Not Drunk, God Moved In | Pastor Eric Morris

What's up, men of God? Pastor Eric here, and I am so excited to bring this message to you. I want you to feel encouraged. I want you to feel hopeful. I want you to know that God is still working in your story. Our mission here at Victory City is to help every person take a step closer to Jesus. And can I tell you, man, as you're growing in the Lord, you're taking a step. So let's lean in, let's see what God has for us this week, and I know you'll be blessed for it, and I love you. Let's go to Acts chapter two, let's jump in, man. I hope you're hungry for the Lord and the word of God. We're gonna talk about the Holy Spirit today, and we're gonna start in Acts chapter two, verse one. If you're new with us, here's what we do. We read the scripture, we pray, and then we talk about the scripture and apply it to our lives, and then we leave edified, encouraged in the Lord, amen? Let's go, Acts chapter two, verse one. Oh, by the way, before I do that, hey, I wanna greet our Bartlett Innovation Unit. Guys, I love you so much. God bless you, men of God. Make sure to encourage or love your mothers if they're still with you. Acts chapter two, verse one. It says this, when the day of Pentecost arrived,

they were all together in one place, kinda like we are right now. And suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. And divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now, there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at the sound, the multitude came together, and they were bewildered because each one was hearing them speak in his own language, and they were amazed and astonished, saying, are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear each of us his own native language, Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, Cappadocia, Pontus, Asia, Phagria, Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians. We hear them telling in our own tongue the mighty works of God. Remember, I'm gonna pause here for a second and then read verse 12. Remember previously, what did Jesus say? He's saying, I'm gonna fill you

so that you can be witnesses. And here, this moment is a very descriptive moment because the Holy Spirit is giving the first century church the ability to tell the gospel in all the languages in the surrounding area. And then let's read verse 12 and 13. And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, what does this mean? But others, mocking, said, they are filled with new wine. I wanna title today's message, Not Drunk, Not Drunk, But God With Us, amen? God with us, let's pray in Jesus, or God Moved In, that's what I meant. God Moved In, Not Drunk, God Moved In. Forgot my own title, let's pray. Dear Heavenly Father, I pray in Jesus' name that, Lord, you would just help us. God, help us see this. And I pray uniquely today that, God, you would really show us what so many of us are missing out on. We have access to the Spirit of God, but many of us, we don't live like it. And I pray you would equip us, edify our minds, give us a hunger for the Spirit. I pray you stir that hunger this morning for the dynamic, for the miraculous, for the heaven-sent Spirit of God. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

Okay, when was the last time you were drunk? Been a few weeks, a few days, a few years? Never been, never been drunk? Here, the Holy Spirit moves in, and the first thing that outsiders think is these guys are a little tipsy. Like in the very, it ends, you see in verse 13, right? It says, these guys are filled with new wine. This is the kind of 33 A.D. version of a Four Loko. Hey-o. It's just cheap stuff that's really strong. Okay, let me just ask you a question. Have you ever had a drink, just not for the taste or the flavor, but just to catch a wave? Maybe this is pre-Christian. You didn't know we were gonna talk about this today, did you? You were like, man, we came to church. Come on, how many of you guys ever took a, how many of you guys have ever had a drink, not for the flavor, but just to catch a wave? You're like, I just need to catch a little something. All right, how many of you guys have ever been in a situation? where you had a social engagement and you're you feel like you're a better version of yourself socially when you've had a couple. Anybody ever feel that way? I know if you grew up Baptist you're like you don't tell anybody but you know you've ever heard the joke right about the yeah how do you keep a Baptist

