I Am at Peace With Things I Should Be at War With

Let's all stand together. God is amazing. Amen. Thank you, choir. Thank you, Mo. What a blessing to see what God is doing. We're so thankful that you're here today. For those that are watching around the country and around the world, we want to just let you know that we're in the middle of just getting ready for a blizzard, but we've promised the church we will always be open, at least for one service, and then we're going to get you home. So there's never, let me just remind you, there is never an issue for is there, are they going to have service on Sunday. If it is 50 inches of snow, I'm just telling you, I will be here. I'm just telling you, I'm going to be here. How many, how many will try to be here? Okay, just wait, hold up your hands for a second. Would you just look around how crazy this place is? Look at your neighbor and just go, are you out of your mind? And just say, yes, I am. I have to ask this. I wanted to do this today. How many received an email, a text message that the 1 p.m. was canceled? Would you raise your hand? Wonderful. Okay, if you didn't, I want to encourage you, we may need updated information. I usually don't do these housekeeping things, but I wanted to do this one. I am confident this is what I'm supposed to speak on today. There's a verse that, there's something that Andrew Murray said, the great Scottish writer on prayer. He said these words. He says, God is ready to assume full responsibility for the life that is totally yielded to him. God is ready to assume full responsibility for the life that is totally yielded. I wanna be a life like that.

Let me keep that up on the screen for a second. God is ready to assume full responsibility for the life that is totally yielded to him. I wanna talk to you about a journey I'm on and how it started with the noon prayer meeting. I'm gonna refer to the noon prayer meeting, the things and the things that God has been speaking to me about surrender. And the very thing that God began to speak to me about surrender is he, I felt that God began to speak these words. He said, do not, or let me say this. I don't wanna be at peace with things I should be at war with. Let me say those words again. I felt the Lord said, do not be at peace with things that you should be at war with. And so today it is going to be a call to battle. I'm gonna challenge you and as I'm walking through this journey, there's a verse I kept thinking about. The Bible says for if the trumpet gives an uncertain sound, who shall prepare himself for battle? And so today I'm gonna pray that the trumpet sound is very clear today. Let's pray. Father, in these next few moments, to every university, to every state in the US, to all the nations that are watching, let this trumpet sound be clear today.

God, I know what you're speaking to me and I pray that somehow you would take my words and let me articulate it correctly. Father, I just thank you, Father, for what you have said, what you're going to do. And Lord, I believe today you are calling us to battle. You're calling us to a new place, to strap on the arm, do something powerful today in Jesus' name. And everybody said, amen. I have to do this. I know this is probably not the best thing to get ready for a message. Willie, I have to announce it to everybody. Willie and his wife, they've been in this now over a year. They're pregnant, having a baby boy. So we're so excited. So what a blessing, be praying for them and just praying that God would use them. Give someone just a handshake and you may be seated. And then we're gonna get started. Thanks, guys. It's a call to battle today. I do not wanna be, I felt the challenge was I am at peace with things I should be at war with. I am at peace with things that I should be at war with. There is no second service. So right now there is no time clock. Let me just tell you that right now. Just letting you know. So here we go.

Today, the 2026 Winter Olympics will officially close. The 25th Winter Olympics that are held in Italy and Milan has coming to their conclusion today. And one of the things that caught my attention was an odd thing. I was watching one of the events on skis and I was riveted to something that was very odd to me. It was the Australian team. On their coats, this turquoise coat and this yellow writing, there was the Olympic, they had the Olympic rings on there. And then what was odd to me is that at the end of each of those rings, they had two animals. They had an emu and then they had a kangaroo. It was some of the oddest things. Like everybody else is going sponsored by Visa and everything else. They have a kangaroo and an emu. And I found something that they brought those over from their coat of arms that represents their nation. It is brilliant what the Australians have done. And I say this to those that are watching right now from Australia, live with us. Those animals were chosen for a specific reason. They share a characteristic. I'm not sure that any other animal has this characteristic, but the emu and the kangaroo. And the reason why that they put those two on there is for this. Neither of those animals can move backwards. They can only go forwards.

The emu has a three-footed claw that it's impossible. If it tries to go backwards, it falls. And the kangaroo's tail prohibits it from going backwards. What a great symbol for us as the body of Christ. To see those two animals that represents that nation that says, we will not go backwards, but we shall go forwards. May God help us. It stood out to me based upon this journey and these decisions that God keeps presenting before me. And seeing it with the prayer meeting and the Olympics that were happening, especially with the noon prayer meeting. I knew that there was a no going back when we said yes to the noon prayer meeting. Stan made reference to that, that I kept saying, we will pray until Christ comes. We will pray. That I knew when we said yes to this noon prayer meeting is that it was going to be to the rapture of the saints. A lot of what God is doing in me has been happening with this noon prayer meeting. Two weeks of it I know has only been going on, but much of it has been leading up to it. Two weeks ago, Pastor Carter called me and asked me how the first noon prayer meeting went. And I told him, I said, it had to be one of the most powerful services I've ever been in. I said music was 90 seconds.

I spoke for 90 seconds. And the rest was hearing from the Holy Spirit. It is a prayer meeting. It's not music. It's not speaking. It is a prayer meeting. And let the people of New York City pray. The only other meeting that affected me like these noon prayer meetings, there's only one other meeting that had such a profound effect on me. I'm so thankful that every time we get together, we sense the Spirit of God. But how many know that sometimes something deep happens inside? One of those happened around two or three years ago. We did it once, and I'm not saying we'll never do it again, but I'm so careful to make what was so powerful to become something so common. I've asked this question many times in this place. I've said, if you've not been born in America, and I've asked people, I've said, would you stand on your feet? And I'm gonna say, almost every service, 80% of this congregation has not been born in this nation. They've come from all over the world. I'll just ask it right now. If you've not been born in America, would you raise your hand? If you've not been born, look around you.

