Day 53: Who you were made to be — gifts, wiring, calling. | The Walk Out

You weren’t an accident. You weren’t off the assembly line. You were custom-built for something.

TODAY’S TRUTH You were made on purpose, with a purpose. Both matter.

THE READ “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. … All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.” — Psalm 139:13, 16

You were knit. Not assembled. Not stamped. Knit — slow, careful, hand-made.

THE REAL You have wiring that’s specifically yours. The way your brain works. The things that come naturally. The patterns of what you’re drawn to. The kinds of people who light you up. The kinds of problems you can’t help solving. The way you process pain. The way you process joy. None of that is random.

You also have gifts. Things you can do that other people can’t. They might be obvious — you can sing, you can paint, you can fix engines, you can teach kids — or they might be subtle — you make people feel safe, you can read a room, you can smell a lie, you can carry hard conversations.

And you have a calling. There’s something you’re for. Something God built you to do that the world needs and you’re uniquely positioned to do. You might not know what it is yet. You might be in the wrong job for it. You might be in a cell while it waits for you on the outside. None of that disqualifies you from having one.

Some of you have spent so long being told you’re a problem that you can’t imagine being made on purpose. You can’t picture having gifts. You can’t picture having a calling. The voice in your head is too loud.

We’re going to try to picture it anyway.

You were made by a God who doesn’t make accidents. You have wiring He gave you, gifts He gave you, and a calling He has for you. Even now. Even where you are. Even after everything.
