Beach Baptism | Pastor Tim Payne
You know no one gets to heaven because they were good No one gets to heaven because they were better than somebody else Not one person Not one person We'll ever be led into heaven Because what they did? We'll be led into heaven because what Jesus did. I'm telling you If I was asked Why should we let you into heaven? I would say Because of the blood of Jesus and his righteousness It was the finished work on the cross That was enough for my sins for your sins to be paid for Religion says you got to do more Religion says you got to do this Religion says you got to do that Religion says hopefully you make it Religion says hopefully your good works our way your bad works But I want to tell you something the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross was because all of our good works We're not enough on my mistake. I wasn't good enough Jesus came and he laid down his life freely and he shed his blood So all of my sins The ones people know about the ones no one knows about all of my sins Could be washed away and Jesus did just cover my sins Come on put your hands together church the blood of Jesus Please be on my sins. I'm talking about my passage. I'm talking about my presence They're under the blood and I say thank you I say thank you thank you Jesus. I know what I can always be but thank God I'm not what I used to be because of the blood I love that song I love that truth But we say church good morning
Welcome to the beach Come on Good morning. Welcome to the beach. I want you to turn around right now. I want you to find one person find that person And tell them this tell them you're where you are for a reason Come on tell somebody you are where you are for a reason That's a word right there. God bless you guys. You can be seated Well, we're gonna get right to it But I want to say I'm glad that you guys came today, man. Look at this crowd I'm proud of our team I got out here put this thing together. I don't know if y'all know this or not But it was raining not too long ago Pastor Tyler sent me a video and we have a saying where we say man favors not fair That's what other people think they're like God's that's not fair and it was it was dark on this side And it was dark on this side, and it was clear right over here That's what God can do So I took that video I threw it on Instagram and I said I said when God says game on When God says came on come on no weapon for him to get she will prosper How many know guys for baptisms come on? That's right this message today if you're here on the beach you on vacation I prayed for you if you're sitting on a balcony this morning and you're local I prayed for you if you're walking by I prayed for you if you're here, and you don't know why you're here I prayed for you this morning because this message is gonna Outreach not just right here the beach, but across the street To some condos this message is for Who so ever will today acts is where we're at the book of acts this? book is both Descriptive and prescriptive That means that it describes the works of the early church it was descriptive But I also believe that it is there to encourage us
It's prescriptive is to stretch our faith is to grow our faith. It's to get us to believe For bigger that God can do more than we can even ask or we could think We're gonna read some scriptures together. I'm gonna switch out my sunglasses for my eyeballs. Someone said, "Hey, man, I'm saying, hey, man." (audience laughs) Is this fine print? Acts 16. Paul. Paul is starting his second missionary journey. Paul is a preacher of the gospel. It says this, verse 16 of Acts 16. One day, as we were going down to the place of prayer, I just wanna tell you, you ought to have a place where you pray. You ought to have a place where you're like, you know what, this is my prayer spot. It might be a recliner, it might be a back porch, it might be a tree or a big rock, but you want to have a place to say this is my place, this is where I have an appointment with God, this is where God and I meet. And by the way, they were going down to the place of prayer, but I wanna tell you today, whenever you make prayer priority, it may feel like you're going down, but you ain't going down, baby, you getting ready to go up. 'Cause prayer can do whatever God can do. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. So it says, and the wind's flipping my page here. Okay.
It says this, one day as we were going down to the place of prayer, we met a slave girl who had a spirit that enabled her to tell the future. That's real. As you earned a lot of money for her masters by telling fortunes, she followed Paul and the rest of us shouting, these men are servants of the Most High God and they have come to tell you how to be saved. Hey, do me a favor. Give me Steve, give me that blue bistro up here, would ya? Thank you. So this girl who's demon possessed is walking around and telling everybody that she has an evil spirit, Paul is filled with the Holy Spirit. Thank you, sir. Paul is filled with the Holy Spirit and Paul is listening to this girl who has an evil spirit tell the truth. You know, even the demons know the truth and they tremble. Even the demons know the truth and they tremble. And this girl was following him and this girl was saying on and on and on. Day after day, she was saying these men are servants of the Most High God, truth. And they've come to tell you how to be saved, truth. But after a while, this unclean spirit needed to come out. So notice what Paul did. This went on day after day until Paul, he got so exasperated, you ever been there?
