First, I have Brianna here with me. And it is Brianna's very first Sunday with us here at Liberty Live Church. And man, come on. I don't know if you were here at the first hour of the message, but I asked her. I said, where are you from? She said Philadelphia. And that may not mean anything to you yet, but it will in just a second. God's sovereignty is all over her story. Brianna, it's a privilege to be here and hear some of your stories. She grew up Catholic and said, I just hit a dark season where I realized I don't need to try anything else but Jesus. And so it is a privilege to baptize you today. My sister, in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, buried with Christ and death. And raised a wall in a new life. Come on. Come on. And then next, have our new friend, Tia. And Tia's story is super encouraging too. And Tia said, I tried every religion. I tried all kinds of different things. And could not find what I was looking for. And it was when I was going through my divorce and when my mom had brain cancer that I'm watching people navigate these hard moments with such a faith.
And I said, I want that. I think I'm missing this abundant life that this Jesus talks about. And so today she's here because she has surrendered to Jesus and she wants in on the abundant life that Jesus has for her. So it's a privilege to baptize you, my sister. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, buried with Christ and death. And raised a wall in a new life. Come on. Come on. I'm going to have Josiah. Josiah is on his way in such a similar story, man. Grew up in the church, knew some of the right things. And it wasn't until he was older and he tried to do it on his own that he realized, man, I never really grabbed a hold on my faith. And so I asked him, what was the moment? He said, just a lot of trying to do it myself, and today is my coming home party. I'm coming home right right along with Jesus this way. It's a privilege to baptize you, my brother. In the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, buried with Christ and death. And raised a wall in a new life. Come on. And next up, I got my man, Carlton. And what a cool story from Carlton. I got caught up in drugs and alcohol and just saw that life was empty. And it was actually during our one day revival. He watched his wife get baptized and said, I need to start taking this seriously. Look at the joy on my wife's face. Come on. Come on. Brother, it's a privilege to baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, buried with Christ and death. Yeah, and raised a wall in a new life. Come on, bro.
And then last but certainly not least is Ty Van. And Ty Van is fresh out of jail and has been just trying to figure out how we got so far from God. And I said, what was the moment that made you realize I need to get this figured out. I need to take Jesus seriously. And he said, when I got shot, I got shot and God spared my life. And while I was sitting there in jail, I said, God, you spared my life. I'm going to commit myself to you. I'm going to commit the life you spared back to you. It's a privilege to baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, buried with Christ and death. Yeah, come on. And raised a wall in a new life. Come on. I just want to add to that that we are going to on that Sunday, the 18th, have a documentary about the history of the church. It's gonna be a day, unlike any day we've ever had. I'm gonna be sharing the new vision that God's laid on our heart. Don't miss October 18th. You will want to be there, okay? Well, take your Bibles, turn to Revelation chapter 3. We're in a series on the seven churches and we're looking at the letters to those churches. We started at Ephesus and then Smyrna. And this was kind of the postal route of that day. And John is writing to these churches, Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira. Last week we looked at Sardis. Sardis had a reputation of being alive, but Jesus said they were dead. And it is a reminder that a church can have orthodoxy. They can have sound doctrine and still be dead. Did you know that you can believe the Bible
and believe right and be useless? Hello. And so the old preachers would say it like this, "Dr. Lee, you can be as straight as a gun barrel and just as empty." No spirit, no life. And so Sardis was the church that was dead and in church history, we would call that the Middle Ages or the Dark Ages, and then Philadelphia. It's the church of the open door. No condemnation or complaint is given to the church at Philadelphia. And we believe that this is the Reformation, the Great Awakenings, and the very time in which we live. If you ask me what church are we living in right now? I would say we're living in the time of Philadelphia and certainly going into the last days, next week you'll hear about Laodicea. So I want to get across to you today the importance of understanding the time in which we live at Philadelphia. A year from now, I hope to go visit these places. I'd love for you to go with me. about traveling next year, then we'd love for you to join us. Go ahead and reserve your spot. Philadelphia, have we got any Eagle fans? We're my Eagle fans in church today. Now you do know the reason the Eagles are so good is because you got my Georgia defense.
