We've been in the series, What About, looking at the questions that people have, real life questions, things that you're like, can I talk to God about this or not? We started off the story after Jesus' resurrection in Luke where he's walking alongside, Jesus is, two people, they don't know it's him. And they're pouring out their doubts and their questions and they're wondering what's next and why did this happen and they were dejected. We found that Jesus is not afraid of our doubt. We can actually talk to Jesus, we can look at the scriptures for that. In fact, as a matter of fact, in the story, Jesus redirects their questions into the scriptures. And that's a good pattern for all of us to have that we can take our doubts, our fears, our concerns and look into the Bible, it can have a profound impact in how we see things and understand. How many know he sees it all? And so if we can look to the author of creation and we can look at the author of scripture, we can understand in our own story how to deal with our questions. We looked at what about suffering and what about the church? And then last week, we started what would be kind of a part one of what about the Holy Spirit? And we looked at those things and Phil did just a great job, didn't he?

As he shared about the Holy Spirit, I just love it, Phil. Phil brings his own energy, you know, he just brings it in and really grateful for it. One of the things that he talked about is that we, and he looked at John with us, is that Jesus promised a counselor, a divine mentor, if you will, that would come after Jesus called the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit would guide the disciples and it would require their obedience to Holy Spirit the same as they had had obedience with Jesus. And if we don't have that, we miss out on the guidance that God wants to bring into our stories. And in Acts chapter one, why don't you turn with me, we are going to see the kind of before Jesus leaves, he's already resurrected, and he's given his last instructions to his disciples and he says in verse number four, once when he was eating with them, he commanded them, do not leave Jerusalem until the Father sends you the gift he promised, as I told you before. John baptized with water, but in just a few days, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Now, this is the moment Jesus says, I'm gonna go away, now you need to go to Jerusalem and you need to wait for the divine mentor. You need to wait for his leadership and wait for where Holy Spirit is going to lead you. And as we ended last week, Phil kind of led us into the spot of almost like a to be continued episode.

We've walked through all of the promises and there's a cliffhanger, now we need to come back in on the other side and understand what happened next. What did the disciples do with their instructions? Did they receive the promise that the Father had given them? All the promises of the Messiah have been fulfilled, the death on the cross, the resurrection from the dead, now there's more promises to be fulfilled. And today's title of my message is this, start downloading, start downloading. Turn to the person next to you and say, start downloading. So there was something that would happen, they would receive, if you will, a fresh download. And I would like to say, I would like to put our lives kind of into the disciples' lives. We've received the promise, now we've heard about it, but now are we gonna download it? Are we gonna bring it into our stories? If the disciples didn't do that, what would the story have been? Would Jesus' teaching have stuck with them? Would they have continued to follow Jesus and the voice of the Spirit? Did they obey? And of course, we know they did obey. In fact, some of your Bibles, if you opened up into Acts, it said the Acts of the Apostles. So they did do it, actually should be the Acts of the Holy Spirit through the Apostles. But the biggest questions kind of arise

even in our own moments as a pastor, as one that has preached to people over a few decades now, teenagers and young adults and then Sunday morning church. Some of the biggest questions for me are, will she succeed beyond this moment? Will he finish the race? Will they do what the word says is possible? After I've looked at it and I've observed people, I've observed my own life, there is one fundamental rule regardless of personality or family background or career or where you come from. The people who are thriving and remain in the center of God's mission for their life years later are the people who stay close to the voice of God at every stage in every phase of life. It's not just the hearing the promise and it's not just the initial download. It's learning to keep going back and back and back to the voice, to the divine mentor that knows how to lead us through every season of our life. If people did not receive constant updates or updated downloads, I've observed people are more open to spiritual attack, they're vulnerable, some their faith breaks down, they've lost track of his voice, they've lost their first love. See, we all need fresh downloads. You know, if you take out your cell phone or go onto your computer, you get little notifications sometimes.