Look at all the hands around you. You can put them down. It's, and for those that are watching online, it's 75, almost 80% of this congregation was born in a different nation from around the world. We did something after the choir sang something like this. It could have been even what the song that Mo sang on So Amazing, but we felt God's presence move in such a powerful way. Everybody was standing and worshiping, and I asked the church to do this. I said, would you begin to take a moment now and just to worship God in the language from the country you were born in? And church, it is emotional to think about what God did that day. For about seven to eight minutes, we heard German and Italian, Spanish and French. We heard Korean and Russian, Ukrainian. We heard Filipino. We heard languages from all over the world, and nothing, nothing was disjointed. It was like being in heaven for seven minutes, listening to every kindred, every nation, every tribe begin to worship them in their own language. It was almost like even the day of Pentecost, as we begin to hear people praising God. That's the way I was touched by this first noon prayer meeting. The presence of God was felt.

When you walked in, you felt a weighty presence. You wanted to pray. You wanted to worship, even cry. I couldn't stop crying. The second week, more tears began to come. But something happened when I came before the prayer meeting. It was the meeting before the meeting. We're asking people to pray and fast on Wednesdays for an awakening in New York City. That's why we haven't put it online for everybody. It is a prayer meeting for this city. You don't have to go to this church, but to pray for this city for an awakening to take place. And right here at 51st and Broad Street. from 12 to 1. I came early to pray as I did on both days and I stopped here at this I was stopped right over there right where our deaf ministry is at and and I had this vision that that God said do you know we could that I could fill every seat in this place in the annex with intercessors all over New York City. I could fill this place with intercessors all over with people crying out for an awakening of the city and this is what I what I felt the Holy Spirit said I can fill every seat but there is a price to pay there is a price to pay this is where the emu and the kangaroo came in because I knew that once we started there was no going back and I knew that there would be a price there'll be a cost in our life on everything we say yes to there'll be a cost that needs to be counted and it's so important to understand that what do I mean by that a cost that needs to be counted for you I felt the Holy Spirit say for leadership this congregation to steward this kind of intercession for this city I want you to listen to this because this is what I felt in prayer in order for there to be a city shaking prayer meeting there will be these things I want you to write these things down there will be these things that will take place I'm going to say if you don't want these things please don't come to the noon prayer meeting stay and eat it's just so much easier but if you want a city shaking prayer meeting there will be number one I felt the Holy Spirit said there will be astonishing confession that will

take place things that have been hidden will come to light number two there'll be relentless conviction of the Holy Spirit I don't know that must it's a misspell it's relentless conviction of the Holy Spirit but I want you to understand that the God the Holy Spirit will be so involved with your life that he will constantly continue to come things that for lack of better words things that would you could get away with saying a facial expression even a snide remark the Holy Spirit will come and convict you there'll be a relentlessness of the Holy Spirit that will not allow it to go on if if you're willing to pay the price which means there'll be intense there'll be intense conflict that will come this is the conflict that will come from outside this will be the fight of the enemy that will come to try to shut it down there will be that astonishing confession that God doesn't want anything in the dark there'll be relentless conviction that God will begin to speak to clean our hearts out but there'll be those two things will allow us to face the conflict I remember yesterday Pastor Carter was communicating with me and he just goes what will you guys do with the snow storm and everything that's happening I said well you know we talked about on Tuesday we'll be here he says this is just a dry run what he told me he says this is just a rehearsal for the battles that are coming he said if you can't make it through the snow you're not going to make it through the battle and and I said I'm going to be here and and he just says this is this is God challenging the church if we let a snow storm stop us if we let if we let this he said you've got to understand how important this is this is a dry this is a dry run this is a dress rehearsal and not only would there be astonishing confession relentless conviction intense conflict but there will be and we'll rejoice with this there'll be miraculous conversions there'll be people that you have not expected they'll be the ones that you thought it is impossible for them to get saved there is no way anything is going to happen and God will work miracles in people's lives if you're willing to pay the price mark 16 17 says signs will follow those who believe signs will follow those who believe the reason why believers get this now the reason why believers don't see signs and wonders is that in order for something to follow you the person has to be moving okay keep that up because some of you just missed that let me say it again if the bible says signs will follow those who believe the reason why we don't see it is because in order something to follow you you have to be moving forward you have to say yes to the things that God is asking us to say yes to and that's why this new prayer meeting is so important whatever it may be it could be

chapter by chapter it could be coming to the to the worldwide prayer meeting on wednesday night whatever that means going to bible school whatever that is God will challenge us i just received a testimony that came into my office about chapter by chapter and the person was writing to to me and said i'm not sure how much space i have but i've been following tsc and the sermons for some time love the teaching love the worship and this is the part that blessed me he said i've been following the chapter by chapter podcast since day one and now capital letters He wrote this. Now, for the first time in my Christian walk with Christ, I was able to read an entire book of the Bible. Now folks, that may not mean much to you. That meant much to Daniel. That said, I finally got through a book of the Bible. He said, I considered it a huge accomplishment. He said, from the podcast, it has helped me. I look forward to it. He said, it's the first thing I do when I wake up. It ministers to me, then I try to apply it to my life. And then, I love this, he just goes, I'm so thankful. He says, I'm getting ready now to get through the next book. You know what happened with this young man, Daniel? Daniel had to move forward and say yes to something for that sign and wonder to take place. Because that sign and wonder doesn't always just simply mean healing of a disease. It could be getting through a book of the Bible. It could be something so simple. For Daniel, it was a chapter by chapter, the sign and wonder being the first book he's ever gone through. And I just tell Daniel, there's more to come

when you say yes to God. The verse that I read at our noon prayer meeting was this. Now, Lord, do it again. Restore us to our former glory. If you can put that on the screen behind me, please. Now, Lord, do it again. Restore us to our former glory. May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our hearts, our dry hearts, are drenched again. Look at that phrase again. Refresh us, flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again. There is a cost for that refreshing flow. And the cost is not simply there'll be more work and more meetings to show up, but it is a depth and a conviction. When God begins to come and drench our hearts again, it doesn't just simply mean you get more of God in the condition that you're in. Let me say that again. When we ask God to drench our hearts, it's not that we get more of God in the condition that we are in. It means you will go to war with things that you have been at peace at. Let me read this again. Go back to the slide right before that. Thank you. Drench our hearts again does not mean you get more God in the condition you're in.

