LF Youth Worship!
Pastor Caitlyn leads the LF Youth. Amazing LF Worship.
Good morning, men and women. It's so awesome to be able to come to you again from Life Fellowship Church right here in McKinney, Texas, into your tablet on the Pando app. We're just so grateful for technology and for you just being able to have one. My name is Logan Williams and my TDC number is 1490218 and I did not have a tablet when I was in the Texas Department of Corrections and man, what a blessing it is. There's so much content, so much life that you can access in your spare time or just in your not-spare time when you're just there and you could be engaging in things that you know grieve the heart of God, you can now look on this tablet, you can get filled up. It's so good. It's so good. We're so blessed to be able to be on there and come to you. My heart is for you because I've been there. I haven't maybe been at your unit that you're at, but I've been around because I got four more numbers after that. Back and forth, back and forth, can't get out of this cycle. All those thoughts, is this it? Is this my destiny? Because eventually they'll just give you a number you can't fade and you're stuck. But God, but God, man, I just want to encourage you all this morning that anything is possible with Jesus and if you're watching this today, he's after you. He's leaving 99 to go get you. He's searching for the lost coin. He's got the lights turned on. He's sweeping the house looking. He's looking for you and I doubt you're going to get away. That's good news. That's good news. Hey, tell your friends and family they can download the same Life Fellowship app on the Pando app. You can get it on your phone. I got it on my phone. Y'all can watch the same services, the same teachings and all the same stuff and you can talk about it when you, when you write each other or see each other in visitation or talk on the phone. It's good to do this walk alone. Not to do this walk alone, but it's good to do it with family members, especially if you have kids. Don't fall victim to the lie that you can't lead your family just because you're incarcerated. That's, that's not true. You can be an example. You can speak life into your kids. You can pray over your kids. You can do all that stuff. Man, I was reading Matthew 11 verse 28 says, come to me all you who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. It says, take my yoke upon you and learn from me for I'm gentle and lowly in heart and you'll find rest for your souls. Rest for your soul. It's, it's different than just being tired. You know, our bodies get tired and we can just take a nap, right? We can just go to bed early, sleep extra. We can do those things. We can, we can take a
day off, but he's talking about rest for your soul. That's a different thing. That's, that's, it's almost like you're depleted and you need to be refilled and that can't be done with just a nap or a day off. But Jesus says, come to me all who are, all who labor and are heavy laden. Who is Jesus inviting to come to him? All, everybody. Gangsters, ex-gangsters, drug dealers, crackheads, prostitutes, thieves, all he's, they're all invited. In fact, I would submit to you that if Jesus was walking around on earth today, that's who he'd be hanging out with. We would be who he's hanging out with. People with five TDC numbers is who he would be hanging out with. Just based on who he hung out with when he was here. If you read the Bible. And so he's inviting you to come, everybody. I don't care if you haven't prayed in a month, he's saying come. I don't care if you haven't read the word in a month, he's saying come. I don't care if you haven't been to church in six months, he's saying come. He's not mad at you. He's not disappointed in you. He loves you just the way you are, and he says come. If you're discouraged, if you're beat down, if you're disappointed, if you're like, I don't know if I can do this one more day, he's saying come to me. When you think you've got it all handled, but inherently you know that you don't, when you're, when you're, when you're just, Just at your wits end, man, Jesus has come. And I know there's many moments in the different situations that you guys are in where you get discouraged, you get anxious, you get fearful, and you wanna just give up, but you can't because this machine just keeps going, this penitentiary thing just keeps on going, like there's nowhere you can go. Jesus says, come to me and I'll give you that rest. And he says, take my yoke upon you and learn from me. And that's interesting to me because what he's talking about there is a yoke is like a wooden crossbar that used to, back in the day,
before now we have tractors and plows, but they used to take two animals and link them together with this wooden crossbar. They would be strapped together so that they could work at the same pace, they could work together. And they found that two animals yoked together would do more work than individual animals not yoked together. And so it multiplies the work. And so he's saying, I wanna put this yoke, this work tool on you when you come to me because you're depleted and you're anxious and you're discouraged and you don't know if you can go on. He's saying, I wanna put this yoke on you and you're gonna actually be yoked with me and you're gonna do life with me. You're gonna do life at my pace. You're gonna do work at my pace. He says, learn from me for I'm gentle and lowly in heart. So how do we learn from Jesus? We read about him. We can pray and talk to him. We can do whatever we need to do, whatever that thing is that can refocus our attention on the grace and the goodness of God. That is the rest in the moment. Whatever that thing is, maybe it's praying, maybe it's worship, maybe it's put your earbuds in,
man, crank some worship. There's all kinds of worship on the Pando app. I particularly like the Life Fellowship worship, but there's tons of worship on there. Maybe that refocuses you to the grace and the goodness of God. One of my prayers every day is that, God, that I would never just get to a place where I'm not mind blown by your grace and mercy, by your endless sea of grace and mercy that you have for us, that you have for me, a sinner. Like Paul said, man, of the sinners, man, I'm the worst. I can say that, man. There's a war zone behind me. There is a train wreck in my story, but Jesus's grace and mercy is bigger than that. So if we can take time in the day and focus on that, that will begin to refill us. And so he's saying he's gentle and lowly and hard, and you'll find rest for your souls. This is the soul rest that we need. And I know being locked up, being in those big units, being in those crazy units, many of you need rest. And so Jesus says, come, man, come all. I know that some of you that are in county jails right now, man, and you're sweating that, what, what, what, how much time am I gonna get? How's it gonna go in court? Like that will wear you down, man, I know. Man, Jesus says, come all.
