Eating For Two // Happy & Hungry (Part 1) // Michael Todd

I'm praying for you. Man, I've had the opportunity to meet some of you as you've gotten out, and I just want to let you know that God's playing for you. It's bigger than where you are at this current moment. This is a day of transformation for you, and I believe as you listen to this, something's going to change on the inside of you. Well, today we're starting a brand new series. I need you to tell everybody. Matter of fact, I need you to let everybody know at lunch today, or when you get time around your people, let them know there's a new series called Happy and Hungry. And those are usually two words that don't go together, but you're going to see through how God's word that he weaves together these two words and helps us see a brand new revelation of how we're supposed to live. Today's message is called eating for two. I can't wait for you to hear this. I got a word to preach today, and this thing about to eat all of us up. Because today, we're starting a brand new series called Happy and Hungry. Say it with me. Happy and hungry. Just one more time. Happy and hungry. These two words are words that usually never go together. Because most of the times that you hungry? Okay, where's the church at today? How many people you know your attitude gets a little off when you hungry? Come on, hands high. Come on, we're a humble, open and transparent church. Some of y'all have been acting wrong all through worship because you didn't get your McMuffin. Come on, let's be. Why do you think that is? Why does our hunger affect our attitude? Why does our hunger affect our actions? There are some people I even know that they're like, "Let me alone. I got to get something in mind. I got to eat something. And if I eat something, then I'll be okay." Anybody? I just need some sugar. Some of you, you're addicted. I just need some coffee. And it's crazy how our hunger many times drives our actions. Happy and hungry. When I begin to think about this topic, matter of fact, I need you to tell you how this happened because this doesn't happen to me often. But this series was a straight download from God. I was in my bed on sabbatical. And you know that time right before you wake up, where you were a little conscious, but you can tell stuff is happening, but you're not really awake yet. And literally, I have this whole dream in that state. I saw the stage, I saw the box, I saw happy and hungry. It was like a download. And the Holy Spirit said, "Michael, it's time to challenge the church's appetite." And I woke up. And I just started going. I was just like, I was trying to be like, "Lord, please don't let me -- you know how? Because it's like you see it, and then it's gone." What? No. And this one, I was able to capture. And I've been holding it

because God wanted me to tell you that it's time to get hungry for the right things. Happy and hungry. Matthew, chapter 5, verse 6. This will be our text for the entire time we are in this series. And please tell your neighbor we're in it to Christmas. Yeah. I'm about to a dog walk this whole thing. Because this is going to transform your mind. Okay. And anybody that knows if your mind is going to be transformed, you can't go over it one time. If something is going to become a part of the fabric of your life and the principles that you live by, we've got to go over and over and over. So I want you to read Matthew, chapter 5, verse 6. This came in my download, the Holy Spirit said, Matthew 5. I said, "Oh my goodness, blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled." Hold on, wait. Blessed, happy, joyful is what that word means. Are those who are hungry? Happy and hungry. Physically, you're not usually happy when you're hungry, but what if spiritually that is how it's designed? That the only way that you can be fulfilled and blessed or happy Is if you are hungry, read it one more time. there's a promise. If you are hungry for the right thing, if you are hungry and thirsty for the righteousness, the promise is you'll be full. And the problem with so many of us is we are consuming things and still living empty. You think that will make you happy and you still aren't fulfilled. How much sex can you have? Okay. How much money can you get? How in the world you get a hundred million dollar contract and still contemplate suicide? How in the world do you get all the degrees? How in the world do you do all of the things that you thought would feel you up and still you live empty because you're hungry for the wrong thing? God is giving us the formula to be happy and hungry. He said you got to hunger and thirst after righteousness. He said if you get the right thing on your plate, you'll never be hungry again. And for so many of us that come to church and praise and give and serve, you still are just as hungry as the people that don't know God. Why is that Pastor Mike? Because you're consuming the same thing they are. Eating culture all day. Oh my God. She ugly. Oh my God. Oh, the glory to God, that is powerful. I bet she bet that she would never say that to me. [ Laughter ] The emotional skits of Frinnia you go through just scrolling online. I'll fight them for them. Uh-uh. Don't do that. Oh, she has got it to you. Oh my God. Oh my God.

[ Laughter ] Empty. Still hungry. That's why then you go to your TV with three million channels. Don't know what to watch. Got cooking channels, baking channels. You got live TV. You got old movies, new movies. You got cartoons from when you was kids. You got cartoons today that don't make no sense. I don't know what happened to the cartoons. They are crazy. You got anime. Think about all the things you can consume. Still at the end of the night depressed. Can DoorDash everything? Glue, tape. It ain't even food no more. I need some red scissors. DoorDash. Donuts, ice cream. Four o'clock in the morning and dropping it off. If somebody would pull up to your house three or four years ago at four o'clock in the morning, you'd be like, what? We get robbed. Now you're like, oh, no, don't worry. That's my ice cream. Sitting in bed with a tub of ice cream. Y'all don't act like steel unfulfilled. More money in the bank than your parents ever had. Sit in there. Bank account own swole, but can't buy your way to peace. Why? Because you have been consuming. You've just been consuming something that can't feel you up. I'm going to say it one more time. Everybody's been consuming, but we've been consuming things that the Bible tells us will never be able to fulfill you. Oh, let me talk to the church people. You have been loving and lusting after a platform. And now you're on the conference flyer and you're singing the A and B selection and you get on here and you got your own church. Glory to God. You got 37 members at your online church. Hear what I'm saying to you, but you still go home dealing with comparison. Why? It's because you're still hungry. Maybe it's not. If we're eating, maybe it's what we're eating. Bless their those who hunger and thirst for what righteousness promise for they shall be filled. So let me give you a principle of the kingdom. Everybody stay with me because I got I gotta be your professor, that's why I wore these glasses for this first. Everything in the kingdom of God is opposite. Say that with me. Everything in the kingdom of God is opposite. One more time.