Raise your hand if you ever got there where you're like, all right, I had enough. Paul said, I had enough. Someone said, I had enough. That's some powerful words. And he turned and he said not to the girl 'cause we don't wrestle against flesh and blood. We don't wrestle against flesh and blood. You think your problem is with a person, but your problem isn't with a person. Your problem is with the enemy. And so Paul said to this demon, he spoke directly to this demon within this girl and he said, I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And instantly it left her. And her master's hopes of wealth weren't captured. So they grabbed Paul and Silas. They dragged them before the authorities at the marketplace. And now the whole city in an uproar, they said, because of these Jews. That's what they told the city officials. They're teaching customs. Now they're gonna start lying. They're teaching customs that are illegal for us Romans to practice. Anybody ever lied about you? Anybody ever twisted something? Notice what happened?
A mob quickly formed against Paul and Silas and the city officials ordered them, watch this stripped and beaten. Stripped of their dignity, beaten down against their strength. Against their strength. And this happened with wooden rods. The Bible says verse 23, they were severely beaten and then they were thrown into prison. And the jailer was ordered to make sure that they did not escape. So, what the jailer did? Oh, he made sure they didn't escape. He put them in the inner dungeon and he clamped their feet in stocks. Really tight, clamped, uncomfortable. Here's the verse I want you to see. Around midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God. And then it says this, don't miss this. And the other prisoners were listening. God, thank you for your word today. Thank you that it will not return void. God, thank you that there are people here today that may be wondering why they're here today. But Lord, they're in the right place, at the right time. And they're gonna hear the right word from the word of God that has the power to change their lives. But more than that, it has the power to save their souls. And more than that, it has the power
to change their families and generations. God, thank you for the word that you gave me. Thank you for your word. It is powerful and it's sharper than any two edges sword. And it cuts through the lies of the enemy. And it brings us to the grace and mercy of our great God. And I thank you today. God, I pray that you would amplify my voice far beyond what these speakers can do, far beyond what technology can do. God, I pray that you would amplify my voice today. May it reach people on the beach, may it reach people come into restaurants or leaving restaurants, may it reach people today sitting out on their porch or exercising, jogging down the way. God, I pray that today would be the day that many would come to know you as their savior, as their Lord. And I pray many today would follow you in baptism because that's what's next. We love you today. We give you all the praise, all the honor and the glory. We say thank you for Pensacola Beach. We say thank you for the sun out. We say thank you for the clear skies. We say thank you that no weapon formed against us will prosper. We say thank you that what the enemy meant to use, to harm us, you flip it around for our good.
God, thank you. We give you all the honor and glory for what will be done today. And we pray this in the mighty name of Jesus. And everybody said, amen and amen. I'm ready to preach. I hope you're ready to listen. You guys can be seated. God's got a word for you today. And I want you to tell your neighbor, turn to your neighbor right now, say, hey, pay attention. God's got a word for you today. Hey, God has you where he has you for a reason. That's for somebody right here today. Someone today. God has you right where he has you for a reason. That's your takeaway. You take the message and sushi size it. Get it where it's portable, where it's memorable. God has you where he has you for a reason. I don't know if that's your job. And you're like, I'm done with this job. I'm a little over this job. I'm a little fed up with this job. But can I tell you that God has you where he has you for a reason? Maybe someone's on vacation today. You're watching online. We got people watching around the world by the thousands. They're watching around the world.
