Today on En Contacto, where to go in times of need. Everyone has needs in life, and some of them can be material or physical, or they can be emotional or spiritual needs. When you have a need, where do you look for the answer? Many people look for answers to their needs in various paths, and many times those paths leave them as they were at the beginning, they don't meet their needs. Because there are many deceitful attitudes, and many deceitful paths to try to satisfy our needs. That is especially true in spiritual and emotional needs, but also in physical or material needs. Where do you go when you have a need in your life? Is there a place, or many places? For example, if you have an emotional need, where do you go? When you have a spiritual need, where do you go? In any need, you go to a place to try to fill it or satisfy it in some way. In this message, I would like to give you a place to go to, and I can guarantee you, without a doubt, that you will satisfy all your needs. When I tell you what it is, you will say, Oh, it can't be that simple, things don't work that way. Listen carefully. I want you to ask the Lord to open your heart and show you a need in your life that you may have tried to fill, but for some reason you have not succeeded.

I will show you how to make it work. Let's go to Hebrews chapter 4. We will read just a few verses in this chapter. While you find it, let's see what verse 12 says, just as a preface to the passage we will read. Verse 12 says, Because the word of God, the Bible, is alive and effective, and more sharp than any two-edged sword, and penetrates from the soul and the spirit the joints and the tuetans, and discerns the thoughts and the intentions of the heart. This is a way of saying that when we open the word of God, and when we begin to read it, what we do is discover what God thinks about our thoughts, what we feel, our true desires, even our secrets, our wounds, and our sorrows. That is to say, the word of God helps us to understand and see how God sees us. In light of that, let's read what it says. From verse 13, And there is no created thing that is not manifest in his presence. Before all things are naked and open to the eyes of the one to whom we have to give account. Therefore, having a great High Priest who transgressed the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us retain our profession or confession, because we do not have a High Priest who cannot be compassionate of our weaknesses, but one who was tempted in everything

according to our likeness, but without sin. So let us approach faithfully to the throne of grace to attain mercy and to find grace for the opportune help. So, the question is, where does he go to satisfy his needs? Listen well, or the devil will deceive you. There is a place to go without ever worrying about an incorrect answer. He will always give you the correct answer. He is willing to do it and satisfy his needs. He is a person, and he is Jesus Christ. In the rest of this message, I will show you why this is true. No matter what doubts you have about Jesus Christ, be sincere and listen carefully to what the Word of God says, and why we say that Christ is the person to whom to turn in our needs, no matter what they may be. He will say, if they are financial needs, He knows how to guide us in them. And if it is about health, He is the great doctor. Suppose it is an emotional problem, I am depressed, and He is the answer to all our needs. The only thing I ask of Him is that He be sincere and receptive to consider what the Bible says. So let's read verse 13, because it clearly says that Christ knows all our needs. We want to know them. For example, we want to know what those are. The Lord does this. Sometimes we don't know what they are. Let's note what it says in this particular passage. It says it in various ways, but here it says, That is, God sees every person without exception.

He knows everything about us. There is no created thing that is not manifest in His presence. Before, all things were naked, and He heard them open, that is, discovered, to the eyes of Him to whom we have to give account, that is, to whom we will have to give account. He sees everything without exception. He knows every need, every day, every hour of the day, and even every moment. He knows everything. So, why does He say that we should go to Christ? Let me ask you, who else knows Him so perfectly? He is the only person in existence who knows everything about us, inside and outside, what we think and do, and why our actions, motives, and desires, the secret sins of our life, the sins of the discovered, He is the only one who knows everything. Jesus Christ is to whom we must go in any need, no matter what it is. Now, the second thing I want you to note here is what He mentions. Jesus is our High Priest before the throne of God. Now listen carefully, because someone will say, well, I'm not interested in a High Priest. I should be. I'll tell you why. In the Old Testament, for example, God established the whole system for the nation of Israel to grow and send the Messiah. He began everything from the Garden of Eden. Throughout the Bible, there are sacrifices, and in this system that God designed, in His people there was a High Priest who was the one who entered the Most Holy Place. No one else could enter without losing their life, except the High Priest, once a year, to carry the blood of the Lamb to recognize and expiate the sins of His people. That High Priest symbolized many things, but most of all, it was a foretaste of the Great High Priest who would come, because He says here, therefore, having a Great High Priest who transgressed the heavens, Jesus being the Son of God, let us retain our profession.

