Success starts on Sundays in God's house, lifting up the name of Jesus. Your week is going to be better because you started it off in God's house. Well, today we're beginning a brand new Christmas series called Unexpected Christmas. Little faith meets a big God. How many of you serve a big God? Come on. He's a God of, big God, little faith and a big God. Today I want to talk to you about this.

I want to talk to you about don't forget the little blessings. Don't forget the little blessings. If you know your pastor, know anything about me, you know I love Christmas. I love this season. It's my favorite time of the year, even though my dad and mom are both in heaven, my older brother's dead and in heaven. It's a grieving season, but can I tell you, I love this time of the year. I will start playing Christmas music in October. I'm great to start putting up Christmas decorations in October. Don't hate on me. I absolutely love the Christmas season. I love the Christmas food. I love the Christmas drinks, especially anything eggnog, eggnog lattes, eggnog ice cream, eggnog milk. shakes, eggnog french toast, eggnog casserole, shit I keep going. I love the Christmas season. I have some great memories as a child at the Christmas season. I remember as a child a couple of weeks before Christmas I would go underneath the tree. I would grab the wrapped Christmas presents and I would shake them and try to figure out what's inside of the boxes. Is it a remote control car? Is it a toy? Is it a little video game? I was so full of anticipation. I could hardly wait for Christmas morning to open all my Christmas gifts. I would literally count down the days to Christmas. Then on Christmas morning me, my brother, my sister, we would get up early to open our Christmas gifts and sometimes I would whip open the wrapping paper. I would open up the box and inside the box would be underwear and socks. Did anyone else get underwear or socks as a Christmas present as a kid? Don't no kid want underwear and socks for a Christmas present. There's no kid praying, Lord please this Christmas get me some underwear and socks. That's a little insignificant gift for a kid but here's the reality. Those underwear and socks may be a little insignificant gift to a kid but there it's there they are essential. That little gift is actually

a big blessing even though most kids don't realize it. And now that some of us are teenagers and others are adults it's still easy for us to overlook the little gifts, the little blessings. It's easy to find ourselves only focusing on the big blessings of life. The big blessings like a new relationship or a new car or a new opportunity or the big blessing of a promotion or a miracle or a healing or a big prayer that was answered and we need to be thankful for all of the big blessings. We should say thank you Jesus for every big blessing but we don't want to live life overlooking the small blessings because the same God that gives you the new house also gives you breath in your body. The same God who heals your body also gives you new mercies every morning but if we're not careful we get so focused on the big blessings and we end up overlooking all the little blessings God is providing for our lives and even when we read God's Word we can get so focused on all of the big blessings, all of the big moments in Scripture and we can miss seeing all of the small little blessings. It's easy just to read and to celebrate the parting of the Red Sea or David killing Goliath or the walls of Jericho coming down or even in the Christmas story we can only focus and celebrate on the big blessings like the angels showing up to Mary and Joseph or the virgin birth of Jesus Christ and we should celebrate all of the big moments. We should celebrate all of the big blessings of the Christmas story but tucked inside the Christmas story are so many little moments and little blessings that are so powerful and so purposeful and today here's my goal. I want to help you see the fingerprints of God in the little details of the Christmas story like the little town of Bethlehem, the little town with a big assignment. The prophet Micah said it like this in Micah chapter 5 and verse 2, but you Bethlehem Ephrathah though you are small are among the clans of Judea, Judah. Out of you will come for me. Now what you notice out of you will come for me one who will be ruler of Israel, talking about Jesus. Bethlehem was small. It was not the capital city. It did not have power or prestige. It wasn't like Jerusalem with its palaces and its priest. It was a small, quiet, quaint oftentimes overlooked little town but God said that's where I'm going to show up.

