Agree In the Heart- Part 4 | Pastor Carline Lorenzo
Agree in the Heart — Part Four: Leave Your Gift at the Altar
Pastor Carline teaches that God values a heart that is right with others more than outward acts of worship. In Matthew 5:23–24, Jesus instructs that if you remember your brother has something against you while bringing your gift to the altar, leave your gift, go and be reconciled, and then return to worship.
This reveals that God is not merely looking for songs, prayers, or offerings—He is looking for a heart that agrees with His nature. Unresolved offense, bitterness, pride, or broken relationships can hinder genuine worship because they contradict the love and reconciliation God desires.
God's willingness to interrupt our worship demonstrates the importance He places on humility, forgiveness, and making things right. Worship is not only expressed with our lips but also through a heart that reflects His character.
you you you you you you you you you you you you good can we get closer I know you messaged me but I've been moving so I haven't had a chance to even open it can we get closer like a family sure come closer like a family come on get closer hey how are you Megan are we live we are live welcome to our SOR family how are you guys doing so happy that you guys are here welcome welcome welcome we are going to get right into part four teaching four of agree in the heart series if you guys remember part one two three part one two and three we were talking about how we can agree with our lips but we're not agreeing in our hearts when we are either around a brother and a sister praying with a brother and a sister or even a husband and a wife together and even in the congregation how that can really hinder what the Lord really wants to do in our lives individually with the people around us with our spouses and also within the four walls of the church and in the body of Christ and teaching three we went over how the offense started in the first place so if you haven't watched teaching one two and three I highly recommend that you do they can find it on the SOR live correct Megan on YouTube YouTube has its own I mean SOR has its own YouTube channel you can find all of these teachings teaching one two and three on agree in the heart series okay so we're gonna get right into part
four but before we do let us pray father in the name of Jesus Lord we just thank you that you're in this room right now Holy Spirit we ask that you teach us every single thing that you want to teach us tonight we humble ourselves Lord we decrease so you may increase in this room in Jesus name and we all say together amen put amen in the chat and a fire emoji in the chat if you're ready for a teaching four of agreeing the heart SOR the topic today is leave your gift at the altar okay we're gonna get into that and what that means God will interrupt your worship to send you back to a person you have not made it right you have not made right with so let's say if you haven't made it right with someone and you're about to get into worship God will stop your worship so that you would go and make that right you'll find this in Matthew chapter 5 verse 23 to 24 it says do we have a mic yeah we do okay good therefore if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you leave your gift there before the altar and go your way first be reconciled to your brother and then come offer your gift I want somebody to tell me briefly just one person what that means to them go ahead Ava stand up so that they can see you stand up yeah what do you think that means um so when I hear it the first thing that comes to mind is when the word of God says that the Lord won't forgive you if you don't forgive others so it's like before you can even come to him with the pure heart you have to purify your heart so you have to like let everything out let the bitterness go so that you can see him rightly because like what I've learned letting go of bitterness is like you know when you go to the eye doctor and they put a thing over your eye it's like one trauma you have another thing over your eye then another time you have something else over your eye so you can't see him rightly so you can't even worship him rightly. You can't worship somebody who you don't truly understand, who don't truly know. So when you're able to let everything go and let those thoughts go, let the fiery darts go, let that mindset go, let that perspective go, then you can truly see him for who he is. Yeah, exactly. And it might not even be, thank you for sharing, and it might not even be just bitterness, but just an offense, right?
