Welcome to House of Rest Church, my name is David Rocha, I pastor the church here, along with some really great leaders and staff, and we're just excited that you are all here. So, as they're grabbing those flyers guys, instead of having questions, if you are thinking of going, can you raise your hand real quick? I didn't think I could get a sunburn, and a couple years ago I learned I can. And so that was rough. But all the information that you need is on there, guys. I over 9,000 salvations that's just through one of the platforms you guys you know a lot of times you come here on Sunday because you want to get fed and even though we have Grace International and those pastors are there for me but who feeds me because how can I feed the congregation if I'm empty and and I just want to tell you that all the letters we get we read every single one of them I don't know if it reaches a point where I can't but for now we're reading every single one and I'm grateful because I'll be honest with you seeing and reading the praise report the testimonies feeds me because there's times where I can get discouraged there's times where it can get hard in ministry and I started reading those letters and see somebody say man I used to be a Muslim but because of you I gave my life to Jesus I used to be a drug addict but now I gave my life to Jesus I just left the gang because I gave my life to Jesus I mean over and over and over and I'm just like that's amazing and they'll say if it wasn't and they'll like of course of course God but if it wasn't for God using you I would have still been in my stuff in there you know and and boom guess what that does it fills my soul man it fills my soul you know and so something that's been brewing for the last couple years is saying what happens when they get out and they want to show up here at house of rest yes we have the Bible studies yes we have the Sunday sermons but if anybody here's ever been incarcerated it can get very when you come out your equilibrium's off you feel like you don't belong you don't know where you belong you feel kind of lost you have these expectations and a lot of times they're not realistic so then you can't meet those expectations so then you get discouraged and it starts that whole recidivism you go right back and I don't want anyone going back and we've been trying to rack our brains on how can we do something here in a house of rest and we've been just thinking about this for a couple years now and finally the last few months really kind of zeroing in on it and so with that I want to let you know that we are kicking off what we call bridges if you could put the logo up and bridges is a recidivism prevention that we're gonna have people that come out of prison or jail and we want to have a place for them to meet

every single week to talk about things not give them Bible study that's what Bible studies for that's what Sunday's for but just life and and just things that that we're going to go along with you and walk with you and help you and in case you want to know what bridges means can you put the next flyer this is what it means bridges a re-entry and life skills focus B for breaking old patterns R for restore responsibility I to integrate into society D to develop life life skills G to gain accountability E to establish stability and S to sustain the change this is not just a house of resting if you know somebody that goes to another church we're not trying to take them away from that church but maybe they don't have something like this so they can continue to go to their church their Bible study their service but they have a place where they can come and gather because we are going to stop the recidivism rate we want to empty the jails and the prisons across this country we want people to meet Jesus Christ and this so this is something that's our heart this is something that's important and to find out more go to the website if you go to the website hit hit prison ministry on there there's a form on there we will get that form we will get a hold of you if you guys know somebody anybody that just got out within a year right Marcella within a year within one year and this is gonna be something that we want to give you a foundation because I'm sick and tired of people coming out and not having a foundation and we're gonna do our best you know we're gonna do our best that we can to help you or help your loved one in that so I'm really excited about that guys amen amen so I'm gonna do this after so just to let you guys know that we have missions All Your mercy never fails me And all my days I've been held in Your hands From the moment that I wake up Until I lay my head Oh, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God It's all my life You have been faithful It's all my life You have been so, so good

Babies are a blessing. Every baby is a gift from God. No matter the situation, regardless, it is a blessing from God. And so I always get a gift from God. Excited to be able to dedicate babies and I Love it and not only that but I just love this family so much So if the Ruiz's can come up real quick, we have a baby to dedicate We can have any pastoral leaders come up also Daniel Naomi, I don't know if you have anyone else coming up, but they're welcome to come if they want It's up to you guys We have baby Samuel It's a good name one of my favorite prophets Hello family, thank you You Samuel Caleb Ruiz. Oh, I was looking at her wait Hey, baby Amen mom and dad back there. Where's dad? Oh, they're dead Amen Wow, you know this family here means so much to us I consider you guys spiritual children The one when you came, you know, there was a lot of brokenness You know Daniels a lot of brokenness and just to see what God has done in your life You know where God can take so much

Confusion and all this stuff and God can make something beautiful happen You know, and it's it's it's an honor to be here, you know with you guys In Matthew 19 13 15. It says children were brought to Jesus they were brought to him that he might lay his hands on them and pray and the disciples rebuked the people but Jesus says let the little children come to me and do not hinder them for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven and He laid his hands on them and went away so we know according to Scripture that Jesus loved the babies He loved them Family is a divine institution ordained by God from the beginning of time The state of California did not say what a family is the United States government does not say what a family is the Word of God states what a family is and A child is a blessing from God for the parents to care to provide to protect and train in the way of the Lord It's beneficial though when parents recognize their obligations and responsibilities and make an effort to fulfill them It is their responsibility It is it is their their calling to Teach them about Jesus Yes, you want to teach them life skills you want to push them in their education all of those things but without Jesus it means nothing but with Christ it means all things and This is why we're all standing here before you all as witnesses to the promise that they are making for a baby Samuel At house of rest we dedicate children rather than baptize them Because in the same way Hannah dedicated Samuel in the book in the Bible Who became one of Israel's greatest prophets, so he's already starting off with an amazing name Joseph and Mary dedicated baby Jesus to the Lord according to Jewish custom so baby Dedication closely follows the biblical pattern for children She already praying for him already leaving So in summary this public acknowledgment is to recognize that Samuel is a gift from God and Daniel and Naomi You have spiritual responsibility to nurture not only him, but all your children in Christ So Daniel and Naomi you have brought Samuel before us today to publicly dedicate him to the Lord

So I have some questions to ask you and please affirm your desires by answering each of them by saying we will number one Will you accept both of you your God-given responsibility to raise Samuel in a Christian home? To will you teach and disciple Samuel rather than relying on the church or the school system for you to impart biblical knowledge and spiritual values in him and Three will you both this is important one because you can say what you want, but if you don't live it it means nothing So will you be a living example for him as he grows up on how to live as a Christian believer? Amen to the congregation Will you as a community of faith because if we're a family will we support Daniel? Naomi as they raised Samuel by showing them the love of Christ. Amen. So let's all stand and we're gonna pray. Let's all stand. Let's come. Can you bring him over here closer? Just extend your hand. Lord God I thank you. Parents can come over here too if they want. Two grandmas. Grandpa over there. Lord God I thank you for baby Samuel. I thank you for his life Lord God. I thank you Lord God because he's a gift. I pray for his heart, his mind, his soul Lord God. I pray Lord God that he grow up loving after you and seeking after you in the same way that Samuel the prophet heard your voice. I pray that he grows up and hears your voice Lord God. That he has visions and dreams even from the moment right now as a child Lord God that when he closes his eyes that he sees you and dwells in your presence Lord God. I pray for a long life. I pray for many years. I pray for his health. I pray for every single organ Lord God. I pray Lord God for you to surround him with angels all the moments of his life Lord God. That you Lord God make him a pillar of his family Lord God. That he proclaim you from the rooftops Lord. That you bless everything that he touches inside and outside in the country and in the city Lord God. That everywhere his feet walk upon that devils run from him Lord God. Not because of who he is but because of who dwells in him Lord God. I pray Lord God for the fear of you. For a healthy fear to be instilled in his heart Lord God. And for him to be an example for the future generations Lord God. We give you all honor and all glory as we dedicate Samuel unto you Lord God. You gave us

But we're gonna kind of tag team a little bit here and there. So I'm just gonna be hanging out over there. And I'm gonna be jumping in like that. Just jumping in. So but I do want to start off with prayer. Let's bow our heads. Lord God I thank you for this moment. I thank you for what you're about to share through Sharon. I thank you for this series Lord God as we share what God what you have done in our lives Lord God to give people hope. Because that's what it is is hope Lord God. And I just pray that the right people are here that you brought them strategically Lord. Open up our hearts and our minds to receive what it is that you have. In Jesus name. Amen. I want to start off the same way I started out the last two in Revelation chapter 12 verses 10 and 11. This is where we've been starting out. And I'm just gonna go ahead and read it and and allow Sharon to begin. For those of you that don't know this is my wife. Forgot to mention that in case it's your first time here. You were gonna say it? Okay. Revelation chapter 12 10 and 11 says and I heard a loud voice in heaven saying now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have come. For the accuser of our brothers has been thrown down. Who's the accuser? Satan. He's been thrown down who accuses them day and night before our God. In verse 11. And they have conquered him, Satan, by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.