And maybe you just came across you on YouTube. And all of a sudden here it is. And you're like, momentum church, what's that? And you're watching live right now. Maybe you were doomed scrolling on Facebook and all of a sudden you saw this gathering and being at the beach caught your attention. And you're watching right now. God has you where he has you for a reason. God doesn't do anything by mistake. God doesn't do anything by accident. I'm telling you today, you're where you're supposed to be. Come on, someone tell your neighbor that right now. Say you're where you're supposed to be. Come on, say it with authority. Tell him. That's right, that's right. Are we having fun yet? Boy, this is a great chapter. I love this now. I love this. I love that Paul and Silas, it was unfair. Life is going to be unfair. Life is not fair. Fairness ended in the Garden of Eden. When Adam and Eve sinned and sin entered into the world, that's where fairness ended right there. I don't know about you, but I'm thankful. I'm thankful that God is not fair. Because if God was fair, I'd be getting what I deserve.
I would not be getting the grace of God. I would not be getting the mercy of God. I'm thankful life isn't fair. I'm thankful for God who says I'm going to do better than fair. I'm going to say surely my goodness and mercy will follow you. Oh, not some. I'm thankful They were treated unfairly don't be surprised when people treat you unfairly And the gospel that was so freely given to us is gonna cost us something Jesus said the world will hate you because world hate me. So don't be surprised if people Hate you Because the message of the gospel is repent and it's uncomfortable There's a weight to it That the world the flesh and the devil don't like Something to tell the person that you're a sinner and you need a Savior They were beaten severely that implies that what they were beaten The soldiers beating them the people beating them. They were taking pleasure in it But Jesus said this blessed are you when men shall what? Persecute you and say all things about you and their lies But he said when they do that for my sake you're blessed when that happens and great is your reward in heaven Come on. How many would want a great reward? I'm thankful for that reward There are people watching around the world where if you preach the gospel of Jesus you go to jail in countries That you could imagine and in countries that we could not imagine There are some places where if you preach the gospel or if you step out with boldness like the Bible says the righteous will be bold as lions That doesn't mean that you need to be offensive. They just says you're gonna you're gonna be bold and There are places where there are women where there are men and they are boldly preaching the gospel and it's costing them even their very lives But Paul said in Romans 1 16 for I'm not ashamed of the gospel of Christ Why because it's the power of God to salvation? That means is God's power the gospel is God's power that brings us to salvation that launches us Away from our sins. This was the gospel that they had been preaching
So it's unfair They're taken they're lied about they're beaten severely. They're stripped. They're thrown in prison and now is past midnight How many you are night house? How many you like come on? You can stay up come on That's when you get them the best work done. That's when you get you're like, yeah Let's go one in the morning. Come on. I was built for this. How many fall asleep by APM how many? It was at the midnight hour and you know what they started doing they weren't crying and they weren't complaining You know what they were doing they were praying and they were singing How much time did you spend praying this week? If if God said okay, I'm gonna look at the things you prayed for this week and I'm gonna answer them What would have been answered? What would have been accomplished? How much singing did you do to the Lord not for people? That's cool. We come out here. I love this I'm thankful for incredible production and Incredible worship team that sounds good, but they sound better good. They sound great I'm thankful for that But did you know that your voice sounds great? He said nobody ever told me that The Bible says you make a joyful noise to the Lord a Joyful noise. Do you know that heaven longs to hear your voice? Do you know that the angels look into your worship and They're amazed at your worship. See we think we would be amazed at their worship But they're amazed at your worship. Why? Because you never seen God and yet you believe Angels long to look into these things and at the midnight hour when they could have been crying and complaining They could have been like this isn't fair. They could have been doing all that. What did they do? They looked up? What do you do when you're in the pit? What do you do when life is unfair? What do you do when your ex is treating you very badly? Your bad mouth you criticize you go after or do you turn your attention upward? David said man, I'm I'm looking up. That's where my help comes from my help comes from the Lord the maker of heaven and earth
Listen when life seems to spend out of control look up Lift up your prayers. I'm telling you, your prayer is powerful. Prayer can do whatever God can do. And the moment it leaves your lips, I'm telling you angels are dispatched. That ought to encourage us to pray. I'm telling you prayer is better than Netflix. I'm telling you prayer is better than whatever you're trying to get its effects. Prayer will turn your life around. And it doesn't matter your chains. It doesn't matter how long you've been bound. I'm telling you when you begin to pray to God and you say, well, I don't know how to pray, Pastor Tim. Just talk, just talk. You don't gotta go to Bible college to talk to God. Just talk. He's just looking for you to be real. Prayer is nothing more than just talking to God. Come on, how many had a mama? How many had a grand mama? How many had, they just talked to God. It didn't matter where they were. They could be in the grocery store. Next thing you know, they were talking to God. You're in the grocery store? We're in the parking lot. They didn't care. They were talking to God.