Somebody does something to you yesterday, and you know, in the morning, this morning, you're trying to pray to the Lord, and the Lord stops you, and he's like, there's a block between you and I, because you're holding a fence towards your brother or your sister, who you can see. How can you love me when you cannot see me? But you can see your brother and your sister, and you're holding a fence in your heart towards them, which means that the love is not really there in your heart at that moment. Not to say that you don't love them, but the Bible does say also, Matthew does say, when Jesus was given the Sermon on the Mount, he said, if you hate a brother or a sister, if you're angry at your brother or sister in your heart, you've murdered them. Like, if you hate them, you've murdered them. You've committed murder, right? If you hate someone in your heart, you've committed murder. And so, if you get offended by them, and you hate them, you're basically murdering them in the spirit. That's how the Lord looks at it. And so, you're trying to come to him, to speak to him, but yet you're murdering someone in your heart. So, you can't see eye to eye with the Lord, who gives life, when your heart is trying to take away a life, right? So, watch the order, because it undoes everything religion taught you. You are already at the altar, your hands are already lifted, your gift is already in motion, and Jesus says, stop, put it down, walk out, go find the person, and then come back. He would rather pause your worship, than receive it over an unreconciled heart. And notice, it is not even that you have something against them, it is that they have something against you. Love makes the first move, even when you are not the one carrying the offense. God cares so much about the horizontal, that he will interrupt the vertical to fix it, right? Your brother has something against you, the scripture says. Did you guys catch that? Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar, and there, remember that your brother has something against you. So, it's funny, because we're thinking, well, we got something against them, and God is saying, well, they have something against you, because you're holding all that offense anyways, right? So, God is showing us, we have to humble ourselves, and not really start thinking about, well, I'm offended
by them. Well, it's about me. Well, they did something wrong to me, right? Because we're serving a God, who didn't make it about himself. Jesus did not make it about himself, right? I always go back to what happened at the cross, when he said, Father, forgive them, they don't know what they do. He could have easily made it about himself, and said, look, after I've done all these things for these people, I've, you know, fed them, I've given them water to drink, I've healed their bodies, I casted demons out of them, I reconciled so many families together, I've, you know, resurrected the dead, and look how they're treating me. He could have made it about himself, but he said, Father, forgive them. He didn't make it about himself, he made it about the Lord, and he's teaching us how to be like him. So, if we're going to a God that we're supposed to resemble in the Spirit, but yet in the Spirit, we're not making it right, and our heart is not reconciled with people, then we can't connect with him. So, that's why he's saying, I'd rather you stop your worship, go make it right with that brother and sister, and then come back and worship me, so that worship can mean something, it could be tangible, it won't be just a worship that's physical, but it will be spiritual and heartfelt, right? You will worship him in spirit and in truth, right? You're not just gonna be at the altar raising your hands trying to look a certain way, thinking that people are looking at you and you look holy, but you're actually going to, in your heart, really worship the Lord, right? So, a lot of times people say, well, you know, I came to a worship service and I didn't feel the anointing of God. Well, I mean, God is in the room, there's something going on with you. What's happening? Why aren't you feeling the anointing of God? Why aren't you feeling the presence of God? Why aren't you feeling that he's here? Because he is here, right? How do I know that? Because when we are congregating together and worshiping together or speaking or lifting the name of Jesus together, he is in the midst, so he's there. Wherever there's two people that are agreeing in one thing it gets established in heaven So if we're agreeing in worship together if we're agreeing Doing the sermon together if we're agreeing doing a teaching together
Then that means that it's established in heaven and heaven is God's residential place. This is where he lives So then if everything is established in heaven, then he's gonna want to come here and and see what's being established. What's going on? They're lifting my name over there. What's going on over there? So he'll be there and so if you're not feeling the presence of God And so that's when you have to start looking at yourself and say what is going on with me? What's happening? Is there anything in my heart that's not allowing me to realize that God is in the room? The Greek word is dia lasso D I a L L a s s o it means to reconcile to change thoroughly to exchange Hostility for friendship. It is mutual a full change on both sides Not a one-sided apology numbled to clear your conscience God wants the thing actually mended not managed Right how many times we just say, you know, I forgive you just because we're trying to make it seem like it's okay But yet we still feel something in our hearts, but then we're trying to come together to pray together, right? The series is agree in the heart. So it's all about the heart. Everything starts with the heart even when you're born again Scripture says believe in your Where? Where? Okay, I couldn't hear you guys. You guys got to speak loud. I'm like, wait, wait a minute. Do you know where you're believing? Scripture says believe in your in your hearts believe in your heart and confess out of your mouth So a lot of people confess out of their mouth that Jesus is Lord, but they missed the first part They never believed in their heart. They believed in their mind Right, and when you believe something in your mind and your heart's not penetrated Then you're not really going to bear good fruit because everything flows from the heart Right. God is more interested in the inner man the inner Being of someone he's not interested in the outer right God turns your heart of stone into a heart of Flesh out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. So everything is from the Heart and so it's agreeing in the heart. So if you're just saying saying it out of your lips Mumbling an apology, but yet your heart is still feeling some type of way are you really coming into agreement in your heart with the person you're you're supposed to be in fellowship in covenant with or You're just saying it just because it sounds good and it feels good to just say it right and you're just acting.
