Born For Harvest

Bro, thank you so much, Jeremy, for not calling me a guest. I was about to get offended, walk out of the room. It was this close, you know. No, I'm part of the Antioch family, helping Drew and Bethany and Brady and Lauren and Brookie and all those guys plant the church in Kona, but it's really in a place called Hulu, Aloha. Drew made sure I wear this shirt. I said, hey, you gotta pay me. No, I'm just kidding. But to be this walking ad. But more than that, such a joy. Such a joy. God is moving so powerfully in the Hawaiian Islands, and it's incredible to see how Antioch has just immediately been grafted into the story, bringing real apostolic leadership and really believing for churches planted across the Hawaiian Islands. And it's been so fun to see. You know, and Drew really came in well with the team, and they are now meeting in this church. It's an over 100-year-old building. Yeah, and it's amazing what's been going on there. Let's just show a picture. So last December, Jimmy and Laura came by and visited, and this was December. How nice does that look? Okay, this is December, and this is actually their church's overflow room, right?

So when there's not enough room in this little building here on this church, you find yourself in the yard right there with that view, two speakers listening to Drew, and Drew was saying, hey, I think I'm gonna put a TV out there so people can see me, and I was like, Drew, let's be real, bruh. Ain't nobody been looking at the TV when they can see that view and encounter God. That's God's platform. Like, ain't nobody need to look at a TV, right? And so this is a great view. I should have actually showed this to you guys last week when you were in the middle of the ice storm, you know, and then just gave a real call to come to Hawaii, you know, in the middle of, while all your guys' power was out, but you know what I mean? We know that you're not moved that way, but you're moved by the Holy Spirit. So, but really, it's such a joy to be here. Not the same without Jimmy and Laura here, of course, but we're so glad they're on sabbatical getting rest and refreshment. They are such fathers and mothers across the body of Christ. You guys heard Lo from Upper Room Share yesterday, and really, like, even Upper Room, they said it themselves. They're like, man, we might not have made it

through this last season if it wasn't for Jimmy and Laura, and we would say the same. They've been such fathers and mothers to us in Kona, pouring out their wisdom so selflessly, and it's just such an honor to be here. Also, just wanna honor Joe. So grateful for Joe. Man, you guys love Joe. You know, every time Joe approaches me, I'm not sure what I'm gonna get, you know what I mean? But like, a nice fat hug, a word of encouragement. You know, I'll get ready to be slain. Who knows what happens? And also, I just wanna thank Austin and Jeremy for inviting me to World Mandate. Yeah, thank you guys. Love you guys so much. And of course, Jackie, who's been organizing everything, and making it happen. She's the best. So joyful the entire time. But it really is an honor to be here with you guys. And I think last time I was here was a little less than two years ago, and this place has continued to inspire, continued to provoke, continued to draw me closer to Jesus. Thank you so much for all those who said yes to go long-term. Man, I had so many tears as I was watching your lives being laid before the Lord. We all know every nation longs for a king like Jesus,

that he is the desire of the nations, he's the Lord of the harvest. And for those to be his body, to say yes to going to Belize, or South Africa, or Myanmar, or many other nations, I just honor you all immensely. And I just wanna say thank you. I was so freshly provoked for a love for Jesus and the Great Commission. And can you guys give it up for all those guys saying yes to that long-term team again? So amazing, so, so amazing. Well, tonight I just wanna share with you a few simple heart pieces, and then we're gonna have some time to respond to the Lord. Man, Jesus is so good. And I've been a missionary for 21 years, and the longer I keep following him, I just realized, man, I'm so weak, yet he is so strong. I'm so inconsistent, yet he is so consistent. And even at times when I'm faithless, he is faithful, because he cannot deny himself, and he does not change. And I think I've shared this before, but he truly is more committed to the plans he has in our life than we are to finding it. He's a better leader than we'll ever be followers. And his ability to speak to us is greater than our ability to hear from him. And yes, thank you, Lord. And you just realize, even though our yes may feel feeble at times, even somewhat hesitant at times,

times, but when it's sincere, that God can really use that yes. And ultimately, it's not just being used by God, but it's about finding He Himself as our reward. He is our inheritance. He is our great delight. If we're more concerned about what He's doing through us or what He's gonna do in us than really who He is to us, then we've missed it. It's really about knowing Jesus and His heart for the nations of the earth. So that's what we're gonna talk about tonight, and we're gonna have a little bit of a response time and just see how the Holy Spirit leads us. So Jesus, today we just say we're so grateful for you. You are truly the desire of the nations. You are truly the king that every nation longs for. You are the desire of every individual human heart, whether they know it or not. And you are the king that every individual human heart longs for. And today we just ask that you would give us a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of who you are. And we just ask that your glory and your presence would fill this time. We thank you. Revelation says that the radiance of your face fills the heavens with your glory, that the Lamb's face itself will be the light. And today, Lord, we just ask that that glory that fills the heavens would come and the knowledge of that glory would fill the earth as the waters cover the sea. Lord, this is our longing, this is our desire. So take us deeper into your heart and your heart for the nations of the earth tonight. We love you, Jesus, that we can be a small part, God, of a great story that's being told, not traced back to one man, one ministry, one movement, but traced back to the Lord Jesus himself. Before you and by you and through you were all things created and have their very being. And so today we honor you and we ask, come and lead us, Holy Spirit, in Jesus' name,