Yeah, but I've never come before, Jesus. He said, it doesn't matter, come all. Yeah, well, I've been all in with you and backslidden and all in and backslidden, and I just can't even imagine how you would possibly wanna give me another chance. He's saying, come, he's saying, come all. He has so much love and grace and mercy in his heart, guys, for us, it doesn't matter what you've done. It doesn't matter if you got high this morning. Jesus says, come, come all of you. He wants a relationship with us so bad, so bad. And so, I just wanna encourage you guys with that this morning. As I was reading it and thinking about, you know, my mind went back to being incarcerated, you know, and being in those places and all the crazy chaos and the anxiety and then the wondering, you know, in the county jails, how much time am I gonna get? But then once you get to prison, man, am I gonna make this parole? Am I gonna make this short way? Am I gonna, you know, just the not knowing, man, and it just wears you down. And then, you know, you try to call your family and for some reason, you can't get ahold of them. You know, your phone runs out of money. You know, you're, and so all this stuff comes. mind just weighs on you man and I just I feel like there's many of you that are in that place
that you're just like man just just want to give up but Jesus says come so come to him take him at his word just pray a prayer and say Jesus you say you say in your word to come to you and you'll give me rest and here I am I'm coming and I want rest from this anxiety I want rest from this discouragement I want uh not only to overcome that but I want to have joy in my heart and I want to be able to go into somebody else's dark place where they're about to be discouraged where they're about to give up and I want to be able to speak life into them like he wants to not just save you from the discouragement he wants to flip it into joy so that you can go step into someone's darkness and be the light to them like that's the that's the point it's not just to save us it's to transform us so that he can use us to enlarge his kingdom and make much of his name and guys there's nothing better than that there's nothing better I've experienced it all man all the different drugs all the drug life the the the sexual sin and and material things and money and I've been to the top of that mountain nothing touches being used by God and getting to be a light into someone's darkness and so be encouraged man and come to him come to him hold him at his word pray this scripture back to him I challenge you I challenge you guys let me pray for you this morning heavenly father I just love my brothers and sisters who are watching who are incarcerated who are hanging on who are trying to seek something new something better something different something with you and I know that you love that and I can just I can just have an impression in my heart right now of how proud of them that you are like you love them so much in any little act or effort to try to get closer to you even if it's just clicking on this video God you love that and so I just want to tell them right now in this prayer that that God loves you God is proud of you God is not disappointed in you there's nothing that tosses hands from saving you he will meet you right where you're at and I just declare in Jesus name that that will happen for every single person that's watching and I just thank you God that you're that you are a God of endless grace and mercy God that we would never take that for granted and that not a day would go by when we're not weren't just blown away by how much grace and mercy that you have for us God and we thank you we thank you for for sending Jesus man for bankrupting heaven for for giving it all just so that you can have a relationship with us and Jesus man we just say thank you for what you did on the cross we uh we love you so much and God I just pray for the men and women who are watching today that you would just pour out your blessings on them and that you would pour out your love and your peace on them right now

So with that, I want us to worship him. Set aside all of our distractions tonight. If you're near somebody that you're talking to or that's distracting you, get away and just focus your eyes on him. Just focus on him and praise him for who he is and what he's done for you. Lord Jesus, we just focus on you right now, God.
That there's nobody like you. We thank you that you heal us and that you save us. And we recognize tonight that you're holy, God. We recognize that you're holy, Jesus. There is a reason the angels cry, holy. There is a reason that heaven's song is holy. Come on, let's sing this again. There's a reason. There is a reason the angels cry, holy. There is a reason. There is a reason that heaven's song is holy. Cause there is no one like you. There is no one like you. There is no one like you. In all the earth. Let's sing this again. There is no one like you. There's no. There is no one like you. There is no one like you. In all the earth. You stand alone in every way. You're holy. What other words are left to say? Holy. You stand alone. You stand alone in every way. You're holy. What other words are left to say? Holy. Sing, there is no one like you. There is no one like you.