For they love not their lives, even unto death. You might not have a degree in biblical studies, but you have your story. And through your story, chains can be broken and people set free because of your story. And that's why this is so important. So I'm gonna go ahead and hang out back there and let Sharon do what it is that God has called her to do. I don't want you to hang out back there. I want you to get it and hang out right there. That way we can feel like we're in the podcast or something. Feels better. How's everybody doing today? Amen, I'm blessed too. Well, y'all know that I'm not the pulpit type of person, okay? Guys, I am very honored and privileged to just be able to share this morning with everybody. So you guys know, for those of you guys that don't know me, I'm Sharon, he already introduced me. I told him, you took my introduction away. Gosh, you know, that's like a whole few seconds, you know,

for less time for me to be up here. But I'm Sharon, guys. I am an ordained pastor here, which means nothing because at the end of the day, we're all humble servants. Amen, that's what we are. And I'm just really, really thankful to be his humble servant. At the end of the day, that's what I am. I love to serve my father. He is my father. And I'm a mom, you know, I'm a mom, I'm a grandmother. I'm a sister, I'm an aunt. And I have been here for quite some time now. And I'm just really, really thankful that the Lord brought me here. Out of everywhere that he could have planted me, he planted me here in Modesto. And I'm just really thankful for that. I was born in the San Fernando Valley in 1974 to immigrant parents. They migrated from Honduras. My mom was born in Tegucigalpa. And they came over 50 years ago. So it was definitely before I was born. So I'm gonna be 52. And my dad was born in a little island in Amapala. You would have to take a boat just to get to that island. I learned that because I was able to go to Honduras when I was maybe about, if I can remember really good, maybe I was about four or five years old.

I remember that because I remember my older sister took my brother's sock away from him and was literally torturing him and filling up his sock with water in the boat. And it's crazy because I vaguely, I could vaguely remember that memory. It was the only memory I remember having of that little boat and we were taking it to that island. But that's all I remember. I can only remember a few things from Honduras. I remember the mangled trees. And maybe a ditch in a orange peeler from Honduras. So very little bit of things that I can remember. So I have an older sister who is 55, how old are you babe? Okay, 54. So 55 going on 56. My brother is the same age as David. You guys have heard me talk about Luis a lot. And then I have a baby sister who I'm pretty much like a mom to her. I'm like a second mom to her. I've become a second mom to her. I love that girl so much. I'm very, very close to her. I have four biological children. I have Christopher, Ashley, Matthew, and Abraham. And then I have five bonus blessings, you know, which is, I'm gonna get it right,

Leanna, Angeline, Gabriel, and we call David Jr. Bobo in Aaliyah. And I have four amazing, amazing grandchildren. And then I want more on the way, so they better hurry up. They better give me more grandbabies. So we have nine. We have nine kids all together, you guys. It's awesome because I tell people all the time, if you have a big family, we'll play against you. You know, that's enough to have a baseball team. So if you guys wanna play, then we'll play you. It has really been, you know, really awesome having a big family. But it didn't start out that way, guys. It really didn't start out that way. When I was really, really little, I was a really goofy, happy, happy child. I think I was really, really silly and very outgoing from what I can remember being a small child. But things really, really changed for me and they got very, very hard. About the age of eight to nine, my life took a drastic change, huge drastic change. My dad would work as a trucker. My mom was a very hardworking woman. That woman worked a lot. Tremendous hard worker. I can't say that my mom never was a hardworking woman. But my dad became an alcoholic as well.

You know, as a trucker, the moment that he'd get back, constantly drinking, constantly, just hardcore alcoholic. And I can't remember how it happened or when it happened, really, and how things began to transition and when the transition happened. But somewhere along the line, molestation began at that age, between the ages of eight to nine. And it just transitioned and I became a target. And things just changed for me. And I had to hold on to some really big secrets. And holding on to those secrets were really hard for an eight, nine-year-old little girl. And they just progressed and they got, it became more and more. And it wasn't just at that age and it just didn't happen one time. It just became, it progressed and it transitioned to more things. In order for me to stay quiet, you know, I had dollar bills put in my underwear in the mornings for me to stay quiet. A lot of the, if you love me, you'll do this. If you love me, you'll do that. And it was something that was put into my head constantly so that I can stay quiet. You know, the buddies would come over. You know, a lot of the men that would come over and drink with him and everything,

for some reason, one of those buddies thought that it was okay for him to want to do the same thing to me as well. And, you know, I found out later on in the years later that he was doing the same thing to his daughter. And, you know, it was like that for years. It went on to pretty much almost the age of 12, but I think when it transitioned and it got really, really bad, was one day when I realized that things were just getting really bad, was one day when my older sister and my brother were gonna go out to play. We had some neighbors that were down the street and they were gonna go out to play and I really wanted to go. We had to finish our chores. And I was like done with my chores and we were running, we were running to go out to go play and he says, no, no, no, you're not done with your chores. And I remember just looking at my brother and I said, I want to go. You know, I was crying because I said, I want to go, I'm done. I'm done cleaning, I'm done with my, I'm done doing what I'm doing, I wanna go. And he says, my nickname's Chetto, by the way. So he says, Chetto, you gotta keep cleaning, you gotta finish doing what dad said you gotta do. And I said, no, I'm finished, I'm finished,

take me with you. Because in my heart and in my mind, I knew what he wanted me to stay for. And because I knew things were getting worse and worse, this was three and a half years already that I had been dealing with so much already. And I knew that they were gonna be further away, and I knew that nobody was gonna hear me. I knew that he wanted me to stay for something more. And he literally told me, he took off the belt, and he says, you have to stay. And my brothers and sisters were like, you gotta stay, you gotta clean. And that was the day. That the attempted rape actually happened. And I never really wanted to realize that that actually happened, because I kicked and I screamed, and it hurt, and I did not understand what was happening. And it was the hardest thing ever. And I remember that I looked into his eyes. And when I screamed so hard, and I looked into his eyes, he stopped. He stopped. And it's taken me a long, long time to actually admit that that was a rape. A rape. You know, sometimes we become, we get into denial of things. You know, and it takes a long time

to realize the truth about things. It was within maybe a month or two after that, my mom worked. She used to work really late. And he cornered me while my brothers and sisters were playing, my brother and sister were playing in the back with their friends. And he cornered me in the kitchen. And he wouldn't let me through. And my mom got home early without me. Without him knowing, and caught him in action. And she ran in there like a lion. She ran in there like a lion and grabbed me. And I felt saved. And she wanted to hurt him and kill him, and she wanted, and she just grabbed me and held me so tight, and I knew that day. I knew that day that that was gonna be it. I knew that he wasn't gonna do that to me anymore. You know, there was so much manipulation. There was so much, so many lies. He was drunk. He lied to her and told her that he was drunk and that it had never happened. I had no voice at 12 years old. He manipulated her and told her that it had never happened. He stayed in the home for about another year. I lived in fear, shame, guilt, feeling that I had messed up my mother's marriage. I was 12 years old the first time

that I tried to commit suicide with my mom having to pump my stomach at 12 years old. That was my first suicide attempt. There was so much rebellion. There was so much, my mind had matured so quickly. It had matured, I was doing, thinking, doing things, doing things that I shouldn't have been doing at that age. I became pregnant at the age of 14 years old. I became pregnant at the age of 14 years old. by somebody older, that wanted nothing to do with me. Which didn't even matter to me because it was my ticket out of my home. It was a way for me to get out of there. I found my way out of there. At a little apartment, I started working in a paralegal office. And then I found another customer service job. I was paying $384 for my first apartment. I put myself into the hands of a man who trafficked me, who was grooming me. The paralegal himself began to groom me. And a lot of the times we think that human trafficking is just now in these times right now. No, it's not. It was happening way, way back then in a whole different way. In a whole different way. I was being groomed back then. They do it in a very, very different way. I was being trafficked back then. I was being groomed for other people. I was being introduced to different people. I know this is probably too much for some people, but I believe that people need to hear this, because people need to hear the goodness of God, of how good he is.

