Jesus went to the cross of Calvary, yes, to save you, most importantly, but it is also by his stripes that we are healed. He has given a provision for every area of your life.

He was bruised for our iniquities, meaning the things on the inside of us, he's also taken care of. So more than likely, you're probably standing next to somebody or sitting next to somebody unless you're at home and you're living in a room that you don't know. But if you would be so kind, would you join with them in whatever way you would feel comfortable? Either take them by the hand or put your hand on their shoulder or however you feel comfortable in doing that. The reason why we do this is now we're coming into covenant with one another. But the Bible says where two or three agree on anything, one thing, he would do that for us. And so I'm going to pray, but I want you to pray along with me and you join with me online right now as well. Heavenly Father, every need, every need that was represented in this place. Lord, it was represented with uplifted hands, uplifted voices, uplifted hearts, but we ask that you would meet every need according to your great riches in glory. Lord, that you would overwhelm and overtake your people today with your glory, with your power, with your presence. Lord, that your blood that you shed for us all those years ago, it is still powerful today. And that it would heal their bodies.

It would touch their minds. It would reconcile their families. It would restore marriages. It would bring peace that passes all understanding. It would give joy that is unspeakable and full of your glory into every life, into every heart, into every marriage, into every home. Lord, we speak your name over every situation for your name is the highest name that we can call on. It is at your name that every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that you are Lord. You are sovereign over everything. And so Lord, we submit everything that we have to you right now. And every disease and sin and iniquity must flee right now in the name of Jesus. And Lord, send your word right now and heal us all right now. In Jesus' mighty name. And all of God's people said, amen. It's if Jesus can create a miracle and be risen from the dead I can preach less than three hours But at any time throughout this service you feel call of God To take a step for him. I would encourage you to do that However, you feel that that is if it's a step towards baptism, that's a great step Baptism is an outward declaration of an inward decision You've decided to follow Christ and now you're going to make an outward declaration Through the waters of baptism and our baptism teams are always ready for you to those that if you heard me those that are tuning in from the 423 prisons across this nation We've been getting your letters We've been getting your prayer requests And so I do want to celebrate this we've been on that broadcast now for three weeks And we just got our first salvation out of the broadcast into the prisons. No, can we celebrate that right now? We're having salvations in the prisons And to all of our brothers and sisters in the parchment prison We'll be back in like two or three weeks. We'll see you again in a couple weeks We're there every other month on site and we'll be going back just before Christmas just as we did last year Which is the footage that you've seen there? God is moving in parchment prison and we're thankful for it If you've never heard of parchment if you've ever seen the movie, oh brother, where art thou? It was the second most deadly prison in the United States Outside of Angola prison in Louisiana and God has had a revival in Angola prison And now there's one happening in parchment and we're thankful to be a part of it All right, you ready how many of you are ready for some candy So Don't text the security team or the safety team just in a few moments. The Heron Fire Department is going to arrive. There is no emergency We're just gonna get your kids full of sugar and send them home with you This is the first time I was doing the math this morning I think in 27 years that I will have Easter dinner with my mother So I'm glad that she is here with us today So look at your neighbor on your right and tell them how good they look Now if the person on your right was not your spouse Whether I tell you to or not, you should turn to the other side and tell them how good they look Whether I tell you to or not you should turn to the other side and tell them how good they look So before I give you what I want to preach let me explain to you how this came to be I do watch the news. I watch what's going on and and We are in a season where whatever is going on really in the natural Is kind of telling you what is going on in the spiritual? And this is not a political statement at all, but we are now faced with a mantra Going across our nation where we have the no king No king and I understand the political Pressure behind that statement, but what it's doing Is it's creating an environment where if we don't want a king then we don't want jesus And so I wrote this sermon standing, uh Talking to somebody the other day and I just started got my phone out and they were talking to me God bless that person for being patient and so the title of my sermon today is Silly rabbit So look at your other neighbor and say he's a silly rabbit

But let me give you another one silly devil Jesus is king Yeah All right, you ready? Let's go I'm gonna try to get this done in 17 minutes because i'm gonna try to get out there to the fire truck and grab some Candy from the kids All right But we are we have been raised up as a culture that easter Is about candy and christmas is about gifts That every holiday is now no longer why it was originated But every holiday now turn intends now to move away from the culture of christianity And moving now to a culture that is very pagan And there is a great call the one thing I will reiterate from our president Of the united states also president of universities and just yesterday the government of South Carolina said that it is time for the state of South Carolina and our president has now issued an edict that it is time for America to return to God. It is time for us to get away from all the paganism and hedonistic things and get our moral underpinnings back up underneath us and I would say to our governor that Illinois is not a state that has a death culture. It is a culture that believes that Jesus is king. Jesus is king and so we can have all the plastic eggs and chocolate bunnies and pastel colors and we can get all dressed up but the truth is Easter is not about candy. Easter is about a king. Easter is not about just a symbol. It's not a suggestion. It's not a seasonal moment. It is about a king and not just any king, the king. This king was a prophesied king. He didn't become king this morning at resurrection. He didn't earn his crown at the cross. He was a king before Bethlehem ever happened. In fact Genesis chapter 49 in verse 10 there's a little line there that says the scepter shall not depart from Judah meaning the king's scepter, the authority of the king would not depart from Judah so from the very beginning there was a king that was going to come. In fact