amen. Can I get a bottle of water? Sorry, I get really thirsty. Oh, there you go. Appreciate it, bro. Give it up for Austin. Thank you. All right. Well, I've spoken here a number of times and I've shared a little pieces of my story. But for those of you who don't know me, I always say my life is a trophy of grace and a product of prayer, a trophy of grace and a product of prayer. And I'm so grateful for my praying, interceding Korean mom, so grateful for her. For 10 years, I walked away from the Lord and at the height of it was selling drugs and addicted to pornography, an alcoholic, and just so broken at the core, depressed, anxious, but so grateful for my praying mom. I am a true product of prayer. And it was great just to even a year ago, my mom was saying, Sonno, it's awesome to see that even when I prayed 25 years ago, I see God answering even to this day. Do you know that not one prayer has gone unanswered? Do you know that they filled real bowls in a real heavenly place that has been poured out on your life? That none of them have an expiration date or a shelf life, but like are still being poured out and heard and swirling around before the throne room of grace. And so today I just stand before you as a trophy of grace and a product of prayer. And simply as one who said yes, weak yes, hesitant yes at times, sometimes a zeal fulfilled yes. But I've just said, Lord, I commit not to take my foot off the gas pedal and continue to put my life in that offering bucket. And the more and more I read scripture, I realized, man, it's just really filled with a ton of weak people who knew an extravagant and incredible God.

And I think I've shared this here before, but I'll say it again. You know, God is the one who calls things forth as if they already were, right? Think about the lives of these people in the scripture. So for example, God says, Gideon, rise up, you're a mighty warrior. And Gideon's literally hiding in the wine press, peeing his pants, terrified of the Midianites. Yet God is the one who calls things forth as if they already were. He's like, mighty warrior, I just ruined this whole village's stash of wine. I'm sorry about that, right? Or God says, Abraham, you will be a father of many nations. And Abraham's like, God, I hate to tell you, but I'm like 100 years old. My wife's 100 years old. I don't need the power to reproduce, let alone be a father and a father of many nations. Like this is mind-blowing to me. Yet God is the one who calls things forth as if they already were. Or the same with the life of Peter. Jesus says to Peter, you are a rock. And his friends are like, rock? That dude is the most emotionally unstable dude I've ever met before. He's a hothead, he's got an anger issue. You wouldn't believe it, he went to the best e-school ever, three years straight with the Son of God and the Son of Man, and still pulled out a sword and cut off Malchus's ear, you know what I mean? Like before Jesus was about to get crucified. So I was like, there's nothing really rock-like or anything stable about that guy. But yet Jesus is the one who calls things forth as if they already were.

And they continued to give their sincere yes to the Lord. You know, and I think about the life of Peter, really no difference between him and Judas, except how they responded in their failure and how they turned their heart to the Lord, even in the midst of both their betrayals. We serve an incredibly gracious and loving and patient God. And so much of the journey of saying yes over and over and over again is to discover who he is, that he's our reward, he's our inheritance. And so tonight I just wanna share with you guys the story that the Lord's inviting us into. Every single one of you designed with such intention. I always say your mother's womb was God's art studio. He was making a masterpiece. Not a replica, not a fugazi, not a knockoff Gucci bag, right, in this downtown Seoul, not a replica. I'm talking about a unique masterpiece designed with real, I've bought one of those before, real intention, right? Anyways, sorry, I diverged quickly. Okay, so, but you are an actual masterpiece knit together in your mother's womb. And Ephesians 2 says it so clearly, you are Christ's masterpiece, created in advance to do good works. We are his intellectual property, right? Imagine the iPhone is the intellectual property of Apple, of Steve Jobs. But imagine if the iPhone was like,

I don't wanna be an iPhone, I wanna be a galaxy. It would just seem so outrageous to think of, yet so often at times people walk around in life, not knowing their creator, thinking they're a galaxy when they should be an iPhone. And I don't even wanna start the debate, but what I'm saying is that you've been made for real intentionality and real purpose. God knows the gifts that you have, the talents that you have, the story that you have. He knows the generational blessing you have. He knows the redemptive path that you have. He knows exactly how to lead our lives. And the beautiful thing is, is that he's drawing us in. He's not far away, not distant, but he's so involved, so intentional as the Holy Spirit, moving in your life and looking for one another to partner with what his spirit is doing in individual lives and in the nations of the earth. And so it's such a joy to share with you the things that are in God's heart tonight. Well, as you guys know, we live in a time of incredible hardship and incredible harvest. I think you don't have to be a rocket scientist or even a super discerning person. My wife's really discerning. She's more of an intercessor, way more prophetic. I'm just kinda like meat and potatoes, like Bible, word, pray, you know what I mean? Like I'm not that discerning.

