so glad to have you join us we are one church in multiple locations super excited to have people with us wherever you're at we believe God wants to minister to you and we are in the middle of a series called of God where we are taking a look at all the different aspects of who God is and we've been encouraged who he is and we'll continue that today through our our good friend Pastor Chet who is from Elevation Church on the executive team there. He's been serving for quite a while now and we are grateful to have you in the house. He has his lovely bride here, Whitney. They got two boys and I know you're gonna tell a little bit about your family but man we're just so grateful to have you here and the Word God put on your heart. And Getty Church fam, could you do a Getty welcome to our friend Pastor Chet as he comes and shares the Word. Alright that's good for me but can we just stand back on our feet and take 30 more seconds just to thank God for his presence. Can we just stand and just tell him thank you. Let's worship our God. Just tell him thank you. I'm honored to be here but the King is here. I'm honored to be in the room but can we give God his glory? Can we give God his worship? You pushed through the rain to make it here today. Why don't you take a moment and say Jesus reigns in my life and in my family. Whose pillow was talking to you this morning saying come back to sleep? But you said I have to be in the house to give my Savior his praise, his praise, his praise. I won't keep you standing much longer. Here in a moment I just want to stand through the reading of God's Word but as gosh I'm just honored. I'm honored to be here. You guys sound amazing. Have you been taking vocal lessons? It's a beautiful, beautiful, beautiful church. Can we thank God for your pastors? Pastor Brian, Christina. I know you guys just celebrated 20 years, 20 years of God's faithfulness and I just met your pastor's daughter Kaylin. Kaylin's 23 years old and I looked at her and I said your mom and dad aren't

here and so one you're an adult now so it's a choice. Those of you got little kids you don't have a choice. You're coming, you're coming to church all right. But at 23 she made a decision to be in the house of the Lord today. That tells me everything I need to know about your pastors. That he has an adult daughter that says this is the place that I want to worship. This is the place where I want to be on a Sunday morning and if you're grateful just give God praise for your pastors. Just tell God thank you for them. And as he mentioned earlier my wife is here with me. I do have a picture of our family on the screens. You'll see it. This is a my beautiful wife Whitney. Carter next to Whitney with the glasses and Carson hugging me because he loves me. And I will say this we do not take pictures standing up anymore. They're 14 years old and when we stand next to each other you're not sure who's taller. And so from now on either I'm sitting, y'all are standing, they're sitting and I'm standing or we're all gonna be sitting but you're not gonna be in pictures looking down on me. It's not gonna happen. It's not gonna happen but honored, honored, honored to be here. Now who's excited for the word today? Who's ready to get into the scriptures? I love this this series, this idea of just diving into the names of God and I'm honored to continue in this flow. We're gonna be in Exodus chapter 17 verses 15 through 16. This is the only time that we see this name Jehovah Nissi. I'm excited to be able to dive deeper into this and see what God speaks to you today. But Exodus chapter 17 verses 15 through 16. Here's what it says. It says and Moses built an altar and called this altar, he named it Jehovah Nissi. For he said because the Lord hath sworn that the Lord would have war with Amalek from generation to generation. My God the title of this message today is A Name to Remember. A Name to Remember. Before you take your seats can I pray for you? Jesus we love you. We thank you. You're a good God. You're a faithful God. God we're here for one reason and that's to to meet with you. And so God I pray that as I preach every word that comes out of my mouth that you would snatch them and you would add your power. That by the time it hits the ears of your sons and daughters their lives would be transformed. Who needs to be

encouraged would be encouraged today. God who Whoever needs strength would be strengthened today. Whoever needs to be refreshed would be refreshed. Do what only you can do today. But use me, God. Have your way. We love you, we thank you, and it's in Jesus' name I pray. Amen, amen. You can be seated, you can be seated. Can we give God praise for Engeti Music? Thank God for this worship team here. Yes. Yes. Jehovah Nisi. Just to bring you into this text, this is on the tail end of the children of Israel being attacked. The Malachite army comes and attacks them, and Moses goes on the mountainside, and he lifts up his hands while the battle is going on. I just wanna point that out. He didn't wait to lift up his hands when the battle was done. In the middle of the battle, his hands are raised. Some of you may be in the middle of a battle right now, and you're waiting to lift up your hands in worship to God. Don't wait until you see the banner get raised like the New York Knicks just did