from drinking your beer? You just bring another Baptist and then they won't drink in front of another? Okay so I know it's probably a little awkward for a pastor to start talking about alcohol. I grew up in a legalistic like super legalistic you don't ever do that and listen let me just first of all say I'm not endorsing alcohol in any way it's poisonous and man praise God if you can become free of that but the reason we need to unpack this is because outsiders who were watching these people be filled with the Holy Spirit they thought they were drunk. Now it's 9 a.m. in the morning when this is happening so this is not sloppy drunk this is like all-inclusive had a few at brunch drunk. Did you reckon with me? Like they're a little sauce they're a little like there's something going on now that we know they're not hear me we know I'm not calling the first disciples drunk I'm saying there were there was so much joy so much activity so much life so much zoo exuberance that people who weren't on the inside knowing what happened saw these people and go well they must be they must be already partying and it says that there were people who were amazed Wow what's going on here and there were people perplexed when it comes to the Holy Spirit there's some of you that have a natural disposition of amazement like you love it you're like man I'm all about the Holy Spirit I want to learn more about the Holy Spirit it's amazing to me and there's a little bit of predisposition maybe the way you were raised maybe though you're kind of more open to the things of the Spirit and when the Holy Spirit starts you start talking about Holy Spirit's like oh man this is awesome maybe some of you fall into the category of perplexity you're a little bit like okay I've got some questions I'm intrigued I'm curious tell me a little bit about it you you want to know but you've got questions one of the things we have to understand is that the Holy Spirit moved in such a way that truly outsiders saw Christians and thought they were already partying at 9 a.m. what is this that the Spirit of God brings a joy that doesn't have a hangover in Jesus name come on it brings a happiness that doesn't have where you wake up the next morning and feel like what have I done with my life it doesn't have a sting it's not a poison but it

creates something in us and so where does this joy come from this is a really important moment this is the Pentecost Sunday when the Holy Spirit begins to move into humanity's life and soul and we're going to talk about that this morning so we see the first thing in Acts chapter 2 verse 2 it says this that there's a wind and this is what brings the dead to life let me just stop here and go right to the scripture it says and suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind from heaven so this is not a horizontal wind this is a supernatural wind vertical from above and it filled the whole house this was saturation it wasn't partial and Luke is actually trying to qualify a little this a little bit he goes it's like a mighty rushing wind he's trying to use human language to describe a heavenly act so we can't look at this and go Luke is trying to be perfectly descriptive he is reaching for words to describe what doesn't quite actually fit perfectly he's going it was like a mighty rushing wind you see wind show up all throughout Scripture and wind is symbolic of the life of God breathing into humanity in Genesis chapter 2 verse 7 how are we created it says that God did what he breathed into Adam there is a wind there is a breath that is being breathed into humanity that then causes humanity to come alive in Ezekiel 37 you see the description of a valley of dry bones and the scripture says then he said prophesy to the breath prophesy son of man and say to the breath thus says the Lord come from the four winds O breath and breathe on these slain so that they may live so I prophesied as he commanded me and breath came into them and they lived stood on their feet and exceedingly great army John chapter 3 verse 8 Jesus is talking to Nicodemus and He's saying, the wind blows where it wishes. You can't control the wind. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit. John 20 verse 22 describes that Jesus breathes on His disciples and says, receive the Holy Spirit. What we have to understand here is this,

is one of the marks of the Holy Spirit is that He breathes life into us. Now let me show you the distinction. Many of you go, what do you mean life? I have life, I had a pulse. I had a heart rate before Jesus, that doesn't make any sense. What are you talking about? My Apple Watch said my resting heart rate was 65 beats per minute and that was before Jesus and now it's 63 because I got a little bit of peace. C.S. Lewis described it like this, there is what we call bios life, which is the biology of life, the heartbeat, the blood, the organs, the physical structure of life, but there's a whole different dimension to life and that's what's called in the Greek zoe life, meaning life to the abundance. How many of you would describe it like this? I'm alive, but then I felt fully alive. There's moments where we feel fully alive, where I'm really living, not just existing. This is what the Scripture is trying to show us is that when the Holy Spirit fills us, it gives us a life abundantly beyond just existence life. And some of us, we only know bios life, just simply waking up every day, I've got a pulse, I've got the functions, and we've not yet experienced what's called the zoe life, where literally the Spirit of God fills us to abundant life,

where the Spirit of God inhabits our life and causes things to come alive more beautifully. And let me just know that, man, when you feel fully alive, man, when you're with your spouse and it's a beautiful sunset and you're sitting, holding hands, and it just feels like amazing and you're like, ah, this is life. Come on, when do you feel fully alive? And how fleeting is it? How momentary is it? This mark of the Holy Spirit inhabiting the life of people is meant to bring life, and I wonder how many of us, we struggle through life. And if I'm honest with you, and just please lean in with me for just a second, I witness a lot of believers who try to white-knuckle life, and they think that the life with God is about rules and restrictions and don't do this and don't do that, but we see the very first encounter with the Holy Spirit here in the New Testament, and these people are having so much fun that outsiders think they're drunk. Not sloppy drunk, but dude, they are having an amazing time. And I wonder how many people come into churches and they feel like, man, these people have been like sucking on lemons. This is miserable, this is terrible. Like, do you guys even like life? Do you like people?

