You might be here today, and it could be your first time at a church. You're like, oh, they're singing about the blood. Kind of weird. My friend, let me introduce you to Jesus. He came as the perfect sacrifice. God established all these things in the Old Testament.

And Jesus came. And it was the shedding of His blood upon a cross, a cross He didn't deserve. A cross that was brutal. A cross that was gruesome. But He had just complete surrender and was in perfect obedience to His Father. And He went to the cross. And He died. He shed His blood. And it's in that blood, that blood washes away our sins and gives us a hope of a future. It's that blood that washes us white as snow. So we can stand before God. And say, It was Your Son. Thank You for the blood. I told this story before. We're getting ready to sing a song called, Trust in God. I hadn't been married very long or just got engaged. I don't even know what it was. But my grandmother was diagnosed with a blood disorder. And it was a silent form of leukemia, myelodysmthymplasia. I don't even know what it is. But anyway, she was diagnosed with it. They told my family that it skipped generations. It skipped bloodlines. It skipped. And so because it was the oldest grandchild, I needed to prepare myself for that. And that was a wait. It was a wait. And I just began to pray about it. And we came here to pastor. And it was on a Wednesday night. I can tell you what I was wearing.

Flared jeans, a long brown sweater, and a brown top or a white top underneath. That's the only thing I can't really remember. And a lady in our church walked over to me who didn't know me from anyone. And she said, Pastor Melissa, the Lord just told me to speak this to you. That it's his blood that's flowing through your veins. And there's nothing wrong with your blood. there will never be there's nothing wrong with your blood your blood is it's healthy healed and whole now i could have walked away from that altar and been like oh that was an awesome word thank you god hallelujah but then later said you know what that's what she said then so right now you know i'm just i'm not gonna trust god i'm just i'm gonna i'm gonna keep going here i'm gonna keep going there i'm gonna keep worrying about this i'm gonna keep fretting about this i'm gonna keep wondering if god's moving in this and god has my blood handled but no i chose to walk away from that altar and go you know what i trust him god is my healer god it's his blood that's flowing through my veins naturally and spiritually i am a bought believer of jesus christ amen and it's his blood that's flowing through my veins so maybe you're here today and you're wondering can i trust in god yes you can friend yes you can you can trust in him he's got you he's going to make a way when there seems to be no way maybe maybe you can't hear me this morning but i'm just trying to encourage you that he can do what looks impossible amen he can open the doors he can make ways when there seems to be no ways you can trust in him it's a blessed assurance to put our trust in him let's worship together this morning oh and jesus is mine and he's been my fourth man in the fire time after and born of his spirit and washed in his blood and what he did for me on calvary was more than enough so i trust in god he will never fail yeah and i trust in god

We did this last week, the end of our service, we said, if anybody wants to be baptized, I think it was like four or five spontaneous baptisms, so if you're here and you want to be baptized, go now, go now, that way, they're going to help you, they'll lead you. Folks, you're like, I don't have any clothes, that's okay, that's okay, we got you, we got you. You'll be washed in the water, amen, washed in the blood, put your trust in him. Baptism lights on now, there you go, follow the light. He said repent, let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For this promise is to you, to your children and to all who are far off, as many as the Lord our God will call. That may sound really odd that I would say that. Maybe you heard the commotion that was going on behind the scenes today. But if all you ever see in this church is what goes on in our services, you're missing about 97% of what actually goes on. When we are baptized, it isn't just that we're burying people in water and they get wet. It is the removal, it is the remission, the remitting, the blotting out of everything that the enemy is using to attack us with and to destroy us with. And it empties you of everything that is you and everything that is not God. For then it says you shall receive and in the empty place there is a filling. You shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit in your life. So when we ask you if you've ever been baptized or do you need to be baptized, what we're saying is do you need a remitting of your sins? Do you need things to be washed away out of your life and do you need to be filled with the Holy Spirit in your life so that those things cannot attack you again? There's a lot going on in the spiritual realm in this building today. We're standing down front and I'm going to preach today, I don't care how late it gets, I'm going to preach, because I'm going to talk about the gifts of the Spirit. I think you need to understand them, but before we get there, before we get there, if there's anybody in the room that you need your sins remitted, you need your sins forgiven, you need to be washed clean and made new. The enemy is attacking you with thoughts of suicide, thoughts of depression or oppression. If the enemy is attacking you in those areas, then we want you to be washed clean so that those things can be gone and then you can be filled with the Holy Spirit.