It means you will go to war with things you've been at peace with. You will feel differently. I saw it at the prayer meeting. I saw it, one of our staff people came over to me and just said, I said, why are you crying? And she said to me, she said, I have to tell you a story. As she was reading the names on the screen, she said, I was on that screen about five years ago. Five years ago, I was on a screen at a prayer meeting because I was sick, physically sick. And this church prayed for me five or six years ago. And here I am today, healed and working at this church. It's been a miracle. And like, this feeling came. It wasn't just a prayer meeting to her. Something began to live inside of her. She'll feel that she felt differently in the presence of God. In fact, you'll hear things differently. I was talking to one of our security people and there was a groan and a cry in this place. And I watched him shook as he came over to me. And he says, Pastor Tim, I was going over to stop it. And he said, until I realized it was from the Holy Spirit. Now folks, when we have a service, do we see disruptions and things that happen and we have to put a stop to it? But there was something that God began to make his ears tentative to what God was doing.

Not only will you feel differently, you'll hear things differently and you'll even speak differently. I was talking to Ricardo when we ended the prayer meeting. He sang a song for 60 seconds, 60 seconds. And then he just walked off the stage and he just said, Pastor Tim, I couldn't say anything. I didn't want anything to be said because all of a sudden, God will change every part of us, everything inside of us. And it's counting that cost. When my daughter asked me, if you're excited about the noon prayer meeting, I couldn't articulate it. I just simply said to her, I'm nervous about it, is what I told her as we were sitting, eating dinner together the night before. I said, and I couldn't articulate what that meant until I came and prayed over here at the side of the stage. I remember six years ago, putting my head on the side of the stage when the Lord called us to open up, open up the, while everyone was opening up, trying to open up the doors of their church during COVID, God spoke to me and said, open up every door around the world. Don't worry about the front doors. Open up every nation around the world. And I was sitting here on the stage and literally three months before we were to open up,

I remember looking at a stage up here and none of it was here. There was just a blank stage. There was no technology. There was nothing here. And what we were. told by officials is that all the boats are stuck because they weren't docking in the docks here because of COVID. And I remember putting my head on that stage going, what did I just do? Did I even hear from you, Holy Spirit? And folks, I'm telling you, literally with one month left, somehow every boat came in, everything was provided. They told us, you got stuff that other people didn't even get because of COVID, that God just goes, when you listen to me, I'll do it. It may not be when you want it to happen, but I'll show up every single time. And I felt that God said the same thing to me. He says, in order for this to happen, you've got to be all in. It's going to be a fight because there cannot be any options to this. I know the demands of the Holy Spirit upon my life. I know the trumpet call that's coming to me. I know what's happening, and it's going to happen to us as a church. Some years ago, a little blue and white tract fell into my hands that a man that has had a significant impact on my life and Pastor Carter's life gave to us. His name was Leonard Ravenhill. I had to resurface and find. A tract is not a word that's familiar today. It was used decades ago, just a small pamphlet, distribution, and usually very evangelistic. This one was not evangelistic. It was just two pages, and it was like a sledgehammer that came. I want you to write down what the title of this was. This is what it was called. It was called Others May, and You Cannot. That was the name of it. I believe it was on the screen, if we can put that up there. Others May, but You Cannot was what that tract by Leonard Ravenhill was. Others May, but You Cannot. I want to read to you what this said and what the writer said some years ago, many years ago, that challenged my heart. This is from Others May, You Cannot. He said these words, You will not be able to follow other people or measure yourself by other Christians, and in many ways you will seem to let other people do things which he will not let you do. Other Christians and ministers who seem very religious and useful may push themselves, pull wires, and work schemes to carry out their plans, but you cannot do it.

If you attempt to do it, you will meet with such failure and rebuke from the Lord as to make you sorely penitent. Others May, You Cannot is the challenge. He says this, Settle it forever, Ravenhill said, that you are to deal directly with the Holy Spirit, and that he is to have the privilege of tying your tongue, O Lord help us, chaining your hand, and closing your eyes in ways that he does not seem to use with others. Now when you are so possessed with the living God that you are in your secret heart, pleased and delighted over this peculiar, personal, private, jealous guardianship and management of the Holy Spirit over your life, you will have found the vestibule of heaven. Folks, this is where he says others, but it's the challenge. Others May, but you cannot. It's a challenge to go deeper in God. It's God speaking to us that he says it's going to cost. It's going to be a price. You're going to have to hear the trumpet once again as a believer. You're going to have to hear the cry from the Holy Spirit. And when God began to speak to my own heart about a new challenge, and a new conviction, and not being at peace with things he wants me to go to war with, I just said, God, I'm going to do it. I'm going to say yes, just give me a few weeks. I said, I'm going to do this, but I'm trying to count the cost of this. That's why this New Testament story that God started to challenge me with is the story that wants to bring me further. I want to just read a couple more passages before we go any further. Let me read these. It's about being at peace with things we should be at war with. Let me read Luke 14. Look at these words. The Bible says, now large crowds were going along with him, and he turned and said to them, he is about to take down the numbers of the crowd. If anyone comes to me and does not have his own father and mother, does not hate his own father and mother, wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple. Whoever doesn't carry his own cross and come after me cannot be my disciple. For which one of you, when he wants to build a tower, does not first sit down and calculate the cost to see if he has enough to complete it. Otherwise, when he had laid a foundation, is not able to finish, all who observe it begin to ridicule him. Here's the verse I want you to see. This man began to build and was not able to finish. Okay, here it comes, verse 31. Or what king, when he sets out to meet another king in battle, will not first sit down and consider whether he is strong enough with 10,000 men

