We are a different people for this very reason We're able to worship the way that we do because we know what God has done in our lives If you are not aware what God has done in your life just yet give us some time give God some time We serve a mighty God His arm has no limit to the reach he can grab anyone anywhere in any place Man I'm fired up The past two times I was really nervous this time. I'm not so nervous You guys can be seated Well Good morning everyone What an honor to be here with y'all this morning My name is Fabian Miranda. That you encounter the presence of God In a way that you need to You've already gone through a lot My prayer is that he strengthens you whenever you feel weary That whenever you feel burdened by the heaviness of the outcome that you're going through. I Pray that you encounter his presence in a in a way that you never felt it before and know that we are loving you The God that we serve is into redeeming people And no one not even you behind those bars it's too far gone for his hand to reach you and save you How's everybody doing Well Let's get this party going You guys know that we are going through. This is our third week of our series seeds How many of you guys are enjoying that so far? and It's speaking it's speaking to everyone So if you're not if you're not in a group or you first time We invite you to even join a group no matter how late you are in you can still join a group, right? I got the okay from my wife So tomorrow starts today As we talked about we are on week three and today I will be speaking to you about momentum Man Momentum is such an amazing thing that was I wasn't too much aware of it other than you know It's motion, right, but I want to take some time to really unpack What the unstoppable force of the seed is? The seed of God's Word has unmatched divine momentum Let's look at Jesus's own words in the gospel of Mark So if you have your Bibles turn with me to Mark chapter 4 and we're gonna read verse 26 and 27 But I'll also bring in later on the other two verses as I go So he also said this I'm sorry

So he also said this is what the kingdom of God is like a man scatters seed on the ground Night and day whether he sleeps or he gets up The seed sprouts and grows though. He does not know how Let's pray Heavenly Father we thank you Lord We thank you for this beautiful morning. We thank you Lord for the worship that has already hoist your presence into this place Lord Father I surrender my will to your will for your will is way better than my will Lord I ask that you infill me with your spirit that you take full control Of every movement that I do every word that I speak father. God. I give you permission over my entire body I am yours father God and Lord I pray that every heart that is in here May they receive this very seed that you are about to plant in their hearts father God may it bring revelation and in due time the transformation that your people is seeking Lord we worship you. We honor you and it's in your mighty name. Amen. I like that. Amen Did you guys catch that how Jesus introduces the kingdom of God He doesn't compare it to a military takeover Or a sudden political election or an instant result as we were typically used to But rather he compares it to the seed dropped in the dirt a seed that has Tremendous momentum if we remain faithful to it that seed will eventually produce What we're looking for Physicists define momentum as mass in motion My kids will probably say that I'm a mass in motion Especially after eating dessert But let me paint you a picture not the one that I just told you of what this actually looks like Imagine a massive 100-ton freight train sitting dead still on the tracks Because it has no momentum You can take a single for two by four a small piece of wood and wedge it on one of the wheels The engineer can sit there and hit the throttle and that massive locomotive will not move Will not cannot a single piece of wood

Single piece of timber can stall an entire 100 ton freight train because it has zero momentum But take that same freight train get it down the tracks at 60 miles an hour engineers mechanics engineers Engineers mechanics rotor work, it's in fuel Suddenly this thing is unstoppable because it's built massive momentum If you build a solid five foot thick concrete wall across the tracks You're not gonna be able to stop it It will run right through it without even slowing down What changed? The weight didn't change Weight didn't change the engine did not change the momentum change How many of us are living our spiritual lives like that stationary train We have the power of the Holy Spirit But because we aren't moving We aren't really Relying on the available resources we have here at the church for discipleship nor fueling ourselves With the Word of God We don't serve we don't pray a Single piece of wood holds your entire spiritual life a bad comment a bad day or Simply disappointing week or a dry season like many of us go through But when you understand and live within the kingdom principle of momentum God gets you moving To a point where every obstacle every wall everything that the enemy builds in front of you Because you have so much momentum in the Holy Spirit. You'll demolish that wall. You'll run right through it That's the mystery of the seed You see the human eye

