Man, it is so good to see each and every one of you this morning at 8 a.m. Guys, you are the real ones. I'm just gonna say that. Thank you so much for responding to the call to being here at 8 a.m. Because at 9.30, it's gonna be like the beaches of Normandy here, guys. I'm just telling you. So, hey, really quickly, and I just want to get off this stage and let God do His thing. Because today is His day. All right, Friday was good because of what today represents. And friends, you and I are dead men and women if it ain't for today. So, can we just give God glory this morning that He is risen? And therefore, we will have that resurrection one day. If you are a first-time guest or a visitor, we are honored that you would be here today. A lot of great churches in the area celebrating the risen King. But for you to come today, it's just an honor to us. And I would love it if at some point there's a Connect card in the seat back in front of you. Okay? Everything that we believe hinges on today. Every single thing. And I was just reminded this morning in Hebrews 12, the joy that was set before Him. Talking about Jesus. He endured the cross. And today, He is looking down on us. Seated at the right hand of the Father in full control and in all authority. And I'm just telling you, there is a Father that wants to have authority over your life. And I know there are people here that do not know Jesus. And we have been praying like crazy that today would be your day. And you just need to know that God has been pursuing you since day one. Moment after moment. Every time you've said no. Every time you've turned your back. God is still pursuing you. And I believe that there is a divine appointment for you today. And so let's just turn our hearts to the Father for a moment. Heavenly Father, we literally are here for you. And we deserve the worst. We deserve death. We deserve to be eternally separated from you. But because of the cross, God, we have freedom. And because of the cross, when we take our final breath on this side of eternity, there will be a hand stretched out, welcoming us into your heavenly courts.

There is no amount of thanks that we could say that could somehow satisfy what you deserve. And so God, as we continue in worship, may we worship you like this is the last day on planet Earth we get to worship you. God, you are worthy of all praise. And God, thank you for saving us. And it's in your name, God, we pray. Amen. Oh, because He lives, all fear is gone, because I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives. God sent His Son, they called Him Jesus. He came to love, heal and forgive. He bled and died to buy my martyr. An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. Because He lives, all fear is gone, because I know He holds the future. And life is worth the living just because He lives. And then one day, I'll cross that river. I'll fight life's final war with pain. And then as death gives way to victory, I'll see the light of glory. And I know He lives. Because He lives, I can face tomorrow. You are worthy to be honored and glorified and rightly remembered, reflected on and celebrated, praised, honored, glorified. And so we enter the song that's gonna happen all over this planet to a risen, ruling, reigning King. And what we ask is that your life, your life Jesus, that resurrection life would be so real to us in this room. You would be inescapable and that you might be rightly glorified. So we love you too, we love you too. Thank you for loving us first. Thank you for pursuing us. Thank you for this chance to worship you in spirit and in truth. We pray it in Jesus' name. Amen. Can we give him glory? Come on now. Come on. Amen.

But listen, get you a seat. I echo what Ben said earlier. Way to go being here at eight o'clock. We said the same thing last night. Man, by God's grace, this room was full last night in our Saturday night service. I have no idea who's coming to the 9.30 and 11, but I'm sure that they're on their way getting ready to come and worship the Lord with us this morning. If you got a Bible, go ahead and turn to 1 Corinthians chapter 15 as you do. Man, what Ben said earlier, if you're a guest today or you're still sort of new to us, you've been coming for a little while, but we haven't got to know you yet, we would love to continue the conversation. I want to say a few things Real quick one man, if you didn't get a chance to see the Good Friday video that our team put together I mean it went out Friday by God's grace tens of thousands of people have watched that and have seen and been rightly Remember what Jesus suffered on our behalf through the scripture through some creative ways of doing that And so I just a shout out to Jonathan Sam so many that put a lot of hard work Can we let them know how grateful we are for what they put together? If you have no idea what I'm talking about, it's on our website You saw a little glimpse of that and when the first sets of worship right there I would encourage you give some time but today we're here to celebrate that he is risen, right?