Hello? Yeah, yeah, it's true. It's true. Well, Philadelphia, I never think about Philadelphia without thinking about the city of brotherly love. Of course, that's what it means. And the Rocky movie, you know, where he's running up the steps. I mean, you know, you just think about the city. Philadelphia, well, today, all of these places where we've been looking at the birth of Christianity, the beginning of Christianity, now Philadelphia is known as the city of Islam in the Middle East. And so it's a wake up call for all of us right here in this Christian nation and heritage that we have had to wake up and see what has happened in the past and what's happening around us today. I think the big idea of this whole letter is this, if we remain faithful, God will open doors that no opposition can close. God will open doors that no opposition can stop. So the first thing that Philadelphia teaches us about is opportunity, everybody say opportunity. Verse seven, right to the angel of the church in Philadelphia, thus says the holy one, the true one, the one who has the key of David who opens and no one will close and who closes and no one will open. I just feel like we need to pray. Father, thank you for what you did in the first hour.
But Lord, we need a fresh touch this moment. And I pray for every person that you would give them ears to hear what you say. And I thank you that the one who wrote this book is the one who's gonna preach it in and through me, in Jesus name, amen. And so here it is, the holy one. If you've been reading through the one in your Bible, you know that we've been a long time in the book of Isaiah. At least 30 times in the book of Isaiah, he is called the holy one, the holy one, the holy one. What does it mean that he is the holy one? It means that God is set apart from all others, that he alone is morally pure. The Bible says God is light. And in him, watch this, is no darkness at all. And so he is holy, everybody say holy. Holy, this is just some total of all the attributes of God. We know Jesus was tempted like us yet without sin. The Bible says he who knew no sin became sin for us. He is the holy one. He is also called here, the true one. Now there are two words in the Greek language for true. It can mean no false or no fake. So it's not false or it's not fake. This is the second word. He is saying here that Jesus is not fake, he's genuine, he's authentic, he is the real deal, he's the real son of God. And that we could trust him,
that all the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ Jesus. We know that he only tells the truth, he is the truth, he's the way, he's the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through Jesus. It says here that he holds the key of David. Again, that is a reference back. It's a direct quote from Isaiah 22, 22. In that passage, David is saying there was a man in his job was to hold the key to the treasury and Jesus holds the key. Whatever your need is today, whatever lack is in your life, I want you to know Jesus holds the key. When you've got him, you've got everything that you need. Everything I need, everything I need, my Father has it, amen? And so my God shall supply all your needs according to his riches and glory in Christ Jesus. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. God is our source, Jesus holds the key to the treasury. Well, we look here at verse eight. I know your works. Look, I have placed before you an open door that no one can close because you have but little power. Yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name. Close doors are frustrating, aren't they? You wanted that job interview, but you never got it. You wanted that job, but you didn't get it. You wanted that date with that person,
but you didn't get that date. You think about it, in light there are a lot of times that we try to get a door open. We wanna get in to see that doctor and yet they don't have, Sometimes you try to get into a certain school or you're trying to get a certain house or a certain car. It may be that you want to make the sale or close the deal. You want to make the team, but you didn't make the team. Closed doors can be very frustrating, but I want to remind you what the Bible says. The steps of the righteous are ordered of God. And we believe that includes the stops. That when it says the steps are ordered of God, it means even the stops are ordered of God. And I can tell you that you can look back on your life and praise God. He closed that door. The day will come, you'll look back and thank God. He didn't let you go in that direction. I've heard people say before, oh, I'm glad God didn't let me get that job because six months later, I would have had that job. They did away with the whole position. I've heard testimonies where people said that God protected them by closing the door. Proverbs three, five, six, it's trust the Lord with all your heart. Lean not to your own understanding.
