Repent & Live Saved | Rodrigo Vargas
May we honor you with our response to your kindness. I pray this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. You may be seated. What's good, Houston, Texas? Guess what? I am back. Back, baby. Nine weeks. My God, I was ready to come back a couple of weeks ago. I've been ready to give this word my good. But it's been good. I've been refreshed, reinvigorated. And many of you are not going to be ready for this. I've already told some of my leaders, ooh, buddy, you better get your sleep. We got work to do. If this is your first time with us or you've been with us over the last eight, nine weeks and haven't seen me, every year I take a Sabbath to recharge, to seek the Lord, to get proper rest, to not worry about the church and see how God is using people that sometimes are way more talented than me to move it forward. And it's just been a faith step for me for some years now. But I want to say if this is your first time, I like to say that you're not just our honored guest. To us, we view you as a answered prayer. We want you to know that we exist, this church was planted, that God put it in my heart to plant a church that connects people to God with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
It doesn't matter what your past looks like. It doesn't matter what your present struggles are or your doubts. He loves you right where you are. Listen to me. You may be watching online. He loves you right where you are. But today this is really important. He loves you too much to leave you where you are. And today I think you're going to take a step forward in the kingdom of God. Now this promise includes every man and woman that is incarcerated and watching us through the Pando app. So please help me welcome our union prison campus. We may not be able to see you but we feel you right here in our hearts and we can't wait for the day that you join us in person. Now every year during this season of 21 days of prayer and fasting, we take time to learn about our best friend, the Holy Spirit. And this year I have to be honest with you, the reason we do it, I need to explain that, is that this is the most misunderstood, misrepresented and mistaught topic but it is the most vital, vital relationship we have with God, with the person of God. This year I have affectionately called it Holy Ghost Revival. It's a term that was used back in the 50s and 60s during tent revivals. And these tent revivals were like crusades. They saved a bunch of people and launched ministry. Believe it or not, it was in the 50s that world vision started
with Bob Pierce and look at it 70-something years later, one of the oldest missions in the world. And it all started from this era of the 50s and 60s of tent revivals. But today there's a problem. The western church uses the word revival as a promo flyer. Right? A Holy Ghost Revival isn't about an event you go to. Now, I'm not saying, because we have revival nights coming up, okay? I'm not. What I'm saying, I'm clarifying that when it is an experience that happens in the human soul, but that experience changes that human being. It changes lives. It changes families. It changes generations. It changes communities and entire cities. And so what I want to do is I want to spend the next three weeks, I want us to lean in and learn and embrace and respond to the Holy Spirit by the things we're learning. Today we're going to look at the very first revival recorded in the book of Acts. Now, this is the fulfillment of prophecy for thousands of years in the making. Fulfilled when the Holy Spirit finally came to rest and inhabit all those believing disciples of Jesus Christ. So if you could open your Bibles to Acts chapter 2, beginning verse one and as always would you stand as we read the word of god acts chapter two verse one when the day of pentecost came now god decided to do this on on a very specific day it was the day
of pentecost 50 days after the passover this was a first fruits festival we are the first fruits you see what i'm saying we are you are we are the first fruits of god and so when the day of pentecost came they were all together in one place i love that together one place when suddenly a sound like a blowing a violent wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting they saw what seemed to be tongues of fire that separated and came to rest on each of them all of them were filled with the holy spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the spirit enabled them verse five through eight says the following now there were staying in jerusalem now while this is happening while they were there they were staying in jerusalem god-fearing jews from every nation under heaven now there were people there that were jews god-fearing searching for god revering god and they were from all over the world when they heard this sound a crowd came together in bewilderment because each one heard their own language being spoken so although they were from different places they heard their own tongues being spoken utterly amazed they asked aren't all these who are speaking galileans then how is it that each of us hears them in our own native tongue now the next few verses goes on to describe where they were from from all over the place from egypt from all over europe and asia and then in 11 says verse 11 we hear them declaring the wonders of god in our own tongues now they recognize that they were hearing the wonders of god in their own tongues verse 12 amazed and perplexed they asked one another what does this mean like hey what does this mean for us if they're doing it how can we do it how can we get in on that now in verse 14 peter stood up with the 11 and raised his voice and addressed the crowd fellow jews and all of you who live in jerusalem let me explain this to you listen carefully what i have to say and what he does is he basically begins to preach by teaching them the fulfillment of prophecy that this was coming that the spirit of god will one day come and that these people were that jesus was going to come and that it was in fact jesus of nasser he makes it very clear that he was the one and then you could say he goes into what i would call an article in verse 36 he says therefore let all israel be assured of this god has made this jesus whom you crucified both lord and messiah when the people heard this they were cut to the heart and said to peter and the other apostles brothers what shall we do how many times we go to a sermon and and and the last thing we want to hear is something that offends us something that man that was tough to hear and here exactly is what peter has told them
