John chapter four has a very impressive story and it begins with Jesus traveling from Judea to Galilee. And the text says that Jesus mentions to his disciples, I have to go through Samaria. And that for a Jew in those days was not normal. The Jews did not speak to the Samaritans, they despised each other, they avoided each other, they took the longest way. They turned the city around instead of going through it. But Jesus said, I have to go through there. Like he had an appointment, as if someone was waiting for him and he knew it. So listen to the story as it is told in the book of John. In order not to read the whole chapter, I'm going to read some verses. In John four it says, Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat down by the well near noon. Then a Samaritan woman came to get water and Jesus said, please give me a little water to drink.

And the world falls to her. A Jew, a man talking to me, that does not happen. What is happening, it is not allowed. And the woman said to him, you are a Jew and I am a Samaritan woman, why do you ask me for water to drink? And Jesus starts talking to her about another water, one that she had never tried. Jesus answers and says to her, if you only knew the gift that God has for you and who you are talking to, you would ask me and I would give you living water. And all those who drink the water that I give will never be thirsty. That water will become a spring that will sprout with freshness within them and give them eternal life. And she gets something inside her, she wants that water to enter her. So she says, please Lord, give me that water, so I will never be thirsty again and I will not have to live here, come here to get water. And then Jesus, with all the tenderness, changes the atmosphere and touches the exact wound of that woman. And Jesus says to her, go and bring me your husband. And she says, I don't have a husband, the woman replies. It's true, Jesus says, you don't have a husband

because you've had five and you're not even married to the man you're living with now. And that conversation, next to a well, changes the life of this woman completely. And the woman who came in hiding, is transformed. Look how it ends. The woman left her pitcher next to the well and ran back to the village while telling everyone, come and see a man who told me everything I've done in my life. Isn't this the Messiah? Now, that's the story, but I want us to go back to the woman's character because I think there are things that I don't want to happen to us. Let's see. Let's start with the first thing. Did you notice that now she came to the well? She says she came at noon, under the strongest sun of the day. And that, in that culture, indicated something super important. That's the thing. She went to the well at noon because women usually go to the well in the morning when the day was cooler, when there wasn't a lot of heat.

But it wasn't just a place to collect water, but it was also a place of community. It was a place where people would come to talk, to get to know each other. It was a social moment. Some would have said that at that moment they would put everyone up to date with what was happening in the village. Others would say they were gossiping. I don't know which one, but it was one of those two. And all the women would get together to talk, let's put it that way. But that woman didn't come in the morning with the rest of the women. She goes alone at the worst time of the day when she knows that no one else is going to find her. Why do you think? It's because she was ashamed. The kind of life she was living was organizing her agenda. She goes when she goes because she doesn't want anyone to see her. She doesn't want to see anyone's eyes. She chooses that the midday sun is more important than meeting other people's eyes of judgment. I don't know if you know anyone like that. Someone who organizes their entire life so that they don't have to be seen. Someone who changes seats,

leaves early, avoids questions, arrives late, but leaves early so that no one gets too close to her. And maybe that person is you. Maybe you also go to the well at midday because you're trying to avoid having contact with someone. And I want you to notice that this woman knows about religion. When Jesus, we don't read it, but when Jesus starts talking to her, she starts talking to him about everything important. She doesn't stay quiet. She knows exactly what she needs to know. She talks about the well, about Father Jacob. She argues about the mountain where we're going to worship. If it's this mountain or it's going to be worshipped in the mountain of Jerusalem. She tells him that she knows that the Messiah is coming. She knows everything. She knows how to sustain a complete religious conversation. She has arguments, but she's still completely dry inside. In other words, she knew how to argue about water, but once again, she hadn't drunk from the water. And this is where Jesus does something that bothers me. It bothers me personally because he touches the true need.

