Jesus came so lost people could be saved. This church is not a cruise ship where we lay by the pool. This is a battleship and for 23 years we've been on mission for Jesus. For 23 years we've been worshipping Jesus, preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ, reaching lost people, baptizing people, helping people know God and grow in God, discover a purpose and make a difference. We've been on the mission of Jesus. For one reason, to see more changed lives. Come on, come on, yeah! There's a lot of talk going around town. I hear a lot of people running their mouths. Every word like you make a chance breaking it down, down, down. Come on! We've all been looking for a silver lining. Something to hold on to and won't stand in line. I know a place you can go if you want to find it. This is the good news, if you're breathing it's for you. An empty grave, a life that's changed, it all points to Jesus' name. If you've been searching and nothing's been working, I've got good news. Everybody sing, say, Jesus loves you. Open up your eyes and look around. This is the place where your freedom is found. Take a minute, breathe in, watch your life turn upside down. This is the good news, if you're breathing it's for you. An empty grave, a life that's changed, it all points to Jesus' name. If you've been searching and nothing's been working, I've got good news. We sing, say, Jesus loves you. No matter what you bring, He's in love with you, no matter your history. He's in love with you, no matter your unbelief. He's in love with you, from now till eternity.

I can't wait to see you next Sunday. It's going to be a great day today and I'm excited to continue our series, Come and See. Everybody say, Come and See. Come and See. Yesterday there was a young man who got invited to a friend of his wedding and he was single but he knew that he could bring a plus one to this wedding and so he had asked a couple people and was turned down but because of his relationship with his friend, he made the decision, I'm going to go alone. Anybody ever been to a wedding alone? It's a little bit nerve wracking at times. But he went anyway and man, he got out there on that dance floor, come on, he did a little cupid shuffle, a little right to the right, to the right, a little footloose and while he was doing these dances, the line dances, the fun, interactive dances, he caught, his eye caught a lady, he's, oh, I might, I might find me. at this wedding, he's excited, he catch eyes again, the footloose come on, he catch eyes again, he's like, man, is there something here? And then there comes that moment that every single person at a wedding dreads, the slow songs. So he starts to walk off, she starts to walk off and they caught eyes again. He's like, this is my moment. Hey, you wanna dance? So she looked at him, she was like,

she didn't really understood, she kind of, she put her hands up like, what? He said again, hey, do you wanna dance? Huh? Got a little bit closer, said again, hey, do you wanna dance? This time she understood completely what he was saying. And immediately she said, oh, no, no, no, no, no. And he said, no, you didn't hear me. I said, you look fat in those pants. That's a funny story right there. Have you ever sent mixed signals? You ever been caught in mixed signals, a situation where you hear people saying one thing, but they're doing something completely different. You think people live one way, but secretly they live another way. They look one way at work, but on the weekends is way different. They say one thing at school, but when they're around their parents, they act completely different. They post about how great their life is, but you know secretly their life is falling apart. We've all experienced mixed signals, mixed signals with people, mixed signals with situations, with the workplace, with school, with athletics, friends, family members. But I wanna ask this question today,

and it's a real question for us. It's a question that we can't fake. You can't mask it forever, and you can't hide it forever. Here's the question. When it comes to your faith, are you sending mixed signals? What story is your life telling you? What story is your life telling other people? When you tell people about what God has done in your life, are they left scratching their head like, what? I didn't know that about you, or I didn't know that you actually love God. How clear is your faith to people? Is it mixed signals, or is it so clear that you love God with all your heart? Now don't misunderstand me here today. I am a work in progress. You are a work in progress. We are all a work in progress. So when I say that it's clear, what I'm not saying is that you have it all figured out. When I'm saying that it's clear, what I'm not saying is that you have to have been living for Jesus for 10 years or more. But what I am saying is that when it's clear, is that your life used to be going one direction. You encountered God's presence. You encountered him, and you said yes to him, and you turned the opposite direction.

You went the other way. My life is not sending mixed signals when it comes to my faith. When it comes to my speech, my life matches what I'm saying. I love the word of God. How many of you are thankful for a Bible preaching church? I love that our church preaches the word of God. In John chapter nine, we see this story. I'm not gonna read the whole story today. I would encourage you sometime this week. Would you take some time and read the story there in the chapter of John chapter nine? It's a beautiful story. But today, for time's sake, I wanna share just kinda some bullet points of this story of this man. The Bible says in John chapter nine, it starts by letting us know that he was born blind. Everybody say born. That means from the day he entered earth, he could not see. He had never been able to see. He learned to walk without having sight. He learned to eat without being able to see his food. He learned who his parents were by listening to their voices not by seeing who they were. He had never seen the green grass. He had never seen the blue sky. He didn't know how beautiful the sunshine was in the morning and he didn't know how beautiful the stars and moon was at night. He was born blind.