to throw your hands up and say, God, I thank you. What about in the middle of the battle? You say, God, I worship you. In the middle of the struggle, you say, God, I need you. In the middle of that frustration, you say, God, you are worthy of praise. While the battle is going on, Moses' hands are lifted up to God. And the scripture says that while his hands are lifted, the children of Israel, their army is winning. But when his arms go down, his arms get tired, the Malachites, they begin to take control of the battle. And so, you know, in order to keep Moses' arms up, Aaron and other, they actually put stones up underneath his arms to keep his arms lifted up to God. What a beautiful picture. And Moses, at the end of this, they end up winning this battle. And Moses calls everybody together. He builds an altar. And he says, Jehovah-Nissi, that's saying, God, Yahweh, Jehovah. He says, Jehovah-Nissi, my banner. He says, he's the one that fights for us. It wasn't by military strength. It wasn't by strategy. It was an almighty God that beat the Malachites today. He pulls everybody together to let them know. And it's a beautiful name, Jehovah-Nissi. The Lord is my banner.

Now, I was thinking about how beautiful that name is. And it led me down a path of, well, like if there's beautiful names, there's some bad names too, right? There's some bad names. And he names this ark, he names this altar, I'm sorry, Jehovah-Nissi. And so it made me start to think about places that have some interesting names, if you will. And I wanna tell you a couple of these. I wanna tell you a couple of these. One, I looked up, have you heard of Boring, Oregon? This is a real city in Oregon called Boring, Oregon. Despite the name, it's not that this city is boring. It was named after a guy named William H. Boring. And the weather today, I looked it up, it's a high of 89 and a low of 51 today. And then there's this city in Colorado called No Name Colorado. No Name Colorado. There was just a spreadsheet with all of the different cities that they were naming, and they forgot to go back and name this one. It stayed that way for a couple of years, and they just decided to keep it. And so No Name Colorado is a real place. The weather is lightly cloudy with a high of 75 and a low of 49 today. And I was like, you know what? I'm coming to mission.

Is there any like weird name cities in Michigan? Has everybody heard of Hell, Michigan? He just said, I've been to Hell. I've been there, I've visited. I was like, how did it get this name? Well, according to legend, settlers came and they asked the local man, they said, what should we call it? And he said, you can call it Hell if you want to. I don't care. And they've named it Hell. That's the story, that's the story, that's the story. The weather in Hell. It's rainy today with a high of 69 and a low of 47. I thought it'd be much hotter. I thought it'd be much hotter in this place. Y'all would agree, these are horrible names. Horrible, horrible, horrible names to name a place. As I started to think about this truth, I realized that what you call a place is a name. it will determine how you experience it. The moment I say a name, it brings a feeling, an emotion, a thought, a memory. When I say, Hell, Michigan, you all start what? I didn't think it was a real place. I asked somebody last night at dinner, I said, is this a real place? They said, yeah, it's a real place. And what would it mean for you to be able to take maybe a moment to realize that you have the ability to name some things and some places in your life? And that's what really caught my attention as I was studying Exodus chapter 17, is because in Exodus chapter 17, this isn't the only battle that takes place. You see, at the end, he gives this beautiful name, you know, to this moment where he says, this altar, he says, Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my banner, the one that

