Well over the last few weeks you've gotten to hear about this more vision where we believe God is leading us as a church over the next few years and I'm so excited for you to get to hear more about it today, Pastor Daniel's going to bring a word on one more, the role that each of us play in seeing people come to know Jesus but before you hear from Pastor Daniel you're going to get to see one more part of the documentary that we've been putting together as just a testimony of God's faithfulness through the history of our church. You saw a couple of episodes a few weeks ago, today we're going to be seeing episode 4 which is just a great episode of families of individuals of people sharing how God has been so good and gracious to them. So I want you to turn your attention to the screen and we'll watch this video again. So I was born in China and I was found in a box by an orphanage and then adopted at eleven a month old, came to America, lived in Virginia my whole life. God led us to Liberty through a co-worker, he invited us for the Christmas service and then we just loved it. The community at Liberty is just something that I've never really experienced before. It was so selfless, no one cared what I had to offer, it was like an overflow of love that I felt that like kept me here. It's one of the most welcoming churches that I've ever been to. From the moment you're coming through one of the main doors, all the way, all the staff, I mean all the way up to the leadership, the pastors, everybody is just so welcoming. They make you feel right at home. We brought us to Liberty January of 2023. Liberty was the last church we wanted to come to because of being quote unquote mega.
We did our first time of a three day praying and fasting and we came out of that as the sun was rising, we're breaking fast and the Holy Spirit dropped in our spirit to work more. And so when I heard that around this community, I'm like God, you are so faithful to your daughter, you're not even going to let me walk away from that door. God has used Liberty in a crazy way. I mean, when I came here, he changed my friend group, he changed my community, he completely changed me. Like when I fully plugged in at Liberty, my entire life changed. I was a different person, my friends in law school did not recognize me, I met my husband here. I feel like I became who I was meant to be and who I was always called to be when I was taught. For me, Liberty has changed my life a lot. It's really like ushered me into the presence of God and to know Jesus intimately, not just religiously, but in a relationship. My pastor grands all the time, man, it's not a religion, it's not a religion, but a relationship with Jesus. When you get into your 80s, like I am, you've seen God work a lot in the past in 23 years of being here. We have seen community is just everything. Those relationships have been more than family relationships really. This is family, truly, because all our close family is an angel. So for us, this has been family. My name is Barbara Evans, I'm 91 years old, the Lord's been good to me. I was 13 years old when I started at Debbie Heights, and that's when the church got started. God has the purpose for this church. He hasn't left it here this long before it just sits empty. That's a responsibility that he has given Liberty to light that light again, that it might shine out through the neighborhood.
I think this is a hallelujah moment that we could have all that's going on, and I feel more than blessed. People ask me, "What are you most excited about?" It's not the number of campuses, it's not even the... Jesus left the 90 and 90 to go after the one. And so I often say we're here for those that are not yet here. And I just see where God is working, and he is obviously a bless and put his hand a favor on every location. (dramatic music) - I think the thing that most excites me is there's no limit. His kingdom is so much bigger than we could ever even dream. And so as long as we stick with them and we trust him, he'll keep taking us further and further and further. And it'll just get bigger and bigger and bigger. - What I'm most excited about just in the years to come and what God's doing with this fresh vision is watching literally the body of Christ come to life. (upbeat music) - I get the joy and privilege of watching my husband just walk in his calling. And when people know their purpose and why God created them and why they're here on this earth, the body of Christ works more powerfully together. And so I just have loved as, you know, we've talked about this vision, as what's to come, is seeing everybody use their gifts and talents that the Lord has given them. And he's using it to do more.