and the response where the spirit of god is what shall we do maybe the next time we get offended at a word that challenges us we should ask the spirit what shall we do peter replied repent my goodness this guy wasn't playing around what's happened to us as a church repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of jesus christ for the forgiveness of your sins second part same action repent and you will receive the gift of the holy spirit The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off For all whom the Lord our God will call and with many other words He warned them and he pleaded with them save yourselves from this corrupt generation This is a timely and relevant word for us and those who accepted his message were baptized And it was about three thousand that were added to their number that day Let's pray father. God. We thank you for today Jesus. We honor you and we lift high We ask you in Jesus name Holy Spirit come in here and speak to us Reveal yourself to us move like never before Prick our hearts cut on us and reveal to us Help me deliver this message That you have put into my heart and follow the instructions you gave me down to the very last detail I pray this in Jesus name and the people of God said Amen, amen, you may be seated Now you just what we read is exactly is Exactly what I pray for and I desire for our church What we read that experience the exact experience. I Mean, there's no way to sugarcoat. We what I pray. This is what I pray over a spring branch When I drive through it, this is what I pray over Houston, Texas when I drive through the city of Houston This is what I contend for in other words Let me give you the word for content because some of y'all don't like to struggle how many y'all like to struggle? Come on, raise your hand ain't nobody raising. Oh you like that? We got one who likes to struggle and nobody like a struggle but content to contend means to struggle to fight for on behalf of every church in our city
Now pastor Rob, why would you do that? because scripture tells us This is when the world got flipped flipped upside down and I love the upside down King I'm all about the upside down kingdom. It's my favorite message. The priest is the upside down keeper Kingdom It's the day that evil became good that the discarded became chosen That the lost were found that captives were set free that the sick were healed that the last became first that the Servants became great and that those that lost their lives gained their lives The upside down kingdom. I love that But none of it happened without the primary things needed for revival. Are you ready for this? repentance So today I want to talk to you from your title I want to teach you to repent and Live saved What happened to pass around he's gonna have us go screaming on the corners to repent or go to hell No, I have not become religious But I I have had had some clarity So before we go any further we need to clarify that the Holy Spirit is a person The Holy Spirit is the third person of God God exists in three different people God the father the creator and the sustainer of the universe God the Son who is the Savior and King and King and Lord of the world And God the Holy Spirit Who resides in every one of us? Two things you need to know he is God and he is holy I want you to remember that because a lot of what I'm gonna teach today You have to get into here is he he's not the goosebump guy. He is God and he is holy Okay, he is not the one that makes your tears come out. He is God and he is holy He is not the one that gives you just visions and prophetic words. He is God and he is holy Are you catching this now scripture describes to us? Who how the who the Holy Spirit is in John 14 and 15? He says that he is a comforter that he is a counselor that he is the God into all truth
And that he is a helper for our lives and he is an advocate He is our defense attorney when the demons and the devil accuse you of something Matthew 3 16 says that he is the spirit of God in Romans 8 9 says that he is the spirit of Jesus in Romans 8 2 it says that he is the spirit of life and in Hebrews 10 29. He is that the spirit of grace Plain and simple the person of God named the Holy Spirit Was given to us for free through the completed work of Jesus Christ at the cross and the resurrection so that that he can inhabit indwell abide in all those who follow him not just believers believers are saved followers are filled believers are saved followers are filled the key word here is follow believe it in jesus saves you following jesus makes you his now i don't know about you but when i go into that dark world i want to make sure that the enemy and all his demons and all the darkness knows whose i am i want him to know who's the shield i got on i need him to know whose sword i swing maybe that's why some of y'all are so scared to go into a buddha shop maybe that's why you're so scared that your co-worker is a witch maybe that's why you're so scared at every demonic tv show that comes on because you don't recognize that who you are and whose you are i know do you see there is a combative person inside of me i just choose the combat and the spirit i wish he would today i wish he would god now to be his we must here we got to be baptized in the holy spirit and we got to follow the way he commanded us to do this that's exactly what happened at pentecost so why would it change for us it does not i believe in the gifts of the holy spirit and that includes hey look i don't want you to feel weird and i'm never going to make you feel that does include speaking in tongues but it ain't for you to show off to speak in tongues i believe and i'm gonna tell you something you should too because it's biblical however prophetic people that's not the purpose of the holy spirit