The people that I feel that I should have trusted, the men that had been placed, I was I got introduced to a D.A.R.E. officer. The people that we think that we can trust, sexually abused by a D.A.R.E. officer. Every man that I thought that I could have trust, I couldn't trust. I began to shut down as the young woman that I was. I began to make bad choices in the people in my life. I began to choose the wrong men. I began to become abused, because I felt that that's what I deserved. Every person that I was with abused me. I wouldn't say anything, because that's what my worth was. That's what I felt that I deserved. I didn't feel worthy enough to have anything good in my life. I stayed quiet when something would happen to me. I did not know what confidence was. I didn't know what worthiness was. I didn't know what value was. I didn't know any of that. When I did tell my mom, finally, the whole truth, there came a time when I finally told her the details, the full truth of it all. It was just really, really, really difficult and hard. It had to take for me to move out of the house and to step out of there and to finally tell her the truth and everything. I think one of the hardest things, and I love my mom, guys, I love her, I adore her, but one of the things that stuck with me. I think that it was hard for her to hear everything because when he used to put those dollars and me to stay quiet. And I don't think that she meant to say this, but she said it and it stuck with me. And she says, it was like you were his little prostitute.

And that tore me to the core. She ended up leaving him, by the way. He ended up actually leaving a year later after everything. I ended up having my daughter after, at the age of 17, but before I had her at the age of 17, I had already had an abortion at the age of 16. I had another son by the age of 21. And then I had Abraham. After that, I had a son. After that, I was introduced to Victory Outreach at the age of 17. There was a woman who had found me at the age of 17 who brought me to Victory Outreach. I found refuge there. I didn't know whether I was coming or going, but I just know that when I found myself going, I didn't know anything about Jesus. There was a woman who had found me at the age of 17 and there was a lady by the name of Marsha at the apartment. And I was so, so sick. And I was trying to crawl to feed one of my kids, I remember, because I was just really, really sick. I didn't know what was going on at that time. And I had been burning up with fevers for days. And she seen me from my window and she knocked on the door and she asked, can I go inside? And I nodded to her, yes, to come inside. And I remember she walked inside and she came in and she asked, are you okay? And I said, I don't know, something's wrong.

And she took care of me. I ended up going to the hospital and seeing doctors and specialists and throughout the whole process, I was diagnosed with lupus at that time, systemic lupus erythematosus. She had then told me that there was a church by the name of Victory Outreach that she really wanted to take me to and she's the one that actually brought me to Victory Outreach. I wasn't really consistent, but she introduced me to Victory Outreach. And once I went there, babe, it was hard for me to leave. I'm just real thankful for that woman. Sometimes the Lord will bring people into your life to plant that seed, amen? And I think if she wouldn't have planted that seed, I don't think I'd be standing here right now. I wanted to say something here before she continues. It's not easy as a homemaker to kill somebody because they don't have the experience and knowledge of how to approach people and to be charismatic and trustworthy and to be fascinating. Easy as a husband, because I'm a protector to hear these things, be honest with you. Keeping my cool, but I start getting angry. But I can't help but to think of a couple of things

that I wanna just show you in the Bible. One of them is in the book of Ruth and when we hear the story of Ruth we focus in on Ruth clearly because she's the main person in the story but there's a woman named Naomi. Naomi is Ruth's mother-in-law and she basically had everything. She had her husband, she had her sons, she was in Israel, then a famine hit. They up and moved out of Israel to Moab which was a neighboring nation, a neighboring country that did not worship the God of Israel and during that time while Naomi was there she lost her husband and her two sons died. And it makes me realize as I'm hearing this story because it's Naomi's the mother-in-law and Ruth is a younger one and both of them lost their husbands and Ruth was a Moabitess and Naomi was from Israel but she's in a lost place now, lost everything, lost everything. And it makes me think of this for the sake of this story as I'm hearing Sharon's story I want you to morph both into one. You have Naomi who has lost everything and you have Ruth who's a daughter-in-law but for the sake of this message because many times women you are who you are and then there's the younger you inside of you. And I want you to think of Naomi as being the one that lost her husband. She's in a lost place but there's a little Ruth inside of her. And Naomi is feeling lost and she started life with everything. Like I said she was in a promised land, had her whole life ahead of her but now she found her place completely lost. This is the place where you're lost, where dreams are shattered, where you had dreams, where you had vision of yourself of how your life was gonna be but all of a sudden it blows away like dust. You had goals of promises and now you just have goals of survival. In the book of Ruth chapter 1 verse 19 and 21 I wanted to read this portion really quick. In Ruth chapter 119 it says so the two of them went on until they came to Bethlehem. And when they came to Bethlehem the whole town was stirred because of them and the woman said is this Naomi. So after many many years of being away from Israel Naomi goes back to Israel and Ruth says I'll go with you and she's like no you're young go find a husband and Ruth was like no I'm gonna be with you. And your God will be my God and

and I will die where you die. So they both go back to Bethlehem and remember when she left she had everything going for her. She had her house, she had her husband, she had her children, she had everything and now she comes back broken and shattered with no hope anymore. And it reminds me of that because how you say when you were seven and eight you were just a silly girl and all of a sudden you're completely different. Something happened, dreams were shattered, vision was broken. And they saw them coming they're like is this Naomi? Verse 20 and she said to them don't call me Naomi call me Mara. See Naomi means pleasant. Mara means bitter. She says I'm not pleasant anymore. I'm broken for the Almighty has dealt very bitterly with me. This is what she said that God has dealt bitterly with me. She says I went away full but the Lord brought me back empty. So don't call me Naomi anymore. This is not what life was supposed to be. You know you you you you hear the story and I'm sure your story echoes the story of many women. Goals and visions and dreams are blown away like dust. And it reminds me of another person in the Bible his name is Joseph. Joseph same thing. Way different story. Same thing. Joseph was a young man who had visions and dreams. God revealed himself in his stories and and matter of fact in Genesis 37 verses 5 and 7 it says Joseph had a dream and when he told his brothers they hated him all the more. And he says listen to this dream that I had. There was binding sheaves of grain out in the field when suddenly my sheaf rose up and stood upright while your sheaves gathered around and bowed down to it. See, sometimes you need to be careful in who you share your dreams to. And because of that, he found himself hated by his own brothers. For whatever reason, they treated him differently. For whatever reason, you were treated differently. You were isolated. You were set apart. Joseph's own parents were sometimes even annoyed at him. And if you know the story, and most of you do, he found himself thrown into a pit.

He found himself as a slave. He'd taken to a land he didn't know, accused of things he didn't do, thrown into prison which he didn't deserve. Just like Naomi. Just like Ruth. Lost. Confused. Dreams shattered. Vision too hard to see. And the goals of promise were turned to goals of survival. And that's what I hear when I hear your story. Of a young Joseph, full of hope, and now hope lost. And a Naomi and a Ruth, full of life, but now she finds herself empty. I think they called her Mara, right? Bitter Mara. I love the story of Joseph. You know, for me, I've always taken the four Ps. The Lord gave me those four Ps because he was persecuted, he persevered, and he was being positioned for God's purpose. And I'm constantly reminded of that. You know, the other day, I think it was the day before yesterday, I was going through some pictures, and I was looking at my pictures before eight, and I seen the happiness in my face of me being goofy and smiling. And I wanted to share just a few of the ones when I was smiling and happy. And I saw, I saw life in me. And I was just like, that's, I don't know if I can ever remember that. But then after, I began to see all the other pictures. And I began to see the shattered Sharon. And that was me constantly. After that, I was shattered.