There is no one like you. In all the earth. I could search high and low. I could search forever. All my days. Oh, I could search forever. There is no one like you. In all the earth. There is no one. There is no one like you. There is no one like you, Jesus. We worship you. Come on, y'all lift up your hands all across this place. Sing this. Holy. Holy. Holy. Only a few One man, only, only a man And there is no one like you Oh, there is no one like you There is no one like you Oh, yeah I could search I could search forever Oh, I could search forever There is no one like you And oh, yeah See, there is no one like you There is no one like you
There is no one like you And oh, yeah See, I could search I could search forever I could search forever There is no one like you And oh, yeah Father, we just want to thank you right now for being so holy, Lord We thank you for just being you, Lord Lord, we thank you that you are so great That there is nobody like you here on earth, Lord We thank you that there is nobody with your power Nobody with your mercy Nobody who forgives you like you do, Lord So we just thank you We lift up our hands and we praise you, Lord And we know that if you never did another thing for us, Lord We could be content knowing the sacrifice that you made In Jesus' name Church, I was just reminded of Joshua 24, 14 Now, therefore, fear the Lord Serve him in sincerity and in truth Put away the gods which your father served on the other side of the river and in Egypt Serve the Lord Guys, I know that sometimes in our hearts we can dismiss verses like this Because we tell ourselves, well, we're not serving another god We only serve God, right? Okay, but you're serving idols And sometimes we're so filled with pride that we don't even accept that We don't even accept the fact that we idolize our phones so much every day
That we don't open our Bible at night We don't accept the fact that we idolize the food we eat That we're not even nourishing our bodies, guys Sometimes... we have to humble ourselves before the lord we have to take ourselves before the lord and lay ourselves at his feet and say lord we're not just making room for you in our hearts we're giving you all of the room we're not just clearing out a little bit of space so you can work a little bit no lord we give it to you all we give everything to you so you can move how you want to move in our lives not just what we're willing to accept lord we're willing to give you everything and that's what i feel called to tell you today because sometimes we only let the work we only let the lord work as much as we want him to and that's not enough because he has so much more planned for you okay y'all can go back to your seats guys what's up y'all god this is the gospel is everyone tired i'm really tired nobody wakes up and says you know what i think i'll ruin my life today okay no it happens slowly you ask god for direction and he feels you start making your own moves that's pretty cool one decision turns into another and before you know it you're somewhere you never meant to be i love camp we have a little uh promo video than you think there's the qr code if you want to sign up we have a little camp promo video i think hopefully oh we do one call to another he said holy holy holy is the lord of hosts the whole earth is worthy is the lamb, worthy is the lamb, it's worthy is the lamb, worthy is the lamb, holy at day and night they never cease to say holy holy holy is the lord god almighty who was and is and is to come yeah guys camp is amazing if y'all haven't signed up do that i've seen people's lives transformed at camp and you have so much fun so yeah what is what's today aloysia okay so not only is camp coming up but tonight is first wednesday it is the first wednesday of may guys so what does that mean you may ask we have summer sodas they are back guys come on forever summer sodas are back so after service everybody make sure to go get you a soda and add whatever syrups you would and then in uh free yes even better here in three weeks we got something we got something cool
coming up we got a little pickleball tournament how many of y'all like pickleball okay i'm really bad at pickleball but it'll be fun and we have what do we have we have a hundred dollar canes gift cards for all the winners and we know someone likes canes but yeah hundred dollar canes gift cards may 20th we have a qr code some somewhere to sign up maybe we don't what is that don't don't scan that don't scan that we don't have a qr code okay but just know it's coming up guys and even closer may 12th this tuesday guys is our final night for melissa movement yes okay it'll be taking place at the melissa gym and it'll be at 6 30 everybody needs to pull up lives are going to be changed we're going to have so much worship so much fun and community and we have four 20 dollar gift cards to whoever is willing to play and win our games so everybody loves free food and free seven brew so come win these gift cards on okay y'all so with that said let's turn our attentions to whichever screen it is because we have a bumper video huh is what's up LFU! How are you guys? Y'all good? Hey, can we do something a little bit different tonight? Um, if you are sitting on the sides, I love you if you're on the sides, can we just try to squeeze in? We say here at LF Youth, we're not a crowd, we're a fan. So we're gonna all squeeze in together. So if you're on the front row, that's okay, but if you can squeeze in, I just think there's something powerful when we're all together, like hearing the Word of God, we keep each other accountable, nobody's on their phone, it's a good time. Sound good? Wow, it's like quiet tonight. You guys, everybody okay? We all good? Praise God. Hey, if I haven't had a chance to meet you, my name is Caitlin, I'm the youth pastor here, and I just want to tell you, I'm so glad you're here. It is a Wednesday, and we're about to have so much fun. There's a lot of things you could be doing on a Wednesday, but I'm glad that you decided to spend it in the house of the Lord. Amen? So what we do here at LF Youth is every single week, we say our Word of the Year. Remember how at the beginning of the year, you always make like a little like New Year's resolutions? Anybody make New Year's resolutions? Yeah, yeah, we all make some New Year's, and then like February comes, and you're like, ah, I don't really
