One, two, three Our enemies have no reason to gloat over us We have fallen but we will rise say that last phrase together We will rise again say it again. We will run use some Polk County attitude We will rise that that's what I'm talking about right there That's what I'm talking about. I love watching. I love watching football, especially for the hits. I'm all about the hits I grew up and I grew up in a Christian home I met my dad was a pastor all my life, but my dad wasn't confused when it came to sports When I played ball, he said son, here's how it works We're Christians But you hit them as hard as you can And because we're Christians will pray for their healing later But hit them hard right now I That's that was the mindset that I was a that's part of the reason I love watching football today There's gonna be some big hits not on my homes as to hand touch on my homes But you understand like it there's some big hits that happen On in in ballgames and you see you see a wide receiver going across the middle and he gets knocked over He loses his helmet because the defensive back was coming across. They just had the iron BAM hit him and separate him from the ball I love that stuff right there. I love that But you know, what really gets me going is when you see a dude take a shot BAM whether he drops the ball or not He hits the deck And he pops right back

He gets right back up, you know what that is, there's some attitude up inside that I know a little something about that When I was when I was in 10th grade, I went to a I went to a school in Northern, Virginia almost 2,500 students is a big school and They football team was big the Wolverines. That's who we were, right? We did our thing and all these like the the linemen like they're all got these d1 scholarship offers They're going here and there and look like that My job as a as a sophomore I'm playing outside linebacker on the defense and my job was to hold the big shield pad and as the offense was running their Plays just at least track with them keep outside Containment and and run the play so that they would know where to hit who to block all that kind of thing well, the coach called this one play and I'm this little runt sophomore and you've got Goliath's brothers playing on the offensive line And they called a play and I'm running I'm pushing to the side I got my little shield pad with me helmet shoulder pads on and this pulling guard. He comes out He's 300 plus he pulls around and he's running and he hits me in a dead run When this when this gentleman hit me The first thing of me to hit the ground was the back of my helmet and my shoulder pads My feet were in the air, but it hit me so hard I flipped over it was Humiliating my the pad goes flying out of my hand. I hear all the team Everybody saw it because the play was running my way. Everybody goes It's Humiliating and the coach comes running over and I don't know if he was concerned about me or not Because he's going Okay, they see that there's conflict conflict there You don't laugh in my face while I'm trying to catch my breath. I'm stuffing one lung back down my throat again I got I got I'm dying here. I was Humiliated but you know what I did as soon as I hit Before I even hit the ground I was trying new was gonna be ugly. I was trying to get back up again As soon as I hit the ground, I'm digging I get back up and I'm standing there looking at him

And They're saying are you okay? I said yes to all four of them. There was one awful. I got all y'all. I'm good I was trying to like put that together because I was rocked but I was fighting to get back up. I Want you to understand? There's some That we take in life, but we got to keep getting back up. Have you ever been knocked down by a situation? You ever had life just smack you in the mouth? Man, there's some things that come and they hit us that we didn't see coming. We get blindsided by some stuff. Rejection, a diagnosis from the doctor, spouse looks at you and say, I'm out. I'm done. It's over. It doesn't, we don't see it coming when these things hit. You get lied on. You get betrayed by somebody. It hits hard and it kind of sucks the wind out of your life for just a minute. I don't know if you've ever been there. If you've never been there, keep living. Keep sucking air. It's on the, I don't wish it on you. I'm just telling you it's a part of life. It happens. When things happen to us, we get knocked down by situations. Anybody ever had a self-inflicted wound? You knew you shouldn't have gone out with him. You knew you shouldn't have gone out with him. I'm sorry. Let me just get back to this. I can make that shouldn't have gone there. We do things knowing we shouldn't and sometimes it's not just the hits that other people throw in our life. Sometimes it's a decision I made that really goes sideways really fast. I got, I got fired from a job. I did, I had to file bankruptcy. I made some bad decisions. There's some things that we go through that hit us whether it's somebody else or it's decisions of our own choosing. Life comes to all of us. We all get hit. Cindy and I have been through several hits in our 30 plus years of marriage. We buried two children. That's hard. I didn't see that coming. That wasn't my plan. But we had to walk, we had to walk that out. That, that one, that one stung. I don't mind telling you and, and we got betrayed by some friends publicly.