So the human eye a seed looks like it has zero momentum it is tiny it is silent You got ahead of me It is buried in the dark motionless soil If you sat there and stared at a freshly planted seed field You won't see anything Heck you might see a seed You won't see anything heck you might even think nothing is really happening But in reality underneath the surface, out of sight, a hidden power is at work. Sometimes the best things happen in the quietness moments when we either pray, we read our word, when we spend that time with the Lord. See the text says, the seed grows though he does not know how. This is how true discipleship culture works. God's momentum starts internally before it shows up externally. The world tells you that if it isn't big, loud, or even trending on social media, it isn't working. But in the kingdom of God, growth starts in the quiet hidden places of the human heart. It starts when you allow the Word of God to sit, to sit, to really sit in your soul. Change how you think, how you love, and how you live. Think about the farmer. He doesn't stay up all night digging up the dirt to see if the seed is growing. He sleeps, he wakes up, he goes about his day. How come? Because the momentum of the seed isn't dependent on the seed itself. I mean, I'm sorry, I messed it up. The momentum isn't built into the design of... Let me go back. Because the momentum of the seed isn't dependent on the farmer's anxiety. Yeah, the devil wanted me to miss that one. We gonna blame the devil on that one. I usually don't like making excuses, but that one was for sure the devil. The momentum is built into the design of the seed itself. The farmer has faith. Although he cannot see the seed, it's already planted. And as long as he waters it and keeps pests out, the harvest will come. He understands that the seed has momentum. Let me ask you a question. I know that the gospel has been planted in your heart. Hence the reason why you're here. Have you allowed the seed of the gospel in you to gain momentum? And if not, are you collecting two by fours? Or are you willing to remove them today? See, when you follow Jesus, you don't have to carry the weight of fixing yourself by tomorrow morning. That's a sobering reality. But we can build the momentum of growth through three... Growth and transformation through three non-negotiable steps. Number one, unconditional

commitment. This... A disciple prioritizes his relationship with Jesus above all other loyalties. Matthew 6 33 says, but seek first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness. And in all these things, he will be get... All these things will be given to you as well. Number two, lifelong transformation. Lifelong transformation. We don't... We don't get there just because we said yes to Jesus. It's a continual thing. We have to gain that momentum just like a flywheel. Discipleship is an ongoing process. Changing from the inside out. Boy, I know the Lord changed me. So the gospel of John speaks about this. Chapter 13 verse 35, by his... By this, everyone would know that you are my disciples if you love one another. Do you love your neighbor? I hope you do. If you don't, we need to. Number three, continue. The continuation of the mission. Disciple... A disciple of Jesus is not meant to be a permanent student. You are meant to eventually reproduce the message. Matthew chapter 28 verse 19, which is... We've... Oh man, we are running with this one. We've been doing this. Pastor Rod has embedded this in my heart so deep that this is one of my passions. It says, therefore, go and make disciples of all nations. baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit this is the Great Commission this is for everybody this is not just for me for Pastor Rod or the leaders of the house this is for every single one of you guys sitting in here the gospel has an intrinsic weight and speed it moves because God is the one driving it into our hearts the kingdom that God's kingdom loves to include his creation for collaboration just like a train needs conductors engineers mechanics and fuel to collaborate to get it moving in the same way our Lord Jesus doesn't just leave us it's isolated seeds whoever is messing with my thing you're going too fast isolated seeds he built a family he built a culture of discipleship where we play a part in each other's growth the parable continues in verse 28 all by itself the soil produces grain first is talk then the head then the full kernel in the head mark chapter 4 verse 28 see the phrase all by itself is captivating and the original Greek the length language the word was automotos don't don't kill me my pronunciation might not be on point which which is where we get no not tomatoes we get automatic this is where we get the word automatic guys the kingdom of God has a built-in progression it moves in stages first is