I want to ask you guys this question and I want one person from SOR to answer raise your hands And I want one person here to answer. Is there a gift, a praise, a Service that God has been asking you to set down until you go reconcile with someone first So a gift why because we use our gift to worship him Right a praise because when we praise we're worshiping him a service to someone or a service in the church Why because we're doing it unto the glory of God. That's another way of Worshiping him. So basically the question is asking Is there any of those one of those things which are equal to Worshiping the Lord that God has been asking you to set down until you reconcile with someone first I'm gonna ask SOR to raise their hand first and then I'll ask one of you guys to answer Is there anyone on there? No one raised their hand Anyone here want to take that question? Go ahead Yeah, I'd say with my dad honestly, like sometimes bitterness or just there's can you bring your mic closer so we can hear you Yeah with my dad like for sure We we talked but it's very surface level and really like bearing burdens for him Other than just with words or doing what he says, but going out of my way for him Okay, and what what what gift or praise or like? So has it has there ever been a time where you're about to worship God or you're in the secret place and God tells you Stop what you're doing. I want you to go make it right with your father That's what the question is asking No, not not really that like fully no. Okay. Do you do you say maybe you haven't been tentative to that? Yeah, yeah, I don't like bottling it down pushing it aside. But yeah, I wouldn't say if I can worship I'd directly hear that but it's something You're not gonna like just Some people can't hear audibly, but what I mean like in your spirit, you know, man I need to go make her right like I did I Said something or done something that I should have not done and you just don't feel right in the secret place, right? For me, I don't know if anybody has experiences. Thank you. You want to answer that? Go ahead. Look look right here
All Right, so there was this one time I was at work and my manager was like nitpicking every single little thing I was doing It was getting bothersome that eventually like I let it out I'm like man, it'd be better if I'm not even breathing You probably wouldn't it pick me anymore and I felt in my spirit. It wasn't right and I drove off to go handle out some punch-out when I came back. No one was there I had to take up the trailer go home and as I hit the secret place and I'm there for like 10 minutes I'm like Lord, why can't I feel you? You know, why Wow, and I'm like So I get up I walk a little bit outside I'm knocking on the door and I'm like, hey, I'm sorry for what I said. It wasn't right. Yeah, immediately. There was peace established I felt the presence of God during in between us and immediately he gave me a word that I needed Wow Praise God see how the Lord works because we come into unity in our hearts Yeah, I saw two hands up there. We come into unity in our hearts and the Lord can move the Lord loves unity He loves when we can agree together He loves to partner with us even with him when we agree with what he wants and his will and his word We're partnering with the Lord, right? Let's see Jonathan is that what does that what that says Joanna? I thought I said Jonathan Hi, hi Joanna god bless you Thank you. God bless you um yeah, there's been a time where like I'll be in the secret place and I'll be like worshiping or I'll be just like Praying but then I don't hear the Lord like he'll be very silent and I'll know why it's because I held offense my sister Me and my sister got in a fight or she just said something that offended me. I didn't speak up about it I just stayed quiet and I know the Lord wanted me to go talk to her first before I got in the secret place and Started worshiping Yeah, that's so good. Thank you for sharing that happen that has happened to me I don't know how many times right like, you know, I said something wrong to you know my husband or even my mom or I feel like I just you know, I Wasn't as patient with my children and I'm in the secret place and the moment I start talking to God. He's like stop
Go and I'm like And then I get out of my secret place and make it right or if they're not there. I text them like hey And then I can just go back and it's like there's just so much peace right between me and the Lord You cannot hold a grudge in one hand and lift the other hand in prayer week you could put the hands down I'm gonna ask a second question So you cannot hold a grudge in one hand and lift the other hand in prayer. Can you imagine that you're holding one thing? That's against the very person you're lifting the other hand up to worship, right? Even yourself you're contradicting yourself, right? It says in Mark chapter 11 verse 25 and what whenever you stand praying if you have anything against anyone Forgive him that your father in heaven may also forgive you your trust you your trespasses Jesus ties the very moment of standing in prayer to the act of forgiving The very moment of standing in prayer is the act of forgiving So if every time you're standing in prayer, but yet your heart is still not forgiving. Are you in alignment? You're contradicting yourself, right? You're standing up praying asking God for healing Miracles for you know a breakthrough what have you but yet you're still not forgiving someone in your heart It's going to be very very hard for you to receive anything because you're already in contradiction Right. He does not say forgive sometime this week. We hear that a lot It's I'm in a process of forgiving if Jesus was in the process of forgiving us We would be doomed Right. The Bible says a righteous man falls. Does that mean that you will fall? I Think I'm only talking to Jason no one's responding When I ask again, the Bible says a righteous man falls. Does that mean that we will fall? Okay, because we're righteous right right, okay, and it says we get back up and we try again right so we're gonna fall the bible says if you think you're without sin then you're you're deceived right so everyone should not be thinking they're without sin this is why we need the lord right but if we're if we're if we're saying it takes a moment if we if we're thinking we can't forget i can't forgive right now this hurts too much it's gonna take me some time let's say if we did fall right and god says it's gonna take some time for me to forgive you we'll be like wait hold on yeah don't come to the secret place and don't come talk to me
