Testimony of Victor Marquez Delivered from the 1%er Outlaw Biker World - Part 2
In this episode of Living In Victory, we have special guest Victor Marquez. Victor tells his testimony of how God delivered him from the 1%er outlaw biker world and brought him into the Kingdom of God.
🎶 Music Outro 🎶 Well, how else has your life changed since you got out of the outlaw biker lifestyle? You're obviously still around beautiful pieces of equipment, you know? I mean, this chopper behind us you're rebuilding? Yeah. You know what that needs? It needs put back together and miles put on it. Oh yeah. Oh man. That's a big motor there. It is. But I think, Mike, I think my attitude has really got better because I'm positive now instead of being negative. I used to be negative about everything and I never realized I was negative until I became positive. And then I can look back. Yeah, I never thought of it. But then I look back and I think, oh man, how wrong you were, Victor. You were totally wrong, you know? And so I'm positive. And I appreciate people, Mike. I appreciate you, bud. And your wife and everybody. I appreciate people in general because I feel we're all God's children. And before, I never appreciated people. It was like, I didn't care, you know? Right. Get in my way, I'll thump you. Yeah, exactly, bud. I mean, you got something I want, I'll take it, you know? And so, yeah. Well, a couple other questions. What was the hardest part of Christian life for you when you started getting around the body of Christ and some believers? What did you see? What did you have to overcome in this realm that you didn't deal with as much whenever you were in the outlaw biker realm? Oh man, that's a hard one, Mike. But it will help people. Okay. I had to learn, and I'm very happy to learn this, to forgive, to love, and to move on. And let it go. When you say forgive, you were in a biker club, which we both know well, for decades. And they say, God forgives, we don't. That's right. And so, you were brought up with a lifestyle of, God may forgive you, but I ain't. Yeah. Vengeance is mine. I'm going to come and thump you. Exactly. I'm going to take a hammer on you. Right on the side of the head with a, never mind. Yeah, moving right along. We know you've changed. But Mike, I learned to love and forgive. Glory to God. Yes, all glory goes to God. Because even if you're upset at somebody, love them and forgive them. And also, ask God to bless them. Ask God to wake them up and touch them. Bless them. Because it's just the way to be. You know, hypocrisy is in every group, every culture, and there's too much even in the church. When you started going to church, how were you received, and what did you
deal with in that realm that surprised you? That's another tough one, Mike. When I traveled around, every Sunday I went to a different church. Trying to find the right one. Right. And when I first started walking with Jesus, the second time around, it was 2017 then. And I didn't know where to go. So, I'd go to different churches. I mean, there's hundreds of churches within 100 miles of Denver. And, man, this is hard to say, but it's the way I feel. I've seen so many Christians that were one-uppers. Anything I said, they had something better. Or that they thought they were better than me. I could walk in there with with pants like this that maybe I tore. They were brand new and I tore them. And so I glued a patch on them. Right, it works. Or something, you know. And they looked like they were better than me. Or they're arrogant and jealously. And I even told a Christian brother that's been walking with Jesus for over 50 years, I told him, man, I never met a group of people like this that were that jealous of somebody doing something good for them happening. They were jealous of it. Or arrogant and all that. And he told me, you know, Don't ever let it ruin you. That's right. Stay on God's side. So what I do is I learn to forgive and not worry about it and pray for them all. Part of that is due to pride, which is the nature of the flesh, nature of sanctum, and there's too much pride that we've got to get out of. I've had to deal with it in my life. Amen? Boy, brother, I hate the fact that you had to go through that, but you didn't quit. No, I won't quit. You stayed and you fought and you chose to forgive. Glory to God. I'm not backing up, brother. I mean, just like we said earlier, God didn't force this on me, but I choose to walk with Jesus and I ain't backing up through good or bad or whatever anybody put me through or anything. It don't matter to me because I'm going to stick with Jesus. I mean, I see the light now.
