A Vision Worth Living For

Come on, what a beautiful prayer to pray today. Holy Spirit, come. Holy Spirit, we welcome your presence. Come on, lift your hands toward heaven. Just say it with me. We welcome you, Holy Spirit. Say it, we welcome you, Holy Spirit. Move in our hearts, move in our lives, move in this place today. Have your perfect rule and reign. We worship you today. In Jesus' name we pray, amen, amen, amen, amen. Welcome to church, everybody. I think you picked a great day, a great day to be in the house here in Yorktown and in Newport News and Virginia Beach and of course, online around the world. We welcome you and the men at Indian Creek. And can I tell you, one of the things I love most, I love most about our church is that God has planted us strategically in a geographical location that allows us to have influence with the bravest men and women on the planet. That would be our incredible military. I love that. Many of you are here today, many are serving and joining us online because what happens is you get stationed here for a season and we get to be your church family and then they move you somewhere else and we're still your church family. And I love that, I love it. And I just wanted to take a moment on this weekend and I just wanted to say to all of those of you who serve our country, for those of you who support those who serve our country, whether you're in the room today, whether you're joining us online today, watching on demand at some point later this week, I just want you to know that your church family stands with you. We pray for your peace.

We pray for your protection and safety. And we are grateful for your service to our country. Come on church. Can you show some love? We believe it and we mean it today. Amen. Amen. Amen. Well, it is a great, great day to be in the house and we're kicking off a brand new series of messages today. Find somebody around you, give them a quick high five, make it quick y'all, and then take a seat and we're going to jump in today. Today we kick off a brand new collection of messages that we are simply calling We Are WEC, WEC, W-E-C, which stands for Water's Edge Church. If you haven't heard us refer to ourselves that way, we are WEC. It really is a series honoring the 23rd birthday of our church, and we'll be back together next weekend. You don't want to miss next Sunday as we celebrate 23 incredible, incredible years. And so we just thought, hey, why don't we, why don't we take a couple of weeks to retell the story of our church? Take a few weeks to talk about where we've been as a church, but maybe more importantly than that, to talk about where we're going, because who are we? Well, we are WEC. That's who we are. We are WEC. And what will we do? We're going to change the world. That's what we're going to do. In fact, why don't we do this? If you'll play along with me and maybe participate a little bit.

Who are we? We are WEC. And what are we going to do? We're going to change the world. One more time. Who are we? We are WEC. And what are we going to do? We're going to change the world. And that really has been the dream for 23 years. Now let me caveat that to say that 23 years ago, when we started our church, our world was small. All right. Let me just say that. Our world was small 23 years ago. We literally had no idea, 23 years ago, that we could use technology to reach across campuses. We had no idea that was possible to carry the message into different cities. We had no idea that you could use technology to literally reach around the world. That was unheard of 23 years ago. Our world was small. 23 years ago, we were communicating using something called I-M, that is A-O-L, Instant Messenger. Come on, somebody, 23 years ago. 23, 23 years ago, I had dial-up internet at my house, 23 years ago, anybody remember that modem sound? 23 years ago, our world was small. 23 years ago, the church phone number was a landline into my living room, okay? If you'd have called, if you'd have called the church 23 years ago, my two-year-old would have answered the phone,

all right, that's the way it was, 23 years ago. Our world was small. One of my favorite stories to tell was 23 years ago, one of our very first ever staff meetings, Phil Poteet, our worship leader here in Yorktown, Phil Poteet showed up late to the very first staff meeting and he began to explain to us why he was late, because I'm all about being on time, and Phil explained that he was late because he had just left having lunch at Wendy's and he accidentally left his pager on the table and he had to turn around to go get his pager, which made him late for our meeting, a pager. So, our world was small, 23 years ago, but if you'd have told me 23 years ago that 23 years later, people would be watching our services live right now in places like Nairobi, Kenya, and Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and Kigali, Rwanda, I would have said, what are you smoking right now? That's what I would have asked you 23 years ago, because our world was small. And really, all of that stuff wasn't on the radar 23 years ago, but I'll tell you what was, what was on our hearts and on our minds when we started this church 23 years ago was while our world was small, we were determined that God could use us to change our world. We were convinced that God could use us,