What that more is is more of his spirit, more of his outpouring, more of his calling, his people to himself. - I'm so excited about the future. I'm excited for more people to continue to come to know Christ. I'm excited for more people to be equipped, to be leaders in the faith. I'm excited just about new opportunities to serve, new opportunities to meet more people, to make more disciples. (dramatic music) - I can't wait to see where God takes it. I am so excited. I've lost sleep out of sheer excitement of what God is getting ready to do. - So as we think about the future and what God has, it's not about our name, the Ethriches. It's not even about Liberty Live Church. It's about his name. And we want the gospel of Jesus Christ to go on through generations. - Sometimes you hear a lot of people say that the reason they left their church is because they outgrew it. And there's no outgrowing or outpacing what God is doing at Liberty. It is just a series of stretching your faith and stretching you for more, stretching you to receive more from God, stretching you to do more for God in every way and in every facet.
- A family grows by giving birth. This family knows that. - Exciting dates. - And then by adoption, fall string, our family's done that. And then you equip even nieces and nephews who may not be in your immediate family. And I believe God's calling us to do that as a church, that he is calling Liberty to be a network, a family of churches. And so in the next seven years, he will open doors that we will launch new campuses and we will adopt existing churches. There are so many churches out there who are struggling. - I've only passed through three churches. All of them were over a hundred years old. All of them had been in decline. I mean, by God's grace, he turned it around. And in every one of those churches, it was our prayer promise of Ephesians 3, 20, and 21. We believe that he will do more than we can ask or think. And God wants to do more in your life. He wants to do more in your home, in your marriage. He wants to do more in your family, more in your business, more in your career. God has so much more than you can even imagine if you will, but trust him and follow him. And just say, God, my yes is on the table. And I will do whatever it is that you want me to do.
And let him take you on the journey. - This more initiative is about stepping into all God has for us. God's not just building a church, he's building a people, a people after his own heart, a people who are filled with the fullness of his spirit. And this isn't about the name of liberty. This isn't about the name of any pastor or any ministry. This is about the name of Jesus and the call of God to build his church and to reach the ends of the earth. And so, that is the more. It's more of his glory, more of his presence, more of his spirit and power at work times. And I want you to know that Tammy and I, one day, will be in that great cloud of witnesses. And if God carries this coming, we're going to be cheering the next generation on. We want to invest in this generation so that they will do more than we ever did for the cause of Christ. And so, we're excited about what God has done in the past, what he is doing right now, but we do believe the best is yet to come. Let's tell me and I want you to know that we love you. Thank you for going on the journey. We are so grateful for what God has done in the past, excited about what he's doing right now in the present. And we're believing God for more of what he will do in the future as we change lives, communities and the world for Jesus Christ. ♪♪ Well, amen. Are you excited to be at church today? I hope that gets you as fired up as it gets me. And I'm so excited about what God is doing in this more series. And, guys, we all helped me with that TV there. I'm so excited of the journey that God's taking us on together. This morning, we're going to be in Luke chapter 15. And as you turn in your Bibles there, I'm so excited about the testimonies that I'm hearing come out of your personal time with the Lord and your journey with him through this more initiative. And I hope you have your guide with you. It looks like this at every location. If you don't have it with you, you can grab one at the hub or the kiosk in the gathering area. Ask one of your ushers for one. Today's notes are going to be on page, let's see.
47, thank you. Y'all are fast. You're on your game today, I love that. 47. And if you see, in the following pages, there are devotionals for you to go through as a group and on your own. And there are QR codes right there for you to watch the videos that we've put together. I'm trying to tell you, we've never worked this hard on something and I hope you're going through it. Come on somebody, I hope you're going on the journey with us because we believe God has more for you. And he has more for every one of us. Doesn't matter if you're a child, a senior adult, if it doesn't matter if you're a child, a senior adult, if you're your first time here today or if you've been here for decades. God has more for you live. I want to show you, we haven't talked about it, but there is a family guide that's at the hubs and the kiosks. You can find it near Kidville or ask one of our staff for it. And it's for you to walk your children through devotionals that they can understand at their level. And I can't tell you, when we were building this worship center here at Hampton, we did an emphasis called Greater Things. God did something in my life during that season as a child that I've never gotten over. And I want you to go through, if you're a parent, I want you to go through the guide with your children, they have things that they can do to learn how to live for Jesus. And I told you, it's at a letter they can, a level they can understand. They can draw a picture or think a teacher. They can pick up trash in their neighborhood. They can clean up their sibling's room. "Oh my goodness, somebody." How many of you know the Holy Spirit would have moved? including teaching them generosity. And especially during this holiday season, there's an initiative there for them to bring a toy, a toy that they care about so that somebody else can experience the love of Jesus. How many of you know it's how you live?