There's new software available, you need the update. Some of you are like me, you're like, I'm gonna wait a day. I don't know if I want this update yet. But the cell phone will receive updates so that it works when the signal is sent. Huge updates that help us run our applications, our computers, and then even on the refresh bar of our browser, we wanna hit the refresh button because the page we see might not be the most current page. The kingdom of God is meant to be portable, on wheels, and refreshed regularly. Jesus says when he leads his disciples on how to pray, he says, let your kingdom come. Our father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Let your kingdom, what is he saying? When you pray, I want the refreshed version of the kingdom into today. I want it now, I want it in there. Galatians 5.25, Paul says since we live by the spirit, let us keep in step with the spirit. We need to start downloading right now. Turn to the person next to you and say start downloading. Ha ha ha ha. Thankfully, the first disciples obeyed and they followed through. You see, Jesus promised that something would happen to them if they obeyed. And they had to go out on faith in Acts 1.8. Jesus goes on to give them the promise and he says this. But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit

comes upon you and you will be my witnesses telling people about me everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. Jesus promises if you obey, you're gonna receive something from the Holy Spirit. You're gonna receive power. When the Holy Spirit comes upon you, he says, that power enables you to do things. Now you can do it under your human strength, but there's a supernatural strength that enables you to keep doing it. You keep doing everything by sheer willpower and you will not make it. You need more than your willpower to live the kingdom life. Come on, somebody. You need supernatural power and this is what, you know, this assignment that the purpose that the disciples had after Jesus left, they were to go and do something. We have assignments from God as well to go and do the kingdom of God in our lives. And he says this, he says, don't go do that without the power. Don't try to do it because you'll get tired. You'll wanna give up. Now I don't do jogging and running anymore. I used to do it back in the day and they told me, and it's probably a better idea for your back and your knees you pick some other exercises and I love to bike in the summertime.

I love to do that. But there were times when I was in my running years where I started off with full confidence that I'm gonna run this three miles. And at about three quarters of a mile, I started getting tired. Anybody know what I'm talking about? And so my brain, before I started, said I can do this. But then reality hit me. Now I had to develop endurance, and I had to develop, I had to have the ability to push past certain walls, mental blocks. Things that said quit, voices in my head that said quit. I had to learn to do that over time. I'm gonna tell you this. When you're living the life that God has led you into, the purpose that God put you on the planet for, you're gonna need the Holy Spirit to push past some of those thresholds in your life. You don't need to quit on your marriage. You don't need to give up on what God has called you to do. You don't need to quit on your kids. Come on, somebody. No, we need to keep going. I would even say this, in America, with all the distraught and all the political turmoil and all the other things that are going on, you know what, as a church, we need to be the kind of people like, no, we're for America.

No, we're for our neighbors. No, we're for the people in leadership. No, we're for those. Even when we hit the walls of doubt, no, we need the Holy Spirit reminding us, he's called us to be salt and light in this place. I don't need to move to Florida to be salt and light. Come on, somebody. I can be it right here, right now. That was just a little, I'm sorry to all my snowbird friends that are here in the summer. You guys go to the best time in Minnesota and the best time in Florida. I get it, life is good for you. Just make sure you're still relying on the Holy Spirit and not the sunshine. Come on, somebody. Come on, somebody. So Jesus basically tells them they're gonna be witnesses everywhere that they go. They're gonna talk about Jesus. When Holy Spirit fills someone, there's an ability or a desire to talk about it. It's like it's so life-changing. I gotta share this with other people. And Jesus basically tells them a fresh download is coming. They had already received the Holy Spirit's indwelling after the resurrection.