do not stand to worship me at the altar it's gonna take some time for me to forgive you for me to see you rightly he doesn't do that he says amen i forgive you you're already righteous in my sight because of what my son did on the cross you're already forgiven you're already a king and a priest you're already seated in heavenly places you're already chosen you're seen you're forgiven i'm deciding to throw literally the scripture that says the lord throws every sin in the sea of forgetfulness he decides to do that he makes a decision to do that so we too can make a decision to forgive is it not right right i i this is the way i think like man if jesus was like me sometimes i'll be in trouble and it convicts me because i want to be like jesus i want to be like christ i want to embody who he is that is the only reason why i came to the faith in the first place that it wasn't no other reason going to heaven is just the icing on the cake but i want to be like the lord i want to live on this earth and have dominion and have peace and have power and have and be be be loving and enjoy this life life in christ shouldn't be just so horrible we decide we we make a decision for it to be like that because we read the scriptures and then we decide not to follow the scriptures we make a decision that scripture doesn't pertain to me it pertains to everyone all of it because he's for everyone and his word became flesh and dwelt among us right that's how i speak to myself i hold myself accountable with the word i hold myself accountable with who jesus is with his nature because in what's the what else is the reason for us to come to christ to be blessed when the blessing fades and it leaves then what do you have to get married you get married and now because you didn't be really become like him you have issues in the marriage then what do you have to have a baby you that's what you came to christ for so the lord can bless your wound and he will do it because he loves you because he cares for you because he created you to be fruitful and multiply but then the child grows up leaves for college and then what do you have right what did i come to christ for was it to be blessed by god or to become like god unforgiveness is not a private matter between you and your and your feelings it reaches all the way up and affects the very forgiveness you are reaching for so you're thinking on for i can't forgive this person because it did something to me you're making it a private issue between you and the person when god is saying when you can't forgive it goes all the way up into heaven and it comes to me because i forgave you when i stood up to worship the father that him dying on the cross was his worship to the father so that's why every time you stand up and you're worshiping god you have to be in forgiveness as well because that's
the same posture christ had right are we good the hand cannot grip an offense and receive a gift at the same time so you have an offense in your hands and you're trying to receive something from god at the same time if my hands are like this and i'm trying to catch something you're giving me freely because god gives everything freely am i going to be able to get it no it's just gonna fall there's nothing to grasp it there's nothing to hold on to it because something's already in my hands i need to release this that's in my hands because it's not doing me any good in the first place and then when i lift up my hands i've got lifting up my hands like this when the blessings start really to flow down because i'm praying and worshiping the lord then guess what then i'm gonna receive it i'm gonna receive it because in the physical we're Going like this, but in the spirit, we look like this. We're going like this in the physical, hallelujah. We worship you, Lord, right? But in your heart, it's like this. In the spirit, you're like this. Heaven is like, well, I'm trying to give you the very thing you want, but your hands are closed. Your hands are gripped tight. You can't receive it. And then you get mad at God because you can't receive it, and God's like, I've been trying to give it to you. You're the one not opening your hands to receive what I want to give you, right? You have to open the hand that is clenched around the grudge before it can receive what heaven is holding out. The Greek word is, I can't say it, so I'm gonna spell it for you, A-P-H-I-E-M-I. It means to send away, to release, to let go, to cancel a debt. So imagine this, Jesus canceled your debt, but then you want to hold debt against another person.
The God, the maker of the heavens and the earth canceled your debt, but you're taking the position of a person who's holding debt. So how can you receive the debt that was canceled on you when you're holding debt? You can't, right? That's how the enemy accuses a lot. He looks to see who's holding debt, who's holding offense, because you're not gonna be able to receive what the word says, and then he goes into the courtrooms of heaven and he accuses. This person is holding debt against this person, so they can't receive the same forgiveness that you gave them on the cross, the same debt that you canceled out for them, they can't receive that. They can't receive that because they're not in the same image as you. They don't look like you in the spirit. This is why I always say, what did you come to Christ for to look like who? Because if you look like Jesus, you will receive every single thing Jesus has. But, and it's not to say that you're not going to fall. Like I said, a righteous man falls, right? But when you are like David, when you're crying out to be like God, right? A man after God's own heart, it means he was a man after God's own nature. That's what that means.
He wanted to, and it's crazy how the word for that heart is nature, nature. God takes your heart of stone and turns it into a heart of flesh because he wants to put his nature within you. The world makes you stone cold in your heart. So your nature is not like the one who is alive. You feel dead. So many people have come to Christ. Why did you come to Christ? I just felt dead in the world. I just felt empty. Yeah, your heart was stone cold. It did not have the one who is alive, the God who is alive seated on his throne, right? Forgiveness is not feeling better about them. It is releasing the debt you feel they owe you, hurling it away so your hands are free to receive from God. That's what forgiveness is. I'm going to ask this question, but because of the sake of time, I'm not going to let anyone answer that question, but the next one I will ask. This is the question. Whose debt are you still gripping that the Holy Spirit is asking you to release the next time you stand to pray? Right? We have to really start thinking about the other person and not ourselves.