Okay now I told you I didn't grow up in church around the things of God and after I came into the kingdom I got came to one of my first Sundays and this older gentleman caught me in the hallway and he looked at me goes He is risen and I said, yep He looked at me again a little more dogmatically said he is risen I was like, I know dude I'm all and then the third time he looked at me with passion and some like swords coming at his eyes and he said he Is risen and a dude bailed me out behind me and said he's risen indeed. He's risen indeed And I was like, I've missed something. I didn't know that that was a tradition. That's been passed on to rightly remember. So Let's do it together. I'm gonna say he is risen and I want you from your heart to him say he is risen indeed Okay, he is risen Amen well today we want to look at that in a few verses of Scripture 1st Corinthians chapter 15 we've been in this a journey through 1st Corinthians. I'm sort of skipping ahead to chapter 15 There's a section about the resurrection and only a few verses But we're not gonna have I'm telling you our minds about to be blown away And I have I have personally never had so much clarity Around a message and what I want God what I think God wants to make sure that we understand about what he's accomplished Through his resurrection on our behalf, but here starts verse 20, but in fact Cross has been raised from the dead Paul wanted to make sure everyone that was receiving this letter knew that the resurrection of Jesus Cross is a fact Not merely fiction The Holy Spirit through Paul is making sure everyone that would ever read this letter here It preached would know that the resurrection of Jesus is a truth a timeless truth I actually unpacked this a little bit last year Easter with greater detail But I want to encourage us this morning to knowing that to believe in the resurrection of Jesus Cross Doesn't mean that you have to check your mind at the door Rather God would invite us to engage him even mentally intellectually to know that the resurrection of Jesus Cross is a proven Timeless truth that you can prove the resurrection of Jesus Cross in the same way that you would try a case or Test the theory there is more evidence for the resurrection of Jesus Cross Than what fills history books at higher education systems matter of fact, I'm gonna give you a rapid-fire real quick This is the appetizer not even the sermon

All right Let me give you four rapid-fire reasons that you can believe in the resurrection to bolster Honestly our faith this morning a lot of this I learned from Lee Strobel and some of his apologetic works The first reason that you can believe in the resurrection is the execution That we can't rightly believe that Christ defeated death if he didn't actually die And here's the truth the execution the crucifixion the suffering that Jesus Experienced on our behalf the nails that were driven into his hands into his feet the spirit to his side preceding that the torture and torment medical personnel like medical experts have studied the historical documents not merely the scripture but The accounts of what happened to Jesus of Nazareth all to which came to the same conclusion No man could have endured what he endured and not die So I'm here to tell you and remind us here today that Jesus of Nazareth did indeed die That he was executed on our behalf. That's one reason you can believe the resurrection second reason. There's an empty tomb, baby, right? That in that moment listen to me there was the reality of he's not here and That all those that opposed the work and the teaching and the advancement of the kingdom Went and made sure is the body of Jesus still there matter of fact They made plans and preparations to keep that very thing from happening and I want to tell you over 2,000 years ago this was true and it's true today the body of Jesus cannot be found because it has rose from the grave you can believe in the empty tomb third reason you can believe in the resurrection is eyewitnesses over 515 people testified to the resurrection of Jesus Christ you see this in the scripture across skeptics came to believing faith in the resurrection of the cross groups of people we have not corroborated by nine ancient sources that testify to the reality of the resurrection let the let you on this you could prove the resurrection of Jesus Christ in a court of law people every day are sentenced or freed on way less evidence than we have to the resurrection of Jesus Christ let me give you the fourth man this is just bolstering our faith the fourth reason that you can believe in the resurrection is the early accounts and

