Roof-Breaking Faith
Hello church! How's it going everybody? I see that half of it is awake and half of it is asleep. Let's repeat it again. How are you church? Yeah, that's a lot better Pastor. It's such a pleasure to be here with you today. For those who don't know me, my name is Francisco Castellanos. And I'm here part of the pastoral team in Vertical Church. And I'm here with Pastor Carlos who will be doing the translation today. And I'm here with Pastor Carlos who will be doing the translation today. And I want to take advantage to honor you, Pastor. And I want to take advantage to honor you, Pastor. Give it up to God. Give it up to God. It's such a privilege to be here today. And God has placed a very special message in my heart to share with you guys today. And God has placed a very special message in my heart to share with you guys today. I want to just ask a question. I want to just ask a question. Does anybody remember the word that we had for this year for 2025 for our church? Does anybody remember the word that we had for this year for 2025 for our church? Extraordinary faith. Let's repeat it together. Extraordinary faith. Let's repeat it. Talking about faith. And also to talk about what it means. And everything of what faith can do. And also to talk about what it means. And everything of what faith can do. Did anybody bring their Bible? Yes. I love it. So whoever brought their Bible, you have a star.
So I want us to go to the book of Mark, chapter 2, verses from 1-12. So I want us to go to the book of Mark, chapter 2, verses from 1-12. So I want us to go to the book of Mark, chapter 2, verses from 1-12. And we're going to read them from 1-12. It says, a few days later when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gather in such large numbers that there was no room left. So Jesus opened the door and he preached the word to them. Some men came bringing to him a paralyzed man carried by four of them. Since they could not get him to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lowered the mat the man was lying on. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, Son, your sins are forgiven. Now some teachers of the law were sitting there thinking to themselves, why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God alone? Immediately Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts. And he said to them, why are you thinking these things? Which is easier, to say to this paralyzed man, your sins are forgiven, or to say, get up, take your mat, and walk? Jesus knew that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins. So he said to the man, I tell you, get up, take your mat, and go home. So he got up, took his mat, and walked out in full view of them all. This amazed everyone and they praised God saying, we have never seen anything like this. Amen. So I want to start by saying these that caught my attention. It says in verse 2, it says that there was no room left.
So I declare that for vertical church, that is going to be the case for 2026. In our new building, there's not going to be room left. We may need another building. This building will not be enough for all the people that will come to our church. And something very important that the verse says, it says that Jesus was preaching the word. And not only was he preaching the word, he was doing something else. And I want to declare today that in the next 30 minutes you're going to receive a miracle, a supernatural miracle. Well, it seems like only three are going to receive that. I'm going to repeat it. I want to declare in the name of Jesus that in the next 30 minutes you will receive a supernatural miracle. So with that faith and enthusiasm, and in this last Sunday of 2025, I'm going to preach with the theme, Roof Breaking Faith. Come on, say it again. Roof Breaking Faith. Maybe three of you are going to break this. But it's okay. I want you to say to the person next to you, we're going to be breaking roofs. No, but that way you might not be able to break anything. Come on. We're going to break roofs. And I know many of you might be familiar with this story. And this paralytic is brought to Jesus. And the Bible says that Jesus was not only preaching the word, he was also performing miracles. If we see the chapter before, he had done many miracles. And in between those, he also had done one that was supernatural. He healed Peter's mother-in-law. So Jesus even heals the mother-in-law. Glory to God. Give it up to God. We love our mother-in-law. I love our mother-in-law. And the Bible doesn't really specify the time frame of how long the paralytic was in that condition. But it had been surely a long time. And I'm sure that the paralytic had heard the word of God.