After a certain time, I was constantly shattered. But when the Lord began to heal me, people say, well, you take a lot of pictures. I used to, when I met David, I carried my camera all the time. I think his kids got sick and tired of me taking so many pictures. Because I wanted to capture memories. Because I began to love myself again. It was so important for me to show how much it is important to just love yourself. You know, after that seed was planted, it was a tug of war when I came to know Jesus. The enemy wanted me dead, dead. He wanted me dead. I wanted to die so badly. I remember writing a letter. Like I wrote a letter and put it in my son's pocket. He was little. I remember putting it in his little pocket and dropping him off somewhere. I knew I had never tried drugs in my life. And I remember I knew somebody that had drugs. I knew that drugs killed. And I said, you know what? I know where this person hides their drugs. And I drove to their house, third story. If I jump off of that third story balcony and I jump into that pool, after I swallow all these drugs, I will not be able to get out of that pool. Put the letter in his pocket, drove him over there, came back, swallowed huge balls of cocaine. I started to make my way to the balcony. I couldn't even feel my throat anymore. I couldn't feel nothing. By the time I tried to get onto that balcony and everything, I collapsed.

My lungs collapsed. All I can see was light and darkness. Light and darkness. And I remember just seeing an image of my son hovered over me. That's what I seen, an image. And days later, I woke up in a hospital with my mom there. I was placed in a mental ward on a suicide watch. There was a young girl in there. They had her in a straitjacket. She was pregnant. And they had her there because she had been trying to kill her baby by hitting herself. That's why she was in there. And there was a little old lady that caught my attention. She would run around. They had her in a straitjacket too. When she would run around, she had a wig. It was really weird because she had a wig on. But she seemed like a sweet little old lady, but she would be running around everywhere. And one day, I was just laying in the bed that they had me in, and she came and she did these weird things to my face and it scared me. And I was like, Lord, what am I doing here? And I remember seeing the exit sign and I just wanted to get out of there so badly. And I'm like, what did I do? And there was a song.

And I didn't know very much about worship music. I didn't know anything, but I knew that I loved to sing. And there was one song that I knew. Somebody had given me one CD. And I used to play that CD over and over and over. I used to sick and tire people from singing this song all the time. It was called Arms of Love by Amy Grant. Can I sing it for you guys? I sang that song and I sat at the exit door. When I began to sing that song, the young girl that was hitting her stomach came and sat down and started rubbing her tummy. Just rubbing it. And the old lady, her wig got crooked. And just sat there. She sat there and she just put her head on the girl that was pregnant and kept asking me if I can sing it again. Sing it again. Sing it again. And asked if I can keep singing it. And I kept singing that song over and over. Now, I felt like I was crazy because I kept singing it over and over and over and over. So I felt like I belonged there with them. But I sang it. And I think that that was the day that I realized that the Lord was using me. He used me in my most hardest moment as a worshiper.

And I was so thankful that he can use me in that moment. Oh, thank you, Lord. I'm gonna sing it, Abraham. Amen. ♪ Lord, I'm really glad you're here ♪ ♪ I hope you feel the same when you see all my fear ♪ ♪ And how I fear ♪ ♪ I fall to my knees before you, Lord ♪ ♪ I hope you feel the same when you see all my fear ♪ ♪ And how I fear ♪ ♪ I fall sometimes ♪ ♪ It's hard to walk in shifting sand ♪ ♪ I miss the rock and find I've nowhere left to stand ♪ Lord, please help me. Raise my hands so you can pick me up. Hold me close. Hold me tighter. Cause I have found a place where I can hide. It's safe inside your arms of love. Like a child who's held throughout a storm, you keep me calm in your arms of love. Thank you, Lord. Storms will come and storms will go. Wonder just how many storms it takes until I finally know. You're here for me even when my skies are far from gray. I can stay. Teach me to stay there. Cause I have found a place where I can hide. It's safe inside your arms of love. Like a child who's held throughout a storm, you keep me warm in your arms of love. So, can you imagine me having to sing that over and over and over? I sang that over. Guys, I had my children after and I sing it again. Did somebody say sing it again? No. I had my kids. I stayed connected. I went through a lot of abuse with, you know, my kids' dads.

A lot of abuse. The only one that did not put his hands on me was Abraham's dad. Unfortunately, he was a drug addict. I tried really hard to help him. And he ended up homeless. And we did our best, but he just disappeared and became an absent father. And we didn't know whether he was alive or dead or what. But, you know, I took care of my kids on my own. It was a struggle. I remember I seen my dad. He took off to Honduras. He continued doing his thing and hurting other young girls over there. He came back one time and I remember asking him and telling him, you know, at that time I was playing the blame game and I, you know, and I told him and I said, you know what, it's because of you that I can't even make the right choices, that I can't even choose a right person in my life and everything. But I remember that the Lord quickened me. Jesus quickened me. And he says, you know, you can't blame him because the enemy is real. You know, he's a lost soul. He is a lost soul. And I remember for a long time everybody would be, oh, you got to forgive, you can't be mad, you can't be mad at him, you can't be this and that. And I was like, man, so I never, I would never get angry. I didn't know how to get angry at anything. So I never knew how to express anger. I never expressed anger at all. So I never got angry at anything. And finally the day came where he ended up getting cancer. And I took care of him. of him nobody understood nobody understood like why are you taking care

of him after everything he put you through but the thing is is that I had actually forgiven him I forgave him I was there next to his deathbed and he looked at me and he asked me for forgiveness and I told him I said dad I forgive you I forgive you but you need to learn to forgive yourself you need to forgive yourself you know I don't remember he ended up leaving to Honduras and he passed away from in Honduras and two days later and I do know that I was told that he did give his life to the Lord and I want to believe that he made it to heaven I want to believe that I want to believe that he was sincere that he did you know it has not been an easy road there has been rejection there has been trust there has been a lot of things there's a lot of stuff that a lot of people don't ever talk about there's things that I think many of us hold for a long long time when you've gone through abuse when you've gone through when you've gone through a lot of pain with any type of abuse whether it be physical mental sexual abuse in a lot of these things and there's things that just mess with your mind and I think a lot of the times even as Christians we carry these things because we're too ashamed to to voice it and the thing is is that you need to be able to voice it if it ain't to our Heavenly Father you need to voice it to somebody because there is help for you the thing is it's it's a heavy heavy load to carry you know I wasn't saved I wasn't saved yet when when I had the abortion but you know I just started I just started volunteering and working for the pregnancy center of Modesto just recently and you know they're pro-life and I love it because it's a Christian Center and I just started they just started doing counseling with me and it's called surrendering the secret you know yeah it's it's amazing because what they do is they help women who have had that trauma for a long time that have carried stuff like this for a very long time it helps them it helps them because they live with these secrets they live with things for a long time and they never get healed from it and these things are important because we carry these the this weight and

sometimes we don't even we don't even give it over to the Lord because we think that it's too big for the Lord to even carry it we don't even want the Lord to know of our secrets but let me tell you something he already knows it he already knows of what's happened to you he already knows of what you're going through so we need to be able to just lay it at his feet and say Lord I can't carry this anymore because what happens that if we don't it seeps over to our children it seeps over to our husbands it seeps over to our families and they're the ones that end up paying the price our children will carry or we we will carry the bitter we will be like Mara we will become bitter we will become hurt we will be that shattered that shattered little girl that will seep through and we will hurt the people that we love because I will tell you what I was doing I was self-sabotaging everything everything good that came my way I was self-sabotaging that True or not, I have an amazing husband that the Lord brought my way. When I met my husband, oh man, the Lord gave me a dream before I even met him. The Lord had showed me in a dream before I had met him. So it was easy for me to, when he gave me this dream, he showed me the road where he lived. He showed me the house where he lived. He showed me the little round table in front of there. In front of his mom's house, there's a little round table. I had seen all of that. I had seen his brothers. I had seen everything. So when I began to talk to him, everything was confirmation and confirmation and confirmation. And I'm like, okay Lord, I'm gonna be obedient and I'm gonna go. I am gonna go. But the moment I came here, because I was so used to a worldly love, it was a worldly love, I did not know how to accept a love of God. Because God was trying, the Lord was trying to love me through a man of God, that I did not know how to accept that. I didn't know how to how to receive that. And here the Lord is giving me a gift, a gift. He was giving me a gift and I did not know when I was trying to self-sabotage something so beautiful. Why? Because I've never known how to receive something so amazing.

