Testimony of Victor Marquez Delivered from the 1%er Outlaw Biker World - Part 1

Hello, this is Mike Kennedy with the Living and Victory Broadcast. I'm here with a dear brother of mine. We've been friends for almost 30 years. He's my brother, Victor Marquez, and he has a testimony of the goodness of God. We're in his motorcycle shop. I'm gonna ask him a few questions, and I believe this is gonna bless you. Amen? Amen. Well, Brother Victor, why don't you answer a few questions. Tell us about where you grew up, and you've been in the motorcycle realm for decades. What interested you in a motorcycle biker lifestyle? Wow, okay. Hi, Brother Mike. I grew up in Thornton, Colorado, and I guess it started all when we were young, because when we were young growing up, there was a dirt motorcycle track across the street, and they raced cars and motorcycles there, and they were owned by a motorcycle club called the Gravel Gremlins. Gravel Gremlins. Okay. And those guys rode them old Harleys, and they're old-school bikers. And well, what does a kid do when he grows up? He goes and hangs out at the Gravel Gremlins race track in their clubhouse down the street. Sounds fun. And so they started teaching me how to ride a motorcycle when I was like 8, 10 years old. Yeah. And it all started there, and then I started watching the TV, you know, and the Wild One came on. Oh, the Wild One movie. Yeah, so Hollywood. Wild people on motorcycles. And then our buddies and friends I've grown up with in the neighborhood, we all wanted to be bikers. So you've had motorcycles and biking on your heart since you were a child. I was only about like five or six years old. Now, I have too. You know, since I was little, I wanted to ride. And I've ridden for years, but I took a little bit different path than what Victor did in my younger ages. Cher and I went towards ministry, towards biker groups, where Victor, he had a different background at first. He chose a different path. Victor, can you tell us a little bit about that? My understanding is, from our history, is you had a lifestyle of in outlaw biker gangs, clubs. How long was that part of your life? Well, the biker would, my biker life has been about 63 years, but the outlaw biker life was right at 40 years. Okay. I ran with these other two clubs for around eight years, and then I got in with another club for 32 years. So with the

biker lifestyle was probably right at 40 years of my life, full-time. Okay. Now, if you don't know what an outlaw biker is, there's outlaw biker clubs that are these men that are really tough men. But through that lifestyle, a lot of them don't live long because of drugs, alcohol, fights, things of that nature. And Victor made it through decades of this lifestyle by the mercy of God. Amen. When I joined the last one, they told me if I did my job right, I would be in prison or the grave in three and a half years. And all I can say is God is so good. I'm here with you now, brother Mike. Now, can you share a timeframe where your life was in danger? And looking back now, you know that God spared your life. He had mercy on your life, even though you weren't serving him. There's so many, Mike. I mean, I could talk to you about times that until we're blue in the face that. Sure. I used to say, man, I was so lucky last night, but now I realize that it wasn't luck at all. It was God had his hand on me and his mercy. One example, I'll give you one only right now is one time I got in a fight with a young man and he took a knife out and he cut my throat right here. And there's about a two and a half inch scar here. Yeah, I see it. That. And I ended up at the hospital and they said by two thousandths of an inch. from my juggler vein. How did you get to the hospital? A friend of mine, Tony Liker, grabbed me. He was a big old farm boy. He grabbed me like a wet noodle and threw me in the backseat of his car. So you were bleeding out, basically. He got you to the hospital. So if this friend wasn't there to take you, you may not be here today. Amen. Yes. God placed him there, I believe. I give all the glory to God. I put my hand like that, and the blood was just pumping through my fingers, and he got

me in the car, and we raced to the emergency, drug me in there, and they took me in the back right away. I was definitely bleeding out. But God. God was good. His mercy. So you're here. My, my, my. And that's just one of many. But within that fraction of an inch, if it would have hit your juggler, you would have been gone. In seconds. And you didn't know Jesus is Lord of your life at that time. No, I didn't. You were living an outlaw biker lifestyle. I was living a 100% outlaw biker lifestyle. Thank you, Lord, for your mercies. He is so good, man. Oh, so good. Well, let me ask you a couple other questions, man. I don't want to focus on the things you did that were before you got saved. Let's talk about the goodness of God. Can you share some of the experience you had? What led up to you receiving Jesus as Lord of your life that changed your life and got you out of an outlaw biker lifestyle? I have to give credit. Well, of course, God gets all the glory, of course. Yes, hallelujah. But after that, I give credit to you and your wife, Sarah, and to my brother, Alan. Yeah, your brother is a believer.

