God is Good part 1
Project is discussing the goodness of GOD
What's going on, good brothers? Y'all seem like y'all up. Y'all must have slept good last night. Everybody in here from here? No. Where you from? I'm from Memphis. Where you from? Mercerburg. Yeah. Georgia. Georgia you from? Marietta. OK. How long you been down? Since 2016. For sure. Everybody else from here? KC? Or Kansas City, Kansas, or KC Moe? KC Moe. Yeah, that's where all my people from, Kansas. Well, you good brothers don't mind if we pray for a minute, do you? Y'all don't mind if we do that? All right, let's bow our heads. Father, in the name of Jesus, Lord, we thank you for another day. Your goodness, your kindness, your mercy, and your grace. And we thank you, Lord, that you snatch the blinders off
of our ears and eyes, and that you give us ears to hear and a heart to receive your word. It's you doing all the speaking and all the talking, and not none of me. In Jesus' name, amen. Amen. How many people been locked up more than one time? Yeah. Yeah, I'm a two-time felon myself. I tell you, to be locked up, man, it's just messed up. I was talking to some juveniles yesterday in Nashville, and I was telling them, I said, man, I used to be young, right? And I said, man, I used to see like an older dude, and I'd be like, man, I'd never be like him. Man, I got caught with them pistols and went to the feds. I said, man, I was 33. I got out at 33. I said, man, I said, man, I told myself I wasn't going to do it, but I did it anyway. And what's so crazy, you don't have to raise your hand or nothing, and I know y'all can relate to this when I say this. When I had caught a robbery when I was young, right before I got ready to get out, guess what I told myself? I said, well, man, I ain't going to rob nobody unless it's a good lick, unless it's a show lick. I said, I said, I'm going to keep that pistol. I'm going to keep that pistol because I got to have that. I said, but I ain't going to be like, you know, I was younger, so I'm a little older now, so I ain't going to be just quick to just bust.
I'm going to weigh it up, you know what I'm saying? And I said, and I'm going to sell some dope because, I mean, that's just, I got to do that. But I said, I'm going to do it different this time. I ain't going to mess with no crack. I grew up in the crack area. I ain't going to mess with no cocaine. I'm going to sell a little weed on the side and some pills or if something else come along. You know what I'm talking about. Now, let me ask you a question. Before I got out of jail, am I setting myself up for a win or a fall? But I thought I was smart, though. I always considered myself the mastermind. They told me I was the leader. So I thought I was the man. No. No, see, a lot of times, we as men, we got something called ego. And you know what ego mean? It mean edging God out. We want to figure it out ourselves. I held the family down. I held this block down. I did this. I'm going to figure it out. And we'd be up here with you. And you know how, and if this ain't you, which, don't you raise your hand. You know something about it like this. You know how you talk to somebody, and they be thinking, and like you're telling them something.
And they say, yeah, yeah, yeah, I know what you're talking about. I know what you're talking about. But they don't know. You know they don't know what you're talking about. You know they don't know what you're talking about. Straight cap. You be like, man, this man don't know what I'm talking about. But that's how men are. You know how a girl comes to you, your gal, or your mama, or your auntie. I just don't know what I'm going to do. Man, don't worry about that. Man, I got you. Man, I got you. Now you don't got nothing working at all. So when you say, I got you, I got you, now you've got to put yourself in a box. You've got to show up now. So what are we going to do? You know what I'm saying? Let me tell you all this. One thing I had to figure out is that God is smarter than me. Do everybody here know about who God is, and believe in God, and know that God is more smarter than you? Now, if you don't know this, just listen to me. And everybody that know that everything you thought you knew, or that you do know, just take that to the side for a second. And you may get some confirmation, but you can never know everything. Am I right? You can never know everything. You know, people with real strong egos, they think they know everything. They smart as I don't know what.
You just so smart. And maybe we call them big brain. You a big brain, huh? You know everything, huh? I don't care who you is, you're not smarter than God. And you don't know more than God, and you don't even know more about yourself than God. God knows more about you than you do. But see, I had to figure that out. I didn't understand that. I thought I was slick. I was smart. You know what I'm saying? I mean, come on, man. They call it scamming. I used to play paper. We called it playing paper back in the days. And when we used to do what we did, we never got caught. We just walked to the teller, get the money, put—oh, I can talk about it now, that's Statue of Limitation. I can talk. Pull the money out with the cap down, I'm talking straight free money coming out the teller. Man, you couldn't tell us nothing. We riding around parks like this. We like, yeah, fools out here selling dope. We rolling. You know what I'm saying? But the thing is, I didn't understand the real side, which is the spiritual side of it. Everybody in this room is a spirit.