She's like, you feel that? I was like, I don't feel anything, except maybe they need to turn the AC up a little bit, right, but she's so discerning. But even a non-discerning guy like myself, you know, would know like there's a real shakings that are going around across the earth. One week, it's Venezuela. The next week, it's Iran. The next week, it's this moral decay. The next week, it's this school shooting. The next week, it's this natural disaster. And in the time of great uncertainty and instability and in these midst of shakings, God is drawing men and women to himself. The son of man is being lifted high and drawing the nations to his very self. And in the midst of these great points of hardship that are happening, there is a great global harvest. And I would actually argue the greatest global harvest in human and Christian history that's happening right now in our generation. And the Lord is going around, walking, just tapping people on the shoulder saying, I want to draw you into my story. I want you to live out your intelligent design. I want you to step into what I've actually created you for. Will you align yourself with me and let me do great and wondrous things through you if you simply give your yes?

And there is an invitation for us to do that. We live in this time of great global harvest. And tonight, I wanna talk a bit about Gen Z, not to just single out Gen Z or Gen Alpha because every generation's important in our community. We have seven generations that are all active whose hearts are on fire. But there is something about Gen Z and Gen Alpha that I wanna emphasize tonight. But let's talk about the global harvest. You guys know this stuff, but I'm just gonna say it anyways. Did you know more Muslims have come to know Jesus in the last 20? years in the last 1,400 years combined this is mind-blowing to think of and you heard real-life real-time testimonies this morning from a real practitioner from a real house just like this who is just like you and me saying yes to the Great Commission Jesus showing up in dreams yeah and and and it's profound to see what's happening the fastest growing church in the world right now is in Iran the second fastest growing church in the world is in Afghanistan and it's crazy these are the places when you look on the news you would never hear those kind of stories but it's happening for the first time ever in human history every language on earth will possibly have the scripture in their own mother tongue for the first time ever in human history and you are alive right now to see every nation every tribe every tongue have the dignity you and I have to worship him in spirit and in truth to know his nature and character and the joy to be obedient to the Great Commission the great dignity that every nation will be able to participate in and we live in that time in human history so incredible but I want to talk specifically about what God's doing amongst Gen Z because we've been we work with tons of young people from all over the world and I just want to share some good news with you tonight and then I want to talk

about the invitation of what it means to take responsibility for our generation recently we were in Norway and I heard an incredible statistic I couldn't believe it five years ago there was a secular study done and they were doing the survey amongst Gen Z believers in Norway and they found out that 91% of Norwegian Gen Z were actually ashamed of sharing the gospel ashamed they were hiding they wouldn't tell people about who Jesus is five years later and they don't know what changed other than its sovereign move of God they not only found out that that statistic had changed but now nearly 40% of Gen Z believers in Norway were now preaching the gospel three times a week so think they went from 91% ashamed and hiding to now almost 40% proclaiming multiple times a week and they can't they don't know what the source of that actually is in the UK they said the church is now quadrupled in size you know you guys have heard about it the silent revival and there they're tracing back the growth to two uncommon groups number one is men isn't that awesome we need more biblical masculinity to arise and men to rise and take their place and then the second demographic is actually amongst Gen Z so the quadrupling of this church size in the UK is actually traced back to those two groups Barna just recently did a study that came out I think about three or four months ago that for the first time ever in the you know not for the first time ever for the first time in the u.s. since 1982 the church is actually growing in incredible in real growth and again trace back to those two groups men and Gen Z so there's something that's beginning to stir and happen amongst young people I want to say to you Gen Z Gen Alpha God has pre-wired you he's the one who knit you together in your mother's womb he has pre-wired you for the time of global harvest that we are actually in with great intentionality for you not to be born in a previous generation or a hundred years ago or in a further on generation but right here right now you're not just the leaders of tomorrow you're the leaders of today and I trust the Spirit of God in you and I want to follow you up any hill of battle for real I really mean it when I say that amazing but it's not just happening in the West it's happening across Asia on

June 20th I will be in Mongolia where we're where they have a 33 year old Christian history and for the first time ever we're going to have the largest Christian event in Mongolia and it will be the average age of registration is 21 years old amazing and they are tough if you have to endure a minus 40 degree winter you are tough and they're nomadic and they live in like tents in minus 40 degrees right but when I was there so many of them saying I'm about to move into North Korea I'm about to move into Tajikistan I'm about to move into Kyrgyzstan and they're like God has called us to go into all the nations that are surrounding them into Central Asia into North Africa and it's they're being driven with this desire to introduce the unreached and the nations to Jesus. In South Korea, I'm Korean American, and I'm grateful for our amazing spiritual heritage there. Korea at one point in time was the fastest growing Christian nation in the world. You know, think about it, just 120, 130 years ago, we were the unreached, right? We were, some people called it the hermit kingdom, but yet because of missionaries who came, multiple outpourings of the Holy Spirit and revival, God took a nation, and then he took it from 2% Christian almost to 30% Christian if you include certain brand of Catholic. And it happened in one generation. And in the same way as it became the fastest Christian nation in history, also Korea became the fastest post-Christian nation in history. Yeah, not something to be proud of.