Everything in the kingdom of God is, if you want to gain your life, you have to. So anytime, if you want to be blessed, you have to give, okay? If you want to live, you have to. Everything in the kingdom of God is opposite. So if you want to be blessed, you got to be hungry. So write this down as my first point because I'm a walk of students. It's a blessing to be hungry. I got to change your mind that when you wake up in the morning, that thing in you that's like, man, I do need to pray, or man, I do need to read my Bible, or man, I do need to spend some time with God. Maybe I shouldn't turn on ESPN now. Maybe I should sit in silence in solitude for a second. I know I'm about to go and get these kids together, but let me just take a moment and get my day together. Father God, in this moment, I need you. Father God, today, I hunger and thirst after righteousness. I want to be right with you, Father. I want to be in right connection with others, Father God. I know yesterday I custom out God and I didn't mean to, but really, yes, I did mean to. God, I did. And I did custom really good, God. But today, I'm just asking you to put a bridle on my tongue, Father God, because today I want to represent you, and I want to live in holiness and righteousness, Father. And my husband, he's on my nerves, God. He's not attracted to me right now, God. It's only because he is not being romantic, and he does not actually help me with the needs of this house. But, Father God, let me see him, how you see him, Father God. And let me be able to put encouragement in today, Father God, because right now I want to knock him out.

Thank God in the name of Jesus, he still want to do the thing, and I don't even want to touch him. But, God, I thank you that you, y'all want to know how to live? I want you to hear the context of the Scripture. Put it up on the screen one more time, because this is the revelation. Matthew 5 and 6 are blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be, feel, watch it, it doesn't say they are righteous. He said, blessed are those who just desire it. Hear how God gives everybody the opportunity. He said, if you just turn towards the desire of righteousness, you'll be filled up. He didn't say blessed are those who are righteous. That would have been a whole different scripture, blessed are those who are righteous. Blessed are those who just hunger and thirst are a description of what your desire is. When you're hungry, that means you have a desire. When you're thirsty, that means you have a desire. God is saying, blessed are those who just desire what I want. They desire what's right. They desire justice, they desire peace, they desire to love their enemy. They just desire it, not that you even did it yet. Look at the grace of God that He says, I just need you to lean in the direction of desire. Blessed are those who, do you even desire to forgive them? If you just desire to forgive them, somehow you would fall into forgiveness. Oh my God, He said, if you would just turn towards the right way to do it, He said, you would be filled up. Do you desire to raise your kids, Godly? Are you making them pay for what happened to you? What my momma did to me, just desire to train them in the way they should go so that when they get old, they won't depart. If you would just desire, do you desire to be generous, like He was generous? This what I'm saying, I just need you to hear me, the weight is lifted when you realize

you don't have to be something, you just have to desire it. And when you desire it, then He helps you become what you could never become by yourself. Somebody should give God praise right to hear for the grace of God. So it's a blessing to be hungry, and when I thought about hunger and food, it took me down a trail in my life. The trail started with me thinking about tomorrow is my son MJ's 11th birthday, y'all. MJ's gonna be 11, he's a big boy. And so I was thinking about MJ turning 11, and then as I was thinking about MJ turning I'm just giving you inside my brain for a second. it was like I had a crazy dream last night. I was like, really, what was it about? She said, I dream we had another child. I said, the devil is a liar. (audience laughs) I said, the devil is a liar and I rebuke you, say to him. And after we finished talking about that nightmare, I started to think about, (audience laughs) I started to think about and reminisce on when she was pregnant with MJ. And one of the things that used to happen all the time when Natalie was pregnant with MJ is we always would go out to eat. And when we would go out to eat, I realized that there was something that kind of switched in our eating pattern when she was pregnant. Usually we would just get there and then we would order our meal and then be done. But every time that we started going out

