GO LOOK AGAIN | 1 Kings 18:41–44 | Chris Durso

In this powerful and prophetic message delivered at Good Company Church, Pastor Chris Durso dives into 1 Kings 18:41–44 to deliver a timely word on spiritual discernment, unwavering faithfulness, and holding fast to God's promises during seasons of waiting. Following the dramatic victory over the 450 false prophets of Baal on Mount Carmel, Elijah prophesied the end of a multi-year drought, declaring, "Rain is on the way. I hear it coming".

Pastor Chris unpacks how Elijah's story provides a blueprint for hearing the voice of the Holy Spirit, aligning our prayers with God's will, and refusing to settle for premature alternatives when God's promises seem delayed:

1. Nothing: Do not mistake the absence of evidence for the absence of God. Faithfulness is what you do when there is still nothing to report. God created the universe out of nothing, and He is not intimidated when your current circumstances show zero proof of what He promised. Keep showing up and keep praying.
2. Anything: When you see nothing, do not settle for anything. Tiredness, loneliness, and impatience are never licenses to compromise your consecration, purity, or destiny. If you settle prematurely for an unauthorized option, you will ruin what God is preparing for you.
3. Something: Small beginnings are never insignificant to God. When the servant finally reported a cloud the size of a man's hand, Elijah recognized that a small sign is all God needs to release a massive downpour. Don't complain about the small size of your current answer—prepare for the abundance that is on its way.

Pastor Chris challenges us to cultivate spiritual discernment—recognizing God’s voice when He speaks, remaining faithful when He is silent, and refusing to confuse competing noise with divine direction.