And there's a lot of reasons, but I'm not gonna get into all of them. And so recently, over the last six or seven years, Korea was so concerned, because if you were born in 1990 or after, Korea was 2.5% Christian. How do you go from nearly 30% to 2.5% that Gen Z and young Koreans were an unreached people group surrounded with some of the biggest churches in the world? So people were so concerned. 70% of the churches there didn't have a youth group or Sunday school. Imagine this, 10,000 churches closed during COVID. And it seemed like a crisis. Yet, how many of you know, in the midst of godless leadership, God will raise up a young David? How many of you know, in the time of Babylon, he has a young Esther or a young Daniel in the shadows? How many of you know, in the time of the judges, where they called right things wrong and wrong things right, he had a young Deborah to be a judge to restore family life? And right now, in Korea, they're seeing a sovereign move of God amongst young people. And I remember we were doing this huge event in Korea, 10,000 young people at one of the largest churches in Korea. And I remember while we were praying on who should preach, we thought, you know what, we gotta get this young high school student to be the main speaker. That'll shake Korea up, you know?

Because we're all about our degrees and all that stuff. And honestly, it was a unity event with lots of pastors, and many of them came to us. And they said, Sono, you can't have him share. He doesn't have the credentials. Man, what if he says something heretical? You know, we have all these churches gathered. And even though there was a bunch of pushback, we said, no, just trust us. I believe the Holy Spirit is highlighting this young high school student. So they were like, a little bit skeptical. They said okay. And then the night came after worship, and this young high school student, no one would ever know him. He starts to share. And then he starts to share how one day the Holy Spirit had led him and said, I want you to pray for your school every single day for the next 300 days straight. And then I want you to preach the gospel every single day for the next 300 days straight, and see what begins to happen. So he's sharing this testimony, and how he prayed for quite some time, nothing happening. Sharing the gospel, people mocking him. But he didn't care. He had his 300-day assignment. And then I forgot, it was like the 80th, 90th day or something, he saw his first friend give his life to Jesus.

And then he saw more classmates give their lives to Jesus. Then he led his teacher to Jesus. And then he led his principal to Jesus. And during that 300 days, had seen hundreds of people in his high school come to know Jesus. And then him and a group, they started these evangelistic gatherings, like clubs, to pray and to preach the gospel in their high schools. Now there's over 1,000 high school-led high school groups across 1,000-plus high schools in Korea, all student-led in the last five years. What in the world is God doing amongst young people? It's so wild. You guys ready for some more good news? All right, all right. I got a bunch of countries here. I don't think I can even get through them all. Last week, I was in Brazil. How many of you guys love Brazil? And man, Brazil is on fire right now. One of my roles is I help lead a movement called The Send. And we just had The Send in Brazil. And we just gathered 270,000 primarily young people in five stadiums on the exact same day across five major areas of Brazil. Wild to coordinate, something like that. And man, two of the stadiums were like blistering hot. I'm talking about like over 100 degrees, the humidity was out the roof, but yet all these young people filling the fields,

huge water bottles, just drinking a ton of water, trying to stay hydrated, worshiping, pouring out their hearts, pouring out their guts. Then it started dumping rain. I mean like torrential downpour of rain. All they did is throw a little park on if they had it, a little trash bag on, it doesn't even matter. And they did not move an inch. All they were doing was worshiping and adoring the Lord. During that time, tens of thousands of miracles happened. People getting out in wheelchairs, you know, like people leaving their crutches on the field. But probably the point of greatest passion for me was that over 20,000 young people signed up for a four-year commitment to the mission field, to the unreached. 20,000 of them. We made the call really clear. Don't just lift your shoes. We believe Brazil could become the number one mission-sending nation in the world. And today could be the biggest missions mobilization day in Christian history. Not to say anything about us, but to say what God is doing in our generation. How he's pre-wired Gen Z, pre-wired Gen Alpha during this time of great global harvest in the midst of shakings and hardship. God has a great solution, and it's been an activated church.

And there, over 20,000 young Brazilians signed up to go to the unreached. And it's incredible to see what's happening. This is why I love coming to World Mandate. I love being around Antioch. I wept this morning praying for you, thinking about the countless ones who've given their life for what's so dear in the heart of the Lord, the very nations of the earth. And if we really enter into the throne room of grace with confidence, and we start walking closer to the throne room of God, and we see the Lord sitting there, and at his right hand, the Son of Man, the resurrected King in his glorified body at the right hand of the Father, a real place, not a fairy tale, not a veggie tale, not an abstract place, a real place that's more real than the ground you're standing on now. This ground will fade. And if you get close enough to the heart of the Lord, you will hear Jesus speaking, Psalm chapter two, where he says, Father, you've promised me to ask for the nations of the earth as my inheritance, to ask for the ends of the earth as my possession. And if we get close enough, we'll start to hear what's in the heart of the Lord for the nations of the earth. Gen Z, Gen Alpha, God has an incredible call on your life. And there's an invitation tonight to really jump in.

