La Solución A Tu Preocupación // The Solution To Your Worry
- Today we are starting a new series. (speaking in foreign language) - Called worry less, live more. (speaking in foreign language) - So the next few weeks we're going to be learning. (speaking in foreign language) - How to deal with worry and anxiety in our lives. (speaking in foreign language) - We all worry about something. (speaking in foreign language) - And if we're honest. (speaking in foreign language) - This year 2020, we felt like it's been the longest year of our lives. (speaking in foreign language) - And we are more worried now than we've ever been before. (speaking in foreign language) - The stores are filled with books on the subject. (speaking in foreign language) - The internet is filled with articles about stress and anxiety. (speaking in foreign language) - And the reason why so much has been written about the subject. (speaking in foreign language) - It's because people are so worried about so many things. (speaking in foreign language) - And studies show. (speaking in foreign language) - That we are all dealing with stress and anxiety.
(speaking in foreign language) - Look at what this magazine said. (speaking in foreign language) - People in this nation are the most anxious people in the planet. (speaking in foreign language) - So let's define what worry is. (speaking in foreign language) - And you can write this down. (speaking in foreign language) - Worry is essentially dwelling in the troubles of tomorrow. (speaking in foreign language) - That is what worry is. (speaking in foreign language) - Isn't it true that we never worry about this minute now? (speaking in foreign language) - It's always about the next minute. (speaking in foreign language) - And worry is saying that I feel good right now. (speaking in foreign language) - I feel safe right now. (speaking in foreign language) - But it's always the minutes of the future. (speaking in foreign language) - In which I'm not too sure about. (speaking in foreign language) - So worry is to want to have control. (speaking in foreign language) - Or find certainty in tomorrow.
(speaking in foreign language) - Another thing that worry is. (speaking in foreign language) - And this is something you know. (speaking in foreign language) - You can write this down as well. (speaking in foreign language) - Worry doesn't add anything to your life. (speaking in foreign language) - It doesn't add not even one more hour to your life. (speaking in foreign language) - It doesn't extend your life upon this earth. (speaking in foreign language) - On the contrary, experts say that worry shortens our lives. (speaking in foreign language) - Here I have this rocking chair. (speaking in foreign language) - My wife and I had one of these in the room when our children were little. (speaking in foreign language) - I remember that her or I, depending on whose turn it was, and this is what marriage is. (speaking in foreign language) - Those of you that are married, that's something extra. (speaking in foreign language) - But if it was her turn or if it was my turn. (speaking in foreign language) - I would take gagi that looked exactly like this. (speaking in foreign language)
- He was full like this little bear. (speaking in foreign language) - And I remember I would place him over my chest like this. (speaking in foreign language) - And with a lot of love, I would pat him on his back. (speaking in foreign language) - Once I would hear him snoring. (speaking in foreign language) - I would get up very carefully. (speaking in foreign language) - And I would put him in his crib. (speaking in foreign language) - But I don't remember. (speaking in foreign language) - Ever sitting in the chair alone. (speaking in foreign language) - Just to be rocking back and forth. (speaking in foreign language) - Did you know that worry is just like a rocking chair? (speaking in foreign language) - It just gives you something to do but it doesn't take you anywhere. (speaking in foreign language) - And many of us are living our lives. (speaking in foreign language) - As if we were in a rocking chair. (speaking in foreign language) - But we are not getting anywhere. (speaking in foreign language) - And a day of worry.
(speaking in foreign language) - Is more exhausting than a day of work. (speaking in foreign language) - But we believe that we have good reasons to worry. - That you wish they would never make. - Or maybe after many years in a relationship of marriage. - All of a sudden that spouse says to you, "You know what, I don't want to be in this relationship anymore." - And we worry so much. Because of work, because of the future, because of our children. - And we think that we can't take it anymore. - We are a generation that is dealing with anxiety more than any other generation before us. - And do you know why? - Because nowadays, everyone has a phone. - And the most expensive ones. - That is constantly feeding you information. - And to top it off, we have the news channels. - And if it's the Spanish channels, it's even worse. - They're even more dramatic. - And these news channels weren't created to give us the entire truth. - They're designed to give you just enough information. - And make us get worried. - So that the next day, we'll be right there in front of the TV watching the news. - It's not surprising that we're so stressed out. - This is why this entire series... - It's not me preaching from a place... - Where I've already arrived. - I'm going to preach from my simple weakness. - I'm going to preach to myself first.