Man, even if they did offend you, they did something that was wrong, that wasn't right, does it make it right for you to be angry? Jesus isn't angry. He could have been. Look how we treat him. Some people treat him really bad. They don't care, but he's still not angry. He's still a humble king that says, I just want you. I just love you. I died for you. I will never ignore you. You can turn away from me, but I'll never turn away from you. But we quickly do it. We quickly do it. So think about it, okay? Two people at odds will find their prayers running into a wall they built themselves. So when you're at odds with each other and then you're trying to pray with each other, it's like you're running into a wall that you built yourself because you both are at odds with each other. This happens a lot in marriages, right? First Peter chapter three, verse seven says, Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to them. to the wife as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life,
that your prayers may not be hindered. This is one of the most sobering verses in the New Testament. Peter says plainly that the way two people in covenant treat each other can hinder their prayers. The relational altar and the prayer altar are connected. So if you're living together in the same home and you're offended with each other, it's going to hinder your prayers in the home. Because this scripture really, man, when the Lord gave me, the Lord gave me even deeper revelation in this scripture. I mean, I'm not gonna go as deep, but what he showed me was a husband and a wife, when they're in a home, is supposed to embody what the Lord wanted for Adam and Eve in that garden. What was going on in that garden with Adam and Eve? Wasn't God amongst among them? Wasn't he dwelling with them in the garden, right? What happened when Eve deceived Adam and they sinned against God? They were divided, first of all. Adam and Eve were divided, right? The vision came in, they were divided, they sinned against God, they got kicked out of the garden, and now they could not receive anything from God any longer. So when we act like that in our home, heaven is not in our home.
We can't receive from the Lord. But when we are in agreement with each other, when there's no nutting our heads together, there's no competition, there's no disagreement, there's no, things happen. Especially when you're in a marriage, if you're married in this room, you know what I'm saying, you know what I'm talking about. One person might have a bad day, the other one, but you do not hold offense towards that person because the moment you both feel like you're against each other, your prayers are hindered and God cannot answer prayers. A couple or any two believers in a real relationship can kneel together, agree out loud, and have the whole thing blocked by an unresolved, unhonored offense between them. Many are praying into a ceiling they cannot see and the blockage is not the devil and not God, it is the unaddressed division between them. So you're anointing the house, you're declaring for the devil to leave, the enemy is attacking my marriage. No, you're attacking your marriage, not the enemy. Your offense is causing all of this to happen, right? Many are praying, I read that already, the honor you withhold horizontally becomes the wall your prayers hit vertically. The Greek word is agopto. I always try to say the words,
because I don't know, I feel like, man, I could say that, but sometimes when I can't say it, I'm like, dang it, let me just spell it, agopto. Who else does that? Yeah, I'm like, I wanna know how to say this. Okay, agopto, E-G-K-O-P-T-O. It means to cut into, to hinder, to block the way. It was used for breaking up a road so an army could not advance. You imagine, you have an army that's trying to advance, and then you block the army's way to advance. So think about it, you have the army of God in your house trying to come and just start breaking things in the spirit for you and your family, kill demons in a spirit that you can't see, and you're thinking you're doing it together because you're praying together, but really and truly you're hitting a wall because you never talked about the offense that happened two weeks ago. And sometimes one of the spouses could be totally over it, and the other one, typically it's the woman, are like this in the spirit. Typically it's the woman, they don't let it go. I was that woman, it was I. I used to be very bitter towards my husband, and I would just be like, you okay? I'm good, you wanna pray? Sure. Nothing's gonna happen, I'm saying this lovingly.
Let it go, seriously. The moment you let it go, I mean, God shows up. Just let it go, it's not that serious. Your feelings got hurt, I understand. Let it go, Jesus' feelings got hurt too. You are in Christ to be like the Lord. So what would Jesus do? He would let it go. And if it's hard, you say, God, it's hard, but I really wanna be like you. Please help me be like you, because that's what I did. I don't know what it's like to be like you, but I want to be like you. I have your spirit, but it's not enough. I wanna have your nature too. I hate the way that I am. I don't want to make it about myself anymore. Amen? Offense between two people tears up the very road their prayers were meant to travel down. Here's a question for you. Is there an unresolved offense between you and someone close that may be the very thing blocking the road your prayers travel on? This is a very, what's the word I'm looking for? Vulnerable question. SOR, if you want to answer that, one person can raise their hands too.