It's not just what you say, it's how you live. Even our children can understand that, and I'd love for you to walk them through the God. Luke chapter 15, I hope you're already there. Advanced Commitment Night is next Sunday night at 6 p.m. We've worked so hard on this one evening, and I want you to come with expectation. It's a night for our leaders to lead from the front. It's gonna be an incredible night together. I promise you, you will never forget it. We have modeled it after services in years gone by, and I'm so excited about how God's gonna use it. If you're online or you don't have your book today, you can always use the QR code to be able to go through the more guide online. Are you at Luke 15 yet? I gave you plenty of time to get there. This morning, I've entitled the message one more. I don't know that I've carried as much of a burden to preach any message here at Liberty, especially in the last few years, as I have carried in bringing this message to you today. I wanna preach with clarity. I'm gonna preach with a lot of conviction, because I believe that this one issue will be the defining issue of who we are as a church going forward. I wanna say it for you one more time. I believe what I'm about to preach to you will be the defining issue of who we are
as a church going forward. Luke chapter 15, starting in verse one. All the tax collectors and sinners were approaching to listen to Jesus. And the Pharisees and scribes were complaining. This man welcomed sinners and eats with them. Doesn't this sound like a bunch of church people? They're probably Baptist, but I can't say that for sure. This man welcomed sinners, I'm kidding, they were Jews. All the Southern Baptists gotta calm down, okay? We're gonna get through it together. This man welcomed sinners and eats with them. So Jesus told them this parable, what man among you who has 100 sheep and loses one of them does not leave the 99 in the open field and go after the lost, you say it, one, until he finds it. And when he has found it, he joyfully puts it on his shoulders. And coming home, he calls his friends and neighbors together saying to them, rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep. I tell you, in the same way, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over 99 righteous people who don't need repentance. Let's pray, Holy Spirit, I'm asking you to do for you to do in these next few moments what only you can do. I pray that you would give me the conviction to preach as a dying man, to dying men. I pray that you'd fill me with your Holy Spirit. Help me to say every word that you have for us this hour,
keep me from saying anything you don't want me to say. I pray you would speak to us clearly. I pray that my preaching would not rest in the clever or cunning words of men, but empower and demonstration of the Spirit of God so that our faith might rest in your spirit. Would you do it for your namesake and glory? In Jesus' name we pray, everybody said, amen. The first thing I see from this parable is a clear focus, a clear focus. Jesus gives them an illustration that in their day and time, they would have perfectly understood. He says, what man among you who has a hundred sheep and loses one of them does not leave the 99 in the open field and go after the lost one. That's why I called it one more. Jesus had a heart and a clear focus on those who were lost. And he gave them an everyday illustration so that they would be able to understand the truth of what he was teaching. Now, we're not raising sheep anymore, not many shepherds here, maybe somebody out in Gloucester or Smithfield was like, this is true, but for most of us that's not what we do day to day, right? But we all know what it is to lose something. Have you ever gotten halfway through your day and not been able to find your wallet? You know how panicking that feeling is? I can't do anything without that.