Like, are you just coming in, come on, how many of you guys have been to churches where you're like, are you even excited to be here? Like, have you ever met Christians who were just like miserable in their life? You ever met people online, and it's like, do you even enjoy, like, are you happy? Like, every comment you have is like hatred and mean and like gross, and it's like, is that really the Spirit of God? Here, the Scripture is telling us that when the wind blows in our life, and so which means it's access to us, that as we cultivate a relationship with the Holy Spirit who is a person, who is part of the Godhead, which is part of the Trinity, it's the very divine essence expressed through the Spirit of God, can dwell within us and bring us life. What I pray sometimes for the Holy Spirit is the Holy Spirit, I wanna have like a belly laugh this week. Like, when was the last time you had a belly laugh? You know what I'm talking about, like a belly laugh where like your kid does something and you and your spouse look at one another and you like almost start crying because you're laughing so hard. Has it been a decade? Has it been a year?

When was the last time you just had joy? When was the last time you had contentment and you didn't need something else, some other stimuli, you were just content? But the Spirit doesn't just recognize as wind, it also recognizes from fire, and it's symbolic, there's meaning here. In Acts chapter two, verse three, it says, and divided tongues of fire appeared to them and rested on each of them. Okay, it's important to understand the distinction, this is actually the hinge of the whole passage, this is the brilliance of the New Testament, this is the invitation to you and me. Let's look here, it says tongues of fire divided and rested on each. each of them, this is a Greek term called eka thyssen, eka thyssen, which means to sit down and take residence, not visiting, not passing over, so when the Holy Spirit first comes, and we see here in Acts chapter 2, it's the New Testament, the very first Christians are gathered together, Jesus says wait, I'm sending you another helper, and the Holy Spirit takes residence here on earth, He doesn't just visit you, and so many believers think that the Holy Spirit only happens in these energetic, emotional moments, where the chorus hits from the third song, you get some goosebumps, and you're like, mmm, it's not the Holy Spirit, and then Monday, you're back to miserable life, have you ever felt that way? But here, the Scripture is actually telling us something that maybe we haven't really cognitively understood, therefore we can't practically put into practice in our daily lives, and that's this, the Spirit of God has come to rest on you, on you as the believer, and you see this all the time in the Old Testament, you see first with Moses in the burning bush, the fire sits on the bush but does not consume it, and it's the very presence of God talking to Moses, you see it with the pillar of fire in the Old Testament, the fire is leading and guiding the people of Israel as they're journeying through the desert, you see it in Mount Sinai, when God's presence comes to Moses, and there is wind and fire, and then Moses walks down with the Ten Commandments, you see it in the tabernacle and temple, right, in the Old Testament, the very presence of God was marked because of a flame and a fire that was there, there was altar sacrifice where the fire would come down and consume, here's the pattern, let me show you this,

in the Old Testament, the fire is always on an object, in the New Testament, the fire dwells on the individual, another way to say it, this, and again, cognitively, I want you to understand this so that you can practically begin to walk it out, in the Old Testament, God's presence was with His people, in the New Testament, God's presence is in His people, and Pentecost is the moment that that becomes a lived reality, so we see, let's just pause, we see that there is wind which brings life, and then there is fire which brings the very presence, it's a mark of the presence of God, God was here and lives here and inhabits this place, and the third thing we see in Acts chapter 2 verse 4 is this, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance, let me pause here and go, if you were waiting for me to get to the speaking in tongues part, you're gonna have to wait a little bit longer, we're gonna talk about that, certainly, I'm gonna unpack that, but this is not the speaking in tongues that you would think about, actually, what this is, is God confirming His call, He says, hey, I've called you to be witnesses to Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth, this is a miracle that God is actually confirming, I'm going to send you all over the world, and I'm just demonstrating that by supernaturally giving you the ability to speak in languages you don't know, okay, so this is not like, should've bought a Honda, right, you ever heard that? You ever heard the joke like that, if you ever wanna speak in tongues, just list off a bunch of Japanese and Korean car companies, should've bought a Honda, but I bought a Hyundai, right, man, you are just like, you are flowing in Jesus name, in your flesh, hey, trust me, we're gonna get to the speaking in tongues part, it's gonna be amazing, and some of you are gonna discover what it means to pray in partnership with the Spirit, and I pray in the Spirit, and it has changed my life, it's a whole different dynamic, but we're not there yet, the thing I want you to focus on right now is this, put that Acts 2-4 back up, it says, and they were all filled with the Spirit of God, okay, again, it moves from outside, okay, they're in the room, then it comes on to the inside, and then it begins to fill them from the inside out, the geometry is important, external, internal, okay, so where else do we see the Spirit fill, because let's go to the scriptures to interpret the scriptures, we see this in Exodus chapter 31, verses 1-5, I want you to really listen to this, because a lot of us, we think that the Spirit fills us to do a bunch of religious activity, some of you are so nervous about being filled with the Holy Spirit, because you think that God's gonna turn you into a street preacher in your Amazon warehouse, and like you're supposed to be packing bags, and all of a sudden you get up and you say, at the Lord, y'all need to repent? Listen, I mean, maybe, but probably not. Let's listen to Exodus 31, verse one through five.