not to change the world, but to change our friends and our families, our workplaces, our neighborhoods, and our communities, and we were on a mission to change our world. We say it like this around here, we say it like this, we exist to change the way people think about church. And of course, the reason we wanna change the way they think about church is so that we could change the way they think about Jesus, so ultimately they can begin a relationship with Him. That's really what it's all about. And for 23 years, we've lived by that mission. We've been striving to change the way people think about church, because I believe that's what God has called all of us to be a part of. I believe that's what God wants for your life as well. I wanna give you a theme verse that we're gonna use throughout this series of messages. It's a verse that I actually believe is really a calling on my life as your pastor. I think it'll make sense as you see it. This is what the Bible says. It says, where there is no vision, the people are unrestrained, where there is no vision. Because without vision, people just run wild and live aimlessly. Without vision, people live without purpose and without direction and without meaning and significance if there's no vision for their life. So the Bible says, where there is no vision,

the people are unrestrained. I'll show you this verse in the message paraphrase. I love it. It says it like this. It says, if people can't see what God is doing, then they stumble all over themselves. And sadly, that's the way a lot of people live. They stumble all over them. They stumble over their marriages and their careers and their friendships and their finances and their problems and their issues and their mistakes and their concerns. They stumble all over themselves. And I want you to look at me because that's not what God wants for your life. You need to know that, that God has more for your life. God's got a greater vision for your life than you just stumbling along. In fact, the end of the verse says it like this. It says, but when they attend to what God reveals, they are, and say it with me, everybody, they are most blessed. Not just blessed. Uh-uh, no, they are hashtag most blessed. I love it. I love it. what God desires for your life. No longer stumbling along, but blessed, most blessed. And I believe that's why you need a vision for your life. A vision is a picture of a preferred future.

It's a picture of what God is doing in your life and what he wants to do in your life. Vision is what keeps you from stumbling in life. Vision is what keeps you from living an unrestrained life. This is why one of the greatest things you can do as a parent is learn to speak vision over your children. If you got teenagers, you know the challenge with teenagers today, they have no vision for their life. But if you as a parent would come alongside, it's one of the things I love most about our student ministry in this church is we speak vision and life over our students. We give them a picture of what life could be. If you're a boss at a job, one of the greatest things you can do for your employees is start speaking vision over their life. Speak to them about a preferred future. This is why one of the things that I try to do each and every week is I don't try to beat you up and make you feel bad for the things you did and the thoughts you had and the words you said last week. I don't try to do that. Instead, what I try to do is paint for you a picture of the things you can do, the thoughts you can have, and the words you can say next week. Because I'm trying to give you a picture of a preferred future. It's a life that God wants you to live so that you can be most blessed. You need a vision for your life.

And I wanna offer you one in this series. I wanna show you what God is doing so like the scripture said, so you can attend to it, so you can pay attention to it, and so that ultimately you can be most blessed. I wanna give you a vision for your life. And I want you thinking about it every morning when you wake up and praying about it every night when you go to bed. A vision for your life that gives you purpose beyond whatever your nine to five is. I wanna give you a vision for your life that makes the hard things of life, the challenging things of life, the difficult days of life all worth it because you got a vision for your life. I wanna give you a vision for your life that extends beyond just being a good mom or good dad, a good husband or good wife, a good neighbor, a good coworker, a nice person, a person that is successful in business or makes a lot of money. I wanna give you a vision that's greater than that, greater than being the Little League Coach of the Year or greater than having a son who plays on a travel team or a daughter who wins dance awards. I wanna give you a vision greater than the house you live in and the fancy car you drive. I wanna give you a vision that moves you emotionally and awakens you spiritually and pushes you intellectually