to encounter the one coming with him with 20,000? Or else, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. Don't miss this. He said they started out, this man started out to go to war, and when he realized, by his own eyes, there was double the army coming against him. Instead of going to the fight, he simply said this. Let's begin to have terms of peace. Let me read it to you again. He says, when the one is coming with him with 20,000, he says, while the other is still far away, he sends a delegation and asks for terms of peace. Terms of peace with the one he was supposed to be fighting. So then none of you can be my disciple who does not give up on all of his own possessions. Therefore, salt is good, but if the salt has become tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? It's useless, either for soil or even for the manure pile. It is thrown out, and he who has ears, let him hear. Jesus is about to downsize the crowds by telling them two parables and making some intense statements about a walk with Christ. This is the part where the crowds don't wanna listen to this. This even comes to the modern-day church. It's a challenge for discipleship. It's a challenge to go deeper. It's a challenge to sound a battle cry.

It's a challenge to say, I don't wanna be a Christian just on Sundays, but I'm willing to do it every single day of the week. It's a challenge to say, every relationship belongs to you. It's a challenge to say, God, I'm not choosing a college that I wanna go to. I want you to direct me where you want me to go. It's a challenge to say, just because somebody wants to propose to you, you've gotta know, is God asking me to do this? Is this the right person for me? It's the challenge to deal with our finances, to deal with vacation, it's a challenge, it's there. This is not what modern people want. Many times, Christianity's becoming an appendage to our schedule. We'll slip it in on Sundays when, folks, it has to be our entire lives. We're living in a time where they're saying, add Jesus to your life, when I'm telling you, Jesus has to be our whole life. That's where this thing starts. This is going to begin, a message like this is going to begin to stir hearts, or you're going, let's find another church. Fine. I have to understand, it doesn't, I can just speak for New York City, it doesn't work to be a Christian in this city

unless you're all in. It just doesn't work. I don't know where you live, I don't know what part of the United States you're around, in this city, you've got to be all in, or it just doesn't work. You've got to say, God, you are in charge of my life. I know I may fight a battle. They have 20,000, I don't have that many, but I'm telling you, it doesn't mean I make peace with a culture that is anti-Christ or anti-Scripture. I stand firm in what God has said. A king was going out to battle, and this is where God says, Tim, count the cost for New York City, count the cost for a noon prayer meeting, count the cost for touching the nation. Do you understand, to read those nations and universities, we become a target of the enemy? The result of not counting the cost, listen to this, is that the king did not lose the battle, he made peace with the enemy. He did not lose, he made peace with the very thing he was supposed to be fighting. When you fight, let me just say this, when you walk with Christ, here's what I've learned, the numbers are always against you. How many know that to be true? When you walk with Christ,

there will always be more against us. Counting the cost for this king was him realizing I can't win this battle the natural way, with natural weapons and resources, it's impossible. Folks, there comes a point when you choose to walk with Christ, you're saying, I can't look at this with my eyes, I've got to look higher than the natural. If not, you make peace with things you're supposed to be fighting. And I'm telling you, God will equip a 10,000 army person to win in different ways. He'll tell us, how do you win? It's a company, it's an organization, it's a global organization. They're anti-Bible, they're anti-Christ, it's this, here's how you win, the heart of the king is in the hands of the Lord and he can turn it. It's God saying, I know what you see, but you've got to recognize what I can do. It's God moving ungodly leaders, supervising. It's provision in unexpected places. It's God providing substance from a widow's cupboard, from a rock that brings water, quail from heaven, manna that comes in the middle of the wilderness. It's God saying, when you don't know where it's going to come from, even though I don't see it, he's working. Even though I don't feel it, he's working. And hallelujah, he never stops working. Praise God. I got a text yesterday, Saturday, that says, I've got a story to tell you.

Can you call me? This is a pastor in California who happened to be in Oklahoma. He said, I'm sitting here with pastors of a church that showed up at Times Square Church, he said, six months earlier. He said, they were there to your right, over here on the left, right behind these first rows. He says, they came to New York to discuss their exit strategy from the ministry. And somehow, that day, you spoke about, God will give you a table in the presence of your enemies. He says, and now, I'm sitting here, six months later, and instead of saying, how do we get out? They said, God, we trust you to provide, right in the middle of the battle. They went all in. Instead of coming to peace with the enemy, they became soldiers against those things. Terms of peace is giving up. It's too hard. The battle is too much. I decide, it's too hard to come to Times Square Church. I've got to get on a train. I've got to pay for parking. And what we do is, we decide to make peace, and going, it's just not for me, it's just not for me. I was born this way. Listen, I've heard people say, I'm Italian, I'm Puerto Rican, that's why I'm like this. I'm hard-headed. Listen, when you come to Christ, it doesn't matter whether you're Italian, Puerto Rican, it doesn't matter whether you're from the Bronx or Staten Island. It doesn't matter whether you're Jewish or Arabic. All that matters is that I'm a new creation in Christ. When our life is surrendered to Him, He goes deep inside.