While I was praying for you guys today, a word, a simple word fell into my spirit. And it was the word to be a responsibility taker. We live in a day and an age where people are excuse makers. They wanna blame someone, it's always someone else's fault, it's someone's leadership fault, someone, a president's fault, a church leader's fault, a society person's fault, a general cultural moment fault, whatever it might be, everyone is an excuse maker and really pointing the finger and blaming. But I believe what the Lord is longing for in this day and this time are responsibility takers. And I was reminded of Exodus chapter three, which is a passage you guys are super familiar with, but it's when Moses has his encounter at the burning bush. You guys know it, he's taking his flock out, they're deep in the wilderness, and he sees a peculiar sight. He sees a bush that's burning bright. And yet, even though this bush is on fire, it is not burning out. So he gets closer just to check it out. And as he gets closer and closer and closer, we know the passage, the voice from within, which is the angel of the Lord says, "'Moses, take off your shoes, for this is holy ground.'" And I don't know, Moses probably wandered around that wilderness quite a bit, every single day with that same flock. And what made this moment and this day

any different than any other day? And maybe it was his awareness of God's presence, awareness of his presence. holiness, awareness of that moment that this bush was calling him. And it's great, as Moses has this supernatural encounter, Moses responds in such a human way. God gives him an assignment, and he's like, hey, I want you to deliver Israel out of Egypt. I have heard the cry of the oppressed. I've heard their cry, and oh, how I'm going to respond. And Moses, not a responsibility taker in this moment, but an excuse maker, makes five different excuses why he's not able to, and God should pick someone else. I could so relate with what he was going through. First, he's like, God, who am I? How many of you have stood here at World Mandate and the call to nations, the call to change the world? You look at all these heroes of the faith standing on the stage, and you say like, really, who am I? If I were to be honest with myself, who am I that God would actually choose me? And we've all wrestled with that sense of being underqualified, not having what it takes, not being holy enough, and then almost when God calls, immediately our response is like, who am I, Lord? And there God, in his kindness, convinces over and over again, Moses, this is why you should go. And then Moses makes a second excuse.

He's like, well, I can't even explain who you are to them. Like, what if they ask me, like, who sent me? And I try to share, and I don't even have the right words, and God goes on again, convincing Moses. Please, you can do this. And he has all these wonderful verses on how it happens. And then again, Moses is like, I don't really have what it takes. What if I tell them what you just told me to tell them, but they don't respond? How many of you have felt that way before? God's already given you the word of the Lord, and you wanna go and share the word of the Lord, but you're like, what if I share the word of the Lord, and they don't even respond, even though I know it came straight from you? We've all felt that way before, right? And he's like, okay, what if I actually do what you're telling me to do, and then nothing really changes? They don't respond. And then again, God, in his kindness and his patience, convinces Moses again. And then Moses then goes, I don't have the giftings. Like, I can't even speak, I have a stuttering problem. I can really relate to that, because my greatest fear was public speaking. If you would have told me 20 years ago that, Sono, you're gonna fill a stadium next last week in Brazil, and you're gonna preach,

I'd have been like, yeah, right. First time I had to speak at a church with 10 people in Fiji, they're like the nicest people. They smile all the time. I got so nervous, I ran behind the church and vomited. And then my team's like, you got this. They're prophesying over me. You're a speaker of truth. And I'm like, I got vomit on my face. I'm not a speaker of truth, you know what I mean? So I understand where Moses was coming from. He's like, I got a stuttering problem. And then God's like, you know what? I got a solution for that. Don't worry, I got your Aaron, he's ready. He got your backup. It says this crazy word. He's like, you're gonna be like God. You're gonna be speaking the words, and then it's gonna be going through him as he shares with everyone else. And then finally, after God says this to Moses, for the fifth time, you gotta love Moses' fifth excuse. He goes, God, can you just choose somebody else? You gotta love that. God, really, just pick anyone but me. Like I'm like the last round draft pick. I have a stuttering problem, got vomit on my face. Wait, that was me. And then, you know, like,

but yet in the end of the day, Moses takes responsibility. He says yes, even in the midst of his wrestlings with God. And this is what it means to be a believer. Because right now, we have too many excuse makers, too many blame shifters, too many people telling everyone why there's so many problems in the world, and not taking responsibility. You know, I'm a father, I have four kids. And I remember I was in Vancouver, actually at Brandon's, Cybert's house. Gotta give it up for Brandon, love that guy. And I remember he was so gracious to open up his home, even give us their master bedroom for our family to stay in. And I remember before we got there, I was giving my kids that like, you know, like dad speech, coaching moment. Hey, we're at a pastor's house, they're awesome, you know, they're gonna be so fun, but hey, let's be respectful. You know, this is not our home, let's leave it better than we found it. You know, all the stuff that you do, right? And so my kids are like, yeah, yeah, some of them paying attention, some of them not. I won't say which ones, because there's one in his room right now. But in that moment, we had a great dinner. They cooked like this carne asada, which was awesome. You know, yeah, you guys love that. I'm sure it wasn't as good as the carne asada here,

but he tried his best. Pacific Northwest, you know, you got to give it up for him. So, and I remember after we ate, we had such great fellowship, just talking about the ways of God, laughing. And then afterwards, my son, Ezra, who's here right now, does the most amazing thing. It might not sound like a big deal, but when you're parents, you'll think it's a big deal. After dinner, he takes his plate and he goes to the sink. He clears off the little bit that's left on his plate in the trash can, and then he puts it in the dish inside the sink and starts to wash it. Whoa! There he is, right there. So, you know, I celebrate that moment just like the 52,000 people in the stadium. I was like, this is a move of God, right? So I was like, yes, my son took responsibility for his own mess. What it means to be a believer is will we take responsibility first for our own lives and for our own mess? Are we forgiving our ex-boyfriend or our ex-girlfriend? Are we forgiving that authority figure that might have hurt us in the past? Are we taking responsibility for our own prayer life and to pray for the nations of the earth? Are we taking care of our life of holiness and purity? Are we taking responsibility for our faith?