Y quiero dejar esto muy claro, porque creo que queda claro en esto. No puedes sanar lo que sigues fingiendo que no existe. Y Jesús no hace nada más que con mucho amor deja de fingir con ella para que ella pueda dejar de fingir con él. Y eso es extremadamente importante. A veces la gente dice, Jesús es malo porque le dijo eso. No, no, Jesús es bueno porque cuando él no finge, ella puede dejar de fingir. Pero ahora quiero que veas algo que a mí por años se me había pasado. No había entendido eso y lo mejor que tú también ya lo leímos y ya lo dijimos y me imagino que ni cuenta te diste. Pero quiero que regreses conmigo al principio de la conversación. Antes del agua viva, antes de la teología, antes de los cinco esposos. Quiero preguntarte, ¿Quién habló primero en la historia? ¿Quién comenzó la conversación? Y si ves bien, no fue ella la que comenzó la conversación, fue Jesús. Y Jesús le dijo, por favor, dame un poco de agua para beber. ¿Te diste cuenta que el primero que tuvo sed en esta historia es Jesús?

No fue la mujer quebrantada, fue Jesús. Le dijo, dame un poco de agua para beber. El Dios que sostiene el universo con su palabra. El Dios que diseñó cada gota de agua que existe. El que hizo los océanos y las nubes. El que hace llover. El que está sentado junto al pozo. Sabiendo con ese poder lo que puede hacer. Pidiéndole agua a una mujer que no tenía nada que ofrecer. Y quiero que eso te caiga profundamente. Quiero que lo escuches. Dios se puso en un cuerpo, un cuerpo de verdad. Un cuerpo que se cansa, que le duelen los pies. Que suda bajo el sol. Que después de una larga caminata tiene que sentarse. Porque está cansado y tiene sed. El creador del agua tiene sed. Y eso es el escándalo del Evangelio. Que Dios no se quedó lejos de nosotros. Cómodo, perfecto allá en el cielo. Sino que bajó y bajando se hizo capaz de tener sed. De tener necesidad para ser como nosotros. Y mira cómo se acerca a ella. No aborda la conversación desde una altivez divina. Sino que en vez de llegar elevado. Con el dedo levantado. Con una lista de todo lo que había hecho. La lista de su mal. No empezó por ahí por el pecado. Empezó por la necesidad de Él.

Yo tengo sed. ¿Me puedes ayudar? Le dio a ella un lugar del que puede dar. La puso por un momento en la posición en la que ayuda. Una mujer que la comunidad había desechado. La había echado a un lado. Y la había pensado de que ella era menos. La trata como alguien de que si tiene valor. Y ella si tiene algo que dar. ¿Me puedes dar de beber agua? Su sed fue la puerta. La vulnerabilidad de Jesús fue la que abrió el espacio. Para que ella por fin. Después de tantos años escondiéndose. Pudiera admitir su necesidad, su sed. Porque es más fácil abrirte con alguien. Que también se abrió contigo. Es más fácil confesar tu sed. Frente a alguien de que no fingió la suya. Y así es que Jesús hace. Siempre. Y así lo vemos desde el principio. Mira toda su vida. Nace en un pesebre. Y no nace en un palacio. Entra en Jerusalén en un burro. Y no busca un caballo de guerra. Se agacha y le lava los pies a sus seguidores. Jesús siempre entra por abajo. No porque sea débil.

Sino porque en el reino de Dios. El reino al revés. El que sirve es el mayor. Y el último es el primero. Y por eso hoy no tienes que tener todo resuelto. Para acercarte a Jesús. Puedes acercarte a Jesús por donde estás roto. Por donde te duele. Por tu quebrantamiento. Y aquí está la pregunta. Que sostiene todo este mensaje. ¿Por qué Jesús escogió entrar con su necesidad? ¿Por qué Jesús decide atender la sed de ella. A través de su propia sed? Por haber empezado de mil y una maneras. Pero empieza con su sed. Y es porque la sed de Jesús. No era solamente física. La sed de Jesús eres tú. Su anhelo eres tú. Su deseo es verte a ti sano. Completo. Restaurado. Y verte de vuelta en casa. Cuando Jesús dijo. Tengo sed. Junto a ese pozo. No solamente está diciendo. Tengo seca la boca. O necesito ser refrescado.