And he appeared to the disciples in John's account, in the book of John, the letter. Jesus said this. Again, he said, peace be with you to his disciples. This is before he was ascended. As the Father has sent me, so I am sending you. Then he breathed on them and said, receive the Holy Spirit. Now this is a moment before Acts 2. Jesus says, receive the Holy Spirit. When we repent of our sin and put our faith in Christ alone for forgiveness and salvation, the Holy Spirit resides in us. You cannot be saved without the Holy Spirit. Jesus, when he was talking to Nicodemus in John chapter 3, he was talking to him and he just said, basically, listen, unless you're born again and water into the Spirit, you can't be born again. So we can't do this on our own willpower. We need the Holy Spirit. You receive the Holy Spirit and resides in you when you are saved. The Spirit of God does internal change in our lives. He gives us a new heart, a new Spirit. He puts his Spirit in us and we become children of God. We are born spiritually into the family of God. Come on, somebody. I mean, there's just something about that. We need to like celebrate our spiritual birthdays like we do our earthly birthdays, right? Like, no, there's something.

Aren't you glad you aren't who you were years ago? The Holy Spirit moved in, but he didn't just end with salvation, it didn't end with birth, but he's growing us, changing us. We're beginning to think more like Jesus because the Holy Spirit is in us. But the baptism of the Holy Spirit is different than receiving the Spirit. It's another encounter with the Spirit of God beyond salvation. Acts 1, 5, John baptized with water, but in just a few days, you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit, Jesus says. So the same people that Jesus breathed the Holy Spirit in them when the disciples received that. He also says you're gonna have another encounter with the Holy Spirit. You'll be baptized. When he used the word baptized, the disciples must have thought of the image of people being baptized in the water by John the Baptist. Dunked in the water. to remember what happened with Jesus when he was baptized. So when Jesus says, you'll be baptized in the Holy Spirit, there's another encounter, like you're dunked in the Holy Spirit. Something's gonna happen. They didn't know exactly what that meant. They didn't understand all those things, but they knew it wasn't just a small thing.

You don't have to be afraid of spirit baptism that Jesus is talking about. Because if you've trusted Jesus with your life and your eternity, then you can trust him as your baptizer in the Holy Spirit. This is really what, if you read through Luke and Acts, same author, he carries through the movement of the Holy Spirit with Jesus, and he promises, it drops seeds throughout the book of Luke about the Holy Spirit being with us just as the Holy Spirit was with Jesus. That we have that promise. And I have found that in my story of walking alongside people in our church, depending on your background, how you feel about spirit baptism has been influenced by other voices. I would just encourage you, move away from just even the voices of your past and just start reading the Bible. Without all the categories and all the yeah buts, listen, this promise was for all of us. It didn't end with the apostles. Jesus' promise for salvation didn't end with the apostles. Jesus' promises didn't end. There's no end date. There's no expiration date. We still have the opportunity to participate in what is in the word. You don't have to be afraid of that spirit baptism.

Just trust in Jesus. When Jesus was being addressed by John the Baptist in Matthew chapter 3, 11, I want you to see how John the Baptist talked about Jesus. He says, I baptize with water those who repent of their sins and turn to God. But someone is coming soon who is greater than I am, so much greater than I am not worthy even to be his slave and carry his sandals. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire. One of the titles of Jesus is a baptizer of the Holy Spirit. Start downloading. Tap into the present tense power of God by saying, Jesus, I know you as my Savior. I want to know you as my baptizer in the Holy Spirit. Jesus does follow through in Acts chapter 2 because as the disciples gathered together and the believers in Acts chapter 2, it says on the day of Pentecost, all the believers were meeting together in one place. And suddenly there was a sound from heaven like the roaring of a mighty windstorm. And it filled the house where they were sitting. Then what looked like flames or tongues of fire appeared and settled on each of them. And everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability. So Jesus promised something, now it's happening. On the day of Pentecost, which is a religious festival