And all your ways acknowledge Him and He'll what? He'll direct your path. What I'm saying is let Jesus take the will. I'm saying give Him the key. Jesus holds the key. We get in trouble when we hold the key to our life. And you need to give Jesus the keys. Sometimes we get impatient. Sometimes we try to kick the door open. We think if I just knew the right people, if I had the right connections, if I was at the right place at the right time, then the door would open. No. Let me tell you, opportunities are determined not by our ability but by God's authority. The Bible says that promotion comes not from the east or the west or the south, but it comes from above. That God exalts one and God takes down another. And so the door you think you're trying to get open, that you just got to go in that direction. The Bible says there is a way that sings right into man but the end there of his death. Thank God for closed doors. Spend less time trying to promote yourself and spend more time showing yourself approved unto God. Put it in God's hands. It says here they had a little power.
It just means that they understood that their power compared to God's was weak. And they weren't following themselves. They weren't trusting in themselves. The arm of flesh will fail us. I'm telling you, you can trust the power of God. You know, you think about it here. Little power, but yet they had great potential. They had an open door that no man could close. Little is much when God's in it. Listen, when God opens the door, He expects us to be obedient to walk through by faith. And when we do, we see God do incredible things. Paul asked for prayer in Colossians 4. Pray for us to that God may open a door for our message. That's what we need to pray. That God will open the doors He wants us to go through. Close the doors He doesn't want us to go through. And I told you Philadelphia represents that time in church history when out of the Middle Ages, you had the Reformation and the commitment back to the Word of God and the preaching of salvation by grace through faith. And there was this Reformation, this revival, and out of that came great awakenings. The first one we read about was 1730 to 1745. That's when men like Edwards and Wesley and Whitfield were preaching the gospel and people came into great conviction. And John Wesley, he rode 250 miles on horseback
just to preach the gospel. We can't even begin to fathom what it was like in that first awakening. 15% of the population came to Christ. 15% in this country. That would be like 270,000 people getting saved right here in Hampton Roads. It would be like 50 million getting saved in our country right now. And then God moved in the second awakening, 1790 to 1840. This time it wasn't so much about great preachers. Yes, God used Finney and Asbury, but not as many men, famous men were preaching at that time, but they were just great revivals breaking out. And God was moving and he did it differently. And a lot of people who had seen the first awakening said, "Well, this can't be of God. "He's not doing it the same way." Don't you understand that one time God spoke through a bush? He hadn't done that since. And then one time God spoke through a donkey and don't you say he's speaking through one right now? (congregation laughing) Are you listening? The first awakening focused on the sovereignty of God, the sinfulness of man, the second awakening focused on human responsibility. And people answering the call of God. And then, in the middle of that, in 1857, this prayer revival broke out.
Listen, in New York City, people were being saved at the rate of 10,000 people per week. And it was through business people. They were praying eight o'clock in the morning, then at lunchtime, and then at six at night. And not, excuse me, 1857 alone, over a million people got saved in this country in one year, in one year. And then in 1850 to 1930, they said it was like a great canopy, the presence of God over the East Coast, that as ships would be coming from Europe over into our country, that out at sea before they even got to the coastline, that revival would break out on these ships, that people would sense their own sinfulness and that they would cry out to God. God do it again, that's what I'm praying. Hey, the Welsh Revival in 1904, they said that in Wales, that again, God did it differently. It went so much through great preachers or preaching as much as it was through a great times of worship, and people would meet for revival, and they would have all this great singing. There was a whole emphasis on singing and music. And in the middle of that, people were getting saved, and some people didn't like it, because God didn't do it the way He had done it in the past. But the presence of God was found in homes and streets and mines and factories and schools. Listen to this, prostitution, bars, gambling houses were shut down for lack of business. Courthouse is closed because of lack of crime.
