And I know that I am his son, and I only know, and I only know that he is my father, and my father once again. And I know that I am his son, and I only know, and I only know that he is my father, and my father once again. Around 385 AD, there was a teenager living a pretty normal life in Britain. He had a family. He had a home. He had a future ahead of him. But then one day, everything got ripped away. He was kidnapped, taken from everyone he loved, and shipped off to a foreign land as a slave. Sixteen years old, no say in the matter, just gone. For six years, he worked as a shepherd, alone, outside, in the cold. No real future he could see, just him in the fields, and a whole lot of silence.
But here's what happened in that silence. He found God. Or maybe more accurately put, God found him. He started praying. Not because a pastor told him to, not because it was Sunday, but because he absolutely had nothing else. And the truth is, sometimes God uses the hardest seasons of our lives to get our full attention. Eventually, he escaped. He made it back home, back to his family. He was involved in his local church that discipled him and helped him grow in his faith for years, until one day, he had a dream. Go back. Go back to the place that enslaved you. Go back to the place where people took everything from you. Not with anger, not to get even, but to tell them about Jesus. Because of that obedience. Because one person said yes to something hard and uncomfortable. An entire nation heard the gospel, and Ireland was transformed. We know this man today as St. Patrick. And every March 17th, the whole world remembers him. But here's what we should sit with today. God didn't use a perfect person with a perfect story. He used someone who had been through something. Someone who got knocked down and met God in the middle of it. Someone who was willing to go back when everything in him probably said don't. You have a role in God's mission too. Maybe it's not a foreign country. Maybe it's your neighborhood, your job, the church you're already a part of, the city you already live in. The opportunity is closer than you think. In 1945, shortly after the end of World War II, a 22-year-old soldier from the United States,
his name was John, took paper and pencil from Germany to write to his mother. It was an important letter. He was in the middle of the war and wanted to let her know how he was doing. It wasn't a historical letter. It wasn't a letter announcing the end of the war. It didn't contain any secret information. It was just a son trying to calm his mother down. You can imagine the heart of a mother at a distance, beating every day, waiting for her son to come back. And you can imagine him sitting in a military barrack, far from home, thinking about her. He begins to write. He tells her that he received his letters. He tells her that everything is fine. He even jokes about the food he's eating in that place. And at the end he writes a very simple sentence. He says, I hope to see you soon. Soon. He folds the letter. She finishes it, puts her important seal on it, writes the address to send it, delivers it to the military post office, and in the process, she continues with her life, convinced that in a few days, maybe in a few weeks, probably in a few months, the mother will read that letter, those important words that were born from her heart. But the letter never arrived.
Days passed, months passed, years passed, the war ended, it was left behind. John returned home, thank God. He worked, he formed a family, and he had children, he had grandchildren, his mother died, John aged, and finally died in 2015, the other days. And the letter was still lost. 76 years later, in 2021, postal service workers found an old man who was forgotten in a processing center. I'd kill them, I'd say. He still had the address, he still had the message, they began to investigate where this was from, and finally, they found the family. And when the letter arrived at the door of the house, the mother to whom it was addressed had been dead for decades. The young soldier who had written it had also died. It was John's widow who opened the envelope. 76 years later. Imagine that moment, right? With old ink. And the words of a 22-year-old boy returning to life from the past. Mom, he says, I'm fine. I hope to see you soon. And while I was reading this story, I couldn't stop thinking about something.