We are worthy of what he's trying to give us. We have to open up our arms to receive what he wants to give us. Open up our arms because if we shut them we can't receive what he wants to give us. I am so thankful that I finally began to realize who I was in Christ, who my identity was. I opened up my spiritual ears to listen, to receive what it was that he wanted to for me. I began to hear the voice of God. I became so busy, I became a Martha. Because ministry, ministry, sometimes we get so caught up in ministry, all we want is ministry. But sometimes we have to stop and just listen to what it is that he wants for us. You know I want to share last year, was it last year babe or the year before? The year before towards the end, towards New Year's, about two months around October. You guys remember when pastor was doing the classes, PLBS, how to hear God's voice and all that? Everybody was excited and everything. He's like you should take the class. I'm like I'm too busy, I'm too busy. And he says you should get coming to the class and take it. And I said okay I'm gonna go in there and I'm gonna take it. I started taking the class. You guys, that class is heavy because you have to start journaling. I don't have time to journal. Sharon, the one who has a million things to do constantly, I was like seriously I have to journal? And then on top of that you got to share your, you got to share your input with somebody right? So I was like okay but I didn't want to share it with anybody. But of course my husband's my best friend so I'm like oh I could share it with him. So I started to do it but it got really heavy for me. So guess what the Lord starts doing? He starts waking me up at what time Raven? No, 5. 5 a.m. He starts waking me up 5 a.m. 5 a.m. and I'm like Lord. So I'm like okay because I'm being rebellious to my journaling at the time. The Lord starts waking me up at 5 a.m., 5 a.m., 5 a.m., 5 a.m. And I'm like, okay, Lord, I'm going to my living room, and I'm going to my living room, and I'm going to my living room. And I'm like, okay, what do you want to tell me?

What do you want to speak to me? And he starts speaking to me, starts speaking to me. And one day, we're driving, and we're going to SoCal. I look at David, and I said, David, I don't think my dad was my real dad. He says, what? I said, the Lord told me my dad wasn't my dad. Just, and I'm like, hmm. So, one day, a few days later, I'm talking to my little sister. I said, hey, I said, can we do one of those DNA, those fun DNA things that everybody's doing to figure out, you know, who's what and all that stuff? And she's like, why do you want to do one of those? And I said, can we do one? She's, I want to do a DNA thing. She's, so, maybe you should talk to your mother. Huh. What? Okay. So, I called my mom up. I said, mom, I said, I want to do one of those DNA things. Nique DNA, nique nada. Another way Hispanic moms talk. Yeah, it's exactly like her, with her little accent. Nique DNA, nique nada. I said, mom, I'm being serious. I want to do one of those DNA things, okay? ¿De qué estás hablando? No tienes que hacer esas cosas. Nique DNA, nique nada. I said, mom, I'm going to do one of those DNA things, okay? She got super quiet for a long time, guys.

She goes, I think me and you need to talk. And my heart just went down. So, I have a little abuelita. She's 94 years old. Back then she was only 92. My abuelita is saved, been saved for a very long time. So, my abuelita is my go-to person. She's very spiritual. I love my abuelita. And I know that woman will not lie to me. So, she's the mother of, I don't have, I don't know any other grandparents. I don't know anybody else. She's the only abuelita I know. So, I don't know anybody else. And so, I'm like, I'm going to call that lady. I'm going to put her on the spot. I said, abuelita. She goes, sí, mija. I go, I know you will never lie to me. I said, I have something to ask you. And I said, the Lord showed me and the Lord told me that your son, my dad, is not my real dad. And I said, and I want to know, is that true? And I said, and I called my mom and I asked her. And she goes, and what did your mom say? And I said, she stood quiet. So, my grandma stays quiet for a minute. And she goes, well, there's your answer. She goes, don't tell her I told you.

I go, well, you just did. And she goes, I'm sorry, mija, but we didn't want to, we didn't want to make you feel any different. So, on New Year's Day of 2025, my mom told me the truth. And I ended up getting this little thing, I guess she was leaving me in case she ever died, that says, sorry, mija. Sorry that I took your time from you. And it's my documents of my real father. I can't even begin telling you the confusion or the relief or the mixed emotions. emotions that that might have made me feel that my whole life almost maybe felt like a lie, but at the same time, the relief that it wasn't my real father that did that to me. But at the same time, I almost took my life many times for that man, and I almost didn't exist because of that man. But I go back to the four Ps, persecuted, and I persevered as heck. He positioned me for God's purpose. And I go back to Genesis 50, 20. Yeah, you want to share that, babe? You had Joseph who was thrown in the pit and all those things that happened to him. You had Naomi and Ruth who were completely lost. But after all is said and done, Joseph is now out of prison. He's second under King Pharaoh. He went from the prison to the palace.

And his brothers that accused him, his brothers who threw him in the pit, his brothers who hated him were sitting there. They didn't realize it was him. He showed himself and said, hey, it's me, Joseph. The very one that they hated and they were afraid and they thought, you are second in power. You're gonna destroy us. You're gonna kill us. And in Genesis 5, 18, his brothers came, fell down before him and said, we're your servants. But Joseph said to them, don't fear. For am I in the place of God? He says, because you, what you meant evil against me. But God meant it for good. To bring it about, that's right. To bring it about that many people should be kept alive as they are today. So in other words, what Joseph realized is everything I went through, all the way from my childhood, all the way till now, everything that the devil did to try to destroy me, everybody tried to destroy me. I was made to feel different. I was made to feel out of place. I was made to feel like I was no good. I was meant to feel like I was garbage. I was meant to feel like I was the rejects. And what the enemy meant for evil, God is gonna turn this thing around.

In the same way, Naomi and Ruth find themselves back in Israel. And Naomi says, I'm no longer should be called Naomi, I'm gonna be called Mara, I'm bitter. And Ruth, same thing, Ruth is like, you know what? I don't know Israel, I don't know what to do, I don't know what's happening, but I'm gonna follow you. And Ruth, not realizing it, started working in the fields. She started picking the leftovers. Those of you that know in the tomato fields, you get tomatoes left over once the machine goes through and she was just picking what was left over, hoping she can get some grain to make some bread for her and Naomi. And the harvesters don't leave very much. No, the harvesters don't leave. You don't want to. But there was a foreman, his name was Boaz. And he's like, who's that woman over there? And they're like, oh, that's Ruth, that's Naomi's daughter-in-law. Oh, isn't she from Moab? Yeah, and she followed Naomi back here? Yeah, huh, there's a lot of dignity in that woman. Tell all my workers to drop a little extra grain for her. Matter of fact, tell her not to go in nobody else's fields, pick on my fields. And there goes Ruth, and she doesn't even know it, doesn't realize it. And it says that after a time that Boaz,

he saw her and he took Ruth and she became his wife. She was working in the fields, not knowing that those are the fields that she was gonna own someday. I gladly picked on this field. And it says that he went into her and the Lord gave her conception and she bore a son. And then the woman said to Naomi, bless me. The women, the women, the women that saw Naomi leave and come back with this daughter-in-law with nothing. And they said to Naomi, bless me the Lord who has left you this day without a redeemer. May his name be renowned in Israel because he shall be to you a restorer of life and a nourisher of your old age. For your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is more to you than seven sons, has given birth to him. And Naomi took. the child and laid him on her lap and became his nurse. And the women of the neighborhood gave him a name, saying, a son has been born to Naomi. They named him Obed. He was the father of Jesse, the father of David, who would later come Jesus. You know, as you were putting the story together the other day, a couple of days ago, we were on McHenry going through that Starbucks there by Safeway.