that is the evidence of the holy spirit oh so what is the purpose of it's the holy spirit is your friend to help you the holy spirit is the friend of disciples to be able to transform you like jesus so that we can make disciples to live and be filled there are three important things i'm going to show you today that you need to learn and embrace on how to live by the spirit and they're right there in what we just read and it is to receive remain and respond now we must receive the holy spirit you got to be able to receive the holy spirit the word receive is to acquire and to be a vessel to assimilate him through mind heart soul and senses to welcome him in not yet stay there stay there stay there to welcome him in to greet him oh but this is good he's gonna be there i i've got to open the door to my life so that he can step in and be by me i'm never going to fully experience though you know i'll tell you what i'll tell you to fully experience all of god the illustration is good is what that's why he's excited excited this is why it's so vital it's important can i say this it's essential now i gotta ask you a question are you a vessel for the spirit of the living god don't you don't just shake your head because i'm looking at you like have you fully assimilated the ways of jesus with all your heart with all your mind with all your soul the spirit of the living god today you're going to be challenged but you also have a divine opportunity to request and receive the baptism of the holy spirit and welcome all of god into romans 8 9 says anyone who does not have the spirit of christ they don't belong to christ i want you to remember this very key truth paul is repeating this when jesus said in john 3 no one can enter the kingdom of god unless they are born of water and spirit plain and simple flesh gives flesh and spirit births spirit I want you to remember that when we get to the sin part so now let me ask you this do you produce spiritual fruit or carnal fruit because maybe it's time to receive all of God so that you can produce fruit maybe it's not simply enough to receive but also for you to remain with the Holy Spirit I've got to stay here it's not enough to just receive the Holy Spirit in a one-time event I have to choose to remain right here only we can make that decision Jesus taught us to remain to abide to dwell to be immersed in the Spirit of God that is a daily and
sometimes minute-by-minute decision I need you to hear me out you need to know that the Holy Spirit is a gentleman he only comes when I wanted him up here when I welcomed him up to my life but there's a little problem that we have to deal with and that's it and where there is sin he isn't wanted or welcomed remember God is holy therefore where there is sin it is clear that he is not wanted nor welcomed and that's pretty simple and guys that's not on the devil that's not on demons that's on us now what is sin sin is simply living outside of the standards of God according to the Word of God not what you feel not what you think not what your favorite artist told you not what the good that the world defines is good that's not it when we miss the standard it's called sin and the Holy Spirit grieves and leaves us and what we feel it we feel shame do you know why we feel shame because the Spirit of God isn't there just like in the garden shame manifests itself in bitterness anger rage depression anxiety and much more but I want you to hear me out on this he isn't punishing you you kicked him out of your life sin thought deed and words and if you kicked him out of that moment of your life who do you don't belong to him who do you belong to in that moment it's up to us to remain we choose to abide we choose and when we don't we give into flesh lust fornication sexual immorality greed envy coveting idolatry sorcery getting high popping pills getting drunk masturbating watching porn lusting all of this manifests when we first decide not to remain to abide to dwell and be immersed if your mind is consumed by God why would you do those things what happens is instead of remaining we resist because of pride and I can tell you there's a lot of pride in this room and pride makes you look like a fool what we want what we want and not what he wants and that's a sin and here's the picture that I'm painting to you if I'm living within the Holy Spirit if I read my Bible if I've had revelation from studying and meditating on the Word of God if I worship and the Spirit of God has ministered to me if I repented because I was convicted not confirmed in my actions but convicted of my actions the Holy Spirit will hold me tight like a good friend like a good father holds his child tight so that we don't try to get into something carnal fleshly and of becoming but then we get that email that upsets us we we we we get talked