Coal production failed because the donkeys would not respond to the men because they got rid of their bad language. So all they were used to is men cussing at them, so the donkeys didn't know what to do. Dr. Lloyd Jones tells the story of a coal miner who came home, his wife was going to the revival meeting. And so he was angry, he said, "I'm going down, and I'm gonna break up that church meeting." He arrived, the crowd was so big, he could not even get in. He was living, he pushed his way through the crowd. And the next thing he knew, he remembered being at the front with his hands in the air crying out for the mercy of God. The people who witnessed it said the man was so mad, he walked on the top of the pews all the way to the front, looking for his wife, wanting to stop the meeting, but by the time he got to the front, he was gloriously saved. Put your hands together and praise God. God do it again. And then in 1960 through '80, you had the Jesus movement and it was primarily with students and with a young generation, hippies were coming to Christ in record numbers, it started in 1970 as very college. And I want you to know, despite all the bad news that you see today, I want you to know on college campuses across the country, thousands of students are coming to Christ. They're baptizing them in the back of pickup trucks
at secular universities. I want you to mark on your calendar February the 25th of next year, that is college day 2027 and we're praying for a great move of God. You know, I think about how Bible sales are up, double. Bible sales are up double in this age group, 18 to 24 young men. God's doing something. I'm saying when you look at this right here, every 30 to 60 years, God has moved in a powerful way and I'm telling you the time is right, our world is crazy. And how else can you explain? And I'm not saying we're in awakening right now. I'm not saying that it's come, but I believe the first drops of awakening are falling because how else can you explain? We have seen 1277 people baptized this year, 1277. Over 300 and one Sunday morning in the spring, over 300, one Sunday morning in the fall. I'm just saying God is moving and I believe our generation, we're living in the church of Philadelphia with an open door for the gospel. We can be the generation, the church that gets the gospel to the end of the earth and then the end will come. (applause) I will make those from the synagogue of Satan who claim to be Jews and or not But are lying I will make them come and bow down at your feet and they will know that I have loved You he talks about the synagogue of Satan. What does that mean? Well, he says plainly there are those who claim to be Jews and they're not Hey, they're those who claim to be Christians and they're not He's just saying Jesus came into his own and his own received him not Who was it that ultimately it was the religious establishment?
And it's the same way with Paul in the early church. It was the synagogue who would Kick them out and persecute them for following Christ And and and we see the same thing and listen just like Paul did it. They could he was doing God a favor He persecuted Christians in the church doing it in the name of God You see it today with Islam radical Islam And terrorists doing it in the name of God Hey, I'm not getting this. I'm gonna get my point across here in a minute You see what it says right here the synagogue of Satan Hey, there's synagogues of Satan. There's mosque of Satan and their churches of Satan Now let that sink in I want you to know listen now. I Told you the Philadelphia represents the church I believe of the open door that gets the gospel to the ends of the earth before the last days, but hear me Even right now from the time of the Reformation and the Great Awakenings. There's two streams of Christianity There's the evangelistic church and the apostate church. Listen The evangelistic church believes in the authority of scripture Believes the gospel of Jesus that he is the only way to be saved The evangelistic church believes in the Great Commission and world evangelism But the apostate church denies this book denies the supernatural Denies the virgin birth of Jesus Denies the bodily resurrection denies the morality and Judeo-Christian values And I'm telling you You got to make up your mind which one you're gonna be with and I want to be a part of the Philadelphia church I want to be a part of that church that God uses in the last days I don't want to be a church of Satan No more than they were a synagogue of Satan and it says right here. Watch this. There's gonna be opposition But God will fight your battles God will fight your battles
Look at this Paul said in 1st Corinthians 16. There's a great door for effective work that's open to me and there are many who opposed me It just goes hand in hand together opposition comes from the outside and the inside They'll always be those who minimize and criticize the move of God. I Remember my first church man. I I was catching it because it was a it was a family-run church small town and Just two or three individuals they had control over it. I'm the young preacher I think everybody loves God and wants to win souls. They didn't want anybody new in that church And as people started joining I remember the guys out smoking on the steps And I came up the back way and I heard them talking And they were smoking on the steps out there at that little cut your church. Listen. They they singing up. They're sending up burnt sacrifices All right burnt offerings, you know, it's smoking Smoking won't send you to hell and just make you smell like you've been