And I looked at her, and I said, I said, you know, it's hard to hear your story. I said, but I'm going to tell you one good thing about it. And she goes, what? I said, all that abuse, betrayal, beatings, cheating is done, because it will never happen again. I said, because I got you, and I will protect you. I said, never again. I said, unless I die and you remarry some loser, but. While I am breathing, that story is done, and we're on a different chapter. And what God meant for evil, I mean, what the enemy meant for evil, God is going to turn it around for good. I told him. He's stuck with me. Y'all are stuck with me. You know, I know we didn't get, I didn't, a lot of the times, we want to just share everything and not. But I know there's probably women like, you know, oh my God, well, you know, I've gone through this, and you know, you haven't gone through this. You know, I've been homeless, been there. You know, you know, I was left for dead. Been there. You know, I was beaten black and blue, and ribs kicked in. Been there. There's just so much that can't share because of the time, you know, but here's the thing. We have got to rise above.

We have to rise above what the enemy wanted us to be. We have to rise above that. You know, just in 2017, you know, my mom used to constantly tell me, you are going to die at the hands of these men hitting you on the head so much. That's probably why you have all these brain issues. I've already had two brain surgeries. And she's all, that's probably why you've had brain surgeries. I'm like, it's OK, mom, because you know what? I'm going to rise above it. I'm going to rise above it. I'm still up here raising and worshiping. After my brain surgery, I wanted to be up here within a week. But guess what? It took me about a month to be up here to worship. But praise God, nothing is going to stop me. If I can be up here in a gurney, I'm going to be up here in a gurney. Because nothing should stop our worship. Nothing should stop your praise. If we still have air in our heart, if the Lord, if you can't even, if you don't even have a tongue to praise and worship, it's OK, because he can hear your heart. He can understand you. He can hear you. You have to praise and worship with everything that you have if you still exist and praise him and worship him. That's why I love when pastor constantly says,

if you see somebody up here worshiping and praising and just running around, when I see my father-in-law up here with that flag, oh my God, because I know what he came out of. Leave them alone, because we do not know what they have come from. Just let them be, because we don't know what they've been through. Let them worship. I love to see our children just, I don't like when they hit somebody on the head with a flag, of course, because these kids sometimes up here, man, they are crazy. You know the reason why we are doing these testimonies is because I think it's important because you know people have came, people have gone and went and it's like a lot of times you know I think that we are misunderstood. There's times I've been misunderstood. I know

Sharon has been hugely misunderstood, not even realizing and the thing is this and I've shared this story a couple times. I'm gonna condense it and share it real quick. There was a man on the bus and his son and his son was just off the hook kind of like the way little Ezra is all the time and just off the hook on this bus and all these people were getting, it was getting on their nerves because the man was just looking out the window not even paying attention, not not saying nothing to the kid, not saying nothing and this kid is just being Dennis the Menace all up and down bugging everybody, poking everybody, taking everybody's food, doing this and that and finally got to the point where the bus stopped, everybody got off to go to the restroom, they saw the man take his son and everybody got around the bus driver and they're like listen you got to tell this man and this kid they're not getting on this bus or none of us are getting back on. This kid is getting on our nerves, we can't take it and what kind of a father is he? What a horrible father. All he does is look out the window the whole time, doesn't even discipline his son and the bus driver didn't know what to do and he's like well I'll tell him he can't get on the bus. He goes but man it's really okay it's gonna be hard because see he he just buried his wife and they were just coming back from the funeral but I'll tell him that he can't get on the bus. Everybody got real quiet, they looked at each other and they said never mind, they slowly got back in the bus. Five minutes later the father comes and the son comes to get on the bus and you know what that little kid did? The same old thing all over again, did it Ezra all over again just completely ravaged that place everybody but you know what nobody got angry. They started loving on the little boy and he was still bad but they started loving on him. So the situation didn't change, the little boy didn't change, the dad kept looking out the window, nothing changed. You know what changed was the perspective of the people. See some of the people that have you leave churches, you've left here or you want to or you're here and you're angry and bitter, you need to change your perspective because you are not the only one that's hurt and if we could just see

ourselves in the same way the situation ain't gonna change. That person is still gonna get on your nerves but now you understand where it comes from and what if just what if we came from a place a little more with a little more humanity in it. If we could all please stand. I like to share these stories, not just mine, not just Angel and Diana's, not just Sharon's or not the future ones that we're gonna share but I just want you to start to realize that every person here has a story and we all came from different places but we're now we're together in this family and that's why I say we're a family dysfunctional as it may but we're in the family and if anyone here if you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ man what better day than today. The Bible says today is a day of salvation tomorrow is not promised. I don't know I know that this talk to some of you women there's even some of you men and maybe this touch maybe your life is completely different but there's something in it. If that is you and you say I want to get saved I want you to repeat after me and if you just repeat it means nothing but if you repeat it out of your heart it means everything and just listen to our heads if that is you those that are watching through their screen say Lord God I repent of all my sins I'm sorry I believe he died on the cross and after three days you rose in power Lord please take out my broken heart and give me a brand new one in Jesus name amen Lord God I thank you Lord for every person that prayed that prayer in the name of Jesus Lord God I pray over them for things to be broken for new chapters to start for whatever brought the pain that the if this sparked something or brought memories or triggered anyone Lord God I pray Lord God that they know that this is going to be a brand new chapter something brand new something that's going to be different you say in Jeremiah 33 3 to cry unto me and I will show you great and mighty things you never imagined because if he could take a life like Sharon's and turn it around for something good he can do it for you too he's the restorer he will take the shattered pieces of your life and put them back together we're gonna open these altars we're gonna worship and I want you to spend some time with the

Amén Bueno, con sus Biblias en sus manos Prepárenlas Porque hoy vamos a leerlas ¿Amén? Quiero que vayas conmigo al libro de Mateo capítulo 5, Mateo capítulo 5. Y hoy vamos a hablar sobre las bienaventuranzas. Las bienaventuranzas son el comienzo del sermón del monte.

Y Jesús enseñando a sus discípulos lo hizo en una colina cerca, colonia o colina como quieras nombrarle, de Capernaum. Y estas enseñanzas de las bienaventuranzas fueron de varias días de predicación. Dice la escritura que había multitud de gente que estaba aquí siguiendo a Jesucristo. Y Jesucristo en el monte les habló sobre las bienaventuranzas. El mundo dice que son felices los ricos, los poderosos y los que hacen su propia voluntad. Pero Jesús dice otra cosa, ¿amen? Jesús presenta un camino diferente, un camino que muchos rechazan. Pero Jesús muestra el carácter de aquellas personas que pertenecen al reino de Dios. Hay una diferencia entre las personas que están buscando el reino del mundo a las personas que están buscando el reino de Dios. A nosotros que estamos buscando el reino de Dios y que estamos alistándonos para entrar en el reino de Dios que está en el cielo, se nos nombra bienaventurados, ¿amen? Somos bienaventurados, en otras palabras, somos bendecidos. Bueno, a veces tú y yo vemos a diferentes personas que tienen su carro lujoso, que tienen su casa grande, que tienen sus posesiones de más. Y a veces nosotros como hijos de Dios miramos que las personas que no están en Dios tienen cosas maravillosas, cosas grandes, ¿verdad que sí? O lo más soy yo. A veces miramos que esas personas que no están en Cristo tienen esas casas lujosas grandes, tienen esas mansiones, tienen esos vehículos, tienen esas posesiones y tienen riquezas, ¿verdad? Y a veces nos preguntamos nosotros, Dios, yo como hijo de Dios y aquellos que no son hijos de Dios, ¿por qué ellos tienen tanto y yo no tengo, verdad? Pero ellos igual que tú, igual que yo, daremos cuenta por todo. Igualmente, tal vez nosotros miramos a personas que tienen demasiado, no le hace. Que Dios los bendiga, ¿amen? Si Dios los quiso bendecir, que así sea. Porque, ¿sabes? La palabra de Dios dice claramente que todo lo bueno viene de dónde? De arriba, donde está Dios, ¿verdad que sí? ¿Amen?