while she was pregnant, there was appetizers, entrees, two of them usually, she wanted to taste stuff. She wanted to taste other things. There was dessert, there was drinks, there were slushies, there were all kinds of things. And she would look at me and she's like, don't look at me like that, I'm eating for two. (audience laughs) And the eating for two was like her way of saying, like I'm growing something on the inside of me, I'm eating for two. And she had weird obsessions with pickles and random things, she couldn't stand the smell of hot dogs but loved all these other things. And I started thinking that though many of us are not pregnant right now, you're still eating for two. (audience exclaims) There are people that are under the sound of my voice. Every single person are eating for two 'cause there's a flesh you and a spirit you. And I found out that when my wife said we're eating for two, that wasn't a conversation, that was a declaration. I'm eating for two. I needed to come and tell everybody in transformation nation and everybody watching online and everybody watching in the prison through the pando app. You're eating every day for two. You're flesh man and you're spirit man. And you can act like you're just one person

but the Bible tells us that you have two natures that are at war on the inside of you every day you wake up. It reminds me of this old poem. It says, "Two natures beat within my chest. "One is foul and one is blessed. "One I love and one I hate, the one I feed will dominate." (audience exclaims) My question is which you are you feeding? Today the title of my message is eating for two. If God says we are blessed to hunger and thirst after righteousness, then we have to decide who are we feeding every day we wake up. The music we listen to is feeding one of you. Oh, this just my jam. When I was back in college, that's how you got that baby too. Okay, let's be very clear. Let's be very clear. There was a soundtrack to your sin. Let's be very clear. There are certain songs that are, woo, does something. You felt a tingle when they started the tango. You hear me? That bass does something to your booty. What is happening? Y'all, okay, I thought I was in a real church today. All I'm saying to you is everything you put in you is feeding one of y'all.

It's just a movie, it's just a lunch. It's just a romantic novel. Yeah, them graphics get real graphic in there. You getting hot and bothered on the plane. Own your way to the prayer meeting. (audience laughing) You watching all these people telling you 10x it, 10x it, 10x it, where are their families? God told you to focus on your family and your condition and you watching all these people and now you're in comparison 'cause your business hasn't 10x this year. You're feeding something. And I'm saying it's different for everybody 'cause if you have a spirit of vain ambition, whatever you feed, it's growing something. Okay, look at your neighbor and say it's growing. Pastor Mike, what are you trying to say? You can be saved and still have an appetite for things that sabotage you. Hear what I just said to you, depending on how you eat every day. This is not a set it. and you had one big buffet meal for three days and you think you're gonna survive off of that? It's what you eat today. It's what you watch after this sermon. 'Cause right now you're watching on YouTube and there's some crazy things under this post. Yeah, right there, they're right there.

Because you're watching this and you watched that last week and you need to delete the history. 'Cause your computer is feeding you what your flesh wants. Now I'm just looking it up for informational purposes. Cool, but you feed one of y'all. Which one's bigger? Which one of you is bigger? If I could see your spirit man and your flesh man standing, who would punk who? Who would bully who? Reason you can't control your tongue is 'cause your spirit man is weak. So you got a cuss every time something happens 'cause you don't feel like you have more language and it feels automatic. It's just because your spirit man ain't in a long time. So you can wanna do right. You can wanna be like, man, I don't even wanna say these words. And I'm like, I bet you the F we about to say these words. Why? It's 'cause one of them's stronger. But they don't get stronger than their own. Oh my God. They get strong when you feed them. That's why a mother's primary job is not to worry about anything else with this little alien baby that they don't know how to take care of.

Mother's primary job is to do what? Feed it. 'Cause if you feed it, it grows. And a healthy thing grows. And I'm saying to you right now, when you go home, whatever you watch or listen to after this, whatever you allow in your house, it's feeding one of the people that are inside of you. Your flesh man or your spirit man, who's getting stronger today? There's certain atmospheres you can't go into. Well, let's stay birthday party. If I go to that club, if I go to that kickback, even if I don't do nothing, I'm fighting this whole time and just watching it like, whoa. Whoa. She is blessed. (laughs) Bless. Hey, no, no, no, no, no, no, I don't drink that no more. I mean, what is your birthday one shot? (laughs) Father, son of the Holy Spirit, I had to do it. Jesus, drink one. What are you feeding? What are you feeding? You listen to people that only sow seeds of division. Oh, I'm talking to all y'all political people,

watching every snooze channel, political pundit, on this side, on that side, election is up in here, and you're literally watching people be divisive all day. Do you know division is a sin? You're feeding something. Why do you think you can't get along with anybody at your job? 'Cause you think everything's a debate. Okay. (laughs) You're feeding something. Galatians 5, 16. 'Cause y'all think I'm making this up. So I say to you, let the Holy Spirit guide your lives. Then you won't be doing what your sinful nature craves. The sinful nature, here it is, exposure. The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants you to do. Has anybody ever dealt with that? Like, you wanna do something good, but something you wants to do the wrong thing? All right. It says, and the Spirit, watch this, gives us desires that are opposite of what our sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other. So you are not free to carry out your good intentions. But when you are directed by the Spirit,

you are not under obligation to the law of Moses. He says, when the Spirit leads you, you don't even need rules. Some of y'all always like, is it in the New Testament, is it in Old Testament, is it a sin? When the Spirit leads you, I don't even, he keeps me so far away from the edge. The Spirit ain't got me walking on the edge of temptation and sin. When I let the Spirit lead me, he said, you are fine. You don't gotta worry about stealing 'cause we don't even be close to stealing. You don't have to worry about fornication and falling into love 'cause we're not even for, we are focused on purpose, focused on what God has called us to, focused on what he has designed us for. And he said, you don't need the laws if you're being led by the Spirit. Laws are for those who are not. Oh my goodness. So what are you saying Pastor Mike? The conclusion that I come to after our regulations 516 is the Holy Spirit is imperative for me to live a life that is actually how God intended for us to leave it. So write this down at a point. The only healthy option is the Holy Spirit. The only healthy option isn't Holy Spirit. That's why every day, I have to consult him every day.