there amen, but anyway Hey, they were talking head to back to me they didn't see you I was sitting there and one looked at the other one I said, you know, it's gotten to the place. We don't know anybody at church anymore I always knew people take it over. I wanted to say hallelujah. That's the way it ought to be. Amen new people coming We're here for those that are not yet here And so I remember the opposition and and the older deacon there. He was he had my back. Thank God For brother Creason man. He was a great guy. He said don't be discouraged anything that moves ahead faces friction Right that down you're gonna need that The tallest tree catches the most wind Let me tell you a lot attracts bugs And so Opposition doesn't mean that you miss God opposition may mean that you're right in the middle of the will of God doing what he's called you to do With opportunity comes opposition and if you don't run into the devil you must be going the same way Open doors always bring obstacles. Life's hard, anything that's worthwhile is not easy. The devil's gonna tell you, you can't afford to obey God. You can't afford to do that. I'm telling you, if God told you to do it,
you can't afford not to do it. You know, we serve a big God. We serve, he's given us a big vision. Thank God the vision's bigger than ourselves. And I believe God's guiding us. I can't wait 'til October the 18th to share with you the new vision that God's laid on my heart. I want you to know, I may be getting older, but I'm not coasting in for the landing. No, I wanna be found faithful to the end. We're not drifting. You don't ever drift anywhere worth going. No, God is guiding us. And he's building the church that the gates of hell will not prevail against. If God be for us who can be against us, hey, you take care of God's business, he'll take care of your business. And he'll fight your battles. Did you notice there? It says, I will have your enemies bow down to you and they will know that I have loved you. Again, go back to Isaiah. We've been reading it in our one-year Bible. It says in Isaiah 54, enlarge the place of your tent. Stretch your tent curtains wide. Do not hold back, lengthen your cords, straighten your sta-- hey, that verse comes to my mind often as I think about our new vision. It says, for you will spread out to the right
and to the left, do not be afraid. William Carey preached on that verse as God laid on his heart, those who did not know Christ in India. And you know what the established religious, traditional church said to him? They said, young man, if God wants to save the heathen, he'll do it without you or me. You see, they so believed in the sovereignty of God. Now watch this, they so believed in the sovereignty of God, they had the attitude, if anybody out there gets saved, God can do it. But we all know that if anybody gets saved, God has to do it. Salvation is the work of God, but he's chosen to work through us. And he told us to take the gospel to the ends of the earth, but they believed, listen, they believed the great commission was only given to the apostles. And it's no different than people who today say, hey, all the miracles and all the working supernatural of God went out with the apostles. No, it didn't. God's still God. And we've stayed without a commission to take out. We're going to the ends of the earth. I'm telling you, we've got to get the gospel out. He said, don't be afraid. And now with the great commission said,
he said, fear not, I'll be with you. To the very end, don't be afraid. You'll not be put to shame. Do not fear disgrace. You will not be humiliated. Watch this, all your children will be taught of the Lord. Great will be their peace. If anyone does attack you, it will not be my doing. Whoever attacks you will surrender to you. No weapon forged against you will prevail. You will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord. And this is their vindication from me declares the Lord. He says, I'll make them bow down to you. And they'll know that I blocked you. So much of what we're reading out this letter comes from the heart many times word for word from the book of Isaiah. I'm just saying, you don't have to defend yourself. You let God defend you. He's never lost a fight. I wanna ask you a question. Do you have people in your life that drive you crazy? Yeah, yeah. Now don't lie, you're in church. Anybody drive you crazy? They can't drive you crazy unless you give them the key. Jesus said, I hold the key. You give the key to Jesus.
And stop giving the key to people who are driving you crazy. Listen, giving Jesus the key, that's the secret. That's the key to success. He said, they'll know that I loved you. Sometimes you feel like you just can't go on. Nobody sees or appreciates what you're doing. Hang in there. Don't give up. God loves you with an unconditional love. It doesn't matter if anybody pat you on the back, thanks you. No, God sees. This is my son. This is my daughter in whom I'm well-placed. He loves us with an everlasting love. You can't do anything to make him love you more. You can't do anything to make him love you less. He just loves you because God is love, amen? And for those who are new and those who are listing online are your guests today at one of our campuses. Hey, Liberty Life's not a perfect church. And if you ever find the perfect church, don't join it. (congregation laughing) There's no perfect church, we're not a perfect church, but we're a loving church. And Jesus said, "By this, all men know that you're my disciples, if you want. Love one another." And we love one another, even when we disagree, we want another.