The letter is real. The love was real. The intention was real. The message was sent, but it arrived too late. Too late. Some of you who wrote letters 20 years ago, and it took two weeks, three weeks. In 1860, long before the World War, there was a concept called Pony Express, which was basically, before the Internet, telephone, email, WhatsApp, everything that reached an important message could take, in this case, days, weeks, or months. That started in 1860, and riders from Missouri, here in the United States, would ride up to California, 2,000 miles, in 10 days. To be able to send letters, the loved one, I hope it didn't rain, there was no storm, could open it. Imagine the emotion of receiving a letter 10 days that you didn't expect, 10 days later, 15 days later. But that idea lasted 18 months, because the telephone made it obsolete from night to morning. And still, the telephone wasn't as fast as it is today. And you think, how difficult it was to communicate before. It was a uphill battle, I mean. Now, I told my son who arrived from the camp,
why didn't you call me, didn't you miss me? The kids were at the camp. He said, I missed you, I didn't have time. Incredible, right? You raise them, right? For others. But here's the curious thing. Before, the message took weeks to arrive. Today, it arrives in seconds, but it doesn't often reach the heart. A letter that opens after 10 days, or maybe in this case, 70-odd years, it does reach the heart. There are people with notifications all day, but without a person asking them for real, how are you really? Even when I was looking for this information, trying to understand, the American Psychiatric Association, in 2024, indicates that 30% of adults in the United States felt lonely at least once a year. at least once a week, only, at least once a week, incredible 10% feel alone every day, and maybe the screen is not working for me, no it's supposed to be running there 10% feel alone every day, that's a little over two years ago We live in the most connected generation in history, but we are a deeply lonely generation We are hyper-connected, but little accompanied We have all seen this, a table full of people, but each one looking at their phone A bus full of people, but each one looking at their phone In the break times of work, everyone ready to have a break and be able to talk to each other, but everyone looking at what?
They are together, but not necessarily accompanied There is noise, but not always, there is presence, there is the present And sometimes the soul feels exactly as I am talking today, surrounded by people, but alone inside Now, it is not the quick question of corridors When we enter a place, we arrive with the family, or maybe we enter the lobby here We are all trained to ask a question to the heart, I say, I hope, or we will work in that area All right? We ask that, all right, yes, yes, everything is fine, yes, everything is quiet, quiet, says my country, quiet We cut the words and everything to try to say less Glory to God, we say, all right But I think I mean the question that looks at the eyes, the necessary at this time When I look at your eyes and I ask you here that you are present Because the question is not how much you know, the question is how are you that really The question is who knows your soul, who knows your heart Because there are people who do not need another event or another beautiful phrase They need someone to look for them, someone to approach them They need someone to remind them, you do not have to carry this alone Here are people, people around you who must walk with you, who walk with you And that is exactly what we see in I Thessalonians chapter 3 In these last weeks we have seen Pablo send a letter How long did it take to send the letter from where Filippo Pablo was to Thessaloniki? How much? On the bus it is like two and a half hours But on horseback, walking in a car, maybe several days He writes this letter and we have worked on it And in this chapter my heart has been captured a lot Because he writes a letter to this person and a nascent church A person with persecution but he clearly showed that he loved her He is under pressure but he cannot stay calm There is something beating in his heart He was worried about the faith of people he loves The church, listen to me well
The church was not designed to be a meeting Where people come, sit and leave alone It was not designed for that The church is a spiritual family It is a spiritual family, the faith is not taken care of alone The church is there to work together as a team You cannot say my faith is my faith The faith is not taken care of alone, we need each other Tell the person next to you, I need you I need you, tell him But with conviction, I need you No, no, something well done We are talking serious today One arrives on Sunday and begins the official Christian protocol God bless you brother, God bless you, blessed How are you? In victory And from there nothing else happens See you next Sunday, thank you And so the year goes by And one says in victory in a face that seems to have lost three wars Two battles, even the password of the bank I am in victory, in victory I'm fine. I'm surviving with coffee. That should be the answer. The grace of God and a 3% emotional battery. That's honesty. That's reality. I'm not saying that every Sunday I should be like this. Every Sunday with a 3% emotional battery, something is happening in the week.