fights for us. But right before this, there's another battle in the same chapter, and he doesn't do a good job of naming this place. This is Exodus chapter 17, starting at verse 3. There's a battle that comes up inside the camp, and watch what happens. It says, but the people were thirsty for water there, and they grumbled against Moses. They said, why did you bring us up out of Egypt to make us and our children and livestock die of thirst? So they're grumbling, and they're mad at Moses, like, what are we going to do? We're going to die of thirst. And what I realized is that the children of Israel, they always struggled with, like, memory loss, because just before this, they had just got delivered out of Egyptian slavery, and God split the Red Sea for them to walk through on dry ground. They saw water flow to the left and the right so that they could have a path forward. What I'm trying to just take a moment to be able to make sure you remember is that don't forget, don't forget that God is the one who controls where the water flows when you get thirsty. The children of Israel forgot. They forgot, they forgot, so they're grumbling at Moses. They're thirsty and forgot that God is the one that controls where the water flows. Like, God, for sure, for sure, if he parts the Red Sea, he could give you something to drink, for sure. But Moses hears their grumbling, and he's getting frustrated. I mean, at this point, it's almost two million children of Israel, and the leaders are the ones that are coming and bringing these complaints. And Moses, he's like, God, go to verse 4, Moses cried out to the Lord, what am I to do with these people? They are almost ready to stone me. Then it says in verse 5, the Lord answered to Moses, hey, here's what you're gonna do. Go out in front of the people, take with you some of the elders of Israel, and take in your hand the staff with you struck the Nile, and go. I will stand there before you by the rock at Horeb. Strike the rock, and the water will come out of it, and the people will have water to drink. So Moses did this in the sight of the elders of Israel, and he called that place, now listen to what he calls this place, Massa and Meribah. Because the Israelites quarreled, and because they tested the Lord, saying, is the Lord

among us or not? Massa and Meribah, that's what he calls this place. Tell your neighbor, say, that's not a good name. Massa, it means temptation, and Meribah means strife. In other words, he's saying, this is the place where the children of Israel had an attitude. This is the place where the children of Israel forgot who God was. This is the place where they were thirsty, and they forgot about the one that split the Red Sea, Massa and Meribah. This is the place. So you imagine every time they walked past that place, Moses would be like, y'all remember? Y'all didn't have your act together. Y'all was ready to stone me right here. Y'all was ready to stone me right here. I'm just thinking, that's just not Moses. You did such a good job naming the altar when you dedicated it and said, Jehovah Nissi, the Lord is my banner. But how do you go and you start with this place of saying, Massa, Meribah, and you just have this horrible name? That's what we remember? If I would have talked to Moses, I said, can we try again? Can we name it differently? What if you focused on what God did? Remember, he striked the rock and water came out. But what if you called it sor, which means rock, mayim, which means water. What if you called it rock water? And every time you came by, you would remember, that's the place where water flowed from a rock. That's the place where God provided for our thirst. That's the place, that's the place. But now, just like hell, Michigan, I don't want to go. I don't want to go. I don't want to, I don't want to visit. I don't, I don't, I don't want to go there. I, I will not have a layover there. Like, no, like redirect my flight. That's not where I'm trying to go. Oh, so today my goal is, is that I jog your memory and you would be able to start to, to name some things differently, that you would give it a name to remember, that you would remember what God did. And I'm telling you today, maybe I'm sitting in a room and, and, uh, I know we have people at other, other locations that, that you're going through something or been through some things that are very difficult. And when you think about it, all you think about is the pain, the difficulty, the struggle, and somehow the enemy has robbed you of remembering how he showed up in that process. Or maybe I'm standing in the room and you've got some trophies, some, you know, you've got some successes. Maybe you walked in today.