Go ahead. So recently, I went to make right with a person and we exchanged apologies and all that. And later, I would say it's been a fiery dark coming at me that I was reminded something and I'm like, should I have told them? Because at the same time, it's like, love doesn't remind others of wrongdoing. So like I'm- Love doesn't bear any records of wrongdoing. Yeah, so I'm like conflicted because I'm like, is the reason why I struggle with this thought that like, you know, I know that they had cheated on me or that they were unfaithful to me and I didn't tell them that or be like, hey, you know, I know of this. I feel like it's just, it's held on to me. It's like clung on to me, but I want to let it go. But then I'm like, I don't want to remind them of the wrongdoing either. So we already said we're sorry for everything, but they also didn't bring it to my awareness and just confess it either. So I'm like, what do I do? Yeah, so I've been in that position. You're still making it about you. I want to get an answer. That's what you're saying. Why did you cheat on me? Because if it's not about you and it's about the Lord
and you make it about the Lord, then you don't need them to confess because you already forgave. When you already forgive, you don't need them to say it again, you know? When you go to the Lord and you say, Lord, I confess of this sin. He doesn't say, say it again. What did you do two years ago? You know what I'm saying? Are you really sorry? I always think about what God would do. And that's what helps me because I really want to be like Him. And that's how we're going to get that breakthrough is be like, Lord, that shouldn't matter. You wouldn't do it to me, so I'm not going to do it to someone else because I embody you. I have your spirit. I am like you, right? And so now what I would recommend is for you to take it to the Lord and say, Lord, why did I need that person to acknowledge what they did? Because bitterness is an unresolved anger. It's an anger that doesn't have a resolution, doesn't have an answer. You want to know why it happened. The reason why it happened is because of the devil, period.
You want to know why? It's because of the devil. It's not even the person's fault. They don't even know what they're doing, right? So we're going to continue because we have about 10 minutes left. Every offense you refuse to resolve, does that help you? Was that the question you had for me or it's different? It's different. That was it? That was the same question? Okay, amen. I'll still respond to you. Oh, it's something else. Okay, great, okay. Every offense you refuse to resolve becomes ground the enemy gets to occupy. Ephesians chapter four, verse 26 to 27 says, be angry and do not sin. You know how many times that plays in my head? Be angry and do not sin. Be angry and do not sin. Do not let the sun go down on your wrath nor give place to the devil. Man, if you know, like there's been times where I know I'm not supposed to go to sleep until I talk to my husband about this because I felt some type of way about something that he said, but I'm like so in the flesh, right?
And the enemy causes you to be in the flesh and I just go to sleep. I don't say anything. I get attacked in my dreams. And if I don't know what the scripture says and I'm going to start freaking out. Oh my God, that's not it. But it's like, it's because I did it to myself. Like I knew I should have spoken about it, right? I knew I should have said something. Paul does not say never feel anger. He says, do not let it spend the night. Imagine anger being a spirit spending the night with you on your bed. Child. Y'all had to, y'all got, I had to get all that emotion out. I do not know ma'am, green eggs, and ham, mm-mm. The very next, I'm sorry, I'm going to start saying it again. Paul does not say never feel anger. He says do not let it spend the night because what you carry overnight becomes a place. The very next line says you give place to the devil, connected to everything we have seen. Every offense you refuse to resolve becomes real estate the enemy gets to occupy in your heart. And from that ground, the runs, he runs all his other work. The comparison, the suspicion, and the division. This is how a single unforgiving offense becomes a foothold for the whole strategy. Reconciliation is not weakness, it is an eviction.
You are taking back the ground before the sun goes down on it. The Greek word here is topos, a place, a spot, a foothold, occupied ground. It is where we get topography, unresolved offense, gives the enemy literal territory inside of you. Forgiveness is the eviction notice. So a lot of times when someone's dealing with a sickness, I always ask them, do you have anyone you need to forgive? Is there any offense that you're holding? Because the enemy has a place in your body and he needs to be evicted so that you can receive the healing of the Holy Spirit. If you need deliverance, most of the time it's a spirit, right? Because you can get delivered from strongholds, but sometimes, most of the time, you need deliverance from a spirit, a spirit, an entity that is taking real estate in your body, right? And you need to evict that spirit. You need to evict the devil from your body. And how do you do that? You make it right. You make it right with the person. And I want to ask you guys this question and close with this. Is there an offense you have let the sun go down on so many times that it has become occupied ground in your heart? I'm going to say this and maybe it might be for someone that's watching or somebody in this room. If you are constantly getting spiritually, sexually attacked by the enemy in your dreams and you were molested, I recommend you go and really, really let go of any offense,
unforgiveness, or bitterness towards whoever molested you. Because that is giving the enemy occupied ground in your heart to affect you in that area. So anybody wants to answer this question? Is there an offense you have let the sun go down on so many times, many times, that it has become occupied ground in your heart? From SOR, you can raise your hands and in this room. I know it's vulnerable questions, but it's okay. You can be vulnerable and answer the question. Go ahead. We have one back there. SOR, you guys are here. Put a fire emoji in the chat if you're here. If you're learning something, go ahead and let us know. If this is really ministering to you, say, this is ministering to me, so we can know. Thank you, Jesus. Go ahead. Oh, can you stand up so we can see you? Yeah. The question was, is there any offense? Offense you have let the sun go down on so many times that it has become occupied ground in your heart? Yeah. It kind of piggybacks off, piggyback off of the pre-service from Sunday, I believe, or the last discipleship. It was last Tuesday, I remember you were talking about your mom. Yeah, that same thing. Just the offense from my mother. Okay. And how is you letting the sun go down on that offense towards your mom occupying ground in your heart? What is it doing? It's honestly like just hindering me from really like,
because I love my mom. Like, I genuinely love my mom. There's times when I'm in my room crying about like the thought of not having her in my life. And I ask God all the time, like, when is there going to be a moment where like we can have like a good relationship or like we can be in a God-fearing house where we're all just serving the Lord? But I know like that offense. and the way that I feel about the hurt in my life is stopping that reality from actually happening. Because I could try to open up a conversation and talk to my mom, but then the moment she says something the wrong way, I'm like, I don't want to talk no more. And I shouldn't be like that, I should be more loving. So I feel like that. So why are you like that? Have you ever asked yourself why you're like that? Because I'm still hurt. Have you ever asked yourself why you're like that? Because the Lord didn't make you like that. No, I never really did sit with myself and ask. That's the first question that will help you. Asking yourself, because you're not... This is what really helped me a lot. I'm going to teach it again. I teach it almost every pre-service, every Tuesday, I think. You're not the body and you're not the flesh.