Do not make peace with things that God is asking us to go to war with. I've had people speak to me about chapter by chapter and said, it's too much. That's a big commitment. That's four years. It's hard. You've got to write every single day. Yes! That's exactly what it is. In May 2001, there was a man named Eric Winnheimer who accomplished something only 150 people do every year, which was to scale to Mount Everest. And Eric made it up there with those 150 people, but the thing that made Eric's achievement unusual is Eric was blind, blind. These are blind men climbing up tens of thousands of feet to get to the top and doing it blind with a guide, doing something that would risk his life for, athletes getting medals, dedicating their life to skate, to ski, to snowboard, to bargain, to bobsled, all those things. And when everything's said and done, we would say to ourselves, and we as believers, we don't hear the battle call anymore. We don't hear the call to, as at times, the inconvenience and the hard and the difficult. I was thinking about this. I don't know why I was thinking about this. This is a 40, 45-year-old movie I was thinking about. It was a Tom Hanks movie. I wasn't even going to say this, but I'm going to say it anyway. You can write whatever you want in a text. It just doesn't matter. It was a movie on baseball called A League of Their Own. And yes, some of you, write to them. And Dottie was going to quit the team right before the World Series. It was a women's baseball league. The conversation between Dottie and the coach, Tom Hanks, has always been one of those things

that I kept thinking about. And this is what he said. Jimmy comes up and says these words. Would you put that on the screen for me, please? Jimmy comes up, says, sneaking out like this, quitting, you regret it for the rest of your life. And the baseball is what gets inside of you. It's what lights you up. You can't deny that. And this is what she said. She said, it's just got too hard, and this is the part that I love, that it's supposed to be hard. If it wasn't hard, everyone would do it. Hard is what makes it great. Folks, look at me for a second. Christianity is too hard. It's supposed to be hard. How many found out being a Christian is hard? It's supposed to be. That's what makes it great, and when it's all said and done, we get to be in heaven with Jesus forever. It's worth it all, hallelujah. Prayer, the challenge, when you walk with Christ, it's always true, the numbers are always against us. I just got an email from one of our online workers. I hope she's watching. Elizabeth is one of our new online prayer team members, and this is what I got. Pastor Tim, I'm sharing the testimony of our newest prayer team member.

Remember, the numbers are always against us. Elizabeth just joined the prayer team. Here it comes. She's 83 years old, and she wants to finish strong. She said, I was born and raised Catholic. Through a horrific divorce, I sought God. In 1972, I said yes to Jesus, and for the first time in my life, I felt love. I was 30 years old, and I fell in love with people and Jesus. Before that, I hated the whole world. I was baptized in the Holy Spirit in 1975. I experienced good and tough growing years in the Lord. However, during those years, I was strengthened by the sermons and writings of David Wilkerson. And in 2023, I fell and suffered a very severe concussion. It lasted two years, but suddenly one night, I was totally healed during one of the sermons here at Times Square Church. I can't remember which one. And recently, the Lord opened up a door. One of my friends said to me, since you cannot go to church when I am in New York, I always go to Times Square Church. The thought remained in my mind, but three weeks later, the Lord put TSC in my heart. From that day, I've been part of TSC online, twice on Sundays and Tuesday evenings. And when Pastor Carter spoke about his father, the Lord answered me and healed me of more lies

that I believed in. I didn't send an email to Pastor Carter, but I shared with him what Jesus did for me. My love, listen to this last part. My love for the Lord has increased so much. I've shared TSC with many people that has made a difference in my life. Here in Raleigh, North Carolina, a few weeks ago, I reached out to the church. I felt I wanted to be connected just before fasting and praying weekend. After our communication, I've decided at 83 years old, I want to be part of a prayer team. Folks, let me just say something. The numbers are against her, but God is for her. She said yes. When all of us are backing off, she's leaning in. When all of us are going like, oh my goodness, I know the snow doesn't start till one, but it's wet outside. 83 years old, suffering a concussion, leaning in. It's the challenge. It's the challenge for all of us. And here's what I want to finish with as the musicians come. This is the challenge that I kept thinking through. I want to close with something that puzzled me. And this is what puzzled me. It was one part, it was a man who prayed and God never had a chance to keep his promise.

I want you to keep that in mind. God never had a chance to keep his promise. I know what God has promised me. And I don't want to live that regret. It was God made a promise and a man never had, God never had a chance to keep that promise. Here's what I finish with. It was a prayer meeting between two people, God himself and Abraham. And it was a negotiation prayer that had happened in Genesis chapter 18. Abraham was negotiating with God as God was on his way to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah. Abraham said, if there's 50 righteous people, would you spare it? God said, I'd spare it. What if there's 45? I'd spare it. Then he goes to 40. I'd spare it, God says. Would you show mercy if there's 30? I'll show mercy. How about 20? God says, I'll show mercy for 20. And then finally the negotiations in a sense stop at 10. Listen to it. Finally, Abraham said, oh, let not the Lord be angry. I'll speak this once more. Suppose only 10 are found. And God said, then for the sake of the 10,

I won't destroy it, meaning Sodom and Gomorrah. And the Lord went on his way and he had finished his conversation with Abraham. And Abraham returned to his 10. The challenge has been, sometimes people are saying, could Abraham have gone lower and rescued a city by asking one more time? We don't know that for sure, but here's what I kept thinking about. The initial evacuees of Sodom and Gomorrah were four people. It was Lot, two daughters, and his wife. And the wife didn't even make it out. She turned back and turned to a pillar of salt. Three people got out. So Lot, in a sense, if you even count the wife, was missing six people, six. He's living in a city, twin cities, called Sodom and Gomorrah. God said, I'll spare the city for 10 people. And this is the challenge. This is where we finish. This is where God didn't get a chance to keep his promise. So the magic number, in a sense, to rescue the city was 10. So he was six people short. And this is all I kept thinking about. So Lot couldn't convert six more people? Lot couldn't influence six more people to walk in righteousness? His life, between his wife, his life,

and his two daughters, between them, even if they said, okay, Lot goes, me and mom will win two to the Lord, and you win one each, they couldn't win six more people to the Lord? For God to keep his promise? All I kept thinking about was that verse, at the end of the challenge, if salt is good, but if salt loose becomes tasteless, with what will it be seasoned? It's useless, either for soil, the manure pots, thrown out, he who has an ear, let him hear. Think about it. He was no longer an influence in the city that he was living in. What was inexplicable to me, I think what was inexplicable was Lot being content to reside there. I think what was inexplicable, it baffled me, was Lot's content to live there with no change in his surroundings. Nothing changed by him being there. No change from the contact he would have with people. The Bible tells he would sit at the gate of Sodom and Gomorrah, and no lives were changed by his presence, by him just being there. Can you imagine, God puts you at a university, some of you are watching from universities all over the country and around the world, and God puts you in a dorm, God puts you