Like on blast and you're sucking air trying to figure out how to navigate this whole thing like years of relationship and then that goes down and we're trying to know how to answer to the public but this is going on. It was just all of that, the betrayal, the lying, all that thing and there's some financial hits. There's some things we went through, some things of our own choosing, some things culture. We've all been rocked by some things whether it was us or somebody else. Shots, hits thrown on us. It's a part of life. Anybody ever had a shot thrown at you or you made a decision that it knocked you to the ground? Anybody ever been there, done that? Okay, that's called life. We all take hits. This opening verse that we, that we opened up with, with the book of Micah. Micah was a prophet about 700 years before Jesus came on the scene, right? So like he's one of the old guys. And, and, and Micah is talking here and, and culture was spiraling. Culture was a mess. It kind of looked like 2025. Like, like culture was a mess and Micah is speaking on behalf of Israel in this entire chapter. And, and here, here's what Micah says. Micah says, um, we fell, we blew it, we pushed back on God, we made decisions that were wrong. We got led astray by some other people. As a nation, we have absolutely, we're living a train wreck and our enemy is laughing at us right now. Have you ever had somebody laugh at you because you fell down? Like people were close enough to help, but they just chose to smile and walk on. That's, that's what Micah is saying. As a nation, we've hit the ground. We got the wind knocked out of us. It is ugly right now. It happened, we blew it, failed, it hurt, it's a mess. But he goes on to say this, in the middle of all the hit, but God is going to help us back up again. Now, now, now you have to understand, he's saying this while he's still down. He's saying this, he's talking about God's ability to pick them up, what God is going to do. Even though he was on the ground, the nation was a mess at this time. He was declaring this because being down doesn't mean being out. As long as God is on the scene, everything is going to be all right. Micah believed that God would turn things around and that they would get back up. And they did. And God restored the nation. What you believe about God is called theology. Theology is the study of God. It's when you open your Bible and you discover God's thoughts, God's ways. God's character and then you embrace that everybody under the sound of my voice has a theology You don't have to have been to college. You don't have to been to cemetery seminary You don't have to have done all of that stuff in order to have a theology

But you have a theology a mindset of God whether he's good or not whether he's faithful or not Whether he'll be with you or not whether God is the one that's punishing you or if God is the one that is blessing you if Blessing is based on a lottery or does God just operate by his character? You you've got all God you got a theology of God bailed on you and failed you or God has always been by your side You you and I have a theology Everybody in this room all you watching along all my brothers at Polk Correctional Institute You've got a theology right now about God You've got a perspective of God and Micah's perspective was in our worst of times. God is still good and You and I have got to wrestle with our theology because understand this what you believe about God Determines what God is able to do for you in your situation Let me put it this way if you believe God can change the situation He will if you don't believe he can He won't I? Don't know if I like that Scott. Well, let me give you some Bible Jesus Jesus walked into a town and there was a blind man that said Jesus Heal me and Jesus goes. I got you boo. Let's go and he took him by the hand and Walked the dude out of the city. He lived in The guys going Jesus you're gonna heal me said yeah keep walking with me But but Jesus not walk walk walk walk walk. They got outside the city limits Jesus said I can heal you now He said what why not heal me there? He said because there's so much unbelief in that city. I will not do a miracle in that city I Want you to understand something What you think and what you believe about God is what you will get from God God has expressed he's put his his power on full display in his word and if you and I will get two handfuls and Believe him even when the circumstances look against him