You are the soul, right? You're made of spirit, soul, and body. Your spirit is made perfect and whole when you are saved and you are born again by the Holy Spirit, okay? The Bible says, when you're born again, behold, you are new. All things have gone away and all things are new, right? But let's say if a very large person in the body who's probably 200 pounds gets saved, just because the scripture says, behold, all things have passed away and all things are new, is that person going to be skinny right after they give their life to Jesus? No. No, right? Because they actively have to work out so that the body can lose weight. But what's between the body and the spirit? The soul, right? So in order for the body to start working out so that the body could be physically fit, what has to happen in the mind, will, and emotion of the person? Because that's what the soul is. The mind, will, and emotion. What has to happen? Renewal, like being in the word and like, you know. Not just being in the word,
because you can be in the word and still not follow the word. You ever heard about being a hearer of the word, a doer of the word, and not just a hearer of the word? So the person is hearing that their body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, but they're still not going to work out. What has to happen in their soul? Huh? Help me out, brothers and sisters. What'd you say? I said, help me out, brothers and sisters. Anybody can respond. Go ahead. They have to transform, right? But how do they transform? How do you decide to transform? By just being willing. Like, surrendering. Being willing. So are you saying you're not willing to forgive your mom? Maybe a little bit. Right? Yeah. So ask yourself, why am I not willing? Why haven't I made this decision? Yeah. That's true. Why am I making this decision to not forgive her? Why am I making this decision to be angry?
Why am I making this? It's like a decision. It's like making a decision. Just make the decision. Just like you made a decision to put that blue shirt on today and you did it. You thought about it in your soul, and then your body corresponded and put it on. Right? Yeah, something like that. Okay. So everything that we do, we need to make a decision in our soul. Yeah, that's true. Is our body our soul? No. So, okay. She did something wrong. Not right. But why are you deciding not to be like Christ in that area? To be honest, it's like, cause I feel like if I forgive, she won't change. So you're making it conditional. So if Jesus says, I don't feel like forgiving you because you won't change. I would be hurt. Right. Well, how do you think she feels? What do you think you're doing in the spirit? See how deep it gets?
You see how deep it gets, but yet you're still asking the Lord to do something. And he's like, wait a minute, hold on. But you're making a decision for you not to forgive her. And you want me to make a decision to bless you. I'm still going to do it anyways, but come on. That's how good he is. Amen. That was good. Convicting. You got to free willingly make a decision. That is the reason why whoever ends up, I know we're about to finish. I've heard of stories, right? Of people who've gone to heaven. I mean, I've gone heaven, but also hell. And there's a book called, what's it called? The Revelation of Hell, right? I think she spent like 30 days in hell. She said that people in hell knew exactly why they were in hell. They knew what decision that they made. That is the, that's how I got healed, that's, the Lord showed me this real quick before we finish, we're gonna pray out. I was in Texas, I used to be very, very, very, very feared, fearful of death when I got diagnosed with breast cancer. I would wake up and hear the enemy tell me, you're gonna die, you're gonna die, you're gonna die, you're gonna die, you're not gonna see your children grow up, all these things, to the point where I called my husband one day and said, marry someone who loves my children. Because I really thought I was going to die, because I was so fearful of death.