What has God been putting on your heart or teaching you recently and how are you growing spiritually? I know you're going to church. You're handing out Bibles and stuff. What else are you doing? Are you getting in the Word? Yes, yes. I like, I spend probably, I wake up early. I wake up anywhere from 2 o'clock to 5 o'clock every day, no matter what time I go to bed. I was even trying to stay up later thinking I'd sleep later, but I can't. You still wake up. Anyway, so I spend 2 to 3 hours, minimum of 2 hours every day between the Bible, reading in the Bible, or sending out passages, Scriptures to people, or praying. I like praying and it's a real good time for me because it's early in the morning and it's peaceful, quiet, and there's nobody there but God and me. My, my, my. And it's peaceful. And so I spend that, and I do that 7 days a week. Every day you get in the Bible. Every day. It's your daily bread. Every day. You get fed the Word of God every day. Every morning. Putting Him first. You know, Matthew 6, 33 says, Seek ye first the kingdom of God
and all these things will be added unto you. Yes, He comes first in my day, turn out my day 7 days a week. When I wake up first, even before I get out of bed sometimes, or I sit on the side of the bed, I thank God for a new day. Because this is a new day. And God gave me this day. He woke me up. It might be 3 o'clock in the morning He woke me up, or 4 o'clock, but He woke me up. And it's a new day. Yesterday's gone. If it was a good or a bad day, it's gone. Tomorrow, I'll try to prepare for tomorrow. To make it a better day, I'll try to prepare. But I'll live for today for God. I put God first on anything I do or say. God comes first. And before, it used to be a club. An outlaw, biker, club lifestyle. But now you put God first. Mike, it was the club first. In front of your family, in front of your work. If I had to pick making a mortgage payment on the house or going on a run, that mortgage payment didn't get paid. I went on the run. If it was going to be with some brothers or going to a family function,
I went with the brothers. That was first. But nowadays, it's not like that. Nowadays, it's God first. Amen. Not your family first. Not your wife first. Not your son. God first. God first. There can't be two firsts. There's one place that's first. And you've got it right, brother. God first. Hallelujah. You know, in the time that I've known you and how you've been growing, I also know that you not just read the Bible every day. You also fill yourself with not just praise worship but listening to the Word with other ministers preaching the Word to you. Right? Yes, that's right, Mike. Yes, I learned since I started walking with Jesus, it's better for me to shut up and keep my mouth shut if possible. Too much talking. I had a disease before I was talking and couldn't shut up. But now, God has cured me of that.
You've been healed of that disease, have you? God cured me of that. And I find it's much better to listen and learn than it is to be running the mouth. Well, God has been working with me on that, but my wife is really trying to help me with that. Is there a certain scripture in the Bible? Now, I believe you're like me. There's a lot of scriptures that minister to us. But is there one that really ministers to you that affected your life? There are so many scriptures in the Bible. Man, that is like really hard for me to pick a favorite. But because there's so many that are so good. Yeah. But here's just one example. Psalms 100. Verse 5, okay, for the LORD is good, his unfailing love, unfailing love continues to each generation. It goes on and on, his love never stops. Now you have found out what love really was. In the outlaw biker realm, your brother would say, love you brother, but that was not really a true love, it was I love you as long as you're part of the club doing what we want you to do. You know what that was? A figure of speech. I'm not going to take you out, you didn't do what I wanted to do, it wasn't true love. It was not true love, and what a mistake I made that because I thought that was true love. Yep, you didn't know agape. No.
God is love. He is love all the way. Oh my, now you have found love, true love. That will never stop, never fail. Never ceases, never. Oh, glory to God. He is love. That's like somebody brings up the word God and I think sometimes, that's what I think of that four letter word, love. Amen. God so loved the world that he gave himself, his son, that you could be saved, amen? Amen. Glory to God. Well, let me ask you a couple more questions. You know, God will grace people and give them divine ability to do things. You have a grace with engines on motorcycles, but you don't work on the newest bikes. No. Tell me a little bit about what you do in the shop. You know, you say these old bikers and stuff come in, but you talk about the engine behind us being a big motor. It's obviously a chopper, but I'm looking at another bike over here that's got a pretty old engine on it. You know, you've got pan head parts in here, you've got shovel head parts. We work on 1999 and earlier, evolution motorcycles, shovel head motorcycles, pan head, knuckle head, iron head sportsters. Now, there's a few knuckle heads around I've seen. There's a few, but they're getting far and few in between. Even pan heads are getting far and few in between. Oh, you're talking about motorcycles. I was thinking about some people that were knuckle heads.
Knuckle heads. Okay. Well, there's plenty of knuckle heads around. We work with all that old stuff, and there's not many people around this area that'll work on them. There's us and- You rebuild and do metal work on them, lathe, you bore out cylinders? We build the whole motors. We fit all the bearings. We line bore the motor cases, fit all the bearings, the bushings, balance everything. Every motor gets balanced for a smooth ride. We have lathes, bore the cylinders. We do a three-angle valve job. We totally rewire motorcycles. That one's from the frame up. You can't see it in the video, but it'll be a frame up 1979 shovel head. You've powder coated it or painted it? I had it powder coated. Yep. I see new braces in the neck. I've already built the motor for it. Yep. I've already built the motor for it. I still have to build the transmission. I'll build the whole motorcycle. The one on the far end over here, the red one, that's just like that. It's from the frame up. That's a 1973 and everything's rebuilt on that. You do the frame, the engines, the transmissions, electronics? Front ends, clutches, wiring, you name it.