Despite what mama taught you despite what life is trying to tell you despite what your friend said despite what's what you've been through God is good and you and I have got to believe that because there's a challenge that we all face in life Kind of reminds me when I was a kid what we used to play if there was three of us standing here together one, two, three, I Would hurt you and I would slap the guy on the back of the neck over here and I just turn and walk away and The guy who got slapped got mad at the guy beside him Like what don't we go and now here they going at it and I'm the one who threw the shot I want you to understand the enemy of your life is good at throwing shots and blaming God for stuff He slaps and he points at God. He slaps. Look God failed you. He slaps see God didn't help your child He slaps see God's not a healer and he slaps and he points he slaps and he points and you and I develop our theology based on what all the evidence seems to be pointing to And you and I've got to be so careful because we can actually convict God off of evidence. That is actually not against him It's circumstantial, but it's not reality. I know what it is. I did this when we lost our kids I got so angry with God. I screamed to God. Oh You can't do that. Well, I did I Was a pastor while it was going on You're been you've just been mad at God Some of y'all aren't honest honest enough to be real, but that's okay I'm gonna just tell you where my stuff was. This is how I was out there. I got mad. I screamed to God where the I Had a private conversation with God you understand. Where are you? I Got so mad at him that I've been okay fine, and I gave him the silent treatment. I got him good I Ain't talking to you Well that didn't last long Like I like I was trying everything trying to express myself and because he's good and because he's a father he could handle my temper Tantrum he could handle me dealing with life and trying to work it out and trying to figure it out because what happened was When I went through the worst crisis of my life my theology got rocked I Then begin to question stuff

And if that's not true, then what about those things and what about those things and all of a sudden my world was shifting? And I wasn't sure how to move forward from here. This is why the Bible over and over again highlights God's hand his help his work to reveal his character so that you and I develop the right theology on who God is and What he wants to do not just in their lives, but your life in my life as well Would you turn us what tell him God wants to bless you just know God wants to bless you. God wants to help you There's a guy named Joseph Sold into slavery by his brothers only for God to turn around and make him the governor of Egypt There's a guy named Moses had an anger problem He killed a dude and was running He was a fugitive for 40 years God met him in the desert and had him go back and become the deliverer for the entire Nation of Israel God knows how to pick you back up again and get you back to where you need to be There was a girl named Ruth Ruth Ruth Ruth. She was a young widow got married young her husband died She moved back to a foreign country. She's Poe. She wasn't poor. She was Poe y'all She couldn't afford the other O or the R. She was Poe And She was out picking up corn that that the farmers had left around the corner just to serve and help and ran into a guy Named Boaz. Hey, and she married Boaz and she and Boaz she they started having babies and and then Ruth this girl Who was a widow and poor and in a foreign country all of a sudden becomes one of the great grandmothers of Jesus God knows how to pick people up Job He was well, that's not job. That's that's Job. Job. Job was was was wealthy and then he went bankrupt Only for God to double Everything why because Job didn't lose his theology. I'm not going to curse God. I will not blame God I'll keep my eyes on even when I don't understand him. I'll trust his heart when I can't see his hand I'm going to keep moving towards him David he had a giant issue Never mind he he had he had to he had to face Goliath and then and then David after he kills big ugly now is running for his life

21 attempts on his life by the king of Israel trying to take him out then David if that wasn't enough Then he has an affair with a girl named Bathsheba trying to hide it has her husband killed He's Confronted by the Prophet cries and repents and because his heart was so tender before God here was God's testimony about David He's a man after my own heart jacked up twisted David I Love him and I can bring anybody back If your theology is right If you'll trust me when you don't understand me for trust me when it looks bad you see those stories ladies and gentlemen They're there to shape your theology your your attitude your mindset your expectations towards God That's why they're there to help us when we take our own hits in life that if he did it then he could do it Again, he doesn't just do it in the Bible He's doing it right now in your life in my life How many of you would have to admit there is no reason why I am in this room right now that God must have been Working to pick me up and to turn some things around. Yes. Yes. I know that I Love that. I'm I've got the same story. You see God God works his best stuff in our life When we realize number one, he loves us. I mean, I mean loves you Not like your spouse not like your kids. He loves you He knows you completely fully The parts you don't talk about Yeah, okay. Okay, you're gonna make me go there the browser history. He's aware of that. What's on your computer? He he knows what happened on vacation last year. He knows he knows the text man. He knows all of that and is crazy about you Other folks they know parts of you. God knows you fully and is crazy about you and number two. He's for you There's no scorecard. He's not throwing elbows if God wanted to get you he had a gotcha He's not trying to pull you down. He's trying to show you that I'm a friend that will stick closer than a brother