This is why some of y'all have such an infatuation with Jesus and God, but you've never been introduced to the third person of the Trinity, which is the Holy Spirit. He's the only one, I can't even go into the whole thing right now, you need to go watch a series I did called the upgrade, but it will help you understand the person of the Holy Spirit, the truth of the matter, he's the only one active on the earth today. Jesus said it is better for me that I go, the disciples wanted Jesus to stay. He was like, no, I'ma be crucified, y'all sins are gonna be forgiven. If you believe on me, you will have eternal life and you get the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit will lead and guide you into all truth. He's your lawyer, he's your advocate. He's the one that protects you, he's the paraclete, the one who comes alongside of you to help. When you in trouble, he's the one that pulls you out. He's the one that say, turn this way instead of that way and you say something told me, that was the Holy Spirit. (congregation cheering) When you acknowledge the Holy Spirit, he starts speaking even louder. That's why we sing this song, let us become more aware of your presence. When I wake up, that's not just a vibe, that's the holy spirit. So the only healthy option is the Holy Spirit, Acts chapter one, verse eight.

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes up on you. That's not, let me help you. If you've been in church for any length of time, the power is not so you can fall out. The Holy Spirit is in its womb with your fingers, hold power, excuse, you now have a headache 'cause your failing to catch her was not equipped for your weight. What I'm saying to y'all, I know y'all seen that happen, bow and hit the flow 'cause they do not live. And what I'm saying to you is that does happen, but that is not the totality of experiencing the power of the Holy Spirit. The power of the Holy Spirit is realized when you do the thing that you wanted to do and you didn't do it. The power of the Holy Spirit makes you say no. When they call you and you horny and it's 1 a.m. and nobody would know. Oh, y'all, all right, the power of the Holy Spirit makes you pick up the hundred dollars and go ask, is this anybody's? Oh, 'cause I know y'all church folks, oh my God, it's a blessing. What if it was a test? What if it was a test? The Holy Spirit will convict you, turn around, go ask that person if they need prayer. Well, God, I don't know them, but I do. He said, but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. Watch this and you will be my witnesses

telling people about me some places. It says everywhere in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, into the ends of the earth. He's trying to let you know that the only healthy option is the Holy Spirit because there's two natures inside of you, the Spirit you and the flesh you and watch it and you can't cast out the flesh you. There's no amount of prayer. There's no profit in this earth that can take the sinful nature out of you. You have to put it under submission. And this is why people fail is 'cause they go through seasons and stints of thinking, oh, I'm doing better with that. Now I can control it. No, no, no, no, no. This is every day you have to submit to the power of the Holy Spirit. I'm so grateful you've gone six months without looking at pornography. But tomorrow, if you get in, if you get in the wrong environment or see the wrong thing, you need the power of the Holy Spirit to restrain that temptation that is on the inside of you to go back to things when you get under pressure, when you get tired, when you are disappointed, what do you go to? You usually go to your lower appetite. What you eating? Misery? Mistakes?

See, I—no, no, no, no, no. And this is why you need the Holy Spirit. The old songs would have said, "Power, Lord, power, Lord, I need power, power, Lord, I need power, power, power to walk right, power, Lord, power to talk right, power to live right, power, power, power, power, power, this is not power to sing in church. It's power so I can give what I didn't want to give. It's power to ask my wife for forgiveness when there was like 14% of it she was still wrong about. Y'all know, it's just that little percentage, I just need her acknowledge that she was wrong, and then I can actually forgive, but like that 14% is really taking me back right now." A week of division, 'cause you don't have power to kill your flesh. Somebody say, "I'm eating for two." Say it, "I'm eating for two." Who are you gonna feed this week? Why do we release this album? It's 'cause I need to give you something to eat. Why do we tell everybody to get a Bible? 'Cause you need to eat. Why do you need to set a limit of how much you're on social media? It's 'cause depending on what you eat, it will depend on how you live. James chapter 1 verse 14, we almost done for today 'cause y'all can't take too much more. Here we go. James chapter 1 verse 14, "Temptation comes from our own desire." Stop, wait a minute, wait, hold on, wait, wait, one second, hold on, wait. You mean that I'm not getting tempted by the devil? You mean the devil's not out to get me? No, no, no, no, no. When has anybody ever been a Costco or a Sam's Club? The only reason you leave Sam's Club with a 35 pound bag of barbecue weenies is because