talk then the head then the full kernel you cannot skip the stock to get to the kernel in other words discipleship is a process is a process not an overnight event remember long before the conductor got in the train to get it moving work was put in to get it get the engine ready the tracks cleared and the engineers to calculate everything my boy Kenneth does that this is where so many of us get discouraged we give our lives to Jesus but then we still struggle with an old habit an old insecurity or a broken relationship we feel stuck we think we lost momentum but God is saying keep going keep going you are just in the stock phase the kernel is coming and if you plant yourself in this place Union Houston for enough long enough time you will see how God the ultimate or the ultimate conductor orchestrates the process through community this process through community I love 1st Corinthians chapter 3 6 & 7 especially because our house has tremendously grown and discipleship and when I read the context of this verse I found out something very profound Paul wrote this letter to the church in Corinth which it was a city much like ours ours sorry a port very ancient Greece Greek city city after Paul spread the gospel there he planted church and then he left because that was his mission to plant churches but much like today the crowd became very toxic into little clicks they started kind of gathering and huddling in corners saying no my pastor is better than your pastor my pastor preaches the word my pastor preaches what is the prosperity gospel your your preacher is always preaching about Hill and all this other stuff not realizing that what the body of Christ needs is unity so what Paul writes in this letter to them is letting them know that we're not competing with one another what we're doing is promoting the kingdom of God and they were claiming loyalties to just vague things Paul was the speaker Apollo was another speaker but he was very motivational in the way that he presented the Word of God so the scripture says I planted Paul says I planted the seed Apollos watered it but God has been making it grow so neither the one who plants nor the one who waters it's anything sit your butt down but only God only God who makes things grow I love that scripture it's sobering to me this is very biblical this is biblical discipleship culture guys we are not in this alone and we are that thing doesn't move correctly we are not in this alone and we are not competing with one another one person plants a seed of encouragement in your life another one comes around you and your connect groups and waters it with prayer this is biblical

but who is the one actually building the momentum God you got it right the three of you human hustle and self-belief says I have to make myself grow discipleship language says I am going to stay planted in community pray to the Holy Spirit and ask for a mentor while I wait while I wait while I don't get ahead of myself while I don't go choosing somebody because they look like me or I go choosing somebody because they're gonna tickle my ear they're gonna tell me all the good things I want to hear that's not discipleship that's not discipleship I'm going to let spiritually mature people water my soul and I am going to trust God for the increase hallelujah he's the only one that can do it listen these words that I'm about to share that are very very profound and it even sober me because at times as you walk with people we have the urgency and the desire for them to grow and sometimes we get ahead of ourselves and sometimes a little bit of hope and sometimes a little bit of frustration kicks in if I can be transparent because we love you guys so much we don't want anybody to suffer but when I read this I thought about this and the Lord reminded me what the purpose and the mission is of the great commission we plant God grows we pray God moves we witness God saves we obey and God transforms when I read that I was like oh my God there is power in your word some of you are looking to be noticed without discerning your spiritual immaturity I'm about to get I'm not going to be like pastor Rob but I'm going to get in your face for just a moment you ask when is my promotion coming I have been serving but I don't know if I should trust God with tithing I've been praying for my wife to change her stubborn prideful opinionated mind and trust me to lead our home while you my guy are living in secret life in your heart you lust you fornicate and you watch all kinds of things that you shouldn't be watching whatever you speak it's not going to go well because it carries no power you listen to sermons and other preachers podcasts for self-improvement and reading the births of the day as if somehow you think that you're growing spiritually wow your head is full of pride because someone told you that the Lord is going to use you mightily well news flash everyone sitting in here the Lord wants to use sometimes we fall in love with what has been spoken over us and we think so mighty of ourselves