Come on. You talk to him in the morning. You talk to him at noon. You talk to him when the sun comes up and you talk to him when the sun goes down. You wanna pick a prayer spot? I recommend this beach right here. It's a great beach to have a prayer spot. It's a great beach to watch because the heavens declare the glory of God. And the skies affirm his creativity. Ain't nobody like King Jesus. And they're praying and they're singing. I got a couple things real quick. If you got a phone, take it out. I want you to take notes real fast and we're gonna be in the water. And I wanna encourage you, we're getting your phones out. I wanna encourage you to come down to the water. Don't just bump out. Try to beat the other church to the restaurant. Come on, this is the Lord's Day. Let's not be selfish with the Lord's Day. Like go on, going down to the water. Watch all these people getting baptized. Watch them make a public profession of their faith. Come on. And we're not just gonna watch church. We momentum church.
We gonna celebrate every person up out of the water. That's obedience. Every person up out of the water. That's a changed life. Every person up out of the water represents what Jesus can do. Whew. God's got you. Right where he wants you. He puts you there for a reason. I wanna say this. Don't ever underestimate the power of your prayer and the power of your singing, the power of your worship. Don't ever underestimate it. Look what the verse says. It says this. They started singing the midnight hour and what happened? Whew. Suddenly. See, it seems like nothing is happening in your life until you step into a suddenly moment. See, your prayers don't go unnoticed by God. But you can be praying and praying and feel like nothing's happening. And the devil will say, "Just stop, quit, nothing's happening." It's not working. Look at you, you failure. God doesn't even hear you.
But that's not the voice we know to be the voice of our Father. So we don't listen to that voice. We tune in to the voice. Come on. The voice that when that voice speaks and says, "Let there be light." All of a sudden where there was no light, there is light. And they began to pray and they stepped. Actually, they sat maybe in a suddenly moment 'cause they turned their attention to God. There's some of you right now, God saying, "Just look up." You looking down? Friday night was at the Gulf Breeze football game. The boys played a heck of a game, played their hearts out, went over time. Other team, we scored. Got the fill goal. Other team, they scored. Then they went for two and they got it. And that's how our guys lost. As they were walking off the field, their head was down. And I said, "Get your head up." You got nothing to be ashamed about. I'm telling you right now, this for somebody, there's some of you right now and you're in a season. You're in a situation and the devil's trying to pin it on you like it's your fault and it's not because you deserve it. It's because God trusts you with it.