that happens every year, like Easter, like Christmas in the Jewish calendar, they were all celebrating, but on that day, there was something new. And they were meeting in one place in one accord. They had unity. They were waiting for Jesus to fulfill the promise. And I just tell you there is power in unity. It's required for God to work, for the Spirit of God to work in any situation. Unity in a church, unity in a family, unity in a business, unity in a community. When there's disunity, it disrupts the Spirit's flow. I'd like you to think of a wheel, like a bike wheel, if you will. And you see all the spokes that are going to the center? Unity is like all those spokes, and the center is Jesus. The closer you get to the center, you get to Jesus, the closer you get to each other. And that wheel won't get moving if there's disunity. If there's disunity amongst people, then we won't get closer to Jesus. Suddenly, from heaven, there's this sound, because they were gathered together in one place. one place, and there's like a roaring of a mighty windstorm. There's sights and sounds, and listen, this is real audible wind. And like Jesus said in John chapter three, you don't know where it's coming from and you don't know where it's going, but you know it's there.

And there was an audible wind, and then there's this, something filled the room, and it looked like flames or tongues of fire settled on each of them, and it was a spectacular I don't know, they didn't use green screens back then. This was not CGI. This was real stuff going on, and then the people, all the people were filled. Everyone was filled. They were dunked. They were baptized in the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit was all around them, and it affected their senses. It affected how they saw things. It affected their hearing. Something changed, and everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages. Because there was a festival called Pentecost, people were in Jerusalem from all over the world, and you can see in Acts chapter two, they began to, all the people, all the languages, all the regions that were represented, there were multiple languages out there, and they began to hear those languages, and the crowd began to hear those languages, and the event caught the attention of all the crowds around that were visiting in Jerusalem, and in Acts chapter two, Luke lists all the foreigners who heard their languages spoken.

Look at this. It says in verse seven, they were completely amazed. How can this be, they exclaimed. These people are all from Galilee, and yet we hear them speaking in our own native languages. Here we are, Parthians, Medes, Elamites, people from Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Apatists in the province of Asia, Phrygia, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the areas of Libya around Cyrene, visitors from Rome, both Jews and converts to Judaism, Cretans and Arabs, and we all hear these people speaking in our own language about the wonderful things God has done. They stood there amazed and perplexed. What can this mean, they asked each other. What God was doing in that moment caused people outside to ask questions. What can this mean? And this is a powerful moment because God has a vision for his gospel to be for every nation, for every language group, locally and around the world. I think of the moment that we're in in Minnesota where we have people from all over the world that have descended on our state, and some people can get upset and worried and insecure about outsiders coming in, or we can look at it and go, no, this is a setup for Pentecost. It's a setup for what God could do with people who are unified and downloading. Turn to the person next to you and say, start downloading.

Peter then begins to speak to the crowd, and he gets up and he speaks and he says, know what you see was predicted long ago by the prophet Joel. In the last days, he's beginning to quote Joel chapter two. In the last days, God says, I will pour out my spirit upon all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. As he quotes from Joel two, he embeds this moment in a much larger context. This was promised from a long time ago. And not only was it promised for one moment, it was promised for everything beyond that moment into the future. In the last days, he says, now the last days were initiated by the Messiah. Between Jesus' death, resurrection, and ascension, and now we are living in the last days. We're waiting for the last of the last days when Jesus returns. And there are prophetic things yet to be fulfilled in the scripture that will happen down the road. But in that moment, we see the promise fulfilled, that he would pour out his spirit on all people. I want you to know how significant this is because every time you see the spirit moving in the Old Testament, and it's so many times, prophets, leaders,

and in ways you don't even think of, it was for specific purposes. and it was one person. It was a prophet, it was a king, it was an individual that God intended to use. But in the New Testament, it goes from one person who holds the microphone, so to speak, and it goes to everybody else in the room. Now the Spirit wants to move and work through average, everyday people as we are dunked in the Holy Spirit. Now I'm not talking about being crazy, it doesn't mean you're gonna get up here and start preaching. I've got that covered this morning, okay? And I'm not even saying that you become some kind of whatever your charismatic craziness picture is. Really, it's about the assignment that God gives you with the personality God gives you to do what God has called you to do. You need supernatural power, and now it's available to everyone. He says there, I will pour out my Spirit upon all people. Sons and daughters will prophesy. I used to get weirded out about the word prophecy because I imagine some, I grew up in a Pentecostal church setting, and there was always some old guy in the back yelling in a service, saying something,