want to go to the gym anymore, or I don't really want to do this, or I don't want to get up early, or whatever. But here at LF Youth, every Wednesday, we declare our Word of the Year together. And what we do is we stand up on our feet, and we say it loud and proud like a family. So we're gonna repeat this all together. Are you ready? Yeah? Okay, ready? One, two, three. 2026 is the year of steadfast faith. I will be unwavering in my walk with Jesus. No matter what comes my way, I will stand firm as a Christian. Faithful, committed, devoted, and loyal to God is how I choose to live. No matter how I feel this year, I will be steadfast in my faith to Jesus Christ. Take a seat, take a seat. Y'all sound great. Hey, happy first Wednesday. I don't know about y'all, but I'm gonna get a nice summer soda station after this. Did anybody get a good combination before service? Anybody? What was the combo? Raspberry, coconut, blue raspberry, coconut, coconut, peach, raspberry, Texas Tab. Anybody else? Anybody try anything? I heard a leader had a Dr. Pepper with Blue Raz. Is that right, Alex? I don't know if Alex is in here. Was that correct? Was it good? Oh, there you are. Was it good? What's the rating out of 10? 10 out of 10. Okay, so go get you a little soda after service. We wanted to bless you guys and have those for y'all. I'm really excited because we are in the season finale of, the season finale, the series finale of our series, Why We Worship. So if you've been here the past three weeks, we have been talking about the heart of worship, why we worship, what worship's about. Worship is not just lifting up your hands, singing songs on a Wednesday or on a Sunday. Worship ultimately really is how we live. And it's really about living a life that honors God. So I think it's important that we look at this and we study what the Bible says about worship, which is why we've done this series. So last week we talked about idols. Was anybody here last week? If you weren't here last week, go back and watch it. That's your homework. Because we talked about even just what Eloisa was saying was so powerful. Like we have so many things in our culture today that we serve and we don't realize we serve because we don't bow down to it every day, but we spend time with it. And how many of you know where your time, your attention goes where your time is. So if you spend all your time doing something, that's what your mind is thinking about. That's what your attention is on. So this morning, I mean this evening, wow, it's been a long day. This evening, we're talking about Mary and the title of my message is Box-Breaking
Worship. Who's taking notes? Anybody else taking notes other than the four people that just said me? Praise God. Box-Breaking Worship. The series title is Why We Worship. The message is Box-Breaking Worship. Before we jump into Box-Breaking Worship, we haven't talked a lot over the past few weeks about the music side of worship. We've talked about obedience and we've talked about living a life that honors God, but we haven't talked a lot about music. And here's the thing. I was studying for this message and I really wanted to put a list of all the most common songs right now, the most popular songs. I wanted to put their lyrics up on the screen. But how many of you know, I get in a lot of trouble if I put all the lyrics up on the screen. I was thinking like, oh, I'll just bleep this out. And then I looked at the next one. I was like, oh, I have to bleep that out and I can't put that word there. but really just see no words. But yeah, there'd be a lot of nothing. But I was looking at all these songs and I think the common theme of the most popular songs, and when I tell you I know the most popular, not only because I looked it up, but I talked to our student leadership team. I'm like, hey, what are you guys listening to? What are your friends listening to? What are students in your high school and your middle schools listening to? There was like some common themes that were tied to these songs. There's a lack of identity, people trying to find themselves. There's a desire for love. There's this anger and betrayal. And how many of you know songs can make you feel some type of way, right?
And so it's important that as you're going about school, as you're walking in the hallways, what you're listening to, what you're consuming, you will think about. So it's important that you guard your mind. You guard not only your eyes, but your ears. Can somebody throw out one of the most common songs? What do you think the most common song or most popular song is right now? Oneness. Justin Bieber, Everything Hallelujah. We, hey, we actually, we like Everything Hallelujah. Michael Jackson. And he's, these are just, Ella Langley. A lot of songs that are really, they're not all terrible, and I'm not against secular music, but a lot of them are about sad things. And a lot of them are not honoring God. Ella Langley has a song that literally talks about, I want to do what I know I shouldn't do. So like, I'm just saying, let's be mindful. Let's guard our minds. Let's guard our hearts as we consume music. Y'all okay with that? Y'all okay with that reminder? All right, let's get into the Word. Mark chapter 14, verse three is where we're starting. Who's got their Bibles? You got your Bibles?
You got your blicky? Mark chapter 14, verse three. We're gonna go all the way to nine. I'm reading out of ESV. This is where we'll park today. I'm gonna reference a few other verses, but you just stay in Mark, and you underline and highlight and do all the things. You just say amen when you're there. Not yet? I hear you. Is it like extra quiet? Do we usually have like, we don't usually have anything going, right? It's just like so quiet. No? Okay. All right. Let's go. Mark chapter 14, verse three. And while he was at Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he was reclining at table, a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard, very costly. And she broke the flask. Somebody say, she broke it. She broke it. She broke the flask and poured it over his head. This is Jesus.