But we have to be honest with each other. Real with each other. And here, clearly, what Pablo is working on was not an empty testimony. It was a sign of emergency with people who needed to hear his heart. The church cannot be like the gym in January. Good people together, good intentions, but no one knows if the other will come back next week. It can't be like that. When someone is missing, it should be noticeable. When someone goes out, it's noticeable. When someone is tired, someone comes closer. It's not like at a distance, in faith, you can't take care of yourself. You can't take care of yourself. Here's the first point. Faith needs someone to look for you. Maybe today God wants to heal lonely hearts in this place. Or maybe those who watch us on the internet, even from prisons. Who feel alone. He says in these verses, and I'm going to highlight some verses. I'm not going to work on all 12 verses. When we couldn't take it anymore, we sent Timotheo, our brother and God's collaborator in the Gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you regarding your faith. When we couldn't take it anymore, we sent Timotheo, our brother and God's collaborator in the Gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you regarding your faith.
When we couldn't take it anymore, we sent Timotheo, our brother and God's collaborator in the Gospel of Christ, to strengthen and encourage you regarding your faith. Timotheo doesn't come with lights, a microphone, or a campaign. He comes with presence. Sometimes the most powerful ministry, listen carefully, the most powerful doesn't happen on the platform. This is beautiful, but it doesn't happen here. It happens when someone approaches and says, I am here with you. That is to be a church, a church. The original word, church meeting, is to be a church, that is, I am here with you. Sometimes a person doesn't need another sermon, not even seven verses per WhatsApp. The last video of the moment, the seven verses. And how beautiful when in our WhatsApp groups, there are groups of men, women, we send each other morning sermons, evening sermons, motivational words, but many times there is someone who needs to sit next to you and tell the person, you don't have to explain everything now, but you are not alone, you are not alone. I am with you. Sometimes a person moves away from the church, not because he stopped believing suddenly, but because he left with a tiredness in silence. And what God uses to bring her back is not a great event. Let's make the event to bring the community, that is beautiful, it can be done,
but many times a simple call and tell her, I haven't seen you in a while. I've been thinking about you. I've been praying for you. How are you? But the question is, how are you really?
Hace tiempo no te veo, ¿cómo estás?
No, no, no, no, siguen firmes.
A ver. Dependiendo de tu emoción del día. But on the inside, you can put a happy face with a smile on the left. But really, it's supposed to not be there, to have the face of tears. A while ago, someone sent me, I made the big mistake of putting something sad on the second face. I thought I was crying. And I received a text saying, and why is this? You are happy with my sadness. Even the communication. With a lot of care. My ignorance. It was a mistake. I put it fast. It wasn't from the heart. But we use it to express our emotions. That didn't exist in the letter that was sent from the Second World War. It didn't exist in 1840, maybe, when they came on horseback from Missouri to California. But it exists today. We send the face with the sweat, when we don't know how to say that something hurts. We send the hand of prayer, when on the inside we don't even know how to pray. We send the strong hand, which is not there. I put it sometimes.
A strong hand, when we don't have strength. Because it's easier to send an emoji, than to say the truth. Than to say what is really in the heart. And that's how someone can be in the church every Sunday. And be completely alone on the inside. He comes with tiredness, with discouragement, with questions. What to do next? Nobody notices. God doesn't listen to me. And nobody notices. The invisible war is to keep saying Amen. But on the inside you are losing faith. The invisible war is to keep boiling, but on the inside you are resentful. The invisible war is to keep singing, but on the inside you are exhausted. It's like a house that looks beautiful on the outside. The appearance, the painting is fine, the garden is fixed, but on the inside there is humidity. There is a crack. There is something growing. And sooner or later, the inside affects the outside. That's how it happens with the soul. These days, two weeks ago, Marisol noticed a stain on the second floor of water. To fix that, you have to paint the whole second floor. Or at least put a good spray to cover it. But if one thing looks newer than the other, it's a problem. But the problem wasn't the stain. The problem was going up to the attic and finding an air-conditioned drain. And when you fix the drain a little, you don't put a bucket underneath and say, I'm going to fix it for at least 24 hours. 24 hours later, the bucket was filled so much that it completely turned over and damaged a wall. But because it was done in a hurry, it made it look good.