that's where my son's going to be born. God loves to do big things in small places. God loves to bring greatness out of obscurity. He's a God of the little. We look at the manger, a small place for a big savior. Luke chapter 2 verse 7 says, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped in clothes and placed in a manger because there was no guest room available for them. The king of kings, the lord of lords, the savior of the world was not placed in a palace, was not placed in a hospital bed. He was placed in a manger, a feeding trough where animals ate from. He wasn't surrounded by servants, he was surrounded by animals. The manger whispers to us God's glory can rest in humble and small places. The savior of the world did not need comfort to begin his calling. He did not need status to start his story. He just needed a small manger to lay his head. We serve a God of the little. Little is much when God is in it. I want you to understand today he's the God of little blessings. That we can look at the clothes, a little garment for a loving savior. You go right back to Luke chapter number 2 verse 7, and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in clothes or cloths and placed him in a manger because there was no room for him in the end. But baby Jesus, the king of kings, was not wrapped in silk or fur or expensive clothes. Mary wrapped Jesus in ordinary long strips of cloth. This was not an outfit for the king of kings but these little strips of cloths were a blessing to baby Jesus. They kept him warm as he laid in that feeding trough, the manger. I just want you to understand that we serve a God of little blessings. Then we look at the shepherds, ordinary people with an extraordinary message. It says in Luke chapter 2 verse 8, and there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby keeping watch over their flocks at night and an angel of the Lord appeared to them and the glory of the Lord shone around them and they were terrified but the angel said to them, do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Shepherds were not influencers of their day. They were poor, uneducated, oftentimes shepherds were looked down upon. They were considered little in their society but God chose those lowly men to first hear about the good news of Jesus's birth. What you have to understand, God is the God of the little. We look at the little star, the tiny light that led to a tremendous moment. We see this in Matthew chapter 2 and verse 1 after Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea during the time of King Herod. Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him. The magi saw a star that everyone else ignored. They followed this guiding star one step at a time and that little light guided them

right to where baby Jesus was because God is a God of the little blessings and it's easy to overlook the little star, it's easy to overlook the little blessings. Then we look at the magi, a minor part with a major impact. It says in Matthew chapter 2 verse 9 after they had heard the king, they went on their way and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was. When they saw the star, the magi, they were overjoyed. The magi are such a part of the Christmas story. They weren't disciples, they weren't apostles, they weren't prophets, they weren't the main characters of the Christmas story. Mary and of course Jesus. Those are the main characters of the Christmas story. We don't even know the Magi's names But these men faithfully played Their small part in the Christmas story and they follow the star Until they found baby Jesus and now every Christmas season Statues of them are set out in lawns all across the world Because God is a God of little blessings and then we look at the gifts the giving that saved lives in Matthew chapter number 2 in verse 11 It says on coming to the house They saw the child with his mother Mary and they bowed down and worshiped him They opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold Frankincense and myrrh when I read this I think what odd gifts to bring to a baby to a kid gold frankincense and myrrh That's like getting Underwear and socks for Christmas for a kid. I don't know gold frankincense and myrrh. I want some want some toys But What seems like a small and insignificant gift to a little baby or a kid was a huge blessing to Joseph and Mary Some scholars say the gold frankincense and myrrh were valued around four million dollars in today's money It blows me away that the Magi who had just met Joseph Mary and baby

Jesus gave so generously to them God knew exactly What they needed you see shortly after the birth of Jesus Joseph and Mary had to flee to Egypt with Jesus and many scholars believe those seemingly small But yet very valuable gifts financially sustained their family while they were running for their lives I Love that God is not just the God of big moments Not just the God of big blessings, but he's also the God of little moments. He's the God of little Blessings and this is important for us because most of our life is not made up of big moments and big Blessings most of our lives are made up of small Daily moments small little Blessings and I do not want you to overlook and miss saying all of the little moments all of the little blessings God is providing for your life like the little blessing of salvation You may be thinking pastor. Why are you calling salvation a little blessing? It's a huge blessing pastor It's the biggest blessing of all and I agree with you, but the longer people are saved the longer They are born again. The easier it is for people to take their salvation for granted Hebrews says this in Hebrews chapter 2 in verse 1 we must pay the most careful Attention look at your neighbor and just say pay attention. Would you tell them that right now? But would you tell come on pay attention most careful attention? Therefore therefore to what we have heard. Why do we need to pay attention church so that we don't drift away? for since the message spoken Through angels was binding and every violation and disobedience received is just punishment here It goes verse 3. How shall we escape if we ignore? so great a salvation This salvation which was first announced by the Lord was confirmed to us by those who heard Him if we're not careful we can begin to ignore