and I would hold on and get uptight about it. Now I know that that old guy probably was hearing from God, I just didn't understand at that point, and I was resistant to it. But this isn't about prophecies as in end times apocalyptic Jeremiah prophecies. Prophecy is just speaking God-inspired words to the people around us. Did you know that God wants moms to speak God-inspired words to their kids? That God wants people that go to work to speak God-inspired words to others? And you don't have to preface it with, thus saith the Lord. It could be, did you know I prayed for you, and God loves you and he sees you? And it could change a person's life. He says that not only special people, but now even children, sons and daughters, who haven't yet gone through their education. I believe that sons and daughters can be prophesiers. They can hear God's voice sometimes better than we can. Kids in elementary school that are worshiping Jesus, they don't have all the critic in their head saying that's not God, you can't listen to that, what about this, no, no, no. No, they're just like, okay, faith of a child. And they're able to access those things, they can prophesy. So the Holy Spirit isn't just for adults

or mature people or perfect people, in fact, there's nobody that is perfect, but the Holy Spirit's poured out and we can prophesy, communicating God's present tense love to the world around us on Tuesday afternoon, not just Sunday in church. Then it says this, and this is kind of, I was sitting, Jody and I got away for three days last week, and we went to another church in Sacramento, California. We were sitting in church and God began to speak to me during worship, so I sat down during worship, don't judge me, and I pulled out my phone and I started writing some thoughts. And the next thing that really got a hold of me was your young men will see visions. Visions scripturally were visual sight, seeing spiritual things, God things. Plural, more than one, visions. Like it's kind of a part of life. Multiple times in Acts, after this moment, you see Peter and Cornelius, you see Ananias and Saul, you see these moments where God gives visions when people are waiting on him. They're awake, but then they have a vision, if you will. There was a vision I had at Emanuel when I was just a volunteer and going to North Central University. Back in 1993, came to church and in Spring Lake Park, our sanctuary was half the size that it used to be

for those that are in a room. You can imagine everything to this side is where the church was and there was nothing else. There was just a wall. In fact, I would actually be preaching to the wall right now, back in those days. And I had this vision, because we had Sunday night church and we had altar time. They came Sunday night, they came for altar time. It was time to wait on the Holy Spirit. Whatever Pastor Daniels preached, he preached, but then we had the altar time. And that was the time where we put our heart on the altar and our ears were open to whatever the Holy Spirit said. And I came up to the altar and I was a college student. You know, where I was going in my life, I was dating Jodi at the time, I think we were engaged already. We're kind of unknown about our future, and we get down and God gives me a vision. And in the vision, I see the wall gone. And I see people coming in to peer into what was going on in church. And there was no seats for them, and most of the people were not from Minnesota. They had different skin tones, they had different languages, and they had different, even how they, clothing they wore, and they were peering in. And in the vision, I was getting up

and I was grabbing chairs for them, and I was putting these chairs up so that they could be a part of the service. And I was so compelled by that, it moved me and I realized, oh my goodness, God is gonna do something new in the future. Who would have known that I would become the pastor of the church? That the church would indeed physically double, and then we would become a house of prayer for all nations. Who would have known that? But God gave vision for that. Your young men will see visions, and your old men will dream dreams. This is the one that got me here last week. Because I'm entering a monumental birthday coming up, and I can't drive 55, right? And so I'm feeling the olds, and I'm not feeling the olds. And those of you that have been there know this, you don't feel old ever. But I'm recognizing, I'm in this window of time, and I've been pastoring now for 35 years, and I've been a part of ministry and everything, and I'm in another church, and God's speaking to me, and I was drawn to the old men will dream dreams. Why, why dreams? And why old men? Well, the word is actually Presbyterian, which means elders. Elders weren't just a matter of chronological age,

