God's Big Story: Acts 5

Act V of God's Big Story focuses on the continuation of Jesus' mission through His followers. After His resurrection, Jesus commanded His disciples to spread the gospel to all nations. Before ascending to heaven, He promised to send a helper—the Holy Spirit—who came at Pentecost, empowering believers to become the new temple of God's presence. The early church grew as disciples shared the message, and through persecution, the gospel spread beyond Judea and Samaria to the ends of the earth.

This act is still ongoing today, with believers carrying the mission forward. The apostle Paul played a key role in shaping the early church, writing letters that continue to guide Christians in living out their faith. As members of this ongoing story, we are invited to take part by sharing God’s kingdom in our everyday lives. Whether through missionary work, workplace conversations, or within our families, we have the opportunity to bring others into God’s grand narrative and fulfill the commission given by Jesus.