It says, the Lord said to Moses, see, I have called him by name, Bezalel, son of Uriah, son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, listen right here, and I have filled him with the Spirit of God with ability and intelligence, with knowledge and all craftsmanship to devise artistic designs, to work in gold, silver, and bronze, in cutting stones for setting, and in carving wood to work in every craft. Let's pause there, because a lot of us, we go, what does the Spirit of God do for me? Does it just give me like, you know, spiritual highs? No, here's the crazy thing, y'all. The Spirit of God actually enables you in your everyday life to excel. So, like, we've got people in our church. Do we have any artists in our church? Do we have any craftsmen in our church? Do we have any home builders in our church? Do we have any code writers in our church? Do we have any medical professionals in our church? How many of you guys would love a little bit more intelligence in Jesus' name, right? How many of you guys would love Holy Spirit ability? Can I just tell you, like, it is the most practical thing ever. Whatever industry, whatever God has called you to do, can I tell you that the Spirit of God

can actually inhabit you and enable you to do that even on a greater level? Because what that does is it actually brings glory to God. And so, in your everyday work, right, you can literally pray, God, will you give me the ability? Will you give me the creativity? Will you give me the intelligence? It's literally like working with God in everyday things. And so, I mean, we talked to somebody in the first service. I was like, what do you do? He was like, I build cabinetry. And I was like, in Jesus' name, the most creative cabinetry in the world. Some of you guys are designers. Some of you guys are innovators. Some of you, you are songwriters. Some of you will create business. Some of you will write incredible apps or codes on apps. Like, you will do great things in your life. And the Holy Spirit is actually saying, I can help you with that. Like, I don't know about you, but suddenly it's like, oh my gosh, can I tell you that every week I ask the Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, will you help me communicate your truths? Because I alone, like, I'll mess up. I have the massive tendency when I'm just on my own to where sometimes you've ever had this experience where your brain works faster than your mouth. I have that problem where I'll be thinking

and then I'll start stumbling over my words because my brain works faster than my mouth and I don't articulate very well. And I ask the Lord, God, I can't do this. Will you help me? Can I tell you, the Holy Spirit can help you in everyday life. He helps you be better at life. So let's review again. Let me review and then I'll tell you. The breath of God breathes life into us. And some of you, you're just going through everyday existence and it's mundane and it's miserable, but you keep going because you don't know what else to do. Can I tell you, the Spirit of God wants to breathe abundant Zoe life into you. Next, you carry the very presence of God with you. If you are a believer, the Spirit of God works with you and is in you and dwells with you. But many of us, we don't even talk to Him like He's really there. Like have a conversation. I want you this week to trust in the Scriptures and just for a week, and even if you think it's phooey and whatever, I don't believe this and it sounds so anti-intellectual, just have a conversation with the, like talk to the Holy Spirit like He's a passenger in your car.