She poured it over his head. And there were some who said to themselves indignantly, why? I'll define it later. Why was the ointment wasted like that? For this ointment could have been sold for more than 300 denarii and given to the poor. And they scolded her. But Jesus said, somebody say, but Jesus. But Jesus said, leave her alone. Why do you trouble her? She has done a beautiful thing to me. For you always have the poor with you. And whenever you want, you can do good for them, but you will not always have me. She has done what she could. She has anointed my body beforehand for burial. And truly I say to you, wherever the gospel is proclaimed in the whole world, what she has done will be told in memory of her. Let's pray. Lord, I thank you for today. I ask that you would speak through your word. I pray that you would do what only you can do. I pray that you would move hearts in the room tonight. And I pray that you'd give us an understanding for what you want to speak to us in Jesus name. And everybody said, amen, amen, amen. So look, tonight we're talking about what it means to have box breaking praise.
Turn to your neighbor and say box breaking praise. That neighbor was weird. Turn to your other neighbor and say box breaking praise. If you're taking notes tonight, we're looking at box breaking praise. So the first characteristic of box breaking praise is that it's a sacrifice. It's costly. So let's look at that verse. A woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard. What's the, do we have the verse on the screen? What's that part? Of pure nard. It was very, come on, very. It was costly. This was worth 300 denarii. You know what that means? It was worth more than all the money a worker would make in a year. So a year of all that you made working at Swig, working at Seven Brew, your entire year worth of money. What's your favorite perfume? Somebody just say it. Your favorite cologne. Okay, there's one. Keep going. What is it? Huh? What else? What else?
Someone said sunscreen and that's a problem. Okay, bug spray is crazy. Listen, there, yeah, this is why y'all still sing. This is, there's a lot of perfumes today that are expensive and maybe for some of y'all, that would be a whole year's wages, but I just want you to think like some of the most expensive perfumes are hundreds and hundreds of dollars. Now think about this. She's a woman. She's, she's been working and, and, and all the men at the table, they've been working and they're like not in school. They're working full time. So think about what you make and then like quadruple it. And imagine that is all in this bottle of oil. I want to tell you tonight that worship, praise unto God, it is costly. It is a sacrifice. It hurts a little bit giving your everything to Jesus. Number two, we're going to move quick tonight. Number two is it's humble. It's broken. I'm going to come down here cause I feel like y'all are a little tired. Everybody okay tonight? I'm doing good. I had the anointing oil somewhere in here. Did somebody take it? Where's the anointing oil? Can somebody grab it for me? Ryan's going to get it. Hey guys, he's going to go get it. Thank you so much. He's going to go grab it.
Can I, uh, can I get a student leader? Just help me walk with me with this mic. Olivia, you got it. You got it. Can you just hold my mic for me? Thanks queen. Oh, you guys look all so great down here. Do you have it? Oh, thank you. Okay. Thank you so much. Yeah, I'm not going to break it. Okay. So a woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure Nard, very costly. And she, what? She, I'm sorry. I didn't hear you. She broke it. Now I'm not going to break this. I can't open it. Can somebody open this? Watch unashamed. She broke the oil and thank you so much. You can take the lid. Thank you. Sorry. She broke the oil. Thank you. And she let every ounce of oil flow onto the feet of Jesus. Okay.
Now, it was custom that any time someone entered your home, does anybody have makeup on? You would dab them with a little bit of oil, dab them up with a little bit of oil. It was custom. Now, every time somebody came into your house, does anybody want some holy oil haircut? Okay. That's it. That's all I'll do. So look, look, look, focus, focus. Nowadays, when someone enters your home, what do you do? I don't know if we all agree. People say, what is it? You might take their coat. You might dab them up. You might give them a high five. You might say, what's up? You're going to tip. Oh, thank you. I've got oil all over my hands now. You're going to greet them, right? It was custom in this time to do a little bit of oil, a little bit of oil on their head as a sign of like, welcome into the home, welcome into my house. So you have to understand, listen, Mary was breaking the norm. First of all, she had her hair down. Now in this custom, Mary had her hair covered or women were supposed to have their hair covered. They were like rocking the slicked back look every day. Anybody got a slicked back? Anybody got a slicked back? Claire had a slicked back on? They couldn't show their hair.