And when everything was finally being fixed, thank you Pastor Ramon, I don't want to make a commercial of Pastor Ramon now, we realized that the source of the original problem was that in the air-conditioned drain there was no longer enough coolant. That we had to change certain parts. And it all started at the root. And the root was the heart of the air-conditioned drain. And for that reason, it was reflected internally. And little by little it was growing. And even fungus came out of a wall that didn't want fungus to come out. And that's our life. Not to work those things from the heart, which little by little is seen externally. You came to this place. And you came to the best place, because it's the place where you can be genuine in front of God. And I've said this before and I want to repeat it again. This is the hospital of sinners. This is the place where you enter if you are embraced, you are valued, valued. This is the place where you find yourself in front of God. And God says to you, welcome home. I also tell you. This is not for those religious saints. The word holy means to separate for God. It doesn't mean total perfection. It means, Lord, I separate for you. In the midst of my weaknesses, in the midst of my struggles, but you have to bring it from the root, which is the heart. Identify those things that carry you. We all have a backpack entering this place. Some are small, some are large, some less loaded,
others more loaded. But here, Pablo teaches me clearly that in this world we will have what? Affliction. Here we are not in the church with the sign outside that exists in other places, in Hollywood specifically, when I lived for several years, that says, stop suffering, come in and stop suffering. Unfortunately, you got to the place where it says, come in, open your heart and keep suffering with me. We walk in victory, but we know that in this world you will have what? But I have overcome what? The world. Everyone comes in here with a load on their hearts. And we give it to the Lord. Small bags, large bags. I would like two people here, strong and colorful. Come here for a moment. Strong and colorful. I chose them strong and colorful, I say. But precisely because, look at all these bags, no one has touched them yet. Here are two important sizes. This is empty. Why is he going to load it if it is empty? But one of the two has to carry this, and one of the two has to carry this. This represents who you are. It probably represents your burdens. It's probably easy for you.
It's probably difficult for you to carry it. But I think you're going to have to help each other sooner or later. What's going to happen here? You choose, which one are you going to choose? The big one or the small one? The small one. How smart you are. The smaller, the less burden. But if this is emptier than this, how do you know? Size doesn't deceive us. It doesn't deceive you with appearances, brothers and sisters. Someone can come in through these doors with a big smile on their face, but a deep sadness in their heart. But anyway, carry it, but be careful not to hurt your back. Do I trust you? Really? Then I'm going to ask someone else to come through here. It has to be strong and colorful. I'm choosing men because this is... Can someone else come through here? You're going to take this burden and you're going to pass it to him because you're going to lean on each other, okay? With a lot of tact and care. And each one of you is going to pass their burdens, some of them maybe softer than others, but we all have something. Do it, show him how it can be done easily
to the whole church, please. Easily. Yes, sir, you can carry it. Put it on. Put it on the back. Yes, yes, yes, put it on. The other one, please. How heavy do you think Omar's burden is? Very heavy. Do you think? Sometimes it can be that it is, sometimes it's not. Experience can't fool you. Which one do you prefer, that one or this one? The big one. The big one? Really? Then give him the big one here. Give him the big one, please. How is that? Sometimes life feels like this, stay with me for a moment. At first you say, I can. And you carry a worry, then a wound, then a temptation, then a disappointment, then spiritual fatigue. And there comes a time when the person doesn't stop loving God, he just doesn't have the strength anymore. You could carry that all day long for yourself. Tell him, really. Why? Do you know how much that weighs?