I know how to help you through things that you can't help yourself through. I just need you to trust me dog I got your back This is who he is. He loves you. He's for you and number three. He's got a plan to pick you back up again He's not he's not a spectator watching and going Oh Dito He's waiting on us while we're down to reach So I turn him from a spectator into a Savior He's there. He's available. He's watching and he knows how to handle and get you through this in Genesis chapter 15 the same thing happen guy named Abraham Y'all know Abraham, right? The old guy that God said you're gonna have a baby and like all of his plumbing has stopped working There's no little blue pill like there's nothing out there to help the guy out Only for the promise of God to happen, he has a boy named Isaac, right? God looks at Abraham in Genesis 15, he said, difficult days are coming. I ain't gonna lie, I ain't gonna, I'm not gonna lie. There's some hits coming, and your kids are gonna make some twisted, crazy decisions. They're gonna walk away from me. They're gonna rebel, they're gonna push back on me, and they're gonna be stuck in a situation they're not gonna like, and it's gonna be hard. God's laying this out, God's a realist, he talks about life. Jesus said, in this world you will have trouble, but take heart, I've overcome the world. In other words, reach to the one who can do something. And God looks at Abraham in Genesis 15, verse 14, listen to what he said, but I will punish the nation that enslaves them, and in the end, they will come away with great wealth. Here's what I want you to understand. God planned their comeback before the fall even happened. He said, I'm telling you they're gonna screw up, but before the screw up happens, I'm just telling you I'm gonna restore them. I've already got a plan to bring them all the way back around. I don't know what broke your heart, what made you cry, what made you wanna quit, what made you move to another state, what put you in the situation you're in right now, but I'm

here to tell you the fall was not fatal, and God is still working in your life, and as long as you've got a pulse, there is hope, and you can come out of this because God has already planned your comeback. Turn to someone and tell them, get back up, get back up, get back up. So here's my message to you. Here's my message. Everyone gets hit in life. Look at the person beside you. Look at them, look at them. They got their bell rung. They've been knocked to the ground. Yes, they have. Some of them laying down there right now, help, help, I've fallen and I can't — yeah, I just had to say it because you were thinking it. Number one, everyone gets hit in life. Number two, everyone not only gets hit in life, everyone falls in life. All of us do. There's no rock stars in the room. I've been there, I've tasted the dirt, I know what that's like. Everyone gets hit. Everyone falls. But here's the key, not everyone gets back up. There's some folks that are still laying on the ground, and they're still talking about when they hit, and they're still pointing fingers. Yeah, they went through a tragic divorce. The problem is they've been married for five years, but they still talk more about their ex than they do their present. None of y'all have to come back next week. Me and Pastor George got it. We're going to have church all by ourselves.

How do I know if I'm still down? Are you still talking about your past or are you looking at your future? Which one are you talking about more? Are you still reminiscing over what they said? Do you still have these horrible things? You're still laying on the ground if you're there because you've got your eyes so much on your past you can't see forward. I'm not even looking at where I'm going, what God has promised, what His Word is saying, that He's able to pick me up and move me forward. I've got to put my mind on that Proverbs 24, 16. Read it loud, read it proud. Here's what it says, the godly may trip seven times, but they will get up again. But one disaster is enough to overthrow the wicked. Wicked there is not like you're thinking. Wicked is somebody who is just separated from God. I've lived that wicked life. I was just separated from God. The righteous are just people who are in relationship, not perfect, don't have it all together. We just have a Savior. Those who have called on Jesus, they get hit, they fall seven times, but they get up eight. Those who don't have Christ, when they fall, there's no getting up. They're down for the count. And you don't have to be counted out in life. Jesus is the one that brings the resurrection back to us. So there's two quick keys to getting back up in life. This is it. After this, we're all going to go to Bob Evans. It's going to be great. So here we go. Two quick keys to getting back up.