That is, Jesus Christ, who died on the cross, was buried, resurrected, ascended to heaven, and says in chapter 10, that now He is seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. And what is all that? And what does it have to do with Him fulfilling my need? The throne of God is where Christ sits, next to the Father. And that throne is a very important place. In the Scriptures, for example, there are many references to the throne. There is the throne of grace in this chapter, the throne of God in Matthew, the throne of God and the Lamb, the throne of glory, the white throne, the eternal throne. It is a word that suggests royalty, power, authority, dominion, and kingdom. Jesus is the Lord who governs and reigns, seated at the right hand of the Father, interceding for us. And what does that have to do with God fulfilling my needs? Simply this. The Bible says, as for all who have sinned and are removed from the glory of God, listen carefully, we all sinned and were out of the glory of God. The Bible says that our sins have separated us from God. Therefore, the truth of our relationship with Him, before the experience of salvation, is that we were sinners. We have all sinned against God. We live as we please, we do what we want, and our sins have separated us from God. So we must ask ourselves. And pay close attention, because I will repeat this four or five times. Ask yourself this question. We all know that we have sinned against God. On what basis? We can go to the Holy God.

Who does not have sin in his presence, God is light, there is no darkness in him, says Scripture. With what basis can we go to God the Father and pray and wait for him to answer our prayer? Recognize how arrogant it is that we, sinners, separated from the Most Holy God for our sins, wait for him to hear us, based on the fact that we have not been so bad, but very good? Perhaps you don't like what I say, but it is the truth. It is an act of pure pride and deception and ignorance and misunderstanding. Because in the Old Testament the High Priest presented the blood of a sacrifice to expiate the sins of the nation of Israel, Christ came as the High Priest, Jesus Christ came as the final sacrifice of the Father for the sins of all humanity. When Christ went to the cross, he was like the Lamb, the Lamb of God. He came to the world, not only to teach, preach and heal, although he did all that, but he mainly came to die and shed his blood on the cross, and when he shed his blood on the Calvary, he expiated, he paid the debt of the sins of humanity in a single act, in a determined time, so that we would have access to the Holy God. When and if we accept Christ as our Savior, which means that we accept him as an expiatory sacrifice for our sins, and we receive him as our Savior, the Son of God, now, we have access. Because our sins have been expiated, the blood of Christ makes it possible for us to come closer to the Holy God. The third thing I want us to note here is that the Bible says that Jesus Christ is compassionate of all our needs. Look at this passage. I want to read it a couple of times. Listen. Verse 15. Because we do not have a high priest who cannot be compassionate of our weaknesses. That is, Christ is the one who is compassionate. He can feel and experience the same as we do, but one who was tempted in everything, according to our likeness, but without sin.

Now, let's think about this, because this is a wonderful statement. Look at what it says in chapter 2, verse 17. And what it says, it says it very clearly. Therefore, he must be like his brothers. In other words, the Incarnation is that the Son of God came into the world in the form of a baby born of a Virgin Mary, had to be like us, grew up as a child, a teenager, then a young man. And it says here, therefore he must be like his brothers in everything. For a reason, so that, to come to be merciful and faithful high priest, in what God refers to spy on the sins of the people, because that was it, it says, because as soon as he suffered being tempted, because as soon as he suffered being tempted, he is powerful to help those who are tempted. Now let's look at this for a moment. When we think that Christ was tempted, it comes to mind when he was tempted by the devil in the desert. Was it the only time he was tempted? He was tempted, look, since he was young, he was tempted from his youth, he was tempted in his adult years, he was tempted, look, even on the cross, tested in all ways. Maybe I say, wait a minute, you want to tell me that Jesus Christ was tempted in all the ways that we are tempted, but what does it say? It says that he was tempted in all the ways that we are tempted. Pay attention, for this reason it says that he can be compassionate to us, to be compassionate is entering his feelings, his wounds, his pain, his losses, what happens in his life. Whatever we think, for example, when he started his ministry, people turned him down. So he knows what rejection is. And he was tempted by the devil to become proud and to leave the temple. He was tempted in every possible way. He was sad, like any other person, without a doubt. Without a doubt, pain and rejection, the fact that his whole nation has rejected him. So he knows about rejection.

He knows about the pain in the tomb of Lazarus. Pain for the people who were around him. I think of the loneliness he must have felt the night of his crucifixion, before his crucifixion. All his disciples abandoned him. In the moments when he needed them, and needed help and security, he asked them to go watch and pray for a while, and when he went, he found them asleep. He knows what loneliness is, and rejection. He knows what pain is on the cross. Whatever his pain, suffering or wound, test, Christ tells him, I have been there. In other words, he has felt something like what we feel. No matter what situation we face in life. So let's think of the same title, the great High Priest. He is the one who covered our sins on the cross. The Son of God, incarnate, who came to the world to die for our sins. Our relationship with him. He is our Savior, Our Lord. He knows our needs and wants to fulfill those needs. When I think about all of this, I think about how he expresses his love for us. And, let's note in this passage, that he says twice, therefore, look, he just said that he knows our needs, and based on this he says, therefore, having a great High Priest, after talking about being compassionate, he says, let us approach faithfully to the throne of grace to attain mercy. So, in any need, we have access. The one who knows exactly how we feel,