Okay. So, so they had their head covered. So look, watch. And then to add to all this, she's already got her hair down, which is like, huh, that's kind of weird for this culture. And then she takes the oil and she doesn't just dab Jesus on the forehead. She pours it all over him. It's okay. And look, I want you to reference just, Hey, who's got their notes? You got their notes. You know, it's just write down john 13. This is a teaching on servant leadership When jesus washes the feet of his disciples So imagine mary has her hair down Jesus is barefoot dogs are out She comes with no words no words Breaks her most costly possession It was likely a family heirloom like a a mom gave it to the daughter Maybe the grandma gave it to the mom. The mom gave it to the daughter like this was like irreplaceable And she came to jesus and she said jesus is actually worth all of it and watch She didn't just speak with her words She was a doer She didn't talk. She just did she she had no words. My words weren't even her words weren't even good enough She didn't just do a little dab of oil she said lord, let me let me pour out all of this oil all over you That's crazy That's wild. That's box breaking praise. That's humble
So number one box big breaking praise. It's a sacrifice number two. It's humble number three It's intentional write down intentional Intentional It's poured out let's go back to that verse A woman came with an alabaster flask of ointment of pure nard very costly and she broke the flask and she Poured it She poured it I think about you know, when i'm when i'm making a cup of coffee in the morning What do you do? You pour fair creamer you pour it But the coffee that doesn't end up in the cup, what is that called a spill It's called a spill She didn't spill it. She poured it this signifies intention Mary wasn't just like oh, I accidentally broke this and now i'm gonna just use it to To wash jesus's feet and to pour all of my oil on him. No, no, no, she like Broke it and she poured it with intention. This wasn't an accident. This wasn't a spill. This wasn't a mishap She made a decision with purpose to pour her most costly possession on jesus I'm gonna go back to the notes. I'm, sorry guys production. I'm gonna mess with the notes real quick. You ready? Oh, what slide are we on y'all still with me? You guys still with me whoa, where am I sorry cody or whoever's doing slides Okay, I want you to do this I want you to all go to your notes You got your notes. You got your bible Okay, look at this We're gonna go back through
What was what was the first point? Sacrifice so I want you to underline it was very costly And I want you to write Sacrifice. Sorry. My a's are weird This is going to help you study your bible This is verse what verse is this? Tell me production. I don't know I think it's either Four, I know it's three through nine, but I don't know if it's four or five three I don't know you just read it. You'll see it in your bible verse three Very costly. So it's a sacrifice She broke the flask go ahead and underline that put an arrow And it was humble Humble What was the last thing She poured it it was intentional I need us to learn how to write in our bibles how to study. Wow. Caitlin handwriting. Whoa Okay, you get the point Intentional. Ah, just forget that it was sack. It was sacrificial. It was humble. That is so embarrassing. It was intentional But here's what we need to do We need to learn how to break down scripture. Are you following me? You need to be able to read that and not just read a verse You need to be able to read a sermon. You need to be able to see a room You need to be able to see the the scene Happening like oh my goodness. This is crazy This woman just anointed Jesus and she actually did it prophetically because He was gonna go to the cross
so watch We're almost done we're gonna look At the flip side of this because the reality is there were people in the room That saw this happen and they judged this woman They judged her hardcore And they they were the religious folk so they didn't really understand true box-breaking worship and I want you to to recognize this I need you to recognize what they thought this was because what the enemy will try to do is get you to you know you might hear from God and what the enemy will try to do is get you to think oh that wasn't really God that wasn't really the Lord and so I want you to recognize what these people in the room what they thought of each of these characteristics are you with me are you following this is deep are y'all okay with deep okay here's what they thought they thought number one it's wasteful we said it's a sacrifice the religious people thought it was wasteful why would you take a costly oil and use it all on one man's feet that doesn't make sense look at verse 4 there were some who said to themselves indignantly why was the ointment wasted like that indignant some of you don't know what indignant means it means feeling or showing anger annoyance or scorn especially over a situation that is considered unjust unfair or unworthy Jesus isn't worthy of that that's too much why is she doing that can you believe that it's what all the guys are saying they said to themselves indignantly why was the ointment wasted like that it wasn't poured it was wasted number two unnecessary religious people will think oh that's unnecessary that's not humble that's not broken that's unnecessary look at the verse for this ointment sorry I'm back to controlling my slides for this ointment could have been used could have been sold for more than 300 denarii and given to the poor you know what's interesting about this is Judas is actually known
for saying that and what a lot of people don't know is that Judas was believed to have stolen from the offering bag quite often in Jesus's ministry so he's trying to deflect his own sin by shaming somebody else Judas if you don't know is the disciple that betrayed Jesus betrayed Jesus for a little bit of money and what we see happening here is he's trying to deflect his own sin oh do you know what that money could have been used for meanwhile Judas is the one that's been stealing make it make sense the enemy will do this often instead of confessing your sin and receiving healing the enemy will try to get you to accuse others the Bible says in Revelation that the enemy is the accuser of the brethren what does this mean it means he sits and he accuses you remember when you did this remember when you did that remember what happened here and what happened there remember when you said that he accuses you that is not the voice of the Lord that is the voice of the enemy now I want to I want to add to that the Bible also says that the enemy is defeated by two things the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony simple terms would say this he's defeated by Jesus Christ the sacrifice of the cross and our personal story of how Jesus saved our life people don't understand that true praise will tell you that the the way you worship Jesus the way that you give glory to God people will say it's unnecessary but they don't know what God's done for you they don't know the ways that God has made the mountains that he has moved they don't know how God has worked in your own life and let me tell you if he hasn't worked in your life yet he will but will you let him will you let him take your addiction will you let him take your pain will you let him take your hurt will you let him take your offense your bitterness I believe he wants to do that tonight Psalm 51 verse 17 says my sacrifice O God is a broken spirit a broken and contrite heart you O God you will not despise that God loves a broken heart not in the sense that you come to him sad all the time but it's a sense of you come to him needy I need God some of you go to your girlfriend's needy you go to your boyfriend's needy you need to come to Jesus needy
