Christmas is a season defined by giving, yet the pressure to give “the perfect gift” often steals the joy of the moment. Parents, friends, and family can feel weighed down by expectations, believing they are not doing or giving enough. But what if the greatest gift your loved ones want is simply you—your presence, your attention, your heart?

We live in a culture that constantly elevates self: self-esteem, self-awareness, self-confidence, self-image, self-sufficiency, self-improvement, and even selfies. But what would happen if, this Christmas, we chose humility instead? What if we set ourselves aside and focused on the needs and interests of others? How might that reshape our marriages, our relationships with our children, or even the way we approach our work?

The truth is simple: the greatest gift you can give Jesus on His birthday is yourself. And that same gift—your whole heart, your whole attention, your whole presence—is what your spouse, your children, and your family long for most. But to give your whole self to those you love, you must first give your whole self to Him.