in a business school, God puts you in the science academy, God puts you in the technology school, and nobody's life is changed by you being there. After four years, after four years, did the salt become tasteless? The apartment building that you live in, has anyone even been saved? The block that you live in, has anyone even noticed? Or have we made peace with things we're supposed to be at war with? That's the challenge, that's the challenge. It's the challenge that, and I encourage every one of you to listen to this Tuesday night message, it's the challenge of going to the second table that Pastor Carter talked about. The first table is just us being, is just really us four and no more, that's Lot, two daughters, and a wife. But to go beyond that and say, I wanna see lives changed. It's inexplicable to me that you live in Sodom. Daughters are born, because we don't see those daughters from what I see in the Scriptures. We're not born on the journey with Abraham. It seems that they were born in Sodom and Gomorrah, so let's just assume he's been there for, I don't know, five, 10 years, I don't know for sure. But can you imagine, in all those years, there's no, there's nobody's changed. My heart leapt within me to look and to see

what Bo and Courtney have done in Mozambique. They're making a difference in Mozambique. How about Staten Island? How about Midtown? How about your office? How about at UBS? How about at Goldman Sachs? How about on Wall Street? Whose life has been changed at NYU? Because you're there. That goes for me, too. Or have we made peace with things we're supposed to be fighting with? Fighting through embarrassment. Fighting through, don't say anything or you're gonna get written up. Folks, I'm telling you, this is what's amazing. Listen to how 2 Peter describes this. Peter talks about what Lot faced every day. Listen to these words. The Bible says, if he, God, condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to destruction by reducing them to ashes, having made them an example to those who would live ungodly lives. Here comes verse seven. If he rescued righteous Lot, oppressed by the sensual conduct of unprincipled men, for by what he saw and heard, that righteous man, while living among them, felt his righteous soul tormented. Another version says, vexed day after day

by their lawless deeds. Lot, somehow, was no longer fighting. He gave in, he made peace with, my soul is just gonna be oppressed by sensual conduct by unprincipled people. What he saw every day was tormenting his soul. But he stayed, he stayed, sat in the gate, gave his daughters to Sodomites. And now the only fighter in this story is Abraham, who's an intercessor, praying that God would rescue this. Oh, God, make us an influence again. Where has God put you? Don't be at peace with a paycheck only. Don't be at peace with a contract. If God's given you a contract on Broadway to be in one of these shows, don't be at peace, well, I finally made my dream. It's bigger than that. He's called us to be salt and light. He's called us to be ... I know that if God is calling me and us to pray, it is going to be a challenge. There is going to be the conviction. There is going to be the confession. There is going to begin a conflict, but there is going to be conversions, hallelujah. Lot became at peace with things he should have been at war with, war with internally, war with comfortability, war with, I don't want to mess things up here. Things are at peace here. I don't want to mess things up. We no longer fight. Now we've made peace. No one's life has changed in Sodom because of his presence. The daughters are even messed up.

The wife is messed up. Lot is holding on for dear life. Lot didn't fight. He couldn't not even just get it to 10, he couldn't even get it to five, couldn't even get it to four. What is it? What is it that God is asking? Here's what I've always realized. As musicians come, let me just give you these quickly. Stand with me, stand with me. Let me remind you, you will always be outnumbered in the natural. You're always going to be outnumbered, but you will always have more for you in the spiritual. It's Elisha's servant going, oh, there's too many, there's too many. And he goes, oh God, open his eyes and let him see that there's more for us than there are against us. So you know the person that doesn't make an impact is the one that just sees the numbers, that the numbers are skewed against us. And I just remind you, they're always against us. They're always against us. It's when you look at this, you go, how are you going to change a city? It's 8 million people. You're going to have a prayer meeting with just a few hundred people? Because we don't look with natural eyes. We see that God has surrounded this place with angels and wants to work miracles. God wants to do it. Don't see with the natural eyes. See what God wants to do. When you don't see things through prayer, you make peace with things you should be fighting. When you don't see it through prayer, you start making peace with things you should be fighting.

Because when you're praying, you're going, God, do you want me to fight? Do you want me to fight? Do you want me to fight? Or you're setting terms of delegation. I don't want to get in trouble. I don't want to do this. I don't want to do this. And God goes, you're a soldier, for goodness sake. And finally, when you're at peace with what you should be fighting, don't miss this. Life gets small and there's no impact. Talk about small. Lot's world comes now down, well, I got my two girls and my wife. And even that was messed up. My goodness. See what God wants for you. There's more. There's more than a gig. There's more than a contract. There's more than my, oh my goodness, the stocks I'm managing have made a lot of money this year because of the money. There's more than I can do. When it's all said and done, who cares? Whose life has been changed? Come on. Ask that question. Ask the question, have I made terms of peace when I'm supposed to be fighting for souls? Listen, I know you're going like, I came out in the snow to get yelled at like this? Elizabeth is 83, she fights, is now praying for people. Eric fights to just get up Mount Everest. I'm fighting.