Él está diciendo. Te estaba esperando. Por eso te estoy esperando. I had to go through Samaria, because you are the reason I took this path. My thirst is not only for that water, but your well-being is my thirst. Your restoration is what I came to seek, it is not an extra, it is not a consolation prize. Oh, what a coincidence that I went through Samaria and now I can help you. No, no, no, I went to help you, that's why I went here. The reason for the trip is you. And this turns everything we think around. If you don't hear anything I've said so far, and you don't take anything else, take what I'm about to tell you. We believe that the whole relationship with God is about how thirsty I am of Him. We spend it measuring ourselves, blaming ourselves. Do I have enough hunger for God? Do I have enough gold? Do I seek Him as I should? This story changes everything, it puts everything upside down. It tells us that we have the equation upside down, because the conversation didn't start with my thirst for Him, it started with His thirst for me. I wasn't the first to seek God, He was already waiting for me in the well. That woman who had never really drunk, who had been drinking seawater all her life, Jesus offers her something that no well in the world can satiate. No man, no religion, no relationship could ever give her. Look how Jesus says to her, all those who drink the water that I give, will never be thirsty. It's water that turns into a spring that sprouts

with freshness inside them and gives them eternal life. Did you hear the difference? It's no longer a boat that you have to pick up in the morning, walk to the fountain where you are going to look for it with your own effort. You fill the boat and then you take it back home and by the end of the day it's over for you again. The water runs out and the thirst returns. No, no, no, Jesus says it's a spring, it's inside you. It sprouts on its own, you don't have to make it sprout. It doesn't depend on what you do to maintain it. That's what Jesus offers, a spring that is water that satisfies your thirst for all your life. And do you know what happened to her? She was so transformed that she left the boat. The same boat that she had walked to there, she left it there and started running around the town telling them, look how Jesus changed my life. And I want you to see that abandoned boat as something very important because she came looking for a well and found something bigger than another well of living water and left the boat because she didn't need it anymore. And the woman who went to the well at noon to not see anyone, now she's running around telling everyone, look, come, I want to talk now but it's not gossip this time. There is a man who changed my life, transformed my thirst, come and meet him. And look at the detail, the same thing that she was hiding, what was sending her to the well at noon is now a testimony. And she is no longer ashamed because she was seen as she is and she is still loved.

A single conversation in a well that was sated forever. And she became a spring of life, not only for her, but it starts to affect her people. But the story doesn't end there. I asked you to remember two words, I'm thirsty, because now we go to John 19 and we find the scene of Jesus hanging on the cross. In verse 28 of chapter 19 it says, Jesus knew that his mission was over and to fulfill the scriptures he said, I'm thirsty. The first time Jesus said I'm thirsty, he was sitting next to a well, helping a woman who was sated for all her life. The second time Jesus says I'm thirsty, he's hanging on the cross, bearing the sin of the whole world, but opening the fountain that was going to give eternal life to all humanity. And it wasn't by chance. Look, the text says that to fulfill the scriptures, hundreds of years before David had written Psalm 22. In Psalm 22 and Psalm 69, he speaks of a righteous man who was going to suffer with his tongue close to his palate, to whom they would give vinegar for his thirst. And Jesus hanging on the cross, bearing the weight of everything we did, is fulfilling the old promise before others. His thirst was not an accident at the time.

It was written, it was planned, it was programmed. And you know what they gave him when he was thirsty? They gave him a wet sponge in sour wine, in vinegar. Think about it, the one who offers living water asks to drink from the world and the only thing the world has, the best thing the world has to give him to drink is vinegar. And that's exactly what happens, the kind of water that the world offers us in our life. Vinegar. They are things that promise, they say so. But instead of satisfying our life, it bitters our life. And Jesus on the cross drinks our vinegar to give us his spring. It's how he does it on the cross. The one who offers the living water is left without a single drop. The spring itself is thirsty. The one who told the woman, you will never be thirsty again, dies with a dry throat so that you and I will never have to die thirsty again. He drank our thirst to give us his living water. And that, family, that is to be replaced by us. It's not just a theological concept for you to pass the exam that no one is giving you. It's this. He dried himself so that we would be full. He emptied himself so that we would be complete. In other words, he carried our thirst to the deepest, to death, so that the living water would spring from the side of Christ forever, which makes you live. This has to change completely, as you think of your own health. Because many of us, if we are honest, we grew up in an environment where deep down we believe that if God heals us,

he does it as a favor. And he does it even if he doesn't want to. As if God restored you upset. As if God told you again, oh my God, you with this again, you with that, when are you going to stop? And that image of God has you hidden, and that image of God is the one that makes you go to the well at noon. But it's not like that. Listen to me carefully, because I want you to take this with you, especially to the things. Your health is the joy of God. Your restoration is what brings joy to the Father's heart. He doesn't heal you like someone who completes a process. He heals you. And he wants to say, finally, my son, finally, let's do this. Get what you've been looking for so long. You have to remember that before you were thirsty, he was already thirsty for you. When you heal, he drinks. That's why at the end of the whole Bible, the invitation that continues to say, God the Father is this, in Isaiah 51. Does anyone have thirst? Come and drink. Even if you don't have money. Come, drink wine or milk. And look, it's all free. It doesn't say, come if you deserve it.