about online and we get offended by a comment we we get insulted we get struck we get backside something doesn't go on our way and we resist we break free of the hold that a holy God has on us we decide to break loose notice he hasn't moved I'm the one that's moved away from his protection away from his provision the devil didn't do it the demons didn't do it you did it when you decided not to remain thank you Jesus said remain in me and I also will remain in you There's a promise by the living God that if you remain, if you hold on still, if you turn the other cheek, if you forgive one more time, if you just hang on, if you are just going to be faithful, just this one second, he's gonna remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself. I gotta say this because I think oftentimes what happens is you remain so that you get your way. And there is no place that this is tested more, specifically with moms and their children, wives with their husbands, husbands with their wives. You want her to change, but you ain't willing to change. That's not remaining, brother. Sister, remaining in Jesus so that your child doesn't make the same mistakes you made as a child. Listen, ain't gonna happen. There are parents obsessed with the safety of their children and they haven't realized they made their children an idol. And we need to remember that in scripture, the last person that did that was say, bring me your child, I'm gonna take from his name was Abraham, it is all written. Listen, the greatest protection you can give your children
is your discipleship. No branch can bear fruit by itself. It must remain in the vine. You must remain in the Holy Spirit. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. The fruit Jesus talks about, what does it look like? Paul tells us, love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control against such things. There are no laws, Galatians chapter five, verses 22 to 33. It isn't whether you say you're remaining, it's whether you have fruit. The fruit will tell all of us if you're remaining because if you're impatient, we know you haven't remained. If you're always angry, we know you haven't remained. If you're trying to control a situation, we know you haven't remained. Are you thinking of what I'm dropping? So we must respond to the Spirit. We must respond to the Holy Spirit. You need to listen because too many of us react. And what you react to is your flesh. I can prove it to you. I didn't want to do it. But if I bring a safety pin and I have you come up here, sister Eve, and I break you, what are you going to do? Out. That's what you do in the Spirit. It's the very first thing you do. Ooh, I'm offended.
I'm leaving this church. I'm going to write the pastor an email too. Right? Fear, frustration, burst of anger, lust. But we are called to respond to the Spirit of the living God. Christianity, the way of Jesus is not magic. The Holy Spirit is not a genie. And can I tell you, we aren't pagans. It's our duty to respond to God, no matter how hard it is. The work of the cross is, listen to me, 100% complete. You cannot do any kind of work to earn anything that the cross provides. So there, I'm not religious. You don't have to work for salvation, but you are to work in the work of salvation. You are to live in the work of salvation. And that will depend on your yielding, giving way, responding to the Holy Spirit. This is called sanctification. What happens often is pride. And I want to read you a scripture that's written in three different places, verbatim. James 4, 6, 1 Peter 5, 5, and Proverbs 3, 34, all say the exact same thing. God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humility responds, pride reacts. God delivered the children of Israel out of Egypt. Okay, but I want you to remember this. They still had a hike through the sea.
They had a hike through the sun. They had a hike through the sand. They had a height up and down mountains for what to get the Egypt out of them This is the work of Responding and it's called Sanctification and that's what repentance does sanctifies us So here's what I've been trying to tell you is you got to receive remain Respond because repentance is the most evident fruit of a Holy Ghost revival, and I want that for your lives With that foundation I want to tell you something the most tangible evidence the Holy Spirit Awakenings in the in our church in a community in a city in a nation is one number one repentance It's right there in the passages. What did Peter tell them repent and be baptized it was right there in the text I saw it. I was like my god. It's he said it's repent There must be active repentance, and then you got to receive the Holy Spirit, and then they Responded to are you seeing what I just saw in one verse? repented They remained and they responded Those who accepted this instruction were saved and filled 3,000 of all in once in one shot I want you to notice something After that happened, there's not a single word recorded about any of the 3,000 speaking in tongues Not one speaking about healing or prophesying now We know if you know your word you know that's probably what happened But the writer didn't think it was necessary to detail that because what was necessary was repentance They just that they repented that's all he wrote That they became children of the Most High God That they were redeemed to their original design That's what we'll talk about next week Redemption that they became the ecclesia the church the body of Christ a Group of your repentance it means to change your mind and a heart, but once and for all here's the problem
In the West we call a repentance and we go right back at it I'm here to tell you that's not repentance Hey masturbators Can't stop watching porn, huh? You haven't repented I can't stop smoking weed you haven't repented You haven't repented Y'all quiet as a church house mouse The old fornicators is just I know it feels good Till the next day you haven't repented You Know what happened You just felt bad for what you did And that's selfish You felt bad for what you did That's selfish. Do you know how many men I? Mentor and I talked to and they cheat on their wives and they feel bad for what they did But they don't feel bad that they hurt their wives They Want everything to go back to the same way it was if they felt bad for what they really did For the right reasons they would lay down their lives and say babe walk all over my nuts if you have to I Shouldn't have done that That's the raw truth dog I'm giving you raw dog today Because some of y'all been walking around I repented. No you didn't No, you didn't I Hear acting wild on Friday night and then come in the church be like amen pastor. That's right. Yeah preach it and Then I'm looking at you. I'm a man that boy right there. I already know he's been doing something dirty with himself But let me give you a measurement The difference