and drives you physically because if you're stumbling around in life, God has a vision for your life that is greater than the life you're currently living. I think God wants you to see today a new vision for your life and it just goes like this. Together, let's change the world. That's a vision for your life. That's a vision we're living for. Hey, I'd say that's a vision we're dying for. Together, let's change the world. It's a vision that God has for your life. Who are we? We're weak and what will we do? Together, we'll change the world. That's a vision and it's possible through your investment and involvement in God's church, it's possible to literally change the world with your life. In fact, I would say this to you today. Not only is it possible, it's actually God's plan. Let me say it again so all of us get it. Not only is it possible to use your life in the church to change the world, it's actually God's plan and it has been all along that God would use your life planted in the church to change the world. It's God's vision. It's God's vision for you to change the world and to show you that today, I wanna take you to three scenes

from one man's life in the Bible. One man who literally changed the world. I wanna show you three scenes. By the way, if you think I'm going with Jesus on that one, that'd be a gimme, but I'm gonna keep you on your toes a little bit more today. I wanna show you three scenes from one man's life. the life of the Apostle Paul. The Apostle Paul literally changed the world. I'm gonna give you three scenes and I'm gonna give you three challenges from those three scenes, just so you know what we're getting into today. Three scenes, three challenges, one vision. Together, let's change the world. Together, let's change the world. The first scene I wanna show you from Paul's life really is the scene that I would call Paul's salvation scene, his salvation scene. Because if you're gonna live out the vision God has for you to change the world, it all starts with being saved. God's vision for your life, just so you know, where it all begins, God's vision for your life. If you wanna know what's the preferred future God has for my life, it is that you would be saved. This is what God wants for all of us. The Bible says it like this. It says, this is good and pleases God, our Savior. Now look at this last part,

who wants all people to be saved and come to a knowledge of the truth. God wants you to be saved. Now, what does that word saved mean? What does salvation mean? Well, the original language of the Bible, that little word is sozo, sozo. Now, what does it mean? Sozo means this, it means to save, to keep safe, to rescue from danger or destruction. And God wants salvation for everyone. And he wants it for you. God wants you to be saved from the penalty and punishment of sin. God wants you to be saved from a life serving yourself. God wants you to be saved from living for just today because there's a whole eternity waiting for us. God wants you to be saved from shame and regret, from purposeless living. God's vision, just so everybody knows today, what God sees for your future and wants for you to be hashtag most blessed, God wants you to be saved. It's the whole reason he sent Jesus to be the Savior of the world. It's why Jesus came and said this. He said, I've come to seek and to save the lost. That's what Jesus said was his mission here on earth. God wants you to be saved. And he wanted Paul to be saved.

Now, Paul's story in scripture, it's an interesting one. It's fairly, I'd say dramatic if you study, especially his salvation. Paul was formerly known as Saul. God changed his name, but formerly known as Saul. And though he was incredibly religious, he was far from God. Now, let me say that again. Paul was incredibly religious, but far from God. And it is possible, it is possible to be religious and far from the God who loves you. It's possible to show up every Sunday to church and still be far from God. It's possible to be a good person and live a good life and still be far from God. It's possible to have a mama who's a Christian and a daddy who's a deacon in the church and still be far from God. Paul was religious, but far from God. He was in need of a savior and God wanted him to be saved. And God went to great extents to save Paul. Did you know God will go to great extents to save those whom he desires to be saved? You ever thought about that? What God went to and went through to save you. Hey, can I say it like this? God wanted some of you to be saved so much that he had me start a church 23 years ago just for your salvation. Think about that for a moment.