they were people that held responsibility. You could be a 30-year-old old person if you have lots of people that you employ. You could be, if you have a family and you have kids, you're old to your kids, newsflash. So the old, I wanted to, I felt like the Holy Spirit was removing me from the age aspect of that, into the stage aspect of that. And thinking in terms of my own journey, God has moved and has spoken, and then it says here, one of the things that will happen when the Holy Spirit is poured out is the old men will dream dreams. Dreams are throughout the scripture. You see dreams in Genesis, where God visits Abraham and Jacob and Joseph, the dreamer. An angel came to Joseph, Jesus' earthly stepdad, if you will, and he was about to divorce Mary because she was pregnant. So God sends an angel to Joseph in a dream to say, don't divorce her. It affected the actions of Joseph beyond the dream. I think that Acts dreams direct where the gospel would go, what happens next, and that the Holy Spirit wants to speak through dreams. When I was in college, and I went to visit my grandparents in Kansas, and I remember I fell asleep, I was in my first or second year at North Central, and while I was in that moment where I was deciding what am I gonna do with my life, I can't understand.

I could go business route, I'm going to Bible college, but maybe that's just a stage and a phase for me, but what's really important, and in the middle of the night I have a dream, and in that dream, I'm around a swimming pool, and I look in the swimming pool and there are dozens of bodies in the swimming pool, and I look around, I'm like, is anybody gonna go get these people out, and there's nobody to do it. So nobody was there, so I started diving in, trying to pull out as many bodies as I could out of the pool, as if the Holy Spirit was saying to me, your life is about people, about souls. It's a compelling thing about my future. Listen, when God speaks in dreams, it compels you into your future. Let me just say this about some of you that battle bad dreams, evil dreams, dark dreams. Those are not God dreams, and you need to have your mind sanctified, maybe address and say in your spirit, even today, Holy Spirit, break the tide to the evil things, the evil dreams are coming in. Fear is, that kind of fear is not from God. The fear of God produces peace. The fear of God produces contentment and joy. The fear of God might make you change your life, might make you stop doing some things. But here's my thought on this. How many people under the sound of my voice today are dreaming God dreams? You've learned, you've got the competency down,

you've worked hard on being a mom or a dad, you've had your moments at camp, you've had your time when you heard and felt God years and years ago. But I think God wants to pour out his spirit on leaders, on elders, on people who have responsibility. I say this to people who have been in the church for a long time, been there, done that, got the t-shirt. It might even say Pentecostal on your t-shirt. When was the last time you had a spirit dream? When was the last time God stirred you for something new in the future? Turn to the person next to you and say, start downloading. Peter tells the crowd in verse 18, in those days I will pour out my spirit even on my servants, men and women alike, and they will prophesy. And I will cause wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below. Blood and fire and clouds of smoke and the sun will become dark and the moon will turn blood red before that great and glorious day of the Lord of rise. But everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. He is pouring out his spirit on men and women, on everyone. God will cause there to be wonders in the heavens, signs on the earth. The sun will become dark and the moon turn red before the day of the Lord.

And I know there are a lot of people worried about end times and UFOs and all kinds of other things. Don't be surprised by anything. Be looking to Jesus and asking for a download of the Holy Spirit. Don't get your eyes off on something else. He said things are gonna happen, they're going to happen, but let's be filled with the spirit in the moment we're in and not be distracted by those things. Come on, somebody. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. Terrorists who call on the name of the Lord will be saved. People on the other side of the political aisle from you, if they call on the name of the Lord, they will be saved. That's the dream. What I hear the spirit provoking us with today is this, the promise of the spirit goes beyond our salvation. We are empowered to be witnesses of Jesus. If you've lost the desire to share Jesus with people around you, you need a fresh download. And it can't just be more empathy that you drum up because we all got compassion fatigue for needs around us. We can't get it from just around us, we need to get it from the Holy Spirit. And I was baptized in the Holy Spirit decades ago, but I need a fresh download today. And if you've never been baptized in the Holy Spirit, you need to look to Jesus as the baptizer