when you was walking by to go get the family size deodorant, there was a little woman there behind the little thing and she said, "Would you like to taste the little barbecue weenie?" You know, you was hungry, but you've been trying to hold it 'cause you'd be like, "I'm buying groceries, I'm gonna go home and cook." But oh my God, God made a ram in the bush, a little weenie. And then you take that little weenie and you eat it and you're like, "Thank you, thank you, thank you." Then you roll back by making a different face. How many people I've gone past them little stands three or four times? Can I just, my grandma wanted to, granny wanted to try, she in a wheelchair, lion, sin, get another weenie. The only reason you go to that frozen food section and buy the 30 pound bag of them little things, is not 'cause you love that food, it's 'cause you tasted it. So what the scripture is saying, the enemy only feeds you what you already put on the menu. So if women are on the menu, he gonna keep showing you women if greed is on the menu, if darkness and deception is on the menu, if, do y'all hear what I'm saying to you? Because our temptation, there are certain things I am not tempted by any seafood. I hate seafood. All see, she said, "Me too, what's your name, Shelley, me and you? We're gonna get chicken." You know what I'm saying, forget the fish, okay, here I love being in Tulsa with country people. This is, what I'm saying to you is, if you brought out salmon freshly caught from Alaska, lobster, this be, you bring out all the, what else, what other seafood, shrimp, and clams and a seafood boil, and yeah, granny, granny, granny. That's why you can't judge where other people are, based on where you are, because they can show up in a space and be the light in the middle of the darkness. But the reason you can't go there and be the light, because you like what's on the menu

in there. And what God is saying to you is, you better stop judging them and get the appetite for what I called you to have. You better be in the restaurant, I've called you to be in. How dare pastor might make a movie. I have an appetite to help heal those in Hollywood. When the actors and celebrities, you're fainting over, give me their number in one prayer. I'm not trying to call them and see if I can pull up at the concert. So because my appetite is not for fame or stardom, I can be in that. And this is what I'm saying to you, is the devil's not tempting you more than you tempting you. Because you feed one of them natures and that nature is hungry and you keep feeding it and it keeps getting stronger and it's lifting weights and you keep putting it under pressure and then you keep feeding it and you keep feeding it and it says that temptation comes from our own desires. Watch this, which then entice us and drag us away. Some of you have not, people say, I've been backsliding, no, you was dragged away. This wasn't on moonwalk backwards. You didn't move, oh, the stage won't let me do it. And I was about to act up. That boot said nope. Hear what I'm saying to you though, some of y'all haven't slowly drifted from God. You was dragged. Your temptation been dragging you for the last four years. Your addictions, your desires, and it wasn't something the enemy had to even put in you because you were curious to taste it. And just the taste can change your entire appetite. It says verse 15, these desires, uh-oh, here we're back to birthing something, pregnant with something, these desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow and the only way something can grow is if it's fed, it

gives birth to death. I came to tell you in this first week of the Happy and Hungry series that you're pregnant with something. You're pregnant. And every time you eat, whether it is feeding your flesh or your spirit, it's growing. My question for you today is do you want to deliver what's growing on the inside of you? Do you want to deliver that lust that's growing on the inside of you? Do you want to deliver that anger? Do you want to deliver that deceit? Do you want to deliver those actions? You keep watching people, kill people. I would never do that, but yet you're feeding yourself. All I'm saying to you is the Bible tells us that the temptation comes from our own desires and then entices us and drags us away from the truth of God's Word. And then these desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, see some of you have just given it time without addressing it and it's getting bigger because every time you watch that show and every time you watch that movie and every time it comes out with a brand new series and every time you talk to that friend group and every time you don't delete that group chat, because that group chat pulls you into stuff you wouldn't even know about if they didn't text you. What's my high school friends? What are these friends doing for you? These are my college buddies. What are those college buddies doing? They're dragging you away. Romans 8, 5, and 6, oh my God. Those who are dominated by their sinful nature are their flesh you. Think about sinful things. But those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit, think about things that please the Spirit. This is a quick test.

How much do you think about things that please the Spirit? It will let you know right now who's winning in your life. [BLANK_AUDIO] Verse six, so letting your sinful nature control your mind leads to death. But letting the spirit control your mind, watch this leads to life and peace. God, I wanna have a great life. God, I just wanna life forward peace. You want peace, let the spirit lead. You want life, let the spirit lead. You want love, let the spirit lead. And most of us, we're letting our flesh or our appetite lead. I need to show you my appetite. I know you think your pastor's a man of God and he a little crazy, but he's consecrated. But let me show you what my appetite is like. Could you bring my appetite up here real quick? I just need y'all to see what's on the inside of me. Thank you so much. Hey, yeah, this my appetite right here, this horse. Come on, no, no, come on, come on. Yeah, shoot. Hey, hey, hey, appetite. Hey, yes, sit. 'Cause we're in church. And 'cause my appetite's in church. My appetite knows how to act in church. Oh, I'm not gonna smoke in here.

