Quiero darles una reflexión en esta tarde. Cuando dice, cuánto más su padre que está en los cielos dará cosas buenas a los que le piden. Este versículo nos recuerda el amor y la bondad de Dios como padre. Jesús utiliza una comparación sencilla con nosotros los seres humanos. Con nuestras limitaciones y errores procuramos dar lo mejor a nuestros hijos. Si eso es cierto de nosotros, cuánto más nuestro Padre Celestial que es perfecto en amor y desea bendecir a sus hijos. Otra cosa que Jesús dice, no simplemente es padre, sino dice su padre. Y eso dice mucho, porque Él es nuestro padre. Esta palabra cambia por completo nuestra manera de acercarnos a Él. Cuando venga el dolor real, ella no va a poder hacer eso. Pues lo primero que yo pensé es, usted no me conoce y no sabe que tan chistoso soy. Pero al otro día, cuando empezaron las verdaderas contracciones, entendí, sí, aquí no hay chiste ni conversación que tener durante estos dolores. Y aunque había tanto dolor en ella, había gozo porque venía nuestra hija. Así serán los tiempos finales para nosotros. Puede que haya mucho dolor en el mundo, puede que haya mucha aflicción. Y la Biblia habla de los tiempos que van a ser como los del lot. Habla de gente que va a decir que hay seguridad y paz, pero nosotros no vamos a ver el mundo de la misma manera. Vamos a ver el dolor y el sufrimiento, pero es algo para que nosotros nos dé gozo. Porque lo que viene, así como cuando venía mi nena, lo que viene es Cristo.

Que debería de ser lo que nosotros más anhelamos en todo el mundo. Si continuamos leyendo, habla de la preparación. Y si leemos la Palabra de Dios, entendemos que nadie sabe ni el tiempo ni la hora en que Cristo va a venir. Pero estos versos aclaran en verso 4 empezamos, pero vosotros, hermanas, no estáis en tinieblas para que aquel día os sorprenda como un ladrón. Todos vosotros sois hijos de luz y hijos del día. No somos hijos de la noche ni de las tinieblas. Por tanto, no durmamos como los demás, sino vigilemos y seamos sobrios. Porque los que duermen de noche duermen, y los que se emborrachan de noche se emborrachan. Pero nosotros que somos del día, seamos sobrios, vestidos de la curaza de la fe y el amor, y con el casco de la esperanza de nuestra salvación. Y nosotros como somos hijos de luz, tenemos que entender que hay una gran diferencia y que hay cosas en este mundo que nos roban la atención, para que en vez de que esté con Cristo, esté con cosas del mundo. Y cuáles son las cosas que nos hacen dormir espiritualmente, que nos hacen no enfocarnos en el Señor, que nos emborrachan espiritualmente o físicamente. Una de las cosas puede ser la pornografía, el adulterio o hasta las cosas que miramos. Esas cosas nos roban nuestra atención, adormecen nuestro corazón. Hacen que se nos olvide nuestro amor más grande y nuestra afección va a otro lugar, el enfoque va a otro lugar. La Biblia usa el alcohol como ejemplo y aunque la Biblia está hablando no solo de cosas físicas pero también espirituales, el alcohol es importante en esto porque lo que tomamos, cuánto tomamos y cómo lo tomamos, importa. Estamos honrando a Dios con lo que consumimos o corremos a la botella cuando hay un día difícil, cuando estamos cansados, buscamos nuestro reposo en algo que no es Cristo. También están las mentiras que hemos creído que nos hacen cuestionar o dudar de las cosas de Dios. Mentiras que la cultura nos dice como que todos somos buenas personas. Si todos fuéramos buenas personas no habría

What we look at in our homes matters, what we hear in our homes matters, the places where we go to eat or where we go out often matters. All these things have spiritual weight, and if we forget that there is an enemy looking exclusively to destroy us, day by day, in all the actions we take, everything we do. Seeing an ad next to the highway when you are driving is not a coincidence, someone put it there to get your attention. Someone put it there to catch you, so that you fall again. But if we only look at these things as physical coincidences, we are falling into a very dangerous area because God calls us to watch. To have a clear and focused mind, and to constantly be looking, not to be spiritually asleep, but awake. So what are the things that keep us awake? What are the things that open our hearts and minds to focus exclusively on God? So that life flows from us, because the word not only tells us not to be drunk, but to watch. Just not being drunk is not enough. To watch is an action. We have to constantly be looking, to be watching. It's like putting on the Lord's armor. One does not dress just because he woke up in the morning and now he is dressed. It is an action. We have to constantly learn in our lives to dress ourselves in the things of the Lord, to look for the things of the Lord. The word of God is beautiful. I am fascinated by how it speaks of the armor of faith and love. Our faith is not an intellectual exercise. It cannot be a lot of information, and that is why we come to faith. At some point, it is faith that leads us. It is to believe in your heart that Christ died on that cross for your sins, and that on the third day the Father resurrected him. Simply reading information, you will not reach that conclusion. At some point, it is a leap of faith. That is what faith is. The certainty of the things that are not seen. So it is important to understand that every day we have to put on our faith. We have to put on love. And as a helmet, it says, the hope of salvation in Christ.