And then we read the story and Jesus heals him and he walked around healed. Oh, that's encouraging to me. That when Jesus does something, it's. days. It sticks. He walked around here. The Bible says that Jesus rubbed mud onto his eyes and told him to go and wash it off. And when he washed it off, he could see. Before he encountered Jesus, he could not see. But after he encountered Jesus and obeyed what he said, he could see. Then after he encountered Jesus, experienced the miracle of Jesus and the ability to be able to see, the Bible says that everyone had questions. In John chapter 9, verse 8, it says, his neighbors, his neighbors had questions. It says that his neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging, asking, isn't this the same man who used to sit and beg? How then were your eyes open, they ask. They had questions. How did this happen? And then when they had questions, they couldn't get answers. The community went, they couldn't figure it out. They went and they asked the Pharisees. Now that word Pharisees is just a big word for spiritual leaders in the community. And they tried to ask the Pharisees, hey, can you figure this out? And so we pick up reading in verse 15 of John chapter 9, it says, therefore, the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He put mud on my eyes, the man replied, and I washed it off and I now see. Verse 16, some of the Pharisees said, this man is not from God for he does not keep the Sabbath. But others ask, how can a sinner perform such signs? So they were divided. So even the spiritual leaders could not figure it out. They could not answer the question. So the Pharisees couldn't figure it out. So what they did, they went to the man's parents and said, hey, in verse 20, parents respond, we know he's our son, the parents answered, and we know he was blind, but he is of, he can now see, or, but how he can see or who opened his eyes, we don't know, they said. Ask him. He is of age, and he will speak for himself. So the man was born blind. He encounters Jesus and he can see. People start asking questions. They don't get the answers they want, so they go ask the religious leaders. Religious leaders can't figure it out, so they go ask the parents, and the parents say, hey, go back to the man who was healed. Go back to the man who was once blind but can now see. Do you see the circle here? They started with the man, and they're going back to the man. And then I

love how he responds in verse 25. Oh, this is so good, church. If you got your Bible, highlight this, circle this. This is the crux of the mess. This is the hope in which we can all lean to. He says this in verse 25. He replied, whether he's a sinner or not, I do not know. One thing I do know. I was blind, but now I see. Oh, somebody ought to thank God for a healing miracle. The gospel message is simple. I don't know all those answers, all those questions you're asking me, but let me tell you one thing I do know. I once could not see a thing, but I encountered God, and now I can see everything. Before if you'd asked me the same question, I would have just been listening to your voice. But now I can see your scruffy face. While you ask me this question, I can tell you, I once was blind, but now I see. Oh, there's no mixed signals in this. There's no, he was blind, but now he sees. What he's saying is my life is matching up with what I'm saying. I used to be this way, but now I'm this way. This man, this blind, once blind man, he gives us, he gives us, church family, the greatest form of evangelism. He gives us the greatest way on how we can reach our friends, how we can reach our family, how we can reach our co-workers, our neighbors with the good news of Jesus. He gives us the greatest way for you and I to share our testimony. The answer to the question, how do we reach people with the gospel, is answered with this, the title of today's message, show and tell. Come on, somebody say show and tell. Type it in the chat line, let somebody know, show and tell. Number one, we show them with our life. We show people, how do we reach people? How do we reach people who are hurting? How do we reach our family members? How do we reach our co-workers? How do we reach people at our school? We show them. Show them with our life. Because of Jesus, the blind man could now see. And that got everyone's attention. And when Jesus changes a person's life, it gets everyone's attention. Matthew chapter five, verse 16, it says, Jesus said, in the same way, let your light shine before others that they may see your good deeds

and glorify your Father in heaven. What he is saying is, your life is a light. Your life is a light in a dark world and your life needs to be shown in a dark world. Listen, people would rather watch your life than hear a sermon. People would rather see your life lived out than watch a sermon. And your life, the way you live, is a sermon for those who are unbelievers. I recently saw a couple of videos from some dear friends of mine that had lost a loved one who went home to be with Jesus. It was a father and a grandfather. So I saw the mom post a video and I saw a daughter post a video and it touched my heart so greatly. Because I watched a granddaughter as she got a chance to share at this home-going service. And she talked about her grandfather, how he lived a life of generosity. How he lived a life of compassion. How she would catch him at times when they'd go over on the weekends and she would see her grandfather reading the Word of God. How he would take moments and opportunities to share of the goodness of God in his life with his grandkids. And then I watched the daughter share about her father and how she had seen that obviously longer