I'm not gonna be sexting in here. No, this is God's house, here I am to worship. But when I get out in these streets, this is a big dog. The crazy thing is, hold on, we're going this way. No, no, don't look over there, appetite. We're going this way. Appetite, appetite. It's crazy that because I've been feeding my appetite, if it doesn't wanna move, it doesn't have to move. And if my appetite, you wanna go see the people? Appetite? Oh, you don't. (audience laughs) You don't wanna meet my appetite? Somebody, I said, yo, I'm gonna be your appetite, well, I'm going in the back. No! No! The crazy thing is that my appetite goes with me everywhere. You think you're meeting a business leader, or you think you're meeting a nice man, or you think you're meeting no wonderful woman. But what happens is, come on, appetite this way. This, hold on. Yeah, we're gonna go this way, appetite. Yeah, all right, hold on, hold on. Come right here, appetite. Sit, sit, appetite. Sit. Sit.

Y'all think it's cute? (audience laughs) And that's what your appetite will do to you too. It will behave in the moments that you don't need it to act up, and you think it's cute to keep it like this. And you give your appetite streets, and you keep feeding it. But if I feed my negative appetite the wrong thing, what ends up happening is, I stay in a place where I'm always keeping others vulnerable. 'Cause if I come off this state, no, this way, big dog, (laughs) come on. And the truth of the matter is, I've got to a level of spiritual maturity where I can kind of control this most of the time. (audience chattering) And I think I'm doing a good Christian thing, 'cause I can control it most of the time. But this dog is big, and if this dog decides it wants to go over there, guess what it's gonna do to me? (audience laughs) What that scripture said, drag me away. But that's for the man who spends his life in the scriptures. But many of us aren't that mature. (audience laughs) In our walk, hold on, hey, hey.

This is somebody, hold on, hold on, appetite. That's my daughter, hold on, come this way. I feel this muscles. Hey, hey, calm down, calm down. We're okay, okay, yeah, okay, sit, appetite. (audience laughs) Sit. I love you. I love you, appetite. Now, come over here, Ava. Now, what kind of father, hold on, dog. What kind of, okay, why are you, I mean, all right. Now, I'm frantic now, because I'm trying to control an appetite that I don't fully have control over. And what would I look like if I handed the lease and walked away and let this dog be linked? Be late! Do you think that this dog could drag Ava across this stage? There is absolutely no doubt that my daughter would be an urgent care if I let go. No matter when I told her we were gonna do this example, she got excited. Yay, it's a dog! But she hadn't been there to see how much it had eaten and how big it had gotten. And this is what ends up happening is many of us are walking around spiritually looking like Ava, trying to lead our appetites. This is how you go to work.

This is how, yeah, your appetite lay down. Lay down, that's a good job. Whoa, whoa, whoa, okay, okay. That was real. I didn't like that, that scared me. That scared me! That really scared me! Whoa, that dog scared me! I thought we was having connection! That dog almost hit my face! All right, I'm done with this example. Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit, I need you! Holy Spirit, Holy Spirit! Spirit of the living God! Spirit, I need you! My appetite is out of control, it keeps barking! (congregation cheering) What did you say to it? See, the Holy Spirit doesn't even have to hold it. The Holy Spirit, this is Pastor Rose's real dog. The appetite knows his voice. So when I'm led by the, they look good together. (congregation laughing) Let's be honest, me and my daughter need a little dog. Do you hear what I'm saying? Shout out to Honey at the house! We love you, Honey! The great is dog for the dog squad. Diesel is the Holy Spirit's dog. And watch how the generations,

if we follow the Holy Spirit's lead, my appetite is being the one who leads me. Take him up here, he wants to go. But now I don't have to worry, and my daughter doesn't have to worry. The next generation will never have to worry when the Spirit of God leads us. My appetite is under control. When I am led by the Spirit, I think on things that the Spirit gives me to think, I'm led to the places where I am safe. Thank y'all, we y'all give it up for them real quick. (congregation cheering) Do you see the picture? Do you see the picture? Do you see the picture? There's a dog on the inside of you. (congregation cheering) That wants to drag you away, from the things that the Spirit wants for you. And I'm just telling you right now your destructive desires are dragging you. You don't need to change anything except who you're allowing to lead you. If you allow the Holy Spirit to lead you when certain things come on, you say I can't eat this. When everybody's talking a certain way is I have to leave here, I have to skew. And you ain't got to make everybody else feel bad because they still like that.

When I started living for God, there's certain conversations I could not have. There were certain people I couldn't talk to no more because I don't eat that no more. I don't eat that no more. I understand, and even things I liked. When I realized how bad they are for me, the only healthy option is the Holy Spirit. So next week, I'm gonna teach you how to meal prep. Oh, this series is gonna be good. Let me just give you four practical things. I'm just going to write them down so you can know where we're going to start next week. If you're going to eat the right meal this week, you can monitor your appetite. I need you to monitor your appetite. I need you to notice what you're allowing to go into your gates. Okay, it was the football game and then I watched this little, I went down this rabbit hole on TikTok and then I let my family get me all riled up and frustrated. But then I had some good conversations about this, oh, then I went to be group or I went to my tribe and I got some encouragement and then I went to that job and I almost killed everybody this week. I'm quitting. I just need you to observe and monitor. When you're going on some type of real transformation health diet situation, the first thing they ask you to do is tell me everything you eat. For this week, I want you to write down what you're consuming. Five hours on TikTok on Monday, three hours on the movie, two hours watching the game, 15 minutes talking to my spouse, why y'all acting, why y'all acting. Watch what you consume, monitor. The second thing is eat the word daily. If you want to figure out how to get a better meal, monitor first, but then I want you to