And so I'm telling you that God gives opportunity, that Satan brings opposition. Oh, but Jesus has guaranteed the outcome. Hallelujah. Look at your neighbor say it's about to get good. Oh, it is. I'm telling you, if we obey God, and we, obediently, by faith, walk through the doors that he opens, the opportunities he gives us, like this new vision, and don't quit in the face of opposition. Here's the outcome. He says, "Because you've kept my command, to endure, I'll keep you." From the hour of testing, and we know that life's filled with testing, and every ages has its time of testing. But this is no just random time of testing. This is the testing that is going to come on the whole world, to test those who live on the earth. Jeremiah called it, "Jacob's Trouble." Daniel chapter nine calls it the 70th week. Jesus and Matthew 24, 21 said, "For then there will be what?" Great tribulation. And so it's known as the great tribulation period. Such as has not been since the beginning of the world, until this time, no, nor ever shall be. You said, "I thought it was about to get good." (laughs)
Well, it is. Because he says, "I'm gonna keep you. I'm gonna keep you from that time." Now, this is personally why I believe the rapture takes place before the great tribulation. Verses like this. Now, I've got good friends. Godly, they love Jesus. They believe it's gonna happen in the middle of the tribulation period, which is seven years. You read about it in Revelation six through 19. They believe it. The rapture takes place in the middle based on the book of Daniel. And if you go read that, it kind of sounds like it happens in the middle. Read this first. It sounds like it happens at the beginning. Some people believe it's gonna happen at the end. The bottom line is this, good Godly people disagree on when it's gonna happen. Don't make it a test to fellowship. It's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. He's gonna take care of his own. In fact, Paul wrote about it in 1 Thessalonians 4, "For the Lord himself would descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel's voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first."
Then we who are still alive, who are left, will be caught up as raptured together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we always be with the Lord." He said in the next chapter, chapter five, "For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, so that here it is, whether we are awake or asleep, whether you're alive or dead, when it happens, we're gonna live together with him." Put your hands together and praise God. It's guaranteed. We've read the end of the book. We know how the story ends. We win. Jesus wins. He says, "I'm coming soon. I'm coming soon. Hold on to what you have, so that no one takes your crown. The one who conquers, who overcomes, I will make a pillar in the temple of my God." Let's just start right there. Pillar is talking about a column, all right? In all of those Roman temples back then, or buildings, architecture, you would see these huge columns, all right? Pillar, not pillow. Some of y'all need a pillow today.
Y'all kinda sleepy, you know, pillar. And I'm just telling you, go to the ruins of ancient cities today. What's still there? The pillars, the columns. They may be laying down, but they're still there. The building collapse, nothing else is there, but they're there. God says, "When the whole world's falling apart, hallelujah, I'll make you like a pillar in my temple." You're not gonna fall apart, even though the world is. It says right here, and he will never go out again. I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from my God and my new name. Let anyone who has ears to hear listen to what the Spirit says to the churches. All of this new city and New Jerusalem and my new name talks about identity, identity. Aren't you glad today that even when earth is unstable, heaven is unshaken? (gentle music) you my new name you know I I don't like my middle name I've I've been here probably 20 years now and y'all don't know my middle name but my first name Grant not too bad then mom reached back and got a family name Columbus yeah in 1492 Columbus sell the ocean blue that's me don't really like my middle name you know Miss Tammy worked in labor and delivery she loves babies she said this young mom gave birth to a baby and the doctor was over talking and he just