I don't want to live a comfortable life. I want to go out. I want to go out with as many people as I can. So this is what I told God. I said, I'm saying yes, I'm saying yes, but I just need a little more time because I know a hard, I know what you're about to ask me. Others may, but you cannot. Others may, but you cannot. Others may, but you cannot. That's the challenge of the fighter. Others may, but you cannot. Let that sink into your soul. soul because when you don't let that sink in you become like everybody you become tasteless then i'm just telling you this choir the stage these singers are filled with such gifting those that are sitting out here you're filled with such gifting but if you don't begin to let god put you at war with things that you've made peace with you become tasteless and that's where god goes others may but you cannot what are you telling us pastor i'm not telling you anything let the holy spirit tell you stop using those words stop saying this stop doing here's what i've come to here's a big word i want to tell you about it'll take one second it's this word consecration say that word with me consecration let me explain to you what it is consecration is this it's holding a blank sheet of paper and this is what it's saying god i'll sign the bottom you and then you can fill in what you want later that's what you know what we want tell me what you want god and then i'll decide if i'm gonna do it that's not the way it works it's i signed the bottom and i said your will be done your will be done that's what consecration is some of you are already negotiating i got this much let's see if you let me go ahead i'll do this and if you let me do this i have to play professional sports for the then then i'm gonna live for jesus let me just tell you something it's now saying god if you open up a door in pro sports if you open up a door on broadway if you open up a door at this university my life belongs to you either way it belongs to you in new york city it belongs to you in athens it belongs to you in montreal it belongs to you in the bronx that now it doesn't matter my life belongs to you oh god and i will choose this day

to say yes to you no matter what it is god if anyone comes to me jesus said there's no greater priority than him you are greater than my family i will carry my cross and i will count the cost would you bow your head with me please for just a moment i know i've been obedient to what god asked me to say today it's my journey it's a journey for us corporately it's a journey for me as a as a pastor it's a journey for us as leaders in this church and it's a journey for us as a congregation when i heard the lord say to me this is i can fill up every seat with intercessors they really the question on the floor is not if i can the question is if you want to pay the price because the steward to steward intercessors to steward what i want to do in this city is going to cost you oh god the numbers are against me god i see 20 000 coming at me but lord i see you greater than all of that i see you greater than all of that so on this day i'm telling you it could be a call to the mission field when i when i look at at our friends to mozambique i guarantee you they saw 20 000 an army of 20 000 coming at them they needed the holy spirit to guide them they needed the holy spirit they had to sign the document god we're go we don't know what to expect but we go no terms of peace which what you've asked me to go to war with i want to make an impact god i want you to keep your promise send one more awakening to this city send one more awakening come on for those around the world pray for your city right now pray for london pray for manila pray for mexico city right now pray that god would move in los angeles and dallas pray for an awakening in miami pray for an awakening in detroit an awakening would take place in chicago come on let's believe for sioux city let's believe for north carolina and raleigh durham let's believe an awakening would take place whatever city you're from let's believe for it to take place whatever nation you're from i want to believe for that to take place and god i just pray that you would help us help us help us today help us now i'm going to ask this question with every head bowed and every eyes closed balcony main floor those are watching in the annex i want to speak to those in this building those online you're going to respond in a different way all i can ask you is this if god if you're here today and god is speaking to you and saying pastor tim i've been at peace when i should be at war i've been at peace but i should have i should be at war what i did was i'm supposed to go to the battle and what i did was i looked at

the odds and i just i just i just i just i just i just i just i just i just i just i just i just i Let me just offer peace. And the peace sometimes can turn into compromise. The peace sometimes can turn into saying yes to things you're going like, it's okay, it's a different time, it's a different place. And I'm telling you, just listen to the words, let them sink into your soul as it's sinking. Others may, but you cannot. Others may, but you cannot. Let it sink into your soul. This is a challenge to put the armor back on. Not to come with pens to sign the peace agreement. It's to go, God, I want to fight till the day you call me home. I want to fight till the day. And God maybe is saying to some of us here, balcony, main floor, maybe choir, maybe stage. And just saying, you've been at peace with some things you should be at war with. And the first step, the first step is now to go ahead and to say, God, I put on my armor today. I put on my armor today. If that's you and you're saying, God has convicted me of something. And I've been at peace with things I should be at war at. Would you just raise your hand, let the Holy Spirit speak. Just hold your hand up as high as you can, saying I'm at peace with some things that God's saying, go to war with, go to war with. Come on, lift those hands right now. Lift those hands if that's you. Lift those. Here's what I'm going to ask you to do. You could put your hands down. If it's serious and you're going, I'm taking this to the Lord. I want you to get out of your seat and get to this altar as fast as you can. As fast as you can. Just get out. Just get balcony. We're going to wait for you. We're going to wait for you. I don't, if it's on the stage, if it's in the choir, it's fine. Whoever it is. It doesn't matter. I just want you to get down here. We're going to begin to say, God, we are going forward. We're not going backwards. Being at peace is going backwards. This is that emu and that kangaroo that says, I will not go back. I'm going forward. I'm going forward with what God has called. We'll wait for you, balcony. We'll wait for your main floor to get down here. This is counting the cost. This is counting the cost. Those at this altar, would you just look at me for a second? I'd be right down there with you. I'd be right down, but somebody has to close the service, but I'd be right down there with you. God spoke to me right over here in this section. This is where he spoke to me, right where you guys are. This is where he spoke to me and said, I don't want you at peace with things you're supposed to be fighting. And how do you fight? He puts conviction there. The Holy Spirit comes and starts right here, right in this section. He said, enough, God. He said, you got me. I'm coming. I'm going to do what you've asked me to do. My mind, my eyes, my mouth,