than the granddaughter did because she grew up in the house. She talked about how her dad instilled compassion and how they should look at people and the way they should see people is that they are God's creation. Not to judge people, but to love people. Talked about his generosity and his compassion. Listen, they were not just sharing about a family member. They were preaching a sermon that was lived out by that man's life. And that's what I want to encourage us here today. Is that your life is sometimes the only sermon people will see. Your life. 1 Peter 2, verse 12 says this. Be careful to live properly among your unbelieving neighbors. Then even if they accuse you of doing wrong, they will see your honorable behavior and they will give honor to God when he judges the world. Listen, he didn't say that you had to wow people with your religious vocabulary. You didn't have to impress people with your theological thoughts or insights. The most powerful and effective thing that you and I can do is to let people see Jesus that's in us. By the way you live, you are showing them that there's a better way than the world is selling. There is someone who actually fulfills and satisfies your deepest needs and desires and he's not tied to performance. He doesn't bring guilt or shame

and he doesn't lead to more brokenness. His name is Jesus and he's the hope of the world. We show them with our life. Listen, when you return love instead of hate, you're going to catch someone's attention. When you show patience instead of frustration in the room, the room's going to take notice. When you show mercy and grace rather than revenge, people will not forget it. When you don't partake in gossip but rather speak kindly about them, when people hear that, they're going to take notice. When you don't cut corners but instead make choices that are full of integrity, people will take notice. When you serve others instead of serving your own interests, people are going to be left scratching their head. When you spend your own money to buy people's groceries instead of spending all your money on yourself, people are going to take notice. When you take time for acts of kindness like mowing your neighbor's lawn, by washing someone else's car, your neighborhood is going to perk up and say, what's going on over there? You are the light of the world and in a dark world, people will be drawn to the light of Jesus that's on the inside of you. Church family today, Midway. city, Northwest, let your light shine for Jesus. It's not about being perfect. It's not about having everything all figured out. As a matter of fact, some of the best

and most effective soul winners are people who have recently said yes to Jesus. Recent converts, listen, I know they're young in their faith but oftentimes they're so fired up about what God has done on the inside of them sometimes even more so than people have been living for Jesus for years and they let their light shine everywhere they go. At all of our campuses today, even here in the room, you can look around the room and you'll see exit signs everywhere all over the room. You don't question what the signs are for. Maybe if you're not in the room you'll remember seeing exit signs in an office building, a parking garage, an airplane, a grocery store. These exit signs, you don't need a ton of explanation as to what these signs mean. If there were an emergency, you'd look for it and you'd go in that direction. You'd be really silly if there was an emergency to run the opposite direction of an exit sign. And in the same way, no one sits here today and says I wonder why they're wasting so much money on batteries keeping these exit signs lit. Light bulbs, you can spend that money elsewhere. No! This is the way that we are showing people if there's an emergency. In the same way, your life is an exit sign. Helps people to exit from a life of sin. I'm showing people by illuminating my life and here's a way out of sin, the way out of a life of addiction, the way out of a life of confusion and misdirection. I am showing people that Jesus changed my life and I'm showing people that there's hope. If he did it for me, he can do it for you. I show people with my life. The greatest sermon you and I will ever preach is with our life. Not only do we let people shine or let people know by by our light shining and in our words sharing with people but we also, my last point here today is this, we tell them with your story. Listen today, your character shows Christ but your voice introduces him to people. We need to live like Jesus matters and we need to talk like Jesus matters as well. Psalms chapter 66 verse 2 it says this, tell, everybody say tell, tell the world how glorious he is. Tell the world. A lot of times if we're honest here today, a lot of times people don't know where to start. Pastor, do I start with the book of Genesis or do I skip Genesis and do I go, do I lead

out with the story of Noah and the ark? Is that a good place to start or do I should I jump to the plagues like the plagues in Egypt? Is that a good place or what if I just skip all the, and I go to Revelation, I talk about the red horse in Revelation. Where do I start? Today, I want to help us. When telling the story, the best place to start is to tell your story. You remember as we paraphrase John chapter 9, the religious leaders, all the questions that they had, the people, they had a bunch of, how are you able to see? Who did this to you? They were interrogating the poor man. How were your eyes opened? Where's this man who did this to you? They went to his parents, his parents say, y'all go talk to him. You remember his response in John chapter 9 verse 25? He replied, one thing I know, I was blind but now I see. Oh church, that gives me faith today. How many, you used to live in the darkness but when you met Jesus, now you are living in the light. You were spiritually blind but Jesus opened your eyes. You used to live ratchet but Jesus saved your life. You used to be a liar, a cheat, a stealer but Jesus rescued you from your addictions. You used to live wild by getting high and partying but Jesus saved your life. Is there anybody here that can testify? I used to be one way but oh, I met Jesus and now I'm on the other side of death. I once was blind but now I see. I was dead in my sin and in my transgression but I encountered the presence of God and now I'm alive in Jesus. Oh, I once was blind, but now I see. You got a lot of questions, and I'm not saying those questions aren't valid, but let me tell you one thing I do know. I was blind, and now I see. Don't ever let somebody tell you that your story doesn't matter. When you've encountered the presence of God, you have something to stand on. I was blind, but now I see. You used to try to live life on your own, face each day on your own strength, find peace in your circumstances, but when you met