the endurance of those accounts so many of those that walked with him watched him die so many that watched him die experienced his resurrection power saw him let me tell you when the greatest evidence is to me of those 515 plus witnesses to the resurrected Jesus Christ you know how many of them came to a place where they recanted their belief in the resurrection you know how many of them came to a point where they said oh by the way before you kill me I don't actually believe that is true there's not one single person that ever testified to the resurrection of Jesus Christ that ever changed their testimony they decided to die rather than recant what they believed about the resurrection so this morning I got news good news for you you don't have to check your mind at the door of faith let your mind be blown by the fact that Jesus really did defeat death over 2,000 years ago anybody want to give him some praise this morning right so I will say with Paul 1st Corinthians 15 verse 20 the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a fact that's the first principle the resurrection of Jesus Christ is a fact now let me tell you something just because we know it's a fact doesn't mean that we've put faith in it information doesn't promise transformation it's a good start it's just a bad place to stop so many of you in this room even right now you believe that it's true but has that truth ever transformed your life let's keep walking because God wants to show us something specific today keep going in verse 20 it says he's the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep meaning that Jesus was the first to come back from the dead in a resurrected state when it references the firstfruits this is good news because he'd had us in mind it means that he was the first of those that had fallen asleep but not the last Jesus was thinking of the harvest of those that would one day also rise he was thinking about those of us that would put faith in his finished work and would also one day rise in the same manner in which he did but Jesus had to do this now he had to pay the pay the price and he had to pave the way through his death and resurrection so that you're ready so that we might one day experience what he is experiencing he had to lead so that one day we could follow what is Jesus experiencing even

right now what is Jesus purchase so that one day we might actually experience personally well he is experiencing living in a resurrected state he is living in a glorified body get this now Jesus wasn't the first person to ever come back from the dead physically y'all remember the moment I love second Kings well there's a moment they got a dead guy that they're carrying along there say hey there's a tomb right there let's throw him in there not knowing that that was Elijah's tomb and that dude body rolls and touches the bones of Elijah and he pops back out you know that was trippy right come on he bounced back out of there fulfilling Elijah's double portion ministry of Elijah and also bringing somebody back to life so others even Jesus y'all remember the moment where Jesus raised the widow's son and Luke 7 how about when Jesus raised Jairus's daughter and Mark 5 how about the moment where Jesus raised Lazarus and in Luke 11 man one or John 11 one of the moments that will ultimately cost him and they knew that they'd have to kill him so Jesus was not the first to physically rise from the dead so what is it referencing in 1st Corinthians 15 verse 20 when it says He's the first fruits. Well, Jesus was the first to come back from the dead physically in a resurrected state. He's the first to come back in a glorified body. I want you to think about when Jesus came back, things had changed. Now, he ate with them, he dined with them, they recognized him, but he also walked through walls. Can I get a witness, right? That's the, I love, we don't laugh enough when we look to scripture. Jesus is like, I'm back, and I don't play by the rules no more. Not only could he walk through walls,

listen to me, he was in a glorified body that could fly, that he ascended to the right hand of the Father, that he had transcendent glory on him. When he came back, they had never seen a body like that, that was no longer limited by tired or sickness or suffering, that would no longer diminish or decay, that he was the perfect embodiment of the power of the resurrection. I want you to think about this, when the Son of God, the perfect God-man, the Son of Man ascended into heaven, and he sat at the right hand of the Father, he was the same as he'd always been in standing, meaning he has always been God, and he will always be God. He'd always been preexistent, listen to me, for all eternity future, but he was different when he returned to the right hand of the Father in his state, meaning he returned in a resurrected state, as the first, not the last. He could do that because he had paid the price and purchased in his body a people for the glory of his Father, bearing scars in his body, declaring his completed work over death. He was no more or no less God than he had ever been before, yet reigning in resurrected state at the right hand of the Father. And I've just thought about this, can you imagine when Jesus ascended to the right hand of the Father?

You gotta know, man, in that moment of completion, that the Father and the Spirit had to look and say, look at you, get back with your resurrected self, you know, like, because they had never seen him in that resurrected state, because he's the first of many to come. Before you think, man, that's great for him, listen to me, it's the best news for us. Because listen to what it says in verse 21, and we gotta see the full story here. And this is why I think God wants to speak to us in a way that I've not thought about fully. And man, I'm so encouraged in my personal faith. Because here's the true story, full story, verse 21. For as by a man came death, by a man has come also the resurrection of the dead. For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive. See, the day that sin entered the story is the day that death became a reality. In Adam's passivity, in Eve's disobedience came the devastating consequence, and this is the consequence. Sin separates us from God, and God is life. Sin separates us from God, and God is life. And because of that separation, hear me, our physical bodies no longer live forever in one sense. Every, hear me now, every body is going to die eventually. There are many ways that people arrive at that day, maybe tragedy, maybe sickness, maybe age, or what have you.

