The Heart of God

God desires more than outward religion—He desires relationship with us. The story in the book of Hosea shows us how prosperity, religious activity, self-reliance, and compromise can create the appearance of spiritual health while our hearts become inactive toward God. Even when we have failed, we see the beautiful heart of a God who continues to pursue us, calling us to return, confess our sins, and receive His healing and unfailing love. No matter how far we have wandered, God continues to reach for us and invites us back into His presence.