It doesn't say, come when you've already fixed everything, when you've already done everything right. Come when you've already corrected everything. It says, if you're thirsty, come. Do you have something in your hands? No. Come. Even if you've been drinking seawater and vinegar all your life. Come. It's free. Someone already paid for you with their own thirst. With their own thirst on the cross, they paid so that you can have your thirst satisfied. I want to bring this biblical concept down to real life. You know that I direct regeneration. Regeneration. It's a ministry of discipleship that we have here in North Place, of recovery, of health. I came to regeneration because they told me I had to. They told me, Oscar, we're going to implement this program in North Place and the pastors have to take it. I said, okay. And when I came to regeneration, I realized that I had been going to the well at noon. And some have used different things to destroy their lives, and I was using food to destroy my life. I was eating too much. My emotions were upset. There was forgiveness that I had to give. There was forgiveness that I had to seek. There were amendments that I had to make.

Through regeneration, God transformed my heart. And He has made incredible changes in my life. Not only in my physical body, but in my heart, in my ability to speak about the things that are important. And I drank from the spring of living water. But not only mine, but every Monday, here at 6.30, we meet with people who come to regeneration. And every Monday, those who come will not let me lie, every Monday is the image of Jesus sitting in the well, talking to someone who comes in hiding, comes in with fear, people who have their marriages destroyed, people who are addicted to different things, people who don't think they have value, people who have problems with their sexual identity, people who have been in prison, people who have struggled so much in life, and they come in hiding, thinking they are arriving at noon to the well. There is an incredible team of leaders in regeneration who give their time every Monday to be here, helping people who need it. And people do book work and come every week. Look, it's 10 months of regeneration. 10 months, look, I was in Garland and I said 10 weeks and all the people from Regeneration told me, no, it's not 10 weeks, it's 10 months. Because believe me, it's 10 months. It's 10 months. But it's 10 months of every week sitting next to Jesus and talking to Him

and for Him to tell you, I understand and I want to heal you. It's incredible, it's incredible. On August 10th, we're going to graduate 30 people who are finishing their 10 months. 30 people who 10 months ago said, I'm going to get on the boat and they haven't gotten off. And 10 months later, they're finishing a process of discipleship where God has transformed their lives. It's a long, difficult, honest path. It's looking at yourself in the mirror. You can't pretend. 30 people who at some point were like that woman who went to the well at noon, who organized their lives so no one would see them, so no one would touch their wounds, who had taken water from the sea and vinegar for years. And every time I see those graduations, I think the same thing. I don't see a diploma, I see the same scene of the well repeating itself in front of me time and time again. I see God being thirsty for those people. I see a person who arrived dry, hidden, silent. No one could see his eyes. You don't know how many people, when they start regeneration, they say, Pastor, I can't say those things. What you bring to light and take it out of darkness loses its power. And today they are standing, satiated, with tears of joy. Now they tell everyone, hey, let me tell you, you have to come to regeneration.

Dealing with sexual abuse of the past, personal abuse. People who couldn't eat before, now they eat healthy. It's incredible. 30 living testimonies that God still today in Wiley, Texas in the year 2026 continues the business of restoring lives. Amen. So this is what I want to give you so you can take it. But I want to give you this for tomorrow, or for Tuesday, or for when you feel thirsty again. Because today you are hearing that word, what God has taught me through these sermons is that preaching the gospel, the heart of the gospel, the heart of God, that's only preached. There's nothing I'm doing that's affecting you. It's the love of God shared with you. But tomorrow, Tuesday, Wednesday, when you're thirsty again, first I want to tell you, stop hiding. God knows everything. The woman in the well, it was Jesus who mentioned everything. Everything she was hiding, everything she thought no one knew, He told her first. He was the one who was thirsty for her first. She didn't know, but He had seen everything. He already knows your complete wound, every chapter, the things that embarrass you, He already knows them and He still sits by your side