I need more. You ever misplaced your wallet or Lord forbid, you ever misplaced your phone? If you ever see somebody just standing there with a little tick in public, they probably can't find their smart phone, okay? I mean, the addiction level is unbelievable. We can't even talk because we're glued to our, that's another sermon for another day. We don't have time for it right now. You ever lost your phone? We had some friends over to the house recently and all the kids were playing together. They got ready to leave. They jumped in their car, no keys. And they said, ah, we left them inside on the counter. We went in there and looked on the counter. The keys weren't there. Now, when you have four toddlers running around, I mean, it is really something when things disappear. It could be in any drawer, at any level. It could be in any bag. I don't know what, my kids have an affinity for putting things into bags and then hiding them around the house, no clue. But we knew immediately we got to find these keys. We had every adult and every child turning over cushions, opening drawers, emptying out backpacks. I mean, it took us forever to find these keys
because when something's lost, you can't move forward until you find it. In fact, there are some things that are so important. Nothing else matters until it's found. Now, I can't identify with this. Maybe some parents in the room can. I know my parents can because my parents lost me one time. I've never lost my kids one time. (audience laughing) My parents lost me one time. They didn't really lose me. I think we lost them, but we were at JC Penney, shout out, and we were shopping. And you know, you women love to shop and Miss Tammy, she loves it. And she had us buckled in the side-by-side stroller. I have a twin brother. And she just pushed us along, shopping, shopping. All of a sudden, she looks down and nobody was in the stroller. And she started freaking out. In fact, it was such a thing. They told the workers of the store and they shut down the mall in order to find us. And my brother and I, we don't remember this. We were probably two, three years old, had climbed up in the middle of the circle rack. She knew what the circle rack is at JC Penney. And we were holding on, sitting on the little bars, and one of the workers heard us in their giggling.
We thought it was funny. We were hiding from everybody. Can you imagine if in the middle of them shutting down the mall to find us, if Taylor and Lindsey, my older siblings, would have come to her and said, "Hey, Mom, I know the boys are lost. I know the twins aren't here, but what are we eating for lunch?" If Taylor's real smart, he's a money guy, if Taylor would have come and said, "You know, Mom, two out of four is not terrible. It's 50 percent." We could leave without him. Can you imagine if they were to have the audacity? Lindsey, she loved shopping. She'd have come up and said, "Mom, I need new shoes. Forget about the twins. We got to focus on the shoes." And that's how ridiculous it sounds to the heart of God. When we focus on what church people focus on, instead of reaching the lost. I sit through meetings with church members all the time, and I love you, but I'm gonna tell you in advance, I sit there thinking, "I don't think God cares about this." You care about this. Maybe I care about this. I don't think God cares about. We talk about things that don't matter.
We get sidetracked on issues that aren't important. And meanwhile, all around us, there is a lost and dying world going to hell. Thousands and thousands of people lost, and Jesus has a clear focus on the lost. Unapologetically, our church must be a church focused on those who are lost. You think about Hampton Roads where God's place says there are 1.8 million people on average Sunday morning, and this is taking the greater cities like Richmond into account, Williamsburg, Virginia Beach. 522,000 people are in church on an average Sunday morning in Hampton Roads, 522,000 out of 1.8 million. You say, "Isn't this church big enough?" No, there's not a gospel-believing Bible church in all of Hampton Roads that's big enough. If we filled every single state, look around at your campuses. Every one of those seats represents somebody who doesn't know Jesus. And if we filled every seat over in as many services as we could pack people in, we still would not have done what God called us to do because he has a heart for the lost. Hundreds of thousands of people. That's why I keep telling you all, you don't understand the revival that's coming. It's so much bigger than liberty. 10,000 people right now at every one of our locations
this Sunday morning. 10,000 people physically in the room, but think about all the lost that still need Jesus. We're here for those, We've got to go reach them. Unchurch, 1.278 million people in Hampton Roads. Well, think about the losses in the world. It's not just right here. 8.3 billion people in the world, 5.9 billion people who, if they died right now today, what's been an eternity separated from God? Who's gonna reach them? Who is God calling out to the nations? 3,204 people groups, languages that do not have any of the written word of God in their language. Church, we haven't done our job in reaching the lost. Don't you hear the spirit of God called? Who will go? And I'm wondering who today will say, "Send me, send me." So I'm asking you, God has a focus, a clear focus on the one who has lost. So who's your one? Who is the person that is closest to you that's furthest from God? I want you to commit every day of your life to pray for them that they might know God. Who's your one? But it's more than just prayer. I see a compelling pursuit. Not just a clear focus, I see a compelling pursuit.