But we have all been, and if Jesus carries another hundred years, we will all be impacted by that reality. You live on a planet long enough, on this planet long enough, you'll travel the hard roads with loved ones, and will one day experience even personally what started in the garden with Adam and Eve. Even in this room right now with people I love, I've watched many times people walk the long, hard road with people they love deeply. And let's be honest, can we talk for a second, not just preach? Watching the life leave a person's body will take the life right out of you, won't it? It's hard. God never intended for us to experience it. You say, Kyle, why are you talking about that on Easter weekend? Well, the reason I'm sharing this today, and Paul wanted to make sure, inspired by the Spirit, that we understand, our hope needs to be clarified around what happens with this physical tent, with our physical body. Because of what Jesus accomplished for us in the resurrection, hear me now, no one. physical story ends at a casket or at a field where ashes may be spread, no story ends there because Jesus's story didn't end there. And if that were true, if that's where the story ends even physically, what Paul will later say, we

should just be merry, eat and drink for tomorrow we die. But today we're reminded of what the second Adam has accomplished, that through the first Adam we all experienced death. Yet through the second Adam, Jesus Christ, by a man we have the promise, hear me, of the resurrection of the dead. Everyone dies because of what happened with Adam, but hear me, but anyone can be made alive because of what happened through Christ. The only way that Jesus could defeat death was by dying and then overpowering death through coming back to life. Not merely to die later, but to never die again. Here's a principle, you ready? Jesus defeated death for everyone so that anyone could be made alive forever. Jesus defeated death for everyone so that anyone could be made alive forever. Jesus literally did everything for everyone. He lived perfectly, the life you couldn't live, died sacrificially, the death that you and I deserve. Then he defeated death physically so that you and I could have the promise of eternity, not merely soul, spirit, but also body. But at some point you and I have to come to receive that truth personally. That's when God's Spirit, listen, comes and makes you alive on the inside. You ever been made alive on the inside? Where the Spirit of God comes and literally makes you alive in your relationship to God, makes you alive to the purpose and significance of your life. You ever had a season or a moment that you were made new? That's where it starts, but here's the good news, listen to me, that's not where it stops. That's where renewal starts, but there's more. I'm gonna say something to you that I don't think we believe fully. One day Jesus is gonna raise the bodies of every believing follower of Christ. You go, what now? Hold on. When someone has put their faith, I want us to see this comprehensively. When someone has put faith in Jesus Christ fully, and that person eventually dies physically, this is what happens immediately. 2nd Corinthians 5 8 says, but we are of good courage and prefer rather to be absent from the body and to be at home with the Lord. Come on, right? Meaning that when my body gives this last breath on planet Earth, I don't go into a holding pattern, the spirit and soul aspect of who I am. You know this. How many times have you been there in a moment where someone's breathing their last breath, or you've

had a loved one, you sat casket side, and you know, listen, they're no longer here, right? Intuitively, we're grateful for the shell, but we know that there was more to them. They were substance. There's more to us than merely this body, right? And what the Bible is saying, man, if you put faith in Christ when you breathe your last breath on planet Earth, listen to me, you awaken in the presence of Jesus, that you're home with him. In a spirit-soul manner, you find yourself in the presence of our King. We understand that almost intuitively, like God hardwired it, but there's more to the story. God wants to remind us, hear me now, this Easter, there are things that are soon to come that we've not experienced yet. Man, it's about to get good, you ready? It says, but each in his own order, verse 23, cross the firstfruits, then at his coming those that belong to cross. Let me tell you what I love about Jesus, he always goes first. That Jesus never, listen to me, calls us to something he didn't complete first. He, listen to me, Jesus pays the way so that we can be a part. Church, there's a day coming. Matter of fact, at his coming, when the Father, hear me now, is gonna look to the Son and he's gonna say, go get my kids. There's a day coming now when the Father looks to the Son and he says, go and get my church, my people. First Thessalonians 4, 13 through 18, gives us a bigger, broader picture. If you got an amen, you better get ready. Here it is. But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, those that have passed away. So that you will not grieve as indeed the rest of mankind do. who have no hope, but we want for you, for if we believe that Jesus died, and what? Rose again, rose from the dead, so also God will bring with him those that have fallen asleep through Jesus. For we say this to you by the word of the Lord, that we who remain, we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will not precede those who have fallen asleep, for the Lord himself,