And this is how this story begins. And I'm certain that this man heard something that changed his situation. Something in him changed. He heard the word. And when the word comes to your life, when the word of God comes into your situation, when the word of God comes into your problem, when the word of God comes into your family, when that rhema of God comes into your life, wonderful things happen in your life. So the man received the rhema of God. So something happened in the paralytic's faith system. Something broke inside him. So all of us, so we need something in our faith system to break. And that only happens when the rhema of God is part of our lives. And you know why? Because the rhema of God breaks paradigms, breaks limits, breaks impossibilities, breaks poverty, breaks lack of documents, breaks every addiction in the name of Jesus. And this man had to think, I will not spend the rest of my life on this stretcher. Something came to his mind, the word. And he said, I will not suffer anymore,
my desire will be fulfilled, and I will get up. So Jesus is telling you today, I don't know what situation you're having, but Jesus is going to raise you up from that stretcher. You have to understand and know that Jesus is with you. This is why we need God to break the roofs and the ceilings of our faith. And I want to tell you that the faith that is roof-breaking faith He cancels every negative word. He cancels the medical diagnosis. Because every diagnosis speaks to our faith. When somebody has a disease or a sickness, and they receive a diagnosis, the person is like, they get depressed. And sometimes the last resource that we use is to say, Lord, you know what? I will break the roof of unbelief, and I declare in Jesus' name that you are my doctor, that you will heal me. I don't receive that negative result because you died on the cross for my sickness. You have to break the roof of disease and sickness. God has given us the authority. This is why you have to stop listening to those voices that leads us to barrenness, unbelief, paralysis, closed doors.
We need to sharpen our prophetic ears. In the next few minutes, I ask the Holy Spirit to open your ears to the prophetic, that the only thing that you will hear is good news. So I declare in the name of Jesus today that now until the end of the year, that you will hear good news. You will get those papers and documents. You will close in your house. You will get the job. And you will receive that email that you've been waiting in the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. Come on, give it up to the Lord. And now we're gonna pray because I'm just starting. Father, we ask you. We give you this time and this word. Touch the hearts of all your children. In Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Amen. All right, so we're gonna read 1 Peter 3.10, and it says, For whoever will love life and seek good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. Tienes que cuidar lo que escuchas. You have to really be careful with what you're listening. You have to listen well to speak well.
Por lo que tú escuchas. Porque lo que tú escuchas. Because of what you hear today. Y habla determina tu mundo de fe. And on what you speak, it determines your world of faith. Tú eres hoy lo que escuchaste ayer. You are today what you heard or listened yesterday. Y lo que hablaste ayer. And what you spoke yesterday. Y en el 2026. And in 2026. Será lo que escuches hoy. And it will be what you listen or hear today. And will you continue to speak today, even after church. Don't be fighting with your spouse when you leave church today. I see the elbow that you gave your spouse there. Receive the word and do it in your life. Practice it in your life. Don't forget what the Lord is giving you today. God brings breakthrough to our faith system. Queremos muchas cosas. We want many things. But there are things that we must break in the spiritual
realm. Sobre todo con nuestro sistema de pensamiento. Especially on our thought system. Tu mente funciona con pensamientos. Your mind operates through thoughts. And I pray that your thoughts will receive everything that God has for you. Y hoy declaro. And today I declare. That there is a breaking of everything negative you have heard in your life. Toda maldición. Every curse. Dios lo cambia por bendición. God changes us into a blessing. News of dryness into news of much fruit. Noticias de esterilidad por noticias de abundancia. News of bearingness into news of abundance. Noticias de puertas cerradas. News of closed doors. Por noticias de puertas abiertas. Into news of open doors. Noticias de tristeza por noticias de alegría. News of sadness into news of joy. En el nombre de Jesús.
In Jesus' name. Aplausos. Hace, creo que fueron dos semanas. So it's been like two weeks now. Our Pastor Virgen gave us the news of our new. buildings. That was definitely a breaking roof new from God. And that's for us to be joyful. Maybe even jumping of joy. I don't know about you, but I am joyful. Understanding that that building is not just going to be for us, but also for the next generation. For our children's children. For our children's children. When I'm no longer here, I am sure that they will be in a strong church, a strengthening church. But what really caught my attention, when he said that the first phase, we were going to need $20 million. But he also said, that we already had it. And everybody was like, yes! But then he said, we have them, but in your bank accounts. Everybody was like, okay, well. You know what I did? I said, I declare by faith, that in my bank account there will be enough to give to the church. Because that is the mentality of church. You have to receive what God is going to give you. No, Pastor, I can't. You don't understand how I'm doing. I can't even put gas in my car.