It's the best season. You just got promoted and it came with a signing bonus. I, I, I'm just saying you came in, you feeling good, but maybe, maybe, maybe the way that you named that you, you don't, it didn't have a good name. So we need to give it a name to remember. This, this, this really made me start to think about Genesis because something interesting happens in creation. You see, uh, God calls, calls Adam and he brings all of the animals in front of him. I want to, I want to show you this. This is Genesis chapter two, verses 19 and 20. Watch this. It says, now the Lord God had formed out of the ground, all of the wild animals in, in all of the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them. And whatever the man called each living creature, that was his name. So the man gave names to all of the livestock and the birds of the sky and all of the wild animals. I love it. It says that he brought them in front of him to see what he would call them. You know, there's, there's always these arguments of like, Hey, there's no way that Adam could have named all of the different species, the birds of the air and the creatures that walk the ground. There's no way he could have named them all. You know, there's no way, there's no way to, and here's what theologians say. It wasn't necessarily about the fact that he named all of these animals. It was about God was trying to show that part of our part to play in creation was naming things. I've heard it said this way that we are, we are naming machines. We give meaning to things that were named or called to call something. It means summon. So when you call something or you, you name it, you're actually summing it, summoning it out of it. And so, uh, let me give you a practical example. You ever come up to anybody and be like, Hey, um, how did, you know, you got a couple that's about to get engaged and they're like, yo, how is marriage? How is it? And usually the first thing people will say is marriage is hard, but marriage is hard. And I'm like, okay, I understand marriage has hard things. But when you say just marriage is hard, like a broad brushstroke, you're summoning hard things. What have you said? You know what? Marriage is beautiful. You know, there's some upstrokes, there's some downstrokes, there's some squiggles and some twists and turns. But when I step back, I see how beautiful this masterpiece is that God is putting together. Uh, it's just how you name it, how you name it matters because what you call it will determine how you experience it. I don't know if I have some college students in the room and maybe you've walked away from God and you've dabbled into some things and tried some things. And maybe when you look back on it, all you think about is the mistakes that you made and the shame that you

feel. And when you look at it, you're just like, Hey, no, that was the season that I was outside and partying. What have you said? No, no, that was the season God protected me. He protected me. I shouldn't be here today. I should have been in that car accident, but somehow some way I made it home. You see what I'm saying? Like it's a shift in perspective. How you name it will determine how you experience it. You, you can't, you can't change what happened, but you can choose what you call it. This is, this is faith talk right here. This is, this is, this is, this is teaching you how to use kingdom language. You see, I don't want culture to rob you of what God's trying to do in your future. What God's trying to redeem in your past. So today I want to teach you for a moment how we could process this, how we could redeem, can name some things in our lives. And we can see it right in the text of what Moses did when he named this altar Jehovanisi. First thing, if you're taking notes, is this a note-taking church? Reason I'm asking is because how you feel in the room doesn't determine how good this message is. How good this message is, is determine what you do with it when you leave. Because Monday and Tuesday and Wednesday and Thursday, you're not going to be in a space where in Getty worship is ushering in the presence of God. And you're going to have to have a moment to pause and name some things in your life so you can have faith to be able to help you go through. And so here's the first thing, a name to remember, who he is. So first thing I want you to write down, who he is. You see, when Moses names this place Jehovanisi, he starts with God. He starts with Yahweh. He starts with, this is the one that was never created, but created everything. It is the I am that I am, the breath of life, the alpha and omega, the beginning of the end. He says, Jehovah, Yahweh. He starts with God. He's trying to zoom out and show you a picture of how big your God is. And when you get a picture of how big your God is, the problems that you have start to get smaller. This is why it's important for you to be able to zoom out and get a picture. Start with God. Remember who God is. Remember how mighty he is. Remember his character. Remember that God loves you. Remember that he's kind. Remember that he's the God. I love it. He says, he'll be at war with Amalek from generation to generation. Who attacks you, God is one that's at war with it. So he's trying to show you, let's start with God. Let's get a picture of who he is. They weren't against the, it was like, who are the Amalekites to an almighty God? I don't know what you walked in with, what battle you have. Maybe you got a diagnosis this week. We have to remember for a moment. Yes, it's scary, but we have to zoom out and say, let's compare