Between worldly, sorry, I felt bad for what I did and godly sorrow It's until we feel godly sorrow Conviction, you know what the scriptures called it here once you are cut to the heart You will do anything Anything Like that's when we truly change our mind heart and soul I want to show you a picture. This is a crack pot in Lampida Honduras and it's crazy because they what they do is this is the very pot they use to go get water but once the water well is installed and the filtration system everything is good to go they have a ceremony where they all come to pray over the well and thank God and praise and worship and the last thing they do is they fill this pot up with cement and they throw it up against the the well and it cracks into a million pieces and they let it dry there it is a declaration we are not going back how many of you are living that way how many of you have cracked the pot of drugs how many of you have cracked the pot of alcohol how many of you have cracked the pot of lust and porn this is also the way you used to think the way you stack what happens when we do the things we used to do but don't want to do what happens it's funny because Paul tells us in Romans chapter 7 he said what I want to do I do not do and what I do not want to do that I do and he some pretty much sums it up that it's sin so what we must do are you ready for this it's real simple it's real simple is live a life of repentance constantly inspecting David said inspect my heart my motives my attitude Romans 12 Paul says hey do not conform in other words don't comply with your flesh or the way the world tells you it's okay but rather be transformed through the renewing of how you think about things and can I tell you church that ain't always easy it is my biblical belief that there are many of us in this room right now and watching that are in fact saved you don't need to worry about where you go when you take your last breath that is intact biblically correct but you may not be a disciple of Jesus because repentance is the lifestyle that's our lifestyle of a believer if we begin to live a life of humble repentance we will begin to see transformation do you know why you're stuck in the same place spiritually I've just pointed to you I've just talked to you for 35 40 minutes about why you may be stuck there
about why you may be stuck there in fact the Holy Spirit showed me something amazing when I read it I ran around my little office when the day of Pentecost came they were all together in one place 120 believers together united one place union the very first union that's what did you know that's what union means united what were they doing anybody know what they were doing they were praying but what were they praying for what were they praying for I mean if you ask the western church the western church what they were praying for the answer is going to be so self-serving and so selfish just like you feel bad for what you did I want to be real with you I'm gonna keep it a hundred for you I'm gonna keep it above water for you praying for power from on high why Jesus told them you won't receive oh queremos el poder del cielo queremos el poder del espíritu santo oh we want power lord I claim power in the name of Jesus I got power over my disease in the name of Jesus we're about to have a Pentecostal revival here they were praying for Jesus's return come back come back selfish Jesus told them I'm going away I'm going to build a house for you for after you left and they were like no no no come back we like that when you hear you multiply bread and fish and walk over water all those cool things and when we got to turn up you you make free wine they were praying for they were the western churches that oh they were praying for the holy spirit to come and inhabit that they didn't know that was going to happen you know how that looks like today today we pray for protection prosperity power politics positions safety and security but the truth is so much more sobering they weren't weren't praying for any of those things. Do you know what they were praying for? Repentance. They were repenting for how they failed Jesus. They were repenting for the nation of Israel for rejecting Jesus. Number three, they were repenting on behalf of all those
that had not yet heard about Jesus. And that was the 3,000. Did that prayer work? Yeah. They were filled. The 3,000 were filled and revival broke out. How do I know this? It's right there in scripture. The poster child for failure is Peter. He was inhabited with the Holy Spirit and he preaches a sermon that's so bold. He goes from denier to dedicated preacher of the gospel. He goes from being gripped by fear to being bold in the faith. Peter speaks to Israel and he tells them, fellow Jews, repent. And they were cut to the heart. My prayer is that we be cut to the heart today, that we would be prompted to tears of how we have failed Jesus, how we have failed a holy God, how we have grieved the Holy Spirit. And lastly, that we be cut to the heart, but respond and leave here new. The Jews asked, what shall we do? And they were saved and immediately received the Holy Spirit. The rest of the book of Acts is nothing less than the history of the greatest revival known to mankind. So what about us?