Now before we go too much further, the enemy no doubt is going to be speaking to you like you spoke to some of those before the service, that he owns you. That means you are possessed by a spirit that is not the Holy Spirit. But if you have named the name of Christ, the devil does not own you. He does not possess you. So if the enemy does not own you, you're owned by the Holy Spirit. Let me give you the analogy we gave to the young man who had never known the Lord before this morning. If he came to church and he came, when he left his house, he owned his house when he came to church. But just because somebody went into his house and started stealing from him and robbing from him doesn't mean that he didn't own the house. It just means that there was a door open, there was a window open, something was left unlocked because we were consumed with our suicidal thoughts. Thoughts or our thoughts of oppression or depression and the enemy has come in and started to steal now He's lying to you telling you that he owns the house But he does not own the house the owner of the house is the one that has the authority To say who can come in and who can go out? And if you name the name of Jesus Christ over your life Jesus owns that house and he has the authority to evict that thief out of your house Not ask you the same thing I asked him if you got home today Do you have the courage to walk in and throw the thief out? He's like I didn't know I don't know so what would you do you would call the authorities and say listen I don't have the strength to throw him out But I'm calling the police and the police are gonna come in and they're gonna throw you out of my house Because I own the house. Well today you can call some elders on this place You can call some people that have authority that can lay hands on you and help you evict that robber out of your house You're not demon-possessed you're possessed by the blood of Jesus Christ and we're here to evict that thief and that robber out of your life Everybody mopping what we're dropping today So I want you to lift your hands across this building right now by the authority of the name of Jesus Christ

The word manifest means to be brought to light or to be exposed. In just a moment, this is not on the schedule. We're getting ready to take communion because we're going to declare the Lord's death. For it is in His death we find life. It is through His death that we receive healing. So we're going to declare the Lord's death in just a moment. Pastor Ed's going to come in just a moment and help us. But I want to read to you, this is right before we talk about spiritual gifts. The Apostle Paul is writing to the Church of Corinth in 1 Corinthians 11. There's going to be four baptisms. We're going to keep going. You can celebrate the baptisms and then we're just going to keep going. We're going to have to learn how to have revival. We've been praying for it. Now we're just going to learn how to go through it. For I received from the Lord that which I also deliver to you, that the Lord Jesus, on the same night in which He was betrayed, took bread. And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, Take, eat, this is My body which is broken for you. Do this. in remembrance of me. In the same manner, he also took the cup after supper, saying, this cup is the new covenant in my blood. This do as often as you drink it in remembrance of me. For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's

death till he comes. So there's a word in there, it's the word often. When we do things often, we start losing our sincerity for it. When you feel the presence of God so often, you're just like, yeah, that's normal at Purpose House. Then you begin to treat it as common. Pastor Ed began to say something, I said, just like with water baptism, you guys get to see them go down in the water, but there's so much more to baptism than just the act of dunking somebody in water, and it becomes common to us. There's so much that's happening in the waters of baptism. Demons are fleeing and diseases are being healed because it's not common. And the more often you see it, the more you're going to have to remind yourself that it's not common. So Pastor Ed's going to come and he's going to share some thoughts with you just for a moment. You stay standing. And then I'm going to come back and I'm going to tell you how to get communion. And then Pastor Melissa is going to lead us in the taking of the elements of communion. And so before, as Pastor Ed's coming, when we get ready to take communion, you may wind up with some sort of whale that we stole out of the nursery. We were just finding elements wherever we could find them this morning, about 20 minutes ago. So it isn't the elements that are important. It's your heart and your mind that's important. Amen? So Pastor Ed, come, sir. I just want to share with you in my quiet time this past week. Actually, it was Sunday. We've been on the go for a couple of weeks. Whenever we're out of town on Sunday, if we can go to church, we're going to go to church. So it was on Sunday in my quiet time, the Lord gave me this scripture. It's in Hebrews chapter 2, verse 1. So we must listen very carefully to the truth we have heard, or we may drift away from it. I've even preached on this scripture a couple of times, so I put it in the back of my mind. But when I got to church, I sensed the presence of God. And it was communion Sunday for this particular church. It's a smaller church, and it was old school communion where you come up and you take the bread and you dip it in the juice and then you eat it. And the Lord spoke so plainly during communion. He said, Ed, we should not take the things of God for granted. The things of God should not become just common to us. And as I began to pray into that, I was sensing that the Lord was saying, hey, this is more than just about communion. Yes, but when you think about communion and what it stands for, it's not just a couple of times a year that we're going to get a cracker and we're going to get some juice and we're going