God has graced you in an area where you can minister to people using your grace and a talent naturally to minister to people about Jesus. Exactly. People who won't normally go into church. Exactly. You can plant seeds into their life. I am reaching to people and planting that seed. Mike, you can't word it any better. A lot of these biker guys that come over here for their motorcycles, they don't go to church and they don't go around Christian people or nothing like that, but they want their motorcycle fixed. So they come over here. So this is all good. We go back to saying God is so good because I have over and over, I keep telling God I'm available for you. Now use me because I am available. Send me, Lord. I'm available. I'm available. See, and this is just one way that he's using me is through these motorcycles. You know, I've heard people say, well, I went to this church. I asked him if I could volunteer. Now they're using me. Well, didn't you want to be utilized by God? We work for God. Exactly. Rather than thinking you're being used, be happy that God is utilizing you because that has eternal rewards for it. If your heart is right with God and you're doing it unto him, you have eternal rewards in heaven.
It's all for the glory of God. Just think about it. In heaven, God's going to say, well done, good and faithful servant. And then you're going to have rewards in you. ETERNITY. It's all for God and His Kingdom. My, my, my. Building His Kingdom, which is what you're doing in Victor's Motorcycle Shop. You know, I remember one day you had a shop on the north side of Denver. This has probably been 25, 27 years ago. I had a Dyna. And I remember I took, the Lord put it on my heart to have you fix it. It was a Dyna Wide Glide. And I, oh, it may have been my Springer. I don't remember. I had a Softail Springer. But I brought it to you. Too many years ago. Well, it was called Pavel's or? No, it was called Grandpa's Hogs. Grandpa's Hogs. And we were over there off of Federal Boulevard. Federal. Okay. Well, I took my bike in there. This is before when you were still being kind of pushed off, you know, you were being distant because I was a Christian representing and you were in your club. And I brought it to you. And after you fixed the bike, man, no problems, did excellent work. But I remember driving away wondering, hmm, I wonder if this is stolen parts in my bike
if it's part of a chop shop. Well, you never know with those things that we lived, you know. Exactly. I mean, not saying we can't say nothing, but you just never know. Yeah. Just never know. But I had a motorcycle that rang good after I took it to your shop. You know. God is good. When I, when I left and I started this again and up again, I didn't hardly have no work to do. And I used to come in here and over there at that desk and all that, I'd kneel down on the chair and pray and ask God. And everything keeps going back to how good God is. No matter what, it keeps going back to that, it seems like. And then I got a bike to work on, then another bike to work on, and then another one. And I look at here, there's one, two motors to overhaul, one, two, three, four, five motorcycles to work on. And I'm making appointments for the end of February. So when you started, when you left the outlaw biker lifestyle and you truly made a choice to serve God, at first it started off real slow. And you were wondering about, are you going to, I remember, Mike, I don't know that I'm going to be able to keep my house. I remember that call. And because of the goodness of God and some of our partners, we were able to help you back then. And now you've got business to the point where God is blessing you so much, you're able to minister to people and you're able to pay your mortgage. You're able to bless your wife. Hallelujah.
Man, he's a good God. You know, after what you have seen with many years of your life being on the other realm of in the outlaw biker realm and now serving God, would you consider going back to that lifestyle? Oh no. I will. I'll tell you, I'm not turning around. Amen. I've already been over there. I've already experienced that part of living. And I'll never go back to that. I'm sticking with walking with Jesus and to tighten up. Every day I try to tighten up my personal relationship with God better, more closer with him, no matter what. And until I take my last breath, I am not changing. I've already tried that. And I found out that I thought that was so fun and good. And it wasn't. This is fun. This is good. Let's talk about that. Even drugs. I used to think the drugs were so good and made me all, yeah, feeling good. Uh-uh, buddy. Straight as an arrow now. And when the Holy Spirit touches me like that, that's the best high I've ever had. You know, the Bible talks about it. And it's true that a lot of people, they try to be religious about sin not being a crime. Religion. Forget religion.
But the Bible actually says that sin is fun for a short period. That's why people do it. Only a short period. Short people. And Satan never shows somebody that takes a hit, a pot, smokes a joint. He doesn't show them that that's a drug that gets them in it before you know it. Yeah, but it's making them think they're- They're on cocaine. They're on morphine. They're on heroin. They're on fentanyl. Pills. Pills. And before you know it, they're broke. They're underneath a bridge. And they won't see it happening until it's all done. You know, that's a scheme of the enemy. I've seen people that, I won't mention any names and I won't go into fine detail, but just one, I've seen many people. One man I knew, he had everything going for him. He had a big computer, I mean a printer business, repairing and selling printers. He had a beautiful home. He had fancy hot rod cars, three or four Harleys. He had a wife. He had children all night. But then one thing happened, bud, and I shouldn't even bring this up, but he started doing meth. Yeah. Well, little by little, he lost this, that, that. Now he don't even have nothing. He don't even have a wife or kids no more. You know, that's how, what Satan does.