knows how to heal us, and how to help us, and how to fulfill each need, whatever it may be. But I ask him, where does he go first? Does he call his friends? Does he tell someone how he feels? The Lord says, I want you to tell me. He says, because I know everything, and I am the great High Priest and I can solve that, because I am, and I am compassionate, I want you to approach me faithfully. Why does he tell us that? Because we have that right. We come under the blood of Christ, he has expiated our sin, he has opened the door. He says, let us approach faithfully to the throne. Listen to what he says. Faithfully to the throne of grace, to attain mercy in times of need. Now, mercy means, it refers to the fact that God does not give us what we deserve. Did you hear that? In mercy, God does not give us what we deserve. In grace, God gives us what we do not deserve. We do not deserve his grace. However, he gives it to us. In mercy, what does God do? He does not give us what we deserve. If he did, he would abandon us. He says, let us approach faithfully. It does not mean, with irreverence, to talk to the one up there, whoever he may be.

That is irreverent. We have forgotten that God is holy. When we approach God, we must do so in a spirit of submission, humility, and submission to God. I will tell you how to evaluate if you are reverencing or not God. He says, when you come to me, do so faithfully, because I want you to come. Look, this is not the throne of judgment. This is not the throne of condemnation. This is not the throne of rejection. This is not the throne of rewards or awards. This is the throne of grace, mercy, love, forgiveness, cleanliness, a new beginning, everything we need, whatever it may be. So, I want us to think about something for a moment. You will say, I am humble, I am not proud. Let me ask you. If I told you, I want to suggest that from this very night, before going to bed, that you bring to the Father whatever need you may have, I suggest that you do so the following. Kneel at his bedside, and read this passage to God. I know that he knows it all, but read it and say, Lord, you said, but he already knows it, you said, Lord Jesus, that you shed your blood for me, you said that you understand exactly what I feel and need, you said that I have the right to come to you, and I will find mercy and grace in time of need.

Are you willing to kneel, read this passage to the Lord, and tell him your needs, the reason why you would simply kneel before God? Who is he? He is the just, the saint who does not care. I assure you that this will transform your life of prayer, because by doing so, you will be prostrating before the Holy God, and you will be recognizing your holiness, your justice, your perfection, recognizing your omniscience, that he knows everything about you, your omnipotence, that he has all the power to change any circumstance in your life, recognizing your grace and mercy, so that he may invite you to be forgiven or helped, whatever is necessary. What prevents you from doing it? You may say, you don't have to kneel to pray. You don't have to. Why wouldn't you? I know there are those who have physical impediments, but I want to ask you seriously, what prevents you from opening the word of God and reading this passage, which is a passage that gives us encouragement, what prevents you from kneeling and recognizing that you need God, and that you have no right to go to him but through the blood of Christ? What prevents you from doing it? One thing, mainly, pride. I don't have to do that. God understands me. I've been fine without doing it. I don't need to do it. Pride is one of the worst sins, because it's like saying, I don't need it. Or maybe there's a sin in your life that you don't want to leave, you don't want to give it to God. That's why you won't prostrate to read this passage that says that God knows all our sins. He will transform his life of prayer. By doing it, he will take seriously the fact of going to God. He will take seriously his relationship with Him. He will take seriously the recognition of the holiness of God. When we think about the desires of God's heart, what is worship? We should not worship anyone other than the person of God. Pride prevents us from kneeling. Pride makes us rationalize and say, I don't think that's necessary. No, maybe it isn't. But I ask you, when was the last time you did something that was a sign of your recognition of the holiness of God, and our indignity, and his great love for saving us? I challenge you to do it. Because it's about what God does for us, and how he fulfills our needs. He knows them all. He paid the price. He is willing to do it. We have access to God. He says, come to me in humility, with confidence. I wait for you. I want to help you. I want to fulfill your needs. But we have to go to Him, for the blood of Christ.

And I tell you, if you have not accepted Christ as your Savior, if you are not yet saved, what I want you to understand is that it doesn't matter what anyone says to you. or assures him, or how many books he reads, how many sermons he listens to, how many times he goes to confess, there is a truth that is eternal and absolutely undeniable. Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, the Son of God incarnate, came to the world with the main purpose of dying on the cross and spilling His blood in Calvary, so that all who accept Him as Savior and receive Him as the Great High Priest, sitting at the right hand of the Father, interceding, making it possible for us to go to Him to satisfy our needs. That is an eternal sample of love, and to reject it is to reject our only hope, and to accept it is to begin life from a different perspective. And that is my prayer for you. Father, how much we thank you. Your great love tells us, come to my throne with confidence, and you will find grace and mercy. Father, it could not be easier. We just want to thank you.