such a great Salvation Question are you ignoring? your salvation Do you consistently thank God for your salvation? Do you praise God that you are saved from your sin? Do you worship God because all of your sins have been forgiven and you're on your way to heaven People who are thankful for the blessing of salvation, you know what they do They're grateful for the blessing of salvation. They live their life to please Jesus People who are grateful for salvation They don't drift away from God because they're thankful that Jesus rescued them from their sins I've just come to remind somebody today who's been ignoring your Salvation and you're drifting away from God that that little blessing of salvation is actually the biggest blessing you will ever receive. You should celebrate every single day that you're a child of God, that you're on your way to heaven. You should be grateful for your salvation and you should live every single day to please God. Oh don't take salvation for granted. Don't miss the little blessing of salvation. There's the little blessing of life. Psalm chapter 92 and verse 16 says, with long life I satisfy him and show him my salvation. The bible is letting us know that life is a blessing from God and long life is a blessing from God. Don't take the life that God has given you for granted. Psalm chapter 150 verse 6 says, let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Praise the Lord. I need a little audience participation right now. Everybody take a deep breath in and breathe out. If you can breathe in and breathe out today, you are blessed and you should praise the Lord. I know your life isn't perfect. I know you have problems and so do I. Let's just whip out our list and see who has the most problems. I think I can compete with you. But we're still breathing today and we cannot take the blessing of life for granted. It's easy to jump out of bed every day and to complain to the Lord. It's easy to jump out of bed every day and to murmur to the Lord. It's easy to jump out of bed every day and to whine and to cry to the Lord and to take the little blessing of life for granted. I've come to remind somebody today that you're blessed to be alive today. You're blessed to be breathing today and you ought to praise God every day you wake up and there's breath in your body.

Come on somebody praise the Lord today. Let everything that has breath praise the Lord. Don't take for granted. Don't take for granted. Don't overlook the little blessings of life. The little blessings of health. Psalm chapter 103 verse 2 and 3. Praise the Lord my soul. Why? And forget not all his benefits who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases. Why does the psalmist tell us not to forget all of God's benefits? I'll tell you why because it's easy to do so. It's easy to forget all of God's benefits. It's easy to forget all of the little blessings God has given you and I every day. He says don't you forget that your sins have been forgiven and that God has healed your body and I know you may have some aches and pains today. You may have a sickness or an illness that you're facing right now in life but don't ever forget how God has healed your body time and time again. Don't forget how God healed you from the flu. Past day was the flu shot. No that was the hand of the Lord. There have been people that took a flu shot and died. Don't forget how God healed you from COVID and how God healed you from the migraine and how God healed your broken arm or your broken leg. Don't forget how God healed you from so many sicknesses that you faced in life. Oh don't forget the little blessings. Can you walk? Praise the Lord. Can you talk? Praise the Lord. Can you see? Praise the Lord. Can you hear a little bit? Praise the Lord. Can you still chew up your food and swallow it? Somebody ought to praise the Lord. Can you still enjoy the taste of an eggnog milkshake? I'm about to shout up in this church today. I need somebody to praise the Lord for the health that you still have. It's a little blessing. Don't take the little blessings for granted. It's easy. The little blessings of relationships. The apostle Paul understood the little blessings of relationships all throughout his letters. He consistently thanks God for relationships, for people. Ephesians chapter 1 verse 16, I do not cease to give thanks for you. Remembering you in my prayers. First Corinthians chapter 1 verse 4, I give thanks to my God always for you, for you because you have the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus. Philippians chapter 1 verse number 3, I thank God, my God, for all of you in remembrance of you. I'm thanking God for you. You for you for you first Thessalonians chapter 1 verse 2 we give thanks to God always for all of you you Constantly mention you in our prayers. We're thanking God for you. I know you may have Some relational challenges happening in your life right now You had you may have some family members. You hope they don't show up Christmas Day Huh?

But I'm not asking you to focus on the relationships that are a burden in your life I'm asking you not to forget all the relationships that are a blessing in your life You need to be like the Apostle Paul and thank God for the relationships that bless your life Come on, you got to thank God for a loving spouse. Thank God for your children and your grandchildren Thank God for your family that you do like come on. Thank God for your friends Thank God for your church that don't take your church family for granted. Thank God for your small group Thank God for the people you serve alongside on the dream team Thank God for the pastors at your campus that love you and that minister to you Thank God for all the relationships that add value to your life that bless your life that Strengthen your life. I'm simply saying don't overlook the little blessings the little blessing of provision Psalm chapter 34 verse 10 the Lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the Lord Lack no good thing When we seek the Lord when we obey God's Word when we honor the Lord with our life He provides for his people good things one of my favorite scriptures I didn't understand this scripture when I was a kid because I saw the old Saints Shouting holler and scream when they would quote this scripture now that I'm getting a little older I shout and holler and scream because this scripture is true Psalm chapter 37 in verse 25 I was young and now I'm old and yet I've never seen the righteous forsaken Or their children begging for bread all the old Saints. You know what I'm talking about in this house today What a powerful verse of Scripture. What does the word righteous mean? It means we are followers of Jesus We've given our life to Jesus our sins have been forgiven. We are children of God the word righteous It means we are living our lives to please God. You are righteous when you obey God's Word by living holy by loving God by loving people by serving people by being generous with your resources and when you and I are Righteous. Here's what God's Word says