Number one, it's so simple, it's so simple, but I've got to say it, you need to call on Jesus. But please hear me, don't make that so remedial. You've got to ask him to help you back up. Jesus isn't absent, he's your answer. He's watching, he's close enough to help, but he needs you to call on him. We call on everybody but him. Peanut Billy Bob Wilbur we call on all kinds of folks and usually we call on folks just as crazy as we are or help Get us in the situation We keep reaching on stupid doesn't never mind Let me come back here So we we got to make sure that that we're calling on Jesus the one who can actually help us through this Micah check watch this Micah 7 we read the first half of the verse in the beginning But I want to read the second half of the same verse to you because Micah goes on to say this though I sit in darkness the Lord is a light for me in other words. I can be in my situation I can be on the ground, but as soon as I catch an eye full of Jesus I know that everything is going to be alright and he puts hope in my darkness and he brings light in my situation and So now you get around us in church And you hear us sing and worship and praise and you might think we actually have it all together When you don't know we're just as jacked up and taking as many hits as you are But I got my eye on the answer and I'm seeing for in my future I'm not focused on my past the experience is not my focus the Expectation is my focus and when that changes light comes in your darkness and I can handle anything as long as I know I'm on my way out This is what Jesus does and one you need Jesus tell somebody you need Jesus you need Jesus And number two that's going to irritate some of you, but just deal with it you need the church Y'all sure enough need the church yes, and by the way the church is not a building the church are the people You can find the church at Starbucks You can find the church at Target

You can find the church at a capital. No you you can find the church you Can find the church on vacation You can find somebody who's a total stranger, and they are the church There's nothing like that because the church why do I need the church the church? the intention of God's Word of God's plan was to be one that lifts and heals And moves us forward Proverbs chapter 17 verse 17 if you're looking for another tat. This is a good one This is a good one check this out. Here's what it says read it read it loud read it proud a Friend loves at all times and a brother is there for times of trouble Your Bible just defined what a friend is a Friend loves at all times even when the reputation is bad a friend still loves And when everybody walks out a four you look up and a friend a real friend is still standing there If your friend can't handle your situation, and they run. They're not your friend A friend that loves at all times a brother is born born created Exists for not slapping high-fives over a ballgame not sharing the same jersey a brother exists for adversity They're there to fight for me and to fight with me a brother is built Do you know what this verse is telling us you're not built to do life alone. I'm not here to do it isolated I need you in my life. You need me in your life We need each other your neighbor is wearing some ugly shoes, but you need them in your life right now Look some y'all looking at your neighbor's shoes right now. Let me see what they look like Watch I'm almost done Ecclesiastes chapter 4 says this Two are better than one They have good reward for their labor when one is down the other is there to pick his brother up You know you got a brother. You know you got a sister when they're always picking you up, and they don't let you focus They don't let you reminisce on where you've been they've got you focused on where you're going And they keep talking hope and life and promise and that my friend is the church Yesterday I did something. I never should have done, but I did it you ever done that sure you have