Give an estimate. 60 pounds? No, a little more. There are two 35-pound weights each, there are 70 pounds there. I'll take away the name if everyone can easily carry it for an hour. But if he approaches and shares that burden, how is the matter going to work? Come a little closer. Look for a way to help each other. I don't know what you're going to do, but you have to do something to share. That's where prayer becomes so powerful. Prayer carries what the person doesn't have the strength to carry anymore. I love prayer, walking. Prayer is a way to carry the other. This is what happens when someone intercedes. I'm going to carry this with you in front of God. Walk a little bit around there. Walk, walk. I'm going to mention your name when you have no words to say. I'm going to ask God for strength when you don't know what to ask for. Did Jesus do this with Peter? Before Peter denied Jesus, Jesus had already prayed for him. Simon, Simon, look at how Satan has claimed him for wheat. But I have prayed for you so that your faith does not fail. How many Peters are we going to see here? Sarandiar means to shake, destabilize, get out of balance, shake inside. And Peter thought he was stronger than he was. Why did they leave him there? It was until the end. Give them a round of applause. You can take a seat. Thank you very much.
I have prayed for you. That was the example. I have prayed for you. I stand in the gap, but Peter did not give up because he was strong. Peter was restored because Christ interceded for him. And there are still people who remain firm because someone refused to stop praying. Here I have seen miracles because there are people who do not stop praying for a loved one. Here are people praying for beings who are detained. Here are people praying for beings who are sick. Here are people praying for beings who need work. Here are people praying for beings who are discouraged. A mother, a father, do not stop praying. A friend, a leader, a grandmother with knees marked by prayer. Who has your prayer? Think about it. You can say, I know this person is praying for me. I know this person has me in his mind. Not only your greeting. Who has your intercession? You do not have to count on everyone. I'm not saying that. But if you need someone who can say, I'm going to pray with you. I'm going to walk with you. There are battles that you can not win alone. Keep that in mind. That is why God gave you others around. So Paul does not stay here. He prays for love to grow. A living faith always becomes love. And the last point. The mature faith produces a love that does not stop growing. It does not stop. It says that the Lord makes them grow and abound in love. One for others and for all. To grow and abound.
Not to have some love. More or less. To grow. To abound. To overflow. Love begins in the family of faith. But it does not end there. I see this as a puddle. That only picks up what falls on top. It does not look. It does not move. It stays where it is. Versus a river that searches, moves, serves, forgives. It does not lack. It reaches dry places. Christian love is not a puddle. It is a river. There is a picture I want you to see. A puddle, sooner or later, turns green. It produces frogs. It produces algae. It produces a lot of things that you say, I never drink water from here. No, this is stagnant water. How many have gone to a river? I grew up near, or not near, but I went to a river in Puerto Rico with cousins. And I walked in the mountains and I'm thirsty. At that time, you did not have to carry bottles of water. A river, let's go, let's go. And we follow our path.
Why? Because we follow the water that continues, that flows. That is life. We are rivers of what? Of living water. Because we follow Jesus. Give Jesus a big round of applause. Because you can get to know Jesus. ...mucha doctrina y amar poco. Puedes saber mucho versículo y no escuchar a nadie.
No somos hermanos. Desde Génesis, el ser humano se esconde. Adán culpa a Eva.
Y si hoy necesitas volver a Cristo, puedes volver ahora mismo. Puedes volver a Él.