and tells you, let's talk. He tells you, can you give me something to drink? So I'm telling you this, you don't have to get clean, you don't have to get fixed, you just have to stop pretending that you're not thirsty. And number two, your restoration is not a burden for God. You're not bothering your brokenness with God. Your restoration is sublime. What embarrasses you so much that you hide it, that's exactly what He came to look for to the cross. Everything is in Him and He can heal it. This conversation started with the thirst of Jesus, not with mine. It started with the thirst of Jesus for you, not with yours. It's still starting today. He's not waiting for you to have enough thirst for Him. He already had so much thirst for you that He went to the cross. And if today you're tired of drinking seawater, you're tired of someone still serving you vinegar. You're tired of going back to the same well that never gets tired of you. There's a spring, a spring of life called Jesus. And it's open and it's free. You don't have to pay anything. It's free. So, a few moments ago, the pastor and I asked for an opportunity. If you haven't received Jesus in your heart,

do it. There, where you're sitting, you don't have to wait for it to end. Tell Jesus, make the thirst that I have in my heart. I don't want to keep running. I don't want to keep looking. I don't want to keep drinking and not being thirsty. And if you're one of those who pretend your thirst after religion, I want to invite you to stop pretending. Jesus stopped pretending in front of you. He knows what it's like to feel thirsty. And on that cross it says, I am thirsty, because my thirst is that you may be satiated by your thirst. So you don't have to do anything but say to Jesus, come, for the first time or for the hundredth time, it's okay, Jesus, come, satiate the thirst that I'm still trying to satiate in other places. In a few moments we're going to pray, but before we pray I want to ask you, I sent you a text message when I knew I was going to have to preach and I have the leaders of Regeneration ready. They're going to come up to us and talk to us. They're going to be by our side. And I want to invite you. If something of what I said is born in your heart, looking for someone, having a conversation, you don't have to sign up for Regeneration, not yet, that's later. But if Ana Tejada talks to you, I'm almost sure you'll get there, I promise you that.

But listen to me carefully. Regeneration is not magical words. It's a process. It's a journey with Jesus. And we're going to talk about that in a few moments. But if something of what I said today moved something in your heart and you need someone to pray with you, to agree with you, if you want to confess something, if you want to talk to someone about accepting Jesus, they're going to come up to you, come up to them and talk to them. They're ready. Many of them put on their Regeneration shirts because in Regeneration we have a new life in Christ. So they're going to come up to you. Once they come up to you, they're going to come up to you. And if you need prayer for anything, please come up to them, talk to them, talk to them. There are men, there are women, people full of God, people with an incredible heart. But you already knew what you were going to do. It doesn't have to be Regeneration. God doesn't need Regeneration to transform your life. God wants you to be free. God wants to heal your heart. And that's the most important thing. Please stand up. I want to say a prayer to end today. And at the end, I'm going to leave the space open for you to come in and talk to these people. Look for someone else. If you're new, you're going to talk to them. Go through a guest connection. If this is your first time, our team is ready to serve you, to respond. If you said yes to Jesus today, talk to someone. If you go to the bathroom, the person in the bathroom, talk to them. Tell someone.

Tell someone that Jesus is in your heart. Look for me, look for Pastor John up front. We want to talk to you. We want to enter the community. God wants to heal your heart and wants to satisfy your thirst. And that's the most important thing. Lord, thank you. Thank you for your great love. I don't know where I would be if I didn't have your love. I don't know where my life would be if it weren't for your grace. If you hadn't satisfied my thirst. So thank you for that, Lord. Thank you for every person here. Thank you because you had thirst first. You sought us first. You opened the way so that we could have our thirst satisfied. The one who is looking for you, Lord, satisfy their thirst. The one who is pretending, Lord. With love, look them in the eyes and say, I know, I understand. Let's do something. Let's correct it. Let's fix it. The one who just let you enter his heart so that he forgives his sins. Lord, embrace him

and let him know that he is loved and seen. Thank you for all your love. Thank you for your blessings and thank you because you are good. Father, I ask you to bless them all and keep them. Let your face shine over them. Be merciful to them. Turn your gaze to them. Show them favor and give them peace in every area of their life. In the name of Jesus. Amen and amen.