God trusts you with it to be a light. Just like he did with Job. He said, "Yeah, Job's gonna go through all this, Some of you the devil said, "Well you're right here, you're going through this, or you lost that job, or you, this happened, or that happened, or that spouse walked, whatever it is." And the enemy's like, "It's you, it's you, it's you, and I want to tell you something. Let me tell you something." Just because you're in a storm, number one, God's with you. Number two, God may have ordered that storm, and it may be bigger than you. It may be for other people around you. They were watching, other people were listening, and then God said, "All right, I'm going to let you hurt just long enough to get other people's attention. I'm going to allow your pain to last long enough so that other people can hear you praise through your pain. I'm going to allow you to suffer a little bit," Peter told us in first Peter, "that after you've suffered for a little while, come on, breakthrough's coming. I declare over you today some of you are in a situation, some of you have been in a season, and the enemy has tried to do everything he could do to take you out. And God said, "Yeah, what the enemy meant for evil, I'm going to bring you into a suddenly moment. I'm going to turn it around, I'm going to load you into your destiny, and people are going to see and people are going to know how great our God is, come on, you're stepping into a suddenly moment. It seems like it's never going to happen until it happens. And what happened, suddenly there was a massive earthquake, that's what God can do. None of us here can make an earthquake happen. None of us can stop an earthquake from happening, but when God says to move, this world knows how to move, suddenly there was a massive earthquake and the prison was shaken to its foundations. Guys, this one, a little earthquake.
This was a dear God moment. You ever had one of those moments, you were flying in an airplane, then you hit that pocket and you drop about a hundred feet, you say, "Dear God, you had one of those moments where someone pulls out in front of you and you would have had a wreck, but God," shook, literally shook this prison to its foundations and all the doors immediately, what happened, the doors that were locked, they flew open, that's what God can do. And the Bible says, "And the chains of every prisoner fell off," that's what God can do. The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open and he assumed, I would say, don't assume, it'll get you in trouble. We assume we know what they're thinking, we assume we know what they're gonna say, sometimes we assume and it really messes us up. He assumed the prisoners had escaped so he drew his sword to kill himself, but Paul shouted to him, "Stop. Don't kill yourself. We are all here." That's what God can do. And I would say to anyone watching online and I would say to anybody on the beach, anyone on the streets, anyone right here in your seats, I would say to you, if the enemy's trying to get you to end your life, that's because the thief comes to steal, to kill and to destroy. But Jesus came that we might have life and have life abundantly and I'm telling you, when the sun sets you free, you are free indeed. Hallelujah, when the sun sets you free, you're free indeed. I'm just curious today, at the beach, has anybody been set free? Has God said anybody free? Has God turned anyone's life around? Has God spared anybody's life? It's important you walk with Jesus because others' futures depend on it. What if Paul was cursing instead of praying? What if Paul was crying instead of singing? People were watching, people were listening.
They needed a man of God in that moment, that big dog, the jailer. He needed a man of God in that moment to spare his life. Why was he going to take his life? Because he knew his life was over when all these prisoners escaped. He knew they would kill him. So he's just going to go ahead and do it. Let me tell you, don't assume the future. Don't assume that that was full of lies. He's a father of all lies. He's been a father from a beginning and he'll be a father of lies to the ending. He knows nothing but lies. And when the enemy tells you your life is over, that's when you ought to smile, that's when you ought to raise your hand, that's when you ought to praise God and thank you So if the devil says it's over, you know, it's just getting ready to start You know the best is yet to come we believe Jeremiah 29 11 Where God says I know the plans that I have for you declares the Lord Play us to prosper you Players to give you the future you hoped for so don't listen to the devil. Don't listen to his lies And I'm so glad aren't you glad? I'm so glad that Paul spoke up Don't ever underestimate number one the power of your prayer and worship number two your praise Your praise not only has the power To set you free, but it also has the power to set other people free I'm saying when you are walking through it Whatever you're going through when you begin to turn your attention away from yourself and Upward to God God knows how to open the prison doors God knows how to make those shackles fall off God knows how To play the music so you can dance in the middle of the enemy thinking he's getting a dub the devil Thinking he's winning the devil thinking he got you the devil thinking he owns you the Lord knows at Just the right time when to start the music and when the chains fall off and the shackles
Fall off you not only sit up you get up. You don't just get up you dance Because you've been set free. I'm telling you your praise your worship. It has the power to not just set you free but it has the power to set other people free and Maybe God is allowing you to walk through this uncertainty. Maybe the good Lord is allowing you to walk through this pain Maybe you came to the beach today, and you came to cry Your life is falling apart You just wanted some peace Just a piece of peace just some tranquility just a place of calm and quiet Well, your tears could flow Cuz you feel like you're dying on the inside and then God sent you a church on the very same day at the beach So that you can hear some good news that Jesus saves that Jesus still saves that Jesus is the way That Jesus is the truth that Jesus is the life that he's still King of Kings. He's still Lord of Lords There ain't a Center. He don't know. There's not a Center He doesn't love and there's not a Center. He won't save you've not run too far from the grace of God Your guilt though it may be great is nothing compared to the blood of Jesus Don't ever underestimate The power Of your own prayer your own singing and your praise your praise not the pastor's praise, but your praise Your praise from your mouth Can make chains fall off you and those around you those beside you I Want to declare to you today number three there is no darkness greater than the light of the gospel There is no darkness greater than the light of the gospel. I want to say it one more time So help can hear me there is no darkness greater than the light of the gospel Notice what happened all this guys it happened in the dark It all happened in the dark Paul says stop don't kill yourself. We're all here The jailer called for the lights The jailer called for the lights. You didn't see that one before did you all that happened in the darkness?