He puts a little thing in there and shows you a little bit of fun, draws you in. Well, I'm only going to do that once. I'm only going to go to that bar one time. I'm only going to have one drink. I'm only going to have marijuana, one hit. I'm only going to go to the, to the. GENTLEMAN'S CLUB, SO CALLED, ONE TIME, AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT, HE'S DRAWING THEM IN. YOU'RE SUCKED IN, AND THEN YOU'RE IN, AND PEOPLE DON'T KNOW HOW TO GET OUT. THERE'S ONE WAY TO GET OUT. GOD. GOD. REPENT, TURN TOWARDS JESUS, AND IF YOUR HEART IS TRUE, HE KNOWS YOUR HEART. YOU CAN'T PLAY WITH HIM. NO. HE TRULY KNOWS. PEOPLE ARE LIKE, AW, GET ME OUT OF THIS, LORD, AND I'LL SERVE YOU. AND THEN THEY GET OUT AND THEY GO BACK. GOD KNEW YOU WERE GONNA DO IT, BUT HE'S GIVING YOU AN OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU TO CHOOSE WHAT'S RIGHT. AMEN. AMEN. AND HE WILL HAVE MERCY ON YOU. HE WILL BRING YOU UP AND PROSPER YOU. AMEN. AMEN. YES. GLORY TO GOD. VICTOR, I'D LIKE TO PRAY OVER PEOPLE. I BELIEVE THAT YOUR TESTIMONY OF HOW YOU USED TO BE ON ANOTHER SIDE, AND HOW YOU ARE SERVING GOD, AND HOW YOU HAD TO TRULY MAKE DECISIONS TO GET AWAY FROM THOSE PEOPLE, AND YOUR LIFE WAS AT RISK WHENEVER YOU GOT OUT. THERE WAS A PRICE ON YOUR HEAD FOR A WHILE. THEY THREATENED YOU. THEY TOOK GUNS OUT. THEY SHOT AT YOUR HOUSE. THEY SAID THAT THEY WERE GONNA KILL ME. YEAH. AND YOU KNOW THAT THIS CLUB HAS HAD THAT BACKGROUND, BUT IT DID NOT MOVE YOU. NO, BECAUSE GOD WAS THERE. AND THAT'S THE CHOICES PEOPLE HAVE TO MAKE. THERE'S GUYS THAT ARE IN PRISON, LADIES THAT ARE IN PRISON WATCHING THIS, AND THEY'RE IN FEAR. GOD DIDN'T GIVE YOU A SPIRIT OF FEAR.
GET RID OF THE FEAR. You have to move, Victor. And I said, I'm not moving. God sent me here, I'm gonna stay here, and I'm gonna declare his goodness. You know, if you need to get out of that, you need to start by repenting. That word repent means change and giving your life to Jesus so you have eternal life with the creator, amen? Surrender. If that is you, and this has moved on your heart, and you wanna give your life to Jesus and have eternal life with the king of kings, the lord of lords, the creator of heaven and earth, it's either that or you go to hell and burn forever. That's the two choices you've got. You say, I'm not making a choice. Well, you have made a choice. Your choice is to reject God, which does not lead to life eternal. But if you want to receive Jesus as your lord and savior, you can do that right now, right, Victor? Yes, sir. Let's pray for people. If this is you, repeat after me. Say, heavenly father, I come to you. I believe that you sent your son, Jesus Christ, to come to earth
to pay for the price of my sins. He bore himself on the cross, went to the pits of hell to pay for my sins, to buy me back, Lord Jesus, I ask you to come into my heart. Forgive me for my sins. Be my Lord and Savior. Help me to walk in your way. Send people in my life that can help me, that will speak truth to me, that I may mature in the things of God. Help me, quicken me, strengthen me to resist Satan, to resist the flesh, and to walk in your love, to walk in your righteousness, that you get the glory. In the name of Jesus, amen. Well, if this message has ministered to you,
reach out to us, let us know. It'll bless, Victor. Amen. I'll leave the word to him. Hallelujah. Thank you. Thank you. Have a blessed day. Remember, God loves you. We love you. And my goodness, we call you blessed. Amen. Amen. Faith is the victory. Live by faith. Amen. Amen. God bless y'all. Have a blessed day.