pick up this Bible every day. You don't know where to start, start in Proverbs. Start in Proverbs and just start eating. Just chapter one and just eat it and you're like, that was good, read it again. Read it again. You can't get enough of this. The Bible says the entrance of God's Word literally brings light to your life. God, I want you to see it in the Scripture. I'm going to go to Psalms 119, 130, Psalms 119, 130, the entrance of your words gives light. It gives understanding to the simple. I don't understand God. Just start eating this and hard revelations become easy. While I've read Proverbs before, start in the New Testament. Read about the works of Jesus. Just start, just every day I'm asking you to prepare a different meal because you cannot outwork a bad diet. You want to eat bad all week and then just praise cardio on Sunday. I'm telling you, you'll sweat a little bit. You'll feel better about yourself, but if you walk out of here and don't eat till next Sunday, just spirit man looks like Ava and you get drug by that flesh on the inside of you. So M, monitor your appetite, E, eat the word daily, A, align your relationships. It's time for numbers to change. This fall is lose my number season. Some of y'all when I said it, there was resistance that came up. That's why you know you need to do it. This is lose my number season. This is I don't even want you to have it, but what if they need to? What have they helped you with in your whole life this fall?

Well, just in case of emergency, your life is an emergency. This is unfollow season. You need to go through your whole Instagram and unfollow every person, watch this, that you don't want to have the opportunity to direct your life because at any moment they can post anything that comes up on my feet that allows them to interject into the way I've been walking, but they funny though, but this brings me joy and the two times they post that girl and they draws, throwing it around in a circle. You've seen it four times and never deleted it. turned 98 keep going by and seeing that handsome you lesson over somebody else's husband it got real good comparison and watch this lack of contentment God's got you in a season because you can see what everybody else is potentially doing now you hate where God has you it's time to unfollow one of the most beautiful things that I got to do at our keep it 100 session with pastors and leaders as I told all of them I said you're here because you follow me and you've seen the crazy faith works that God does here at the church but I want to give you permission today and everybody's like yeah what do you want hey come on Falsam I give us a permission a prophetic promise I said you have permission to unfollow me I said you can be inspired by me but if you're not spiritually mature enough to watch how God is blessing us right now without getting envious or having comparison in your heart it is unhealthy for you to follow me and so because I'm gonna get up and I'm gonna shout his praises and I'm gonna say God we got the keys the keys I'm gonna do all of that cuz I'll and if that wakes something up in you that is unlike God you need to unfollow me I am not offended if I inspire you but I cannot feed you weekly all right Pastor Mike why are you saying that because I got to align my relationships anything I'm in connection with has to be helping me eat the right way there is nothing like trying to eat the right way and the people you love is trying to feed you feel we'll leave it there we got to go we'll pick this up again next week the last thing Al you need to limit the substitutes some of y'all are so full on Christian chips

you're hungry so you eat a family size of puffy Cheetos and though you're chewing and crunching and you've consumed them it's all over your hands what is a Cheeto what is that we don't where does it come what food is that we have no it's not she that is not she's well here here what I'm saying to you you can heat eat a whole family size of those and steal be you need to be eating something that has the ability to actually feel you up in the scripture says to us those who hunger and thirst after here's a meal righteousness next week I'm gonna teach you what righteousness is this will not be a serial for you everybody has to lock into the series it will change and transform your mind and your life because your appetite is either dragging you away from Jesus or it's leading you to him the last thing I want to tell you is the enemy does not have to starve you if he can keep you full on the wrong thing he didn't want to take anything away from you he wants to give you more of what you want standing all over this building thank you Lord blessed are those who are happy and hungry that should be our response how you feeling I'm happy and I'm hungry what's God speaking to you in your life man a lot I'm I'm blessed and I'm hungry for what he has to say to me I am happy and hungry I'm happy and thirsty not for everything that culture is promising me I'm happy and hungry for righteousness because I believe in the promise that I will be fulfilled when you're hungry for the right things you will live a fulfilled life how many people want to live a life that you feel satisfied with the life you have no matter how much money you have in the bank do you know watches you don't need a new job to live a fulfilled life you don't need to move cities you don't need a new wife you don't need more kids you don't you can live a fulfilled life if you just change your appetite after righteousness. Father, I pray for every person under the sound of my voice, I have tried my best today to show them how much you desire to fulfill their life with the right thing. God, I'm asking for every woman, boy, man, child, every person in here. I'm thanking you that they will hunger and thirst after righteousness. That's why you even say in Matthew 633, seek first the kingdom and righteousness. Everything else will be added, Father, God, I thank you that we want what you want, that we want what's right, that we are leaning towards your learning God, that we will walk and desire what you desire. Change our hearts right now, Father God. Come on, that's your prayer right now. Change my heart, Father, God, the things that I've tasted, the things that I've desired, the things, Father, God, that I've fed, that are not like you today, Father, God, I'm asking you to rewire my appetite, God, I want more of you, I want what you have for my family and I want what you have for my business and I want what you've designed for me as your son and your daughter. Today, Father God, let me lose the taste for the things that are not like you. This week, Holy Spirit, we will be led by you. When you lead, we will listen. And I thank you, Father, as families, we will be happy and hungry. Thank you, Father, that we will thirst after righteousness. Thank you, Father, that you have promised us fulfillment and I declare that somebody's weak changes right now because they're going to start eating what you've prepared for us. Make it clear the things we got to cut off. Let us not debate or delay, I thank you that you're speaking right now, God. Speak, Lord, your children are listening. This is a time for us to come to another level of spiritual maturity. This is going to require a watched sacrifice.