The praise was happening in the darkness the singing was happening in the darkness the prayers going up It was happening in the darkness. It was just happening on Sunday morning at nine It was just happening on Sunday morning at 11. It was happening in the darkness Maybe you feel like you're in a season of darkness. Where else does God want the light? Where else does God need the light but in the darkness? There is no darkness Crater than the light of the gospel The devil's already sold a bunch of Christians on this one lie will never come to Christ, and you know what Christians do? We believe it as if it's the truth, when it's actually a lie. I'm here, I drove all the way, from midpoint to tell you today, there is no darkness greater than the light of the gospel. But you don't understand Tim, you're right I don't. But you don't know Pastor Tim, you're right I don't. They are an addict, they are a liar, they are a blasphemer, they are so proud, they're a drunk, you don't know Pastor Tim, I don't, but I want to tell you something. I know the God who does know, I know the God who loves him in spite of the stench, in spite of the stains, I know Father God who will run to them, and say I don't even know, need to hear about all your sins, I want to tell you about all the grace I got for you, I want to tell you about all the mercy that you could never deserve, but I got you. No darkness, great but Pastor Tim, they're in the occult, Pastor Tim, they're wicked, Pastor Tim, let me tell you something, there is no darkness greater than the light of the gospel of Jesus Christ, it is the power of God, if I was a Christian, I'd be standing right now, I'd be clapping because that truth will keep people from hell, and that truth will populate heaven, it's time we believe it, and they play in church anymore y'all, we running out of time, people are dying, people are crying, people are taking, come on stay standing up staff, stay standing up at them, come on put them hands together, we're talking about the light of the gospel, and in a time where kids are taking their lives, in a time where people are losing hope, this ain't a courtesy clap, this ain't a courtesy clap, this is real, this is true, and God wants you to walk into some prison cells,
God is calling you to walk into some dark areas, God is calling you to kick some doors down, and say I've not been sharing this with you, forgive me, but there is a God, and there is a hope, and there is a salvation, and he's mighty to say, mighty to say, if the church isn't being the light, what are we doing? If the church is too impotent to share, what are we doing? If the church is too preoccupied, to care, then what are we doing? God is saying oh you want your chains off, you want your situation different, you want your shackles coming off, I'm gonna do it, but I'm not just gonna do it for you, I'm gonna do it for a purpose, because I do everything on purpose, everything for a purpose, and there is a world that needs us, not just to sit up, but there is a world that needs us to get up, and say Jesus in the morning, Jesus in the noon time, Jesus when the sun goes down, there's college students, they meet Jesus, they're looking in all the wrong places, there's high schoolers and middle schoolers and kids, and they're all over this place, and they need to know Jesus still saves, there's co-workers, say well Pastor Tim you're fired up, oh I prayed for it this morning, I said let the fire fall God, I'm just a nobody, trying to tell everybody that there's somebody that changed me, someone that saved me, someone that forgave me, someone that healed me, someone that called me, and anything good in me is not me, is Jesus, you're not out of Christ, and he really does, he lives in me, he lives in me, and he He wants to live in you, and He wants to live through you. It's time to get born again. It's time to become a child of God. Don't play long enough so that one day You hear the words depart from me. I never knew you the most scariest words in all the Bible That will be said one day depart from me. I never knew you It wasn't that you didn't go to church. It wasn't that you weren't good enough It wasn't even that you weren't baptized. He said I never had a relationship with you and your whole life I pursued you and your whole life. You ignored me Can you imagine someone that played church their whole life thinking that they were okay? When they were okay