- Before preaching to you. - Because I also worry. - But I'm also not the type of person that believes that the devil is behind me. - If you ran out of gas. - You can't say, "Oh, the devil is attacking me." - You simply forgot to put gas in your car. - If your light was cut off at home. - You can't say, "Brother, the devil is attacking me." - No, you simply forgot to pay the light bill. - But I do believe... - That there is an enemy behind our peace. - And many are living like in this chair. - With the hope... - That if I spend enough time worried... - Consumed by my thoughts. - The peace that I've already lost... - Will return to my soul. - But you know what? Jesus, the Son of God. - That knows everything. - That knows our weak humanity. - Over 2,000 years ago. - He touched on the subject of worry. - And all the things that people use to numb their anxiety, their worry? - Yes, they help a little. - But today, September 13th, Jesus comes and stands before you. - And says, "Son, daughter, I have the answer for this." - And this is the first thing that Jesus wants us to learn. - The thing you worry about most is the thing you are most devoted to. - And you know what you're most devoted to. - Allow me to explain this.
- For example, I'm not worried about your job. - I don't do it because I'm not devoted to your job. - First of all, because I have no idea what you're doing. - But if you tell me pastor, I lost my job. - Then I would care about this. - I would pray for you. - So that God could provide a new job? - But I don't go home and sit in my sofa. - And continue worried about your job because I'm not devoted to it. - So when the church is closed, - But you weren't as worried as I was. - I couldn't even sleep, brothers and sisters. - I would end up falling asleep four or five in the morning. - Worried praying. - Thinking, what are my brothers and sisters doing? - Thinking, what are my brothers and sisters doing? - So I would be so worried. - Because that is what I am devoted to. - I'm not worried about your children's school grades. - If you say it to me, pastor, my child is getting really bad grades. - I would care about this and I would say to you, you need to keep an eye on your child. - There's something going on. - But I don't go home, worried and praying and God, please let the children of my brother and sister get good grades. - Because that is not something I am devoted to. - I was devoted to mine. - And I was worried for them to pass on to the next grade. - So if we can understand this. - So if we can understand this. - Let's say it this way. - Worried is connected to what we are most devoted to.
- Let's say it this way. - Your emotion follows your devotion. - And if we were to change our devotion. - What would happen with our worry? - Look at what Jesus said. - Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink or your body, what you will wear. - Beloved, Jesus isn't giving us a suggestion. - Jesus is giving us a commandment. - And to be honest with you, this challenges me and it makes me tremble. - Because if I were to see Jesus, I would say that him Jesus, what do you mean about do not worry about tomorrow? - Does your word not say that the wise man prepares himself for tomorrow? - And stores up, saves up for the next generation. - I think that we should think about and prepare ourselves for the future. - But the Lord is telling us, do not worry about what you are going to eat or what you are going to drink. - How many of us here worry about this? - I believe that no. - Jesus is talking to a generation that is very different. - That is very different than us. - Because in this century we are the type of people who don't worry about what we are going to eat or drink. - Listen, when you leave here today. - You have so many options of where you go eat, options to spare. - We are the type of people that when you get home. - And you open your fridge and it's full. - And you start there to say I have nothing to eat. - The food isn't cooked but it's filled with food. - When Jesus said this to this generation, they didn't have a refrigerator. - This is why for them this meant something deeper. - If the Lord were to come today and stand here in person. - To us he would say something like this. - Don't worry about your life whether you are going to have enough provision.