this situation to my savior. Let's compare this problem with the one that has all power. Let's zoom out for a moment. He starts with Jehovah, Yahweh, Jehovah-Nissi. The Lord is my banner. I was thinking about how the Knicks just won last night. Anybody stayed up and watched the game? Anybody stayed up, watched the game? You did? A few people, a few people. I guess there's no New Yorkers in the room because New Yorkers are going crazy right now. They've lost their mind. Let's pray for the city of New York right now that they don't tear up this city. Okay. They're going to be so excited to raise up this banner, to raise up this banner when the season starts this fall. But there's two teams in the NBA that have so many championships that no longer do they raise up Western Conference or Eastern Conference banners. They only raise up the world championship banners. I'm talking about the Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The Boston Celtics, they've won 18 championships. The Lakers, they've won 17. If they go to the Western Conference finals and win, but don't win the championship, they don't put up a Western Conference finals banner because they didn't get the job done. They've won so much that they only put up the banners where they've won it all. What I'm trying to just do for a moment, imagine if you were walking in an arena that God had banners from every battle in your life, from every battle in your life. He's never lost the battle. He's won time and time again. I'm talking about Yahweh. I'm talking about God from generation to generation. He's won time and time again. There's victory after victory. There's no time that he's lost a battle. I'm talking about God. Is there anybody that thinks God that he's a big God, that he's a mighty God, that he's bigger? If he's that big, can we magnify him? Oh, magnify the name of the Lord. We're just trying to take a moment in these seasons of our lives to get a picture of who God is. Who is he? First, you remember who he is, but after you remember who he is, you remember what he did. You remember who he is. You remember what he did. Remember what he did. I love it. I love it in this text. Remember we got this picture the Malachites they come and they attack them and Then and then he goes up and his arms are lifted. He's praying to God. He's worshiping God and while hands are lifted The children of Israel they win this battle But I said what he did Joshua has a sword and he's on the battle lines and Moses is giving orders to the army But but I'm slowing down enough for you to be honest like what he did

What he did the problem with Massa Meribah the problem with that is that he started with what they did He said this is the place where y'all strife and in you court is God with us. This is the place He started with what they did Yeah Well what I'm trying to slow down enough right now for you to understand is you need to you need to remember what he did You need to remember that before what you did or what they did If some people walk in and you know pride has taken over because you think your success was predicated on your strength If It wasn't for God's grace in his mercy if it wasn't for his hand that was on your life This is an acknowledgement. There is no good thing that I have that did not come from God Do not walk through this life and have your chest poked out like you're the one that did it No, no, no Moses said no. This is the place where God had victory. This is the place where he showed up This is the place where he showed out Now on the other hand, maybe you're carrying shame All you can think about what is what you did the mistakes you made your shortcomings the divorce it It's become your identity Because you're only thinking about what what you did You see I love that Jehovah Nisi reminds me this banner reminds me of what he he did And so no matter the the shame that I'm carrying of the mistakes that I've made I can stop for a moment say what did He do he died for me. Hallelujah. Thank you. Jesus He bled for me, but we just took communion today to remember what what he did What he did I'm not saying that you didn't do it I'm just saying you can choose what you call it and you have to remember What he did a name to remember what he did The last thing is is a name to remember how he did it So not only do we need a name to remember who he is What he did but also how how he did it

You see when we look at this picture in this battle You know God God is a creative God you know and he could he could do it any way that he wants to But anyway that he wants to anyway that he wants to he can move he could shift he could fight the battle But I love this God wants to do it in partnership with you he didn't exclude Moses in the army out of this process of him bringing their their victory and And I think this is important for you to understand today. Is that how he does it? involves you You know, you heard people say Jesus take the wheel I Don't subscribe to that. I think that's the way to crash I I think Jesus says keep your hands on the wheel, but listen to my voice and I'll tell you where to steer I'll tell you where to go. This isn't a life. This isn't a life that we just throw up our hands Now again, the Malachites are attacking them are attacking them They have to do what God says God says go fight God says go after it They have a sword in their hand. They're fighting the battle and And I wonder I wonder what God is inviting you into today What step he's calling you to take to to be a part of this thing some of you you're struggling right now Maybe maybe you're struggling with the secret addiction or or maybe you're struggling in your marriage And and this is a church that has small groups. This is a church that has spaces They have so many resources for you, but you walk into church and walk right out and never participate never take us take a step You see can we thank God for every single servant leader that's volunteering on a Sunday morning Can we thank God especially the kids volunteers? Can we thank God for the kids volunteers? They're taking care of your kids like You know how crazy your kid you I'm not saying you're your kids are you know, you know, you know, you know But they're they're Anticipating There they're participating Those of you that faithfully give here at in Getty Church. Thank you for your generosity Thank you for your obedience when people give their lives to Christ you're participating in the miracles of God When you invite somebody to church when you tell somebody about what God's doing you're in you're participating

