When something says I am guilty, I point to the price you pay. When something says I'm not worthy, I point to that empty grave. Just like Lazarus, you brought me back to life. Come on, if you're alive in Jesus, somebody give a praise. Well, church family, I've been in this series, The Fantastic Four, and we've had a little few things in there that are the divine interruptions of God to speak to our heart and challenge us like we did last week for a GR1 Global Sunday. But I wanna bring your attention to The Fantastic Four, and I've selected four people out of the book of Hebrews, chapter 11, the heroes of the faith. And there are many in there. In fact, even the writer said, I could go on about this person and this person and this person, this person, and you'd be going forever just on the people of Hebrews 11. But there are four that stood out to me. And so the thing about why I call them The Fantastic Four, I know it's a little bit of a play off the movie that came out, but what made them fantastic? What really was that superpower in them? And I'll tell you, that superpower that's in them is in you. And you know what it was? It was absolute abandon and trust in God. It was just faith trusting God. So let's go to Hebrews 11, verse one. It says, this is what made them great. Faith shows the reality of what we hope for. It is the evidence of things we cannot see. Through their faith, say that with me, through their faith, the people in days of old

earned a good reputation. And we talked about, we looked at the faith of what made Noah so special in a just a, just an absolutely sin-ridden culture that God would use him is the same way he wants to use you. And then we talked about the faith of Moses, his family, his parents, their faith. But today I wanna look at one in verse 30 of Hebrews 11. And this is what it says. This is what makes people fantastic is their trust in God, total abandon, faith, faith in him, to follow him. It says in Hebrews 11, 30, it says, it was by faith that the people of Israel marched around Jericho for seven days and the walls came crashing down. Can you imagine that day? So today the fantastic faith that I'm gonna talk about is the faith of the people of Israel, but that faith was inspired by a God, a man God used. And his name was Joshua. So go with me over to Joshua chapter six. And we're gonna talk about what Hebrews was reflecting on, okay? So they've come out of the bondage of Egypt for 400 years of slavery. They've crossed the Red Sea. They have crossed the Jordan as it's pushed back to its waters. And now they're facing the first opposition

of the promised land that God said was belonged to the people of Israel. And it's a place called Jericho, a fortified city that they had no weaponry to conquer. And here's the story. It says in verse one, let's read a few verses. It says, now Jericho was tightly shut up because of the Israelites. No one went out and no one came in. Then the Lord said to Joshua, see, I have delivered Jericho into your hands along with its king and its fighting men. March around the city once with all the armed men. Do this for six days. Have seven priests carry trumpets of ram's horns in front of the ark. On the seventh day, march around the city seven times with the priest blowing the trumpets. When you hear them sound a long blast on the trumpets, have all the people give a loud shout. Then the wall of the city will collapse and the people will go up, every man straight in. You go down to Joshua chapter six, verse 20 of this true story that happened for the people of God. It says this, when the. Trumpet sounded the people shouted at the sound of the trumpet when the people gave a loud shout the wall collapsed so every man charged straight in and they took the city those were ordinary people like you and me with walls around them saying you're never gonna see this come down and you're never gonna reach see from God you're never gonna see this conquered and God said watch me do it

with people of faith and nothing but a shout how many believe that there's a shout inside of your mouth and in your heart right now that's gonna bring walls down that Satan has tried to put around you why don't you go ahead and give it a shot and get the loudest shout of praise you could ever give amen go ahead and do it because I'm gonna tell you I'm on an assignment today I know I am you know I know I am after hearing that prophetic word that prophecy I'm gonna tell I know I'm on a mission today so would it be okay if I pushed you toward the promise God has given you I'm gonna give you a push have you ever watched football right now have you ever watched it well all of a sudden they have what they call this tush push and everybody just gets behind and start you know what a Holy Spirit's gonna do me and the heavenly angels God the Father Son the Holy Spirit and the Word of God and the Holy Spirit we're gonna get behind you and we're gonna shove you across the line to the promise God has given you would it be okay if I did that would it be all right would it be okay if I helped you bring down every single barrier and pushed you told the promise would that be okay today would it be okay if all the limitations you said well I don't come from the right socio-economic level I'm not the right race I'm not the right age I'm not the right strength I don't have the ability I come from an alcoholic background there's no way I can get free would it be okay if I took all the limitations Satan's have put on you and just leveled into the ground and you go straight in and take what he said you couldn't take it that'd be okay would that be all right would it be okay would it be okay the confinement that you're feeling that you're always gonna be stuck with this addiction that this is the way you were born and I'm never gonna change this is what people say would it be okay if I took the restrictions and the confinement Satan has put on your mind and your mentality and your spirit and would it be okay if I just took him by the blood of Jesus and just crushed them into fine powder until you go in and become everything that God said you're supposed to be would it just be okay if God's people would push toward the promise today because what you say is an impossibility