to read a particular passage of scripture and all is well. And as I was thinking on this this week, the Lord brought something to my mind. And some of the newer cars, they have what they call radar assistant cruise. OK, that means that it has radar in the front of your car and that once you set the cruise, it does everything for you. That it can sense cars and traffic ahead of you, so it will slow down. Once that traffic clears up, guess what it will do? It'll speed back up. And if it gets to a place where traffic is congested, it will even stop the car for you and start back up again. And what I was sensing is that this is not the time for us as Christians to put ourselves on cruise control. This is not the time. This is not the season where the things of God should become common to us. We should not take it for granted that we can gather in a church like this this morning. We should not take the presence of God, being able to experience the presence of God for granted. We should not take for granted being able to pray, have communion. read our Bible, hear God, allow God to witness to us. We should not take for granted praise and worship in our quiet times. We should not take for granted just having the ability to come together and gather with other believers. We should not put ourselves on cruise control. So I don't know where you are this morning. I don't know where you're at and what you're going through. And when you think about that passage of scripture in Hebrews, if you go back and you look at why Hebrews, the book of Hebrews was written, it was written to Judaizers who had become Christians. They were expecting Christ's return to be very imminent. And when it did not happen in that timeframe, they were in risk of losing everything they had and going back to living the way that they used to live. So this morning, this morning, do not take for granted the word of God that we hear

on a weekly basis. Do not take the things of God for granted because when you think about drifting away, drifting away does not happen all at once. You just don't walk out of the church and backslide because one day you just don't feel like it. No, that has started a long time ago. And because we take the things for granted, that drift is gradual. We don't even recognize when we're drifting. Simply because the things of God has just become so common to us. We do this every Sunday. They say that every week, here go pastor again. He said that a couple of weeks ago, but we need to be careful that we do not allow ourselves to drift. You let down in one area, you drift. You let down in another area, you drift. You start reading your word, you're drifting. You don't enjoy the presence of God. You don't seek the presence of God, we're drifting. We're listening to all the voices in the world, we're drifting. What the world says, what Washington DC says is more important than what the Holy Spirit and the word of God is saying, we're drifting. And before you know it, we find ourselves way out in left field. So saints, I believe what the Lord is saying to us

that in this season in which we're in, that the things of God should not become common. And I wrote something in my Bible and I read it. I made a note long time ago. It says that salvation is precious. It must be protected and also preserved. Thank you. So if we just have just a little bit more light because I'm gonna ask him to walk. If you're down on the main floor, there are buckets on the stage with filled with communion elements. If you are in the balconies, we would like for you to come down the outside stairwell and go back up the center and they're gonna serve you communion just behind the back row of the main floor. So if you're in the balconies, if you come out and come down the outside and then go back up to your seat through the center stairwells, so we have one way traffic. So if we can just bring up the lights just a little bit so that they can see to walk. If you're on the main floor, down here on the altar of buckets, there's probably still buckets over the response tables for you to get a communion. And again, if you don't get what we would call normal communion,

you wind up with Skittles and a Coke, it'll work too. It sounds pretty good right now. That's what it is. In Luke chapter 21, and I am reading from the New King James, so y'all need to pray for me. If you don't know, I'm an NLT. Anything but New King James. Okay. But Jesus sits down with his disciples. So this is something Jesus desired to have communion with them. He desired to be in union with them. So when we take communion together as a body, we're not just taking it together individually. We're taking it corporately together. You're coming into union with the person beside you. It's communion with each other. It's communion with the Father. So Jesus tells them, he says, with fervent desire. I have desire to eat this Passover with you. Now Jesus is telling them that I'm the Passover lamb. I'm the one. They didn't have a clear understanding yet, but it was about ready to be revealed. And so he tells them that he has a fervent desire. Can I tell you that God has a fervent desire to commune with you? He has a fervent desire for you to understand what the new covenant means in your life. So I'm going to say this. I want you to be honest. How many of you are struggling physically in your body today? And I'm going to be honest because I am. Okay. We're receiving this communion into our bodies today, believing, healing, in Jesus' name. By his stripes we are healed. That's part of the new covenant. Okay. How many of you, if you were honest today spiritually, you just need a refreshing raise your hand. You're receiving a supernatural infusion of power with this communion today. How many of you, if you were honest mentally, your mind has just been attacked by the enemy and you just need the water, the water of the blood, to wash over your mind. All right. Today we're receiving that. It's going to wash every crevice. How many of you need it emotionally? Emotionally you've just been struggling. There's just