Pero nosotros que estamos en Cristo nunca deberíamos desear lo que otras personas tienen. Porque Dios nos da a cada uno de nosotros lo que necesitamos. Y a veces nosotros tenemos que llegar a la realización de que debemos estar contentos con lo que tenemos. ¿Verdad que sí, Roberto? Debemos estar contentos con lo que tenemos. No debemos que tener avaricia en nuestro corazón o deseo en nuestro corazón de tener cosas que no son dadas a nosotros. Las cosas que se le dan a las personas son de esas personas. ¿Estamos claros en eso? Sí, ¿verdad? Bueno, gloria a Dios por los ricos, gloria a Dios por los pobres, gloria a Dios por los necesitados y por toda clase de personas que hay en este mundo. Gloria a Dios. Nosotros nunca podremos hacer como las demás personas. Tú tienes que hacer como tú eres en este mundo y como Dios te ha hecho. Un consejo sabio que Dios nos da es el consejo de no codiciar y de no caer en la avaricia porque es pecado. Mejor estemos contentos con lo que tenemos porque Dios ha prometido que Él nunca nos dejará ni nos desamparará. En el libro de Mateo capítulo 5 nosotros vemos que Dios describe a unas personas bienaventuradas y se les llama las bienaventuranzas, ¿saben? Mateo capítulo 5 dice, Viendo la multitud subió al monte y sentándose vinieron a él sus discípulos. Y abriendo su boca les enseñaba diciendo, Bienaventurados los pobres en espíritu porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos. Bienaventurados los que lloran porque ellos recibirán consolación. Bienaventurados los mansos porque ellos recibirán la tierra por heredad.

Bienaventurados los que tienen hambre y sed de justicia porque ellos serán saciados. Bienaventurados los misericordiosos porque ellos alcanzarán misericordia. Bienaventurados los de limpio corazón porque ellos verán a Dios. Bienaventurados los pacificadores porque ellos serán llamados hijos de Dios. Bienaventurados los que padecen persecución por causa de la justicia porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos. Bienaventurados son cuando por mi causa los vituperen y los persigan y digan toda clase de mal contra ustedes mintiendo. Gócense y alégrense porque su guardón es grande en los cielos. Porque así persiguieron a los profetas que fueron antes de vosotros. Jesús muestra el carácter de aquellos que pertenecen al reino de Dios. Llamándoles bienaventurados. Las benaventuranzas no describen cómo salvarnos, describen cómo vive una persona que ha sido transformada por Dios. Roberto, a pesar de las cosas que has pasado, tú puedes tener paz en tu corazón, ¿verdad? Eres bienaventurado, ¿amen? Eres bienaventurado, hermano Luis. Por todo lo que has logrado, tú tienes paz en tu corazón, ¿verdad?

Porque eres bienaventurado. Bueno, podemos estar en paz porque tenemos la paz de Dios que sobrepasa todo entenimiento. Aún cuando no tengamos nada, podemos estar en paz. Podemos confiar en Dios y decir, Dios va a proveer. ¿Por qué? Porque Dios es nuestro Dios. Es el dueño de todo, de todo. Filipenses capítulo cuatro, versículo seis a siete dice, por nada estén afanosos, sino sean conocidas sus peticiones delante de Dios en toda oración y ruego con acción de gracias. Y la paz de Dios que sobrepasa todo entenimiento guardará sus corazones y sus pensamientos en Cristo Jesús. Y Primera de Testamento de Ciencias capítulo cinco, versículo 18 dice, denle gracias en todo. ¿A quién? A Dios. Denle gracias en todo, porque esta es la voluntad de Dios para con ustedes en Cristo Jesús. ¿Cuántos de ustedes están en Cristo Jesús? Denle gracias a Dios por los problemas. Denle gracias a Dios por las luchas. Denle gracias a Dios por las buenas y por las malas,

por todo. ¿Amén? Porque esa es la voluntad de Dios. Los que estamos en Cristo siempre tenemos que darle gracias a Dios por todo lo que pase en nuestra vida. Y nunca nos olvidemos que nada pasa por coincidencia, pasa por algo. ¿Verdad que sí? A veces no entendemos la razón detrás de lo que estamos pasando, pero Dios tiene el control de tu vida y déjalo a él ser Dios en tu vida. Él va a hacer lo que tiene que hacer para poder bendecirte, para poder ayudarte y para poder sacarte hacia adelante. Dios nos entiende claramente. Somos su creación. Somos su creación. Dile que está a tu lado. Eres bienaventurado. Dios entiende que somos débiles a veces. Y a veces tenemos muchas preguntas. Porque sí somos nosotros los seres humanos, ¿verdad? ¿Por qué esto? ¿Por qué lo otro? Preguntamos. Pero mejor deberíamos decirle a Dios, ¿qué quieres que aprenda yo de esta enfermedad que tengo?

¿Qué quieres que aprenda yo de esta aflicción que tengo? ¿Qué quieres que aprenda yo con estos problemas que yo tengo? Es lo que debemos decir mejor, ¿verdad? En vez de estar preguntando ¿por qué? ¿Por qué? Mejor dile a Dios, enséñame. ¿Qué quieres enseñarme? ¿Qué quieres decirme con esto que estoy pasando en este día? Entremos al mensaje. Las bienaventuranzas. Las bienaventuranzas no describen cómo salvarnos. Describen cómo vive una persona que ha sido transformada por Dios. Y número uno, ¿qué dice? La primera bienaventuranza es, bienaventurados los pobres en espíritu. Mateo capítulo 5 versículo 3 dice, bienaventurados los pobres en espíritu, porque de ellos es el reino de los cielos. En esta escritura, cuando menciona pobres, no está hablando de personas que no tienen posesiones o dinero. No. Está hablando espiritualmente. Está hablando espiritualmente. Y cuando él está hablando sobre pobres en espíritu, está hablando de personas que están necesitadas de él. ¿Sabes? Algo que nosotros hemos aprendido como cristianos, como hijos de Dios, es de que necesitamos la ayuda de Dios. ¿Sí o no? Por eso somos bienaventurados, porque reconocemos que necesitamos la ayuda de Dios. Todos necesitamos la ayuda de Dios. ¿Sí o no? Ser pobre en espíritu no significa ser débil o tener bajo estima. O baja la estima, como tú quieras ponerle. Significa reconocer nuestra necesidad de Dios. Y cada uno de nosotros que estamos viviendo en este mundo, necesitamos reconocer que si Dios no podemos hacer nada, nada. Por eso nosotros que estamos en Cristo somos bienaventurados,

porque reconocemos la necesidad que tenemos de Dios, de tenerlo a él cada día en nuestra vida. Y muchos prefieren a veces no depender de Dios y quieren depender de sí mismos cuando claramente no lo pueden hacer. Podrán hacerlo por un tiempo, pero tarde o temprano van a mirar hacia arriba y van a decir Dios, ayúdame, ayúdame. Muchas veces el ser humano piensa que tiene que depender de sí mismo, cuando nuestra dependencia siempre debe de ser en Dios. ¿Cuántos de ustedes han logrado algo en este mundo? ¿Has logrado algo en este mundo? ¿Qué has logrado en este mundo? ¿Varias cosas? Nombra una. ¿Mande? Crear a sus hijos. ¿Amá? ¿Qué has logrado en este mundo? Una cosa de todas. ¿Qué dijo? Hablar la palabra de Dios con sus hermanas. Todos nosotros hemos logrado algo, ¿sí o no? ¿Verdad que sí? Hemos logrado algo. ¿Y cómo lo logramos? ¿Con nuestras propias fuerzas o con el esfuerzo que Dios nos dio? Amén. El esfuerzo de Dios. Dos hombres subieron al templo a orar. ¿Dónde subieron? Al templo a orar. Uno era fariseo, ¿qué son fariseos? Una persona religiosa, amén, de una secta. Y el otro publicano, una persona como incorriente como tú y yo, amén. Y dice, el fariseo, puesto en pie, oraba consigo mismo de esta manera. Dios, te doy gracias porque no soy como los otros hombres, ladrones, injustos, adúlteros, ni aún como este publicano. Fíjate nomás. Versículo 12 de capítulo 18 de Lucas dice, ayuno dos veces a la semana, doy diezmos de todo lo que gano, más el publicano, tú y yo. Estando lejos, no quería ni aún alzar los ojos al cielo, sino que se golpeaba el pecho diciendo, Dios, sé propicio a mí, pecador. Les digo, que este descendió a su casa justificado antes que el otro,