Because the Scripture has been clear. If you are a believer, on a New Testament believer, when the Spirit of God takes residence in your life, He is there and He is resting, He is not moving on. He is with you tomorrow when the alarm goes off. So this week, talk to the Holy Spirit. Talk to Him about everything. Talk to Him about your payroll you gotta make. Talk to Him about your bills you've got coming up. Talk to Him about the stress you have, mama's with end of school year and why every school district disguised to put everything on the last week of school and you're like overwhelmed and busy. Can I say, talk to Him about your marriage. God, we've had a fight last night, help me make up so we can like make good lovin' tonight. Right, whatever it is, tell the Holy Spirit about all of it. I'm serious. Like God wants a married couple to have great sex. I don't know how this got on that, but this wasn't my point. I guess my thing is like just talk to Him about everything, like He's really there. Everything, everything, right, whatever it is. and then trust the Holy Spirit to animate your life. And let me just pause here. I see so many believers, me included in my life, where we white knuckle, we white knuckle our walk with Jesus.

I want you to see this. It's in Philippians. Guys, pull that Philippians scripture up. Philippians 2.13. It says, for it is God who works in you both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Pause this. All of humanity's story when it comes to the divine is the divine moving towards humanity. Listen, y'all. Humanity does not move towards the divine. God moves towards humanity and then awakens a desire for the things of the Lord. God wanted to be close to humanity, so what did he do? He sent his son to you. He rescued you. He told you about abundant life. He told you about the path to life. And if you think metaphysically that this is all our existence is, is this fleshly body, and then when we're 85, we will cease to exist, you are missing out on a completely transcendent part of life. And that is this, that we will have a spiritual and a heavenly body experience with the Lord. This is not the end of reality. But God moves towards humanity because he doesn't want to just have a relationship with you for 85 years.

He wants to have a relationship with you for eternity, and there is literally no other person like you. You have perfectly unique genetic code, a perfect personality, perfect gifting, and God wants to enjoy that relationship with you forever. Okay, so it's God moving towards humanity in the form of Jesus, and then he sends the Spirit. Again, it's God moving towards humanity because he knows that you cannot live a Christ-like life on your own. Look at the Old Testament. The Old Testament is all about law. Follow the law, follow the law, follow the law. And then over and over again in the Old Testament, it continually says, and they departed from the ways of the Lord, and they departed from the ways of the Lord. Come on, some of y'all this week in traffic, you departed from the ways of the Lord, right? Come on, in your life, have there ever been moments, in my 20s, I departed from the ways of the Lord, right? Amen. When it comes to Instagram, I depart from the ways of the Lord. This Christian life is not just about you white-knuckling. Go back up to Philippians 2.13. It says this, right? It says, for it is God who works in you, both to will, that speaks to desire.

Some of you, you're being obedient to the Lord, but you don't want to. You're doing it because you have to, and you feel like this obligation, right? So like, I don't wanna forgive, but Jesus tells me I have to forgive, so. I mean, how many of you guys know that when you forgive somebody, when you don't really want to, and it's just lip service? How many of you guys know that's the worst experience ever? So like, God told me I have to forgive you. I wish he would smite you, but I have to do that. God told me I have to be generous. God told me I have to be obedient. Can I tell you that you can arrive at a place in your spiritual walk with the Lord where he will literally begin to change the desires? And some of you, you don't want those desires changed because you like your own fleshly desires. But it says the Spirit of God works in you, which means this, I participate with what the Lord is doing in me. Can I tell you how you participate with the work of the Lord in your life? Let me just tell you, it's really one word. I know nobody really likes it in our modern society, and that's this, obedience. If we will just obey what the Lord says, that actually creates room for the Spirit of God

to work in us, both to will and to work, throw that up again, for what? His good pleasure. This is the Spirit of God. You see, no other religion in the world has this distinction, no other one. Hinduism, the soul is God. It's monism, and it's a little different. Islam says God is near, but not indwelling. Indwelling would actually be a shirk. It would be like a heresy in Islam. Judaism says that the Shekinah, the glory of God, dwells with people, but not in each person. The distinction of Christianity is this, a transcendent God who, while remaining God, takes a permanent residence inside human beings while preserving who they are. And when we understand that, Christianity doesn't become a ladder you're trying to climb in your own strength. It becomes a journey with the Lord, where the Lord cultivates the fruit of the Spirit in our life. Christianity is not, be more peaceful, be more joyful, be more gentle, be more kind. It is, Holy Spirit, will you cause the fruit of the Spirit to flourish in my life so that I become a more kind person, a more gentle person, a more peaceful person. Why? The Spirit of God works in me. And listen to me, what was rare in the Old Testament is normal in the New Testament. This is why the New Testament church was so dynamic. This is why they were moving and shaking and operating and living and breathing. And they had a whole new reality to life. And then when they went into Roman towns and they were talking about life and life abundant, and they were actually really happy, joyful people, even though they were persecuted, the Romans took notice and like, what is it that they have that we don't have? We're literally feeding them to lions. We're literally killing them.