What about us? What about today? We've been given a divine opportunity to receive, to remain, and most importantly, to respond to the Holy Spirit. And it all starts with what I've been teaching you, repentance. But the Holy Spirit told me, you know, Rod, the 120, remember they were together, united in one place? So where Sister Edith was repenting, Sister Sarah was hearing. Where Sister Brooke was repenting, Brother Joseph was hearing. Where Sister Jack was repenting, Elias was hearing, prompting Elias to repent so Sister Lisa would hear. When they preached to the 3,000, the 3,000 were like, what shall we do? Repent. What do you think happened then? They began repenting publicly. I've been a doer, a doer, I've been a liar, a cheat. There was no one looking around because the Spirit of God was there. There was no one looking around. Ain't nobody worried about who was looking at you, you're before a holy God. They were responded because they had godly Saral. So the question I ask you is will you allow God
to deposit godly Saral and transform you today? I'm gonna begin with myself. Is there anybody here with me? Let me describe my sins. Suicidal drug addict, a liar, a cheat, an adulterer, a violent and angry, vicious, wicked, and vile man. Who amongst you is ready to take a step forward? Let me describe it to the altar of God as an act of repentance. This is why I stand with you because as your pastor, as your shepherd, I'm here to tell you that I'm the chief sinner, but I choose a lifestyle of repentance. What I've done as sin, it's not who I am, it's what he's saved me from. matter I want to tell you so because I already see people acting like they got to go to the service station yeah I ain't playing around with y'all like I see pastors thinking to myself oh my god no if you're a pastor a leader and you want to publicly repent hey I'm I'm repenting right now get up and come up here if you're visiting today I want you to hear my heart I never do this but when the Lord asked you to do something I have to follow through I have to be obedient and if we want revival Holy Ghost for five that means that if we've sinned if we've come up short if we have lived outside the standard of what God has told us to live hey look I'm not asking you to be perfect I'm just asking you to publicly repent to publicly say I failed you listen I've been the adulterer I've been the one that's failed you I have made this decision to go out and cheat on my wife to cheat on my husband and if you're thinking well I
haven't done that Jesus says that if you've lusted in your heart you're already an adulterer if you're a murderer I've never murdered anyone he said if you hate in your Jesus has set the standard so high because he wants you to repent the liar the cheater the gossip the sexually immoral the the abusers of substances the abuser of indulgences the the controlling those that think they can control their children those that they think they can control their spouses the prideful the ones I think I don't need to do that if I don't need nobody in my business if that's you then you need to come up here you need to come up here everything changes once we lay down our pride the addicts maybe your problem is addiction it's your God that we that Adderall that Xanax that antidepressant yes I said it that antidepressant is your God because if God was your God then you wouldn't need it you would wean off of it and let God heal you let God be your joy let God and I know I'm gonna get torn up online by psychologists what I'm saying but I believe I'm crazy enough to believe in what the the Bible says the idolaters those that love their football teams their baseball teams their basketball teams their soccer teams more than they love God those with violent tendencies those with violent words those with murderous hearts those with unforgiveness all those who have failed can I be honest with you the Word of God says for all have fallen short of the glory of God and I'm gonna tell you something you will go right back this is a look I gotta tell you if you don't publicly repent you will go back lastly I want to say it's safe here to admit that you failed the standards God has given you that's Peter I want to be in that car you want to be in that company I want to be in that company you're making this declaration hey I failed you I have not lived the standard of God and I believe that Jesus is the Son of God that he was born of a virgin that he lived suffered and died but on the third day he rose again and anyone according to Scripture anyone that believes that and confesses that with their mouth shall be saved but today there's a challenge that challenge is simply this I'm choosing repentance I'm choosing to receive to remain and
respond this is what a lifestyle of repentance looks like this today is a historic moment it's a spiritual moment in which we've made a declaration that we will repent and live saved. This is true salvation. Father God, I thank you. Thank you for everybody here. We have a holy mess up here, so God bless our prayer team as they try to figure out who needs prayer and who doesn't. But I know you're full of joy, Lord. I know the Spirit of God is full of joy. I pray for every single one of these people to have a spiritual, beautiful encounter with your Spirit. As they go on with their day, as they have lunch, as they talk about this moment, as they talk about what this meant and what their next steps are, as they venture into the 21 days of prayer, Lord, that your Spirit speak to them like never before. Let those that didn't speak in tongues speak in tongues. Let those that want to prophesy prophesy. Let those that desire healing come. Give them power in their hands to touch and heal, Lord. Give them the power to see visions, to see dreams. But most importantly, give them the ability to be bold in a post-Christian world where we need to preach the gospel and make disciples. I pray this in Jesus' mighty name. Amen, amen. Come on, we're going to stay in this moment for a little bit. I know you have your schedules. I know you have things you want to run to, but if you're in the front here, it's because you want God to do something for you. And so whatever you have to pray for, we're going to keep this happening.