- Those of you that are single, don't worry if this is how you are going to stay for the rest of your life. - Don't worry if you are going to find a job that you like. - Don't worry about keeping your job. - Don't worry about your company, your business. - Don't worry about your health, your children. - And you and I would say what Jesus? - What do you mean, don't worry about my health, my kids, my job, my family? (speaking in foreign language) - Does this mean that that isn't important? (speaking in foreign language) - That is not the Lord's point. (speaking in foreign language) - He is not minimizing our situation. (speaking in foreign language) - Nor is he discarding the worry that we have. (speaking in foreign language) - This is why this entire series is not about saying. (speaking in foreign language) - Your situation is not that bad, don't worry, it's fine. (speaking in foreign language) - Because this does not help any way. (speaking in foreign language) - Those of us that have lived in life, enough time. (speaking in foreign language) - We realize that life is difficult. (speaking in foreign language) - And the last thing that we want to hear when we're going through something hard. (speaking in foreign language)
- It's for someone to say to us, don't worry, your situation is not that bad, it's fine. (speaking in foreign language) - Jesus is not saying this. (speaking in foreign language) - Now he's also not telling us to live in an irresponsible way. (speaking in foreign language) - Nor for us to live in a way where we don't recognize our situation. (speaking in foreign language) - He is giving us the commandment, do not worry about your life. (speaking in foreign language) - Now if Jesus is telling us this and he is God. (speaking in foreign language) - Then we should assume that there is a way to do it. (speaking in foreign language) - And this is the first point that Jesus is trying to make, right? (speaking in foreign language) - There is a way to face uncertainty tomorrow, but not worry about it today. (speaking in foreign language) - And you and I say, okay, Jesus, it's fine. (speaking in foreign language) - If there is a way, then tell me how. (speaking in foreign language) - Everything you're saying to me, it sounds great. (speaking in foreign language) - But help me, how do I do it?
(speaking in foreign language) - And then he asked this question. (speaking in foreign language) - Is not life more important than food and the body more important than clothes? (speaking in foreign language) - What Jesus is trying to do. (speaking in foreign language) - Is to help us for us to see the entire picture clearly. (speaking in foreign language) - Because we're so concentrated and focused on our worries. (speaking in foreign language) - Rocking ourselves on the chair. (speaking in foreign language) - Consumed by our thoughts. (speaking in foreign language) - But Jesus today stands before you. (speaking in foreign language) - And he says, son, daughter, it's time for you to get up out of the chair. (speaking in foreign language) - And begin to rest in my presence. (speaking in foreign language) - And then he says something more insensitive. (speaking in foreign language) - Look at the birds of the air. (speaking in foreign language) - And you and I will say, seriously, Jesus? (speaking in foreign language) - This is all you have to say to me.
(speaking in foreign language) - I have so many things in life that stress me out. (speaking in foreign language) - And you tell me not to worry to look at the birds in the sky. (speaking in foreign language) - I don't have time to look at the birds of the air, Lord Jesus. (speaking in foreign language) - I need a job. (speaking in foreign language) - I don't have time to look at the birds of the air. (speaking in foreign language) - My children have so many struggles at school. (speaking in foreign language) - I don't have time to look at the birds of the air, Jesus. (speaking in foreign language) - My family is falling apart. (speaking in foreign language) - But Jesus with so much tenderness and love, he looks at you and he says. (speaking in foreign language) - Son, daughter, I'm not discarding the importance of all these. (speaking in foreign language) - I'm just trying to help you not to worry. (speaking in foreign language) - And the reason why you're so worried. (speaking in foreign language) - Is because you are too concentrated on this.
(speaking in foreign language) - And your devotion goes with your focus. (speaking in foreign language) - And your emotion follows your devotion. (speaking in foreign language) - And this is a mess. (speaking in foreign language) - Let me give you some advice. (speaking in foreign language) - All right, Jesus, what are you going to see? (speaking in foreign language) - Look at the birds of the air. They do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly father feeds them. (speaking in foreign language) - Are you not much more valuable than they? (speaking in foreign language) - Do you believe that I care more for you than the birds? (speaking in foreign language) - If you were created in my image, says Jesus. (speaking in foreign language) - In fact, when God said he was going to send the Savior of the world. (speaking in foreign language) - He didn't say he was gonna send him in the form of a bird or a flower. (speaking in foreign language) - Or in the form of a cow, not even in the form of a lion. (speaking in foreign language) - He said, "I'm going to send my son, the Savior of the world."