been so many things and you just need emotional strength and renewing. Raise your hand. All right. Emotionally we're going to receive the power of the blood and every promise when his body was broken for us. Amen. So if you'll take your communion elements and as soon as I'm done doing this, I just want you to stay where you're at because God desires to pray with a specific group of people today, which I'm going to give you as soon as I'm done. So I don't want you to move. I know you've got trash. Just hold on to it. This is a reverent moment and I don't want anyone to miss their moment. Amen. Do you want anyone to miss their moment? I don't. So as soon as we're done, I'm going to pray and then I'm going to call for a specific group of people and at that time, John Gordon, you need to be ready. If you'll take your communion elements, we're going to start with the bread. Jesus said, this is my bread. This is my body. He gave thanks and he says this is given for you and so I want you to take the bread and I want you to eat the bread in remembrance of everything that he did for you on the cross. Every part of his body that was wounded. Every part. It was broken for you. Take the bread and as you're chewing that in your mouth, I want you to think of every time that you bite down on that bread. That was just a lash on his back. It was a crown of thorns on his head and it was broken for you and it was broken for her. Now let's take the juice. This is the blood. We sang about the blood earlier. I had no idea this was going to happen. I just felt the blood so strongly. This is the blood. He took the cup and he gave thanks and he said, I will not drink of the fruit of the vine until I've eaten of the fruit of the vine. So the kingdom comes, and this is my blood that was shed for you on Calvary. This is my blood, and in this blood, there's healing, there's wholeness, there's forgiveness of sins, there's restoration, there's redemption, there's healing,

there's supernatural power. That's in the blood, and that blood was shed for you, and you, and you, and you, and me. And so as you take this blood, as you drink the juice and assemble of the blood, I want you to receive in every promise that comes with that. Let's take the blood together. Stay where you are. I'm gonna pray, and then I'm gonna give a directive. I'm ready to pray. Father, we thank you. We thank you for the blood that was shed on Calvary. Lord, the nails in your hands and in your feet, the crown of thorns that pierced your head, what happened to your body so that it could produce the blood, mm, every thorn that was shoved into your brow, every lash on your back, every time they beat you, every time they hit you, every time, Lord, something happened to you, and then you had to carry that cross. Lord, all of that was done for us to receive the new covenant into our lives, to receive healing, forgiveness, restoration, all those things that's promised, Lord, when we accept you as our Lord and Savior, and we declare you to be the Lord of our life. So, Lord, for all those that are receiving in physically today, healing be manifested. For those, God, who are receiving spiritually, this let a spiritual fervency,

nothing would be common anymore, or they would be rejuvenated in their spirit. Lord, those who need a mental refreshing, Lord, every lie of the enemy be destroyed by the power of the blood. Those who need emotional strength right now, God, Lord, give them strength and endurance and rest and peace. God, those who are trusting you to be their gyra, the provider, or make ways when there seem to be no way. We thank you, Father. We thank you, Jesus. In Jesus' name, amen. There was a word that went across this morning. So, before we collect the trash, before we do all that, I want to heed this moment as we celebrate with another baptism. Thank you, Jesus. Amen, amen, amen, thank you, Jesus. If there's someone, if you are in this room, and here's what I want you to do. I want you to do what Jesus told the man with the withered hand to do. He told him, he said, get up and go forward. That's exactly what he told him to do. Get up and come forward. So, I'm saying this to you this morning. If you are struggling, or you have received a diagnosis of cancer, I want you to get up and come forward. If you are struggling,

There was a word that came forth this morning that John needed to pray with anyone who has been struggling or diagnosed with that. If you'll just, if you'll just pray with me right now. In Jesus' name. There's no healing in hiding, and God wants to meet you right where you're at today, in Jesus' name, amen? I'm gonna turn this service over to Pastor Jason, but I want you to be praying right now. Pray as if it was your loved one. Pray as if it were you that had been diagnosed.