That's amazing. God loves you that much. He loves you that much. He really wanted Paul to be saved. So much so that he sent a blinding light and a visitation from the resurrected Lord Jesus himself to save Paul. That's how much he wanted Paul to be saved. And for three days, three days, Paul was literally blinded by the light. Hello, Bruce Springsteen. And then God sent through a vision, sent a man named Ananias to preach to Paul. And the Bible says this. It says, immediately, some of the people who had been blinded by the light Something like scales fell from Saul's eyes were saved by the light of God. and he could see again and he got up and he was baptized. And they were saved by the light of God. And they were saved by the light of God. This is Paul's salvation moment. He was saved. He was no longer religious, but now he had a relationship with God and that's God's vision for your life too. God wants you to be saved. So let me ask you as directly as I ever have before. Are you saved? Oh, come on, come on.

This is not a time to be shy about it because I don't think Paul was ever shy about it. Are you saved? If you are, you ought to be grateful to God. You're like, well, I'm not sure. I'm not sure if I'm saved. Okay, well, this is what the Bible says. The Bible says that if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, look at this. You will be saved. That's how you get saved. And I wanna offer you the first challenge of this vision-oriented message today that if you really wanna live the vision God has for your life, if you really wanna be used by God to change the world, then you gotta be saved. Here's the first challenge. Don't settle for religion. Start a relationship with Jesus today, today, today. For 23 years, for 23 years, I've been leading people every single Sunday to say yes to a relationship with Jesus Christ. And I can't even hardly believe it, but over 23 years, here's what we know. 12,430 people have said yes to Jesus in this house and have been saved over the last 23 years. Come on, somebody, change the world. You know what I'm believing?

I'm believing today, today, you're gonna be 12,431. I believe by the next service, I'm gonna have to update my notes and change my number because today somebody's gonna get saved in this house and your life will never be the same. It's God's vision for your life. God loves you so much that he sent his son, Jesus, to be your savior. And salvation is what drives everything else in our lives. That's why when I said, are you saved? And a bunch of you sat on your hands and didn't know what to do. I'm like, oh, wait a minute now. You're missing something here because salvation is what drives everything else. And a lot of people get stuck here because while you are saved from something, you're saved from shame and punishment and destruction and sin. I want you to learn today, God's vision for your life is to save you for something too. It's not just saved from something. God has saved you for something. And if together we're gonna change the world, then first you gotta be saved. But secondly, you gotta be called. You gotta be called. Let me give you my second challenge. My second challenge, if you wanna live out God's vision for your life

and you wanna change the world, here's challenge number two. Don't stop at the starting line because there's more to your salvation. There's more. There's more. I loved watching the winter Olympic games over these last couple of weeks. Loved it. Loved, loved watching curling. Let's go somebody. Loved. If I were an Olympic athlete, I would be a curler. That's what I would, that would be my sport of choice. Loved watching USA hockey. Let's go, USA hockey. Oh my gosh. Loved it. Loved it, loved it. Loved watching this. Loved watching speed skating. That's an incredible sport, speed skating. Now, I want you to just imagine this. Imagine, you know, you got the, you got the five skaters lined up at the starting line. And they have come through all the training, all the practice, all the time invested, all the dollars, all the sponsorships, opportunities. They've come through it all. They've now made it through their qualifying heats

and they're at the final race and they're lined up at the starting line. And imagine. Imagine the gun sounds and the race starts and one guy never leaves the starting line. And then imagine after the race, obviously he doesn't win. Let's just imagine after the race, the reporters go up to him and stick a microphone in his face and they're like, hey, what was the problem there? Was there an issue with your skates? Did you miss the cue? Like, why didn't you ever leave the starting line? And imagine he says back to the reporter, oh, I was just happy to make it to the Olympics. Like, imagine that. I mean, I was just happy to be there. I was just sitting around, soaking up the moment, you know? Didn't really see any reason to leave the starting line. Wasn't really trying to win the race. Just happy to make it there. That's pretty absurd. And yet that's the way a lot of us, hey, I'm talking to us today. This is a family talk. That's the way a lot of us live our spiritual lives. Oh, we're just happy to be saved. Just happy to be saved, just happy to be here. But there's a race. There's a race that God wants us to compete in.