You're creating space for God to move and work with you He can do it any way that he wants, but how he does it involves you As I was processing this this message today I was thinking about probably one of the most difficult battles that I walked through and And I realized every time that I talked about it. I always would say this was the hardest season of my life That's how I would start. I start the car. I preached it that way Let me tell you about probably the hardest season of my life and as I was studying this and and reading this I'm not lying I'm not lying when I say that this was about the hardest thing that I walked. I'm not lying But when God showed me that I have the ability to name it I started to realize I had authority on how I would experience this thing how God could redeem it How God could walk through it and so there's about five years ago now My mother was walking across the street was in a horrible car accident a car didn't see her and ran right into her My mother's been in a coma ever since I have um, I Cried more tears than I could ever cry trying to make sense of this. It was senseless There was no drugs or alcohol involved in this accident. I could not understand how something like this could happen It challenged every part and particle of my faith to reconcile how I saw God and how I would walk with him This is a battle. I was we were attacked. It doesn't I didn't know what to do with this And every time I would remember this I would think about how difficult how hard it was But as I as I read this I was like the Amalekites. They they attacked the children of Israel. They were attacked They were people that were lost in this battle But how we're going to remember it is Jehovah Nisi The Lord is my batter. He's the one that fights for me. And so I started to process. I was like Well, let me think again about how this season went That was the season where where God kept me There was a season where I received the supernatural piece a piece that surpassed all understanding That was a season where God provided in ways that only he can for me and my family That was a season where he redeemed and restored some things that I didn't even know he could I thought they were dead and done

That was a season where where I saw I saw him renew a childlike faith in me Because I was on my knees saying I need you I was humbled and I desperately needed my heavenly father That was a season where he revealed himself as father to me Where I felt him capture and catch my tears. That was a season where I Got to call called my Savior something different Because remember what you call it determines how you experience it I I got to experience God as a father. I Got to experience the Holy Spirit as a comforter Today I Don't I don't know what you're walking through But today I want to encourage you and give you the faith to recognize that God has given you the ability to call it to name it To summon some things out of it The Children of Israel they kept forgetting They kept forgetting Jehovah They kept forgetting Yahweh. They kept forgetting the one that could save We're thirsty He's like you just forgot that I control the water I'm hungry Forgot I'm the one that fed you with manna from the sky. They forgot they forgot they forgot and Here's what really blessed me. Here's what really blessed me is because I realized that you know my my faith If it was just predicated on my memory Yeah, I mean I've met so many new people today and I'm trying my best I'm fighting for my life trying to remember their names I Had to write Kalen's name down Yeah, I Mean my name my memory a name to remember like I struggle sometimes to remember everybody's name. I got to practice it I got to say it over and over and over again

Why am I why am I telling you this everybody stand and I'm gonna use a quick story to close everybody stand I'm about to land the plane stay with me This isn't time to grab your purse or anything like that stay with me. God is still ministering I started to think about my name. My name is, you know, everybody calls me Chet, but my full name is Chetwin, C-H-E-T-W-Y-N, Chetwin. Tell Chet to win. That's how you remember, that's how you remember, that's how you remember. It's a family name. I'm named after my grandfather. Everybody in my immediate family's name starts with a K. Like my dad's name is Kelly, my mother's name is Kimberly, there's Kelly Jr., there's Candace, there's Kendall, and I have a baby sister named Kaylin. Everybody in my family's name starts with a K except for mine. Well, when I was about to, you know, be born, my mom was pregnant with me and my grandfather, my mom's dad, he had a heart attack. And they didn't know how long he was going to live. And my name was supposed to be Christopher with a K. That's my middle name. They're at the hospital and they're afraid about my grandfather, not knowing what's going to happen with him. But yet I'm about to be born and I believe that God just gave this, dropped this on my mother's spirit and she just said, I'm going to name him after my dad. Let's name him, let's name him Chetwin. Why am I saying this? Well, my grandfather was a pastor in Chicago, Illinois. He started a church called Chetwin Rogers Faith Memorial Church of God in Christ in Chicago, Illinois, on the west side of Chicago. My grandfather was a man that did a lot for the community. So much so that on the street where the church was founded, they named the street after my