Yes. But there was many years where there was dissension between you two, right? Yes. And God has restored that. Yes. The Tribe of Judah motorcycle ministry was always good to me. When I was in the outlaw biker lifestyle and I crossed paths with the Tribe of Judah and you and Sarah, you guys always treated me good and I always liked you guys. Well, we met in 1997 when Sarah and I moved from Houston up to Denver. That's the year we met. We actually met your brother, Mark, who was also in an outlaw biker club, who gave his life to the Lord, is in glory today. We will see him again, hallelujah. But because of him, you and I met. Yes. And at first, there wasn't a tight relationship. There was a little bit of issues there at first. You know, I'm a believer, a Christian coming into an outlaw biker's realm. And over that, God moved on your heart. Amen. Would you say that? Would you agree to that? Yes, I would, all the way. It was like, and the first time, like... Biker Sunday was the first time that I know you had an impact where the Lord really ministered to you. Yeah. You guys invited me to a Biker Sunday. Yes, sir. And I was full-blown outlaw.

Yeah, you were a regional. Yeah. And I went to it and I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I remember that. It was at Orchard Road Christian Center, which is where Marilyn Hickey Ministries is headquartered. It was a church that her and her husband Wally started. And she came to me and said, Mike, would you put on a Biker Sunday for me? At that time, Barry Paulser was the associate. He had a Harley Davidson motorcycle shop. And so he got behind us and supported this. And we invited all different outlaw clubs in the region to come. People from various clubs came. And I remember you walked up during the altar call and gave your life to Jesus. And because some of the other guys in the club that were there were kind of looking at you because you're the boss. You're the regional boss. And you walked up and they're kind of like, what do we do? What do we do? Well, the boss is going up. So we better go up. They didn't want to get thumped, right? We better follow the boss. But the Lord really touched you that day, didn't he? He did. He touched me that day and I thank you guys. But it was kind of strange because that was like 25, 30 years ago. And I walked out of church that day and I didn't change anything in my life. I went right back to my language didn't change. The people I ran with didn't change. The things I did didn't change.

Nothing changed. And then 25 or 30 years later, I did it again. Seeds were planted that first time. Yes. Yes. Hallelujah. Yeah. And I did it again. And with my brother Alan and he took me up into his church and got me up in front of the congregation and asked me some questions, you know, like, do you believe in your heart that Jesus is the son of God? And I said, well, yeah. And then he said do you believe in your heart that Jesus died on the cross for our sins were yes And then he said do you believe in your heart that deep that God raised Jesus from the dead in three days? And Jesus died for you for your sins, and I said yes, and I accept Jesus as my Lord and Savior in that day I have changed my life a hundred glory to God 180 degrees Mike let me ask you a few questions about that Time frame from the time you first went up to the biker Sunday that we put on in the situation with your brother Alan during that time frame you you didn't start walking with God and From what outside looking in knowing your lifestyle and seeing you from being a minister to bikers You actually were promoted in the outlaw biker realm you were promoted into different realms and the enemy had a stronghold on you, but he was drawing you and To that lifestyle deeper and deeper, but then something changed Where the club you found out there was a change and you found out Some stuff where they may not have been your true brothers and that impacted your life You fell to the bottom to the bottom of the biker Lifestyle from what you knew of it at that time and you were hurting in searching at that time exactly So what did you have to do at that point in order to continue where you are today of? Being a servant of the Most High God