If we continue reading, in verse 9, this is what our faith is about. Because God did not put us to go, but to reach salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. Who died for us, so that whether we fly or sleep, we live together with him. The coming of Christ is important, but today there is still an opportunity if you do not know it. I do not know how you came to this place. I do not know why you came to this place. I do not know what you are struggling with, what has dragged you. I do not know what you did that night, or today in the morning. I do not know the weight of the things you carry today. But the Lord does know. And with all the certainty and faith that you have. Y padres, en un día como hoy, les digo que son importantes. Por diseño de Dios los ha puesto como profetas sobre sus hogares. Lo que enseñan, lo que instruyen, lo que corrigen, lo que reprenden, todo eso importa. Y es de gran bendición para nosotros como hijos. Yo tuve el privilegio este año de ir a Guatemala, que es de donde es mi papi. Yo diría que también soy de ahí, pero me trajeron de tan chiquito que no recuerdo nada. Y en Guatemala la pude patear con un niño. Y con este niño que empecé a patear la pelota lo tenían becado una familia de americanos para que él pudiera ir a la escuela en Guatemala. Pateando la pelota con este niño entendí que mi papi hace 50 años estaba en esa exacta situación. Una familia de americanos le pagaba a él su escuela y él jugaba con pelotas como estas. El sacrificio de un padre, aunque tal vez hasta el padre no entienda la magnitud de lo que está haciendo, importa. Porque a mí me enseñaron a patear una pelota, ahora hay un ministerio aquí de fútbol todos los domingos. No por mi bien, ni por el de mi papá, pero porque así lo diseñó Dios. Y esos eran los planes que tenía Dios. Esta también es la Biblia de mi papi. Él cargó esta Biblia creo que por 20 años o más. Y hoy estoy predicando un mensaje con ella. Y aún así esto no es lo más importante que me ha dado mi padre. Lo más importante que me ha dado mi padre es instruirme y enseñarme quién es Jesucristo. Guiarme a los pies de esa cruz. Como padres lo más importante y valioso que podemos hacer por nuestros hijos es instruirlos en las cosas del Señor. Para que cuando aquel día venga y nuestro Señor esté aquí, no los sorprenda. Sino con nosotros se llenen sus corazones de gozo. Porque nuestro Rey viene por nosotros. Voy a terminar aquí en Salmo 127. Y me gustaría que entendamos el peso de las cosas que hacemos como padres. Porque sin Jehová todo lo que hacemos es vacío. Si Dios no está en el centro de lo que hacemos, todo es vacío. Salmo 127 dice, Si Jehová no edifica la casa, en vano trabajan los que la edifican. Si Jehová no guarda la ciudad, en vano vigila el guardia. En vano levantamos de madrugada y os vais tarde a reposar, comiendo el pan con dolor. Porque a su amado dará Dios el sueño. He aquí, heredad de Jehová, son los hijos. Recompensa es el fruto del vientre. Como flechas en la mano del valiente, así son los hijos que se tienen en la juventud. Bienaventurado el hombre que llena de ellos su alijaba. No se avergonzará aunque hablen con los enemigos en la tribunal.

Todo lo que nosotros hacemos como padres y como creyentes es vanidad si Dios no está en el centro de eso. Absolutamente todo. Dejarle a un hijo carros y casas o motivarlo para una educación, esas pueden ser cosas buenas. Pero todo depende de que Cristo esté en el centro de nuestros hogares y de nuestras familias. Celebramos a los padres como tíos, abuelos, que imparten paternidad, y también celebramos a las mujeres que en algún momento dado nos ha tocado hacer de padre y madre. Gracias, Señor, por cada hombre que has llamado a ser padre, guía, protector y ejemplo para su familia. Te damos gracias, Señor, por el esfuerzo que ellos hacen, su trabajo, padre, sus sacrificios, silencios y por el amor con el que cuidan a sus hijos y en sus hogares, padre. Señor, yo te pido en esta hora que tú los fortalezcas cada día con tu poder. Dale sabiduría para dirigir a su familia, Señor, conforme a tu voluntad. Señor, que sea tu amor quien lo guíe para corregir. Dale fe para permanecer firmes en medio de cualquier desafío, Señor. Bendigo la vida de cada uno de ellos.