Now Jesus followed the parable of the lost sheep with the lost coin. Look at where he goes to in verse eight. What woman who has 10 silver coins if she loses one coin does not lie to lamp, sweep the house and search carefully until she finds it. And when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together saying, "Rejoice with me "because I found the silver coin I lost." And I tell you, in the same way, there is joy in the presence of God's angels over one sinner who repents. I want you to see the pursuit that she has. She lights a lamp, she sweeps the house, she searches carefully until she finds it. She's a picture of persistence and pursuit. If you think about the whole reason Jesus gave these parables is because in verse two, the Pharisees and scribes were complaining, "This man, Jesus, welcome sinners and eats with them." And I wonder if your life and my life looks like what Jesus' life really looked like. Who's around your dinner table? Who do you spend time with? One of the struggles in preparing for this message for me was that my entire life is in a Christian bubble. And I can't stand religious people. I'm serious. It draws me insane. There's nothing I love more
than getting around new believers who are just waking up to the things of God. It just lights a fire inside of me. People awakening to the truth of the gospel. And I'm with a bunch of church people all the time. And I started praying through and thinking, how can we reorient our lives so that we can be an intentional relationship with those who do not know Jesus? And you ought to reorient your life in the same way. You ought to be intentionally building relationships. We have to be intentionally reaching the loss. There's opportunity all around us. Opportunity all around us. I think about, I was at a birthday party for the Stevens kids, A.J. and Katie are right here on the front row. They had a joint birthday party out at a park. And we were in the middle of conversation, talking to a bunch of people. And all the kids were running a muck. You know how a bunch of kids are at a birthday. And all of a sudden this teenager walked up and in the middle of the conversation interrupted. Held up his phone, he said, y'all know who this cartoon character is? I thought, brother, what are you doing? We're talking. I said, no, no, no, I don't know who that is. And I was just kind of like, why in the world is he here?
And didn't know him, we were at a public park and all of a sudden he walks off. A few minutes later I look over and A.J. is in a 30 minute conversation with the kid. I'm like, what is he doing? This kid much needs something. So I went to rescue A.J. and on the way over, 'cause I'm a good friend. And on the way over. (audience laughs) I heard him sharing the gospel. And I thought, you big dummy. I thought I was being interrupted. God was sending somebody who needed him. And A.J. had the awareness to see the conversation that needed to take place. In the middle of his kid's birthday party, he said, y'all go do whatever you mean. I'm gonna share Jesus with this kid. All of us are called to be witnesses. Acts chapter one verse eight, you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come on you. And you will be my, you say it, witnesses in Jerusalem. In all Judea and Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Now he's talking to a bunch of Jews. When he said you'll be my, They would have said, yeah, amen in Jesus. Amen, my people right there. Benny said Judea and Samaria.
Now, hold on, we don't mix with them. Those aren't our kind of people. See, we built walls up where we were meant to build bridges. We have our own ideologies. We allow things like politics to divide us and suddenly it's become a us and then mentality in the church. What are you talking about? We're here for them. It's not a us and then. God's sending us to reach them. And so we gotta build bridges of intentional relationship so that other people might know Jesus. Stop dividing yourselves in all of these crazy ways. You're dividing yourselves from the very people God's called you to reach. We don't understand our role in this whole process. We're called to be witnesses. Now, there's a difference between a witness and an attorney. An attorney has to have an airtight case. Be ready for every question. No question that you asked that I can't answer. Why? An attorney's gotta win the case, win the argument. We're not called to be attorneys. We're called to be witnesses. You know what a witness does? Just tells their story, sits on the stand. I don't know what all y'all are talking about.
