Mothers: A Reflection of God's Love - Point 3

So I feel like my children are the most beautiful children in the entire world, right? How many moms think their kids are the most beautiful children in the world? Right? There's a bunch of us. So God must give us this filter to look through because we all cannot have the most beautiful children in the world, right? It doesn't work that way. But I have this one little girl and I can just remember her first day of school. She was so beautiful and we put on this new dress and I did her hair and we took all these pictures of her with her backpack walking into school for the first time. When I picked her up, she didn't quite look the same, right? Okay, you can imagine. Her hair had fallen out. She'd ripped her new dress and she was a mess. Do you think that I saw her as any less beautiful? No, because she's my precious child no matter how she looks, right? And God feels that way about his children too, right? Sometimes our lives are a mess. Sometimes we start off well and end up with dirt all over our faces. But I took my daughter inside and I gently wiped her clean and God wants to do that with you too. God sees beauty from the inside. He sees potential. He sees what we cannot see in ourselves. Okay, there was a woman in the Bible. Her name was Rahab and Rahab was a prostitute. She'd made a mess out of her life. But God loved her and he knew her value and it didn't matter what she looked like on the outside. God cleaned her up and he showed her her worth and she went on to became the mother of Boaz, who was the father of Obed, who was the father of Jesse, who was the father of David, King David. And through King David, we have the lineage to Jesus Christ, right? So God took a prostitute. God took a woman whose body was used.

God took a woman who was abused, a woman who was called dirty and through her gave us the bloodline to Jesus Christ. God did not see Rahab the way that we would have seen her. He wiped her clean and called her beautiful. First Peter 3 says don't be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You should clothe yourself instead with the beauty that comes from within. So this verse shows us how God views beauty. It's what's on the inside that matters. When you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ comes to live on the inside of you and this is really cool. King David, I want you to hear how King David describes God in Psalm 27. This is what King David wrote. He said, one thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek, that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and seek him in his temple. So David is telling us that God is beautiful. So if God is beautiful and you've accepted Jesus Christ and God comes to live inside of you, that means you are beautiful. Right? You are beautiful. Have you ever noticed how new mothers or expectant mothers, they just have this glow about them and everyone can see it, right? As believers, we should radiate that beauty as well. And this can be done by recognizing where our beauty comes from. I love in Psalm 139, 14, it says, I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are your works that my soul knows very well.