Jesus, he changed everything. I still remember the moment that I surrendered my life to Jesus. I was 12 years old. I'd been playing church, and I watched the old saints. I knew when to lift my hands. I knew when to say amen. I knew when to hit that old Pentecostal stomp. Come on, pastor, preach. I knew how to give a good shout. I knew how to say praise the Lord. Come on, everybody. But I couldn't truly say that I surrendered my life to Jesus. I remember going to youth camp with my church. I remember the pastor speaking. I was angry. I was filled with bitterness and resentment. I was 12 years old, and just two years prior to that, my dad had left the house to go to a drug rehab program. I was there for 16 months. I just remember feeling so angry, bitter, mad. Grew up in church. Knew how to say the right things. But never really encountered his presence. Remember that pastor saying, some of you here today, you're caring, oh, wait, you're not supposed to be caring. I responded to that altar that night. Like a weight was lifted off of me when I said yes to Jesus. Surrendered my life to him. I'm forever, ever grateful. Listen, church, I don't have all the answers.

I'm not perfect. I make mistakes. But God has rescued me. He saved me. He redeemed me. That's my story. That's my testimony. No one can argue with me about that. No one can tell me how Jesus changed my life. That's my story, and I'm going to share it. It's not just about showing people with your life. It's telling the story. Church family here today, those watching online, you have a story to share. Listen, there's few things more influential than a person's testimony. You can watch commercials all day long. This pan is great. Best vacuum ever created. It's the new shark 2.0. Better than the 1.9 edition. But when a friend of yours gets on the phone, you go have lunch with them, and they start telling you about an item, start telling you about how it revolutionized. Listen, I used to burn broccoli. But now, oh, it comes out perfect. You're intrigued. Why? Because they're telling you a story. All the thousands of dollars that they shoot, that they spend

to shoot these commercials, produce them. But when someone shares it, it means more. Let me ask you this question today. How would you sum up your story? Have you given it any thought? What has Jesus done for you? Has he saved you? Has he redeemed you? Has he given you purpose? Has he rescued you from yourself? How has your life changed? How have you seen your promises in your life, his promises in your life? How have you seen his faithfulness in the midst of your struggles? I remember when I was in elementary school. I remember show and tell in elementary. Normal show and tell, you grab the toy out of your toy box and you brought it to school. Got up in front of the class and you tell them about how you liked your toy. But this was a different one. This was a Christmas version of show and tell. So the parents were tasked with buying their kids a gift. Wrapping it putting it in the backpack and the kids would open the toy open the gift in front of the class And then they'd do show-and-tell in front of the class. I Remember seeing that gift being put in my bag. It was a small gift. So I didn't have a whole lot of hope We were poor. I Remember watching my friends open up a GI Joe. I love GI Joe One friend has a roller skates. I'm like

I thought they were millionaires in roller skates It was my turn to get up in front of the class and I begin to open up my gift. I Peel back the paper. I Begin to I got so excited you ever get so excited you start stuttering. I was like And I grabbed us it it it's it's a yo-yo ball How many how many old enough remember yo-yo ball was Ball I was so excited. I said, it's a yo-yo. I'll be gonna open up. Ah, it's a yo-yo ball. It's a yo-yo I jump it up and down. It's a yo-yo ball The class the the kids in the classroom that knew what it was. They were excited with me but the other half of the class is like so The teacher called me down. She said Bo we see that you're excited What what does it do So What does it do? Said normal yo-yo, you gotta wind it up a yo-yo ball. You don't want to wind up a Normal yo-yo, if you don't throw it down and pull it up at the right speed It's gonna stay down but a yo-yo ball every time you go down it comes up every time you do I gotta wind nothing Oh, you ever tried to do around the world with a yo-yo and it gets caught you go Yo-yo Yo-yo ball every time you can go around the world as much as you want when you don't walk it it comes back Oh, it's the greatest thing ever Listen church When I showed that classroom some were excited and understood What I showed and told them Everybody knew what it was Everybody had an understanding you and I's life we're not just a show we're to talk we're to tell people just like that classroom when you start to show and Tell your story when you start to show people with your life and tell them about hey I once was blind

