Assessing the Kingdom by: Dr. Pete Norris

For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. (Matthew 6:32-34 NKJV)

Added means “to give more increase.” If you must work it, it wasn’t added. God says things are an enemy to the Kingdom of God.

Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled. (Matthew 5:6 NKJV)

The kingdom of God is the governing influence of the King and kingdom over a territory affecting it with His will and purpose.

Seek the governing influence of God. His righteousness is the right positioning and alignment with the governing authority of a kingdom. Righteousness is a legal word from the court of law. Kingdom is the government, and righteousness is relationship with government and brings all the things.

But to the Son He says: “Your throne, O God, is forever and ever; A scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your kingdom. (Hebrews 1:8 NKJV)

Scepter means authority. Scepter is what a King holds in His right hand to represent authority. When the king points the scepter at you, He has given you assess. Everything the King points His scepter and says is the law.

Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. (Isaiah 41:10 NKJV)

The strong right arm of the Lord is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things! (Psalms 118:16 NLT)

In fact, though by this time you ought to be teachers, you need someone to teach you the elementary truths of God’s word all over again. You need milk, not solid food! Anyone who lives on milk, being still an infant, is not acquainted with the teaching about righteousness. But solid food is for the mature, who by constant use have trained themselves to distinguish good from evil.(Hebrews 5:12-14 NIV)

He withdraws not His eyes from the righteous (the upright in right standing with God); but He sets them forever with kings upon the throne, and they are exalted. (Job 36:7 AMPC)

For You, O Lord, will bless the righteous; With favor You will surround him as with a shield. (Psalms 5:12 NKJV)

Stop being a victim of the system and believe the Kingdom of God.

Pharaoh picked out Joseph.

The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, And delivers them out of all their troubles.(Psalms 34:17 NKJV)

The righteous person faces many troubles, but the Lord comes to the rescue each time. For the Lord protects the bones of the righteous; not one of them is broken! (Psalms 34:19-20 NLT)

Trouble pursues the sinner, but the righteous are rewarded with good things. A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children, but a sinner’s wealth is stored up for the righteous. (Proverbs 13:21-22 NIV)

Then people will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.” (Psalms 58:11 NIV)

The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God. They will still bear fruit in old age, they will stay fresh and green, (Psalms 92:12-14 NIV)

So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic. I will make justice the measuring line and righteousness the plumb line; hail will sweep away your refuge, the lie, and water will overflow your hiding place. (Isaiah 28:16-17 NIV)

Then Peter said, “See, we have left all and followed You.” So He said to them, “Assuredly, I say to you, there is no one who has left house or parents or brothers or wife or children, for the sake of the kingdom of God, who shall not receive many times more in this present time, and in the age to come eternal life.” (Luke 18:28-30 NKJV)

Let me show you the power of things. Mankind is motivated, driven and preoccupied with the pursuit of things. Everything we do in life is for things. Most of our prayers are focused on things. Most faith is focused on things.