(speaking in foreign language) - In the form of a human being. (speaking in foreign language) - So that he can feel everything that you feel. (speaking in foreign language) - And that you be able to understand that you are the most important thing to me in this universe. (speaking in foreign language) - And this takes us to the next principle. (speaking in foreign language) - Be responsible in the now and trust God for tomorrow. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - And you may say, "Lord, I've been responsible in the now." (speaking in foreign language) - And I've trusted in you for tomorrow. (speaking in foreign language) - I've done more than the birds. I've done more than the flowers. (speaking in foreign language) - I believe that you love me more than either of these two things. (speaking in foreign language) - So I'm doing what I know to do. (speaking in foreign language) - But I'm going to trust in you for tomorrow. (speaking in foreign language) - I'm not going to waste my time nor my life. (speaking in foreign language)
- It's obvious that I'm going to sew and reap. (speaking in foreign language) - I will store up. (speaking in foreign language) - All of these things. (speaking in foreign language) - I will do everything that I can do. (speaking in foreign language) - And I'm going to trust that you will do what I cannot do. (speaking in foreign language) - And the Lord continues to ask. (speaking in foreign language) - Can any one of you by worrying at a single hour to your life? (speaking in foreign language) - And the answer is no one can. (speaking in foreign language) - He could have asked. (speaking in foreign language) - How many of you believe that you've lost hours of your life? (speaking in foreign language) - By worrying so much. (speaking in foreign language) - Everyone here, we would all lift up our hands. (speaking in foreign language) - And the Lord continues to tell them. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - See how the flowers of the field grow.
They do not labor or spin. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - Yet I tell you that not even Solomon and all his splendor was dressed like one of these. (speaking in foreign language) (speaking in foreign language) - If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire. (speaking in foreign language) - Well, he not much more clothed you, you of little faith. (speaking in foreign language) - In other words, there's a relationship that exists. (speaking in foreign language) - Between the size of your faith and the size of your worries. (speaking in foreign language) - Jesus is saying the following. (speaking in foreign language) - The reason why your worries are so big. (speaking in foreign language) - Is because your faith is so little. (speaking in foreign language) - Have you ever run into people who have so much faith? (speaking in foreign language) - That they're going through the same situation as you. (speaking in foreign language) - And it seems as if they're not worried. (speaking in foreign language) - And you even get mad. (speaking in foreign language)
- And you say, what's wrong with you? (speaking in foreign language) - We're all worried. (speaking in foreign language) - You need to worry as well. (speaking in foreign language) - And in fact, it seems like their situation is worse than yours. (speaking in foreign language) - You see the future of these people as dark and uncertain. (speaking in foreign language) - And you talk with them and they've done everything they can. (speaking in foreign language) - And you see that they have the ability to process all the bad. (speaking in foreign language) - And they simply don't look worried. (speaking in foreign language) - It doesn't even look like they're afraid of this pandemic. (speaking in foreign language) - And you say, if I were going, (speaking in foreign language) I don't know what I would do. (speaking in foreign language) I'm so glad that it's not me that's going through that. (speaking in foreign language) If I were going through that, then my life would be a disaster. (speaking in foreign language) I would be drinking even more.
(speaking in foreign language) Then I already am. (speaking in foreign language) My family would have already exploded. (speaking in foreign language) I would be taking more medication for anxiety. (speaking in foreign language) I don't even know how I would get out of bed in the morning. (speaking in foreign language) If I were going through that, I don't know what I would do. (speaking in foreign language) And you see these people, they're not okay. (speaking in foreign language) They are just simply not worried. (speaking in foreign language) You know what, you just met someone who has so much faith. (speaking in foreign language) Because the greater your faith is, the less your worry will be. (speaking in foreign language) Jesus is saying this is a faith problem. (speaking in foreign language) We haven't allowed our faith to reach the next level. (speaking in foreign language) And Jesus continues to say. (speaking in foreign language) So do not worry saying, what shall we eat? Or what shall we drink?