But now I see people are gonna see and know that God has a plan for them because he's seen it do it Do seen him do it for you. He knows that he's gonna do it for them Jesus changes Everything when Jesus comes into your life and you start showing people they're gonna be people who are excited It'll be people. We'll say praise the Lord but when you show and tell people will take Notice, how would you sum up your story? Has Jesus done something for your life? Tell somebody has Jesus changed your life tell somebody has Jesus given you purpose today Tell somebody has he rescued you from your sin and yourself tell somebody has he given you faithfulness? Has he have you seen his faithfulness in the midst of your life tell? somebody Not just show but tell I Referenced my personal story a moment ago and When I was three years old My parents were not living for God they actually met in a bar and they had me a year after being married and When I was three years old my aunt Ethel She invited my parents to church When she invited my parents to church She wasn't perfect She didn't have all the answers but she could say I've encountered God And if he did it for me, he can do it for You and from that moment on From that moment on I've been in church my entire life. I'm the oldest of four kids My three younger siblings are all in full-time ministry

all over the country one invite one person Not just showing with their life but telling their story and inviting See these these Easter invites. They're personal to me My aunt Ethel Invited my parents to church and it changed our entire family Changed not just our family, but it changed our family history Those are not just invite cards to me Those are my parents being invited to church and my life forever being changed. I wonder How many families? legacy will be forever changed as you take those invite cards. How many people's lives are going to be impacted? How many family members, co-workers, students, would you take these cards? It'll impact more than you realize. You may be here today and asking this question, well, Pastor, how can I effectively share my faith? How do I do that? What does that really look like? I want to encourage you. Get here next Sunday. Pastor Herbert is going to teach us a powerful message that's going to help us to reach our friends, help us reach our family members, our co-workers for Jesus. I know you want your friends to go to heaven with you.

I know you want your family members in heaven. Next week's message is going to help you in so many ways. And this week, I'm really excited. I want you to really think about how you can intentionally show people Jesus by the life you're living and share the life change story with someone. I want to challenge you with that. Your story can change a life. God, I thank you today for your word. I thank you for the reminder that the greatest witness that we can bring to people is our story, how you have changed our lives. God, may we grow in boldness this week, in courage and sharing our story. God, wherever it's, whether it's a conversation at work or on social media posts or whatever it is, God, with a stranger in line at the store, God, may we keep our hearts focused on you. And we should always, God, be reminded that we should show people with our life and tell people with our story. In Jesus' name, amen. I'm asking everyone to keep their head bowed and their eyes closed, no one looking around, no one moving around here today. We talked about telling your story. You've not yet encountered Jesus and you don't yet have the story of redemption. You are still living blind. You're still living dead in your sins. Today is your day to be able to see through the grace of God and to walk alive in him by saying yes to him,

surrendering your heart and your life to him. If that's you here today, I'm going to pray. In just a few moments before I pray, I'm going to count to three. If that's you, just lift your hand right where you at and say, pastor, that's me. Would you include me in this prayer today? One, two, three. If that's you, just lift your hand all over this room. I want to say yes to Jesus and the forgiveness of sins that comes with my life surrendered to him. I want to be able to show people and tell people of God's glory. I'm asking those who raised their hand today and those in the room here today, would you just repeat after me as we join with our brothers and sisters and we repeat in this prayer. Let this prayer come from your heart. God, I thank you. God, I ask you to forgive me of my sins. God, I thank you that you died for my sins and that I confess today that I'm a sinner and I need you. I need your free gift of salvation. I ask that you would come into my heart, God. God, today be Lord of my life and from this day forward, I want to live for you all the days of my life. God, I thank you for saving me. In Jesus' name, amen, amen. Come on, can we celebrate with those who said yes to Jesus

today? I turn it over to all the campuses. Praise God. Come on, church. Can we celebrate one more time with every person who said yes to Jesus today? Today, man, Pastor Bo is here. Just a powerful message about how so important it is for us to make room for God to move in our lives as we show and tell our faith to those around us. It's so important that we make room for God to move through us. He wants to use you, church. He wants to use you to make a difference in your friends and in your family's lives and those that you come in contact for. But we have to invite God and make room in our lives for God to give us an opportunity to reach those around us, amen? Before we leave today, can we take a moment, sing this song, make room for you one more time and say, God, I make room for you to use me this week and in the weeks to come.