God's Word says I will provide for all of your needs Is there anybody besides me that knows this scripture to be true? I'm here to tell you. I know the scripture to be true I've never seen the righteous forsaken nor their seed their children begging for bread and Because you and I are living righteous. We're blessed by God God God's blessed us with the roof over our head. Come on. God's blessed us with food to eat Come on, he's blessed us with a job to work. He's blessed us with a car to drive He's blessed us with clothes to wear. God's blessed us to take a vacation He's blessed us to enjoy some good food going out to eat. He's blessed us and let's never take the little blessings for granted God's been good to you. I Know you don't have everything you want, but I said God's been good to you. Come on. God's provided for you God's been good to you. He's been good to me And just like I preached at one night in November what a powerful service we had One of the reasons God has blessed us is so that we can be a blessing to others 2nd Corinthians says this in chapter number 9 verse number 10 Now he who supplies seed I want you to notice two words here seed To the sower and bread seed and bread bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and when law enlarge the harvest of your righteousness you will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion and through your generosity will result in Thanksgiving to God The Bible says some of what God has blessed us with is bread for food In other words is for us to enjoy it's for us to spend on ourselves but some of what God has blessed us with is seed to sow back into the kingdom of God and Today what a special day It's our miracle offering Sunday and we get to give our very best offering to advance the kingdom of God To advance the vision of our church. We get to sow seed into God's kingdom for one purpose to reach more people

with the love of God. And today, I'm believing and I'm asking God for the largest one-day offering we've ever received as a church to see more lives changed. It will take every one of us who calls People's Church home doing our part. If People's Church is not your church home, please don't feel any obligation to give. We're just glad that you're here. Thank you for being a guest with us at People's Church. But for all of us that call this place home, let's pray and let's do our part. Not equal giving, but equal sacrifice. All of us praying, all of us hearing the voice of the Lord, and all of us giving our very best offering to the Lord. And as you give, here's what I want to do. I want to just pray and ask God to do a miracle in your life and in our church. We call this a miracle offering because I believe he's the God of miracles. And he does miracles in your life, he does miracles in our church. And as we prepare to give today, I want to remind you that there are tithe envelopes in the back of your seatback pockets. But I want all of us just to pray and allow God to speak to our heart in this miracle offering. And after we pray, you're gonna see a video that I... And the reason I want you to see this video today is because I just want you to be reminded of why we give. See, we give because we love God. And we give for more changed lives, for one more life to be changed. And I wanna pray for you. And if you need a miracle in any of our locations, I encourage you as we pray

and you're giving your offering right now, and you need a miracle in your life, just open your hands up and to receive from our miracle working God. And after I pray, the ushers at all the locations will pass the offering buckets. Father, right now, I pray for my church family. Lord, I pray as many are giving sacrificial and many are hearing your voice, being obedient to you. Some are even still wrestling with, Lord, what do you want me to do? And I pray that you would speak so clearly to their heart. And I pray God, faith will arise in all of us just to be obedient to what you're speaking to our hearts. And Father, I pray right now for your people, I pray miracles. I pray for financial miracles. I pray for relationship miracles. I pray for mental and emotional miracles. I pray for physical miracles, healings in bodies, healings in minds. I pray for the miracle of salvation that loved ones will get saved this Christmas season. God, I pray, release miracles in the lives of your people, breakthrough, I pray. And God, I pray for miracles in our church, miracles to see more changed lives. Lord, I thank you that over the last three years, we've seen over 3,000 people water baptized,

but I know we're just getting started. God, give us the miracle of more souls. Give us the miracle we need to keep building this Edmond building and get this facility built so that we can open it up and see even more lives changed by the power of Jesus Christ. Lord, give our church miracle after miracle after miracle, and we'll give you praise for it. In Jesus' name, we pray, amen. Check out why you give. We'd been married for a little bit and it was not going very good. We just harbored a lot of resentment towards one another, and we really were on a path of getting divorced. I was broken. I was lost, trying to find things that were gonna fulfill that void, and I couldn't find it. I was so far from God, and I just was trying to run away. Every night that I would go to sleep, I would just start crying out of nowhere, and I never knew why I cried. I guess I was just tired of life. I was in a really dark place. I was going through a divorce. And I was experiencing depression. Lots of anxiety.

