Our Goal? Knowing Jesus Intimately

- Hey, I'm Stephen Kenneth. I'm here with my friend Robin Cox. Let me have a, I'm gonna ask you a question. Have you ever wanted to get to know God better? - All the time. - All the time. - Every day. - Amen. But when I got saved in prison, I wanted to get to knowing better. - Yes. - And I, the Lord just put me on, under this verse that really stuck with me, John 17, three in the garden before Jesus went to the cross. He's praying to the Father and he says, part of what he says, now this is eternal life, that they may know you the only true God and Jesus Christ whom you have sinned. And one day when I was reading that, the word no just stood up off of that page and I went and looked it up and the Greek behind that is Genosco or Genosco and it means to know intimately. - Yes. - Not just to know about but to know intimately. And so what I began to learn is that we can know Jesus, we can know God intimately and John 17, three, that is the very desire that Jesus has for us is that we would know God and know his son.

And this is Jesus speaking right here. Not know who he is, but know him from the sacred chamber, the core of our being intimately and personally. - Yes. - Where we were thrust out just to know more about him and to love him and be obedient. - Amen. And I wanna encourage you to, if you are interested in getting to know God better and he says that we can do that, then we want to encourage you to look up, look for that course, enrolling the course and you can go through all the videos at your leisure right there and you will learn so much. And actually it's a short video on every chapter in this book. John 1027, Jesus says, "My sheep know my voice." It says, "My sheep listen to my voice. "I know them and they follow me." And that's the same intimacy of knowing. In Matthew seven, 21 and 23,

when Jesus says, "Depart from me, "you worker of iniquity, I never knew you." It's that same intimacy of knowing. So it's critical that we have an intimate personal relationship with Jesus. This has been so important to me that as the Lord blessed me to have a teaching gift and a motivational gift of teaching and encouragement, he's allowed me to write eight books and three of them are about knowing God. So I wrote the little book knowing the, knowing the one who leads you 100 days of Holy Spirit Fellowship and then this one, knowing Jesus intimately and then knowing the Father. And that knowing is an intimacy of knowing, not just knowing about. - Right. I mean, there's so much information thrown at people today, Stephen, intellectually. And but Jesus in John 73 is speaking to the heart. - Yes. - To the essence and core of your being of who you are. - Yes. - And he wants to know you personally and then he wants you to know him personally. - Yes. - And develop that lifelong love intimate relationship. - Amen. - Where you get stronger and stronger and stronger

and more in love with him every day. - Amen. So I was thinking about, well, who is this course actually for? Well, it's for new believers. - Yes. - To begin to become familiar with scripture and familiar with concepts like, well, what is sanctification or what is submission? It's for believers who desire to grow and mature in their faith because you can actually learn a lot in each one of these chapters, their short chapters, but in their pact with scripture. It's for any serious student of the world. - Yes. - Who wants to teach others. jails, who are willing to have a Bible study and share these concepts with other people. And there are people that are listening who have a gift of teaching. So it's for those people too. Even though they may already know quite a bit about the word, this challenge is even a serious student of the word. This is a great opportunity for you to gather 10 or 15 people, men around you, or women, if you're in a women's facility and say, "Hey, we're going to go through this chapter by chapter, day by day, and we're going to learn how to get to know Jesus Christ more intimately and more passionately than we ever have." You know what, I really liked this, we went through each one of these chapters together in this course, is we would point out that there are ways a practical application section in each chapter how to apply each chapter to your life so that you see positive, measurable results. And that to me is important. It's great to read the scripture, but we need to also apply it to our lives. Stephen, this book is for me, amen. I have been refreshed. I've been saved about 45 years, but I've been refreshed and renewed, and there's been a flame rekindled in my heart. And it's for all of us. Yes. And so I need it, and so do you. Amen. So the other thing, it is in short chapters, so it's easily like when I was in prison, I started

a daily prayer call. With prayer call, you know, we get guys together for prayer, and maybe we'd have a little devotional thing. And these chapters are ideal for something like that. As you mentioned a while ago, get somebody, gather them up and just go through this at your own pace, but they are short chapters, and they're kind of designed for small bites. About 20 minutes long, and the videos are about 20 minutes long. Yeah. And probably you can read the chapter in 20 minutes. Yes. Yes.