Everybody. I don't care who you is. You a spirit. Because everybody got an earth suit on. Because if, you know, the 7.62 bullet, the .223 bullet, the 9mm hit you in the head once too many times, you got to go to the other side. You out of here because your earth suit gone. Your earth suit malfunctioned. You got to leave. So I have figured out that God is more smarter than me. He's more smarter than me. And I thought I was smart, but like I said, I didn't look at the spiritual side of stealing. See, when you steal something, it's like when you any act you do in life is like planting a seed. Right? Because everybody know if you plant an apple in the ground, you're going to get apples, not bananas. Right? And when you put that acorn in the ground, you ain't going to get no squash. Right? And when that potato go in the ground, you ain't getting no Za'atari back here, a favorite God mother Za'atari. That ain't happening. Right? Okay. So when you do something, you know, because in the Bible, it says, anybody read the Bible? Because I'm a Bible student, not a scholar. You read what you saw, every seed produces of his kind. That's how God, that's how God made this work. So when you plant stealing, you're going to get stealing back and not listen, you know
how you plant a seed in the ground. You don't just get one watermelon and when you plant one watermelon seed, you get a whole bunch of them. Right? So that means when you steal something, you're going to get a whole bunch of it back. And then I'm going to show you something else about stealing. When you stealing some, that means the person who owns it ain't looking. So really, you're not showing them no mercy. So when you ain't looking, what's going to happen to you, you ain't going to get no mercy. Don't we need some mercy in here right now? We need some mercy here right now, though. We need some mercy. That's why I bought these notes, because I'm not a Bible scholar, I'm a student. I'm going to retell the scripture right quick, Hebrews 6, 13, 18. Do we understand this? We got to understand, this is something we got to come to full grips with, that God is not a liar, meaning he can't do it, it's not in his nature to lie, he can't do it. The devil is the father of lies, he created lies, God cannot lie, he can't do it. You can put God in a box and if you say, look, you know, remember, anybody remember Wonder Woman, the last soul of truth, and all that stuff she had, remember that, yeah, that's God. See, in other words, you ask him something, and if he speak back, it's going to be true. It's got to be true, he can't tell a lie. Once we come into understanding that God is not a liar, then, but see, it's hard for us to kind of see this sometimes, because how many people have been lied to by people that you loved and even people that you thought represented God, and you've been lied to? Well, that was just a godly misrepresentation, you see what I'm saying? And we've all been lied to, and we've all told lies. Hebrews 6, verse 13 says, when God made this promise to Abraham, since there was no one greater for him to swear by, he swore by himself.
You know, somebody say, I put that on God, we really shouldn't be swearing, because we don't have no authority like that, but we do that because we have to put something on something that's greater than us to make what we're saying be solidified. God swore by himself, saying, I surely bless you and give you many descendants, and so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what he was promised. People swear by someone greater than themselves, and the oath confirms what he said and puts an end to all argument, because God wanted to make the unchanging. nature of his purpose Very clear to the heirs of what was promised the gods Unchanging nature. This is Paul talking in Hebrews. He said God's Unchanging nature meaning it ain't gonna change it ain't gonna switch up It ain't gonna switch up like like the brows switched up when we got here, right? She switched up She gonna switch up like them people you call and say you gonna come see me today And they your family and when you was out there, they was always in your face because you was giving them money And now you know all that female that's talking crazy now, but she wouldn't never say a word to you like that in your face You know the people that lie to you say they gonna send that money and the money never come God don't do that God don't do that. He don't move like that because people switch up But God don't switch up because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised He confirmed with an oath. God did this so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie so impossible means this If you take a alligator put him on the roof and throw him off the roof is he gonna fly It's gator tail time, man It's time to get some gator tail because he is over with him A dog can't live underwater. A cat can't live underwater. You stick them under the water. They gonna end up dead, right? We can't live underwater and can't nobody get up right now and phase through their wall and go home again. That's impossible, right? Like that's impossible. That's the debt to the degree of a number times the degree of a number we can't even fathom That's how much God cannot lie. He can't do it. It's not gonna happen. So once you understand that God is not a liar
Then you can start understanding that God when he say he wish above all things that you prosper being good health Is your soul prosper? He mean that he's not lying. God ain't a liar Now, you know, sometimes people say what man my auntie mom used to preach me the best of me Yeah, but if they preach the word to you The word is right and I ain't saying they didn't go in the back and have a drink or smoke. I ain't saying that But you you can't look at people See cuz everybody here grown You know, I'm going mama auntie number had a time at bat with God now, it's your turn it back with God You said I'm saying, you know, uh, who the youngest person in here? How are you Well 24 20 80 70 six more years. You'll be a hundred rocking on the wheelchair and Everybody in this room would be on the other side. Goodbye You see what I'm saying? Um And like I go back to when I said God's more smarter than me First Corinthians 319 says for the wisdom of this world is foolishness to God Meaning wisdom is above you being smart I mean you like, you know, you got a you can be smart But if you got wisdom that mean you got smarts and know-how to use the smarts So God said that the wisdom of this world meaning means wisdom That's like a little baby with a crayon saying dad. Look what I drew you. I drew you. Okay, baby. Okay, baby. Look good It's a bunch of scribble on the paper That's how God look at what we know That's how smart we are to him because we babies We bet we being but to God we a baby Because see we're men in the physical But we we got to grow in the spiritual You
