The Parable of the Lost Sheep | NOW (Part 2)
The Parable of the Lost Sheep contains a powerful message about how Jesus is willing to stop at nothing to redeem one lost sheep.
How are people like sheep?
1.) Like sheep, people stink.
2.) Like sheep, people get lost without intending to get lost.
3.) Like sheep, people are defenseless apart from a Shepherd.
Jesus didn’t consider sinners reprehensible. In fact, He liked and loved the people that the Pharisees rejected and judged. While Jesus was never a “friend of sin,” He was a “friend of sinners.” This is what made Him irresistible.
The Parable of the Lost Sheep shows how Jesus felt compassion, not condemnation, for the worst of sinners. God Himself became a Man so He could be our sacrificial Lamb. He came as one of the sheep to lay down His life like a Shepherd.