Or what shall we wear? (speaking in foreign language) He says for the pagans, the people that don't believe God, run after all these things. (speaking in foreign language) And your heavenly Father knows that you need them. (speaking in foreign language) The reality is that we all live around people who are in the same circumstances. (speaking in foreign language) They have the same needs. (speaking in foreign language) The same anxiety is the same uncertainty. (speaking in foreign language) We worry about our possessions. (speaking in foreign language) We worry about our jobs, our business. (speaking in foreign language) Our home, our family, our children. (speaking in foreign language) The future, our marriage. (speaking in foreign language) But Jesus is saying. (speaking in foreign language) When you run into someone. (speaking in foreign language) With those people that don't believe in me. (speaking in foreign language) And who have the same problems as you. (speaking in foreign language)
You should act in a way where those people will be surprised. (speaking in foreign language) And this takes us into the third principle. (speaking in foreign language) Don't let worry in so that light can flow out. (speaking in foreign language) In other words, those people that don't know the Lord. (speaking in foreign language) Should look at us and say. (speaking in foreign language) It's incredible. It doesn't look like you're worried. (speaking in foreign language) I'm not trying to say that you're irresponsible or that you don't care. (speaking in foreign language) You simply don't look worried. (speaking in foreign language) How are you managing this? (speaking in foreign language) How do you sleep at night? (speaking in foreign language) Because I see that you're not out of control. Like everyone that I know that is going through the same thing. (speaking in foreign language) Jesus says this is the opportunity to allow his light to flow out of us. (speaking in foreign language) Listen, I believe that as a church and as Christians. (speaking in foreign language)
This is the opportunity that God has given us this year 2020. (speaking in foreign language) To allow his light to flow out of us. (speaking in foreign language) Before the people that don't know the Lord yet. (speaking in foreign language) Because we're in a place in this nation. (speaking in foreign language) Where people are more worried than ever before. (speaking in foreign language) This is our opportunity to shine. (speaking in foreign language) In fact, up until this point, the Lord. (speaking in foreign language) Has not yet given us the key to overcome our worry. (speaking in foreign language) But look at how this thought ends. (speaking in foreign language) But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. (speaking in foreign language) And this is a very powerful principle. (speaking in foreign language) The solution to worry. (speaking in foreign language) Is to redirect your devotion. (speaking in foreign language) What you've devoted yourself to extraordinarily is what has taken you into the valley of worry. What you've been seeking first has taken you to where you are emotional. The solution for worry is to redirect your devotion because your devotion determines where your emotions will be and your emotions will determine what worries you.
Also all things school, work, your marriage, your kids. Jesus says, I know that they are important. In fact, your Heavenly Father knows about all of these things, but if all of these things are your main devotion, you will live a life of worry. I want to invite you this morning to live and to think a completely different way. Jesus' invitation with all of these verses that we've read is for us to come to Him and not surrender just a part of our lives, but our entire life. Not just that area that worries us. He says, this is what I want you to do. I want you to redirect your devotion. I want you to first seek my kingdom and righteousness. What it means is that you put my agenda for the world first. And your personal agenda always comes second. Because seeking always your security will always feed your worry. But to seek God's agenda first will free us from worry. And look at this last phrase. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. And all these things will be given to you as well. Jesus, are you talking about the things that I worry about so much? Those are the things that God wants to give to me. And Jesus says, yes, because your heavenly father knows that you need this. He wants to be your provider, he wants to be your healer. He wants to return that peace that you've lost into your soul. And the things that you stressed out most about are the things that God wants to care for. And look at the last verse. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow. For tomorrow worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. So the Lord waits for us to say, Lord Jesus, I'm not going to worry.
Not because I don't care or I'm irresponsible, but because I cannot control the future, but I will trust that you will be there. And as my trust increases, my faith will grow deeper. And my worries will become smaller and smaller in my life. Close your eyes and bow your heads, please. I don't know what you're dealing with. It may be stress, anxiety or worry. In such a way where you can't sleep at night. And you've felt even panic attacks. Your heart was beating so fast in your chest that you feel like it was going to jump out "It's that peace that surpasses all understanding." "That God wants to give your life today." "Allow me to pray." "Father, we thank you for the instructions that you give to us." "That we shouldn't worry." "And this is more possible than we think." "Lord, thank you for all of this." "Today we direct our devotion to you." "This doesn't mean that we're going to be irresponsible." "But that we're going to do everything that we can do today." "But we're going to trust in you for tomorrow." "We pray for that peace that our hearts need." "We pray so that in the name of Jesus..." "We first seek your kingdom." "And that stress and anxiety that plagues our hearts." "And that makes our minds go crazy." "May they be torn down today." "May they flee from us." "We declare this morning..." "That these chains of our worry are broken."
"That these chains of anxiety are broken." "We declare that that peace that surpasses all understanding." "It comes to our hearts, Lord." "We declare that we will not receive thoughts of anxiety or stress." "We will only receive thoughts of peace." "That come only from you God." "We pray in the name of Jesus." "Maybe you are here this morning." "And you feel like you've never had that true peace." "If you want to surrender your life to Christ today..." "Simply repeat this simple and humble prayer." "And say heavenly Father..." "Today I surrender my entire life." "I believe that you died on the cross from each easily." "And you resurrected so that I could live." "And come into my heart." "Forgive me." "And as I serve you and follow you..." "May I have that peace." "That frees me from these worries." "In the name of Jesus I pray." Thank you so much for watching the message.