mean everything's a festival and so I just took the name of our church Liberty and put fast with it called it Liberty Fest and you can't go fishing without a hook so I thought well you invite your guests to come and we'll give away a new car and we did that for a few years and I gave away a Jeep Liberty Liberty Liberty I was trying to get the name of our church out and I remember on on that Liberty Fest Sunday I held up the keys and I said it's free it's a gift somebody's gonna get it today but it really wasn't free and then I explained we didn't use any tithe money to buy the Jeep Liberty but I had 20 families to give a thousand dollars each and they bought it as a gift to give to you and salvation is free and salvation is a gift but Jesus paid for it on the cross and I just shared it even if I held up the keys and said it's yours it's not yours until you what open the door and receive it and that's what I'm asking you to do today listen Jesus offers you everything that this world can't offer you but you got to receive it it's about with me in prayer right now if you don't know for certain and when you die heaven will be your home make sure make sure you put your faith and trust in Jesus just right now This idea Lord Jesus I'm not trusting in religion, I'm not trusting in morality, but I trust in the cross. Your finished work, the once and for all sacrifice for sin, and I'm trusting in your resurrection from the dead to save my soul. Adopt me into your family. Give me forgiveness, a home in heaven, an assurance that when I die I'll spend eternity with you, fill me with the Holy Spirit, and help me every day to confess Christ publicly, to never deny you and to live for you the rest of my days in Jesus' name, and everybody say it. Amen. If you prayed that prayer and you really meant it, whether you're online or whether you're right here in the room with us, we would love to know that you're making that decision to follow Jesus. You can always fill out the form right there online.
You can text yes to 40371 if you said yes to Jesus, or you can tap the seat back in front of you. And Scripture says, "All of heaven rejoices when just one person prays to follow Jesus." And so church family, I want us to rejoice with every person who just prayed that prayer, made that decision. I want you to know, we've heard from people over the last few weeks that you've tried tapping the seat back in front of you. You want to be able to connect with us, and you need help on your journey. But for whatever reason, you can't get cell phone signal in the building. We know that's a problem for many people, it could be the steel of the building or whatever, but for some reason, you don't have cell phone service. And we've worked really hard to try and provide you with a guest Wi-Fi network. And at any point, you can tap on your phone, join the Wi-Fi there with us, and that'll help you be able to fill out the form. The reason I want you to know that is because I don't ever want there to be an excuse for you not to be able to take the step that you need to take to follow after Jesus. And I believe everybody has a step of obedience they can take from today's message. And so I want you to stand all over this place. Honestly, even better than filling out a form, I want to invite our staff team and our prayer team down front. We'd love the chance to meet you, be able to pray over you, talk to you right now. Some of you heard different parts of that message, and honestly, you need to surrender an area of your life. You're trying to be in control of something. You're trying to beat down a door that God closed, or open a door that's not opened. And I just want you to know, you don't have to be in control because God is. And maybe your next step of obedience is just coming to the altar and surrendering an area of your life, asking God to just take control of the things you can't control and surrendering your trust to Him. Maybe you need prayer for a specific area in your life.
We'd love the opportunity to be able to pray over you. I thought even as He was sharing the last thing about you getting a new name, a new identity. I just wonder if there aren't people all over this room, you've received the identity that someone else has spoken over you. You've received a false identity from the enemy. And it's not what God calls you, and it's not who you are. And I'm telling you, right now in this invitation, you can let go of an old identity and receive the fullness of who Jesus says that you are, and I hope that you will even this hour. I want to pray for you, and then we'll worship and respond together. Holy Spirit, would you meet with us now? I pray that you would take the truth of your word and apply it to all of our hearts. God I'm asking that not one person would leave this place without being right with you. We need you. God we need you to move and work in our lives. God pray for people that need to surrender areas of their lives. God would you give them the faith and the trust to let go of the things they can't control and to trust you fully? God would you meet us right now as we respond in faith to you? Is in Jesus' holy precious name we pray, amen. Let's worship and respond together. Man what an incredible message from God's word today, and if He is leading you to take a next step of faith, we would love to know about it, and we'd love to help you in your faith journey. Simply text yes to 40371, and someone from our team will reach out to you this week. Liberty Family, thank you for joining us on this Sunday morning.