just like they did then is God's opportunity for you see God move in a supernatural way I know your son is 56 years of age right now he's got more money than you he's got a nice lake property and he doesn't need God because he got has what he wants his kids are in the finest schools and you know but I'm telling you his heart that you thinks gone Jesus is getting ready to bring down every single barrier of Jesus Christ and come in and get him can I can I tell you that's the kind of God you're with today you say so pastor what was it that made these folks do something that against instrumental bonds was an impossibility but God's opportunity what did it here's what makes them fantastic is they just didn't have trust in God they had confident faith in God they were confident when it didn't look that way look at look at verse 2 it says then the Lord said to Joshua see I have delivered Jericho into your hands that was the promise that was all they had a bunch of ragtag group of people that came up out of out of Egypt under 400 years of slavery and God says here's the promise of AI here's another one in front of you see what needs to happen is God's promise is the bridge between your present and your possession that's the bridge some of you are presently in a situation and there's something that you want to possess that Satan screams at you and says you will never ever have it it's never changed for your dad or your dad's dad or your dad's dad's dad it's been that same way with your family and this is going to trail your family they had the same thing it's genetic that uh that uh that uh it's just the way you are the spiritual DNA your family's never gonna you'll never survive you'll never get your college degree can I tell you that the promise God gives you is the bridge from your present condition to the promise that you're going to possess so let God's promise stand between you and every barrier of your blessing today and I will tell you you're saying well pastor you don't know what I'm going to well I think I do I don't think people around you know what I'm talking about and I promise you those folks back there are ordinary people just like you and me but they were fantastic it's as

The people did it not just joshua it got in the people confident faith Not just pastor. It's you sitting there. You're sitting way up there in the balcony and you're going Yeah, but you're way down there and if you knew my family you knew my history. No, no, wait a minute Something got in the people that god put a promise that i'm in this present, but it's the bridge to where i'm going I mean you look at jericho. Okay. Let me just help you with jericho. Jericho They said was probably eight to nine acres square. Okay Okay Now when you look at this city Just the lower wall the lower wall was 20 to 26 feet high The walls were about six feet thick and then there was an embankment up another wall That was 46 feet high. Where's that picture? Does that picture in there? Okay. There you go That's how high that's kind of like how it was laid out And here are the people of jericho marching About a half a mile every day With nothing but people a ram's horn and a trumpet and god says go take that That's 46 feet high from the ground level to the top Six feet wide you could drive a chariot and horses around it and god says you're gonna take that wall You're gonna take that Do you realize what those walls were doing those walls are doing the exact same thing Your physical malady is saying Your your bankruptcy is saying You'll never recover again You failed in this marriage. Don't even give another shot at relationships that last church hurt your feelings It's like last church at your feelings. You never be the same. This is your mentality. You're always going to be a victim You're never going to overcome you're never going to get that you know, you don't you don't qualify That's always going to be screaming at you because those walls were shouting something and those walls were shouting You will never get beyond this point in your life You will never get never get free from this addiction. You will never get free from your prejudice You will never get free from homosexuality. You'll never get away from these things. You are just bound this way That's what walls shout at god's people