I need you God I need you I'll say it like this God blesses what you're willing to break So if you if you will sacrifice to the Lord what he's asking you to he will bless it I promise Might not be in the way that you want it to always be it might not be in the way that you thought he should Bless it or thought he should handle the situation, but he will bless it I promise you that number three religious folk will say your box-breaking praise is too much Look at the end of verse 5 and they scolded her They scolded her anybody ever been scolded They scolded her and the keys can come up at any time when you pour out your worship to God Oftentimes people will think that you're doing too much When you intentionally pour your heart out to the Lord a lot of times People say oh, it doesn't take all that It really doesn't it doesn't take all that you're gonna be doing all that But why do we so often let the opinions of others dictate our praise Dictate the way that we worship And I'm not just talking about worship on a platform, I'm not talking about worship on a Wednesday, although it's important to give God our best I'm talking about when you get offered a drink at a party and you say oh, no. Thank you and people say oh You're doing too much You guys are quiet tonight whoo Or or guys because sometimes the guys feel like I pick on the guys too much So I'm gonna pick on the girls this time guys when that girl is trying to push your boundaries and you're like, oh no, I don't do that because I'm a holy man of God and She says oh you're doing too much This is worship why because it's obedience to God obedience to God is worship That is worship So when someone says oh my let my life be worship my life is worship I want to worship God
When we say that I hope you know, we're not just saying like oh, let me just sing songs No, no, that means your life is obedience to God. You're saying God. I give you everything. I am willing to obey Even when it's hard Everybody can just stand up. We're gonna we're gonna close pretty pretty soon here Here's the thing we're gonna close out this series on worship and we're gonna all worship together, but I Have a couple calls that I want to make and I'm gonna ask that you not be distracted in this time I'm gonna ask that you don't Get distracted by your neighbor look to your right or left. I want you guys to really focus in because I'm just tired of seeing a generation complacent I'm tired of seeing a lot of teenagers like oh It's fine. I don't care like I believe that God wants to move in your heart I believe God wants to move in your life And I want you guys to experience the true power and presence of God So nobody move it around. This is a holy moment. This is a Holy moment. We're gonna turn the lights a little bit down actually a lot down. Honestly, please I Want to ask you guys a couple questions tonight first question. Nobody's looking around if they were it wouldn't matter I always want to give you the opportunity to get your heart right with the Lord to give your life to Jesus You might have heard this story about Mary breaking her box and you're like Caitlin I don't even know why she would do that like Jesus I mean I've heard about him, but I I don't know that that type of man like for her to do all that I'm thinking like if you some of you are in here thinking I'm the religious person like that's kind of crazy and I just want to Encourage you to not like God might be knocking on your heart a little bit He might be pulling on your heart to say you think that's crazy. But if you really knew me you would do that And so if that's you in the room if you say hey Caitlin, I need to get right with God I'm gonna tell you this like the day is coming where Jesus will come back And he's gonna come back for a pure and spotless bride He's gonna come back for the believers of him the Christ followers So if that's you you don't have to make a huge gesture but just wave at me so I can see who I'm praying for
Wave at me, wave at me. We're gonna pray all together. I see you, I see you, I see you guys. We're gonna pray this as a church family. We're gonna say this all together. Say, Jesus, I give you my life. I repent of my sin. I ask that you would change me, purify me, heal me. I devote my life to you. In Jesus' name, amen. I wanna tell you, for those that gave your life to Christ tonight, I'm proud of you, but this is just the beginning. This is the easiest place to give your life to the Lord because there's a bunch of Christians in here that are excited, but it's gonna be tough out there, and I would be lying to you if I said, oh, it's easy to follow God. It is hard, but it is worth it. So I wanna encourage you, if you gave your life to Christ tonight, to get connected. Tell a leader, tell somebody, I made a decision for Jesus tonight. We wanna celebrate with you. Here's how we're gonna end tonight.
I feel like we were all together as a church family supposed to come up to the front and worship. And I don't mean extravagantly worship just for the sake of it. I mean, I think there are some things that we need to sacrifice. There are some things that you need to lay down at the altar. There are some things you need to give to God and literally say, God, I give this to you. So leaders actually aren't gonna come pray for you until about towards the end. This is gonna be a moment for you and God, for God not only to speak to you, but for you to give up what you gotta give up for Jesus. So what we're gonna do is we're gonna go back into that song, Oneness, and we're gonna declare together this timeless truth. Lord, I wanna be like Mary, pouring oil down at your feet. I wanna be like David. If you don't know David, he was dancing in the street. I wanna be like Peter, taking a step of faith on the water. And we're gonna sing this all together. And we'll have different moments where we pray for you guys. But if we could all just make our way to the front from the front row to the back row, we're gonna all do this together. And we're gonna pray together at the end because we're a church family, we do this.