these hands, it all belongs to you now. What this is, it's consecration to us. That's what this is. It's consecration. God, it belongs to you. I don't want to be at peace anymore with stuff I'm supposed to be fighting. I'm with you. So those of us, look at me for a second. Don't be condemned. This is a good moment. This is a good moment. Know what this is? This is the starting gate. This is the beginning. They say, we're going forward now. I don't know if you've ever done this before. Look at the person on your right and say, you're an emu. Tell them that right now. Tell the other person on your left, say, you're going to be a kangaroo. No going backwards. No going backwards. Those words have probably never been used in the church before. And no hopping either. Lift those hands right now. Lift those hands. And just say, God, I'm going to war today. Just say, God, I'm putting on armor today. I'm going to battle today. I'm going, I'm doing what you've asked me to do. God, I'm not going to live in Sodom and no one be uninfluenced. I want to bring souls with me, Lord God. I want to believe today. I want you to keep your promise. If there's 10 righteous on my job, if there's 10 righteous on this play, if there's 10 righteous on this team, if there's 10, God, let it be because that, Lord, you're using me as an influence, as an influence, Lord God. Oh, God, challenge me right now. Speak to me, God. And I'm asking you right now, Lord Jesus, I'm asking you, God, to do what you've promised and what you've spoken to my own heart that you would begin to do. And I'm asking you to start now. Oh, God, let there be astonishing confession. Let there be relentless conviction. Let there be intense conflict, but let there be miraculous conversions, oh God. And I pray for those that are declaring war. Let signs and wonders follow those who have said yes. Those that have decided to move, let this be a day of yes. We say yes. Yes to your will. Yes to your way. Yes to what you are asking us to do. God, this is my day. I'm saying yes. I'm saying yes. It took me two weeks, two weeks to say yes, but I'm saying yes, Lord God. Father, I know it's at. stake. I know it's at stake. My world gets smaller every time I say no, every time I stay in that seat. Let me, I'm going to pause right now. Folks, just keep your heads bowed and your eyes closed. I'm going to say this right now. Man, I just feel strongly to say this. When you, when you, there's some of you that won't move from a seat and your life is getting smaller and smaller because you don't want to come down and go like, I'm just going to stand there. And I know what they do, that Times Square church. You come down, you just stand there, they sing, and then we walk

out and nothing. You're doing business with God. There's nothing magic about this altar. It's business with God. And there's somebody in the balcony or this main floor. You're supposed to be down here. And what you're trying to do is you're trying to get out fast. And God's called you to get out of your seat and get down here, get down here. I'm just going to wait just two seconds, just two seconds that you're going. God is speaking to me. We normally don't do this, but God is talking to me. Get out of those seats, get out of that balcony, get down here and say, God, I'm not going to make my life small. I'm not going to begin to minimize my life. Come on, you come. And as they are starting to come, let's sing something. Come on, sing this to him right now. And then I'm going to pray. Come on. We know that you're a way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper. You're the light in the darkness. My God, that is who you are. You are a way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. My God, that is who you are. We call on the way maker. Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. My God, that is who you are. Hallelujah. Here's what I want you to do. Would you put a hand on someone's shoulder right next to you and just say, God, put them at war right now. Let them fight. God, put inside of them a fighting spirit right now. Come on, pray for them right now. Say, God, put inside of them a fighting spirit again. Whatever we may have said peace to, whatever we have made terms of peace with, this day, let there be, Father, a war, a warrior, a soldier rising up. Would you pray that God would make them an influence, an impact? Let's pray that they would not just begin to give themselves, saying, my soul is going to be vexed. I'm going to live with unprincipled people. But God, let us make a difference. Let us make a difference. Let us make a difference. And Father, I'm praying as we read that verse over that prayer meeting. Now, Lord, do it again. Restore to us that form of glory. May streams of your refreshing flow over us until our dry hearts are drenched again. Drench us again with your presence. Oh, God, come to us right now. Come to us right now. Father, I'm praying, raise up a people of the word. Raise up a people of prayer. Raise up people all over the world, all over the United States, that say, God, others may, we cannot, because we're believing for an awakening. We're believing for influence. We're believing that we're going to put those numbers over ten to see Sodom and Gomorrah saved and set free. Let conversions take place. Let us not just live inside the small world within the doors of our home or apartment, but God, let us begin to see our tables and our

giftings and our platforms be used to influence others, oh God. Oh, God, I pray that you would help us again. Help me. Start with me, Lord God. Start with me. So, Father, I'm asking, on this day, when everything inside, everyone around us is saying, how could you go to church? A blizzard's coming. I pray today would mark a new day, a new day, Lord God, that, Father, we are leaving this place going to say, we're going to battle today. We're going to war today. We're not at peace any longer. We're not at peace. I'm not at peace with that anymore. I'm not at peace with that being in my house. I'm not at peace with that being in my mind. I'm not at peace with that being on my playlist. I'm not at peace anymore. But, oh God, ears, eyes, mouth, hands, life, days, calendar, we consecrate them to you, Lord God. Belongs to you. Father, it's a people like that that will change the city. Church, here's how I want to close. We're going to, well, it's been heavy, so you're going to have to sing a rejoicing song because it's been too much. But let me just say this to you. Some are going, well, what are the things others may, I can't, I would never say that because then you move into legalism. You move into stuff that I would never, I wouldn't want to do. I know there are things that God has spoken to me I can't do, but let God lead you. Just say, Holy Spirit, speak to me.

And if you feel something, if you're, if all of a sudden you're finding yourself doing something and God goes, no, no, no, you'll feel, you'll feel that, you'll feel that conviction. How many have felt the conviction of the Holy Spirit before? Where he said, no, turn that, no, that's not it. Don't say that. Apologize. Do that. Just do that. Because I've watched people. I've watched people with a snide remark. That doesn't go with God. It doesn't go. It doesn't, it doesn't, it demeans, it puts, and all of a sudden God goes, no, no, no, don't do that. That's, I'm going to fix that. I'm going to fix your facial expressions. How many need some facial expressions fixed? I've watched it. I've watched people talk and you're going. In your mind, you went, I didn't say anything. Oh, yes, you did. Said a whole bunch. And God goes, I just want, I want to fix it. I want to fix, I want to do something. I want to do something up here. I want to do something up here in the mind. It's just, I won't tell you because I trust the Holy Spirit. We trust, Ricardo and I talked about it, we trust the Holy Spirit at that prayer meeting. We don't have to say it. When God's moving, you don't have to say stuff.