Well, I did you really speak it good Mike because you like hit the nail right on the head that This lifestyle was changing things were different and the way I was brought up from them old-timers in it was gone and The new style was totally different and everything was falling apart everything Hurt. Yeah people that were in your life Your brothers they had your back they didn't have your back anymore. Nope. They didn't they were fake and they didn't have my back at all and that's when I came around the second time and and I Totally changed 100% my language people I hang around people I talked to With Had to change who not just not just what you were doing as far as whether it be drugs alcohol Lifestyle you had to change who you were associated with I changed who yes I had I had to change the people I hung around with associated with Because if not, I couldn't change to where I felt God was leading me to be Well, you know, there's a lot of scriptures in the Bible that talk about The people who are you are around will influence you they will become something that impacts your life and until you are strong And and you're a person that can lead them. You've got to separate yourself and be sanctified so that you can go forth Luke 14 23 says go into the highways and byways and draw them in that my church may be Full what you're doing now, but you had to separate yourself from them to you got strong in the word Amen, so there's a lot of people out there today that are in prison that are in situations where they're on drugs alcohol Marital problems and a lot of that is because they're playing they're trying to play this this imaginary Fence and play it on both sides rather than truly making a choice to serve God To separate your themselves and get themselves totally out of that lifestyle in relationship You can't just you can't play with it. No, and you can't walk the fence Like you said Mike back and forth. You have to go one side or the other and that's what we have to pray for everybody the lost people because You and I have been lost before. Yes. I serve God for a while and

And we pray for every all the lost people because they're walking the fence So they're playing a game. Yeah, and and and and I just see that now and I I never seen that before Until the Holy Spirit touched me. Yeah, and when the Holy Spirit touched me It was plain as day Well, there's another scripture where the word says don't go down the road of the prostitute Because if you had an issue there you could fall into that situation It's just like I've been trying to lose some weight And so I am endeavoring not to go down that the chip aisle or the cookie. I was in the buffet. Yeah Oh, you could eat place. Yeah So I'm having to make some choices based on that So it all applies in all aspects of our life the choices we make, you know your decisions Determine your direction. Are you going to go left or right and your direction determines your destiny? You can't get to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords by making decisions You can't get to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords by making decisions that are ungodly that are evil that lead you to towards the realm of evil You can't get to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords by making decisions deceptive stuff led by Satan. That's kind of like what they call repentance you change. Exactly what repentance means. You change your habits, your language. I change my habits, my language, the people I hang around, the things I do, the music I listen to. Oh yeah. I change the music. I came into your shop today and there's Christian praise and worship music going on in your shop. And God doesn't force us to anything but like you said a decision Mike. Yeah. He puts it out there and it's up to us to make that decision to go with God. That's right. And to walk and with Jesus and to move on because it's a way better life. Well based on that it's a way better life. Tell me some of the changes you have in your life since you became a Christian. Well then there's a lot of changes Mike. Just like we were saying now a minute ago. The language, my language has changed. I have taken that dirty mouth and I have kicked it so hard I can't even see it no more. Good. I kicked it, feel gold it. I've changed my the way I think. I've

changed. I've learned to forgive. So you're talking about mind renewal. Renewing your mind. Yeah. What God says, what his word says. Not men's opinions, not a club's directives and guidelines. Nope. Not people's thoughts but what the word says. Amen. Yes. Yeah and and I've changed my life around 180 degrees. Like I say my language, people are hanging around, the things I do, the music, places I go. How do you treat people differently? Oh man. I treat people now because I appreciate people because I feel we're all children of God. If we're saved or not saved. But I treat, I like treating people good. So all mankind regardless of color, background. Regardless of anything. God created all of them. Right. The question is do they know Jesus? Yes and that's where we got to pray for them if they don't. That's right. But yeah I treat people, everybody, I like to treat them good. Where before I don't think I treated people good. I can tell you he didn't. I seen it. I said bad things. I did bad things to people and I thought bad things to people and nowadays I won't do that. Well you shared a situation about a lesson that you learned and that you helped an individual that is a person in your neighborhood recently. Yeah. That had a problem with a piece of equipment and how you handled it. Why don't you share that story with us? It's a young man. He's in his like late 20s early 30s and lives across the street. He rents a room from the gentleman there and I'm sitting in my front yard and he comes over and he says, I need your help. He says, I borrowed a mini excavator from my boss and brought it home so we could dig up a hole back there and it ran out of diesel so I went and got five gallons of gas and put it in. No, he put the gasoline in a diesel engine. Oh. And he says, he says, I started it and it ran for a few minutes and then it quit and it won't start. Victor, will you help me? We need that machine tomorrow at work and I have to get it fixed and I said, oh man. I said, let's go look at it. I said, but first off you know what happens when you feel combustion diesel engine combustion chamber with gas and you crank it too hard when that piston comes up it'll blow that head right off the top of the engine. You know something similar to that happened to Sharon and me. We had a 421 which is a twin engine Golden Eagle Cessna airplane. Okay, it runs off a