Thinking they were a Christian when they were not a Christian Just playing games with God No more playing games. I got one more stay standing if you would in the presence of God In the Bible baptism is both urgent and important. Let me tell you what happened That jailer went to take his life Man of God spoke up Because he was filled up with the spirit of God See when we're filled with the spirit we will speak up Acts 1 8 and you will be my witnesses after The Holy Spirit has come upon you not before it's after The Holy Spirit has come upon you and you will be my witnesses And you will start where you are and there will be a rippling effect if if there's no rippling effect Don't worry about that. You just start right where you're at just start right where you're at God would take care of the waves God would take care of the ripples. You just be a light You just be salt right where you are and his life was spared You know what happened you read this story. They led him to Jesus And what I love about the text act 16 is Paul said hey God will not only save you God will save your whole family look here. Don't don't Not a good time to like think about something else watch the power God's word right here Paul planted the seed That your whole family's coming to Jesus God is looking for you to be playing some seeds that not do you only need Jesus But your whole family needs Jesus your teenagers need Jesus your middle schooler needs Jesus your kids need Jesus He planted the seed and that jailer washed him up Clean him up That jailer took care of their physical needs why because he had the biggest need taken care of it was his spiritual need And he said the least I can do I'm the one that watch as they beat you. I'm the one that clamped The cost so tight the least I can do is I can humble myself and I can help the healing begin And while he was doing that the Bible says his whole family came to Jesus and here's where I end
It was probably two three four in the morning Because how long does it take to to clean up two men that were severely beaten? This close to death how long does it take to cook a meal because they cooked a meal and they fed them the jailer said You come to my house See God Can turn what someone thinks is an enemy into a friend The gospel can turn a god hater into a god chaser, that's what the gospel can do And they cooked for him and they fed them but Paul and Silas led their family to Christ and watch this They were baptized and here's my last point Baptism in Scripture is both important and it's urgent See we we tend to think here like hey, you know like baptism And I love the beach is why we come here. This is a special place to get baptized Today, it's the best place to get baptized But if you're watching this tomorrow, and you don't live near the beach someone fill a bathtub Someone fill a jacuzzi someone walk down to a pond somebody find some water because you know what in the scriptures Baptism was both important, but it was urgent baby. They didn't wait They said I got to do it right now And that's not because water washes sins away That's your first step. That's your first step today. You're watching in another country today. That's your first step. Let's just take that first step. And God does the rest. God shows you the next step and your next step and your next step. Now I'm really proud, man. I say, "Whoo, Pastor." Yeah, man. You know what? People are really dying. There's a real place called hell. There's a real place called heaven. There's real darkness in this world. And there's real light in this world. And Jesus says, "Come on. I'm looking for some people. If you can sweat it out at a Jack Johnson concert in August in Alabama." He's saying, "Come on. I'm looking for some Christians who will sweat it out on the university campuses.