Are we expecting our pastor, our life group leader, our d.school leader, or whoever else, and outsourcing what's actually our responsibility for our own life? And believers need to take responsibility for their faith. If we were simply obedient to every simple scripture, it would be overnight revival. Think about 1 Thessalonians 5. If you prayed without ceasing, right? If you continue to pour out your life in this way, if you continue to forgive, if you gave thanks in all circumstances, it would be like overnight revival. If we simply walked out Romans 12, never be lacking in zeal, it would be like overnight revival, because we took responsibility for our own walk because we have the word of God and we have the spirit of God inside of us. We know the right thing to do, and this is a time where God wants to not just inspire, but he's looking for action. In a time of hardship and shaking, an activated church has always been the solution. The power of the gospel to transform individual lives, families, neighborhoods, cities, and the nations of the earth. But will we take responsibility for our own mess? But then when we were at Brandon's house, after my son washed the dish, I was like, whoa, I couldn't believe this. Something even greater happened.

He went back to the table. He said, are you done, are you done, are you done? People are like, yes, and he started collecting their plates. Took his little stack of dishes, put it in the sink, started washing it. Because taking responsibility is not just for our own mess. Because taking responsibility is not just for our own mess, but it's taking responsibility for a mess we didn't create. You are not the reason for trafficking in the state of Texas, but you will take responsibility for it. You are not the reason for poverty in Waco, but you will take responsibility for it. You are not solely responsible for the unreached who have never heard the name of Jesus before, but you know what, you will take responsibility. You might not even be responsible for the broken patterns that the generations before you and your family line did, but you will take responsibility, and you will break every generational curse, every generational pattern, and create a new genealogy and trajectory that will affect generations to come. Thank you. Because you have chosen to take responsibility to clean a mess that you didn't create. And this is at the heart of who Jesus is. Imagine if Jesus, before he came to the earth as a man, born in an Asian manger, putting on his earth suit, was talking with the Father and the Holy Spirit. You know what, Father, Holy Spirit,

I know that this was like my job, but you know what, I didn't really make that mess. I didn't tell Adam and Eve to do that, they did it on their own. My God, we had to give them free will so they could choose us in love, it makes sense, and they chose wrong, I'm sorry. And especially you're asking me to lay down all this unlimited power. Like I'm the great I am, I'm the uncreated one. And you're telling me to humble myself in this way? I can't even be born like at a nice hospital, I gotta be born in an Asian manger filled with animal doo-doo? Nah, I don't really feel like it, I don't wanna take responsibility for their mess up. No, that's ridiculous. Jesus took responsibility to clean a mess that he did not create. Will we begin to take on a life that looks like Christ in this way? There's an invitation. There's a time of sobriety across the body of Christ now. There's a time of awakening. There's a time of holiness, of consecration. There's a time where God takes the Queen Mary and repositions it for war. Will we be excuse-makers like the rest of the world, or will we take responsibility in our generation? And so many ask, Sonno, you work so much with Gen Z, what do you think is the future of the church?

And honestly, I've wrestled with that question. And when a young person asks me, I usually answer them this way now. I said, I'm not sure, but it's the test of your generation. I don't care what you think, but it's the test of your generation. I don't know, but it's the test of your generation. Every generation has a responsibility to take things further, to make things better, to make the gospel even more pure and aligned with the Word of God. And I'm not sure. This is the test of our generation together. Okay. Thank you, Lord. You know, we're living in this time of great global harvest, but there is a massive challenge still. And I feel funny sharing it with you guys because you're like actually the example I look to when it comes to laying down your life for the unreached, when it comes to laboring for the lost, when it comes to remembering the nations that most people can't even pronounce. But we know there's a massive challenge that still exists called the unreached. 3.4 billion who've never heard the name of Jesus before. Did you know over 155,000 people will die every single day without hearing the name of Jesus? And I know we're all about real injustice issues. What you guys are doing in Southeast Asia

to combat anti-trafficking is massive. What Kevin Johnson is doing through Acts of Mercy, he's my hero. When I think about the 30 plus crises that they've brought relief for firsthand, seeing it and hearing the testimonies from our friends in Myanmar. So they're real injustices and I get it. They're real issues. But the greatest injustice is this, is that there's many, 3.4 billion who've never heard the name of Jesus once. This has eternal impact. And we're talking a lot about the second coming of Christ, but 3.4 billion haven't even heard that he's come once. This is not okay. And this is deep in the heart of the Lord. Can we pull up those portraits? You know, we give a call to the nations and sometimes it feels abstract. We've heard it before, we've commissioned people before, but these are all pictures of real faces with real stories that we've captured through our own teams recently amongst the unreached. And I've been finding myself in my personal prayer times just scrolling through, just looking them in the eyes, and trying to imagine where their life actually is. What's going on in their families? What's going on in their villages? What's going on in their governments?