And I remember we went to Texas for a revival, and I went into the secret place to pray, and the Lord told me, open your Bible. And I opened it, and I landed on a scripture, I think it's in the book of Mark, where it says, oh death, where is your sting? And I'm like, okay, he's like, read it again, and I read it again, and he started ministering to me, and he said, Carlene, who are you? Are you the body or the soul? I said, I'm the soul, I'm not my body. He said, where is the tumor? And I said, the tumor is in my body. He goes, is the tumor in your soul? And I said, no, it's in my body. He goes, so then are you really sick? And I said, no, I'm not really sick. He said, and if you do die in the body, where are you gonna go? I said, I'm going back to you, Lord. And he goes, so why are you afraid? I said, oh death, where is your sting for real, for real? Because if I die in the body, guess where the soul's going? I'm going straight to my Lord. So why am I over here walking around so afraid? After that, it was a wrap. People would be like, oh, you're sick. No, I'm not. Well, what do you mean? There's a tumor. It's in my body. It just needs to catch up. Because if not, then my body is me. I'm not my body.
Like do you understand what I'm saying? I'm trying to help you understand that it's a war. When the Bible says to wrestle against flesh, I mean, for you to not gratify the desires of the flesh and that the spirit wrestle with the flesh, it's God showing you, you have to wrestle. You have to wrestle with what the flesh wants to do, and the body is going to turn back to dust. The flesh is not the body. The flesh is its own entity. The flesh was introduced in the garden. The body is what you see. It turns back to dust. Does it not say that in the book of Genesis, that to dust you came from, to dust you will return? What does that mean? You mean that, Lord, I'm going to be dust? No, but in the Bible, scripture also says that you go to heaven. So which one is it? So I must not be the body because it's going to turn to dust. I'm not turning to dust. The body got to listen to somebody. It needs a master, but guess what? I'm going to be the master of you because I got the Holy Spirit. You're not going to listen to the flesh. I'm going to war against the flesh, and I'm going to tell you what to do because I got the Holy Spirit in my spirit, man. Does that make sense? So when the flesh wants to whisper little nothings to your body, who's your ear, the ear is the body. You're not the body.
Your ear is the body. And the flesh who's working with the enemy wants to tell you, oh, that person, remember what they did to you? You don't even know why they did it. But in your soul, you're agreeing, you're making a decision to agree with what you just heard in your body what's going to happen. But then in the spirit realm, the Lord's like, what are you doing? You're perfect. You're whole. I'm right here. I'm perfect and whole in the spirit. I got everything for you right here. Can you stop listening to the body and start telling the body what to do instead of the body telling you what to do, right? And sometimes we're declaring be healed in Jesus name. We're declaring our bodies to be healed, but then we can't even tell the body to stop talking when we're fasting. You're telling the body to be healed. The body is like, you can't even fast for three days because I tell you you're hungry and you eat. I'm not listening to you. That's why I fasted 20 days with water. I said, Oh no, I'm going to starve you. You're going to listen to me, right? It was hard. It hurt. God had to give me like, it was all Jesus. But on day five, I had to cry out to the Lord, Lord, where are you? I'm about to eat, please help me. And he came and he helped me.
And I was able to fast for 20 days, but that's because now I have authority. Like if anything's hurting in my body, I command you to stop. You're gonna stop, you're gonna listen. You're gonna listen to me and the Holy Spirit, we're one. If you're not gonna listen to me, you're gonna listen to the Holy Spirit, but I'm submitting to the Holy Spirit, we're one. You're gonna listen to the Holy Spirit who's in me because we're one. Does that make sense? So you tell the enemy, I will not be angry at my mother anymore. I will not make a decision to be like you. I will not make a decision to be bitter because you're bitter because God rejected you. I talk to the devil like that. You're bitter because God rejected you. You're trying to make me like you. And I will be like Jesus, not like you. I want nothing to do with you. You start doing that, the enemy starts fearing. Like, dang, okay, like. But then he'll try to come back. But every time you stay like that, then he's gonna start trying to use other people to get you to, but that's just the way that the enemy is. But amen? Hallelujah, so let us pray.
Let's stand up. Thank you, Jesus. How you guys doing on SOR? You guys are doing good? Receiving, learning, hallelujah. Thank you, Jesus. Put a fire emoji in the chat. Thank you, Jesus. All right, so Father, in the name of Jesus, Lord, we thank you for your word tonight, your word that never returns void, that does exactly what you sent it to do. And tonight, Jesus, you sent your word to convict us, to correct us, to edify us, to equip us, and to love us, and to forgive us. We thank you, Jesus, that every single time we meet together here on Tuesdays at four o'clock, Lord, we are learning more and more how to be like you, how to forgive, how to renounce, how to let go, and how to love, so that we can agree together in the heart. And when we agree together in the heart, everything that we agree together here on earth will be established in heaven. Thank you, Jesus, that every single thing that you have for us, Lord God, we will receive, because we've already received your spirit, and we walk with your spirit. We love you, we honor you, in Jesus' name. And everybody says together, amen, hallelujah.
God bless you, SOR family. We will see each other again next week, Tuesday, from four to five. We are starting Agree in the Heart series, part five. Love you guys.