hundred low-lead gasoline and they put jet A in it which is only about 42 octane. Well the octane of gasoline hundred low-lead is a hundred so it overheated and melted everything inside. So the jet A would cause it to overheat where gasoline in a diesel will cause it to explode. Right, so anyway so we went over there and I started draining the tank and getting it fixed and and he told me that there was a it was a really bad day for him. He says, God made me cut a three-inch natural gas high-pressure pipe. Oh my. And I said, what? God made him do it. So he's blaming God for this situation. Exactly. Okay, people do that all the time. They blame God. God's mad at me. No, God's not mad at you. He loves you. He has mercy on you. He wants you to come and serve him and do it his way so he can bless you. Amen? Yes. So I told him, I said, what? God made you cut that? I said, how did you cut that for to begin with? And he said, with a four and a half inch grinder with a cutoff wheel. And I said, what were you doing? A gas line. And he said, I thought it was a grease pipe. There was two pipes and I thought I was cutting the grease pipe, but it was a gas pipe. And I said, well, let me tell you something first. God wasn't, didn't make you do that. I said, the devil made you do that. I said, and if what I suggest is you better thank God, get on your knees and say, thank you, God, because God saved your life. That's right. He, I said, I told Taylor, I said, God shielded you that day. I said, when you're cutting that steel pipe with a, with a grinder, there's sparks everywhere and you're talking a three inch. Oh my, that could have been a massive explosion. A three inch high pressure, natural gas with sparks everywhere. How did that not explode? I said, that is God right there. Mercy, protection on him and the loser. I said, you better, you know, my, my, my. You better thank God, you know, and devil made you do that, not God. Exactly. You know, I hear this all many times from people. Well, God is in control. Well, okay. Ultimately God is in control and his plan will be fulfilled, but your involvement in his plan is based on your choices, your decisions. He gives us a free will. He doesn't control and make us do things. Actually demons and Satan want to come in, possess us and control us. Jesus says, I'm here at the door. I'm knocking. It's up to you to open the door to him to lead you, to guide

you, to protect you. He is knocking and you just need to open the door. He will direct your paths. He will guide you to blessings, to prosperity, to his goodness, but you have the choice to reject it. So God is not ultimately in control of every decision you make. He's in ultimate control of his plan being done, but you have a choice to serve him or to reject him. You have a choice to have eternal life in heaven or eternal life in hell. There's only two families on earth, Victor, the family of God and a family of Satan. You're either a child of God or you're not. You're one of the other. And if you say, well, I don't believe in God, then you're ultimately already because of that decision born into the family of Satan because of your sin. There's one or the other and you, everybody, you and me and everybody here, we're all either going to go to heaven or hell. That's right. You know, and, and, and it's our choice on where we could be. And I suggest that everybody will go with Jesus to heaven. I said, and that's why we pray for people, the lost, because time will run out and sooner or later, everybody will take our last breath and we can't change it then. My, my, my. What a sad situation for somebody to live their whole life here and not receive Jesus, the son of God, who God paid such a big price for. And we couldn't be, we couldn't, we couldn't get out of it. I don't care how rich you are, how many deeds you do, how many ladies you help across the street, how many times you give money in the offering, that doesn't get you saved. It works. Do not justify our sin. It's only the precious blood of Jesus that washes us clean. Amen? Yes. It purifies us, makes us right before God like we never sinned. It doesn't matter what we have done. It's the goodness of God, the blood of God that, that draw, it's His goodness that draws men to repentance. And when you repent, the blood of Jesus washes us clean like we've never sinned before. I couldn't imagine God, how do I say it, God sitting on a throne in heaven and bringing Himself to earth as a human being. Yep, as a man. And being humiliated, betrayed, laughed at, stabbed, beat, and everything just to pay the price of our debt that we can't pay. That's how much He loves us. He came from a throne down to here with, to go through all that stuff to pay the price for us. And I believe