What's going on in their lives? Just look at them for a moment. Real people, real places, and real nations. Not an abstract concept for us to etherealize, but real people. If you go to Matthew chapter nine, verse 35 through 38, you guys know this scripture. But it says, Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues, and announcing the good news about the kingdom. and he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, the harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest, ask him to send more workers into his field. We know this passage. We know Jesus was the Son of Man, his most named name in the New Testament. We know he had that human limitation where he could only be in one place at one time. And we knew wherever he went, whatever village he went through, every sickness had to bow down, every problem had a solution, and the kingdom of God was breaking in. But imagine, as he went from village to village to village, he eventually comes over a hill, I would imagine,

and then he sees a crowd, maybe the same size as this. And it says that he looked upon the crowd. Look upon the nations. Look upon the unreached. Look upon the Muslim world, the Buddhist world, the Hindu world. Look upon the 3.4 billion who have never heard his name one time. And it says that Jesus looked upon them, and he was moved with compassion. He saw they were helpless and harassed, like sheep without a shepherd. Imagine, he sees, man, this family's on the brink of divorce here. Man, this guy's gonna die in three days, and no one has gone to share the gospel with him. He looked upon the crowds, and his heart was moved with compassion. And in that moment, he turns to his disciples, and he says, pray, pray, pray. Pray to the Lord of the harvest, because this 3.4 billion harvest is plentiful, but the workers and the laborers are few. We know it's not a harvest issue. Jesus said it's plentiful. It's not a harvest issue. It's a laborer's issue. It's a compassion issue. It's the heart of God issue. Oh, to know what's in the heart of the Lord.

Can we show that picture from Mongolia? A couple years ago, my family and I, we were like, we just gotta get in the nations. Of course, we go, but a couple summers we went, a couple summers ago, we went to Mongolia. It's a nation we've deeply fallen in love with, and we've had this Bible initiative. We've gotten Bibles into all 365 major villages. Yeah, we're about to do a full saturation of the entire city of Ulaanbaatar, and then we're going after, yeah, hundreds of thousands of Bibles distributed, so many salvations because of it. So my family and I, we jumped in a car with some teams, and we drove like a bunch of hours. I don't know, 15, 20 hours, I don't even remember. We're just in a car driving and driving and driving, and if you've ever been to Mongolia, it's just like spark, like there's so much land and no human beings, and I remember we drove literally for three, four hours, and finally, we see this little girl just in the middle of this field. We're like, a person, let's stop. So we stop, we drive up with the four-wheel vehicle. We knock on their little door, and they open the door like, who the heck are you, and why are you here right now? Especially, they realized quickly we couldn't speak Mongolian.

They're like, why are you out here, and why are you in front of my door? So they offered to us to come into their home, and then we're hanging out a bit, and eventually, I give them the Bible, and I say, this is the gift of God, it's the word of God, and then I share the gospel with the family. After I share the gospel, the mom, she has tears running down her face, and she says to me, if this is true, if this is true, this is the greatest news that I've ever heard in my entire life. And I looked at her, and I said, it is true. Would you like to give your life to Jesus? She said, yes, yes. So we prayed together, she gives her life to the Lord, born again, we keep drinking tea. Hanging out, five minutes into our conversation or so, she stops me. She says, kind of angry and upset. I was like, oh, I wonder what happened. She's like, can I ask you a question? I was like, yeah, what's up? You know, a translator, they're talking. She goes, this is the greatest news that I've ever heard in my life. That God of heaven like died for my sin, I'm forgiven. I'm a child of God. This is the greatest news that I've ever heard. She said, what took you so long to come here with this news?

How come no one has, how come no one has come to my house before? How come no one has showed up to my home before? Mom, mom, I just apologize to her. I said, I promise I'll tell people your story. I promise we'll call more to your nation. I'm sorry. Can we all stand together? I wanna end with this story. It's going a little long, but, you know, eight years ago, I moved to Kona, Hawaii. And I remember my son Ezra, who's here with me, he's now 11, he was three, maybe four years old. And, you know, I was tired. You know, when you have little kids, you're tired all the time. And I remember we walked to Target, and we were walking into Target, I mean. And my oldest daughter, Vera, and Ezra just bolt off. They wanted to go to the kid's section, toy section. And, you know, as a father, I was tired. Honestly, I should have walked with them. It was a little bit irresponsible, but I was like, Hawaii's safe, maybe. And they ran off, and I was like, I'm like literally 30 seconds behind. I'm trailing them, it's okay. When I got there, I saw my daughter, and one of the kids was like, when I got there, I saw my daughter

in one of the toy sections, and she was looking at this toy. She's like, daddy, look at this. And I'm like, where's Ezra? And she goes, I don't know. Like, but dad, look at this toy. And I'm like, where's your brother? So I start going from aisle to aisle. You know, you've done that before. You're kind of looking for the person. This aisle, no one. This aisle, no one. This aisle, no one. And I was like, Ezra, Ezra. You know, just calm, collected. I'm sure he's in the Lego section, maybe looking at Ninjago, I don't know, right? So I'm like, Ezra, Ezra. And by the time I walk back and forth, back and forth, a different urgency starts to arise in the heart of the father. Ezra, where are you, son? Ezra! And then, you know, your mind starts to wander. What if something happened? Oh my gosh, I'm a missionary. I know the atrocities that are happening around the world. Oh my gosh, I just heard about those reports of what's happening on the other side of the aisle. Ezra! Where are you, son?