I don't understand any of the legal jargon in this room. All I know is this is where I was at this time and this is what happened. It reminds me of the people who met Jesus in the body. They started having an argument over the healing power of Jesus and the Pharisees start saying, well, why was the man blind to begin with? And why could this man see now? And the man speaks up and says, I don't know. But what I do know is I was blind, but now I see. That's a testimony. You think about the woman at the well. The woman at the well meets Jesus. She runs back to her town and says, come see a man who told me everything I've ever done. That's a testimony. You think about the disciples, the apostles and Acts chapter four, they said, we cannot help. But speak about the things we've seen and heard. You're called to be a witness. And you don't have to have all the answers. Hey, you know what it's okay to say? I don't know. Somebody all don't witness 'cause you're afraid of somebody asking you a question you don't know. Friend, you don't know. It's okay to say, I don't know. It's okay to say, I need to look into that
in the scriptures. I need to study that more. Hey, I'm so glad you asked me that. I'm gonna come, I'm gonna look into that and I'm gonna come back and talk to you. It's okay not to have all the answers. Jesus has all the answers. But you be a faithful witness where you are. We're a witness to everything, our sports teams, our favorite restaurants, our favorite places to go. I love Mexican food. I was eating Mexican food last night. And have you ever talked to people about Mexican food? They'll tell you, they all have a preference. They'll tell you, why are you going there? We ought to be going across town too. We talk about the things we love. I was at my kids school the other day and two guys were standing there talking about their trucks. You know what I left thinking? I need a truck. (congregation laughing) I don't need a truck. But they were good witnesses to their trucks. I mean, we talk about our sports teams. Lord help us, we talk about our sports teams. Mine's been losing for 33 years. I still talk about them. Arkansas Razorbacks, woo pig, sue me, come on somebody. (congregation laughing)
We're test, we testify to the things in life that we think are worth talking about. So why are we talking about Jesus? We ought to be a testament. There are no secret agents in the kingdom of God. Loud and proud because when God really changes you, restores you, heals, you can't help but talk about it. You gotta be a witness under Christ. And I truly believe, I've tried to think about what is the best evangelistic tool and how can we do training? We put together classes and nobody comes to them. I'm just being honest with you. Out of 10,000 people 12 show up to learn how to be a witness. Praise God. It only took 12 of Jesus. So our statistics aren't terrible. But I really think the evangelistic tools of the late '90s, early 2000s have hindered us in being a witness. Romans wrote, and I believe in these, I was trained in them. Romans wrote, evangelism, explosion are amazing tools. But it hinders us because we think every single conversation we're supposed to present is a full gospel and somebody's supposed to kneel right there and pray, sign a card, pray a prayer, or we didn't succeed in what we were trying to do. And I wanna change the way you think about witnessing, okay? It's such a goal this morning.
This is called the Ingle scale. disciple of Jesus. By the way, how do you measure that? Even on the angle scale, those who multiply are true disciples. Disciples who make disciples. We got to change our measuring. It's not who gets baptized. It's who wins others to the Lord. So how do you become a multiplying disciple? Well people start with no awareness or some awareness, some with even negative views toward Christianity, honestly because of things they've experienced or bad experiences at church. And everybody you're encountering is somewhere where on the spectrum of knowing and serving loving Jesus. In everyday conversations, rather than focusing on somebody bending their knee and praying a prayer, what if we just focus on helping them take another step closer? I don't play football, but I do love it and I love watching it. And here's the thing, every play in football is not about getting a touchdown. In fact, you just want to move the ball down the field. First downs. You need first downs in order to be at the part of the field where you can get an easy touchdown. So the goal is we're just moving the ball down the field, moving the ball down the field. Listen, you got to realize in everyday conversations you can move the ball forward and it doesn't have to be a touchdown. Now you start out praying because everybody is awakened to the things of God by the spirit of God. We need him to do what we can't do, which is why you need to pray over something. You need to write down the name of your one or maybe you have a few and put it in your Bible or put it in a private place and every day of your life you need those names in front of you.