Lots of drinking, there was just something always missing. And in March of 2025, I sat in this chair. And it's changed my life so significantly, not just for me, but for my family. On July 6th, 2025, four years ago, when I sat in this chair. June 2022. On April 14th of last year. So a year and a half ago, I was invited to People's Church. I had never felt so welcome before, really anywhere. And when I walked in, I felt like I was home. Like this is what I was supposed to be. And we were embraced so beautifully and so full of love that I could not come back. I remember Pastor preaching about shame. And he asked us, you know, if you're ready to accept God into your life and you want a fresh start. He said, it's okay to not be okay. And I was far from okay. And right then and there, I remember putting my head down. And I started crying out of nowhere. I was blowing my eyes out. I just wanted to leave it all out on the altar. I remember God just speaking to me. I'm here with you. I've always been with you. Your earthly father may not have been there for you, but I've always been there for you. I just started crying.

A year and a half ago, we started sitting in the chair. You wouldn't recognize us before to who we are now. If you would have known me two years ago versus now, like you wouldn't have thought that it is the same person. My whole life has changed since I came sit in this chair. Never really experienced the love of God to the fullest extent until walking through these doors and sitting in the seat. God said, you have a purpose in life. I have never left you or forsake you. Even when you were going through all that pain and all that struggle, I was right there next to you. I'm so grateful that he didn't give up on me. That he loved me anyway. I am truly believing that one day my children will sit next to me in these chairs. My prayer is that my sisters can sit in this chair one day and that their lives will be changed exactly like mine was. Praying for my sister. My nieces and nephews to come sit in this chair. I'm praying that one day my dad will sit in one of these chairs. Someone's mom, someone's husband, someone's child. Coworker, niece, nephew. Someone's dad is going to sit in this chair one day and their life is forever going to be changed. Amen. Every head bowed, every eye closed here today. Maybe you're here today and as you watch that video, you realize that you're that one. You're far away from God today. You're stuck in your sin. God wants you to know today he loves you so much.

He sent his son to die on the cross, to take all of your sin away, to wash you white as snow. But it starts with you making a decision. Will you accept this free gift of forgiveness for your sins? And today, in just a moment, if you're here today and you know you want your sins forgiven, you want to have a relationship with God, I'm going to ask you to slip up your hand in just a moment. And I want to lead you in a prayer to make Jesus the Lord of your life. He's going to come into your life. He's going to wash your sins away. He's going to start you on a beautiful journey of understanding what it means to walk with God. If you're here today, you're far from God, but you want your sins forgiven. When I count to three, would you lift your hand? I want to pray with you. One, two, three. Would you lift your hand right now all over this room? Thank you so much. Anyone else? Thank you. Thank you. Anyone else? You say, that's me. Thank you so much. I need Jesus in my life. Thank you. Thank you.

I see those hands. If you had lifted your hand here today, I want you to pray this prayer with me. The Bible says, confess it with your mouth, believe it in your heart and you will be saved. Let's pray together. Dear heavenly father, I come before you today. And I realize that I'm a sinner and that I've missed it. And I thank you that you sent your son, Jesus, to die on the cross, to pay for my sin. And today I receive the free gift of salvation. Be my Lord, be my savior in Jesus name. Amen and amen. Come on church. Can we celebrate with all of those who said yes to Christ today? It's a big moment for you and church family. Here's what I know. I know that God desires to do miracles in our lives. And I know many of us here today in this season, you may need a miracle in your body. You may need a miracle in your marriage. You may need a miracle in your job, in your finances. I don't know what the area is that you need a miracle. But I've known that we serve an amazing miracle working God and before we leave Can we just take a moment to say God I trust in you. I trust in you for my miracle Would you stand up all over this room? Come on, if you're comfortable, come on, would you cry out to the Lord right now? Come on, lift your hands all over this room Come on, if you need a miracle today Come on, he's trustworthy We trust you Lord

Come on put your trust in him Church I Just think My Go on church trust them today. He wants to work in your life.