But the God that we have, he can change your situation in just a second. He can change the zeros that you have in your bank account to even a million dollars. Only three people said amen. Glory to God that we have a great and powerful God. I want to give you today three ways for our faith that breaks roofs to be activated. Number one, roof-breaking faith is activated when you have friends with extraordinary faith. Here in Mark 2.3, we go back to verse number three. It says, some men came, bringing to him a paralyzed man carried by four of them. ¿Cuántos? How many? Four. ¿Por qué no seis? Why not six? ¿Por qué no ocho? Why not eight? Porque Dios es el que manda. Well, because, you know, God is sovereign. Y él nada más necesitaba cuatro. And he only needed four. Ahora aparecen cuatro locos. Now you have four crazy men cargando a otro loco, carrying another crazy man. Entonces, lo que te quiero decir, so what I want to tell you today, is that today the Lord has enrolled us in the club of crazy faith. Those crazy people that are of faith. I want you to tell the people next to you, welcome to the club of the crazy of faith.
We're crazy for Jesus. We're crazy for the miracles that the Lord has done and will do. Crazy for everything that he has done for us. And crazy for everything that he will do. First Corinthians, capítulo uno, versículo dieciocho. It says, First Corinthians 1.18 says, For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the power of God. Wow. You know what happens with a roof-breaking faith? Te hace hacer locuras. It makes you do crazy things. Rompieron el techo y bajaron al paralítico. They broke the roof and they lowered him down. This type of faith opens the doors and gives you access to what others cannot have or did not have. There's doors that will only open to you and only you. Otros van a decir, ¿y por qué a él, no a mí? And some other people are going to say, why him and not me? Porque Dios le plació.
Well, because, you know, God is sovereign. Sometimes they're not logical. Ni sentido. Sometimes they don't make sense. Roof-breaking faith, it makes you grow.
And you know what also, what happens? The roof-breaking faith grows when we find a corporate faith, a united faith. Where unbelief is not allowed. Negativity is not allowed. Pastor, there's nothing here. I'll give you an advice. Do not allow the advice of it can't be done. No permitas que entre la incredulidad. Don't allow for unbelief to come into your life. La amargura. Or even bitterness. You must declare, in this atmosphere, there is faith. In my life, there's miracles. And the best is yet to come. En el nombre de Jesús. In Jesus' name. Come on, give it up to the Lord. Thank you. Sabes, algunos no rompen limites. Some don't break any limits. No crecen, no se multiplican. They don't grow, they don't multiply themselves. No avanzan. They don't go forward. No rompen techo. They don't break the roof. Porque tienen un problema.
Because sometimes they have an issue. Hágame la pregunta, por que Pastor? Come on, ask me the question, why Pastor? Because you have the wrong people around you. Ouch, ouch, ouch. Quienes son tus amigos? Who are your friends? Quienes son las personas que están empujándote? Who are the people who are pushing you? Who are the people who you're gonna go and ask for advice? Quizás ese amigo que tu le cuentas. Maybe that friend that you tell him. You know what, I'm tired of my wife. Me quiero divorciar. I wanna get a divorce. Y este amigo te va a decir. And this friend is gonna tell you. Come on, do it. Yeah, come on, just do it. Te puedes conseguir otra mejor. Yeah, you can just get another better. Better wife, better spouse. Don't say amen, husbands, I'm watching you. Pero el verdadero amigo. But a true friend. El loco por Jesús.