And sometimes those walls aren't satan's building We build them ourselves And the way we build them is we use the bricks of the past And then we take the mortar of the pain of that experience and it's the mortar that holds that past experience together It becomes the bonding that just keeps building on this and this and this and this well That's the way your husband treats you. That's what your new husband's treating. That's why your last job What's that's the way the last church was that's what happened. God failed you then he's going to fail you now You know you tried this before and so you take all the pain of the sexual abuse and just keep pounding and then the pain Mortars it together and we keep building on top and on top and on top and then what happens is we actually build something Where we won't allow god to get in and we keep other people out who may want to help you We've been hurt. We've been betrayed abused emotionally verbally abused mentally abused and now we imprison ourselves and we isolate ourselves by Using the bricks of what your son or your daughter said or your former relationship or what? Somebody said and we just keep piling on said I told you that's just what they're like And then we take the mortar of our pain and we keep building it and building it and building and satan doesn't have to do Anything we just keep stacking the bricks and laying the mortar and what happens is The true you and the true pastor sam stays behind that and we miss god's best because we allow The past sins and the past experiences with the mortar of our pain to hold us imprisoned inside that And it holds everything back Not only that but it holds the true you back So the only thing we get to see about some people and then they bounce to another church They get offended and bounce to another place bounce to another relationship We never get to know the true you all we get to know are your walls That's all we get to know all we get to know is your mask we just get to know your walls So all we see are these tough walls And people are just getting louder and louder and yelling at each other louder and louder and louder Everybody's acting tough. Everybody's acting tough, but behind the back of that wall Is the broken you? The pain the divorce the bankruptcies

God offended I'm going to tell you something god is getting ready to give you some confident faith To start tearing down the walls because I am going to tell you satan fears what I am saying to you right now He hates me. He fears me. But more importantly he is afraid of you hearing what i'm saying right now Can I listen some of you afraid to launch out into business? You're afraid to go get your degree You're afraid to step out afraid to try a new relationship Afraid to try the things of god and the spirit because of all the fears that you got put up Can I just give you a message today? Satan is Deathly afraid of you He's so scared of you He's afraid of you. How do I know he's afraid of you go to Joshua chapter 6 verse 1 Let me take a look at this real quick. It says now the gates of Jericho were tightly shut Why? Why were they tightly shut? because The people were afraid of the Israelites They were afraid of some people with nothing but a bugle and a horn Marching around they're afraid now. Why do you think they were afraid? I'll tell you why they're afraid because they've already heard about Pharaoh Being destroyed. They've already heard about the plagues that came on Egypt They already heard about Pharaoh's army drowning in the Red Sea. They heard about how the Jordan River backed up They had already been hearing the witness of what God had done in other places and other things and Satan the enemy was Absolutely afraid because they had heard they didn't see nothing. They just been hearing about it So here's my point to you that confident faith that you're sitting inside about inside of you. God says you've already run I've already given you a promise. Are you hearing this? So what's really happening is the more you grow in faith If faith faith has two effects it puts in it either puts in confidence or It puts in fear the Word of God puts in faith or it puts in fear So if God's Word and what he did for others to heal them if God restored somebody else's marriage if God freed someone else from Addictions if God freed somebody else from sexual addictions and you're hearing about this Satan is afraid you're hearing these testimonies Because what happened to them is what's getting ready to happen to you

So let me tell you what's happening faith is building in you But fear is building in Satan and the more you hear the Word of God the more the Holy Spirit gets inside of you the more afraid Satan gets of you because your family's getting ready to change your marriage is getting ready to change your healings getting ready to change Somebody ought to give God a shout of praise and bring the wall down. He knows it's gonna happen. He knows it Don't let me preach this all by myself some of you need to just start getting a little bit vocal Because he's actually deathly afraid of you, ma'am He is deathly afraid you're gonna stop being a victim He is deathly afraid of that That you're gonna start discovering who God is inside of you and it doesn't take much for God to win You've already won see look what it says in verse 2. It says then the Lord said to Joshua see I have already Watch this. I have delivered Jericho into your hands They haven't even started to walk yet Okay, they're not even warming up the kazoos They're not even doing that yet and God says see I have delivered Jericho near God is speaking in past tense and Not the situation is just the same it's already done I am here to tell you something that God's Spirit and his word is coming alive in you and faith is arising that prophetic word was not accident Some of you need to start seeing the thing that has held you hostage and you and your family and your personal life and you need to start hearing what God is saying by the power of the Holy Spirit and Fear is being struck in Satan right now because there's gonna be people set free from addictions in this place today They're gonna be people healed in this room today. There are gonna be marriages that are gonna be restored today They're gonna be businesses that are gonna thrive today. There are people gonna get their education. I'm telling you Satan is deathly afraid Because of what's gonna get in you I Want to hurry up because I want to cut to the chase listen, he's putting not just faith in you he's putting confident faith in you and Faith cometh by hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing and hearing now