Now don't put it in a place where they'll see it because they'll walk into your cubicle and they'll say Hank and Hank will be like what's that and you're going to be like Hank you're going to hell and I've been meaning to talk to you. I mean this is more awkward than I thought it was going to be but I mean it's a lake of fire, it's a lot. So put it in a private place and pray for them. But what happens is in everyday conversations as you talk to people you can help move the ball forward. It starts out by just living with the love and light of Jesus. Come on leave good tips somebody. Christians ought to be the best workers, bosses ought to go home at night and think why is that guy so positive, why is he so good at his job? I need more people like him. That's the type of reputation Christians ought to have and then it moves toward this negative view to this positive view of Christianity. I don't follow Jesus but godly I like being around those people. Which is why when you walk in a room they ought to experience the fruit of the spirit. Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, hey nobody in the world lives like that. They ought to experience it through you and they start moving toward this positive view of Christianity and what I've found is as you listen to people talk about their journeys. You start hearing their struggles and their pain. And you want to move somebody from just being positive about church to being interested in following Jesus. It's by simple everyday comments when you hear their pain. I was talking to a woman one time, that's hard at the grocery store I believe and I was talking to a woman one time and she just looked down and we were getting ready to check out and I was making small talk and I said how's your day going she said not good. And I said why. And she said my mom just got diagnosed with a brain tumor. And I said I remember what that was like and I never would have made it without Jesus.
What if you're at the ship you are working and God starts talking about the problems in his marriage he just had an affair blew up his marriage whatever and you just said hey I had an affair I ruined my family but I never would have been able to heal without Jesus. And then just no sudden movements, no crazy statements, don't scare the squirrel away. And what happens is that guy's going to go home and go to sleep now and in his mind and heart he's going to say man I need healing. Maybe I could find it in Jesus and then he's going to get off work he's going to get in the traffic. This car is going to cut him off and be rude it's going to have a Liberty Live sticker on the back and he's going to go back here. Two steps back, one step forward two steps back. It's why it's so important you're a witness in everything you do. We have so many people show up and say I just saw all these stinkin' magnets. It's like elves everywhere I went. I think the Lord can use that but I really believe he uses these conversion conversations where people's hearts are open to the reality of the gospel. And you start hearing their pain, though. When Thomas got to Jesus, he said, "I want to see the scars so I can believe." What I found is as Christians, we like to cover every scar we have, but how will they know that Jesus can heal them until they see that he's healed you? Well, why aren't more people in the church saying, "God freed me in this way, God healed me in this way." I was abused as a kid, but God healed me but redemption in my life. I was addicted to pornography. I was stuck in sexual addiction, but God freed me.
I thought that was my identity that God changed me. We need those types of testimonies in the church. They need to know that what God did for you, he can do for them. And step-by-step conversation by conversation, you invite them to church, and all of a sudden they're open. I've never been to church before. I haven't been to church in years because of the bad experience, but I'm going now because they've been a witness to me. I'm all about church invites. I love people coming to church with you, but the truth is they're not all 1.27 million people are not coming to a Liberty location. And for everybody who's not coming to hear, for everyone who will not step foot in the church, we have to go to them. You say, "I'm never going to that mega church, that's okay." You're watching us on TV this morning, saying, "Now I had bad experience in church. "I'm not going back to church. "Friend, we're coming to you with the truth of Jesus." I'm telling you, it would radically redefine who we are as a church. If we really lived this and understood, then in everyday conversations, we could move the ball forward and help people take a step closer to Jesus. I want you to pray every day for your one, but I want you to talk to everyone.
What I've come to realize is it's hard to reach your one, your family, your kids, your grandkids, they don't listen to you like they listen to somebody else. Sometimes you're so close you can't reach them. But while you're praying for them every day, you're reaching somebody else's grandchild. You're ministering to somebody else's brother, friend, and somebody's reaching yours. Well, the last thing that I see in this passage is a consistent conclusion in both the first two parables and in the third that I didn't get to today, the prodigal son, the lost or found. Rejoice because I found my lost sheep. And I tell you in the same way, there'll be more joy in heaven over one center who it impents than over 99 righteous people who don't need repentance. You see it again in verse nine, when she finds it, she calls her friends and neighbors together saying, "Rejoice!" I found the silver coin I lost. Jesus said, "I tell you in the same way, "there's joy in the presence of God's angels "over one center who repents." It's why I'm gonna get to the end of the service. We say, "All of heaven rejoices." So will you celebrate those who just made that decision? Well, why do we say that? Because this is what heaven celebrates. Heaven celebrates people coming to know Jesus.