we forget that humbleness is a attribute and something that Jesus displayed growth requires accountability plain and simple wives you pray you prophesy you speak in heavenly tongues and it's great that you want your husband to lead the family spiritually to pray and read the word of God and you're eager to see growth in him but how can you see growth when you suppress him always nagging always micromanaging and criticizing everything that he does listen we must prepare the field of our hearts and plant the actual seeds that we want to plant plant seeds of servanthood plant seeds of honor in your husband women plant seeds of love and honesty in your wife guys plant seeds of love correction and integrity and honor in your children plant seeds in your communities Matthew chapter 6 verse 6 says then your father who sees what is done in secret will reward you so you see we cannot plant mediocrity and expect to reap excellence hear me out elevation without preparation it's a platform without foundation elevation without preparation it's a platform without foundation and this type of belief ensures that the height of your fall the height of your fall will exactly match the speed of your rise so elevation without preparation is a seed in a shallow shallow soil it springs up instantly in the Sun only to wither just as fast for lack of root man help us Jesus to advance the kingdom of heaven through the Father's momentum and not continue on the tracks of double-minded modern church that seeks reward before sacrifice no shortcuts Jesus is the ultimate momentum guys when we mesh our lives into the discipleship culture confessing our sins to one another as the book of James chapter 5 verse 16 says walking in accountability serving one another we flow into the rhythm of what God is already doing we don't have to force the train to move we simply have to stay on board listen we don't have to force the unstoppable force of the harvest God embedded in the seed that's right the harvest cannot be stopped the real question is do you believe that Jesus finishes the parable in verse 29 as soon as the grain is ripe he puts the sickle to it because the harvest has come I'm looking at a room

and it's looking pretty ripe what started as a single silent seed scattered in the dirt ends with an unstoppable undeniable harvest this is the ultimate trajectory of the gospel y'all it cannot be stopped think about the early church it started with a small group of ordinary flawed people just like us praying in a room just like we are here with no money with no political influence with no power at all and the entire Roman army along with the religious leaders of the Jewish people were after them they tried to stop the train they threw the Apostles in prison they persecuted the believers and they tried to shut them up but guess what but when an object has divine momentum listen to this an obstacle doesn't stop it the obstacle just gets absorbed into the forward motion every time they tried to crush the church disciples scattered to new cities and started sharing the gospel there the persecution didn't stop them didn't stop the fire at all it's just spread the sparks and make fires in other cities because you I we must understand this very spiritually we cannot cheat the harvest we cannot what we plan today what we'll saw tomorrow Galatians 6 7 says do not be deceived God cannot be mocked a man reaps what he sows You should be inspecting your heart right now. Thinking about what you have sown. Thinking about what you sowed last night. Thinking about what you're going to sow later on. Listen, there's a story in the gospel of the fig tree recorded in Matthew 21 and Mark 11. This scripture reveals that very truth. God cannot be mocked. In the passage, Jesus is walking back towards Jerusalem after performing his last miracle. He just resurrected his friend, Lazarus. So he's filled with anticipation and momentum spiritually. He's walking towards Jerusalem because he has on his heart and on his sight the cross to come. So he's looking to fulfill the words that have been written in the Old Testament.

The words that will later on benefit us through that sacrifice. He was charged with spiritual momentum because he is closing to that very fulfillment. So he finds a fig tree, as you all know. The tree looked luscious, full of green leaves, but beneath it, barren. There was nothing in it. Imagine that. The creator of the heaven and earth comes to a tree. The hope of the world is hopelessly hungry, and there's nothing that this tree could offer to him. That's crazy. Even nature tried to do that to the creator, but it didn't prevail. There was a curse that came upon it. In that time, what Jesus, that is a reference that Jesus, what was he looking, he was looking for faith in all of Israel in that time. And there was nothing because the people look religious. The people look good on the exterior. They look like they have foliage, but no fruit. So you see, we can decorate our lives with religious colorful window dressings, but God sees past all camouflage every single time. These two scriptures reveal a powerful wake up call for us today. Flashing superficial faith inevitably will wither under the case of a God who demands authentic fruit over empty foliage. Superficially faith, superficial faith withers under the pressure, under pressure, pain and problems. It cannot take the heat of true suffering because it isn't fully surrender into the soil of God's heart. Listen, the enemy doesn't need your immediate destruction. He only needs your gradual compromise. It's like the two by fours I talked about. They are meant to stop you from moving forward.