Once God speaks that promise to you. You got to stay concentrated in what he said You don't just have to have confident faith. You need to have concentrated faith Absolute focus on what now let's go to Joshua chapter 2 again. He says see I Have delivered Jericho into your hands ever. What's the first thing he said? see see Yes, see He's saying see it see See When you see the word see it is a it is a definite call of God To view this through the eye of faith and not what is naturally sitting right now in your marriage, your home, your physical body, or what you see the condition of this nation in. Are you here in this church? You need to start going to God and see what He sees, and you need to say, see. Yes, that's what I'm going to say. I'm going to stick with that, God. Because what's going to happen is the moment God starts saying things to you, there are going to be other things that are going to make you lose your focus. And you lose focus because we see this. Are you ready for this? First of all, we see no solution at all. And when you ask God what's the solution, He gives you something absolutely bizarre. They see Jericho that is the first place hindering them and their enemies behind the wall. And God says, they said, there's no solution here, God. There's no way. We got some trumpets and a shout. That's all we got. How are we going to do this? He says, I want you to march around the buildings every day or six days. And on the seventh day, you march seven times. And I want you to blow those trumpets when you go around. Now, I don't know about you, but I don't think that that's the strategy of our war department right now. Okay, here's what we're going to do. Y'all going to go into this enemy territory and you're going to march seven times. Nope.

No, no missiles. No stealth bombers. Just march. And then you, let's get the band, get the band, get the military band. Send them out. Get the chaplains. And you're going to blow this horn and the wall is going to come down. How many of you are defecting from that army right away? The thing is, is that God's plans to conquer Jericho seems foolish, but it worked. This is about absolute abandon and trust to God because you are so close to him, walking with him. This is why Isaiah, I think, said these words in Isaiah 55 verse eight. He says, my thoughts are nothing like your thoughts, says the Lord. My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Friends, this is the way God does it. It's like first Corinthians chapter 127. God chose the things the world considers foolish in order to shame those who think they are wise. And he chooses things that are powerless to shame those who are powerful. Now think about this for a moment, folks. God is telling him, I want you to go out there and I want you to go blow some horns and some trumpets. God said, what are you going to use? We're going to use trumpets. It's going to be Gideon. I want you to use, I want you to use torches, some clay pots and some torches and then start yelling real loud. Look at this. It's David with a sling. He's got nothing but five stones to take down a guy who's probably nine foot nine tallest, probably what they think Goliath was. And God says, here, use these smooth stones to knock down this guy that's big enough to eat hay and dumb enough to enjoy it. The guy looks like he's been birthed by a nuclear plant. But this is what God does, you all, is we start strategizing in our flesh. And God says, let me show you something that's so profound and so powerful.

I'm going to use something that is powerless to destroy something that is powerful. Listen, what God does always doing this. Don't you get it? All the demonic gods of Egypt that help God's people in slavery for 400 years. You know what God uses to whip them? He uses a little one-year-old lamb and tells them to apply the blood, the picture of Jesus Christ, and they walk out free and destroy their armies. This is what God does all the time. Listen, when God, Jesus wants to send the gospel of Jesus Christ around the world, what does he do? He doesn't go to seminaries of our, of our, of our Bible universities. That's where he goes. He picks 12 guys, apostles. I mean, he's picking guys that are like fishermen, murderers to be apostles. He's picking guys that are tax collectors. Now, come on. How many know when IRS agents start preaching the gospel in the United States of America, we're having a revival? Come on, amen? You're seeing the move of God. What does God do? God always uses the seemingly insignificant and powerless to shame the powerful in the kingdom of darkness. When God has a thousand of his enemies, Philistines, what does he do? What does he do? He puts the jawbone of an ass in the hand of a backslider by the name of Samson and knocks them down. More of you are concerned that I said ass than you are you going in and tear down the walls. That's, you're more concerned about that. But that's what he does. When God's looking for a, when God is looking. looking for someone to be the one that will save his lineage so Jesus Christ can come. What does he use? He uses a 17 year old teenager by the name of Joseph puts him inside of a prison in Egypt and takes this Jewish boy and makes him second-in-command to Pharaoh to deliver God's people to preserve the lineage of