It's been well over a year since I've gone, and I've run Lake Hollingsworth Lake Hollingsworth minute if you're not from this area 2.8 2.9 miles something like that who knows it may as well been one I it's a long ways And I decided let's go. I will move my 57 years around this lake. Let's get it done I went out there. I'm 10 steps into it I'm feeling muscles pull that I didn't even know I ever had like what in the heck are you doing my body's rebelling against? Me like all that's going on, but then you know there's this thing and so I'm running I'm running and I lifted my head. I'm looking at my watch like okay. I'm a mile and a half into this I haven't stopped. I'm doing good. I got one lung hanging out of my mouth over here like I'm I'm getting the hang of it I'm running I'm running and I'm lifting my head. I'm looking at my watch like okay. I'm a mile and a half into this through it, and I made a pact with myself. I haven't stopped. I'm doing good When I got to a mile and a half, I'm going to stop. I'm going to walk for a half a mile. Oh, you deserve it. I was looking for an ice cream shop somewhere along the way. I'm running, and I get to that mile and a half marker. Like, woo! And I look up, and probably 50 yards ahead was this lady. And something inside me said, catch her. Help me, Holy Ghost. And so here I went, man. I said, let's just run to the lady. Just make it to the lady. Like, slow down, but run to the lady. And I get to where she is, and like, whoa! And I'm thinking, I'm having these conversations in my head. You made it. Slow down, breathe.

And then here's what must happen. But if you pass her running, and then slow down and stop, she's going to think, well, you're not even really running. You were just trying to outdo her. And so I got all these games going on in my mind. And I look up, and there's someone 30 yards ahead. And my head goes, run to them. OK, let's go. What are you doing? Run. And so I'm running. And I get to them, and I promise you there's another. And so I kept running to people. I lifted my head, and I'm going over 2 and 1⁄2 miles. I'm like, what is wrong with me? I finished the whole lake without stopping because of people I didn't even know. Talk about it. They didn't have a clue how they were helping me. But because they were out walking that day, they kept setting goals for me. And so I just kept moving where they were. And once I passed them, I lifted my eyes, and I found somebody else. And I passed, and I kept on moving. And I lifted my head, and I made it all the way around. You and I need each other. And it's not that we got to be besties, and it's all going to be like that. But when you get around some other people,

and you keep showing up on Sundays, somehow life starts turning for you because you start seeing some faces. I've been praying for you, man. I've been watching for you. You're coming through this. You're not by yourself. We're going to come out the other side. There's nothing like knowing you've got a crew, a posse, an army that you're getting through it together. This is why the church exists. Don't run from the church. Run to the church. If you feel alone, run to the church. If your marriage is a mess, run to the church. Going through divorce, run to the church. Sick, run to the church. Unexpected pregnancy, run to the church. Sleeping with anything that will lay down with you, run to the church. Questioning your sexual identification, run to the church. Moral failure, run to the church. Bankrupt, addicted, angry, run to the church. Convicted, serving time, or released, just get to the church. We want to get you back on your feet again. You've got a life to live. If God be for you, who can be against you? You're going to be all right, but you

need some people who can remind you of the plan God has for your life. So let me just put you on notice. We're not afraid of your failure. I don't give a rip what your reputation is. You're welcome in this place, because all of us have a past. All of us have a reputation. All of us got some nasty on us somewhere. We've all got some stories. So you got hit, guess what? We did, too. You fell down, guess what? We did, too. But the God that we know and the God that we serve knows how to pick you back up. If he did it for me, he can do it for you, too. Let me finish with this. Malachi, my grandson, had a birthday in January, January the 22nd. And before his birthday, we had bought this gift that had to be put together. And so I went over early before the birthday party, and I'm working on it. Took me two hours. I pulled it out of the box. It comes all so nicely packaged. And when I opened the directions up, it filled the living room. Like, what the heck? And I'm like, step one, step two, step three, step four. And I'm walking through.

It was about 24, 25 steps to finishing this whole thing out. I'm moving through getting it done. I get down. Literally, I was on step number 19, step number 20. And it's looking good. I'm like, mm, you go. Taking some wheezes with it. I'm kind of proud of myself. Like, I did that. And when I got right towards the end, I look around and, well, what's that piece doing there? The devil is a liar. Like, why in the world? And I go back, I pick the piece up and I look at the little sticker and it tells me what piece number it is. And I look back at the very beginning of the instructions. I go, where's that number? Now, I look back to number 18, 19, 20, 21. No, it doesn't go on there. Where does it go? Oh, that was step number seven. I missed step seven. And it was looking good. It was taking shape. Like, it looked good, but this piece had to be put on at step seven. But I had already put so many other pieces together that now it wouldn't just fit in.