The things that you've done for years, God's going to ask for them. Don't fight when he asks for your favorites. It's usually the test before he graduates you to another level. He's saying, "Give me that." He said, "I don't want you to depend on anything but me, give it here." And when he asked for it, "Don't fight him, don't fight 'cause your future is depending on the decision of obedience that you're making right now." And God says, "There's my child, hungering and thirsting after what's right." He said, "That person's gonna be fulfilled." It's a new day for us. I feel the presence of God in here. We have to go, but I just don't want you to leave here and go eat wrong. It's like, I can feel everybody like, about to make the right decision and it's like, you just miss it and we all go eat wrong. It's like, oh, it's my habits. It's like, ah, tonight, my show comes back on the night and it's like, ah, stop recording it. Don't even give yourself the option. Stop pulling in the drive-through. Stop building your life around it. God, I need you. If you're in this place and you've never except Jesus, God, I feel the presence of God in this place right now. Even online, I feel God's changing people's appetites. He's giving you, he's giving you a different desire. Pastor Mike, he can't do that. My favorite scripture in the Bible says this, that it is God working and willing to do inside of you. He says he is literally the one that can give you the power and the desire to do what pleases him. The power and the desire. Right now, some of you, God is giving you right now in this moment where his presence is almost tangible. He's giving you new desires. And you're going to be like, God, how can I do that? He said, I'll give you the power, too. He said, this is why you must be led by the Holy Spirit. You have an addiction to weed or alcohol or TV or whatever. He said, I'll both give you the desire and power to do what pleases me. But you can't do it alone. Wheel power won't do this. White knuckling your way through it, structuring your way through it. All of that has a place to be able to help you in a season, but it's the Holy Spirit, not by might, nor by power, but you're going to need the Spirit. So feel me, oh God, feel me. This is all week, our prayer with your presence, with your love, with your peace, with your wisdom, with your thinking, with your generosity, with purity, come on one more time. I need you, Holy Spirit. Make me aware of you. Come on, let this be your prayer. Lift it up, church. To God. I need you to feel me. Till I'm overflowing.

Till I get to my faith. Till I get to my co-workers. Feel me, feel me, feel me. I want to be the same as I used to be. I don't want to live like I used to be. I love you, feel me, feel me. If you're in here and you've never accepted Jesus, this is the first step to living a healthy life. As you invite the one who shed his blood to take away your sins to help you. And today is the greatest decision I ever made. Whether you're in this room or watching online or watching on a rebri cast or watching on the Pando app, today is the day of salvation. And I need the church to start praying right now because this is why we do everything. We're representing God to the lost and found, but it's for one reason. Transformation in Christ and today is your day of transformation. If you're under the sound of my voice and you have not accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior. Or you walked away from Him or excuse me, you were dragged away from Him. Today the Father has made a way for you to get back and write relationship with Him through His Son Jesus. And the Bible tells us according to Romans 10 and 9 that all we have to do is accept and believe that Jesus Christ was a Lord and invite Him into our hearts. We receive the gift and I know what you're saying to me. You're saying past man, but let me get a few things together. Let me clean some stuff up. The Holy Spirit. You got to let Jesus into your heart and then everything gets clean. You don't go to a hospital already healed. You go to the hospital because you need help today. Jesus wants to help you if you're in this room on the count of three. If you want to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior boldly, I want you to lift your hand as high as you can because today it's going to change your life, one, you're making the greatest decision you've ever made. Two, this is the thing that took me from being a liar, addicted to pornography, somebody who had manipulation all in their heart and it changed my life. Three, if you want to accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior, lift your hands. I see you, my brother.

I see you, my sister. Anybody else? I see you, my sister. Anybody else? I see you. I see you. And more than that, God sees you. Come on, church. Let's celebrate. So proud of you. So proud of you. Listen to me, if it was for one person, this entire service was worth it. All of heaven is rejoicing because of what God is doing in your life, man of God. I'm not a man of God. Yes, you are. We call you a man of God. You're a man of valor. You are a man that has worth. God has value in you. And we see it in you too. At Transformation Church, we're a family. Nobody prays alone.