But yet they're still happy and joyful. How is that happening? It's because of the Spirit of God. Read Romans 8 if you want to know more about the Spirit. And this is often the missing link that many believers possess in their life. They are not living a Spirit-led life. So I pray that this morning cultivates a hunger for you. Maybe you're in the perplexed category. I don't quite understand it. It's kind of confusing to me what's going on. Okay, don't give up. Lean in. Maybe you're at the place of amazement, right? Where you're like, oh, wait, is this really what life could be? Like, I'm a welder. Great. God wants to give you incredible intelligence and creativity to weld the coolest welds ever. Maybe God will give you a new way of welding. I don't know. Maybe you're a nurse and God's saying, help me. Great. I mean, God wants to animate that nursehood. But more than anything, I think what God is trying to show us today is this. His presence is in the life of a believer with you, walking with you. Tomorrow morning, He's going to be there. This afternoon, He's going to be there cultivating and bringing to life what the Spirit wants to do in your life. We're going to close. I got two closers. One for moms. And let's do the moms first. Hey, I'm not a mom, obviously. But I'm up close to one. And I want to speak to the overwhelmed moms right now. I don't want to be too generic. Listen, I love all moms, but you got to just let me minister to some overwhelmed moms right now. You've been on my heart all week. Obviously, I know it's Mother's Day, but some of you, you have been praying for the miracle that was a child. And now you have the child and the child is overwhelming you. And you're so overwhelmed that you're not actually experiencing joy in your motherhood because it feels too much. And you feel like you're failing.

You feel like at the end of the day, you're not the mom you want to be. And you've got mom guilt and you turn the computer off or you finish work and you're so tapped. And here's, listen to me, some of you, you feel like you're giving your kids your leftovers. They may not experience it that way, but you feel it internally. And so moms, I want to help you really quick here. Can I tell you that the Holy Spirit can actually help you in your motherhood? Holy Spirit can animate you, can bring joy, can give you strength, can give you peace. The Holy Spirit can help you develop a good chore calendar to mobilize your kids. The Holy Spirit can help you get your meals placed and ready. I mean, I'm talking simple things, y'all, don't overcomplicate it. Can I tell you the Holy Spirit can be so good to you that you don't need box wine at 6 p.m. to get through the evening? Oh, come on, don't play, you know. You don't have to catch a wave for the evening, but the Holy Spirit wants to breathe life into you. And just for a second, moms, if you're in the room and you're overwhelmed, you're overstretched and you need the Spirit and presence of God, will you do something really brave and bold right now? Will you just put your hands up, because I just want to pray over you and just ask the Lord, yeah, come on, come on, church. Can we celebrate every mother just saying, Holy Spirit, I need you? Yeah. Okay. Okay, so here's what we're going to do. If you raised your hand, you just let me know. Now I want you to turn your hands into a reception, right? Like, this is Holy Spirit, breathe on me. I know it feels weird to take up this posture, but we're taking up the posture. Hands open. Father, it comes from heaven, doesn't come horizontally. Father, you see every mother. God, I don't know the challenges of what they're walking through in their life of being a mother, but Father, you do.

And Lord, I would pray just right now that they would begin to feel the very presence of God fill them. Father, like a muddy rushing wind, Father, can they, will you just breathe on them right now? That they would feel your presence, that they would have a strength for tomorrow. Oh, Lord, I pray that when it gets overwhelming tomorrow or Wednesday or Thursday or whenever it is, Father, I pray that they would recognize that the Spirit of God is with them in the pickup line, that the Spirit of God is with them in the kitchen. The Spirit of God is with them in the laundry room when the laundry's seven loads deep and they have no idea how they're gonna get it done. God, I pray that the Spirit of God is with them when there's a blowout in the most inopportune time and it just is the camel or the straw that breaks the camel's back. Father, I pray over these mothers that, God, they would feel the very presence of God today. In Jesus' name we pray. Everybody said amen. Come on, love you moms.