porque cualquiera que se enaltece, ¿qué dice ahí? Será humillado y el que se humilla será enaltecido, ¿verdad que sí? Debemos depender de Dios. Nunca dependemos de nosotros mismos. Nunca seamos como este fariseo que estaba apuntando el dedo para allá, pero se olvida que hay tres dedos apuntándole a él, ¿verdad que sí? Dios no puede llenar a quien cree que ya está lleno. Esa es la realidad. La bendición comienza cuando reconocemos nuestra necesidad de él. Mi amada esposa, ¿eres justa? No, ¿verdad? ¿Y cómo eres justificada? A través de Cristo. ¿Sabes? Este fariseo decía, yo no soy como este ladrón, como este y este y este y el otro, ¿verdad? Bienaventurados los que lloran significa que Jesús habla del dolor por el pecado, por las consecuencias del mal y por la condición espiritual del mundo. Y un ejemplo que podemos ver, es cuando Pedro oró amargamente cuando negó a su señor tres veces. Llorar, llorar significa que nosotros que debemos estar arrepentidos de las malas decisiones que hemos cometido en la vida, de las cosas que hemos hecho, que nos avergonzamos hoy de indimensionalas. Y dice que un ejemplo es cuando Pedro lloró amargamente por ver que he negado a su señor tres veces. En Lucas capítulo 22, versículo 54, habla sobre eso. Y dice, Lucas capítulo 22, versículo 54 en adelante, dice Eso no sirve. Dice, Pero él lo negó, diciendo, ¡Mujer, no lo conozco! Un poco después, viéndole otro, dijo, Tú también eres de ellos. Y Pedro dijo, ¡Hombre, no lo soy! Como una hora después, otro afirmaba, diciendo, Verdaderamente, también éste está con él, porque es Galileo. Y Pedro dijo, ¡Hombre, no sé lo que dices! Y enseguida, mientras él todavía hablaba, el gallo cantó. Entonces, vuelto el señor, miró a Pedro, y Pedro se acordó de la palabra del señor que le había dicho, Antes que el gallo cante, me negarás tres veces. Y Pedro, saliendo fuera, lloró amargamente. Bienaventurados los que lloran. Eso es el significado. Los que lloran, porque sabemos que a veces cometemos errores, que a veces fallamos delante de Dios. ¿Verdad que sí? Sí. Hay un lloro que sale dentro de nuestro corazón, cuando nosotros ofendemos a Dios, o hacemos algo en contra de Dios, o a veces no queremos hacer lo que Dios nos manda. Debe de haber un lloro y una convicción grande en nuestro corazón, de modo de que podamos ir delante de Dios, y decirle, perdóname Dios, perdóname. Por eso, bienaventurados son los que lloran.

¿Los que lloran qué? Amargamente por la causa que han hecho, por las cosas que han hecho. Un ejemplo fue Pedro. Ahora, un ejemplo fui yo también, yo puedo decir. ¿Cuántas veces hemos fallado tú y yo en guardar nuestra promesa? ¿Qué le hemos hecho a Dios? Yo a veces cometo el error de hacer una promesa a Dios, porque a veces no la cumplo completamente. Y la palabra de Dios dice que nuestro sí sea sí, y nuestro no sea no. Y también en otra Escritura, Pablo le dijo a Timoteo, por tanto, no te avergüences de dar testimonio de nuestro Señor ni de mi preso suyo, sino participa de las aflicciones por el Evangelio, participa de las aflicciones por el Evangelio según el poder de Dios. Número 9. Bienaventurados cuando os vituperen por causa de Cristo. Mateo capítulo 5, versículo 11 al 12 dice, Bienaventurados son cuando por mi causa los vituperen y los persigan y digan toda clase de mal contra ustedes mintiendo. ¡Gócense y alégrense, porque vuestro galardón es grande en los cielos! perseguieron a los profetas que fueron antes de ustedes. Jesús enseña que cuando somos rechazados por nuestra fe, estamos siguiendo el camino de los profetas y de los verdaderos siervos de Dios. Y una aplicación que debemos aplicar en nuestra vida es de que nuestra recompensa no está solamente en esta tierra. Nuestra recompensa está en el cielo, en el cielo. ¿Estamos de acuerdo en eso? ¿Qué dice Jesús? No hagamos, ¿qué? Tesoros en el mundo, porque aquí la polina, el orín, todo eso corrumpe las posesiones. Pero allá en el cielo, no hay nada de eso. Mejor que atesoremos tesoros en el cielo. Las promesas que tenemos de parte de Cristo son promesas en las que podemos confiar. Y una promesa que nos da Jesús está en el libro de Juan, capítulo 14, versículo 1 en adelante.

¿Qué dice ahí? Juan, capítulo 14, versículo 1 al 3. Jesús hablando dice lo siguiente, ya mero terminamos. Juan, capítulo 14. Esta escritura se usa mucho en los entierros. Juan, capítulo 14. Si así no fuera, yo os lo hubiera dicho. Voy pues a preparar lugar para vosotros. Y si me fuere y os prepare el lugar, vendré otra vez y os tomaré a mí mismo para que donde yo estoy, vosotros también estén. Las promesas que tenemos de parte de Cristo son promesas que se cumplen. Amén. Si Él ha preparado un lugar para ti y para mí en el cielo, hay que asegurarnos de llegar a ese lugar. Y no porque murimos a este mundo, tenemos fácil una entrada al cielo. Vamos a pasar por dificultades. Vamos a pasar por cosas difíciles en la vida, que a veces nos va a dejar con la boca abierta y nos va a dejar como, ah, ¿qué está pasando, ah? Pero, ¿sabes qué? Podemos confiar en Dios. Seamos bienaventurados y apliquemos estas bienaventuranzas a nuestra vida. Porque la realidad es de que somos bienaventurados. Tenemos más bendición de lo que podemos imaginar de parte de Dios. Y vamos a concluir con esto.

Las bienaventuranzas muestran el carácter del ciudadano del reino de Dios. Pobre en espíritu, arrepentido, manso, misericordioso, limpio de corazón, pacificador y fiel en medio de la persecución. Y, como les dije, Jesús mismo cumplió todo esto, ¿verdad? Cumplió todo esto. Él fue el perfecto ejemplo de cómo ser bienaventurado. Bienaventurado. Cuando permitimos que el Espíritu Santo obre en nosotros, comenzamos a reflejar el carácter de Jesús. El carácter de Jesús. Reconozco mis necesidad de Dios. Hay que preguntarnos estas cosas. ¿Tengo hambre de justicia? ¿Estoy mostrando misericordia? ¿Estoy viviendo como un pacificador? ¿Permanezco fiel cuando enfrento oposición? Hagamos estas preguntas a nuestra vida hoy y pónganse de pie. Les pido que hagan esta oración conmigo. Cierren sus ojos. Y repite conmigo esta oración. Di, Señor Jesús. Forma en mí el carácter que tú tienes. Te ruego que me hagas vivir las bienaventuranzas para que otros puedan ver tu gloria en mi vida y para que yo pueda ser el ejemplo en este mundo de cómo ser bienaventurado en el nombre de Jesús. Y hoy en este día, tú que estás mirando en esa celda, en Pando, en Idobo, o si estás mirando en Facebook, en YouTube, te pido que si quieres entregar tu vida al Señor, hoy es el día de salvación. Y tú puedes confesar a Jesús como Señor y Salvador hoy y asegurarte de tu vida en este mundo, de que cuando mueras, tú puedes ir al cielo si permaneces fiel a Dios. Repite conmigo esta oración de fe y dice, Señor Jesús, yo reconozco que soy pecador y necesito tu perdón.
