What do you do when God doesn’t show up the way you expected?

In this powerful conclusion to our “I Am, Therefore I Am” series, we explore Jesus’ final “I Am” statement from John 11: *“I am the Resurrection and the Life.”* Spoken in the midst of grief, loss, and disappointment, these words reveal the heart of God toward us in our deepest suffering.

We see that Jesus is not absent in our pain—He weeps with us, He gets angry at the effects of sin and death, He brings transcendent good we can’t yet see, and He offers grace that changes everything.

Through the story of Lazarus, we discover that Jesus doesn’t just interrupt our lives—He wants to disrupt them in the best way possible, replacing despair with hope and death with life.

Suffering is one of life’s greatest challenges—and often the biggest reason people walk away from faith. In John 11, Jesus shows us that He doesn’t stand at a distance from our pain. Instead:

* He **weeps** with us, sharing in our sorrow.

* He gets **angry** at what sin and death have done to His creation.

* He brings **transcendent good** beyond our understanding.

* He extends **grace** that makes eternal life possible.

In Christ, death doesn’t get the last word.