in the Holy Spirit and let him dunk you afresh today. We're gonna give time and room for that tonight in the Holy Spirit night, where we're just waiting on God for his promise. And he can do whatever he wants to do when he wants to do it. We're not looking for outward shows, we're not trying to keep up with anybody else. We aren't even gonna necessarily do what we did 10 years ago. We're just saying, Lord, we need a fresh outpouring in our church today. The promises of God that he will make you a witness and the same order in there for witness is the word martyr. A martyr is not afraid to die for what they believe in. The Holy Spirit will give you the kind of strength to face the most difficult obstacles and resistance in your life. That's what the Holy Spirit does. When God pours out his spirit, something happens. He will enable you to not fear. We become inspired, God-empowered. Prophecy is God-inspired speech, Lord, let more of that come. come out of my mouth. Salvation is once, but the pouring out of the Spirit is continual. We need a fresh download. We need heaven's real-time security software. We need to update our connection together. The young need to see visions,

to be laser-focused on real assignments from Jesus in our marriages, in our families, and at work. We need the Holy Spirit to help us see what He sees. The next generation needs a genuine outpouring that they've never seen. An authentic encounter with Jesus, the baptizer in the Holy Spirit. The old, no matter their perspective, need to dream dreams. We've been there, done that. Yeah, it's time to dream again. To be stirred, to be moved, to be bothered, to be provoked by the Spirit into facilitating a move of God in the generations around us. If you break through, you break through for everyone underneath you. If you break through, something happens in the others around you. But you gotta go there. You gotta start downloading. Why does the Spirit pour out, causing the elders of the Presbyterals to dream? Because we are the gatekeepers. We are the intercessors. We can remove obstacles and fight in spiritual warfare. We can't do it the way the world does it. Second Corinthians 10, three through five. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does.

The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God. And we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. That's what we can do. Would you stand with me today, church? We may or may not have time to sing in every one of our locations today. The singing is not what's important. In fact, I want you walking out hungry for tonight. Hungry for being with the presence of the Lord. Hungry for a fresh download. We need to obey God and do what he said just as the early disciples needed to. We need to confess where we're at. We need to update our confessions. Some of us confessed our sins years ago, but now we need to drop our guard and go, sorry, God. Because when you do that, you pour out whatever's inside of you so you can receive what he's pouring out. Some of us are too full with other things, idols, things that we've been chasing. We need to confess, Lord, I'm sorry. I've substituted the infilling of the Holy Spirit with other things.

We need to come together and pursue Jesus and his promises and get ready for what is coming. Would you just lift your hands to heaven with me right now? Father, we come before you and we thank you, Lord, that you see us, you know us, you know what's best for us. I thank you, Lord, that you are not done with anyone under the sound of my voice. Lord, I thank you, Lord, for the promise of new birth, of being born again. Lord, I thank you that there are people today in church, they're going to be born again. They're going to give their life to you and you will make them new. I thank you, Lord, for our own salvation, those of us that have already been born again. I thank you, Holy Spirit, that you're with us right now. But we also recognize that Jesus said there's more to this. There's more to this partnership with the Holy Spirit. And so, Lord, we wait for a fresh download and we ask, oh God, you would start downloading in our soul. Help us to not be afraid of it's in your word and it's balanced by your word. And we can trust you, Lord. We can come in alignment with heaven and I pray, God, that our families, our neighborhoods, our workplaces would, Lord, experience, Lord, the movement of the kingdom of heaven through everyone, men and women, young and old. And, Lord, we would see visions and dream dreams when we pray it in Jesus' name, amen, amen, amen.
