INCARCERATED fathers meeting their families for the FIRST TIME since INCARCERATION!

In a powerful and emotional moment, God Behind Bars hosted its first-ever family reunification event inside a Virginia prison, reuniting 16 incarcerated fathers with their families — including 26 children — for an unforgettable day of love, healing, and restoration.

For the first time in years, some families were able to hug, laugh, play games, share a meal, and pray together in person. From playing sports on the yard to sharing tears of joy, this was more than a visit — it was a sacred moment of connection and hope.

One of the most touching highlights: each incarcerated father gave their child a Bible, many for the very first time. These weren’t just any Bibles — inside each one, the fathers wrote handwritten letters, sharing the message of Jesus Christ, and encouraging their children to grow in their faith journey.
