Keeping the Fire in Your Marriage | Living Your Love Story (Part 7)
Clayton King joins us to kick off part two of the Living Your Love Story series. He dives into Song of Solomon 7 and 8, detailing how Solomon and his bride stayed in love for the course of their marriage. The example of this couple gives practical steps for keeping the fire in your marriage.
Falling in love is just the beginning. Walking in love for a lifetime is the real treasure. How do you practice walking in love and keeping the fire alive in your marriage?
1.) Stoke the flames.
Love requires your head, heart, and hands. You have to think about your spouse’s needs, put effort into the relationship, and guard your heart against growing callous.
2.) Keep flirting.
Your words and actions have the potential to encourage or destroy your spouse. Pay attention and show affection to them regularly!
3.) Find the time for fun.
When you find yourself bored or busy, break the pattern! Try a new restaurant, take a trip, or explore a new hobby. Keeping the fire in your marriage requires intentionality, but it should be fun to pursue your spouse.
Join Clayton King as he shares practical tips from the Song of Solomon for walking in love and keeping the fire in your marriage!