So just come up to the front, come up to the front. And the worship team is gonna just lead us right now. They're gonna begin to sing. And I want you to just lift up your hands, lift up your hands, surrender your heart. Leaders, let's lead the way in this. Let's join them as we worship together, as we sacrifice together. I want you to say this all together, lift up your hands and say, God. Come on, say God. I give you my everything. I worship you tonight, Lord. Come and have your way in my heart. In Jesus' name, amen. ♪ I wanna be like Mary ♪ ♪ Pouring oil down on your feet ♪ ♪ I wanna be like David, dancing in the streets ♪ ♪ I wanna be like Peter, stepping out into the water ♪ ♪ I wanna be like Moses, turn your faces on us ♪ ♪ I wanna be like Mary, pouring oil down on your feet ♪ ♪ I wanna be like David, dancing in the streets ♪ ♪ I wanna be like Peter, stepping out into the water ♪ ♪ I wanna be like Moses, turn your faces on us ♪ ♪ I wanna be the one to give every part of me ♪ ♪ I wanna be the one to give every part of me ♪ ♪ Because you are all I want ♪ ♪ You're all I need, my everything ♪ ♪ Because you are all I want, you're all I need ♪ ♪ My everything, Jesus ♪

This is what it feels like to finally be free, free from fear, free from failure. And thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ,
for the grave couldn't grip him. The chains have crumbled, the curse is crushed, and with every breath, we boldly declare we are finally free. Can anybody feel this heartache? Is anyone around? Feels like we're running around in circles, we can't catch our breath, we can't enjoy the moment when we always want what's next, yeah. Just when I can't take no more, it's when I hear you say, don't hang your head when you get lonely. No, I'll never leave your side, and don't go thinking you're the only one that can get it right. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, love found in your soul. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, and I won't let you go. I know there's nowhere I can run, there's nowhere I can hide from the one who gave his life so I could get back my name. So when you can't take no more, look up and hear him say, don't hang your head when you get lonely. No, I'll never leave your side, and don't go thinking you're the only one that can get it right. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, love found in your soul. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, and I won't let you go. When you go in that door, I'm right there with you. When you're hurting and sore, I'm massaging that tissue. I'm resolving that issue. I'm regarding the myth. Got my love and love with you. Blow the trumpet, come get it. My only son and he gives too. He's the only one and he cares. I think that's it. People blessed in the middle too. We are messengers, let my music get lonely too. Sing to me too. Don't hang your head when you get lonely. No, I'll never leave your side, and don't go thinking you're the only one that can get it right. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, love found in your soul. Yeah, you got my love, love, love, love, and I won't let you go. Made a fool of me once or twice, three times, never left my side. Walked in my valley, burned in my pride, never left my side. You made everything, can't run, can't hide. All less failed, your love stands, never left my side. Don't look at it, you came here to rescue me. When I close my eyes, I can almost picture what heaven's like, but there's nothing sweeter. Till that time, I'ma live my life, with only ever one thing to say. Oh, I'm feeling good, I'm living it, you're sending me a promise, so I can see it. I'm feeling good, I can't deny it. There's blessings all around us, so I believe it. I'm feeling good. I'm in a good life, oh I have all I need, not just a new heart, not living a lie. The streets are set on fire, and I close my eyes, I can no longer picture what their face like, but there's nothing sweeter, till they tell I'm living my life, it's only ever once in a day.
Oh, I'm feeling good, I will admit it, they're sending me a drop so I can see it, I'm feeling good, I can't deny it, there's blessings on the rise, so I believe it, I'm feeling good. Oh, I'm feeling good, I will admit it, they're sending me a drop so I can see it, I'm feeling good, I can't deny it, there's blessings on the rise, so I believe it, I'm feeling good. I would never let you go, I would never let you go, I would never let you go, I would never let you go, I would never let you go, I would never let you go, I would never let you go. It's only ever one thing to say, oh I'm feeling good, I'm really need it, you're sending me a promise so I can see it, I'm feeling good, I can't deny, there's blessings all around us so I believe it, I'm feeling good. We spent the whole night trying to blow up, but L.O.V.E. never had time for doughnuts, the people don't have no time for cold cuts, the game like big bitch can't get your nut, yeah I'm still independent, ain't sold a million records yet, used to be on my checklist, big diamonds don't need a necklace lit, we built this sound like it's double speed Tetris, I cannot build without God in it, we built this sound you can't call Jesus, I never brag it's just confidence, I never brag for your compliments, I wrote this song for the Indie grind, 50 way sign on the drop dead tight, can't buy my soul with no dollar signs, the industry sold for the chocolate dice, I don't follow trends, say that with my chest, no I will not bend, I don't follow trends, say that with my chest, no I will not bend, Run it up, run it up, run it up, run it up. You gotta put in that work, dawg, I put the king first I know that you gotta wait for your turn sometimes To build something really sustainable, work on your catalog So the day that you finally pop off You'll see it's not just a once-off You put in time, the harvest is ready, it's ripe I thank God for the payment That's a solid foundation When I finally make it I'll give God all the praises G-O-D who conquered evil forces I don't trust in chariots or fortresses I don't follow trends Say that with my chest I will not bend I don't follow trends Say that with my chest I will not bend Run it up, run it up Run it up, run it up Run it up, run it up Run it up Well, right am I now