The one that is crazy for Jesus. Te dice. He will tell you. Hermano. Brother. Tranquilo, lo puedes hacer. Hey, you can do it. Jesús te puede ayudar. Jesus can help you. I'm gonna take you to my church. There they're gonna give you spiritual guidance. Your marriage can be saved. Your children can come to Jesus. With faith, anything is possible. Jesus is with you. Those are the real friends. And many of you are here sitting because of those friends that are crazy for Jesus who they invited you today to church. So if today you're here, say thank you, friend who's crazy for Jesus for bringing me to church. Cuando tú crees por un futuro glorioso, when you believe for a glorious future, those friends, the wrong friends, they will keep you stuck in the path of defeat. You may believe for a greater door to open, and they can't even see a small door. You tell them about your dreams, and they immediately tell you,
oh, that will never happen. So we cast that out in the name of Jesus. Look for people without limits. Look for people who when say, I trust God, and he said, hey, he will fulfill it, and he will do it, and they will respond, amen, glory be to God. Those are the real friends that you need. When this roof-breaking faith comes to you, you begin to dream with what you have never dreamed before. That's why the paralytic must have said, from here, I get up because I get up, because Jesus said it. Something new is coming for me. I receive my miracle, and with those type of people, is the people that God does supernatural miracles. Now I ask you, how's your faith today? And this is not about motivation, because I'm talking about the promises of God. The motivation can activate you, but faith will make you move and grow, and this sends me to my second point. The roof-breaking faith is activated when you overcome obstacles. Let's go to verse number four in Mark 2. It says, since they could not get him to grow, to Jesus because of the crowd, they made an opening in the roof above Jesus by digging through it and then lower the mat and the men was lying on, they broke the roof.
Rompieron el techo. They broke the roof. Así que cuando ellos llegaron, so when they arrived, Ellos iniciaron un proyecto de fe. They began their project of faith. A ellos les dijeron, no puedes entrar. They told them, hey, you can't get in. There was so many people that even the entrance was blocked. So they said, okay, we're not gonna get through the door. Pero que entramos, entramos. But we are getting in, we're getting in. Y quiero decirte, si no hay una puerta, and let me tell you, if there is no door, por donde entrar, for where you can go in, Dios la va a fabricar o la inventa. God is gonna make it or he's gonna create it. Porque para el todo es posible. Because for him, everything is possible. Así que la ferro rompe el techo te dice, so the roof breaking faith tells you, Alguna manera, Dios abrirá la puerta. Somehow, God will open a door. Repítelo conmigo, Dios abrirá la puerta. Repeat it with me, somehow, God will open the door.
Somehow, I will get the job. De alguna manera, vendrán mis papeles. Somehow, my papers will come through. De alguna manera, saldré de deudas. Somehow, I will get out of debt. De alguna manera, saldré de esta enfermedad. Somehow, I will get out of this sickness. Yo no sé si tú tienes alguna enfermedad que te haya dicho el enemigo nuestro. I don't know if you have any sickness or illness that the enemy might have declared in your life. But I declare healing in the name of Jesus. You know what, sometimes doors can close. And we think, you know what, this was not from God. And so we lower our hands or arms. Imagine the friends of the paralytic man, they saw the situation and they said, okay, well, never mind, we could just leave. ¿Qué hubiera pasado? What would have happened? No hubiera recibido su milagro. He wouldn't have received his miracle. Por eso la fe rompe techo. That's why the roof-breaking faith
It's not rooted on your experiences. No, no, pastor, because last time this is what happened. I thought this was gonna happen the same way. Look what First Corinthians 2, nine says. However, as it is written, what no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived, the things God has prepared for those who love them. Amen. Amen. Ellos se prepararon para el milagro. They prepared for the miracle. De alguna manera subieron al techo. Somehow they climbed into the roof. Ellos dijeron, vamos a hacerlo. They said, let's do this. In those days there were stairways to go up to the roof. They didn't necessarily bring the proper tools to break the roof. Ellos se prepararon para el milagro. They prepared for the miracle.