And at this point in time, I'm running across the aisles, running around the store, grabbing, like taking my daughter's hand. You're like, come on, we need to find your brother. Your brother is lost. And honestly, like 10 minutes passed. It was the longest 10 minutes of my life. And finally, we go to this random clothing section and I'm looking around and I'm like, Lord, please. And I hear a little laughter behind the clothing rack. And I'm like, shh. And I'm like, Ezra! And I pull it, and he's like, dad, just smiling, thinking we're playing hide and seek. And I'm like, I was like in my 30s, like giving me my heart attack. And I just embraced him. I held him so close. My son that was now lost has been found. My son that has been lost has been found. God wants to grab our attention around the urgency of his heart, not to perform, not to like earn something from him, but because we feel the same ache, because we look upon the crowds and we have compassion. Imagine the heart of the father in Luke 15. just waiting every single day at the end of the driveway, hoping that that's his son in the distance. And tonight, I wanna call us to be in our generation responsibility takers, not excuse makers,

but responsibility takers for the nations of the earth and for the unreached. To say yes to Lord, I want your broken heart and I want fresh compassion. The first call I wanna give tonight is this, is if like Lord, I want a fresh baptism of your compassion and love for the lost. I want you to come up now. The second call that I wanna give is maybe you've been a seasoned missionary for many years. And of course you had a heart for the lost, you've labored for decades, but God wants to give you a fresh touch of his compassion for the lost and for the unreached. I want you to come up as well. We're gonna get into a missions call, but I felt so strongly God wants to baptize our heart with his heart for the lost and for a compassion that he has as he looks upon the 3.4 billion. Yeah, people are making their way up. Just start to pray with me. Lord, I ask right now for a fresh baptism of the compassionate heart of the Lord. I see even a picture right now of open heart surgery and God switching out our heart with his heart. Once again, a heart of tenderness, a heart that's moved when we look into the eyes of the unreached, a heart that starts to feel what he feels. I ask right now, Father, give us a burden,

a holy ache for the lost. Give us a sense of urgency for the harvest time that we're living in. Lord, it's a harvest, not a harvest issue. Lord, it's a laborers issue. So right now, Holy Spirit, come and fill us with the love of the Father. Fill us with the compassion that Jesus had as he looked upon that field. They were helpless and harassed like sheep without a shepherd. Father, I pray in our generation, burden us for the unreached. God, that the word unreached would be crossed out, Father, because a generation said that they will go. A generation said that they would give. A generation would be up all night praying with your tears streaming down their face. Lord, I ask for a fresh baptism of your heart right now. We were touching it earlier, but Lord, I ask, Holy Spirit, that it would be of your compassion, of your heart now, not something that we just muster up, but an actual supernatural deposit that comes from you now in Jesus' name. Even now, the Holy Spirit is highlighting nations. Saudi Arabia just opening up. The Himalayas right now calling for witness. Central Asia, a lot of heat on Central Asia right now. Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and a new breaking in of missionaries

from every nation to every nation. Lord, I ask right now as you've pre-wired Gen Z and Gen Alpha for the global generation that we are a part of. Father, begin to birth something. I just see fresh innovation, fresh creativity, new things in new ways done for the Great Commission like never before. Ideas that are being birthed in your heart by the creativity of the Holy Spirit come, Spirit of the living God. Burden us, give us the ache that's in your own heart. God, give us a reminder of who we were before you and how we actually came to know you and everything that changed because of it. I ask, Father, for a fresh baptism of your heart right now in Jesus' name. Just continue to respond to the Lord. Just begin to ask him. Hear that verse, you have not because you ask not. Just begin to ask him for his hearts. Begin to ask him, what people group are you thinking about right now? What tears are you shedding right now? Where's your Holy Spirit? Highlighting right now. Keep seeing a picture of North India and Tibet. God is putting Indonesia, especially the city of Surabaya, on someone's heart right now. Papua New Guinea, the most densely Bible-less language groups in the earth. Lord, burden us now to see the gospel of the kingdom bring transformation. Release your heart. Release your heart.

Yeah, I keep hearing Genesis 26. There's a rich and deep well of revival and reformation. A rich and deep well of nation-sending to the unreached. Of wild risk-taking. Of Romans 1520, apostolic ambition to take the gospel where it has not gone. That's in this very house. Even mantles that are on the ground waiting to be picked up. Multi-generational words of the Lord, of Isaiah 54, to fill desolate cities. Lord, I ask right now to see those Genesis 26 wells re-dug in this generation. To be that multi-generational family on mission. To see the strength and the health that belongs to this house to be imparted. I pray right now, the compassion of the Lord, to fill our hearts in Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. Just keep asking the Lord for it. Lord, we give you our joyful, immediate, and complete obedience. Joyful, immediate, and complete obedience. John 14 and 15. If you love me, you will obey me, and I will make your joy complete. Thank you, Lord, for the joyful call. For the dignified call to live a life that's not worthy of this world. Because we found the treasure in the field. Because we found the pearl of great price.