A race that he wants you to run. We can stay at the starting line. Salvation is the starting line of faith, but there's more, there's more to your salvation. What is the more? It's a calling. Paul had a calling from God. Paul was saved. He was saved, but he had a calling from God. I'll show you, after Paul was saved, the Bible says this. It says, now for several days, he was with the disciples who were in Damascus. And immediately, look at it, immediately, as soon as he got saved, immediately, he began to proclaim Jesus in the synagogues, saying he is the son of God. But Saul kept increasing in strength and confounding Jews who lived in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Christ. Now, how do you prove? How do you prove that Jesus is the Christ? Paul did it in two ways. First, he did it with his words. He was proclaiming and preaching, teaching and sharing. He did it with his words, and then Paul did it like this. Paul, number two, he did it with his life. He lived in such a way that it proved Jesus is the Christ. He said it, and he lived it. He talked it, and he walked it. In fact, if I could like pick one of the verses

that Paul wrote in Scripture, he wrote over 30% of your New Testament, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, if I could pick one of those verses to be Paul's life verse, it would be this one. For to me, to live is Christ. That was Paul's motto in life. For to me, to live is Christ. Christ defined Paul's life. Salvation led to a call, and that call is how he changed the world, because he was saved, and he was called to live on purpose for a purpose. Now, here's what I've come to announce today, that God has a purpose for your life that is greater than your life. There's a calling on the life of every person who is saved today. It's a calling to prove to the world through the way you live, and through the words you use, that Jesus is the Christ. And that's how you change the world. That's how you change the world. You don't keep salvation to yourself. No, no, no, no. If you're saved, you'll stop at the starting line. There's more. You act like you're saved, talk like you're saved,

walk like you're saved, live like you're saved. You're called to live your life for a greater purpose, and your purpose after salvation. Think about this. The reason God leaves you on earth after salvation is to help other people know Jesus, so they can be saved. Amen. Be Near to Jesus. And I hope this helps other people that need God and need to heal. And I think it's the best reception I can give people, in terms of making sure that they have faith Guys, at the end of the service, in the Almighty God, when I pray with you to say yes to Jesus Christ, and that they don't have a fear that they're going to die, just because if they walk a little longer, and I ask you to lift your hand to mark this moment if they walk a little longer when they're able to say? so you never forget it, Let's pray. Father, let this ordainment be made God would just take you up to glory right then and there. in your presence.

Let each and every one of our souls Think about that. live to save that which you are searching for. If he didn't have something for you here on earth, May I pray? Let me pray. he'd just take you to heaven right away. But if you're saved and still here, God has a purpose for your life. He wants you to help other people know him. He wants you to live and talk in a way, think about this, that proves that Jesus is the Christ. Probably 20 years ago, right after we started the church, somebody shared with me an article from Reader's Digest. Now, if you're like around my age, Reader's Digest, this is how you'll remember it. It's that little magazine you should sit on the back of the toilet at grandma's house, all right? That was Reader's Digest. If you're like younger than me, you're like, Reader's what? It was an old person magazine, all right? Let me just say it like that. And they shared with me this article. And the title of the article from that magazine went like this. Start now, retire early. Start now, retire early. I got your attention now.

Some of y'all ain't been listening to the whole sermon. You're like, what? I'll read you a little bit of it. Bob and Penny took early retirement from their jobs in the Northeast five years ago when he was 59 and she was 51. Now they live in Punta Gorda, Florida, where they cruise on their 30 foot trawler, play softball and collect seashells. And the article then goes on to kind of paint this incredible picture of this is the American dream. Work hard now, store it all up, save as much as you can so that one day you can spend your final days on earth collecting seashells by the seashore. Like that's the goal. And I get it. When I read that, some of you get kind of fired up. You're like, oh, that sounds good. Sign me up. Listen, but God has more for you. God has more for your life, more impact, more purpose, more legacy, more life change. God has more. Do you really wanna spend the final days before you meet your creator? Standing around twiddling your thumbs, making life all about yourself so that one day you can stand before him and say, what, look at my seashell collection? God has more. Or do you wanna be like Paul?