that is true love. It is. Think of this, He had a legion of angels that would have got Him out of this situation, but He loved you and me. He was willing to be beaten, hung on a cross, and more importantly, he went to the pits of hell. Not just beat, not just physically beat and stuff, he took upon all our sin and paid that price in hell for you and for me. What a price he paid for you and me. That's the highest ransom that's ever been paid for anyone. God is so good. He is so good. Well, since you became a Christian, what are you doing to help build the Kingdom of God? What are some of the changes in your life from that aspect? Because I know you are doing things to build the Kingdom of God. Every person here has a call on their life. I didn't say that they were supposed to be in five-fold ministry, because you've got a motorcycle shop here and you're building motorcycles for people and rebuilding them all the time because God has graced and anointed you with that ability. But you are still doing work to fulfill the call on your life. What are you doing today to help build the Kingdom of God? Well, let me think on that. I tithe to God's Kingdom. Every little bit of money I make in this shop, I take money from there and tithe to the Kingdom. Glory to God. I pass out booklets and literature on Jesus, on God, all the time, wherever I go, restaurants, stores, here in the shop. Every biker, now repairing the Harley-Davidson motorcycles, I'm trying to be polite, crazy bikers that come in here to get tithed. You don't say that. To get their motorcycles repaired, hardcore bikers, well, in here, while they're here talking to me about their motorcycle and dropping it off and picking it up and coming by to

check on it and all this, they get to hear Christian music. And they get to see booklets around on Jesus. And when they leave, they all get a booklet. Glory to God. And then also, I like spreading God's Word. I try to send scriptures out every morning. I send Bible scriptures to probably, I bet you there's 50 to 70 people every morning. I send scriptures. Yeah, I get them early in the morning. And I spread God's Word. And I just try to, Mike, I just try to lead people to Jesus because I can't get over how fast time is going. And I think I need to try to lead them to Jesus because if one person is saved, one man or lady, that's a good day because time's going by. Well, you say you're handing out scriptures, but correct me if I'm wrong, there's times you will go to swap meets and you will pay for a table to be set up. And you will hand out Bibles, you will hand out books, you will hand out CDs, which due to our partners, we have been able to send you booklets and stuff that you hand out. So you're a channel used by God to distribute His Word. That's a good point because it's not just swap meets, but in the Denver area, there's a lot of car clubs too, and they have car shows all summer. So many of the car clubs have asked me to build trophies for their car shows out of old Harley parts. I weld them together, like I make a first or something like that. But then they also ask me point blank, they'll say, will you come and pass out your booklets, get a booth. So I go there and I set up a canopy and I set up tables and I set up pamphlets and I have signs made up, like I taped to the side of the front of the tables. One says like, Jesus says you must be born again, or prayer changes things. Is there anything I can pray for you for?

And I put these signs up at the car shows. And you'd be surprised how many people, men and women will walk by and some of them just keep on walking. The other ones come over and they start talking and they say, hey, everything's free. So you are fulfilling Luke 14, 23. You're not called into the five-fold ministry of full-time being a pastor, evangelist, missionary, but you are going into the highways and byways and telling people about Jesus that would draw them in building the kingdom of God. That tells me you're not ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I make it as public as I can, Mike. I'm not ashamed at all. Well, when you weren't an outlaw biker, you weren't. I put it on Facebook. I put it on social medias. I go to car shows. I go to everywhere and I make it out. to the public.