the Jews whereby Jesus Christ can come whereby you can be saved. I'm telling you over and over when God is looking for the vessel to put the divine seed in that Jesus Christ can come what does he use? He takes a little 13 year old girl who's from an obscure family that's in poverty by the name of Mary and he puts the divine seed in and Jesus comes forth. I am telling you over and over and over you may seem absolutely weak but that is what God uses to confound the powers of darkness when you have no solution at all. None. And you will lose your focus when you say well we don't have any more money left God but I've been to every doctor. God shows up when there's no solution don't lose your focus. He gives up when there's no progression. Just because you don't see progress is not listen because progress is not obvious right now doesn't mean God's not working. I said just because you can't see anything budging right now in your physical body your finances or in your school or even in your nation does not mean God is not at work. Think about these guys walking around there what a ridiculous instruction. Go march around the walls. Blow them trumpets. Could you imagine as the husband of one of these warriors reporting to your wife after work? I mean you think after day two maybe there's a tremor little earthquake little brick falling dirt coming out just like the movies but you've been marching day two you come to your wife but what'd you do today? What did Joshua do today? Well Joshua wanted us to march get a get a feel for marching and what'd you do in the third day? Oh well we marched again. Boy I'm feeling great I got my 10k steps in. He wants us to get a vision he wants us to get a vision for the for the city wants to get us a vision for that city. Could you imagine? Sixth day on the sixth day could you imagine that? What would you do today? Well we marched and blew the trumpet and just marched and blew the trumpets. Yeah we stopped for a minute took a little breather and picked back up home again. Could you imagine? Could you imagine? God rarely reveals the whole picture to you and me when he calls us to act on something that seems absolutely ridiculous and I think I understand now what the Hebrews 11 8

talks about Abraham this way it said he went out not knowing where he's going he left his family he left his pagan nation he left his family and God said start walking in that direction and they said where you going he said I don't know I'm just acting and I'm keeping on moving with God. See sometimes folks I say it a lot it's not about you mounting up with wings as eagles flying above the deal everyone's the amount of wings if sometimes it's just taking one step and putting one foot in front of the other and keep walking without fainting that you don't see the healing you don't see your kids coming to Jesus you don't see the nation changing you don't see things happening in your company right but you just keep hearing God and you bet what my husband's not doing my husband my boyfriend's I'm I didn't know you keep walking right and you keep putting one foot in front of the other stop blaming your spouse don't blame the other person don't blame the company quit blaming the nation you just put one foot in front of the other and just listen to God and say Lord I don't know what's gonna happen I don't see anything moving but I'm gonna keep walking I'm gonna keep getting up in the morning I'm gonna keep reading your word I'm gonna keep praying I don't you say but I'm in debt pastor you just keep tithing you keep stewarding your money you keep watching God help you you start managing start having delayed gratification you don't have to have everything your neighbors have or your mom and daddy had just put one foot in front of the other and keep walking you want your healing just keep believing God's Word listen to what your doctor says and just keep on walking your kids are still cussing they're still living a lifestyle that you says a contrary to the Word of God you just keep praying you keep fasting and you keep walking because your prayers have no expiration date and what may seem unfoolish to you is God working his will some of you about really lose your focus because you see no progression you see no solution and some of you see no conclusion you've been at this a long time we have been married 42 years pastor I've been praying a long time it seems like it's never gonna change in this country it's never gonna change in my life this is the way it's gonna be