come on now, will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first, and then we who are alive, who remain, will be caught up together with him in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord, and then I love this, therefore comfort one another with these words. Here's the truth that we need to remember this Easter, the bodies of believers that are so imperishable will one day rise imperishable, that the Lord will not allow our physical bodies to remain under the domain of sickness and decay, the Lord will not allow any of his children's bodies to remain in the ground for the mocking of Satan, that everyone that has put faith in Jesus Christ, at a shout, at the declaration of the coming of Christ, everybody is gonna rise, it's gonna rise, and experience the fullness of redemption, Jesus Christ does not leave one thing unredeemed, not one thing, our bodies are gonna rise, and for those that have went before us, loved ones that you have sat with, cried with, that have put faith in Jesus Christ, have no fear, that body will one day rise. If he comes today, Maranatha by the way, I think Easter would be a great day for him to come, right? If he comes today, listen to me, for those of us that are not,

that have not passed away physically, we'll just poof, glorified state, man that's a good gig right there dude, that all of a sudden man, resurrected state, glorified body. I remember I had a lady recently that told me, I love this, she caught me in the hallway and she said, pastor, when I pass away, I want you to preach my funeral, I said, ma'am, I'd be honored to, she started to walk away and she turned, she said, but just for clarity's sake, I plan on flying, not dying, I said, order me up one too, right? But what does all this have to tell us today? Hear me now, Jesus's resurrection promises our resurrection, Jesus's resurrection promises our resurrection. I wanna give you a thought, not to elicit fear, but the state of fact, and this is where I would say, I didn't have an inaccurate theology around this, I just had a, probably an incomplete, I didn't see this as fully as it was until really sitting with the Lord the last couple weeks. Because here's the truth, every body, physical body, is gonna rise, listen to what it says in Acts 24, verse 15, having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept that there will be a resurrection of both, hear me now, of both the just and the unjust. Let me give you a little bit fuller picture of what Jesus brings clarity to in John 5, verses 25 through 29

truly, truly, I say to you in hours coming, truly, truly, I say to you in hours coming and is now here, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to execute judgment because he is the Son of Man. Then he says, do not marvel at this. For an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out to those who have done good to the resurrection of life. To those that have done evil to the resurrection of judgment This Easter I want us to know based off God's Word Everyone's gonna rise when the King comes The next time you pass by a cemetery I Think often my view has been that one day for the believers that body's gonna rise, but here's the truth There's not a tomb any place or where ashes has been spread that one day Everybody is gonna rise at the coming and the voice of Jesus. That's how much authority he has That with a whisper from the Son of God Everybody will rise To those that have done good meaning that they have received What Jesus has purchased on our behalf they will listen to me receive the resurrection of life But to everybody that didn't receive The finished work of Jesus Christ, they will rise to only experience the second death That which is separation from God forever heaven hell What Jesus purchased