One day you're gonna stand at the throne. We're gonna try to say all these things. Well, didn't I do this in your name and this in your name and this in your name and this what I believe Jesus is gonna look back at us and say, "Who did you bring with you?" I was looking for disciples who would carry me to the nations. Who did you bring with you? I was looking for faithful witnesses who would make me known to those who needed me the most. Who did you bring with you? He's not gonna be impressed with our religious accolades or how many times we came to church. How many verses we've memorized? He's gonna wanna know, did we reach the lost? And if we don't reach the lost, this is some big crazy country club with people who dress up and look nice and smell good, but they are not about the things that Jesus himself was about. It's all about one more. There will be hundreds of thousands of people who come to know Christ in the coming revivals. But the best service you ever sit in, the best conversation you ever have will not be the moment where Jesus spoke to you. It'll be the moment Jesus used you to reach somebody else. And I'm asking you, will you answer the call to reach the lost? One more, one more, we already have 10,000 people on Sunday morning, Daniel, how big does somebody ask me this week, Daniel, how big does liberty need to get?
This isn't about how big liberty can get. This is about lost people who need Jesus. We'll partner with every Bible-believing church, every legacy church who wants to make Jesus known. We'll send believers to the ends of the earth. chapter nine, and I'm done. When he saw the crowds, he felt compassion for them because they were distressed and dejected like sheep without a shepherd. And then he said to his disciples, "The harvest is abundant, but the workers are few. Therefore, pray to the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest." Church, we have work to do. We have work to do. And so I'm asking you to ask yourself and reflect, are you focused on the right things? We're so distracted. We need to get focused on the lost. Are you intentionally pursuing relationships with the lost? Some of you are here right now at one of our campuses, you're watching online. Because somebody loved you and cared about you enough to start building a relationship with you. And you're here because of them. But can I tell you greater than that person sitting next to you is a God who loves you and died to save you. And he drew you here this morning. You came to Omega Church, you never thought you would be in.
You thought the whole place would cave in when you walked in. We're still here because Jesus loves you and he wants you to know us. I want every head to be bowed, every eye closed. Nobody looking around, do you know Jesus? I'm asking you, do you know Jesus? If you don't, this can be your moment. You say, "Dear Lord Jesus, I hear you." Speaking to me right now, pouring your love into my heart. Dear Lord Jesus, I need you. Jesus, I don't want to live on my own anymore. And I believe that you lived the life I couldn't live. You died in my place to save me. And right now Jesus, I'm coming home to you. Be my Lord, be my Savior. Help me to know how to walk with you. In Jesus' holy, precious name that we pray, amen. Such a powerful message from our Hampton campus pastor, Pastor Daniel. And I loved what he said about pursuing one more. It's about one more knowing and believing to follow Jesus. And what makes me excited about speaking to you directly on this online audience is we have people watching from all over right now. I was watching as Ginny and Kyle were talking at the top of the service. There was someone from California. There was someone from Ghana. There was someone from Hawaii, from Cancun, Mexico,
from Roanoke. And what would it look like if people from all over in so many different locations this morning watching church right now to pursue one more? You're one more. Maybe it's a family member. Maybe it's a co-worker. Maybe it's someone that you get coffee from every morning at a Starbucks. I don't know who that person is, but what if wherever location you're at this morning, we made an intentional decision as Pastor Daniel just preached to reach one more person with the gospel and showing them the love of Jesus. Why? Not for the name of Liberty, but for their salvation. So their lives can be changed. So their bonds can be broken. So salvation can be found. And such a word that's needed right now. And it's just been an incredible series as we continue in this series called more. If you haven't gotten a guide yet, you can get one on our website. We have digital guides available, sermon notes, curriculum, group videos. You saw some of the documentary this morning. You can see more of that documentary on our YouTube page.