Isaiah said that of this king's government the government would be upon his shoulder and the increase of his government and of his peace there would be no end. That means he's not a temporary ruler. He is not a temporary king and and those of us in the church world he shouldn't just be your king on Sunday. He should be your king every day of the week. He shouldn't just be your king on Easter and Christmas. He should be your king every day of the year. He is an eternal king. Zechariah chapter 9 in verse 9 said behold your king is coming to you lowly and riding on a donkey. That's what we talked about last week. So Palm Sunday when he came in on a donkey wasn't just about a moment. It wasn't just just a simple moment. It was actually a manifestation. They cried Hosanna but they misunderstood him. They wanted what most of us want is a political king but God sent a cosmic king. Then once they got the king then they do what most of us do. They rejected the king. John 1 and 11 said that he came to his own and his own did not even receive him. So the king shows up and they missed him. Why? Because the king didn't fit their expectation. There was no palace, no army, no visible throne. What was there? Just truth. Just authority and power wrapped up in humility. Isaiah said of him he is despised and rejected by men. But they didn't just reject a man. They rejected a king and we still live in a world right now that wants the benefit of Jesus without the authority of Jesus. We want a savior. We just don't want him to be sovereign. Then that's why they crucified this king. We come to the cross that we talked about on Friday night in this building and and we often look at that as a tragedy but it was really a coronation. So they said Jesus and they hung on the cross Jesus of Nazareth the king of the Jews. Now Pilate did it thinking that he was going to mock him. Rome thought that they would humiliate him and hell thought they were defeating him. But heaven said I want you to write it down that he is the king. So how did they write it? They wrote it in Hebrew, Greek, and in Latin. Why? Because God was declaring that this is a king that is not local. He's global. He's the hidden mystery and here's what the scripture reveals when talking about hell in 1st Corinthians chapter 2 and verse 8. For had they known they would

not have crucified the Lord of glory. Well who would have known? Well that's talking about if the devil had known. If the demons had known. If the religious leaders of their time had known they would have left him alone because he was less powerful as a living Messiah than he was as a dying one. Because he wasn't going to stay dead he was getting ready to come back from the grave which is what we celebrate here today. So if hell had known and if the demons had understood and if the enemy had realized what the cross was really going to accomplish they would have never even touched him. Because what looked like defeat was actually divine strategy. The cross was not Satan's victory at all it was actually his Undoing and what they thought would silence him actually released him what they thought would end him actually Exalted him and it happened somewhere that most people never thought it would happen They wanted to do it in Jerusalem, but instead they took him outside of the city Now this is important for us and here in Illinois today and those of us in Southern, Illinois Had he been crucified inside of Jerusalem? It would have been just for the people of Jerusalem it had been just for the Jew But Jesus had to suffer according to Hebrews 13 12 Outside the gate. So if he'd have died inside the city his sacrifice would have been contained into the system just for a people a Covenant boundary but because he died outside the gate. He's stepping beyond limitation He is stepping beyond ethnicity. He is stepping beyond Geography and his blood became not just for the Jew only but also for the Heronites and the Carter villains and the Harrisburg folks and the Murphy burial folk and the Carbondale folk and Illinois folk and the governor and the president of the United States. It wasn't just for a people it was for all people Outside the city meant he wasn't just for the Jew. He's for everybody So now salvation is not restricted grace is not exclusive and redemption is not limited So the King didn't just die for a nation. He died for all creation and they crowned him with thorns But he was still King. They nailed him to a cross, but he was still King. They pierced his hands He's still King. They pierced his feet, but he's still King they beating 39 times He's still King because this King does not rule by force. He rules by sacrifice

Now he's the risen King why because this King doesn't stay buried Every other King that has been crowned and died and we might as well go ahead and talk about the King over there in England Whether you issue an edict or not about this Christian holiday doesn't change the fact that Jesus is still King Some of y'all haven't watched the news but Oh King Charles doesn't want to say anything about Christianity But he'll celebrate Islam go ahead and celebrate Islam all you want. Jesus is still King Because this King doesn't stay buried, but Muhammad still buried I'm just getting fired up just thinking about that Because listen my friend the more they try to push the church down the greater the church comes up The more they try to hurt the church the more powerful the church is they tried to kill this King and all they did was releasing Matter of fact, they thought he was dead in Matthew 28 6 that he is not here for he is He is not here for he is risen The stone was not rolled away. So Jesus could get out On Saturday, he was already out. He had went to hell and preached in hell The reason why the stone was rolled away was not for him to get out It was so that you could go in and see that he is not here He is risen then we could say as the old church folks would say death couldn't hold him Hell couldn't stop him and the grave couldn't contain him That's why Jesus said I am he who lives and was dead and I have the keys Well, what do keys represent? Keys represent authority And on Saturday when everybody thought it was silent He's going to hell and he's taking back what was rightfully his and then gave them to us So now the church has authority so the King took them back Now he's not just king of the Jews. He's king of all Pilate wrote in three languages. He's the king of the Jews And heaven then said wait a second. We need to correct the record He's not just king of the Jews and then we see it in Philippians chapter 2 verses 9 and 11 That at the name of Jesus Not just the Jewish knee Not just the white knee Not just the black knee

