Mail Call Podcast: Trusting in the In-Between || Victory Church

He's over all the kind of community aspects that we have here at the church And we love him. We have a chance to join us to refer and and answer some questions and thoughts that you have shared Through our mail call series and first layer We're jumping into is actually from Jose and Jose you put some really cool things in here that I appreciate you guys know We love putting our messages on there. The messages really are a victory One of the most important things that we do because it helps us really jump into Understanding God's work. We're in the book of John right now as we're filming this so you can go back and see When we went through the book of John we went through the book of Revelation some great series great letters to me guys about those as well But what I love that Jose talks about is he is very grateful for all the other kind of content that we've put out as well The devotionals with the roundtables something that he appreciated was he loved the comedy that we've put out Which I really appreciate and we've actually been talking about if we should make some more comedy videos I think I'm because I got some friends in the area that do stand up Maybe you get a chance to record some more but let us know at that's at that some stuff that you guys would like to see He also talked about how like I think the music and stuff that he's able to listen to just helps him Reframe his mind and attitude in the right way at times when The days can seem long more the days seem kind of tough And that's that's really encouraging to me because that's the whole point of why we do all this is because every single one of you Matter and we want to send you content that reminds you that you're you're important to God And he loves you and he cares for you and he is for you in this season That's something that that we that's why we do all these different types of content So we're not just highlighting the messages, but how do we put the messages into practice how we build community around it? How do we laugh? How do we worship all that stuff is there for you? But this is the first letter Jose. Thanks for thanks for writing to us Jason. We got her there. No, that was really good Thanks Jose. Um, so I got a letter from Doug Doug, thanks so much for writing Doug sent us a letter and he was specifically focusing on Pastor Mo who's our Midtown pastor did a message a few months back called living between the promise and the proof Has a great ring to it But I love that he kind of recapped that message and he talked about like literally what do you do in that in-between stage? So how does patience show up?

What part does endurance play what happens when doubt creeps in you know Maybe for you Stephen. How about like what are you? What are some things that may be helpful that you implement in your own life? When you are kind of in this in-between of kind of what you know what God said and it really showing up. Mm-hmm Yeah, I think that's that's when I have to remember What God has done before and that he's going to do it again. Yeah, you know, and that's uh I think that's the reason why several times in the Old Testament after God would do something miraculous Like when they would when they crossed the Jordan. Yeah, one of the first things he told them to do was to make Something to remember. Yeah, how he showed up for them in this moment They got all these big boulders and stacked them together and it's like when you see this Remember how I showed up for you and we need that because we forget quickly I mean I got gonna do something for you that morning Yeah, and then maybe I hit a hiccup at lunchtime and I'm like, where are you at Lord? Why is it happening like this because I we are so forgetful. Yeah, and I appreciate how we're able to see things like Consistently in the Old Testament. God knew that about us. Yeah, he knows that though We forget these kinds of things. Yeah, which is why he gives us great practices. Maybe through journaling. Yeah, maybe through writing down some things I actually have Things around my house. Yeah, then when I see them remind me how God showed up beforehand Like there's this cool little fake oil ancient lamp that they have right by my sink Well when I see it, it reminds me of something that was important to me from a couple of years ago. Yeah, that's Or even like our wedding ring. I trust me this this is meant as a reminder for us. Yeah like and as For for everyone around us that I've made a commitment yes to my spouse But I made the commitment to the Lord. Yeah, we are designed as people to put reminders all the way around. Yes Yeah, I get a little notification on my car when I'm going too fast Yeah, because I need a reminder when I try to stay in this in the speed limit So we are designed to need those kinds of things. So when we feel like God, where are you? I'm in between what I prayed for yeah, and what I'm hoping to receive Well, hopefully we have things that we've written down stuff that we can look at that we go. Okay It seems like you're fighting against me instead of helping me, but I know I know that's not your character I know that's not who you are God because I remember what you did here Yeah, and because you showed up here. I know you're gonna do something here as well. That's good, man

It reminds me my dad when I was younger my dad never adapted to technology. Well, he was the king of like sticky notes And that's great sticky notes are everywhere and here I am an adult with my own family and kids And what do I do? I have sticky notes everywhere Just as a great reminder of things that I need to remind myself that I need to be reminded of and so in between that promise and the proof, you know, Doug I would just encourage you and He even talked about just the importance of living my faith and not necessarily Giving into what you see, but trusting in God. He talked about, you know, proverbs three Trusting a guy with all your heart, but you know for me, I can be forgetful at times Sticky notes just great reminders about God's faithfulness I love how you talked about just those stones of remembrance and Just figuring out what those things are for you are super helpful. So a really great letter Really glad to know that the messages are making an impact and so just encouraging that man. Yeah, very very encouraged I think that's a great we love being able to see how you guys are processing some of our content because it helps inform us I want how to create future content as well So thank you for taking the time to write and answer these kind of things with us and now I want to encourage you But we're gonna pray you know over over what Doug had mentioned for all of us because I'm sure some of you guys are feeling that I'm in between The promise that I'm trying to receive from the Lord and how do we talk to God about that? Well, let's let's take a moment just to pray that to kind of process what we're feeling right now Heavenly Father, we start by reminding ourselves that you are good that you do have a plan for us that you are working Especially when we feel like we can't see it. You are still actively moving And we ask that you give us like what we read about in Philippians 4 peace that passes understanding peace that should not be there Peace that does not make sense Because we remember what you did before even though we're in the middle of the storm even though we feel like we're We're asking for the light at the end of the tunnel, but all we see is darkness Lord, we know you are our light and you are the one that gives us peace Nobody can take that from us. Yeah. Nobody who has authority over us can take our peace away that you give and We grab a hold of that peace that comes from your presence and as being in your word And we ask that you help us to hold on to that because we know you're holding on to us We know that you're here. We know that you're in the middle of it all

Even when we don't feel like it Jesus you're holding the cross and you even you even recited a Psalm that said my God What where are you? What does it feel like you forsaken me and really like you were doing your most powerful work? When you felt like God was farthest away, but he wasn't he was there We know God. She was doing a good work even in us in this time in Jesus name. We pray amen amen amen All right take that prayer make it your own Maybe even like read some of the scriptures that we talked about remind yourself and just how much God is actively working in your life Right now and keep the letters coming.