I had to start taking the thing apart and start pulling pieces off and pulling the back off and pull this leg down and take this thing out and get this wedged in there. Like, all that, some duct tape, it all ended up working together. Like, we got it all in. But I had to back all the way up to the beginning because I missed a step. Many of you have taken some hits in life and no one even understands your story. You're a living, breathing, walking miracle. I get it. But here's what I do know. You and I, in our drive to come out, we can start trying to put our life together. We're making great decisions. You're back in school and you're getting some counseling and you got a new friend group or you moved and you're making some great decisions and life is starting to take a turn for the better. It's starting to take some shape. I want you to understand, if you're going to finish it and be able to enjoy it because it's the way it's supposed to be,

you gotta make sure you don't skip the beginning step. Jesus has got to go in the beginning or you will get all this put together and realize I've gotta break it all back down again because it's not working. I did all of this, but it's not right. I've gotta get Jesus in the very beginning so then everything that follows, it will come together. Ladies and gentlemen, you've done some great moves, but without Jesus, you're gonna have to take life apart again. If you'll get Jesus back in his proper place, he puts structure and strength to the whole thing and he will help you finish the masterpiece he made you to be. Would you please stand on your feet in this room? It's an amazing, amazing crowd in this room today. All my brothers at Polk CI, I'm talking to you. I love you guys. I love you guys and God's not bailed on you. He's right there. He's got your back and his plan is still in full effect. It's not a plan B. God knows how to take and get the best out of your life. Trust him in this. But all of us in this room,

we've taken some hits and for some of us in this room, we're still down. It's crazy, you should be down. You should be down. You should be down. It's crazy, you should be down and still have a lot of money. You can be down driving a nice car. You can be down, have your marriage, have a business, education, you can still be down. He wants to bring you fully alive today. I wanna ask you to bow your heads in this room. If you're here today and you say, Scott, I don't know Jesus that way. I'm not invited him in or it's been a minute and I've got to admit, I'm a long ways into putting my life back together again, but I'm missing a piece and I recognize that I need Jesus in my life. I need to put him back in his proper place. If you're in this room, you say, Scott, I wanna pray. I wanna get Jesus back involved in my life. I want him to lead my life. I'm reaching for him today so that I can connect with his house and get my future back on the count of three. I want you to throw your hand in the air.

I want to pray over everybody in the room today because there's a lot of you that you love Jesus, but you've taken some hits. And I want you to know that the Spirit of God sees you and He's for you. He loves you and He's rushing by your side today. Reach for Him again. Dust off your theology and go back after Him again. And begin to proclaim His goodness and His faithfulness and His power to turn you around and to pick you back up again. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, I pray over every person in this room. Those who have just accepted you and those in this room who've already known you. But God, we've taken hits and we might be down in this moment. We've been separated from the ball. We got rocked, but Lord, today you're going to help us get back up again. There is a comeback. There is a stepping up. We're bouncing back from every situation. We will not stay down. And I pray your love, your power, your hope, your strength would invade lives and hearts. Those who are crying in this room right now. Those whose hearts have been broken. I thank you that you're a very present help in the time of trouble. That you show up when everybody walked out. That you do your best work in the night seasons. So that our song comes back and our joy comes back and our laugh comes back. God, give us some light in the darkness and show us that our future is still fully alive. In the name of Jesus, I'm asking for miracles. I'm asking for you to resurrect hope and resurrect homes and resurrect marriages and resurrect joy. Today, God, over marriages and singles and students and grandparents and business owners. God, I'm asking you to do what only you can do. And as you do your part, the church of Jesus Christ will stand here with arms wide open. With no judgment but full embrace and watch you work to change and restore lives completely.
