Addiction is defined as a chronic, relapsing disorder characterized by compulsive drug seeking with continued despite the harmful consequences. We return to something unhealthy and destructive to find relief because it's quick and easy. Because we're in pain. But family, addiction is not the problem, it is a symptom of the problem.