Y subieron al techo. And they went up to the roof. Pero en ese tiempo. But in those times. No tenían herramientas. They didn't have the proper tools. Pero la fe rompe techo. But the roof breaking faith. Hace que lo que tú necesitas aparezca. Makes what you need appear. It does what no one else dares to do, that you will do it. Because only you dare to believe what the Lord can do in your situation. Entonces, ¿cuál fue el impedimento del paralítico? So what was the obstacle of the paralytic man? Era una cama. Era una camilla. It was a bed, a stretcher. Lo tenía paralizado por mucho tiempo. It was paralyzed for a long time. Y tenemos que revisarlo espiritualmente. And we have to really check ourselves spiritually. And really ask ourselves, what is the bed of paralysis
that kept us in paralysis all this time? Many of us could be in beds of anti-faith or unbelief. Or maybe anti-dreams. Maybe beds of disappointment. Maybe of discouragement. Maybe sadness. Loss. Or depression. But today, Jesus stands in front of you. Y te dice, levántate de esa camilla. And it says, get up from that bed. Today you rise in the name of Jesus. Tienes que decir, mi pasado queda atrás. You must declare, my past is behind me. Y tengo un futuro por delante. And now I have a future ahead of me. Puesto los ojos en Jesús. Fixing my eyes on Jesus. The author and the finisher of our faith. Dale fuerte aplauso al Señor. Aleluya. Come on, give it up to Jesus. Plause. Número tres. Number three.
Roof breaking faith is activated through persistence. Miremos el verso cinco. Let's look at verse number four. 5, and it says, when Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralyzed man, son, your sins are forgiven. Jesus didn't only just heal him. He also forgave his sins. But the paralyzed man didn't speak to Jesus. But I'm sure that in his mind, he was asking Jesus to forgive him. There are many things in the spiritual life that must be pushed. There's things that require effort. Perseverance. Our hammer needs to keep on hitting it. Keep insisting. Keep hitting because the roof is about to break for you. For you. That one thing that you've been praying, that you've been working with the Lord, it's gonna break. Let me ask you this question. Did the roof open or not? And so I tell you, the door for you also will open. And what's most interesting, when they lower the man, the paralyzed man didn't end on the side or on a corner. When they lower him, he ended up right in front of Jesus. You know what? You can imagine what happened with Jesus.
Jesus probably said, wow. Imagine Jesus saying, wow. So we could also do that and take some wows from Jesus. Having that roof breaking faith. Imagine, Jesus was probably very surprised. And look what it says, verses six to nine, and it says, now some teachers of the lower sitting there thinking to themselves, why does this fellow talk like that? He's blaspheming. Who can forgive sins but God alone? Immediately, Jesus knew in his spirit that this was what they were thinking in their hearts. And he said to them, why are you thinking these things? Which is easier, to say to the paralyzed man your sins are forgiven, or to say, get up, take your mat, and walk? They began criticizing, gossip, and pointing fingers. They began to criticize, gossip, and pointing fingers. And I want to tell you something today. The roof breaking faith will cause for some people to criticize you. Where are you going? I'm going to church. And Saturday? Oh, I'm going to church to pray. Oh, so now everything is about church. They're gonna criticize you for what you believe. They're gonna criticize you for loving Jesus the way you love Jesus.
So we're asking you, don't lower your arms. You gotta say, I love him with all my heart, I'm gonna serve him for the rest of my life, because he's the only one who will not fail you. He's the only one who's gonna break the roof for you. And you know why? Because entering through a roof is not normal. They will not understand it. They will not be able to make sense of it, because God is taking you to another level. They will not be able to understand why God opened that door for you and not for them. And why not me? Because I am crazy for Jesus. I love Jesus with all my heart, and I believe in his word. Parents who are here, if you're any of you who are praying for a son or a daughter, God can break that ceiling, that roof, that that son can come out with us. Jesus can break that roof that they could be serving here at church. If there's any sickness or illness, I wanna tell you, Jesus, I'm not telling you today, present. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus died in the cross, in the past, for that sickness, for that lying cancer who's telling you that you have it. Don't receive it in the name of Jesus. I rebuke any disease or illness that the doctor might have diagnosed to you.
I cover you with the blood of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. In the name of Jesus. ... ... Those who criticize us, God calls it faith. ... Those who criticize us, well God says I bless you. ... To those who criticize us, God gives us abundance. ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Who are they? ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
... .... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... Fear, sadness, and doubt. We rise in the name of Jesus, and we walk towards the glorious future that you have prepared for us. ... ... We believe it, we receive it, and we declare it done in the powerful name of Jesus. And his church says, Amen, Amen, Amen.