Not just the Hispanic knee, but every knee will bow And say that Jesus is Lord At the name of Jesus every knee is going to bow That means that Jesus is king over everything He's king over sin He's king over death He's king over hell He's king over nations He's the king over your past He's the king over your present And he's also the king over your future He's not a tribal king He's not a seasonal king He's not a cultural king He's king of all And Easter asks a question Is he your king? Is he the king of all in your life? The response has to be that we would bow Easter asks one question Not are you excited for candy? Not did you get your picture with the Easter bunny? Not did the hair and fire department give you a picture? and show up and throw sugar out at your kids. Not that the pastor tackle one of your kids and grab his candy and then ask for forgiveness for stealing. And then hiding it and manipulating Melissa into I didn't have any candy, I have no idea what you're talking about.

So the response is not any of that. The question has to be posed, do you believe in him to be your king? Not only do you believe in him, because you wouldn't be here today if you didn't believe in him. Let's take it one step further. This is a more difficult question. Have you bowed to him? Because every knee will bow. Some will bow now in surrender. Others will bow later in realization. But every life will answer or whether or not he is your king. So silly rabbit, silly devil, silly saints. It's not about eggs. It's not about what you're wearing today. It's about a king who came, a king who was rejected, a king who was crucified, a king who rose again, and a king who reigns forever. And today he's not asking about your preferences. He's demanding allegiance. We've had enough of the church saying things with their mouth and not believing in their heart. We have had enough of the part-time preachers and the part-time Christians. This is a day that we must pledge our allegiance to the risen king, the only king.

And I would ask you, have you crowned him king over your life? Or are you still sitting on the throne of your life? So today is a moment for you to step down off of your throne so that God can reign. When Jesus is king, things change. Peace begins to rule where trouble and despair used to be. Purpose awakens where there used to be depression. Power begins to flow in every area of your weakness. And your eternity is secured where you used to have doubt. So Jesus is not just a savior. He's the king. And he's not just the king of the world. He's not just the king of the Jews. He's your king. If ever, and trust me, I've grown up in church my whole life. I'm getting ready to be 49 years old. My father gave his life to Christ when I was two. So I've been in church my whole life and I've heard this my whole life. But all you have to do is watch the news, listen to what's going on. And the king who rose from the dead is getting ready to return. And now if ever there was a time for you to make your calling and election yes and amen, as the scripture said, to make your calling and election sure to know that he is your king,

this is the day to do it. How do you do that? I just want you to take a step with me. I don't need you to step out into the aisle at this moment but what I need you to do is to make a step with me. It's about an 18 inch step. It's the distance from your heart to your mouth. If you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ came to this earth, he lived a sinless life. He was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life. Then at the age of about 33 and a half years old, he laid down his life on the cross of Calvary after all the punishment and the pain they put him through that was really meant for you and for me. And they took all of the injustice that was put on him that was really justice for you and he put all that on himself and he laid down his life. He bowed his head and he said, it is finished me, paid in full. Everything for you has been paid for. All you have to do is believe in your heart then that three days later he rose again. And if you believe that in your heart, the next step for you is to make it from 18 inches from your heart out of your mouth. And if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, then he is faithful and just to forgive us

of all of our unrighteousness and of all of our sin and all of our iniquity and all of our troubles and all of the mess ups and all the issues that we have had in all of our lives. Even if you did it while you were in the parking lot just a few minutes ago, or even if you did it 35 or 40 years ago, it does not matter. Even if you're wearing pinstripes on your pants right now and you're paying the price to society, but Jesus paid a price for you. Amen. All you then have to do is say something out of your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Then he is faithful and just to forgive you of all of your unrighteousness. And if you call upon the name of the Lord. The scripture says you shall be saved. What are you doing? You're taking the crown off of yourself And you're putting the crown on him and you're saying Lord you are sovereign and you are my king Is he your king? Now the choir the team is getting ready to sing a song and they're getting ready to describe to you that everything that this King is to you He is the Alpha and the Omega He is the beginning and he is the end. He is the one who was and is and is to come He is the author and he is the finisher of your faith We could just wrap it up by just saying it like this. Jesus is King But is he your king? Would you stand with me across the building? And if you took that step Just a few minutes I'm going to come back and we're gonna invite you to the front of this place in just a few moments

But even while they're singing if you feel led to come forward our altar teams will meet you here to make sure That he is your king worship with the team as they sing