I can take you even further and tell you that the same enemy, Satan, could say that I am a Christian to try to damage the reputation of the same Jesus. That is why I say today that I want to follow Him in black and white, clearly as the Word tells us and leads us. Direct, simple, if today is your day, don't leave here, talk to someone, to a leader, raise your hand, come closer to the altar. And while I was finishing, I thought at this time, I'm going to do something that I did several weeks ago once again. And you are going to have to prepare to do that every time I feel like it. Sorry. Everyone who came last Wednesday to walk in prayer, here in the community, I ask you to come here in front for a moment. Because we are going to prepare to pray for our congregation. There was a group that went out to walk last Wednesday in the community, and look what happened. Because there are times when one says, I get scared, I can't go, I can't go, I don't dare. Look what happened. And with this, I want you to capture the heart. One does not know what to expect when one surrenders to Jesus to do His will. And when we were walking, I told the group, beautiful things may happen, that one says, I take it as a testimony,
as it may be that nothing happens visually, but God is working when we are ready to pray. We were going house by house, two groups were divided, and at the moment, a man, not very smelly, gets out of his car and is going to be ready to enter his home, and two men approach, one picked up his bag here, his backpack, and he is trying to communicate in English at that moment, I approach and at the moment we ask, what is your name, Tim? Tim, greetings, Tim. Where do you come from to work? Tim, how can we pray for you? And he says, to pray for me? No, nothing, everything is fine? Ok, ok. And at the moment he looks back like this, and he is looking at the door to see if someone comes out, and I realized that image of connection with the entrance, and it was going through his mind, his heart, and it came out again, saying, Tim, really? How can we pray for you? I mean, it's simple, don't worry, don't feel any pressure, but if there is something there that you want us to pray, let's pray. And at the moment, he sheds tears. And he says, yesterday they diagnosed my mother with terminal cancer 4. Thank you for coming here to pray for me. Do you see how it is, the appearance versus the originality, the honesty, and with what God can do when we give up, we always put an initial barrier, and then say, no, this is really me. I am naked in front of God.
Because he could have said something to me, but God sees everything. God sees your heart, He sees my heart. We pray for him, the tears, we hug, but as if we have known each other for a long time, the team hugged him there. We say goodbye, and we go close to the area, we sing, we pray, people walking, we say, can we pray for you? We pray like this, very spontaneous. We pray for people. It was beautiful. And when he left, this is what captured my heart the most, that I want you to take today. When we go out walking, this person, Tim, we only saw him for 3 to 5 minutes. At a distance from the balcony, he says these words that I will not forget. Thank you very much. And he says, I love you. I love you. I love you guys. How can someone say I love you in 5 minutes? I love you. If it is not God touching the heart. If it is not God touching the heart. God touches the heart. And at this moment, we are going to break all the barriers that we often have. And they will go wherever they go. Or maybe you can approach some.
And when they ask you, how are you? And how can I pray for you? What are you going to do? Say, I'm fine. Pray for God to bless me. Yes? That's beautiful. Or maybe you're going to say, pray for me. Precisely because today was the day that I was going to take a shower. It can be a decision, or it can be what's in your heart. But let it be genuine, and that the prayer can really reach the throne of grace, and God create an impact in your life today. And you're not going to get out of here the same way, because you've broken every barrier that you've raised in front of God, the one who knows you by your name, and who knows each one of your hairs, counting each one of them. What if you put yourself on your feet with me, and let God minister your heart in this afternoon? Don't leave this place without being touched by the power of God. And this is the last thing I'm going to tell you. Maybe they don't pray for everyone today. If you need a prayer, you're going to come, because you're not going to let this opportunity go. But when they move, this is the prayer I want from you. You, Lord, Holy Spirit, show me who to pray with right now. I want you to walk in the Spirit, not the person that you like right now. You're going to walk in the Spirit with the person who approaches you.
You're going to believe by faith and by God, that this is the person in whom God has given you a divine appointment now, to pray and minister from the bottom of your heart. Let's do it. Lord, use us at this hour in the mighty name of Jesus. And while we sing and worship and respond, may each prayer reach the throne of grace, and may we see a profound impact in the heart of those who need and are thirsty for you today. In the name of Jesus, let's all go, then, and move to every place that needs our prayer. With you, I always want to be To contemplate your glory For eternity All I want is to worship you All I want is to worship you I come at your feet to give my heart All I want is to please you All I want is to please you Forever I will sing of your love And love that rescued me That cleansed me Give me eternal life Your blood opens the way And it will never be closed I have freedom I have freedom I have freedom With you, I always want to be To contemplate your glory
For eternity All I want is to worship you All I want is to worship you I come at your feet to give my heart All I want is to please you All I want is to please you Forever I will sing of your love And love that rescued me That cleansed me Give me eternal life Your blood opens the way 🎶