Because compromise, this is, this is good. Compromise creates casualties. These become cycles, cycles become strongholds and strongholds disrupt the momentum of God for all future generations. In effect, we like to do this. We're all guilty of this. We end up disrupting God's momentum in our lives. Sure we blame the devil. I just did that earlier. Our past, our parents, et cetera. But we, aren't we children of the most high God? We have his word and the power of the Holy Spirit. But we tend to behave like Eve. We say the serpent made me do it. And this is how we often contribute disrupting God's momentum in our lives. By simply compromising. Let's look at the word compromise. What does it actually means? It literally means to expose a person to danger or scandal or suspicion. It is the idea of blending or giving up too much of one's standard, eventually meaning to put oneself in a vulnerable position. Well, today's culture lives in compromise. It's everywhere we look. fornication, adultery, hookup culture, emotional affairs, and lust. Lust-driven entertainment. In a world that tells you, do you boo, it's your body, you know, your choice. See, the world makes claims that it is self-care, so much so that participating in these behaviors is somehow normal. Let me tell you a reality I know very well. All fleshly pleasures this world offers carry momentum into bondage. Everything this world offers. Here are the casualties. Broken marriages, hmm, we see that a lot lately. Fatherless homes, hmm, distrust, sexual confusion, cycles of addiction, and distorted views of intimacy.

You see, the devil knows if he can corrupt sexuality, he can destabilize a family. The world mocks the church culture, and today's culture has drifted from the truth, and society tried to write off the gospel as outdated, but you cannot mock the living God. Every seed carries a consequence, and every single field eventually speaks the truth. When the world sows compromise, rebellion, and brokenness, it reaps a harvest of emptiness that creates a legacy of despair for your future generations, but when the seed of the gospel is sown, it produces a life-giving momentum that carries a divine guarantee, and if you don't know it, I'm about to tell you. Abundant life, peace that surpasses all understanding, and ultimately, the future promise of our glorified bodies in heaven. Hallelujah. I know I'm going to heaven. Are you? See, the prophet Habakkuk saw this thousands of years ago. He wrote on chapter 2, verse 14, for the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of our Lord as the waters cover the sea. Hmm, that's profound. How do the waters cover the sea? Completely irresistibly. You cannot stand on the beach and tell the incoming tide stop because it has way too much mass and momentum. That is exactly how the gospel of Jesus Christ operates. It is moving towards a day where every knee will bow. Every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. The world can mock it, but they cannot stop it. The harvest has come. So, Union Houston, the question for you today is, are you living your life on your own power, or are you catching the momentum of the kingdom? See, to the disciples, to be a disciple of Jesus, it means to stop trying to drive your own life. Surrender. You have nothing to lose. You must step off the platform of self-reliance and step into the movement of Jesus. Jesus told his disciples and us today in the book of Acts, chapter 1, verse 8, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you, you, every single one of you, including me, will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and Judea and in Samaria and to the ends of the earth. Man, that very power, let me just tell you, it's not just for Pastor Rod and Pastor Sarah. It's not just for the leaders. It's for every single person sitting in here, every single person watching online, you and that cell block, wherever you might be, that power is available to you. All you have to do is follow Jesus. And if you have already surrendered your heart to him and you have claimed him as your Lord and Savior, that power is just within your reach. Hallelujah. I got hot. Listen, in reality, this word of God carries such a such a beautiful fire in a person's

heart that is transformative. I love what Matthew 13 verse 24 and 25 says, the kingdom of God, the kingdom of heaven is like a man who sowed good seeds in the field in his field, but while everyone was sleeping, the his enemy came and so weeds among the weeds and went away. When I was nine years old, my parents gave their life to life to Christ. The seed of the gospel was planted in my heart. My parents love God, they love Jesus, but they were still dealing with a lot of their trauma, the trauma and immaturity so much so that they did what they were supposed to do. The seed was planted in me. So carrying their own wounds and trauma while God was planting a good seed in my life, sorry guys trying to catch up, this thing is acting up. At the same time, the enemy was also sowing a different seed in my life. That seed was the seed of rejection. That rejection grew into anger and resentment, insecurities and unforgiveness for two years. I'm sorry for years two seeds grew in the same field of my heart, God's purpose and the enemy's lies. By the age of 15 God water this seed. God water the seed of the gospel through a prophetic word that was spoken over my grandmother from my grandmother and my mother. Of course, I didn't believe it at first because they loved me. They just wanted to see me transform. But I took it. The Lord revealed that he had a calling of my life, but I was still living in chaos. I was wrestling with the effects of rejection. Even so, God never gave up the good seed in me that he planted over time. His grace healed me away from rejection. He removed my wounds. He replaced my bitterness with forgiveness. My confusion with purpose.