Cause you see no conclusion. You see no side and end. He's keep walking. Did you know, let me tell you a little about Jericho just for a moment. Did you know that Jericho, the beginning of Jericho, the city of Jericho starts back clear back to the ninth millennium BC is what historians say. That gives Jericho the designation as the oldest city in the world. How long did it sit there destroying people? But here comes the people of God that do something fantastic with nothing but a horn, a shout and obedience and take something that has sat there for generations and generations and never budged. Do you know what I believe today? I believe some of you are getting ready today to destroy generational curses off of your family and off of you and say, this is done through Jesus Christ. I really believe that. Do you know how you stay in that place? When you see no conclusion, you see no solution. You see no progression. Pastor, what do I do? I'm going to make this very simple for you. Would you stay in God's presence? It's real easy to say, well, I'm going to abandon this. It's not working. Stay in God's presence. Let me prove my point. Let me show my point here. Joshua chapter 12, six verse 12, excuse me. He said, Joshua got up early in the next morning. This is the last day. And the priest again carried the ark of the Lord. Seven priests with Ram's horns marched in front of the ark of the Lord, blowing their trumpets. Do you know what the ark of the Lord was, what it was to them? It's a picture of what we have. The ark was the presence of God. God. And when you carry the presence of God and you, and all you've got is God's presence and a shout and a trust and an abandoned to him, you can take down walls. Everybody, no matter how long it takes, no solution, no progression, seemingly no conclusion. I don't care how long it takes. You just keep putting one foot. Some days for pastor Brennan and me, it's just putting one foot in front of the other, but with each step I'm in the presence of God. I'm not removing myself. I could care less what everybody else does. I'm staying in his presence. I don't care what the world does. I don't care what the popular says. I'm just going to put one foot in front of there. I want to stay in his presence and obey him because there's a set. There's a day seven coming folks. And seven is significant because seven actually means completion in the word of God, perfection, fully satisfied seven. That's what means on the seventh day, God created her and then he rested. What's the point here? Seven days. The point is this. God is simply

saying, whatever I start, I'm going to finish. That's what he's trying to tell you. It's not about something happened on the seventh day. It's just, um, whatever I start, I finish. So my, my word to you, sir, my, my word to you that are struggling with addictions and you're trying to walk for God. You keep putting one foot in front of the other and walking the power of what he did on the cross. You are already victorious. You're not walking to victory. You're walking from victory. You've already got, you've got everything in you. You may only have a horn and you're just marching, but just keep marching because I believe Hebrews chapter 10 verse 35. So don't throw away your confidence. It will be richly rewarded. Just keep on walking. Come on. Do Galatians chapter six, verse nine. Let us not become weary in taking one step after the other, doing good for at the proper time, we will reap a harvest. If we do not give up, come on, just keep walking. Weeping may endure for the night, but joy, but joy is coming in the morning. You say, well, pastor, what does that mean when you're in his presence? Just keep your cry of faith. They begin to shout their praise. You say, well, what does the cry of faith sound like? It sounds like praise. That's what it sounds like. You want to know what faith sounds like? It sounds like your praise. It sounds like your worship. So in that final verse, Joshua six 20, it says, when the people heard the sound of the Ram's horn, They shouted as loud as they could. Suddenly the walls of Jericho collapsed. The Israelites charged straight into the town and they captured it. Now I don't know what it is for you but see praise is faith in action to me. It means I'm already praising as if it's already done. So you see me getting on my scooter. You know I'm fixing to take off. And you're getting ready to take off. Because a lot of you you're about to give up and you're on lap seven. You're about to quit. Because you see no solution.

You see no progression. You see no conclusion. And you're losing your concentration. You get your faith while you're in here because we're all shouting. But when you get out there and you go into that home with all the unsafe family members you got to keep that worship and that praise in your heart. And some of you are getting ready to give up because it's just not working for me. It's just not working for me. You wish it was like NASCAR, don't you? Do we have any NASCAR fans in here? Of course you're not going to admit it, are you? Don't you wish you had a white flag? You've been going and circling, circling, circling, circling. And you know at least that when they pop a white flag out it's only one lap left. But in life, you don't get a white flag that this is the last lap. But just be obedient to God because you are on lap seven. You may be at day one. You may be day six. But just keep marching. And keep in the presence of God because there's going to come a time where God says this shout is going to be different than any other shout that you've given before. Because this time you're going to see the victory and the breakthrough.