I'm looking for some people that'll sweat it out in the emergency room, in the board room, in the sales room. Come on." Would you bow your heads? Would you close your eyes? How many say, "Pastor Tim, I'm a child of the Most High God?" And it's only because of the blood of Jesus. Would you raise your hand? I'm going to hold it up high. You can put it down. How many people say, "Pastor Tim? Pastor Tim? I'm not a Christian yet, but today." See, the Bible says, "Today is the day of salvation." You say, "I'm not a Christian yet, but today. Today. Today." I want to follow Jesus. I'm going to become a Christian. If that's you, I want you to hold your hand up on the beach under tents. Come on. Maybe you fishing. You got a fishing pole in your hand. You're on the pier, but you know God is here. You're going to land the big one, but God's getting ready to land the big one. I want you to hold your hand up on the count of three and say, "That's me, Pastor." And today, I'm going to give my life to Jesus. I don't want you to hesitate. Don't procrastinate. Don't wait. Don't play it safe. Don't wait to see if anyone else does it. You just go first. Come on. On the count of three. One, two, three. Hold it up. Hold it up. God bless you. I see your hand. God bless you. I see your hand. God bless you. I see your hand. Come on. God bless you. I see your hand in your hand. In your hand. In your hand. Come on. Who else? Church. Come on. I see you, sir. Yes, sir. Come on. In the sand. Come on on the pier. Come on on the balcony. Then the Bible says, "Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. For it's with our mouth we confess." With our heart we believe. Look here. Look here. Everybody look up real fast. Watch this. This guy, he went from beating to handcuffing to putting him in a jail and watching him and making sure he didn't move so he didn't lose his life. And God said, "Hey, I didn't just come for the 99, but I came for the one. And I'm going to show up in prison after the midnight hour.
I'm going to show up because there's a jailer that needs Jesus. There's someone who is against me, but if he just knew me, he could taste the seed that the Lord is good. This jailer, he didn't have time to get discipled. He didn't go to Bible class 101. He didn't have time to sign up for a community group. But you know what? He called on the name of the Lord. And whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved. Hallelujah. That's what he did. That's what you do today with heads bowed. Come on. We're going to call on the name of the Lord. The sun is shining. The sky's blue. The clouds are white. God's love was demonstrated on Calvary. He said, I love you. Put your name there. I love you. And he died for you to cleanse you, to forgive you, to wash you, to change you, to give you a hope, to give you a future. No wonder they call him. No wonder we call him the Savior. Ain't nobody like him. Never has been, never will be. We're going to pray to this great God. You're not praying through a preacher. You're not praying to a priest. You're praying to God Almighty, the creator of heaven and earth. So lift your voices up when you say Jesus. I confess that I'm a sinner. I always have been. But today, I'm calling on you to do for me. What I can never do for myself. Save me, forgive me, wash me with your blood. Make me new, teach me how to live. I declare Jesus is Lord. And I give you my life, and I receive your life. Now teach me how to live. In Jesus' name, amen and amen. Let it be so, amen and amen, let it be so. On earth as it is in heaven, let it be so. On earth as it is in heaven, let it be so.
If you prayed that prayer, wherever you are, you may be in the water in the Gulf of America, baby. Come on, God saves people wherever you are. You may be on the pier. At the front, the middle of the back, you may be a lifeguard. I prayed for you this morning, because you, sir, you, man, you need Jesus too. And today is your day of salvation. I don't know where you are or who you are, but God does. He loves you. And if you just invited Jesus into your life, you're an inmate. You're in Blackwater. You're watching on the Pando app. Let me tell you something. God saves you the moment you're called on His name. For whosoever will call on the name of the Lord. They will be saved. Let the church say hallelujah. If that was you, I want you to hold your hand up high. We're gonna clap and we're gonna celebrate. We're gonna do it bigger than Michigan, who thought they lost. But there was a second left on the clock. And they came back and won the game. We're gonna clap bigger than that. 'Cause you know what? You've been rescued from death. And Jesus has brought you to life.
Let the church say amen. Let the church celebrate. Let the church be glad about it. On three, hold it up, one, two, three. Come on, put the hand in the air. God bless you and you, come on, God bless you. I see who else, hold it up. On the sand, on the pier, on the balcony. You're exercising, you're walking. You're running, God bless you and you and you. You're watching, God bless you.