My brokenness with hope. I praise the way that I praise. I worship the way that I worship. Because if you knew my story, you will probably do the same thing. One of my favorite scriptures is when Paul says, wretched man that I am. See Paul understood this. There's something so beautiful that happens to us. Thank you, Holy Spirit. There's something so beautiful that takes place in the heart of a believer when he surrenders. Paul knew that proximity to the Lord was going to show him his sinful nature, but he didn't shy away. Many of us shy away because we're reluctant to see what we have done with our lives. We feel guilty. We feel shame. The devil uses that and pushes us away. What God is trying to show you is the same thing that Peter experienced on the boat. After Jesus made the miracle of them catching a big amount of fish, Peter fell to his knees and says, depart from me for I am a sinful man. You see what happens is that when you allow the seed of the gospel to penetrate your heart and you allow the community of people to pour into your life, there's something so beautiful that only the Holy Spirit can do, that no man, no psychiatrist, no therapist can do, but only the hand of God, only the hand of God can rescue you. I don't know where you are. I don't know what you have done. I don't know what your testimony is, but let me tell you, if the God of the harvest who is here today restore my field, he can restore your field. The enemy planted rejection, but God planted redemption. The enemy sowed wounds, but God a witness. In the end, the Lord of the harvest had the final word. So perhaps someone planted rejection in your life.

Maybe it was a parent, maybe it was a spouse, or even a friend, or church, or any other people. Circumstance you might have gone through Are you tired of carrying anger bitterness and unforgiveness? addiction shame or fear Bring it bring it bring it the prayer team is not shy don't pray over you And if God allows it through the power of the Holy Spirit those demons will leave in the name of Jesus Give yourself a chance Give yourself a chance. There is a God in this place that restores people There is a God who is here looking to plant a better seed than what you've been watering So if you allow the Holy Spirit to minister to your spirit if you get convicted in your heart because of that seed that you Have been watering. It's not the right seed come to the altar Let God meet you here. Let the Lord of the harvest plow the ground of your heart That's whole Holy Spirit that's not even in my notes So the question is Not whether a seed has been planted. The question is which seed are you going to water? Will you continue feeding the hurt the offense? the addiction the bitterness and the pain or you will surrender your life to Jesus and allow him to heal you and And take what the enemy tried to destroy Today Just like every day if you're vulnerable enough God is inviting you to stop giving momentum to the wrong seed So if you are tired of being tired If you feel like you on your last breath I Invite you What's different about me nothing just surrender I Gave my life to Christ. I Surrender my behaviors and even when it hurt. I was just telling miss Amy earlier The Lord has asked me many things that I didn't want to let go of

Has asked me to confront people that I didn't think I was able to confront to ask for forgiveness Are you in the same situation? Is there something that you would like to surrender to the Lord today? The time is now If tomorrow starts today What sees What sees are you looking to so There's a beautiful It's a beautiful scripture that my wife read the other day And it brings a lot of joy because it speaks about the goodness of God like all the Word of God does in Psalms 126 verse 5 and 6 it says Those who with tears those who sow with tears will reap with songs of joy Those who go out weeping Carrying the seed to sow will return with songs of joy carrying sheaves with them That's a beautiful promise The Lord of the harvest is here guys and I'm closing So I'm asking you if there is anyone in this room Who is wondering who doesn't know? Who the Lord of the harvest is? Let me make an invitation For you to change the narrative of your heart and allow God to plant the seed that will bring life abundantly a Life that surpasses all understanding a piece that surpasses all understanding. So with every every head bow I don't know what you're going through But You're here for a reason today And even you watching right now online The Lord has brought you to this very moment in time and space because the Lord wants to do something that only he can do So if you allow yourself just a little bit of surrender See, that's the beauty about our God