grandfather. You imagine as a kid, I used to go and I tell my friends like, that's my street. I was like, that's my street. That's my street. Cause my name was, my name was on it. He was a man of God, a pillar in the community, preached God, preached the gospel, led so many people to Christ. And my mother, my mother in the hospital room about to give me, bring, bring, like give birth to me. And she, she says, you know what? I think what I name him matters. Chetwin Rogers is a great name, great name, a great name, but there's so much going on. And I want to remember what my father stood for. I want to remember the work that God did through my dad. I want to remember the impact in the community. We're going to name him Chetwin. I believe that that moment was a proclamation of the man that I would become. That no matter how hard I fought or tried to get away from it, that it was set in motion from the time I was born, that God wanted to use me in a powerful way. I am standing on the back of so many men and women of faith. And my mom said that, no, no, that's what his name is going to be. Because what I call him, I'm summoning some things out of him. Why am I taking time to talk about my name? Well, we know who Jesus is. We know his power and authority, but here's the thing. If our faith is predicated on our memory, we struggle. You're going to go through this whole series, you might not miss a week, but you're not going to remember all of Jehovah's, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi, you're going to be like, hey, I need something to remember this by. But then this dropped in my spirit and I wanted to give you this today.

Because my faith isn't predicated on my memory, but it's predicated on his. Look at this verse, Isaiah chapter 43, you'll see it right here on the screens. Verse one, these ancient words just ministered to me. It says, but now this is what the Lord says. He who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel. Watch this. Do not fear for I have redeemed you. I have summoned you by name. What I'm trying to say is, is that our faith isn't built on just us being able to remember his name, but he remembers your name. He knows who you are. Even though you forgot about him, he never forgets you. Never forget you. He knows you. I might forget your name, but you got a name that our savior remembers. You got a name that he calls and beckons and summons you to him. So today is a reminder for us to maybe rename some things. But today's also a day to remember that he'll never forget your name. I don't know if there's somebody in the room that you're like, my life doesn't matter. My name isn't on the screen. Nobody's going to, no, no, no, no, no. The king of king, the hope of glory calls you by name. And maybe he's calling someone right now. All he's asking you to do is to say yes, God. It's it whoever calls on the name of Jesus will be saved Today's a day where you could call on them and today's a day that you can accept them as your personal Lord and Savior Bible says whoever believes in their heart that Jesus is the Son of God and Confesses with their mouth that God raised him from the dead will be saved Maybe you walked in today and you've been trying to be a good person You've been trying to check off all the boxes But today is a day that he's just saying, you know, all you need to do you need to call on the name of Jesus

Everybody bow your head close your eyes I'm gonna lead you in a prayer prayer of salvation prayer of surrender For the benefit of those that are coming to God some in this room. You're coming for the first time And some of you in this room, this is your moment to come back home Because of the battle that you face you walked away from God, but God is summoning you he's calling you by name come back to me So we're gonna say a prayer this It's a prayer of salvation prayer of surrender for the benefit of those that are coming to God and those coming back to him But we're all gonna say this together No one's saying it alone Everyone repeat after me say I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and That he died on the cross And rose from the grave to forgive me of my sins So I give you my sins. I Give you my shame and from this day forward I'll follow you This is my new beginning. I am a child of God With all heads bowed and all eyes closed if you just said that prayer you meant it Making a decision to put your faith in Jesus or your coming back to him I'm gonna count to three and when I get to three I want you to shoot your hand up boldly so we can celebrate this moment with you Here we go. One, two, three, shoot your hand up if you're making that decision today I see hands all over the room. Can we lift up the biggest shout of praise? That's a golf clap the angels are rejoicing in heaven Give God glory Shout hallelujah