I'm giving you a scene from his life. Paul says this. Paul says, I'm gonna stand before my creator and say this. I have fought the good fight. I have finished the race. I have remained faithful. And now, now there's a prize that awaits me. It's the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge will give me on the day of his return. I'll take the crown of righteousness over a collection of seashells any day. That's the vision. That's the vision. We don't show up in glory one day and say, woo, well, we made it. Thank God we made it. We show up in glory one day and say, we didn't just make it, we fought the fight. We finished the race. We lived our purpose. We populated heaven and look at it today because this place is full of people. God used me to change the world. I'm telling you, God has more. God has more. And if you wanna change the world, you gotta be saved. And if you wanna change the world, you gotta be called. There's a vision for your life. If you wanna be saved and called and change the world,

number three, you gotta be connected. And that's the third scene I wanna show you from Paul's life. Paul was connected. He was connected to what? He was connected to the church. He was connected within a family. Paul would go on to write. like this, that the church, we are the body of Christ. And Paul was a part of the body. You can't change the world alone. You gotta be connected. And I'm gonna tell you something, and I mean this from the depths of my heart. The church can't change the world without you. Pastor, why are you preaching this? About vision so passionately, because I want something greater for your life. But I want something greater for our church. And you need us in your life, and your church needs you in our life. And this has been God's plan, God's vision all along. So here's my third challenge. Here's my third challenge. Don't come to church. Be the church. Be the church. This is how you change the world. Stop thinking about church as a place you go, that building down the road.

Stop thinking about church as something you watch. Oh, I'm gonna click online and watch today. Stop making your decisions about church based on the weather. Huh. You know, if you make your decision about church based on the weather, it's never gonna be perfect, because sometimes it's too cold to come to church, and sometimes it's too sunny to go to church. Stop making your decisions about church based on your travel ball schedule. Travel ball doesn't change the world. Stop making your decisions about church based on your dumb vacations. I like a vacation, and you might be taking a really good one. Woo, invite me. But we gotta be back for Sunday. You see, you see, you see how we flipped it? Guys, do you see how we flipped it? That the very, the very thing God's designed to change the world is the very thing that we've put on the bottom of the priority list for our lives. You can't change the world alone. God has a vision for your life. He wants you to be connected in the church. Paul wrote this scripture, and he wrote it really as a praise and worship to God. It's a beautiful, beautiful, I think, doxology to God,

but I wanna show you a couple of phrases in it. Paul said this. He said, now to him, that's God, now to him who is able to do immeasurably more. Remember, there's more to your salvation, immeasurably more than we ask or imagine. According to his power at work, where? Within us. God's power at work within us. To him be glory, where? In the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever, amen. If you want God to use you to change the world, God can do immeasurably more than you ever dreamed. And he does it through his power working within us. Like that song we sang earlier, come do whatever you want to, Holy Spirit. He does it by his power working within us. And he does it when we are connected in the church. I'm just giving you a vision for your life. And if normal's working for you, fine. You can take your own vision and run with it. But I would suggest for most of us, normal's not cutting it. Consumeristic, individualistic, selfish lives, don't cut it for us. You want something more down deep inside, God's giving it to you. He's giving you a salvation. He's giving you a calling and he's giving you a church.