Through his resurrection is the promise of one day the power of everyone's resurrection and then a right judgment And the one question that God seared on my heart this week For every one of us and the reason listen to me you're in the room Is to ask this question Are you ready for your resurrection? Because it's coming And I'm gonna tell you something I can't wait Because one day glorified state One day resurrected power no longer the presence of sin the power of sin no longer decay or Diminishing fully what God intended through the power of Jesus forever So Oh death, where is your sting? Oh Death, where is your victory? So it's swallowed up by the work of Jesus Christ His resurrection has made me ready for mine At 19 I received that as a Pagan far from God making every bad decision you can possibly make brother David at 23 years old Around the things of God his whole life, but finally had to come to real relationship with Christ. I Don't know where your story is today But this is what I would ask you and man we saw so many people step into the kingdom last night Why would you wait to receive what Jesus has purchased on your behalf No Easy believism tonight. I'm not asking you this morning to merely pray a prayer or say a few words Here's the truth about salvation. You can't earn it. Man if you're a follower of Jesus Let your praise start Rising from Your heart for those of us that have even thinking about lost ones love that we love Just remember That bodies one day gonna rise He won't leave one thing unredeemed for those that are here And y'all if you're just honest If that trumpet were to sound if that voice were to speak today That you're not ready to stand before him That's a good thing to come to recognize the question is what will you do with that reality? If you're here this morning And you know you need to receive what Jesus has done on your behalf if you're ready to surrender the Spirit of God is been moving in your life and you know that I want to be ready to meet Jesus face-to-face one day I need his work on my behalf I need him to save me make me a part of his family and make me ready for forever if you mean that as a sign of surrender if you mean that this morning and I would even say to you personally why would you wait if you know that you are ready to put faith in what Jesus has accomplished on your behalf I might actually be bold for a second when nobody else looking around say Kyle I need Jesus to save me this hallelujah dude hallelujah dude anybody else want to raise your hand just look at me for a second hallelujah the others in the room anybody I'm waiting for you listen to me anybody else need to receive what Christ has accomplished on your behalf hallelujah here's the simplicity of the gospel all you got to do is reach out and receive it so if you mean it from your heart to him right now why don't you just say this to him say Lord here I am I am asking you to save me I want to follow you if it's you this morning just right there where you are don't worry about

anybody else how about you Jesus save me I want to follow you you the Lord is here I'm gonna make this real simple if it's you this morning I had put faith in Christ in the midst of this service or even still you got questions just hear me just hear me you got one bold move coming out of this room one bold move and when you leave this room in a moment we got a next step center right outside these doors we got another place underneath the stairway we just need you to be bold enough to come and say hey I need some help taking that next step the Lord's saving people redeeming people if it's you don't wait don't wait Lord I pray for the boldness for every person that needs to put faith in you still and those that already have to take the next right step a church family can we stand together and give God glory for those that just gave their life you now church we got one more chance to praise him like he so rightly deserves I want you to hear this now because that's not the last verse in first Corinthians 15 says then comes the end once you see this passage they pull it up be great then comes the end when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father this day's coming so after he ascends with a trumpet with a shout and Jesus comes to collect all of his sons and daughters that's what it says when he delivers the kingdom to God the Father and after destroying every rule every authority and power for he must reign until he's put all of his enemies under his feet the last enemy to be destroyed is death listen so this was gonna happen come on so listen now this is what's gonna happen one day after all that Jesus is gonna bring every one of his sons and daughters into the presence of the Father and he's gonna say hey dad here's our family here's our forever family I have defeated sin and death so I want us to worship our King right now as he so rightly deserves after the service there'll be pastors and leaders here to pray with you about anything if you need right now everybody vertical, let's hail our King as Lord of Lords, Savior and risen. Give

We had tons of people last night that did it. There's some of you that just responded to the gospel. This is how simple. Just come and say, hey, I need a box. If you say that, we got some things for you, a Bible, some things. We wanna help you continue it. The enemy, even now, is gonna try to rob you of that. He's gonna say, man, just get to your Eastern lunch, get to the other things. I promise you, whoever you're going to meet will wait. They'll wait. Solidify what God is doing in you in that conversation. Take that courageous next step. Hey, church family, can we let those that just put faith in Christ know how proud we are? I love you. And then please be praying for our 9.30 and our 11 o'clock services. Jesus deserves to be worshiped and glorified and people need him. So, Father, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you for a demonstration of the spirit power. Thank you that you are real and that you are ruling and reigning. And I ask in this room for the courage that's needed for some to take the next right step and they know it. If you know that's you, why don't you just go ahead and say to Lord, Lord, I'll take that step. And that you'll go talk to somebody at that next step center. Surrender now. Father, I pray you'd bless every person in this room with the reality of the resurrection today.
