Peter calls the crowd to repent and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of their sins. Three thousand people gladly receive his message and are baptized that very day. The new believers devote themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer. A spirit of unity, generosity, and joy fills the early Church as they live out their new faith together.