That's the more, that's the more. How do you change the world? You pour your life into the church. That's how you change it. That's how you change it. You become the church. I'll give you one final scene from Paul's life. At the book of Acts, as we're reading through the start of the church, we see that Paul and a group of other Christ followers, they're ministering, they're preaching, they're living in such a way, and they're traveling from city to city. And everywhere they go, they're starting churches. Paul started something like 14 to 20 directly. started 14 to 20 churches in his life. And so everywhere he goes, he's starting a church and he's changing the world. And the Bible tells us about this time where Paul gets to one town and Paul and his traveling partners, they stay with a new Christian there, somebody who just got saved. His name was Jason. Jason's a new follower of Christ. Jason is hosting Paul at his house. He hasn't settled for religion. He has a relationship with Jesus. He hasn't stopped at the starting line. He knows there's more.

He isn't just going to church. He is the church. He's hosting now the great apostle Paul. The problem is that when some of the religious leaders in that town heard about Paul and the others being there, they felt threatened by that. They didn't want their world changed. And so they go to Jason's house, hoping to find Paul and his traveling companions, but they don't find Paul there. Instead, they just find Jason. And this is what the Bible says. It says, but when they could not find them, they dragged Jason and some other brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out. This is what they said. These who have turned the world upside down have come here too. I love that phrase. These who have turned the world upside down, they've come here too. You know what Jesus came to do? To turn the world upside down. That's why Jesus came. Do you know what Jesus's vision for your life is? He wants you to turn the world upside down, to change the world. Think about it. Think about what if that's what was said of us? Those people at Watershead Church,

they turned the world upside down. Those people in Yorktown, Newport News, Virginia Beach, they are turning the world upside down. What if they said it about you when you walk down the street of your neighborhood? You see that? Hey, there's Jimmy out there walking. That's the guy that turns the world upside down. What about when you show up tomorrow at the office, when you show up at the school, teenagers, when you show up on the field, when you take your kids to practice? Hey, there's a family. They're the ones turning the world upside down because if brokenness is right side up, I wanna turn the world upside down. If loneliness and hurting is right side up, I wanna turn the world upside down. If right side up is marriage is falling apart, I wanna turn the world upside down. If right side up is people being disconnected from their creator, living for themselves, not experiencing the love of Christ, I wanna turn the world upside down. If right side up is hatred and racism, abuse, hurt, and pain, I wanna turn the world upside down. This is how we change the world. We don't come to church. We are the church.

We are the people who turn the world upside down for God's kingdom. And you do it when you're saved, when you're called, and when you're connected. Like my friends, Brian and Sabrina, who grab a little disc drive and travel to Indian Creek Correctional Center on Friday nights to host church with 40 to 60 men there, they're turning the world upside down. Like my friend, Jen, who right now, today, is hosting our online service. And like I said earlier, people from all over the world are engaging. She's turning the world upside down. Like Beth, here at our Yorktown campus, who will get down on the ground and teach fourth and fifth graders about God's purpose for their life today. She's turning the world upside down. Think about it. Like Chad at our Newport News campus. Chad has been a volunteer staff member. Last month, he hit his nine-year anniversary, serving every single week to help us launch groups in Newport News. Are you kidding me? He's turning the world upside down. You're saved. They're called.

They're connected. What about you? What about you? Because God's got a vision for your life. He's waiting for you to step into it. We are WECC. And together, we'll change the world. Let's pray. Father, in the powerful name of Jesus, I pray these words would leap into our hearts. Stir our souls and move us to action today. We thank you for salvation. And right now I pray for number 12,431. And if you've never given your heart and life to Jesus, this is your moment, this is your time. Just say from your heart, say, Jesus, I wanna know you. I want my sin forgiven by you. I wanna be made right with God in heaven through you and live my life for you. Come into my heart and be my Lord and my Savior. God, we thank you for salvation. We thank you for a call on our life that's greater than salvation. It propels us forward to share your love with others. And I pray we would each step into that call today, confidently knowing that we can live and talk in such a way that the world will know Jesus is Lord. And I thank you for our church. I pray today for a greater anointing than we've ever experienced.

I pray for miracle signs and wonders in this house. I pray God today for your power to be unleashed through your people that every place we go, we would be those who turn the world upside down.
